Simply prepare it according to package directions, or use your own dried leaves and steep them in hot water for several minutes (depending on the desired taste), then strain. While the infusion is steeping, visualize prosperity filling your life in every way. Imagine that the leaves contain an elixir of wealth, and it seeps into the water, creating a potion for abundance. Chant these words over the liquid as it cools to your desired temperature:

“Prosperity will flow to me;
I invite it as I drink this tea.”

Put Your Dream on a Shelf

Sometimes, the world being the way it is, we must postpone a dream. Put it on a shelf until its proper time arrives.

Find these ingredients for this spell:
* Black and white candles
* Something to symbolize your dream (such as a picture of the car you can’t
afford or a map of Paris for the trip you can’t take yet)
* A palm-sized cardboard or wooden box with a lid
* A lucky coin (Susan B. Anthony or Sacagawea dollar)
* An agate for grounding
* You might also eat a chicken dinner and save the wishbone. Dry it and paint
it sparkly gold.

Cast your circle, light the candles, and invoke Isis and/or Osiris. Fold the picture or map and place it in your box. One by one, place the other objects in the box. Now ask for divine intervention—and patience—as you set your box on a shelf at home or in your workstation until your intuition (or an oracle like the Tarot) tells you it’s time to take it down and either burn or bury the contents. Balance Stones

The road through life can feel a bit bumpy at times. One source we can tap into to bring balance to ourselves is nature. Being in nature is healing in itself, bringing us back into alignment with our non-human relatives.

This spell requires you to head outdoors for a short hike. On your hike, look for a couple stones. Keep your intuitive ears open for stones that would like to work with you as allies. You’ll need two stones, one darker in color than the other. They should be small enough so you can carry them in a small bag but large enough to hold as a touchstone.

When you find your two new stone friends, give them a loving smudge bath by passing them through the cleansing smoke of burning sage or your favorite incense. The Ludi Romani (Roman Games) was an ancient festival that usually included multiple ceremonies (ludi), starting in early September. The ludi of this time are in honor of Jupiter.

For this spell you will need lightning water, which is rainwater gathered during a thunderstorm. The lightning bolt is Jupiter’s most feared symbol. It has useful applications in many magickal paths, including Hoodoo. In Hoodoo, lightning water is used as a floor wash to bring fast change and for protection and strength.

Today, make your own Jupiter floor wash. First, sweep your kitchen or living room floor with your magickal besom.

Using a mop or sponge, wet down the floor with lightning water. As you spiritually cleanse the floor, chant:

Heartwings Love Notes 896: Small Gestures May Mean Much

Heartwings says: “Small and tender moments add up to big happiness.”

Back in the 50’s here was a popular song titled Little Things Mean a Lot. It was a sweet song detailing loving moments a couple might share. If you have internet access you can look it up on You Tube. As a result of my operation five weeks ago, I have been living small, and little things have come to mean a lot. By this I mean my being confined to home, resting a lot, and generally solely dedicated to getting well. Both my physical movements and the focus of my thoughts have revolved around this.

What this has done is to make the small circumstances of my daily life stand out more than they might ordinarily. Anything I might have taken for granted before is now emphasized. Small kindnesses have more importance. I find myself even more grateful than ever for the sweet emails people have sent me wishing me well. The generosity of friends who have offered to and taken Stephen shopping or for errands is special. I feel blessed by the meaningful kindness of those offers. Most of all I am grateful to Stephen for all the help he has given me.

When I came home after the operation I couldn’t dress myself at all. I needed help to perform the simplest tasks. I couldn’t cook anything, clean anything, or do more than spend the day on the couch. We watched movies and old TV shows together, and that was fun, however to do much more than that was just not possible for me. While this period of time was short in terms of my life so far, it was highly significant in terms of its effect. I feel enormously grateful for what I have received from it as well as what I have learned.

I’ll be out of the woods so to speak pretty soon and my life will be back to its usual rhythms and flow. This time has been a kind of island in my life. I have rested there and soon I will launch back into the daily stream and be carried by the flow of my days. Certainly I feel better for having had the operation. Soon even the slight aches that remain will be gone and I won’t need to walk with a cane. What will stay with me from this time is the many loving gestures of friends and acquaintances and most of all the care and kindness of my husband Stephen when the full burden of our daily lives fell upon his shoulders.

Increasing Luck Candle Spell

This is a simple candle spell, but perfect for people who like to do the same spell often. It’ll give you a boost of luck each time.

Ingredients:
A candle (your choice of color).
Pick a color candle that feels energetic or lucky to you. Yellow or gold is popular, but red or orange is a good choice too.
Sit in the dark with the candle in front of you. Light it and say the following:

Fire before me,
Increase my luck in leap and bounds,
For long as this candle is around.

Burn the candle for seven minutes, sitting with it the whole time. You can repeat the spell again if you want, or just simply sit and think about the kind of things good luck can bring.
After the seven minutes are over, blow out the candle and keep it. Next time you want to shift your luck, light the candle again, repeat the verbal spell, and burn the candle for seven minutes.

Notes:
When you burn the candle anymore, save the wax to make into a new candle. You can dress the candle, if you like.

Connecting with the Sacred

Our world is so sacred. Sacredness resides all around, not just beyond. Look at a tree, a bird, a mountain, look with spiritual eyes and you will see that “All that is” is alive. And even in midst of urban environment, look well, because you will be able to find/see the sacred there. There are so many natural sanctuaries all around. A flower that erupts from the concrete, a butterfly that comes to greet you along with the sun rays, the hypnotizing glow of the moon light, the bird that sings on your windowsill or even the small plant pot at your home – they all carry the sacredness of Nature/Earth.

Being clairvoyant is a blessing in perceiving the sacredness all around. The sacredness in all things/beings shines brighter naturally in front of my “eyes”. Seeing their light aligns me with the Sacred/Divine. The outer sacredness reminds me of my own sacredness, connecting/awakening me to the greatness of life/light. This spiritual vision/sight keeps me in “touch” with the divinity within/without/beyond. After all, we are as sacred as our world.

Living life relying on a holistic, sacred sight brings divine grace/blessings into my life. My heart opens in deep gratitude for life, while realizing a deep sense of Higher/Divine purpose and meaning for the Whole. All is sacred after all!

Anything really worth doing in our lives will always have some fear attached to it.

Anything worth doing will always have some fear attached to it. For example, having a baby, getting married, changing careers–all of these life changes can bring up deep fears. It helps to remember that this type of fear is good. It is your way of questioning whether you really want the new life these changes will bring. It is also a potent reminder that releasing and grieving the past is a necessary part of moving into the new.

Fear has a way of throwing us off balance, making us feel uncertain and insecure, but it is not meant to discourage us. Its purpose is to notify us that we are at the edge of our comfort zone, poised in between the old life and a new one. Whenever we face our fear, we overcome an inner obstacle and move into new and life-enhancing territory, both inside and out. The more we learn to respect and even welcome fear, the more we will be able to hear its wisdom, wisdom that will let us know that the time has come to move forward, or not. While comfort with fear is a contradiction in terms, we can learn to honor our fear, recognizing its arrival, listening to its intelligence, and respecting it as a harbinger of transformation. Indeed, it informs us that the change we are contemplating is significant, enabling us to approach it with the proper reverence.

You might wish to converse with your fear, plumbing its depths for a greater understanding of the change you are making. You could do this by sitting quietly in meditation and listening or by journaling. Writing down whatever comes up–your worries, your sadness, your excitement, your hopes–is a great way to learn about yourself through the vehicle of fear and to remember that fear almost always comes alongside anything worth doing in your life.

The Time Machine Part 8, Conclusion

The General put down his phone and called Smith and Jones into his office. Both men looked worn out and seemed to have lost weight.
“Report,” he said.
“We walked back,” Smith said. “But its complicated.”
Smith handed him a silver spoon with fancy engraving. “I think this belongs either at the White House or the Smithsonian, Sir.”
The general examined it carefully. “Who gave this to you?”
“Dolly Madison, Sir.”
He looked hard at Smith, “Explain.”
“Hiram Case was supposed to send us back to the White House Christmas Party. Instead we ended up here during an attack on the White House in 1812.”
“You’re trying to tell me that you went back two hundred plus years?”
“Yes, Sir,” Smith said. “Case’s time machine worked.”
He stood up. “Come with me.”
The three men left the general’s office in the Pentagon, walked down two corridors and came to a room with glass walls. Inside, a cluster of military and civilian men and women were examining Hiram’s steamer trunk.”
“That’s it,” Jones said.
“Yes,” Smith said. “Have you detained Case and his wife?”
“It seems they were gone by the time we entered their home. That old steamer trunk was standing in their basement. I was told it was warm and the electric wiring smelled odd.”
“Perhaps if they weren’t in their house they might have used the time machine to take off for parts unknown,” Jones said.
The General banged his fist on the desk. “What am I supposed to tell the Joint Chiefs,” he said, “that this relic can transport people through time?” He ran his hand over the stars on his uniform. “I value my tenure in the military and until I have definitive proof… ”
“Seems hard to believe,” Smith said. “But yes, Sir. That’s exactly what it does.”
“Case must be some sort of a genius,” the General said. “How did you ever get back?”
“Case had told us to envision the White House as we remembered it and by doing so, and by focusing our mental energy as we walked in place, we traveled back.”
“I find this hard to believe.”
“Yes Sir,” Jones said. “I do too. But it happened.”
“When Dolly Madison dropped the box with the silverware, unbeknownst to me, that piece fell into my boot.” Smith said
Smith convinced me to stay put instead of going to help the militiamen,” Jones chimed in. “Then we focused on the present and continued to walk in place until we got back.”
“Consider this entire operation highly classified. You are not to speak of it to anyone. And that’s an order. None of this ever happened.” The General looked stern.
Jones shrugged. “No one would believe us anyway; I still don’t get it myself.”
An investigator attached wires from a computer to the trunk. Others began turning the assortment of knobs and switches.
“People like Case are dangerous. Give me simple inventions that make sense and help drive the economy,” the General said.
As they watched, several of the colored bulbs popped. Gray smoke poured out of them. There were crackles, then flames shot from the trunk.
Someone aimed a fire extinguisher at it but rather than quell the flames it seemed to exacerbate them. Before long it was nothing but a heap of ash.
Meanwhile in another time and place, Hiram and Emily walked hand in hand along a pristine beach. Polynesian fishermen were bringing in the morning catch. Native women in brightly colored sarongs collected coconuts and mangoes.
“Personally I’m glad Stevenson believed our story.” Hiram said cheerfully.
“Yes,” Emily said. “See? It takes imagination to appreciate what you do.”
“And,” he smiled. “I’m glad he was amused by my idea for a electric papaya peeler.”
“Of course, dear. Incidentally, I did check at the mission house and there are at least two steamer trunks nobody seems to want. So should you ever want to put together another time machine…”
“And go back to that 21st Century rat race we just escaped. I think not.”
Emily smiled. “That’s good to hear Hiram. I don’t want to do that either, but just think, there is so much to the world we haven’t seen as yet.”
“Really? I don’t know if our jumping around that way is a good idea. This is such a perfect life for us. And there are wonderful books in English in the library at the mission. Everything you seem to want,” he said. ”
“Well, as I recall reading,” Emily said, “the Stevensons will be leaving for London next spring and shortly thereafter Paul Gauguin will be arriving. I hope you’ll commission him to paint my portrait.”
Hiram smiled. “Most certainly. Maybe several.”
“Oh Hiram I’m so glad we’re here in Tahiti” She stopped, smiled and put her hand on his arm. “And to think that once you make your machine again we can travel through time.”
“I thought you were happy here,” Hiram said.
“I am, yet you have awakened something in me that wasn’t there before…a sense of curiosity about the world I’ve only read about.”
Hiram frowned. “I hear what you’re saying. But I don’t know.”
“And when you make another time machine we can go places like the Columbia exposition.”
He looked thoughtful. “Maybe.”
She kissed him. “Oh Hiram just ask Leonardo, Copernicus and Galileo and see what they say.”

Sight Versus Vision

Vision comes from within and shows us how to navigate the realms of thought, feeling, and emotion.

Sight is the ability to see the physical world while vision is the gift of seeing beyond it. Sight enables us to take the physical world in so we can participate in it with knowledge. It brings us pleasure through our eyes, which perceive the colors and shapes of all the myriad expressions of nature and human beings. It helps us feel in control, allowing us to see what is coming toward us, which way we are going, and exactly where we are standing at a given moment. We are able to read signs and books, navigate the interiors of buildings with ease, sense and perceive how a person is feeling by the expressions that cross her face.

As anyone who has lost their eyesight can tell you, though, there are things that are clearer when you cannot see the world through your eyes. One of the reasons many meditation instructors advise sitting with the eyes closed is because we automatically become more in touch with our inner world when we are not distracted by the outer world. It is in this state that vision becomes our mode of seeing. Vision comes from within and shows us how to navigate the realms of thought, feeling, and emotion. It enables us to see things that aren’t yet manifested in the world of form, and it also connects us to that part of ourselves that exists separately from the world of form.

As we age, even those of us with perfect eyesight will generally lose some of our acuity, but this loss is usually replaced with inner vision. This is the time of life when we are meant to turn inside and take what are sometimes the very first steps of a journey that cannot be traced on a map. We call upon intuition and feel our way along a path that ultimately carries us beyond the realm we can see with our eyes and into the land of spirit.

It’s Pumpkin Spice Time!
Pumpkin Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting

Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 25 minutes Yield: 24 large bars, 48 small bars 1x

Light, fluffy, moist pumpkin bars (like cake!) topped with a rich, creamy, decadent cream cheese frosting. It’s an exquisite, heavenly dessert. They’ll disappear right before your eyes!

PUMPKIN BARS:

2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 eggs
1 2/3 cup sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 can (15 ounces) pure pumpkin (not pie filling!)

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
12 Tablespoons butter, softened at room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 Tablespoons cream, half-and-half, or milk
6 cups unsifted powdered sugar

Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Sift together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda.
In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs, sugar, oil, and pumpkin until light and fluffy. Add mixed dried ingredients into pumpkin mixture, beating until fully combined.
Spread batter in an ungreased 17×12 inch jelly roll pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes (adjust if your pan is a different size!), until the edges begin to brown slightly and a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.

Combine cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and cream in a mixing bowl. Beat with electric mixer on medium speed. Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time, mixing between each addition, until all cups are added and frosting is smooth. Spread evenly on cooled pumpkin bars.

You are driven to help someone fulfil their potential. The reason you`re trying to persuade a colleague or young relative into something is because you know them better than themselves. With your support and guidance, they will accomplish something they never expected they`d ever be able to do. Friendships are fun. You are a highly sociable person and people you are mixing with are compatible. It will be a joy to benefit from such rapport and understanding..

It could feel as though much has broken loose in the run into next Sunday`s Full Moon. Between circumstances shifting and an increasing number of questions regarding certain personal matters, issues involving others and future plans, you`ve lots to reflect on. Others are impatient. Still, take it slowly until the Pisces Full Moon, on the 14th. After that, both complex situations and your own feelings will be much clearer.

A friend can`t seem to let bygones be bygones. They keep bringing up matters of the past you would rather forget about. If you don`t want to be constantly reminded of a painful incident, the only solution will be to avoid this person. Quiet pursuits will bring a welcome balance to your life. Communing with nature, reading or listening to music can be relaxing and a good way to recharge your emotional batteries. A spiritual experience is enlightening.

Next weekend`s Full Moon is in your sign. Before then, the Sun makes major aspect to your two ruling planets, Jupiter and Neptune; and yes, this could prove a week to remember. Career wise, your ability to see patterns and designs that others miss will likely be enhanced. This should prove a boon if you`re involved in advertising or marketing. It may be though, that others are slow – at least as far as you`re concerned, – to grasp the concepts. It may be that you`re assuming that they can read your mind. From their perspective, it might seem that you`re being less than clear. Your ideas have value and in committing them to paper you allow them to become reality. This exercise should all be should also be helpful to others!
