Thanksgiving Blessings!

 

A Thanksgiving Prayer

We return thanks to our mother, the earth, which sustains us.

We return thanks to the rivers and streams, which supply us with water.

We return thanks to all herbs, which furnish medicines for the cure of our diseases.

We return thanks to the moon and stars, which have given to us their

light when the sun was gone.

We return thanks to the sun, that has looked upon the earth with a

beneficent eye.

Lastly, we return thanks to the Great Spirit, in Whom is embodied all

goodness, and Who directs all things for the good of Her children.

Thanksgiving

The year has turned its circle,

The seasons come and go.

The harvest all is gathered in

And chilly north winds blow.

Thanksgiving is celebrated today in the USA as we give thanks for material and spiritual abundance. Thanksgiving represents basic Sagittarian concepts of optimism, fellowship and hope. It is celebrated when the Sun is in Sagittarius. But there’s more! Each day is related to a planet. Thursday (Thor’s Day) is Jupiter’s Day—Jupiter being the key planet of Sagittarius. That we celebrate the philosophy of Sagittarius—encapsulated in Thanksgiving—on the first Jupiter day after the Sun enters Sagittarius, is an example of astrology working in ways we normally don’t notice. Today, America gathers for family, feasting and football.  It’s the purest of our holidays:  a day set aside to be grateful.
