GrannyMoon’s Weekly Feast 20-27 Sept 2020! Thanks for reading my blog!

Autumn Equinox

Balance is brief and tenuous:
we teeter between extremes,
only to fall to one side or the other
chosen by our nature to be
bright or night, light or dark.

Warm days encourage ripening,
bring scurrying squirrels
secreting stores against the cold.
Trees drop fruit, bears gorge
Storing up nature’s harvest.
Mabon energy pretends balance
while encouraging excess.
Dwindling begins slowly,
warnings are tenuous
autumn creeps in quietly.
We may choose the bright, yet
we need the dark. It will grow
bringing with it rest and sleep.
Beginning slowly, the cycle
moves toward its end,
and too, its beginning.

Light A Candle Today!

In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

September 21 – 27, 2020

Man the life vest, stormy seas ahead. We begin the week with tense astro energy. Obsession and worry are the flavor of the day, along with a side of being controlling. Avoid trying to coerce others into anything because it could lead to potential long-term conflicts. On Tuesday, Libra season begins, and our focus shifts from our day-to-day lives to relationship matters. The Libra Sun is cranky because of its relationship with Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn, and Mars. Tensions could escalate quickly, especially if frustrations and resentments build over time. Ah, those family dynamics! The Middle of the week brings more difficulty. This may be where the cork pops off the lid and leaves a mess that may be hard to clean up. Try to avoid disagreements with authority figures. The week ends with your desire to seek the truth in matters. Even though ‘knowing’ can lead to its own set of troubles, the truth will set you free. Be brave my friends.

Candle Recommendations: Wicked Witch Mojo Outta’ My Way / Bitch Be Gone / Shut Your Mouth / Tornado Alley / Poof

Tarot Card Of The Week
Nine of Wands

The Nine of Wands comes as a sign that even in the face of adversity, you stand tall and strong. You may be on the edge of exhaustion, but you are resilient, persistent, and ready to do what it takes to get to the finish line.

This card may also come when you feel battered and bruised, having endured significant challenges and struggles along your path. Just when you think you are making progress, you suffer another setback.

Trust that this is a test of your ‘grit’ and resilience, and know that every time you overcome an obstacle, you are getting stronger. You have the inner resources necessary to overcome any difficulty you encounter, even though it may seem impossible at the time.

Keep pushing – you are so close to the finish line. Don’t let go of your hopes and dreams when you are so close to making them a reality. Stand firm in the face of your challenges, and you will achieve your goal.

Ask the Tarot: What advice does my Higher Self have for me as I overcome these challenges?

Autumn Equinox September 22, 2020

So much is going on in our world right now the Pandemic, hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes, floods, loss of work, and most important the loss of loved ones. It’s time to welcome in the Fall Autumn Equinox. This will be a time that we can use for quiet and silence. Our minds have been racing nonstop and in the midst of all this chaos the autumn equinox brings to attention the fact that everything does change. Nothing remains the same and that’s something you need to hold on to right now.

September 22 will mark the Autumnal Equinox which signals the beginning of Fall in the northern hemisphere (our friends in the southern hemisphere are celebrating the Spring Equinox). There will be an equal amount of light and darkness during this time, and afterward the nights grow longer and we head towards winter. You are living in a time of change and it’s time to move forward.

In the rhythm of the year, Harvest Home marks a time of rest after hard work. The crops are gathered in, and winter is still a month and a half away! Although the nights are getting cooler, the days are still warm, and there is something magical in the sunlight, for it seems silvery and indirect.

This is a time of a powerful 3 Day Galactic Portal time and the Birthing of The Shift: whereby there is a wonderful Opportunity to set the pattern/s of your Life to exactly how YOU want it to look, like or be. A beginning of a true quickening of “Realty” shifts based on your “output” of energies of your thoughts, words, intentions, and deeds. A great time for creating with an open-heart based Consciousness. Positive, loving, benevolent, life affirming, compassionate energies bring quick” like” experiences.. On the other hand, Negative, harmful energies No longer have the use or support of Universal Life Force and so will falter…So.. May All Blessings and Good be Yours! Create Wonderfully and Joyfully!

Equinox, meaning “equal night”, has its share of folklore and tradition as well. Some are rooted in Mythology; others are more grounded and carry their tradition to this day.

Those surrounding Autumnal Equinox included the following:

In Greek mythology, Persephone (formerly named Kore) returns to the Underworld on Autumnal Equinox to live with her husband, Hades, for half a year after living on Earth with her mother, Demeter, starting at Vernal Equinox.
Higan (meaning “the other shore”—nirvana), a Buddhist memorial service, occurs around the time of Autumnal Equinox (as well as Vernal Equinox), for seven days and serves to comfort ancestral spirits with loved ones visiting family graves.
Michaelmas, the Christian holiday honoring the Archangel Michael, has pagan roots in Autumnal Equinox—end of harvest time, the marking of shorter days and longer nights, as well as the expulsion of Lucifer from Heaven by Archangel Michael.
Mabon, the Witch’s Thanksgiving, was a Welsh god and the male “counterpart” to the Persephone myth. Taken from his mother while only days old, Mabon gestates in the womb of Modron (the Great Mother) waiting to be reborn.
Clearly, this time of year has a variety of cultural observances spread around the world, diverse in custom, yet united in season. This September, when experiencing one of the biannual “Balancing of Nature”, remember the multitude of celebrations that share the advent of Autumn.

To welcome in this beautiful and magical season use some of the following to embrace all that is good.

Incense or scents to use: Pine, sage, sweetgrass or myrrh.
Seasonal Herbs: Rue, yarrow, rosemary, marigold, sage, walnut leaves and husks, mistletoe, saffron, oat leaves, apple.

Heartwings Love Notes 949:
Mourning a Green Friend

Heartwings says, “Not only creatures and people can be our friends, but also other living beings.”

In every season, each morning when I opened the curtains of our second-floor apartment and looked out our sliding door, a growing Maple tree greeted me. Each season I watched it change to suit the cycles it reflected, taking many photographs of it as well. The leaves, when they were green reminded me that spring was on the way, and I watched as the seeds growing beneath them ripened. In the fall the leaves’ changing color heralded the turn of the seasons. In winter the bare branches made shadows on the building across the way, and too provided photo opportunities.

As the years of our being there passed and the tree grew larger, I became a little concerned. It was filling the area between our apartment building and the next with its leafy branches. I hoped it would not grow too large for the space. The tree was precious to me. I appreciated it for how it helped screen our porch from the street with its passing traffic. Yet more than that it was a green friend that each day I greeted with a joyous heart. I have always loved trees, and I was grateful to live so close to this one. These gentle beings provide for us unstintingly, asking nothing in return.

One morning I heard strange buzzing and shrieking sounds outside. my apartment. As I pulled back the slider’s curtain, I saw a man approaching the tree carrying a long pole with a saw on the end. Horrified, I watched as he applied the saw to the branches. One by one they fell to the ground, taking their leafy burden and seeds with them. My green friend would be no more. On the days following when I went for my morning walks on the long porch on the back of our building, I had to avert my eyes from the empty space where the tree had been and the pieces of its trunk stacked across the way.

It is said that the forests of the Amazon are the lungs of the planet. I have also read that our DNA in many ways resembles that of trees. Every tree that grows serves a purpose. That purpose plays an important part in our health. No doubt the owner of the space where it grew had good reasons for murdering my tree—that sounds extreme yet it was how I feel. I miss my green friend and always will. I kept a few of the seeds that landed on the porch as a memento. The photographs, too, remind me of my lovely, gentle friend with its leaves and branches that each day waved good morning.

Wherever you live, may you find green friends to love.

Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert

Turning to Ancestors for Guidance
By Madisyn Taylor

There is so much beauty in honoring those that came before you and seeking their wisdom.

Many entities assume the role of spirit guide. Throughout our lives, we may call upon angels, animal and nature spirits, ascended masters, and celestial guardians for aid, protection, and support. Our ancestors represent another wellspring from which we may draw wisdom in times of need for they, too, can act as our spirit guides. Since our forebears spent at least one lifetime experiencing the tribulations that are a part of human existence, the perspective they can offer is a uniquely grounded one. Ancestral spirit guides can empathize with our fears and our frailties, worry, temptation, and feelings of insecurity. Once you have requested their guidance, they will see to it that you emerge unscathed on the far side of conflicts and are well-equipped to fulfill your potential.

If your relationship with your relatives was strained when they were earthbound or you feel disconnected from your heritage, the thought of asking your ancestors for aid can be disconcerting. But when the soul takes on its spirit form, it becomes pure light. Your ancestors, regardless of who or what they were in life, are monitoring your life’s journey because you are their progeny and they want to see you do your best. You can communicate with them directly, as well as through meditation, your dreams, or the written word. Creating an altar or shrine that displays images of your forebears or objects owned by them can help you connect with individual ancestors. The guidance they provide may take many forms as each ancestral spirit guide retains its individual identity and will thus have its own style of communication. If your ancestors do not speak to you directly or visit you in your dreams, examine your life to determine whether they are replying to your queries subconsciously.

When you make contact with your forebears, thank them for being a part of the web of intent that gave you life. Honoring their wisdom and experience can make your life seem larger and richer. Like other spirit guides, your ancestors won’t interfere with your choices or attempt to deprive you of free will. They will only do their best to answer your questions and provide you with all the love, aid, and guidance you ask for in order to help you evolve as an individual.

Llewellyn’s Spell-A-Day

An Apple Spell for Finding Love
By Michael Furie

Since it is apple season and these special fruits are known to be otherworldly reservoirs of magical power, they can offer us assistance in important work such as healing or finding love. An apple, when cut through the middle, usually holds a natural pentacle of five points to hold its seeds. This is perhaps one of the reasons that the fruit is linked to witchcraft. In any event, a quick, effective spell to draw love requires only a single apple.

Hold an apple with both hands and think of being in love. Mentally and emotionally conjure up feelings of joyful romance. Take a bite of the apple and keep building this vision. With each bite of apple, intensify the feeling. By eating the apple, you’re taking in the magic and responsibility of the spell. When finished, bury the core in the earth to release the magic.

Rosh Hashanah
By Tess Whitehurst

L’Shanah Tova! It’s Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Traditionally, it’s a time to forgive and be forgiven, to release old challenges and mistakes, and to bless the fresh new cycle ahead. A particularly magical Rosh Hashanah custom involves dipping apple slices in honey to fill the year with sweetness. The apple relates to health, as well as the feminine aspect of God, known as the Shekhinah. The honey symbolizes the sweet blessings we hope the Shekhinah will shower upon us.

To create your own version of this ritual, slice an apple. Say a gratitude blessing over the apple in a way that feels powerful for you. Dip a slice in honey and take a bite. Then speak to God/dess from your heart, respectfully requesting an incredibly sweet, healthy, and joyful new cycle. You can do this alone or share the ritual with a partner or group.

An Offering to Venus
By Kate Freuler

Friday is sacred to Venus, the Roman goddess of love, beauty, and seduction. Today, set aside a small space dedicated to this goddess of love, welcoming her powers into your life. Some items that symbolize Venus are seashells, rose quartz, mirrors, and sweet-smelling flowers.

Gather these together in an esthetically pleasing way, and place a piece of chocolate in the center. Light a red candle in a holder on your shrine, and envision the type of love and beauty you’d like to manifest in your life.

Break the piece of chocolate in half. Leave half on your mini-altar as an offering to Venus. Eat the other half and know that you are attracting love and beauty into your life. Repeat every Friday until you feel it is done or you manifest what you desire. Be sure to extinguish the candle.

New Moon, New Beginning
By Barbara Ardinger

When the moon is new, we’re sitting in the dark. What can we do in the dark? Remember that darkness is good. Babies grow in the darkness of the womb. Seeds germinate in the darkness under the ground. A new moon is a golden opportunity to begin something.

Cast your circle in the dark and consider what you need to begin again. A term paper? A work project? Place the Queen of Pentacles from the Tarot on your altar and light at least one white candle in a holder. Gather some moonstones and name each one for something that needs to begin again. Keep them on your altar all month. Say:

Blessed new moon, gracious queen,
teach me what to plant and grow.
I am rooted in the darkness. Help
me grow with you toward the light,
Into fruition, into
understanding, into success.
So mote it be!

Strong Foundation Spell
by Laura Tempest Zakroff

At number 16 in the Major Arcana of the Tarot, we find the Tower card. This can be a scary card to pull, as it often signifies that something is about to fall apart. But the Tower also reminds us to check our foundations—are we moving too fast for our own good?

Keep an eye out for a small rock or stone that catches your attention. If you get a good feeling while holding it, take the rock home and clean it. With a permanent marker, draw a star and a square on opposite sides of the rock. The star represents upward motion, and the square symbolizes foundation.

Keep the rock with you, and when you’re wondering if you’re making the right choice, roll the rock in your hands and then open them. If the star is facing up, focus on the next step. If the square is facing up, take more time before you move forward.

A Letter to the Deceased
By James Kambos

The apple harvest has begun, and in occult belief apples are associated with the dead. In this spell, an apple is used as an offering to the deceased.

Drape your altar with black fabric. On it, place a black candle in a holder, white paper, a black ink pen, and an apple. Think of the deceased, then silently begin writing a letter like this:

Sweet spirit, now that you
are in death’s embrace,
I ache because I can no
longer see your face.
The words I write are for
you and you alone,
They’re sent with love, as if you
were still flesh and bone.

Continue writing and say whatever else you wish to say. Show no one the letter. Snuff out the candle. Wrap the letter around the apple and bury it. Your letter has been received. Don’t be surprised if the deceased contacts you in a dream.

Messengers of Direction
By Madisyn Taylor

Animals in nature always have a message for us, start noticing what animals show up in your life and when.

Animals share our planet with us, but experience it differently–each has its own abilities and gifts that allow them to interact successfully with the natural world. Since we are merely one manifestation of the universe’s energy in action, when we feel the need for direction we can turn to animals in nature for guidance. Animals can show us different ways to approach and deal with our challenges.

As we hold a question in mind, we can begin to pay attention to the animal activity around us. Staring out a window we may notice a bird soaring high in the sky, showing us how to look at our situation from a greater distance. If we don’t get an immediate answer, we can remember that the universe has its own perfect timing that doesn’t heed the ticking of the clock. Instead, we can release our question into the universe’s care, and then trust that an animal messenger will carry inspiration our way.

In the meantime, we align ourselves with the universe’s rhythm–opening, humbling ourselves, and shifting our perceptions so that at the perfect time we will be ready.
Then, even weeks later, the sight of a small bird hopping from branch to branch may signal for us to use a talent other than our greatest strength and to take small leaps rather than fly over details. A squirrel bounding across an open expanse of grass to stash its latest prize may remind us to check our favorite hiding places for forgotten treasure. Even if we don’t see actual animals, their representations may hold messages; whether we see them in a shape in the clouds, a picture, or a show on television, their symbolic meaning is the same.

Animals are closer to the rhythms and cycles of nature and have fewer distractions from it than humans do. That is why they are the perfect messengers when we are in need of advice. Just by being themselves, they remind us of the wisdom of the universe, and that all answers are available to us when we reconnect with our source and with those who know how to be nurtured by it.

Heal Common Cold with Reiki
by A. G. Billig

Do you remember a moment when a fly entered your room through the open window and started buzzing around the lamp? Such a small and powerless creature yet you wanted it out as soon as possible. It is the same with cold. Cold is probably the most common and harmless of the respiratory illnesses, but it can be as annoying as the intruding fly. No wonder we want it out of our body in no time.

Nothing is too much or too little for Reiki so why not use it to restore your taste and smell, and recover from a cold faster? All you have to do is set aside 30 minutes a day, ideally before you go to sleep.

The first step is to clean the energy in the room. You can use incense sticks and Reiki symbols such as Cho Ku Rei or invoke Archangel Michael. I recommend you also invoke Archangel Raphael and the beings of light to assist you in the healing process.

Then you can start working on the cold. Like any other condition in our physical body, even something as minor as cold shows a breach in the ethereal one. Therefore, it is important to clean and energize all your chakras.

Sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and imagine a ball of light way up above your head. A beam of golden light goes down through your head, down your spine, and infuses each chakra with its color: red, orange, yellow, green pink, blue, violet, and silvery white. Draw Cho Ku Rei, Sei He Ki and Dai Ko Myo on each chakra to clean, open, and energize them. Dwell on each chakra until it tells you that it’s perfectly clean and rotating in the right direction.

When all the chakras are balanced, begin the Reiki treatment. It will be more efficient because the symbols are already activated in your palms. There are four different positions you can use at the level of your head that can chase away cold.

1. The first one is placing your palms in a parallel position, on each side of your nose, covering your face from the forehead to the upper jaw. This position fights fatigue and works on the sinuses.

2. The second one is placing your palms over your temples. Your fingertips must touch the cheekbones. It is known for alleviating cold and headaches.

3. In the third position, your palms are placed on your ears. There are dozens of acupuncture spots located in the ear hence this position is essential in healing all kinds of illnesses, including cold.

4. The fourth position is placing your palms on the back of your head, your fingers on the soft side in its lower part. This position also has a relaxing effect.

Dwell on each of the four for as long as you feel necessary but not less than three minutes.

Last, but not least, allow yourself to heal. Take the time to perform the healing ritual. Make sure you get plenty of sleep and water. Eat light so that your body may use the energy to recover instead of digesting heavy meals. After the first healing sessions, you should feel better already. Depending on the severity of the cold and your experience with Reiki, you may need up to three days to get the cold out of your body.

Creating a Beautiful Home
By Madisyn Taylor

Our loving intentions can easily transform the space in which we live.

The homes we occupy are seldom ideal. A space that satisfies our basic needs may nonetheless leave us wanting where location, décor, or style are concerned. Yet every home has the potential to be beautiful. When we fill our homes with love, we transcend worldly factors such as market value and design. Our conscious, loving intentions can transform the spaces in which we live, dispelling any lingering unharmonious energy and replacing it with an ethereal beauty that is felt rather than seen. Our homes become spiritual dwellings that feel soulful and alive. Regardless of their outward appearances, they radiate love, making all who enter, including ourselves, feel instantly welcome.

Turning a space into the beautiful outward expression of your inner warmth is as easy as projecting love into it. When your intentions are sincere, you can infuse the walls of your home with your energy, your emotional sensitivity, and your generosity of spirit, turning it into a haven of affection, joy, laughter, and togetherness. It is up to you, whether you want your personal spaces to be peaceful and quiet or lively and inspiring. Begin by cultivating awareness within yourself. This will allow you to see your home as an integral part of your existence rather than somewhere you simply return to at the end of each day. Consider how you relate to each element of your space, and remind yourself that every room in your home can serve a purpose in your life and the lives of your loved ones. Finally, lovingly thank each room for providing for your needs. As you become more mindful of the manner in which your home contributes to your well-being, you will discover that, more and more, you want to love and be loved by it.

Appearance and other superficial qualities can be deceiving. An aesthetically beautiful home can prove unwelcoming. And a home that seems mundane in every characteristic can be as comforting and cozy as a beloved relative or friend. When you nurture and care for your home as if it were a loved one, it will absorb your tender intentions and project a love so touching you will soon come to feel a great affection for it.

Hemp 101
from Traditional Medicinals

Cannabis sativa L.

While cannabis has received much acclaim recently, humankind has cultivated a deep relationship with this plant for over 10,000 years. Indigenous to Central Asia, it is one of the oldest known agricultural crops in history, and for good reason. From stalk to leaf to flower, nearly every part of this plant provided for our ancestors in some way. In fact, with qualities to support mental, physical and spiritual well-being, this hardy weed proved to be a vital companion for survival.

Commonly known as cannabis, this emerald green annual plant with its iconic palm-like or digitate leaf, is scientifically identified as Cannabis sativa L. It is a genus of the Cannabaceae family which includes only one species: sativa. While previously considered three unique species, DNA testing has confirmed varieties of cannabis such as sativa, indica and ruderalis are all expressions along a spectrum of this one species.

The Difference Between Cannabis, Hemp, and Marijuana
With a plant that has achieved such cultural recognition world-wide, it is no surprise it has acquired a litany of pseudonyms. Botanically speaking, these are all common names for the same plant, Cannabis sativa L. “Marijuana,” “hemp,” “cannabis,” and “ganja” are just a few of its most notable monikers.

While taxonomically the same plant, hemp and its psychoactive brethren such as marijuana are distinguished by cultural understanding, legal definition and chemical makeup. In the U.S., the level of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the legal defining line between hemp and marijuana.

Hemp, also known as industrial hemp, refers to varieties of Cannabis sativa L., that contain less than 0.3% of the phytocannabinoid known as THC. This means, by definition, hemp can’t get you high; it’s non-psychoactive. It does, however, contain high levels of non-intoxicating phytocannabinoids.

Phytocannabinoids are plant-derived cannabinoids, as opposed to endocannabinoids which are formed naturally in the human body and help us regulate critical functions, such as eating, sleeping, etc. Despite coming from plants, phytocannabinoids work in the same way in our body by activating cannabinoid receptors. The hemp plant contains over 40 different cannabinoids.

What’s commonly referred to as marijuana, on the other hand, also belongs to the Cannabis sativa L. species, but unlike hemp, “marijuana” has been bred to contain higher amounts of THC, which can have a psychoactive effect. Those are the products that are sold in dispensaries in some states.

Starbucks Now Has A Jack Skellington Frappuccino on Secret Menu
by Trey Hilburn

Starbucks’ secret menu has lead to some strange drinks in the past. For example, you guys may recall the Unicorn Frappuccino that was all the rage for about a minute. Well, now they offer a special Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Frappaccino, that is once again off of the secret menu.

The dudes over at Totally the Bomb created this little sugary, caffeinated nightmare and we aren’t going to lie we have to at least try it.

This drink is a pretty nice mix of all things fall. It combines pumpkin and chai in a nice blend that seems pretty yummy, if not a bit overly sugary.

To create your own Pumpkin King, you are going to want to order the following:

-Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino
-Chai syrup
-Shot of espresso (for the coffee lovers)
-Mocha drizzle on sides of cup
-Whipped cream on top
-Java chips

It also seems that there is a very specific order these things need to be done in so ask for the following order:

Begin with mocha drizzle on the sides of the cup.
Ask for a Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino.
Add in a shot of Chai Syrup.
Add a shot or two of espresso.
Top it with whipped cream.
Finish with Java Chips.

Stella Embraces Superstitions
by Michael Leaverton

Cats get a bad rap when it comes to superstitions, and that’s not fair. I decided to ask my cat, Stella, how she feels about them.

Cats get a bad rap when it comes to superstitions, and that’s not fair. I decided to ask my cat, Stella, how she feels about them.

Stella, what do think about cat superstitions?
What are superstitions?

You know, that cats have nine lives or that black cats are —
Wait, did you say NINE?

Yeah, but it’s just a silly —
Oh no!

What’s wrong?
Onetwothreefourfive —

Stella, what are you doing?
Counting!

Why?
I have a serious question: When you found me on the kitchen floor today, um, asleep, did I seem a bit off to you?

Well, it took you a while to get to your feet, but considering how much you ate for —
I WAS DEAD! THAT WAS LIFE EIGHT!

Don’t be ridiculous.
Listen: The last thing I remember, I was on top of the refrigerator —

What were you doing on top of the refrigerator?
The cookies are up there.

Stella, you’re 16 with bad hips. How did you get on top of the refrigerator?
I have my ways. But that’s not the point. The point is I must have fallen off the refrigerator and that was MY LAST LIFE.

Assuming that’s true, which it’s not, you expect me to think you’ve died seven times already? When?
Remember when you thought I slept through an entire Tuesday?

After you had your way with the bean dip, I remember — wait, you’re saying you were dead?
As a doornail.

Huh.
Yeah. And you remember my fiascos — the bunny fiasco, the UPS fiasco, the comforter fiasco, the hot-sauce fiasco, the Chihuahua fiasco, etc. — they all resulted in my death.

Right, your “fiascos.” What was the Chihuahua fiasco again?
Penelope scared me to DEATH.

Huh. And I thought you were just playing possum.
Nope. All that yapping knocked the life right out of me.

Well, you did cough a hairball on Penelope’s face from our windowsill. But tell me: Weren’t you concerned that you were “dying” all the time?
No. I figured I could die every day, like humans do.

Humans don’t die every day, Stella.
You don’t? Then why do you look like that in the morning?

I look fine in the morning.
Keep telling yourself that, pal.

I hate to break this to you, Stella, but superstitions aren’t true. You aren’t really dying.
Certainly I am. I die, I trot toward the light, I see the giant magic lion, I chat a while, and then I get swept back here.

You chat with a giant magic lion?
Or a giant magic walrus. Depends if I die drowning or not.

Huh.
Yeah.

Well, be that as it may, superstitions are not true. It’s like a black cat crossing your path being —.
Do not EVER let a black cat do that, by the way. You’ll be dead by 45.

That’s absurd. Black cats are great!
You don’t have to convince me! What I would give to have that power.

So, I suppose cats on a ship bring good luck? It’s all nonsense, Stella.
The Titanic didn’t have a cat.

And how would you know that?
The giant magic walrus tells me stuff.

Did it tell you that cats can steal a baby’s breath?
No, that’s just silly. But we do know how we should vomit on the most porous material possible, even if it means crossing the room, climbing on the bed and walking to the pillow.

Stella, I think falling off the refrigerator gave you a concussion.
Is that like dying?

It’s like dying just a little bit.
How many times can you die a little bit?

At the rate you’re going, not much longer.
Watch it, pal. Don’t make me sneeze three times and give you a head cold.

Gilberto’s Dilemma
by Stephen Halpert

The hotel’s penthouse dining room overlooked Boston. The newly minted vice president in his blue soccer team blazer and his girlfriend Maria in her sleeveless black dress and cashmere cardigan breezed in. Gilberto’s head was in the clouds. For the first time in his life he had the security he had always wanted.
Ramon and Rosa, already there, sat with Karibe; he waved his wine goblet as though he were Sir Lancelot in Camelot. His other arm was around Lola, who sat practically glued to his lap. Over an open bright silk shirt affixed to a thick rope of gold hung his ancient Roman medallion.
Rosa wore her practical blue dress with gold cuffs and flats. She looked at Lola. Her mouth turned down at the way her sister was fawning over this man. Lola wore a backless jump suit and ballet slippers. She was entranced, oblivious to anyone but her giant.
“Champagne,” he roared as Gilberto and Maria joined them. Gilberto noticed Ramon also wore his blue soccer team blazer. He thought Lola looked weary, maybe tired was the better word.
“This morning we jogged all over the Back Bay,” the mighty giant roared. “For nearly two hours my little Olympian kept pace with me.” He rained kisses onto her neck. Lola wriggled and tittered.
Karibe looked at Gilberto and smiled. “You’re still in shape.”
Gilberto laughed. “For what, a little league game?”
Ramon chuckled. Rosa smiled at Maria and shook her head. “I hope you know what you’re letting yourself in for? Those two have never grown up.”
“These three,” Karibe interjected. “Now we’re a brotherhood sharing the passion of wild boys.”
“Wild Boys, I like that,” Gilberto said. “Good name for a soccer team.”
Karibe grinned at Rosa. “I’d say you and Maria have the best wild boys in town.”
Rosa sighed; she frowned and narrowed her eyes. Despite how Ramon shook his head wishing she’d stop, she went right on. “I hope you’re taking care of yourself, Karibe: seeing your physician regularly, checking your blood pressure and cholesterol. Taking vitamins and supplements. None of us are getting any younger, after all.”
“Well, that’s good news,” he chuckled. He smiled ruefully.
Gilberto noticed Lola stifle a yawn. She asked the wait person for bottled water. Maria had red wine, Rosa club soda, Gilberto and Ramon Mexican beer.
“And here we are,” the gentle giant from Caracas beamed at his two former teammates. He ordered lobsters all around and stroked Lola’s back affectionately. “This young lady’s taking me to dancing school,” He smiled in Rosa’s direction. She did not smile back.
Karibe looked to his friends: “Gilberto, Ramon, as they said in ‘The Family of Man, ‘we three form a multitude.’ We are teammates now and forever.”
Both men smiled in agreement. Rosa’s frown deepened further.
“You know,” he waved his goblet. “World soccer has a potential fan base that could well outsell and outnumber the NFL. My dream is to be part of the WSL, the new World Soccer League. Already six other national teams have signed on. Each pledged an initial five million initiatory fee.”
“Sounds like you’re on the verge of greatness,” Maria said.
He swallowed more Champagne, grinned and kissed Lola’s neck again. “I own the Caracas franchise. And as they say in the history books “We have not yet begun to fight.”
“That’s impressive,” Ramon toasted his friend. What a wealthy man he had become, he thought wistfully, thanks to living his dream and remaining involved in soccer and who knows what else.
Karibe gave his two best friends a wide grin and opened his arms. “I want the two of you in on this with me. I want you and your families to relocate to Caracas and help me make this dream a reality.”
Rosa’s frown developed into a thundercloud. “Now just a minute…” Her voice was sharp.
He ignored her. “I want the two of you to be the poster boys for the World Soccer League, totally involved: hands on running the ship, especially overseeing coaching, and fielding a championship team. You’re both legends in Central and South America.”
“From shipping to soccer,” Ramon laughed, swallowing more beer. He could see that Rosa was far from impressed and dreaded what she might say next.”
“But wait, there’s more,” the gentle giant’s eyes widened like those of a carnival pitch man. “I know you need time to think. I know I’m asking a lot of you both to make a big move like this. So, the only way I believe you’d be comfortable would be to give each of you ten thousand for openers. That should cover a nice vacation to Venezuela to check things out.”
Ramon looked gleeful. He clutched Rosa’s hand. “Now isn’t that generous,” he said.
She glared. “It’s practically a third world country.”
Karibe soldiered on: “And we’ll have the funds to pay top salaries that rival the NFL.”
“Wow, you’ve got it made,” Gilberto smiled.
“And what I need is for you two to take over player development and coaching, live in Caracas, be our poster boys for World Soccer.”
Rosa threw up her hands. “Now wait just a minute.”
But Karibe rolled over her. “Just think about it. Come for a visit; see how modern what you might think of as a third world country has become.”
He smiled and devoured a lobster tail. “Like what you see, how it feels then each of you sign a hundred thousand dollar signing bonus. That’s up-front cash money for a two-year commitment from each of you. On top of that your annual salaries start at one million American.”
Ramon’s eyes bulged. He couldn’t understand Rosa’s attitude. Just like a woman, he thought, probably worried about silly things like flush toilets.
“I’m not asking for any commitment now,” Karibe reiterated, handing each a long business envelope. “Come for a few weeks’ vacation, check things out. See how it would feel living there for three months during the season.”
Gilberto looked at Maria. He wondered what she was thinking. She hadn’t said much all evening.
“It’s not civilized,” Rosa blurted. “The girls would suffer from lack of good schools, and besides, they don’t speak Spanish.”
“Not entirely true,” Karibe said. “As we speak parts of the city are undergoing huge development: schools, libraries, art museum, even a state-of-the-art hospital.”
Gilberto thought about his promotion, the realization of his dream. Was this a new dream to be realized? He felt deeply conflicted. He sighed. For once he admitted to himself that he didn’t know what to do. He looked at Maria and tried to fathom what she was thinking, but her face was inscrutable.
Then she smiled and took his hand. “Let’s talk about this and see what we think. I love you Gilberto, and I know together we’ll make the right decision.”

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, September 20, 2020
by Georgia Nicols
https://www.georgianicols.com

All Signs
I believe that in the next few months, we will discover information and data that has been withheld. There will be surprise about this new information that comes to light. Meanwhile, this is also a time when many of us might doubt something, especially our abilities. Doubt is not your friend. It creates mental chaos. Sometimes doubt is useful, but generally, it is not. Doubt can rob your confidence and paralyze you. It’s interesting to know that the antidote to doubt is faith. Simple faith in your future. Decide to have faith in your future! (I believe that faith can move mountains – but curiously, not furniture.)

Aries (March 21-April 19)
Listen up! You will need more sleep and more rest in the next four weeks for two reasons: For starters, symbolically speaking, the Sun is now as far away from your sign as it can get all year and the Sun represents energy. This means you will be more tired. Your energy will be flagging. However, in addition, your ruler fiery Mars is in your sign now going retrograde. This is most unusual. The Sun opposite your sign happens once every year; but Mars has not been retrograde in your sign since 1988! Therefore, take care of yourself. Don’t be cocky or overconfident. Be aware of what you do and say. Take it easy and be kind to yourself.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
The next four weeks are a mixed bag. In one way, you will accomplish a lot because you are motivated. You are inspired to do your best, because you want to be productive, efficient and effective! You will also be more aware of your health. This is wonderful! However, Mars will be retrograde in a hidden part of your chart, which is bound to trigger feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt. This planetary phenomenon might trick you into being your own worst enemy. You might self-sabotage yourself. (This influence has not occurred since 1988.) By reading this, at least you will be aware of its possibilities. That’s the best thing you can do – be mindful to be aware.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
For the next four weeks, the Sun is in the most fun-loving, playful part of your chart! This is the perfect time for a vacation. It’s a great time to enjoy sports events, playful activities with children and explore the arts, especially opportunities to express your creative talents. Romance will flourish and existing relationships will be more attentive and encouraging. “Moi?” “Oui!” Venus will make you charming and pleasant. However, Mars will be retrograde in a part of your chart that deals with friends and groups. The last time Mars was retrograde in Aries was in 1988. Tread carefully with your friends. You might encounter something unexpected.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You are a nester, and the next four weeks will encourage you to feel cozy and comfortable, while you focus on home and family. Some will be involved more with a parent. In either case, you will love to cocoon at home among familiar surroundings. Family conversations will be important. Some of you will tackle home repairs. You might feel you have the money right now to do them. However, whereas before, you felt gung-ho about a particular project – now – you’re not so sure? Should you keep on track with your ideas or should you wait and rethink things? Well, as my mother always said, “It never hurts to give anything a sober, second thought.” (She was a practical gal with a sweet tooth, which meant we had two desserts a day! Lunch and dinner.)

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
It’s important to know that you’re in a four-week interval that is wild and crazy with big demands on your time! Your daily rhythm will accelerate because suddenly, you have so much to do! Short trips, errands, appointments, increased reading, writing and studying are just some things that will create your busy schedule. Fortunately, fair Venus is in Leo, and this makes you charming and diplomatic. Whatever you have to do, you will do with aplomb. (You have class and style.) Nevertheless, retrograde Mars might make you question your beliefs, question your politics and question your faith in something? Fortunately, this is temporary.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
In the next four weeks, you’ll be thinking more about money, possessions, assets and your personal values. What are your priorities? What really matters to you? You have to know what matters before you make important decisions. (This sounds axiomatic but it isn’t. Many people don’t know what really matters until they lose it.) Expect to come up with some clever moneymaking ideas in the next few weeks. You also will enjoy time spent in solitude. However, disagreements about shared property and inheritances might get bogged down. You might be forced to modify your position or rethink things. You can do this.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
This is your month! The Sun is in your sign giving you a chance to replenish yourself! It will also attract people and favourable situations to you. Mercury is in your sign as well and this makes you chatty and eager to talk to others. (Very favourable for those who teach or give speeches.) The tricky thing is that Mars is now retrograde opposite your sign. This could work to your advantage. Whereas before, you were quick to be annoyed with partners and close friends, now you might reassess things and see those who are close to you with more clarity. Could this be the beginning of wisdom? (Probably not. For that you have to read a fat book with big words.)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Don’t worry if you feel at loose ends in the next four weeks. For starters, your personal year is coming to an end. Ideally, you will spend more time being low key this month. (Last month was popular!) Now you need time to be by yourself to pull your act together and do some navel gazing. Think about goals for your new year ahead because goals help to keep you on track and they give you more clarity in decision-making in the future. They also give you a sense of purpose. Meanwhile, you might doubt your ability at work? You might have some health issues that worry you? Whatever these doubts are, they are temporary. Believe in yourself.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
You’re heading into a popular four weeks when everyone wants you on their team! You’ll enjoy this friendly, popularity, especially because you might be hanging out with younger people more than usual. Many of you have a chance to travel for pleasure (surprisingly). In any event, you will do what you can to broaden your horizons and learn new things and meet people from fascinating backgrounds. However, romance might be perplexing. In fact, not only romance but something to do with the entertainment world or show business? Something that you thought was a sure thing now looks ‘not so sure’. You’re doubting. You don’t like this because doubt is not your style. You need to have a positive belief in things, especially your future! Relax because by January everything will fall into place. (Until then, the kid stays in the picture.)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
This is the only month all year when the Sun is at high noon in your chart, acting like a spotlight on you. And this spotlight is flattering! Obviously, everyone’s impressed with you, especially bosses, parents and teachers (It’s smoke and mirrors. You don’t have to do anything special.) What an advantage! (Impossible to ignore.) This is obviously the time to make your pitch and do what you can to get what you want. It’s a powerful month! Not only that, other sources will help you. It’s a good time to ask for a loan or mortgage. The one area that is perplexing and challenging is your home and family life. Be as creative and skilful as you can to keep things cooking on all four burners.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This might be a frustrating time because you want to get outta Dodge. You want to travel and explore the world. However, most of you cannot do this. Therefore, you must think of ways to satisfy your urge to get more out of life and learn something fresh and exciting. Can you take a course? Learn a new language? You might talk to people from other backgrounds and different cultures because they will educate you. Why not travel through books and film? Fortunately, relations with those who are close to you are cozy and warm. Nevertheless, you might fear being misunderstood. You might hesitate to make your case. Do you doubt you?

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
The next four weeks will be more intense and passionate than usual but this is nothing you can’t handle. (It happens every year.) In fact, the underlying theme of this window of time will be one of self-improvement. Great! Why not be the best that you can be? Why be less? Because you will feel very much alive in the next few weeks, you might want to do some psychological self-exploration. In fact, you might meet someone who will help you do this? Financial matters regarding shared property and inheritances will be a focus. Guard against getting stalled in the water with earning money. Don’t be casual about this. Keep busy!

Weekly Horoscopes beginning Sunday, 20 September 2020

If you`re born within cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you`re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You`re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.

Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don`t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.

Aries
Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Little is as exasperating as facing others` indecisiveness or ongoing changes that prevent you finalising plans and moving on to other things. Still, tempting as it is to force issues now and over the coming week or so, it`s unlikely either the matters in question or your feelings about them will be clear until early October`s Aries Full Moon. That being the case, keep your thinking and plans flexible.

You could do without taking on any extra work. When you`re faced with having to handle another colleague`s responsibilities, keep calm. Your annoyance will subside once you realise all that`s needed is a methodical approach and plenty common sense. It would be better to replace rather than repair a broken domestic appliance. Someone will suggest it would be cheaper to buy a second hand one but in the long term you will be better off buying new.

First, remember that Jupiter is now moving forward in the aims and objectives area of your solar chart. It won`t be there for many weeks so this should be your final push forward. True, Mars is retrograde in your sign and you may have doubts. They could surface spectacularly around Tuesday`s Equinox. That could bring a make your mind up` moment. Whatever choices you make, know that from next Sunday the need to work more closely with others while still maintaining a degree of independence will be all-consuming. Note too, that by the end of this month Saturn too will be moving forward in that ambitions area and that realising some of your goals should then become easier. It`s all down to confidence and belief in yourself.

Taurus
Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Ordinarily you dislike allowing others to make decisions, large or small, on your behalf. Currently, however, you`re facing a range of situations in which you`re short of facts. Worse, with the actual circumstances shifting frequently, you`re lacking vital facts. Seek the support of those who`re more knowledgeable than you are. They are aware how much you dislike it when others offer advice, so have said nothing.

There will be moments early on in the week when you just need to spend some time on your own. Later you will feel happier when you`re sharing some sort of company. Creative pastimes will fill you with pleasure. Taking a more imaginative approach to romance is also advised. If you`re asked for an opinion about a new job-related project it will pay not to beat about the bush. The more direct you are, the sooner things can be sorted out.

You may remember that Jupiter is now moving forward in another of the Earth signs. It won`t return to this particular position for more than a decade. This then is an important time. It would of course be helpful if you knew exactly what it was that you wanted to achieve. If you can have clarity about even one or two goals before the Equinox on Tuesday, then you could set those wheels in motion before the end of the week. Yes, this is likely to require improving your qualifications and understanding.. The good news here is that it`s likely that someone whose enthusiasm for subject hasn`t waned despite all the challenges of 2020, will be there behind you offering essential support.

Gemini
Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20

Your horoscope for this week:

As an inquisitive and often restless Gemini, completely cutting ties with arrangements involving others, or practical or business matters is never easy. However, if you don`t clarify the situation now, that is over the coming days, not only will matters only get more confused, you could face the awkward situation of others believing you`re fully committed to them, when that`s by no means the case.

There is some confusion in the air. It`s advisable to double check all information before acting on it. It`s important to be compassionate even if your partner or best friend is being a pain. Resist the urge to criticise their behaviour or give them a lecture. If you and someone who is special in your life have been apart or unable to enjoy each other`s company, the end of the week could also see the end of such irritations.

You`d do well to take time out and consider motivation – particularly regarding colleagues born under one of the Earth signs of Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn. With the latter, there could be a power issue at work. Of course, you`re not the only sign to work best when you enjoy what you do. Gemini thrives on creative ideas. Someone who is pulling you back, and demanding that you focus on reality will likely not get the best from you. Yet it`s probable that there is an essential clearing-up exercise that is needed before real progress can be made; and yes, by the end of this week this could put you at odds with someone who is either too fussy or who is dragging their heels. Chivvying them might not be easy. You might need to offer an incentive. Don`t underestimate your powers of persuasion.

Cancer
Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22

Your horoscope for this week:

For ages you`ve been exploring potential changes in elements of your way of living, working or both. While, often, you`ve thought plans were settled, unexpected events or surprising offers meant rethinking things. However, you`ve reached the point at which you must make decisions. Do exactly that, but ensure it`s clear they`re an experiment, so by no means final. That will make things easier for everybody.

There`ll be ample opportunity to get involved in a team effort. You will enjoy associating with other people on a virtual campaign or neighbourhood venture. Not just for the team spirit but also for the companionship. Just be careful not to spread yourself too thin. A healthy helping of good judgement will help you choose activities likely to bring the greatest satisfaction. If you need some excitement and a little flutter provides this for you, it might be worth the price to take the risk.

As you know, it takes time to bed in a working routine. That`s arguably more easily done at the four power points of the year: the equinoxes and solstices. You may find that by Tuesday`s Equinox, that others are increasingly supportive of your aims and objectives. It`s highly likely that these will include either home or working environment improvement. Not for the first time, adjustments might need to be made. With Mars retrograde at the apex of your solar chart, this is arguably a promising time for renovating. If there is a downside, it`s that crucial decisions might need to be made before you feel ready; and yes, the mess created along the way could be considerable. Before the end of this week you`ll likely have support from an expert or a Capricorn who sees the value of this investment of time – and money.

Leo
Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22

Your horoscope for this week:

While, obviously, it`s important to keep matters involving life`s practicalities in mind, most Leos think first about whether an activity or, perhaps, relationship, is exciting and inspiring, then focus on practicalities later; and, ordinarily, that works. Now, however, not only are those practicalities crucial, what you learn when analysing them will reveal facts about the actual circumstances or people involved that, otherwise, you wouldn`t have considered.

You feel restless and in need of a change. Don`t be in too much of a rush to tie yourself down to other people`s plans. You might regret having committed yourself when you realise exactly what you`ve let yourself in for. You`re tempted to buy a beautiful luxury item. A partner will probably criticise you for being extravagant. If someone in the family suggests money could be better spent elsewhere, take their suggestions seriously.

You should probably welcome Tuesday`s Equinox as there should be a decided change in mood. True, even then you might be irritated by the fact that others want you to go back over old ground – especially if you`ve made it clear that you are no longer responsible. All that aside, it seems highly likely that like the builder of a new house, you`re preparing the ground ready to place a cornerstone. True, you might not make that placement until the end of the month. As you`ve likely learned however, preparation is key. It`s important that you know whose measurements you can rely on. In short, between Tuesday and Friday, determining who are the best experts to have in your support team will likely take much energy but also boost confidence.

Virgo
Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22

Your horoscope for this week:

The Virgo New Moon may have taken place on Thursday the 17th, but you`ll be thinking about and dealing with the ideas and events it triggered for some time to come. Profitable as the changes you`re exploring may be, ensure you keep any plans flexible. As good as they seem one day, circumstances or perhaps your priorities are likely to change, and possibly more than once.

A friend or neighbour will pique your curiosity when they reveal they`ve embarked on an exciting scheme without discussing it with anyone. As well as earning your admiration for having taken such a bold step, you might decide to make a few changes of your own. If you`ve fallen into the habit of putting other people`s wishes first, it is time to do something positive towards restoring the balance. Friendship is all about give and take.

Just two days after Tuesday`s Equinox your ruling planet Mercury, opposes Mars; and yes, with the fresh spurt of energy that the Equinox brings, and as others determine new ways of working, you should have many, many questions to raise. This though, could bring out the best in you – especially if this involves a rejuvenation, revamp or regeneration project. Your eye for detail and ability to identify what has value should do more than get you noticed. Indeed, it`s not impossible that an attractive offer will be made. If there is a difficulty or confrontation to be had, it may be with an Aries who feels you`re not making sufficiently fast progress or who wants to stick to the terms of an agreement reached at the start of the year but which you know to no longer be viable.

Libra
Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22

Your horoscope for this week:

The Sun`s move into Libra on Tuesday triggers a period of questioning certain longstanding arrangements and, equally, considering several increasingly worrying ventures. While certain matters are clear cut, others are complex, so much you`re short of facts. Despite this, do something out of character. Make plans based on what you know. The secret? Regard them as tentative, and make changes when the need arises.

Two words are important to bear in mind if you want to stay smiling. The first is negotiation and the other is cooperation. Agree to talk about it if there is anything causing conflict. Work together towards a compromise to keep those you care about happy. Financial dealings will probably be of a major rather than minor nature. If you`re looking for distanced work, jobs relating to banking, finance and property are recommended.

It`s the Equinox on Tuesday: when the Sun enters your sign. That it does so whilst the Moon is in Sagittarius suggests you could start your birthday month with an uplift. However, by Thursday, when Mercury opposes Mars, you might need to deal with a minor confrontation. It`s possible that someone is not at all happy with a piece of work you`ve produced and that they feel threatened. This though, could give you the opportunity to explore altered ways of working which, though these perhaps can`t be put into practice for a few weeks yet, leave scope for negotiation. It might help to recall that with Mars retrograde in Aries, that those born under the Fire signs (Aries, Leo or Sagittarius) may be struggling to keep their flame alive. They likely need your air and, on this occasion, confidence and belief.

Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Usually, you`re wary of destiny. However, certain recent events, ideas or offers were so perfect you agreed enthusiastically without the usual debate. While this week`s surprises could make you regret that impulsiveness, things remain as good as they seemed. This is merely about rethinking details as circumstances or your own understanding of events shifts. Trust doesn`t come easily for you. At the moment, it`s well justified.

Someone close to you will tell you something they insist is true. It could turn out they haven`t a clue what they`re talking about. They may not have meant to cause confusion but you will know to take anything they say with a pinch of salt next time. You and a partner are mentally in tune. There`s an almost telepathic link operating between you and this will promote total understanding and unison. Trust your intuition regarding your amour`s needs.

Venus is moving across the apex of your solar chart: a time of year when you sparkle. By Friday, you could be doing just that. True, you might also get caught up in a political maelstrom. Certainly, it seems likely others will want you to take sides (you don`t have to get involved). Key in all of this is Tuesday`s Equinox which brings with it a decided change of mood. Those who`ve been marking time will want to move forward. Some of their ideas may be either impractical or insensitive and yes, it could be this that drives you into taking a stance. Think carefully before you act as this could cause considerable nervous tension. On the very considerable upside, your ability to absorb information looks much increased – making this a perfect time to study.

Sagittarius
Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Over the past month or so, you`ve committed to a range of individuals and plans. While these seemed both straightforward and beneficial at the time, since then both life and the circumstances in question have become increasingly complicated. Yet you`ve said nothing. This is understandable. However, not only is it vital you update others, they could come up with solutions as clever as they are unexpected.

Before making a big decision, you will want to talk things through with people who will be affected. This could result in a vigorous debate and a one which gives you plenty food for thought. You have the energy and enthusiasm to help lift off a group venture. You have impressive leadership skills and there`s a good chance you`ll be asked to play a leading role. Fortunately, you`re up to the challenge and it will be one that you will thoroughly enjoy.

It`s the Equinox this week: a seasonal point that often brings powerful alteration in energy. That`s often accompanied by decision-making and yes, several people could go off on one, – and you might reasonably wonder why they`re doing so now, when they could have taken action earlier. Yet you too could be caught up in their excitement. True, you might also be dealing either with a health issue or disillusionment. Balancing these two themes could be stressful yet bring you to the heart of a debate that itself is energising. By Friday it should be clear that yet another approach needs to be tried. Though this perhaps can`t happen until the beginning of next month, making contact with those who could smooth the path would be a useful exercise.

Capricorn
Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19

Your horoscope for this week:

As a practical earth sign, you`re a realist. As a result, when difficulties arise, you`ll assess the situation, weigh up your options, then make a plan. However, when the actual foundation on which these are based shifting, even the simplest of plans should be regarded as more of an experiment that anything lasting. In fact, the more flexible arrangements and your attitude are, the better.

You`re bursting with energy and this will help you complete current projects. At the same time, don`t take your good health for granted. Energy levels could drop as suddenly as they have been rising especially if you don`t take time to rest and relax. You feel you want to travel and you long for a change of scenery. If you aren`t leafing through travel brochures you will be doing some internet searches to find future holiday possibilities when things are back to normal.

At Tuesday`s Equinox, the Sun arrives at the apex of your solar chart. In some ways this is `your starter for ten`. True, it`s the last day of September before Saturn stations for the last time in your sign for over three decades and it`s after then that it should really feel to be all systems go. As of Tuesday, though, you could feel an alteration in the energy fields and in the responding actions of others. They are perhaps now understanding not only the schedule they should try to keep, but where loose ends must be tidied up. Yes, this might mean determining that certain energy has indeed been wasted. Forgiving and forgetting could be one of the big themes. There is also the strong possibility of undertaking essential renovation at home. It may be that work or hobby space has to be given greater attention. It is perhaps no longer good enough to make do and mend.

Aquarius
Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18

Your horoscope for this week:

Inquisitive as you can be, about both the world around you and the activities of others, and your delight in exciting changes, when the focus is your own life, you`ll investigate at length, then make a single, lasting decision. However, as is increasingly clear, this simply isn`t possible. Tempting as it is to ignore that single reality, focus on taking chances. It`s unlikely you`ll regret it.

With you being so flexible, you`re able to tune into work and money opportunities around you. It won`t matter if you have to leave some jobs for another day so you can take advantage of the offers coming your way.. Some things can wait; some things can`t. It will be up to you to recognise what these are. A money surprise will lift your spirits. You may not receive a huge amount but you will soon receive confirmation of an increase in your monthly income.

It shouldn`t be too hard to tune into an alteration in the energy field following Tuesday`s Equinox. True, 2020 isn`t proving to be the easiest of years and until Saturn moves forward at the end of the month, it could feel as though you`re trying to drive with the brakes still on. That said, significant progress could be made. There are likely many conversations (which arguably should have taken place in recent weeks) but are only now being given full attention. You could thrive on these especially if they are connected to education or to travel. Mentally it seems you`ll have no difficulty whatsoever in moving into a faster stream. If this involves an element of research then so much the better. By the end of the week a political edge could creep in. You may be asked to take sides. Think carefully about how much energy you have available and whether or not you should concentrate more on putting your own house in order first.

Pisces
Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Since early September, amazing events have led to ideas as thrilling as, ultimately, they could be rewarding. Yet after a having faced several tricky twists and turns, you`re wary. However, these are as good as they seem. Still, if they`re to last, you must deal with certain dull but essential practical elements. It`s a small price to pay for the results you`ll get.

Asserting your independence and understanding the consequences will serve you well.. An official decision will come as something of a surprise. You may have been envisioning difficulties when it will turn out to be a warm and helpful result. People you meet will offer positive and practical advice to your long-term advantage. Try to remember promises made to a neighbour and don`t forget an evening date especially if this coincides with a birthday or anniversary.

It won`t be surprising if you find yourself at cross purposes with others. Figures might not add up quite as you`d imagined, and however hard you try, it may be that there is always yet another administrative hurdle to conquer before you can move forward. Note that this cosmic weather system will move off. For now, it`s perhaps essential to concentrate on basic administration, streamlining travel arrangements and yes, consider how you could improve qualifications. For those not so inclined, joining a book club would be another option. What all these features have in common is in reaching out and engaging. What might not be so easy to avoid is involvement in a relationship drama (not yours) where the parties involved need an audience. This though could be a draining experience.
