Light A Candle Today!
In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

Llewellyn’s Spell A Day

Magick in the Morning
July 14, 2019 by Najah Lightfoot

Arise early and go outside. Face the direction of east. Light a sage bundle or burn herbs on a hot charcoal in a fireproof cauldron.

Watch the smoke rise. Smell the aroma. Be one with the moment. Look toward the light that arises with the dawn. Witness the first call of birds who take flight as day begins.

Know you are a divine being. Know you are blessed. Know the magick is within you.

If you feel called to speak, do so. However, it’s not necessary. What’s important is your time with nature and the universe. This peaceful time is especially valuable for those who live in cities. Even cities seem to calm down before the sun rises.

When you feel ready to end the ritual, safely extinguish your sage bundle or place the lid on your cauldron. Go about your day, blessed from your magick in the morning.

Rosemary Home Blessing
July 13, 2019 by Blake Octavian Blair

Saturday is always a great day for magick for the home. I feel that our homes can use regular blessings, not just when things feel a bit off or when moving. Rosemary is associated with protection, healing, love, and purification. This is a pretty stellar combination of qualities to aim for your home to embody!

Obtain a few sprigs of rosemary and a bowl of clean water, and say a short blessing over the water. Begin at your home’s main threshold and move clockwise, dipping the rosemary into the water and using it to lightly sprinkle the water in small droplets throughout your home. Hold your intention to instill the aforementioned qualities into your home with the aid of the plant spirit Rosemary. When finished, thank the spirit, then dry and hang the sprig in your home.

Venus Coin Charm
July 12, 2019 by Devin Hunter

Happy Friday! Venus rules over love, wealth, and business and also happens to be the ruling planet for this day of the week. Create this charm to harmonize with Venusian energy and use it to increase financial prosperity.

Take thirteen pennies and draw the sigil of Venus on the heads side of each one with a red paint pen. Once the pennies dry, arrange twelve of them in a circle and place the thirteenth in the center. Draw a pentacle in the air over the center penny, then say:

“Hail Venus, Queen of Coin and Heart!
Be here now, and into this charm impart
Blessings of success and prosperity,
overwhelming abundance and clarity.
With your sign this charm is made.
From this world you will not fade.”

Keep the center coin in your purse or wallet to attract prosperity, and spend the other twelve pennies on something that makes you feel successful.

Tiger Lily Courage Spell
July 11, 2019 by Kate Freuler

The tiger lily, also known as the ditch lily, grows profusely in many parts of the world. These bright orange flowers fearlessly flourish beside highways, in ditches, and in gardens. We can look to this hardy, bold lily when we need the courage and strength of a tiger. If you cannot find a tiger lily, any orange flower can be used instead.

For this spell you will need a small twig to represent yourself, a tiger lily petal, and thirteen inches of orange thread.

Hold the twig in your hand and imagine yourself bravely facing the adverse situation in question like a boldly roaring tiger. Then hold the tiger lily petal up in front of the sun so the rays illuminate it. Declare:

“Orange flower, fiery sun,
I’m as courageous as a tiger!”

Wrap the stick with the petal, symbolically enveloping you with courage, then bind it with the thread. Leave this charm in a sunny spot or carry it with you until you no longer need it.

Talisman for Defiance
July 10, 2019 by Ember Grant

On this day in 1040, legend says that Lady Godiva rode naked on horseback, covered only by her long hair, for tax relief. Despite a lack of solid historical evidence, the legend of Godiva’s famous procession remains a symbol of protest. Coventry once hosted an annual reenactment of the ride. Today the Godiva Festival has evolved into a three-day music event.

Largely considered myth, the story is still an inspiration for standing up for something you believe in. To that end, choose a piece of jewelry (or other item) to use as a talisman for your personal protest. It can be a literal symbol of a cause you support or a more private reminder of something you’re fighting for. Charge your item using this chant:

“For this cause I stand, I fight.
I hold true to what is right.
This symbol helps me stay on track,
keeps me strong under attack”

Spread it Around
July 09, 2019 by Barbara Ardinger

When one door closes, we’re fond of saying, another door opens. Really? Some days it seems like every door we come to is locked. Nothing’s open. If you find yourself feeling poor and unhappy, start with this simple key to open those locked doors: a dime.

We know that magic works better if we spread it around. Collect ten bright, shiny dimes, put them in your right-hand pocket, and take a walk. At each intersection you cross, drop a dime on the sidewalk and say:

“For those in need.”

Drop dimes near the doors of stores. If someone says, “Did you drop that dime?” shake your head and say, “It’s yours.”

When you’ve given away nine dimes, cup the last dime between your hands and say:

“For those in need. For me, too,
for I’m in need right now.”

Keep this dime at your workstation or on your altar.

Accomplishment Spell
July 08, 2019 by Dallas Jennifer Cobb

Mondays are the beginning of the work week for most of us and are a great day to do a spell to inspire accomplishment. Whether you are self-employed or work for someone else, take a moment to think of three things you would like to get done this week. They could be tasks at work or at home, for your employer or for you. Don’t worry, everything doesn’t need to be done in one day. Set your sights on having these tasks done by week’s end. Plant the seed and let accomplishment grow. Chant:

“I know the limits of my physical energy, Goddess be with me.
I know the limits of time and space, Gods be with me.
I know the limits of work and worry, Goddess bless me.
I work steadily without delay or hurry, Gods be with me.
These tasks I will accomplish, Divine ones be with me.”

Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse ~ For All Signs Of The Zodiac
by Rubys Readings

The Moon is Full in the sign of Capricorn on July 16, 2019, and it’s a partial Lunar Eclipse. It comes together around 4:39 PM CST, 5:39 PM EDT. The Eclipse occurs when the Moon in Capricorn opposes the Sun in Cancer.

This is an especially potent Full Moon, being its a Partial Lunar Eclipse, so our focus turns towards our relationships under this lunation. But also our work and family lives.

Eclipses create the energy of crisis in our lives, and often they bring up what we are lacking. This is a time when we can suddenly realize there’s something missing, perhaps a need or want we can’t seem to fulfill. This Eclipse can actually split some relationships up, but it also brings folks together. Suddenly, we may realize that there’s a need to have other folks around helping support us. This is also about making sure the foundation of our soul tribe of friends and family is strong. But Lunar Eclipses are not always about relationships, they can also bring up certain needs in other areas of our life, such as our relationship to our work, or to our health and bodies, it really can be about anything. The Full Moon lights up our deeper feelings that have been just sitting below the surface to be dealt with.

Under the Full Moon, we can be very emotional and express ourselves without warning. This is a time when some folks will claim out loud what they are really about and what they want in life. We are reacting from a strong but illogical emotional place. Lunar Eclipses are stronger and more potent than a normal Full Moon, so its effects can last up to about six months after it occurs.

Lunar Eclipses are about relationships and with the Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Capricorn, (which is what a Full Moon is anyways, when the Sun and Moon meet up in opposition) we must take a closer look at our needs, lacks and wants in our lives, and the balance we need to work on. This Full Moon is about our personal or private lives so behind closed door, and our need for a safe home base, and also how we nurture ourselves. The other side of this energy is our public life, career, reputation, and how we take responsibility. Being attached and our love is ruled by Cancer, while our success and rewards and also our punishments are ruled by Capricorn energy. This polarity deals with balancing unconditional and conditional love. The Cancer energy involved encourages us to value our home life and that foundation we’ve created, as well as our past and where we come from, while the Capricorn energy just want us to take some responsibility along with our professional lives. Cancer energy is about being content with being dependent, Capricorn wants us to grow the hell up and take responsibility! Cancer energy also represents the beginning and where we come from, and Capricorn is about the goals we set. Ideally, setting some sort of balance between these two energies is what the Full Moon is asking us to do.

This Full Moon is helping us learn how to strike a balance between our commitments to our work and families both. As we’ve been holding onto something emotionally that’s very important, as the Cosmos is reminding us via the Full Moon that it’s still there to let out and express how we are feeling, so these issues to be released. Hopefully, over time we’ll have all the information we need to better understand what all of this means.

The Full Moon energy brings up an inner conflict to be dealt with, and it can prove difficult to sit with such strong feelings, so we need to find ways to express them. This causes that crisis situation, as some kind of sudden awareness around what we are lacking in our life usually comes up! This is an opportunity to figure out what we need. So during this highly emotionally charged time, our relationships can be challenging, and either broken or dramatically made even stronger. We also may experience some kind of major Ah-Ha moments or epiphanies. Which leads us to learning more about what we don’t have, and taking some actions to obtain it.

Full Moons and especially Lunar Eclipses bring up issues in our lives to finish something. Our emotions are stronger than usual and there’s often some sort of drama involved around whatever part of our own personal Astrology Birth Chart the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse is cruising through. That’s the area of our life that the Cosmos is pushing us to make much-needed changes in. There can be some serious drama in whatever part of our life this Eclipse is going through. So a path is often revealed to us, so we can move towards it and make things better, if we understand it or not, it is trying to align us with our true Soul Journey, as our life destiny is at play. Usually, these issues are something we’ve been sitting on or ignoring, so our emotions have been building, and this Eclipse helps us realize they are still there, we just haven’t chosen to work through them yet. The Full Moon’s light and energy draw them out into the open, so if we get in touch with our emotions we can get a much more clear idea about what actually needs to be done or changed and let go of.

The Lunar Eclipse occurring in the sign of Capricorn sets off our inner awareness about the flaws in the structures we’ve built in our lives, especially in our careers and involving our home and family life. So there are serious decisions that need to be made to fix things. This Lunar Eclipse is a powerful one with confrontational energy, because it’s making a conjunction to psychological and powerful Pluto, and is opposite Mercury (now in Retrograde). This brings out intense emotional reactions compulsive behavior, and of course, power struggles around crisis situations, so this can be quite a complicated time, as there’s a stronger need to do something, it can cause us to feel a sense of urgency. Take some time for yourself and try to relax while we get through this strong energy.

Tarot Card of the Week
by biddytarot

KING OF CUPS

It’s time to master your emotions and intuition. With Neptune now retrograde in its home sign of Pisces, emotions, intuition, and imaginative pursuits may be a little off-kilter and cloudy. The King of Cups is here to remind you that you are the leader of your emotional self, and you have the power to navigate challenges with an emotionally balanced and calm approach.

If others around you are succumbing to heightened emotions, you can choose to stay firm on your personal boundaries and steer clear of the drama. With these energies at play, the key is to assess situations with a blend of logic and intuition, and draw on your emotional maturity for best results.

Ask the Tarot: “How can I create a better balance between my head and my heart?”

Heartwings Love Notes 888: Summer Staycation or Vacation

Heartwings says, “Staying home and relaxing can present challenges.”

Ordinarily Stephen and I plan to travel elsewhere for our wedding anniversary. This July, when we normally would go away, it has been so hot and humid we decided that lingering in the air conditioning of our home was the best course to follow. It was just too hot to enjoy walking around anywhere outdoors or even to be driving, although the air conditioner in our car works well. The humidity added to the heat took my energy away and turned me into a dishrag.

A favorite way we relax and have fun at home is to watch some of the movies Stephen has added to our collection. Always thrifty, he is prone to peruse a site called Second Spin, a wonderful source for second hand DVDs and a good place to find fun movies one might have missed when they were in the theaters. In addition we stocked up on snacks and simple food for meals. All set for the staycation, we began by deciding when we might watch a movie.

It was then that I realized this was a perfect time to catch up on some email correspondence. Then I remembered that I had a bunch of laundry left over from the past spate of rainy days–I use the dryer as little as possible so as not to shrink Stephen’s tee shirts or cause clothes to wear out faster. As I listened to my mind I realized that as soon as I thought about sitting down and relaxing my sense of duty rose up and told me I was neglecting things I ought to be doing.

It became clear to me that it was almost more difficult to have a relaxing staycation than to pack up and go where there was nothing I needed to do. This struck me as counterproductive. As I realized this, I reined in my sense of duty, thanked it, and told it I didn’t need it right then so please to be quiet and enjoy the movie. Later in the month when some friends invited us for a visit, we packed lightly and departed joyfully to join them. It turned out to be a real vacation. Our kind hostess wouldn’t let me do a thing to help and insisted on caring for us as if we were in a five star hotel.

May you enjoy your time off whether you are a home or away.

Blessings and Best Regards,Tasha Halpert <tashahal@gmail.com>

P.S. Which do you prefer? Relaxing in the comfort of your home or departing for somewhere you can do things or just relax? A getaway or a home stay? I love it when you share your stories, and I promise to respond soon.

Heal Your Cat Spell
by Ellen Dugan

This Friday night, tap into the loving energies of a Venus day and the tides of the waning Moon and work this spell for healing your beloved enchanted cat. Burn a green candle for Bast and a pink candle to invoke warm, fuzzy feelings and to represent the affection you feel for your kitty. Add a picture of your cat to rest between the candles, or just a few loose strands of cat hair (you know there are a few of those lying around-probably on your clothes). Once the candles are lit, hold your cat gently in your lap or arms, and repeat the charm.

Cat-headed Goddess Bast, Please hear my call,
Send healing to my cat
As the night falls.
With the energies of
Tonight’s waning Moon,
Banish sickness and injury, Bring health soon.

Rifts in Reality?
July 14, 2019 | Sue Vincent

There was a fleeting conversation that got me thinking again on something I have pondered over for a long time. There are lots of ghost stories flitting about, wafting their sheets for our delight, some making us shiver even more as they approach the reality with which we are more familiar. Somewhere in the back of our minds lurks that question… ‘What would I do if I saw a ghost?’

There is, perhaps, an even better question. Who says you haven’t? How would you know? Unless they adapt their appearance to our preconceptions, how can you be sure that the person you pass in the street is real?

We don’t even know what a ghost is. Everyone seems to have an opinion. Are they the shades of the departed? Undispersed etheric energy, some form of earth energy? Optical illusion or a vision of the soul? Phantom memories of past events imprinted on the ether? Figments of our imagination, created from within our own minds somehow? Or just plain bunkum. There seems to be a general consensus that they are something…

Perhaps the most equivocal, but strangely accurate definition I’ve heard is that they are perceived figures that cannot be physically present. That just leaves it wide open as far as definitions go…

There are the classic signs, like temperature drops and the hairs on your neck standing on end… but does that happen every time…or only sometimes? Unless a ghost does something fairly obvious… like walking through walls, dripping gore or tucking its head under some other part of its ectoplasm, we really can’t know whether or not what we think we see is actually there.

For starters…it isn’t. Nothing is what we perceive it to be… walls are not solid… we know there is space between the various particles that make what we see as a wall and, were we to drink Alice’s potion and become small enough, we could walk right through solid reality. Equally, were our own particles to disperse, we could, in theory, flow through the spaces between.

The ‘space between’ is a good phrase. It reminds me of a conversation shared up on the moors. It is a long story… but to be brief, we wondered about the reality of time and whether ghosts were not perhaps due to a glitch in the veil between ‘nows’… perhaps heightened emotions alter something… When we see phantoms, are we actually seeing reality, but across the veil of time… and would we appear to them as phantoms too?

Time, space, physicality and the true nature of reality comes into such discussions and as soon as you ask one question, another half a dozen appear. And there are no objective answers… only empirical ones. Except for one that seems to make its presence felt fairly rapidly… that we do not fully understand either the nature or extent of reality. Not by a long way.

Which basically means that just about anything is possible. I rather like that idea.

Stephen Halpert
The Gold Pen

Tommy Jeffries found the gold quill pen on the floor at the back of the storage unit near where he lived in Philadelphia that he had rented to hold his extra stuff. Unlike pens of today it was oddly shaped with curious antique filigree.
He liked the way it fit in his hand. When he unscrewed the top from the bottom, he found that it contained ink. How odd, he thought. That makes no sense. Quill pens don’t usually contain ink. Must be some new design.
His long legs took him quickly to the storage office. “Anyone lose a pen?” He asked the clerk inside.”
She shook her head. “No, not that I know of,” she said absent mindedly. “You’re the first person to rent that unit since the facility was expanded.”
“I found…” he began as he searched through his jacket pockets. But he discovered it wasn’t there.
Back in his apartment when he emptied his pockets, to his surprise there it was. A little spooked, he examined it. Squinting at it, he studied the odd markings. He could make out the form of an eagle. The pen was heavier than any pen he’d ever had– bulky as though it was weighted in some way.
He tried to take it apart but now he couldn’t. The point and the chamber with the ink were firmly affixed. He wondered how he could ever add any more. Puzzled, he placed it on the shallow tray atop his computer desk. He looked at it and blinked. How odd, it seemed to glow.
He shook his head in bewilderment and went to make himself a cup of instant coffee. As he sat back down at his desk he felt a sudden intense yearning to use it to write something. Tommy wasn’t a writer. Very infrequently a few funny thoughts would come to mind, usually to be set down in a birthday or greeting card. Now he felt a persistent, overwhelming urge to write. He picked it up. Immediately scads of words cascaded through his mind.
As he wrote, he had no idea what he was writing. It didn’t seem to make much sense. Nothing followed any kind of cohesive order. An hour later he discovered he had filled many pages, but in an elegant, old fashioned looking handwriting that differed considerably from his usual lazy scrawl. Even though it was still afternoon he felt unusually tired. He went into his bedroom and lay down. Within moments he was fast asleep.
His phone rang, waking him. He sat upright, rubbed his eyes. He remembered a weird dream. He was somewhere he’d never been; in a room filled with old wooden furniture that included a writing desk and on it a gold pen much like the one he now had.
Maize was on the phone. “You said you’d call,” his girlfriend said.
“I got real tired and fell asleep.” He yawned.
“From what? You haven’t worked for the last three weeks.”
“Just tired,” he yawned again. “Can’t explain but my whole body feels worn out, like my energy’s out to lunch.” Maize snorted. “I’m coming over.”
A short while later she came into his studio apartment . When she saw him up close, her frown was replaced with concern. Tommy’s face was as white as a ghost. He really had no zip. He stared at her blankly.
She took a deep breath. “Ok what’s going on?”
“If I could tell you I would. But I can’t, I’ve no idea unless maybe I’m coming down with something like mono.”
It didn’t take much to agitate Maize. She pushed her red curls back from her face and glared at him. “I think you need medical attention. Bet you’ve been partying all night. That could do it.”
He stared at her blankly. “I went to bed well before eleven.” Then he went to his computer desk to show her the pile of pages he had filled. They weren’t there. Neither was the pen. A cold chill ran through him. Worse, he couldn’t stop himself from yawning.
“Start at the beginning and tell me all this again?” Tommy thought Maize sounded like a cop trying to get to the bottom of something that made absolutely no sense.
He told her what happened from the start: the storage facility, finding the gold pen on the floor of his unit. He tried describing it but all he could remember was the eagle along its side. He continued to yawn.
“You’re certainly not in any condition to go out partying with me tonight. So much for the 4th of July bash with my office mates.”
He yawned again and smiled blankly.
Now she was genuinely upset. “You know something Tommy, you’re weird.” Then with a huff, she stood up and left.
Moments later Tommy saw the pen. It was in plain sight here he had left it on his work station. It glowed brilliantly. He felt compelled to pick it up. Intense vitality surged through his body. Words filled his head. He saw a stack of writing paper one side of his computer desk. As it held the pen, his hand began swirling letters into words. He had no idea what they meant or where his thoughts were originating.
After a while his head spun, he felt breathless. He went to the window, opened it, and breathed. Then he turned and saw that he wasn’t in his apartment any longer. He looked around and saw old wooden furniture with worn embroidered coverlets. His head swam. He kept hearing voices. Overcome with a need to get away he staggered down the stairs and outside.
The night air was thick with the scent of flowers. Those who passed him were dressed in old fashioned clothing. Then he saw Maize coming toward him. Some of her red curls had escaped her bonnet.
She beamed lovingly and touched his arm. “Aren’t you glad,” she said. “The war’s over. We’re all free now. The soldiers have all sailed back to England.”
Tommy’s head spun. What was she talking about? “I don’t understand.”
“You’re so modest Tommy. But like Dr. Franklin told the Congress you’re the only person who could have written the Declaration.”
What was she talking about?
“Do you still have the gold pen? The one General Washington gave you as a tribute for a job well done? Dr. Franklin told me that before he left for New York the general said you deserved to keep it forever.”

If you`re born within cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you`re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You`re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.

Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don`t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.

Aries

Personal theme: I am!!

Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Having battled to turn ideas you`re passionate about into plans, you`re in no mood to discuss further changes. Not only do you have no choice, once you learn more about these, you`ll realise they`re a slightly different version of what you`ve been working towards for ages. Minor issues worry you; but, for now, focus on the big picture. The more you learn, the more excited you`ll be.

Ideas are being thrown around your workplace and you are enjoying some stimulating conversations. As well as bringing up ways of making money, these are also centred on possible new projects to come. This could be your chance to get paid for exercising your creativity. You might want to try to meet new neighbours. Take time out of your busy schedule to attend a community event or casual gathering or get together.

This week`s cosmic markers include a lunar eclipse on Tuesday and Mercury`s return to Cancer on Friday. Reflection, rethinking and altered direction is probable for all signs. You may know that for the last couple of years, the two planets Saturn and Pluto had been in close alignment. Like two magnets coming together the force between them is compelling. This pairing has a justified reputation for pruning and yes, for austerity. In the early part of this week that may be your main aim and objective. Note however, that by Friday, you might wonder if there is danger of the baby being thrown out with the bath-water. Preserving what is truly valuable and honouring your natural talents will likely require careful consideration. In this, you will likely get good advice from a relative or someone born under Cancer who understands your priorities.

Taurus

Personal theme: I have!!

Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Tempting as it is to either battle to overcome obstacles or, alternatively, try to strike an accord with those who you disagree with, you`re urged to take it slowly. Unlikely as it seems there`ll be changes, still less a solution everybody can live with, sudden developments in early August could do the trick. For now, focus on decluttering arrangements so you can move swiftly when the time comes.

If you`ve been looking for a new place to live, your wish might soon be granted. Be open to exploring areas you wouldn`t normally consider. A bank or lending institution could offer you a great rate on a home loan. It`s important to make more time for hobbies, parties and relaxation. The more relaxed you are, the more you will enjoy the opportunities coming your way for romance and new friendships.

By Friday, Mercury will have exited the `assets` area of your solar chart and returned to the sign of Cancer brining focus to local transport arrangements, and easy access to knowledge. You might even find yourself involved in a campaign to save a library. At whatever level, and bearing in mind the important lunar eclipse on Tuesday, you may have had enough of others telling you what is not possible and instead be focused on what needs to be treasured and yes, perhaps archived. Financial matters will surely be a priority for all signs. The news of about how some monies have been either misspent or misappropriated will surely cause anxiety midweek. Your own entrepreneurial spirits are set to be fired up – especially over Thursday and Friday. With a clear idea of what you feel can be achieved before your birthday next year, you might even give thought to arranging a `blue skies thinking` day soon – albeit with the presence of a financial manager or budget controller.

Gemini

Personal theme: I think!!

Air sign: May 21 — June 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Some would say that with your ruling planet Mercury retrograde, discussions about important matters are unlikely to achieve much. True, the confusion you`re facing won`t simply vanish; but a combination of worthwhile discussions and fortunate circumstances will turn the possibilities you`re discussing into solid plans, and possibly overnight. While you may not finalise plans now, you`ll have no doubts about it all working out as you hoped.

There are areas of your life that need more attention. If your family life has been neglected, take this opportunity to rectify the situation. Prepare a lavish meal for your nearest and dearest or organise a family reunion. There are some strange things going on at work. Keep a close eye on a rival and quietly observe your surroundings. Someone is hiding information from you. A job opening can put you on a better path so it`s well worth looking into it.

Mercury, your ruling planet is still retrograde. By next weekend it will have returned to Cancer for a few weeks. You too might wish to take a step back. You perhaps have not had sufficient time yet to consider the magnitude of decisions and proposals suggested since the Solar Eclipse on July 2nd. Coinciding with this week`s lunar eclipse, facts could be brought home to you – and may be quite unsettling. Yet it may be that you`re caught in a pincer grip. Given the nature of this particular eclipse, it could be that financial controls prevent you from moving in the direction you would prefer to take. Yet if one door is closing, it`s likely that another is already ajar. Given your extraordinary ability to see things that others miss, it may be that before the weekend you sense an opportunity. Though you may not be able to seize on this until after Mercury returns to its retrograde degree in mid-August, assessing energy and assets could yet prove a valuable exercise.

Cancer

Personal theme: I feel!!

Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Despite the intensity of the shake-ups triggered by early July`s Cancer eclipsed New Moon, you`ve dealt with each change, issue, question or, in some cases offers. You`re increasingly confident what will work and what may need more thought. Even more, as an intuitive water sign, you`re refusing to be rushed into plans you`re still unsure about. Be patient. They`ll come together but probably not until early August.

Home is where the heart is. Family life is starting to improve and spending time with your loved ones will give you pleasure. The same can`t be said about travel when visiting unfamiliar places will seem to bring nothing but frustration. If your intuition prompts you to postpone a journey, trust it. Stick to familiar surroundings, routines, places and faces and there will be plenty to keep you happily engaged and occupied.

Tuesday`s lunar eclipse is in your opposite sign. Though it`s rare for major events to take place on the day of the eclipse itself, it is felt that these cosmic punctuation marks and the changed vibration that occur around them, are key factors in altered behaviour. Presently there is even greater accent than usual on partnerships and family affairs. You may also feel that you are concluding one way of working. Whilst a new schedule or daily routine perhaps can`t get underway for some weeks yet, agreeing what can be afforded may be the subject of much discussion. Property matters too could have considerable attention. Your career journey might also be affected. It may be that a project that`s been much discussed since the start of the year, is found to have insufficient capital funding to allow it to move ahead just yet. It is possible that this is a temporary blip given that Mercury is presently retrograde. It could be that all systems become go yet again from mid-August.

Leo

Personal theme: I will!!

Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Looking back on the recent unsettling yet informative events, you`re recognising how much you learnt, dealt with and the unworkable arrangements you shed. This is a relief but you`re less clear what`s next. You may not be feeling patient but, ideally, you`ll wait until you`re benefitting from the insights that come with the Leo New Moon on 1 August. After that, things will be much clearer.

If you have anything important to do, try to arrange it so you are left to your own devices. Instead of putting off a job you aren`t looking forward to, just get on with it. If this means spending less time on fun and friendships, so be it.. Besides, distractions will only slow you down. A new neighbour has strong group involvements and before the week is through you could be joining a club or society that shares your interests and enjoy the same things as yourself.

It might help to remember that Mercury is retrograde in your sign, and that being in reflective mood would not be abnormal. Add to this Tuesday`s lunar eclipse and yes, there`s high probability of you wanting to turn the clock back. That though, isn`t an option. There may be both relationship and property matters that require immediate attention. Yet you likely know that you don`t yet have all the facts or that others are still so disturbed that they`re not in a position to make clear judgement either. This week may be about marking time and considering the very many options on offer. Financial matters will surely take priority. The good news is that the difficult cosmic weather starts to clear after the lunar eclipse. Indeed, by the weekend, you, along with many other signs, should be enjoying blue skies thinking and seeing at last a way forward -even if that will take some weeks before it can really be undertaken.

Virgo

Personal theme: I analyse!!

Earth sign: August 23 — September 22

Your horoscope for this week

No sign is better at examining a plan, project or, indeed a problem and knowing what`s needed. Still, you could struggle with confusion triggered by July`s two powerful eclipses and, the disarray that comes with your ruler Mercury`s retrograde cycle, until 1 August. While this slows progress, it`s the perfect time to declutter your life, especially of passions that really must become part of the past.

People know how capable and resourceful you can be and that`s why they are looking to you to help sort out a group project. Although you had other plans, your conscience will guide you to these more serious affairs. Others can rely on you to handle an important assignment. Be sure to take the opportunity to get out and about when you can. Some form of sporting interest would be a good way to blow away those mental cobwebs.

Though Tuesday`s Lunar Eclipse isn`t in your sign, the fact that it accents the risk or speculation area of your solar chart, suggests that at some level you might wish to put the brakes on a project. It may be that you now lack the resources to take this much further. Recall that Mercury, your ruling planet, is presently retrograde. Along with many other signs of the zodiac you may be in reflective mood. These are arguably not best conditions for moving forward. For now, considerable risk assessment – together with discussions most likely with those born under the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, seem set move at new pace. You may yet come up with the seeds of a plan that can be put into motion from mid-August. when you will likely have gathered sufficient support to ensure that what was once viewed as idealistic can in fact be grounded and made practical.

Libra

Personal theme: I balance!!

Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22

Your horoscope for this week:

If you`ve been trying to keep certain tricky business arrangements afloat or, equally, dealing with stressful personal relationships, you`ll be both exhausted and wondering how it will all end. Actually, the outcome will be far better than you dare dream possible. The price, however, is patience. For now, discuss and deal only what you must. Sudden changes in early August will change everything, often overnight.

A close friend or neighbour needs some advice. You aren`t sure you can help them, but they are insistent. You could offer words of reassurance but instead you should be putting your own needs first. For after all, if you can`t get your own act together, how can you help others around you? You`re thinking of making some home improvements. Housemates will like your ideas and you will get plenty support from those who matter.

Tuesday`s Lunar Eclipse accents the very base of your solar chart and yes, could mark a significant ending – or start of a transition phase. Focus on investments, – and particularly self-investment is probable. It could be argued that with Mercury retrograde, this is the optimum time to act. Before next weekend, Mercury will have returned to the career area of your solar chart. Revising your position in light of recent developments is probable and could well lead to major discussion with those who have experience in an area about which as, yet you know little. It might take until mid-August before you`re in a position to advance these revised aims. This week it should be clear where energy and investment has been misplaced and where it might be better to put full focus. Throughout all this, the advice and information offered by those born under either Cancer or Leo, though very, very different, could be equally important. Both may be willing to champion your cause.

Scorpio & Ophiuchus

Personal theme: I desire!!

Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21

Your horoscope for this week:

For weeks, if not months, you`ve been trying to avoid committing to changes you`ve regarded as overwhelming or which you feared would undermine your control in certain pivotal situations. Yet now events are giving you no choice. Actually, that`s best because those worrying changes are vital breakthroughs, although you won`t realise it until after everything is settled. Risky as plunging in seems, it`s the best solution.

You`re in one of your wanting to be alone moods and not everyone can understand this. This will cause some strain in relationships. A new friend or partner will think you`re being awkward. To prove this isn`t so, you might secretly arrange a surprise for them. A job offer fills you with excitement. Instead of struggling to make ends meet you will soon have enough cash left after paying bills, for luxuries.

By next weekend Mercury, presently retrograde, will have returned to another of the Water signs and an area of your solar chart associated with higher education. Though clearly, much depends on your age, you could be prompted to consider retraining or adjusting course choice. Note that on Tuesday there is a Lunar Eclipse. Very often this marks a `chapter closing` but yes, also the opening of another. It may not be possible to discuss with the people that you really need to talk to in an open conversation just yet – though that could come when Mercury returns to its retrograde degree in the middle of August. Until then, you may not have sufficient facts to support your plans. What should be obvious after the eclipse and before next weekend, is that you have many people supportive and sympathetic to your position. There is no need to make a drama out of a crisis but rather to start thinking ahead to when certain difficulties have been resolved.

Sagittarius

Personal theme: I see!!

Fire sign: November 22 — December 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Usually, you`re the first to spot and take advantage of offers or new ideas, even those others question. Yet now it`s you who`s unsure whether to pursue what`s arisen. These events, triggered by the powerful link between Mars and your ruler Jupiter may seem overwhelming now. Take those first few steps, however, and you`ll wonder why you hesitated for even a moment.

You sense a younger member of the family could be getting themselves into troubled waters. They will insist there`s nothing wrong, but you know, from experience, that if they continue on the same path, they`re going to get into trouble. Find a way to distract them without making it seem as if you`re interfering. It will take some time to settle into a new work project. Because of this it won`t be easy to switch yourself into a relaxed frame of mind at the end of each day.

Though this week`s Lunar Eclipse isn`t in your sign, it is probable that you will be affected by decisions taken by others that effectively put them on different track to you. This particular Lunar Eclipse aligns with Pluto in Capricorn. It may be that you feel the need to put the financial brakes on. Certainly, the first half of this week looks as though it will be a tough time. Family matters will no doubt command attention as will protecting assets. Once this eclipse is in the past however, and even though Mercury is still retrograde, significant career progress can be made. A strong possibility is wanting to talk about old endeavours with someone who would like to revive these or ensure that information is archived efficiently. A further possibility is that someone older will ask you to be custodian of either an item or knowledge. This though might require you to consider optimal ways of presenting and preserving material.

Capricorn

Personal theme: I use!!

Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Unsettling as the events triggered by the recent Capricorn eclipsed Full Moon may have been, you`ve long known something would have to give. Tempting as it is to discuss events in detail, with an eye to imposing order on this chaos, it`s far too early. For now, your time and effort are best focused on considering how to fit recent changes in with existing arrangements.

You thrive in familiar surroundings and you enjoy familiar routines. You will be getting on well with family, friends and neighbours. Having a home that is peaceful and comfortable helps you feel content and relaxed. Take this opportunity to organise your world. Nothing makes you feel more productive than launching a cleaning project. It always makes you feel good to clear the clutter from your living and work spaces.

Tuesday`s Lunar Eclipse is in your sign and aligns with Pluto. This could be thought of as a major cosmic full-stop. Though it`s rarely the case that an event occurs exactly on the day of the eclipse, you may sense you are indeed coming to a turning point and seeing the closure of one chapter. Property and family matters may well be involved. A further possibility – particularly in the working scene, – is that you will be asked to reconsider how traditional material has been presented. It may be that this needs to be updated and refined. Though initially this might present a mountain of difficulties, once the lunar eclipse is in the past, the way forward should appear smoother. Of course, it`s also likely that you will be asked to work within an extremely tight budget. Finding ways around constraints could be viewed as this week`s major theme.

Aquarius

Personal theme: I know!!

Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18

Your horoscope for this week:

It`s true, if you accept offers or join in with others` plans, you`ll relinquish a certain amount of your freedom.. Wait or, worse, ignore these and you could miss a cycle of growth, which includes venturing into new, unfamiliar yet exciting territory. Usually, you`d chat with others and ask lots of questions. Things are moving too swiftly for that. It`s either get involved now or wonder what you bypassed.

Your tremendous energy and high spirits help you see the bright side of every situation. These are exciting and fast-moving times for you. Fun, laughter and adventure are coming your way. Ignore anyone who tells you to act your age. You need an outlet for your energy, or you will grow restless. Play your cards right and a business transaction will produce pleasing financial results. You`re optimistic about the future

You may recall that Mercury is presently retrograde in your opposite sign. By the end of this week, it backs out of that sign and returns to Cancer. Many people will have reason to go back – not necessarily on their word, – but need to retrace steps. This is further underlined by the lunar eclipse on Tuesday which, aligning with both Saturn and Pluto, suggests that for many people, it will be necessary to put a brake on plans or at least refine these. Looking back to see what can be salvaged might not at first appear to be your idea of fun. Yet creative juices could yet flow. Waste management might also have your full attention. It would be wise not to underestimate your particular skill at reaching back and finding a bridge to the future. True, you could have moments of intense sentimentality along the way. It`s likely though, but by Friday you will manage to convince someone to preserve an item or to celebrate an important anniversary.

Pisces

Personal theme: I believe!!

Water sign: February 19 — March 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Recent discussions regarding intriguing ideas were exciting yet, for reasons you couldn`t pinpoint, made you wary. Now that it`s a week later, you`re wondering if the moment has passed. It hasn`t, but you must move swiftly, stating your interest clearly. This by no means constitutes a commitment, although once you`ve asked a few questions and learnt more, the odds are good you`ll want to make one.

You rarely pamper yourself but denying yourself of luxuries can make you miserable. Indulging your sensual side will give you a lift. Get a massage, luxuriate in a scented bath or treat yourself to a gourmet meal. This will be a good time for meeting people and making new friends. Feeling connected to a supportive group of people is essential to your happiness so be open to ways to expand your social network.

Though Tuesday`s lunar eclipse isn`t in your sign, you might still be aware of others closing a chapter. You though might experience desire to tidy things up, prune and get rid of items that either cause distress or are too costly to maintain. Most signs will surely find that the start of this week is excellent space clearing; but yes, it`s also true that many will put austerity measures into place. Recall though, that an eclipse coupled with Mercury`s retrograde status, brings the risk of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. On more than one occasion you might need to persuade someone that they are acting too hastily. It should though, be obvious that certain people really need to move on. Idealism rules especially over Thursday and Friday. This might be the time to pull together the items you will need for a project you intend to start in September.
