Light A Candle Today!
In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. BIDDY TAROT CARD OF THE WEEK
From Biddy Tarot

SEVEN OF CUPS

The card drawn for this week is the Seven of Cups.

You may find that you have many options and opportunities to choose from. An opportunity with great promises may come your way, but as you look deeper you may find that it’s not everything it’s cracked up to be.

It’s important to check in with your Higher Self first and evaluate your options before making a decision.

Ask the Tarot: What do I need to know about each option?

May 18, 2020 – May 24, 2020

The third week of May is going to bring swift energetic changes. Positive aspects may be squashed by negative ones and that can be extremely destabilizing. On Monday and Tuesday, the Moon will move through impulsive Aries and cause a fair amount of overreacting. Try to avoid situations that are hot buttons or triggers. On Wednesday, Gemini season begins as the Sun moves into the sign of the twins. However, Venus retrograde square Neptune could steal the show as relationship issues surface. Stay grounded by seeing people for who they are and nothing more. Friday brings us a New Moon in airy Gemini. The Gemini New Moon is great for focusing on business matters. If there is someone you would like to negotiate with, now is the time. However, avoid putting any money on the table until Venus goes direct June 25th. The weekend brings its own brand of chaos. Mercury, Venus, Neptune, and the Sun do a dance that could get us mentally hamstrung. Our advice is to use creative tactics to get the results you want.

New Moon in Gemini May 22, 2020

Our New Moon is visiting the sign of Gemini on May 22, 2020. The energy is all about starting something new or going to the next step, but we may find our minds flitting from one subject to another. It’s ok, this is the influence of a Gemini New Moon in action.

Llewellyn’s Spell A Day

Earth Protection Spell
May 17, 2020 by Kate Freuler

Get a photo of a person or thing you wish to protect from harm. Gather a handful of dirt—any dirt at all—and sprinkle it around the picture in a circle. Say:

Earth and stone to build a wall,
Create a place to hide.
Strong as mountains, hard as rock,
Protecting what’s inside.

Whatever or whoever you are guarding from harm will be protected and “hidden” from negative influences until the danger has passed.

Magickal Cleanup
May 16, 2020 by Charlynn Walls

When we have clean spaces, w e think and function better. It stands to reason that we would benefit from doing a magickal cleanup of our ritual spaces and our past magickal workings. Today is also a Saturday, which provides the added benefit of aiding our ability to clean up any magickal messes that we may have created.

The first thing you need to do is cleanse your ritual space. Dust, sweep, and tidy up the area. Next, clean up any items from past magickal workings. If there have been items burnt or used up, make sure to bury the ashes or otherwise dispose of them. Finally, if there are any magickal workings in progress that are causing distress, then center yourself, concentrate on that work, and very firmly say:

Let nothing else add to the murk,
cancel and clear this work.

Now both your physical and your magickal spaces are clear.

A Spell for Fertility
May 15, 2020 by Charlie Rainbow Wolf

Fertility isn’t only the conception of a child. It applies to any area of your life where you want to sow seeds and watch them grow, whether it’s a garden or a new project, or even when you’re ready for some self-improvement. This spell encompasses all of that and more.

You’ll need a candle (preferably white), something to light it with, and some sage or sage incense in a heatproof container or holder.

Light the candle and say these words:

Fire fleet and candlelight,
Hear the prayer I make tonight.
Let me stretch and let me grow,
By light and smoke, I make it so!

Light the sage or incense with the flame from the candle. Pinch out the flame and let the smoke from the incense rise to take your spell out into the universe so that it may return back to you in its fullness.

Catching Dreams
May 14, 2020 by Susan Pesznecker

Make an inspirational dream catcher to bring your dreams to fruition!

You’ll need:
* 8 six-inch sticks, dowels, or twigs
* Natural-fiber string
* Crystal beads or small totems (garnet, lapis, citrine, labradorite, or malachite—or substitutes of like color)
* Small items you associate with success or prosperity
* A small pad of paper
* A pencil

Lash the sticks together firmly at their centers, like spokes in a wheel. If you’re not comfortable with lashing, hot glue will work. Tie your string to the center of one spoke and begin weaving over and under the others, working clockwise, spider web–style, and leaving space between the threads.

As you work, add in your crystal beads and items. Knot the string when done, adding a loop for hanging.

Hang the dream catcher over your bed. Before sleeping, sit before it and meditate on your hopes of success. Then sleep and dream. When you awaken, immediately record your dream memories on paper.

Honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary
May 13, 2020 by Barbara Ardinger

Aft er the death of her son, Mary Theotokos (Mother of God) retired to Ephesus. In 1950, her bodily assumption into heaven was declared by Pope Pius XII. In 1997, Catholics around the world petitioned Pope John Paul II to proclaim her a “Co-Redeemer, Mediatrix of All Graces, and Advocate for the people of God.” By a vote of 23–0, a Vatican commission advised against this. Mary is not a goddess, but a mother who loves to visit her children—she’s appeared and been seen hundreds of times in Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

Honor Mary today by buying a glass jar candle with her picture on it. Set the candle on your altar. Add Tarot card III, the Empress, which can represent Mary as easily as it can represent any goddess. Light the candle and contemplate the card and see where your inner vision goes with this mother of a god.

Spell for Psychic Dreaming
May 12, 2020 by Devin Hunter

The moon enters Aquarius today, bringing with it the power of prophecy, enhanced empathy, and psychic fortitude. Cast this spell tonight to encourage and intensify your psychic dreaming experience.

Before you go to sleep, take a cleansing bath and dry off with a white towel. Place your pillow on your lap, and using the index finger of your dominant hand, draw a giant X across the pillow. As you do, this say:

An X marks the spot where
I lay my head, the place I
dream when I go to bed.
Here I focus prophecy and
light, where I summon the
visions from night.
Hear my words and make
them so, where I place this
X, the power shall flow!

When you wake up, be sure to write down any dreams you had and ask your spirit guides for help in deciphering their meaning.

Olde May Day
May 11, 2020 by Michael Furie

Though dates vary from tradition to tradition, an older date for the Beltane celebration would fall on this day rather than our modern standard of April 30/May 1. An easy way to help tune into and harness the energy present at this time is to spend as much of the day outdoors as you can, whether it be to have a barbeque, work in a garden, or hold a formal ritual. If possible, meditate for a time outdoors, and as you breathe in and out, visualize yourself breathing in the energy of Beltane and exhaling anything unhealthy or incorrect for you.

Heartwings Love Notes 931: Gone but not Forgotten

Heartwings says, “Memories can provide comfort and solace from the past.”

When I was a little girl living in Manchester by the Sea, my family shopped for our groceries in the village, as well as sundries from a small shop that carried a variety of small useful things we used often. For larger purchases my mother drove to Beverly, where there was a large department store called Almy’s, as well as a Woolworth’s and a Grant’s. However, for fancy goods like wedding presents my parents shopped in Salem, the next town over, at a store that glittered with silver and jewelry called Daniel Lowe’s.

The Daniel Lowe’s building has transformed and Salem has become a tourist mecca for seekers of magical items and New Age accouterments. Beverly too is much changed. Almy’s is long gone, as are the 5 and 10 cent stores I enjoyed. Even the bakery that later on I shopped at with my children, who remember it still for its delicious cookies, is no more. Yet the stores of my childhood live on in my memory, ready for me to walk through and gaze again at their counters holding a mixture of the practical and the precious.

People I have known who have vanished from my active life also remain for me to recall. Those who are amongst the living I can send a Christmas card to. Those who no longer walk the earth occupy a kind of photo album available to my memory. I turn the pages sometimes and think with pleasure of the experiences we shared, and how I enjoyed them. I am grateful for these and for the time we spent: my grandmother with her endless card games and trips in her ancient automobile, dear departed neighbors from an earlier place we lived in Grafton, and more.

As Memorial Day approaches, I remember not only the people but also the places and even possessions of the past. They are gone only from the physical part of life. They live on in my memory as in the memories of others who may have known of them. One of the fun experiences to be had in gathering with family or old friends is the memories to be shared and enjoyed together. Memorial Day encourages me to think not only about my dear departed, or even those who gave their lives that I might be free, but of the sweetness of those memories. As in my mind I see these faces and these places, they seem to me to be like flowers I place upon the granite memorials of those who have departed.

May you have wonderful memories to solace your heart on Memorial Day and always.

Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert

P.S. Do you enjoy your memories of those and that which has passed from your life? I do find a solace in this myself. How about you? I love it when you write to me with comments, questions or suggestions. Your emails make my day. Please write to me at tashahal@gmail.com, and check out my web pages at http://www.Heartwingsandfriends.com

The Wind
by Madisyn Taylor

We remember that nature’s power is as close as our breath, and we breathe deeply once again.
We can connect ourselves with a basic force of nature by focusing on the essential element of air during a wind meditation. We begin by centering ourselves on our breath. We inhale the life-giving force, feeling it fill us, and then releasing it into the world to let our breath mingle with the breath of nature. If we cannot feel the wind right now, we can recall times when the wind has sent us gifts of caresses on bare skin, ruffling our clothes and playing with our hair. We can evoke sounds carried on the wind, maybe laughter or song, or perhaps just the wind’s own whispers through the trees or across the landscape of our ears. We may summon up an image of falling flowers or leaves from above, vivid colors set free with the wind’s encouragement. We may envision birds drifting on unseen currents with wings unbent, or flags and banners unfurled in the breeze. The scent of a sea breeze may come to mind, or the aromas of freshly baked treats or fragrant blooms that reach us from a distance.

As these memories enliven our senses, we are feeling the vital force that surrounds and animates us. We can look to the trees to sway in time with nature’s rhythm. Just as we can be soothed by the wind, we know that nature has great power. In a rush it can block out all sound, leaving us with only the beating of our hearts.

Wind can even make the inanimate dance and whirl gracefully. With a gentle sigh, the wind has carried sailors to faraway lands and balloons to great heights above. We can entrust the wind to carry our voices and best wishes out into the world, knowing it will be carried to its perfect destination. Releasing these precious offerings to its care, we remember that nature’s power is as close as our breath, and we breathe deeply once again before returning to the world around us.

Navel Meditation
by Madisyn Taylor

Navel meditation can be done by a beginner as you focus your breath on your belly and your breathing.

Journeys of lifelong evolution often begin simply. No matter how complex the goal or desire we have nurtured in our souls, the first steps we take are nearly always basic and uncomplicated. Navel meditation, a creation of the Taoist tradition and the oldest form of meditation recognized in China and India, is a simple practice suitable for those experienced in the art of meditation, yet it is also a wonderful introductory meditation for novices. It utilizes the natural rhythms of the breath and the regular movement of the abdomen as a means to focus awareness and rid oneself of extraneous thoughts. As you concentrate on the breath, the chaos within reveals itself, allowing you to gently train your mind to accept stillness as its natural state.

To begin, assume a comfortable and natural seated position–either cross-legged on a cushion on the floor or on a chair with your legs facing forward. Maintaining an upright, balanced posture will ensure that you are physically centered and prevent fatigue. Close your eyes and relax your body gradually, starting at the toes and ending at the crown of the head. Take a moment to note any physical sensations you are feeling, such as the hardness of the floor under your legs or the weight of a piece of jewelry. When you are relaxed, breathe through the nose at your natural pace. With each inhalation, draw air deep into the abdomen, allowing the area surrounding your navel to rise and fall. Gradually focus your attention on the sensations caused by the inhalation and exhalation of breath. Feel the air flowing in and out of the nostrils as well as the expansion and contraction of the abdomen. If you find it difficult to concentrate on both sensations, concentrate only on the movement of the navel area.

As you endeavor to commune with the breath, you may notice that your mind strays. When this occurs, do not attach any significance to your thoughts. Simply bring your attention back to the flow of air into and out of your body and the rise and fall of your navel. Eventually, the torrent of mental noise flooding your mind will slow to a trickle, and you will learn to control the current of your thoughts until you are no longer at the mercy of your reactions. The more you practice this meditation, daily if possible, the more you will be able to get back to this relaxed state easily throughout your day.

The Metaphysical Properties of Flint
by Andrew Pacholyk MS L.Ac
~ Peacefulmind.com

Properties: This is an ancient stone used for thousands of years by Prehistoric man to create a spark for fire and for making weapons. Known as “knapping”, flint would be struck on an angle, leaving the sharp edges exposed. This was perfect for fashioning axes and arrowheads. These relics have been known for centuries as “Elf Shot”. This refers to flint’s very strong metaphysical history. Elf Shot referred to the belief that elves or fairies would shoot an object, visible or invisible, into an animal or sometimes human, causing it to suffer in pain from the flint arrow. This was often called “elf-stroke”, from which we got the word stroke, meaning a paralytic seizure.

Flint has been used for protection throughout history. Both in Scotland and in Ireland, flint has been used as an amulet worn for protection against evil, including mischievous fairies and elves. Shaman throughout the world has utilized this stone in ritual circles, as remedies for clearing unwanted spirits and negative energy as well as for rituals to exorcise earthbound spirits form places, which are haunted. Flint can be used as a protective weapon when undergoing a spiritual quest or astral journey. Flint represents the powers of elemental Earth and Fire.

Flint has a strong psychological connection to self-esteem and courage.. Especially for those in advanced years to boost self-love and to overcome shyness. Flint shows us how to encourage intellectual, rational, and physical strength. It is also very useful during confrontations, arguments, and disputes as it helps us to take the “higher road of understanding” from a more rational viewpoint. Flint can be slipped under your pillow at night to ward off nightmares or an overactive mind as a result of these confrontations or disputes. It will, therefore, help us to provide insight in order to deal with contrary influences. Helping us to sever emotional ties that keep us bound to stressful situations, ties to your past or fearful situations. Flint should be used as a talisman to banish anything you want to be removed from your life including illness, addiction, or ill wishes.

This is an important stone for grounding energies in order to recognize a sense of spirituality. Clearing the mind, it heightens spiritual insight and sacred consciousness. It helps us become more aware of the higher levels of reality. When used on the Root Chakra it stabilizes our sense of security and allows the other end of our spectrum or Crown Chakra to be more in tune with the infinite. This is how flint assists us in the transfer of thoughts, information, and ideas.

Crop Circle Flint

Properties: This natural flint found inside Crop Circles in England, releases a very powerful current of energy, which can be felt when you handle them. This flint holds the vibrational patterns of crop circles themselves and can act as evolutionary talismans, accelerating the path of one’s spiritual awakening and opening a path for inner communication with the Circle Makers. This light-infused stone is believed to help awaken the blueprint of human destiny in a relationship with the outer celestial energies.

Folk Remedies: Flint is an overall body generator. Like quartz, it stimulates all tissue. As a healing stone, flint is reputed to treat the lungs and liver, our two greatest organs for detoxing.

Feng Shui: Can be used in any area of the house for grounding, centering and clearing negative energy. Use in the Center area for health, organization and balance. Use in the East or Family area to honor your ancestors and in the Northwest or Travel area for physical, spiritual or astral journeys.

Crystal Cleansing: method 1 – 8

History: Flint is a very firm yet brittle, glassy, grey or dark gray stone with shades of brown, red, yellow, or sometimes white. This granular cryptocrystalline variety of quartz, Si(O2) is trigonal and is what both flint and jasper belong to. Flint is found in all countries around the world. Categorized as a variety of Chert, it occurs chiefly as nodules and masses in sedimentary rocks, such as chalks and limestones. Flint will crack in fire because of its water content. It will also create sparks when two pieces of flint are struck together. When struck against steel, a flint edge will produce sparks.

The hard flint edge shaves off a particle of the steel that, heated by the friction, reacts with oxygen from the atmosphere and can ignite tinder.. Certain types of flint, such as that from the south coast of England, contain trapped fossilized marine flora. Pieces of coral and vegetation have been found preserved like amber inside the flint. Mysterious, giant flint formations, known as Paramoudra and flint circles are found around Europe but especially in Norfolk, England on the beaches at Beeston Bump and West Runton. Flint sometimes occurs in large flint fields in Jurassic or Cretaceous beds.

Donuts
by Stephen Halpert

Irma’s back ached. She was convinced the pain came from her desk chair. As she typed on her keypad the now familiar jab crawled from her neck down her spine to her lower back. That’s when she knew it was time to take the pain meds they had given her at the clinic. She got a cup from the cooler, poured some water into it and swallowed the two white pills.
Gilberto was the manager of the shipping department. Irma was responsible for processing the orders that several times each day she’d deliver to his department. The familiar daydream began as her pain meds kicked in. She’d close her eyes and picture him as Zorro, riding on his sleek black stallion across the plains. He’d scoop her up into her arms holding her tight as they rode into the sunset.
Despite the pills, her lower back screamed for relief. Sitting straighter in her chair she allowed herself a last momentary fantasy of Gilberto having his way with her.
She blushed and gathered up the shipping orders. Then she took out the slice of chocolate cake left from her lunch and delivered it to him with the new orders.
Gilberto grinned. He reminded her of a caged beast starved for affection. “How about I could have more than cake from you.” His low voice aroused her sensibilities.
Irma blushed. “Not here, not at the office. Found out and we’re fired.”
His eyes widened. “You think I care about that? When I get fired, I collect, and for the full term.”
` “You can do that?”
He made as if to grab her and smooch her lips with his. He laughed. “I come see you tonight. Show you what I got for you.”
From out of nowhere deep panic startled her; after all she didn’t know him that well. Some of what she was feeling must have shown on her face. He looked at her, his head tilted to one side. “You like me to come over, yes?”
She gulped, then reluctantly nodded, her body warming to his glance. Then her office phone rang.
“Gotta go.” She turned and fled. Back at her desk she could still hear Gilberto’s carefree laughter. She went to the files. Her breathing jerky, unnatural. She thought about having him over. Maybe seeing him at the office was enough. God help her if she couldn’t get him out of her hair. She knew he was divorced, had left his wife somewhere in Central America and became a naturalized citizen. He’d told her he used to play soccer when he was considerably younger.
That night around eight thirty a jubilant Gilberto pressed her doorbell. Reluctantly she let him in. At least he had shaved and changed his clothes; he wasn’t wearing his worn jeans and what was probably an old bowling shirt.
He gave her his most toothy smile and waved a large bag of donuts. “We eat good now.”
Despite how she felt, she made a polite face and thanked him. Then she got a plate. As she set it on the kitchen table with them on it she said, “I’ve never seen donuts this heavy with so much frosting.” She took one and found herself taking a bite.
“Magic donuts,” he grinned. “Magic–make a wish. They come from an old Armenian bakery.”
“What do you mean by magic,” she asked? They looked like real artery cloggers. “I’ll get fat,” she sounded as though she were confessing her sins.”
“No,” he waved his hand toward the plate. “Go ahead take another bite, make a wish. Don’t tell me. Always keep wishes silent in the heart.”
Despite her feelings to be cautious, she ate more. The donut had a nutty flavor, like maple walnut soaked in something sweet and alcoholic. Her head began to buzz. Her mind screamed, “Too much sugar.” She wasn’t used to eating like this.
“We make a good couple,” he said. She slid away from his reaching hand.
“I hope you don’t think because you brought donuts that I’d be easy.”
“Oh no,” Gilberto said. “Women are too smart for just donuts unless they come with diamonds in them.”
She looked at him quizzically. “What do you mean?”
“If I come back tomorrow and bring a big diamond and propose, you’ll want to marry me.”
“I’ll what?” He couldn’t be serious.
“Be my wife,” he smiled slyly. “Have my children. I want six sons.”
The taste of the magic donut began to make her feel as though she had eaten something she shouldn’t.
“I don’t want to marry you or anyone else,” her voice reeked of conviction. “Besides I’m nearly forty. That’s too old to have children.”
“Wait till you know me better.” Gilberto smiled and took her hand. “I like you. You have a good face and fine teeth.”
No one had ever complimented her teeth before.
Maybe the donuts were magical. He wasn’t looking nearly as unattractive as he did at work. She actually liked the innocence in his boyish face. His eyes seemed so pleasant and full of life.
She managed to swallow down the rest of the donut. Any revolt in her stomach would happen later. That’s how it always was for her when she ate too much sugar.
“Here, have another.” He pushed a thick chocolate fudge donut at her. It had a pronounced scent of rum. He pulled his chair closer and took hold of her arm.
Dazzled by the donut’s size and its thick chocolate frosting, she took it and found herself biting into it. Captivated, she actually ate the whole thing. Her stomach started to let her know what she had done.
Gilberto looked at her with adoring eyes. “So I’ll give you a diamond the size of one of these donuts and we’ll get married and right away start having babies.”
Her stomach rolled; her head spun. “I don’t think so,” she could barely whisper. Her throat dry, all that sugar was taking its toll.
He squeezed her hand, leaned over, and kissed her ever so sweetly. The kiss surprised her. She’d expected he’d maul her, but his affection was tender and gentle. “I rub your back in warm oil and give you more diamonds than you have fingers on both hands. You will love me. You will want me so close to you.”
Her stomach lurched. She whispered. “I don’t want to get married.”
“I know you say that now, but you’ll change your mind.” He scooped her up out of her chair and into his arms. He planted his lips on hers and began to kiss her passionately.
To her embarrassment, a gigantic belch exploded from her lips.
He drew back. “You always do that when you eat donuts?”
She nodded. “Yes, I’m a vegetarian and I hardly ever eat any sugar.”
His eyes grew wide. “You no eat red meat?”
Her stomach grumbled noisily. She wrinkled her nose and shook her head. “And if you marry me,” she blurted, “we’ll always go to church and every night before bed we’ll pray to the saints.”
He shook his head and frowned. “You do that?”
“Excuse me.” She pushed out of his grasp, rushed into the bathroom, barely able to close the door when her stomach took revenge.
After a while her stomach settled down. She came out and saw that he was gone. What was telling was that he took the rest of the bag of donuts with him.

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, May 17, 2020
by Georgia Nicols

This week the Sun changes signs and moves into Gemini for four weeks. Everyone will feel this shift of focus in their chart; in fact, it will be hyped because Mercury and Venus are already in Gemini. This signifies an increase in daily activity and chatting over the fence as more people venture out from isolation. There will be increased to-ing and fro-ing, increased communication and increased travel. Will casinos open? I don’t know. But I have heard of one, out in the suburbs, that is run by an iguana called the lizard of odds.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

The everyday pace of your life is accelerating! Plus, your own interest in the world around you will start to increase more and more. You will want to schmooze with others where possible. You will want to travel or take short trips if you can. You will enjoy interactions with neighbours, siblings and relatives, especially with someone whom you have not seen for a while. This is also an excellent week to study and learn new things to satisfy your curiosity. Discussions will go well. Your honesty and forthrightness in what you say will command the respect of others. It generally always does – but hey, not always, right? (Some days the only yoga I get is pulling my foot out of my mouth.)

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Astrology texts call Taurus the financial wizard of the zodiac. (And many of you work in financial institutions.) You know how to make money in your own backyard! Small wonder that you’re focused on money, cash flow and earnings in the next four weeks because three planets are sitting in your Money House: the Sun, Mercury and retrograde Venus. However, not only will you be thinking more about your assets and what you own, you will also be thinking about what it is that you value in life. Many people are doing some soul-searching regarding their values because of the recent crisis in the world. It’s valuable to know what is important to you, so you can make wiser decisions in the future.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Ta da! For the first time in almost a year, the Sun now moves into your sign where it will stay for four weeks. This is good news for you because it will boost your energy and enthusiasm for life! You will be more interested in the world around you and you will also attract people and fortunate circumstances to you. You will have a strong urge to get out and travel, in part, because you have a desire to relate to others. In fact, this combination of Venus and the Sun will definitely attract people to you. Meanwhile, Mars is sitting at the top of your chart arousing your ambition. It’s all systems go for Gemini!

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Your birthday is a month away, which means your personal year is coming to an end. Therefore, it will behoove you (do you like behoove? Do you want to be behooved?) – it will be in your best interests to set aside some quiet time here and there in the next four weeks, to think about what you want your new year ahead to be all about. How do you want it to be different from last year? What are four things you would like to see happen? The next few weeks are excellent for research and working behind the scenes. In fact, Mars will give you the energy for creative, intellectual work. Mars will make you identify with your ideas and really believe in them. Yes!

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This week marks a shift for Leos, especially if you have been in isolation. Suddenly, you’re popular! You want to seek out others and they will seek out you. You will enjoy the company of younger people as well as creative, artistic types. Some of you will become more involved in clubs, groups and classes. You have had time to think about the role that friendships play in your life and now you have a better idea of what this means to you. The next four weeks are excellent for goalsetting. You might encounter someone who has a big influence on you. Meanwhile, disputes about shared property and debts might occur. Oops, how could I forget to mention that your sex drive will be amped! Woot!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Once a year, for four weeks, the Sun sits at the top of your chart shining a spotlight down on you and this light is flattering. When this happens, people admire you, especially bosses, parents and VIPs. (You don’t have to do anything special. Chalk it up to good lighting.) This wonderful time has arrived for you, which means that the next four weeks are obviously your best time of the year to make your pitch and do whatever you can to advance your agenda because doors will open for you! Admittedly, Mars opposite your sign makes you impatient with those who are closest to you. Be nice.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

In the next four weeks, you are drawn to intellectual ideas, the media, people from other cultures, plus, exploring opportunities in publishing, the law and medicine. (Could be a reaction after feeling pent-up.) Suddenly, you want to explore the world of ideas and possibilities! Romance with someone “different” might begin. If you don’t travel in the next four weeks, you will dream about doing so and make plans for the future. But all will not be dazzling conversations because fiery Mars will make you work to get better organized, and work hard at your job. (Pick up your shovels and let’s sing another chorus of The Volga Boatmen.)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

You are a passionate sign and this week, you enter a passionate month ahead! Your passion will express itself in many ways (and yes, certainly that); but for starters, you will reflect upon deep psychological truths about yourself. You will do a lot of self-scrutiny, which in turn, might affect someone else as well. Romance that begins now will be wild and intense! Mars makes your desire nature strong, plus, you want to be free to express yourself in any way possible. “I am!” (Get the T-shirt.) This same window of time is a good time to seek out a loan or attract money to you through your spouse or your business partner.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

For the next four weeks, the Sun is opposite your sign. (Happens only once a year.) Because the Sun represents energy, and in your chart, the Sun is now as far away from you as it can get all year, this means your energy will be flagging and you will need more sleep. However, both Mercury and retrograde Venus will also be opposite your sign. (This is the best position for relationships for Venus!) This is why it will be easy to express your affection to others and easy for others to love you. Mercury will encourage discussions with partners as well as intellectual stimulation and fascinating conversations! Oh my, lucky you!

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You might join ranks with a Libra pal because you both want to work hard in the next few weeks. In fact, at a deeper level, you want to examine the challenge of how you should best manage your life. You want to know what duties and responsibilities are a priority. Something else will occur in the next few weeks and it is this: very likely, you will have to work for the benefit of someone else. However, the placement of Venus indicates that coworkers will admire you and your relations with them will be smooth and harmonious. Furthermore, your ability to express yourself in a clear, direct manner will be strong during this time. “Ten-shun!”

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

In the next four weeks, you will insist on expressing yourself and doing your own thing. It’s not that you’re interested in bossing others – not at all. But you want the freedom to be who you are. The new placement of the Sun will make you feel lighter and more playful. You will have a greater concern with kids and be more interested in social pleasures and romantic enjoyment. This is the one time of year when you can really be yourself! Creative activities are favoured. Romance will be fun-loving. Although you will work hard to earn money, you will also spend it freely. You’ll be excited about life and realize there is no need to pretend to be what you are not.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

With Mars in your sign until July, you will be a force to contend with because Mars will make you energetic, bold and confident! It makes you more of a fighter for your own rights than usual. In addition, because your energy level is higher, there will be more activity in your world. Meanwhile, your focus on home and family will be strong, especially dealing with a parent. Many of you will use the next several weeks to redecorate and make where you live look more attractive. This is also the perfect great time to tackle home repairs. Family discussions will be important; nevertheless, you will welcome time to be by yourself and reflect upon your life, the existential angst in the world, and what summer shoes you should buy.
