Llewellyn’s Spell A Day
Sweeping Success
JANUARY 22, 2023 BY ASTREA TAYLOR
Today marks the new moon in Aquarius and the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit. (The new moon occurred yesterday in Eastern Standard Time, but it falls early this morning in the UTC +8:00 time zone, or China Standard Time.) It’s an auspicious day to cleanse your home to make way for the influx of fresh energy. This spell uses the magical action of sweeping a broom to accomplish this. It also uses mood music, which can be anything from a song to ambient sounds or tonal frequencies—whatever gets you into the right mindset.
Turn on the music and decorate your broom with ribbons and bells. When your broom is all decorated, start sweeping in the middle of your home and sweep toward the exits. Use a dustpan to gather the debris, and place the sweepings in the trash. Light some incense and continue playing the music. If you wish, you can dance with your broom to raise the energy even more. Let the incense burn out completely if possible.

Spirit Guide Communication Amulet
JANUARY 21, 2023 BY DEVIN HUNTER
Both the Sun and the New Moon are in the sign of Aquarius today, ushering in a flood of positive energy that is sure to inspire, move, and even tantalize us. Ride the wave by directing this energy into projects that make you feel connected to your life’s purpose and by reaching out to spirit guides that help you see the big picture. This is also a good time to create magical tools, such as this amulet, that can help you connect with your spirit guides. All you need is a small piece of clear quartz.
Cleanse your stone in whatever way you prefer, then draw the energy of Aquarius into it by holding it with both hands and visualizing a light blue light sparkling within. Chant this incantation three times, allowing the light to grow brighter each time:
Water bearer, pouring light;
stars and spirits, guide my sight!
Carry your amulet with you to enhance spirit guide communication.

Reflection Meditation
JANUARY 20, 2023 BY EMBER GRANT
Use this meditation to reflect on self-improvement or self-care. Look deeply and honestly at yourself and discover things you’d like to change or new goals you’d like to set.
You’ll need some incense and a mirror. Any size is fine as long as you can see your face in it. Position the mirror so you can gaze into it and then light the incense. You may wish to dim the lights and use candles. Allow the incense smoke to rise up in front of the mirror, creating a screen. Close your eyes and imagine you’re walking through dense fog; revelations are waiting for you beyond it. Whisper these words:
Like an open book,
I need an honest look.
With open eyes I see
Who I truly want to be.
When you’re ready, open your eyes and blow the incense smoke away, revealing your reflection in the mirror. Look into your own eyes. Ask yourself what you truly want and need. Promise yourself to pursue it.

Find Your Magickal Tools
JANUARY 18, 2023 BY JASON MANKEY
Finding just the right tools for Witchcraft can be a challenge. Make your search just a little bit easier with this spell.
You’ll need a few pieces of paper, a pair of scissors, and a pen/pencil. Start by thinking about what’s missing from your altar, and draw each item on a piece of paper. Add as much detail as you can, but don’t worry too much if your picture doesn’t exactly match what’s in your head. Most of us aren’t artists! Cut out the items you have drawn and place them where you envision them going on your altar.
As you place the cutouts on your altar, say something like this:
These tools will come to me.
The energy of the cutouts and your desire will draw the tools you’re looking for in the coming months.

Aiming for Career Advancement
JANUARY 17, 2023 BY MAT AURYN
The Sun in Capricorn is ideal for endeavors related to work and career. With the Moon in the hunter sign of Sagittarius, ruled by the kingly Jupiter, for most of the day, this is an opportune time to perform workings related to seeking out a new job or position or expanding or advancing the career you already have.
Get into a meditative state and imagine that you are wearing a crown and holding a bow and arrow. Visualize your career goal ahead of you. Physically pull back your imaginary arrow, and before shooting it at your target, say with confidence:
By hooves and crown, I draw my bow.
I’m aiming past the status quo.
My arrow speeds to the goal,
Unlocking doors as I stroll
Along the career path that’s best for me,
That enhances my life like royalty.
Visualize your arrow hitting your target.

Understanding and Peace Ritual
JANUARY 16, 2023 BY JAMES KAMBOS
Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This ritual reminds us of Dr. King’s commitment to understanding and peace. You’ll need a crystal with one point. Hold the crystal while sitting at your altar. The point of the crystal should be pointing away from you. Think about understanding and peace filling our world. In your mind, see a brilliant blue-white light streaming from the crystal. Then speak these Words of Power:
Understanding and peace
begin with me,
Understanding and peace
begin at home.
It’s not just a dream; it’s our destiny.
But we must work together, not alone.
End by meditating on the words you’ve just said. Begin to think of ways you can bring help to those in need. Visualize yourself acting upon your Words of Power. Together we can bring understanding and peace to all.

Leaving the Earth a Better Place
It is a great act of love to leave the earth a better place when we leave, than which we found her.
We inherit this great planet from our parents and from the generations that came before. Then, in concert with the surrounding culture, our elders teach us how to care for the land and the sea, ourselves and each other. They model ways of being in relationship with every other expression of life on earth. But whether they act with care or carelessness, compassion or cruelty, generosity or greed, we have the ability to choose our own individual way of relating with the planet and her inhabitants. From our first breath here to our very last, we will find infinite opportunities to influence our environment for the better. We can decide now to act with intention in order to leave this amazing planet brighter and more beautiful than when we arrived.
If we enjoy environmental activism, we might feel moved to clean up beaches or to plant trees. But, we need not feel limited in our ability to contribute positively. There are many ways to leave a legacy of love. We might begin by radiating affirmative thoughts and feelings about how magnificent the earth truly is. We might create and tend a special garden, one that provides an abundance of food and herbs for ourselves and our loved ones. Or we might create a garden filled with sweet smelling flowers to uplift our hearts. We might even honor the earth simply by trying to be the best person we can be while we are here. Such good will can have a domino effect, inspiring others to contribute in their own way as well.
We spend our lifetimes being nourished and enlivened by the rain, sun, soil and wind. Our experience is blessed by other living beings, from plants to insects to birds and humans. We receive so much; giving back just naturally feels good. When we live our lives with intention of leaving this temporary home a better place for generations to come, we are perhaps leaving behind the best gift of all.

Water Meditation
Water is life and meditating with water can create a profound experience.
Our bodies are over fifty percent water, so it makes sense that human beings have always considered water to be a sacred source of life and healing. It is literally half of who we are, and well over half of the earth’s surface is water. Water cleanses and hydrates, contains and produces nourishment, and when we enter it, holds us in an embrace that leaves no part of us untouched. Meditating with water can be a powerful way of aligning ourselves more fully with this support system that makes life both possible and pleasurable on so many levels.
We may wish to conduct our meditation while in physical contact with a body of water, whether in the intimacy of our bathtub or the vast container of an ocean. We might float on our backs in a swimming pool or sit with just our feet submerged in a pond or creek. On the other hand, we may simply close our eyes and choose a location based on our imagination. Whatever we choose, we can begin by closing our eyes and listening to our breathing. At the same time, we tune in to the particular music of the water we have chosen—the loud rushing of a river or waterfall, or the surreal silence of the world beneath the surface of the ocean. We might consider how the type of water we choose reflects what we seek—the peace beneath the hectic surface of life, the cleansing power of a river racing through a canyon, or the mood lifting, melodic bubbling of a lively creek.
As we move between awareness of our breath and awareness of the water in which we find ourselves, we can begin to release the things we no longer need into the rushing river, or release ourselves completely into the water’s embrace as we float, in our minds, in the watery womb of an ocean or a lake. When you feel you are ready to return to more solid ground, ease your body back onto earth, in your mind or in reality, and lie flat on your back, allowing the water to bead and roll off your skin, soaking the earth and evaporating into the air, leaving you cleansed, healed, and renewed.

The Lost Art of Swedish Funeral Confectionery
BY SAM O’BRIEN
ATTENDEES AT THE FUNERAL OF Adolf Emanuel Kjellén, in the autumn of 1884, received beautiful, solemn keepsakes: small, sugar-sculpture doves perched among black lace and fabric flowers, all affixed to pieces of black paper. Inside each elaborate wrapper was a morsel of hard candy. Some mourners even flipped such mementos over and left heart-wrenching inscriptions. Adolf’s mother, Maria, wrote the following: “Our beloved son Adolf Emanuel died on October 28—Maria Gustaf Kjellén.”
Today, Maria’s somber sweet belongs to Stockholm’s Nordiska Museum, as part of their collection of Swedish funeral confectionery. The candies were part of a larger 19th-century trend among the Swedish upper class, in which families distributed ornately-decorated candy at important events. In addition to funeral candy, there was intricate wedding, baptism, and anniversary confectionery. For these happier occasions, the wrappers featured bright colors and images such as babies, crowns, or pink ribbons.
But funeral confectionery design was often downright macabre. There may have been sweets inside the wrappers, but the candies did little to sugar-coat the sad occasion, with wrappers carrying lithographs of skulls, graves, and skeletons.
“The thinking was, ‘We’re dealing with death here and a great loss,’ so visually the expressions were gloomy and morbid,” says Ulrika Torell, a curator at the Nordiska Museum and the author of Sugar and Sweet Things: A Cultural-Historical Study of Sugar Consumption in Sweden. “You were not making something milder than it really was.”
Take, for instance, the candy that marked the passing of “Mrs. Svedeli” in 1844. Its wrapper depicts a skeletal figure snipping the strings of time with scissors. If the message wasn’t clear enough, it also features a scythe resting beneath an hourglass.
Even children’s funeral confectionery didn’t shy away from the stark finality of death. According to the inscription on a candy wrapper, Ernst Axel Jacob von Post was “baptized in distress” shortly after he was born on May 3, 1871, and died the next day. Attendees at his memorial received sweets enrobed in white paper—a common color denoting a child’s death—with a glossy black label that bore a tombstone and a skull and crossbones.
The symbolism of the beautifully designed confections was far more important than the sweets inside. As sugar was a valuable commodity, the candies were precious objects meant to be treasured, not eaten. Typically, the sweets themselves were a mixture of sugar and tragacanth—a gum-like adhesive that bound the sweet together. According to Torell, some confectioners would even use chalk or other cheap materials in the candies to reduce costs, thinking no one would eat it. “They were hard like stone. There are stories of children who made a terrible mistake and tried to eat these candies,” she says. Not only was eating funeral confectionery ill-advised, it was also often considered disrespectful.
By the end of the 19th century, funeral confectionery had spread throughout Sweden, from the bourgeoisie in the cities to the peasants in the countryside. When beet sugar became increasingly available and inexpensive in the late 1800s, the once-opulent commodity became more accessible. As business boomed, an entire industry sprouted up around ritual confectionery. Many Swedish confectioners took annual visits to printers in Germany and France to stock up on supplies for their wrappers. Preprinted images also allowed lower classes to make their own candy and purchase labels from their local confectioner.
These imported labels led to a distinct shift in the candy’s imagery. Taking a turn for the rosy and religious, the artwork saw its skulls, coffins, and graves replaced by angels, Jesus Christ, and the Virgin Mary. “The images became more anesthetized and standardized expressions for grief,” Torell says. “You could see the modernization of mourning with these mass-produced images.”
As sugar became commonplace, it lost its ritual significance. You no longer needed to wait for a special occasion to bring out sweets. Swedish funeral confectionery, as a practice, started to fade in the 1920s and 1930s, dying out completely by the 1960s. Today, it has all but disappeared. The only place you’re likely to find these confections, with their creased paper and fading skulls, would be inside a museum or in an elderly Swede’s attic. But they highlight a unique period in Sweden’s history, when sugar held immense symbolic power.
“They are so full of concern and love,” says Torell. “It was a time when everything was so expensive. So a little sweet with black paper, shining with a cross and a Madonna, it was really something special.”

Action and Effect
The principle of cause and effect is the truth that allows us to better ourselves and the world around us.
All motive and action affects the cosmos in some way. The principle of cause and effect is the truth that allows us to change ourselves and the world around us for the better. However, this same universal law is also at work when change is not at the forefront of our minds. Our intentions flow forever outward in the form of energy, affecting both the people closest to us and billions of individuals we will likely never meet. For that reason, we should strive always to speak, think, and behave with great thoughtfulness and compassion. The virtues we choose to embody can inspire joy and integrity in the lives of countless people, whether we touch their existence directly or not.
The influence we wield is infinite. In an effort to internalize our conscious understanding of the nature of cause and effect, we can never truly know how our thoughts, emotions, words, or actions will manifest themselves on the larger universal stage because it is likely that the farthest-reaching effects will fall outside the range of our perception. We can only look to the guidance of our conscience, which will help us determine whether each of our choices is contributing to humanity’s illumination or setting the stage for unintended troubles. When we are in doubt, we need only remember that the cultivation of altruism inevitably leads to a harvest of goodwill and grace. Motivated by a sincere desire to spread goodness, we will be naturally drawn to those choices that will help us express our commitment to universal well-being.
Nothing you do, however minor or mundane, is ever exempt from the rules of cause and effect. From the moment of your birth, you have served as an agent of change, setting forces beyond your comprehension into motion across the surface of the earth and beyond. You can exert conscious control over this transformative energy simply by examining your intentions and endeavoring always to promote peace, positive energy, and passion in your ideas and actions. While you may never fully comprehend the extent of your purposefully heartfelt influence, you can rest assured that it will be universally felt.

How to Make Ginger Tea
Sheela Prakash
A steaming cup of ginger tea is a deep comfort that never fails me. I started making the simple elixir years ago, after a friend made me a mug when I was feeling a little under the weather, and I’ve turned to it countless times ever since. While it’s a wonderful drink to sip on when you’re sick, you hardly need to be ill to appreciate it. Made with nothing but boiling water and fresh ginger, it’s a spicy, soothing beverage that’s best enjoyed with a squeeze of lemon juice and a drizzle of honey — and your feet up on the couch.
How Long Should I Boil Ginger for Tea?
The longer you boil fresh ginger in water, the spicier and more flavorful the tea will become. I recommend simmering the ginger and water mixture for 10 minutes for a tea that’s full-flavored and ginger-forward, but you can continue to simmer it even longer if you’d like an even spicer tea. If you’re simmering for longer, though, cover the pot so that the water doesn’t evaporate so much that you’re left without tea in the pot to enjoy.
What Is Ginger Tea Best For?
Ginger aids in digestion, so I love sipping this tea after a big meal. It can also reduce nausea, congestion, and a sore throat, so it’s a nice natural treatment for general cold symptoms. Even without these benefits, ginger tea is a soothing drink that’s always a pleasure to sip.
How to Serve Ginger Tea
At its simplest, ginger tea is just fresh ginger simmered in water. After straining the tea to remove the ginger pieces, it’s ready to be served. However, if you’d like to sweeten your tea, stirring in a spoonful of honey is encouraged — as is a squeeze of lemon to balance ginger’s spiciness.

5 Cat Fitness Tips
~Cat Fitness Hero
How to keep your cat healthy and happy.
More than half the housecats in the United States are overweight or obese. And overweight cats are at a greater risk for cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and injury, as well as heart, respiratory and kidney disease. But we’ve got some great ways to help your cat be fit—not fat:
- King of the jungle gym
Jumping onto perches and digging into scratching posts are great ways for your cat to stretch, tone and burn calories. So install cat-sized shelves on walls and windowsills. Provide a scratching post covered in a tightly woven natural fiber so your cat can tone her back and shoulders as she digs in with her claws—or paws. - Play partners
Encourage your cat to play at least 20 minutes a day to improve fitness. Try dragging a toy around or rolling a milk jug lid and watch the chase begin. Also consider introducing a second cat to your home. Having another playmate will help ensure your cat exercises even while you’re away. - An adequate diet
If your vet determines that your cat is already overweight, discuss reducing your cat’s portions or switching to a low-calorie food. Or make your cat work for food by using a foraging ball for feeding. Fill the ball with dry cat food—your cat will need to roll the ball for the food to come out. - Tackle the great outdoors
Train your cat to walk outdoors on a leash and harness—she’ll get exercise while staying safe from dangers like other animals or cars. Another optionSwimming. (Yes, really!) Contrary to popular belief, cats can be taught to swim. And this fitness-boosting activity allows an overweight cat to exercise with less strain on already-stressed joints. - Get competitive
Competitive play encourages your cat to watch you for cues while moving through an agility course that includes ramps, steps, poles, tunnels and hoops. Train at home and then consider entering competitions. Even if you decide to not “go pro,” this activity still fosters emotional bonds and encourages greater levels of fitness.

This is a friendly, upbeat week for you; however, it’s possible that some of you will have to say goodbye to a friend at this time. (“So much is going my way I should look humble.”) Midweek, Venus will move into your House of Friendships boosting your enjoyment of group activities and interactions with friends. All your relationships will become more loving. (For some, a friend will become a lover.) Meanwhile, someone in authority might have a bright idea that will boost your income. Listen to people in the know. They might encourage you to go after something. Be open to their suggestions.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This week brings exciting diversions! Many of you will travel or do something to expand your horizons. You might explore opportunities in publishing, the media or something related to legal or medical matters. Plans with higher education will bring opportunities to you. You might travel. This might be because of an older family member. Perhaps you will travel to see them, or perhaps they will give you the funds to travel? Possibly, you will say goodbye to someone from another country or a different culture. Meanwhile, Venus is at the top of your chart now making you look attractive in the eyes of others. Why not play this up? It’s smart to go with what’s already working. New wardrobe goodies?
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
This is a lovely week; and for your sign, it can be a financially beneficial week. Some of you will inherit. Others will benefit indirectly through the increased wealth of a partner or spouse. You might get money back from the government. Certain issues might be going on behind the scenes that others are unaware of, but of course, you know. In turn, these issues might bring you a boon or a gift or an increase in shared property. Without question, this is an excellent week to discuss how to divide and share things because you’ll come out smelling like a rose. Meanwhile, make plans to travel in the next few weeks if you can because you need to get outta Dodge. Yes, it’s time.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
As I mentioned last week, you will need more sleep and more rest in the next few weeks. Please respect your need for this to protect your health and also to protect the happiness of those around you. (Ya think?) You might have to say goodbye to a close friend or a partner this week. But meanwhile, someone older or more experienced will give you advice. (I love advice.) One thing is certain, as the week wears on, gifts, goodies and favours from others will come your way. You might even receive cash. (Cash is always the right size and the right colour.) As the week wears on, relations with your main squeeze or someone special will be more affectionate and dare we say passionate? (We did.) A dare is irresistible.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This week the vibes are mellow and things will flow nicely; nevertheless, it will be a productive week for you. You will get a lot done with steady, easy effort, in part because your concentration skills will be excellent. (Of course, your ambition is aroused as it has been for some time.) One reason you will accomplish a lot is you will get help from other sources. You might get an extended budget. You might get the use of equipment. Someone might lend you something or give you something that helps you do what you need to do. The right help at the right time is invaluable. Meanwhile, relations with others – friends, spouses and partners are excellent. You wanted more? Alright – your health will improve this week, as well.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
This is a wonderful week to schmooze as well as entertain at home. Nevertheless, most Librans will prefer to go out, which means book dinner reservations, buy tickets to movies or the theatre, see sports events and enjoy playful activities with kids. Romance will flourish because you feel attractive and sociable. At the beginning of the week, you will feel a bit reserved. (Dress accordingly.) But as the week wears on, you will step up your style and create an impression on others. Coworkers will be supportive this week. (In fact, a work-related romance will begin for some.) You will do something unusual because you have a strong desire now to expand your world. What’s holding you back?
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Today (Sunday) you will feel more reserved about expressing your feelings. (The affection is there but you feel cautious.) This reserved feeling will fade quickly, and for the rest of the week, you will express yourself creatively and enjoy entertaining at home. You will also enjoy fixing up your digs by redecorating or doing something to make everything look more attractive. Those of you who work from home will have a positive week because things will flow smoothly and others will help you. Work-related travel is likely for many of you. Meanwhile, disputes about shared property, taxes, inheritances and insurance issues will be resolved. That’s nice.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
This week continues to be a fast-paced, fun-loving time for you. One reason it will be an enjoyable week for you is that your optimism is strong. You have a positive frame of mind, which is almost always a guarantee for happiness. Meanwhile, you might have to say goodbye to a sibling, relatives or neighbour. Or perhaps a relationship might end at this time. By midweek, you will turn your attention to redecorating ideas and making your digs look more attractive. Some of you will explore real-estate deals as well. The last two years have been a blur of residential moves and job changes. This year things will settle down.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Money is so handy when you want to buy things. This is why you will be happy to know that something will likely boost your income this week. (Oh yes –trust your moneymaking ideas.) Don’t hesitate to explore ways to boost your income because they are possible. Increased wealth might also relate to your involvement with a group. (Be open to this possibility.) Also, many of you will acquire this increased wealth through real estate or family members. This week, Venus enters your House of Communications, which means your words will be sweet, and you will be charming and diplomatic in the next few weeks. Kiss, kiss, hug, hug.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This is a wonderful week for you because the Sun is in your sign dancing with lucky, moneybags Jupiter, which gives you a marvellous boost of confidence, optimism and hope for the future. (Not wild and crazy dreams – but real, concrete possibilities.) Despite all these positive vibes, today (Sunday) you will play your cards close to your heaving bosom. You’re waiting to see which way the wind blows. It’s smart of you to do this. Later in the week, feel free to spend money on beautiful things for yourself and loved ones. You might also attract money to you. So nice! Social diversions will appeal, especially sports and flirtatious romance.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
This continues to be a low-key month because the Sun is hiding in your chart waiting for your birthday to arrive. Naturally, you can enjoy yourself and have great fun, but you will do so more conservatively. You might stay at home more. You will also be more low-key. From Friday onwards, the next three weeks will be an excellent time for you to buy wardrobe items for yourself, including shoes and boots. Fortunately, you will get richer this year, so buy yourself something that you love. Note: When you’re wearing fabulous shoes, you feel different. Master of the universe! Act like a winner.

Weekly Horoscopes Beginning Sunday,22 January 2023
If you’re born within a cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you’re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You’re on the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.
Outlines are longer versions; consist of every possible detail of everyday and are based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don’t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.
Aries
Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19
Your horoscope for this week:
For ages you’ve been complaining about the fact others seem to expect you to spot, and deal with, both opportunities and obstacles. Actually, as an Aries, you think and act more swiftly than most of the rest of the world. That being the case, others aren’t just wise to look to you for guidance, your ideas and suggestions are often better than theirs.
You could find yourself in two minds about a proposed journey, group outing or business trip. One reason you are having second thoughts is because of the expense involved. Even so, if this is something you really want to do, go ahead with it anyway. You will find a way to make it work. Collaborating with a practical partner will yield long-term benefits. They will be great at focusing on those small details you often overlook while you will enjoy experimenting with new ideas.
It’s been months since all the major planets were in forward motion. Following on from Uranus’ station on Monday, and the Aquarius New Moon, all signs should experience that ‘off to the races’ feeling. So much progress could and should be made. In your case, involvement with a new group or team seems likely. You may be invited to join early in the week. By the time that the Moon reaches your sign on Thursday, you should be firing on all cylinders. That being the case, think carefully on Monday about your social media contacts and presence. There may be improvements that could be made – preferably before Saturn changes signs in March. Indeed, setting aside time on Thursday to discuss with an expert how you might improve this area of your life could be an early step to career improvement.
Taurus
Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20
Your horoscope for this week:
The time has come to make decisions involving your life, at home and out in the world. While most are clearcut, you’re unsure about others. Tempting as it is to put off dealing with them until you’re better informed, explore your options. Discuss plans, and seek suggestions or new ideas. This may be out of character, but you’ll learn a lot, and fast.
There’s no excuse for those in positions of authority to tinker around the edges rather than getting straight to the point. An issue that is causing contention in the workplace needs to be addressed immediately. Concerns being raised are valid. You can sidestep a family flare-up by being diplomatic even when others are behaving badly. Are you single and looking for love? A flirtation can occur anywhere like in a bank, library, railway station or at your local supermarket.
Uranus, still moving through your sign, turns direct on Monday. It does so just two days after the New Moon that highlights career activity; and yes, it’s possible that you will branch out with an entrepreneurial idea that hasn’t been far from the surface in recent months, but benefits from this new energy. Yes, obviously this has benefits for all signs. You though, should feel an extra push where career matters are concerned. You might also arrive at a major decision with regard to home improvement. What should be abundantly clear, is that investment here is essential. A further and strong possibility is being invited to form a business partnership with someone familiar with social media matters.
Gemini
Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Recent sudden, unexpected and exciting developments got you thinking about certain elements of your life that would benefit from a different approach. Tempting as it is to plunge into those exciting developments, they can wait. Focus on ensuring your everyday life is going smoothly. If you discover any difficulties, tackle them first. Once they’ve been dealt with, you can move on to what’s next.
You could easily drop a job you are working on in order to join in with a team effort. It doesn’t matter how long this has been going on, you will be made to feel welcome and as if your contribution does count. Later on, you might opt for quieter pleasures and pastimes. You will be less in the mood to mix with others and more inclined to escape the pressures of work. Keep conversations within the family light. Avoid touchy topics.
As of Monday, and after months where one or other of the planets has been retrograde, all the major planets are in forward motion. That this comes soon after the New Moon in another of the Air signs suggest progress will be made using new ideas but yes, obviously affecting all signs. If you’ve been on the receiving end of difficult negotiations, anticipate that a new approach will be suggested. This won’t necessarily get you off the hook, and indeed, with Saturn en-route to transit of another of the Mutable signs from March, there may be penalty clauses to accept. What should be clear mid-week, is that you do have options. The time for debate is drawing to a close. Only by clearing past issues, can you take a giant leap on your career ladder. You could move up several rungs by accepting a degree of responsibility for past error. This could be your way of ‘wrong-footing’ someone who could yet be an ally.
Cancer
Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22
Your horoscope for this week:
At the moment you’re living with uncertainty and, what’s more, many of the decisions involved are in the hands of others. Worrying as that seems, think about it. The individuals in question are better informed than you about both existing and future plans. Back off, and in the meanwhile, focus on the increasingly pressing, and personal issues you’re facing. These will soon require your time and attention.
You’ve always been intuitive. If you’re uncertain about a decision, spend some quiet time alone and listen to your inner-voice. You could turn up something new in the way of a money making or work opportunity but you will need to take the initiative and follow this idea through. Spending time in the garden, with a pet or caring for indoor plants will be relaxing and therapeutic. Catch up on your reading.
After several months when one or other of the planets has been in retrograde motion, all are now in direct as of Monday. This, together with the recent Aquarius New Moon should energise most signs. Progress is likely. You, along with so many others, could move up your career ladder. You are likely viewed as a valuable member of a team, and should anticipate that your work will be ‘mentioned in dispatches’. You might even be headhunted mid-week. Career openings should abound. There is certainly much for you to discuss and the impact on your domestic life considerable. Renewed contact with those who live and work far away may be a major factor too. What seems likely is that you now have new perspective and ahead of Saturn’s arrival in another of the Water signs in March, have much to think about as regards how best to market your expertise. This theme affects most signs but, in your case, could lead to thoughts about attending short-term courses to accelerate learning.
Leo
Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Life would be a lot easier if you could turn exciting ideas into lasting plans. Clear cut as things seems, you’re urged to take things slowly until the Leo Full Moon, on 5 February. That may seem a long time to wait. However, both events and your own perspective are bound to change, and far more dramatically than, at the moment, you’d imagine possible.
Getting more mileage out of personal efforts than you have been doing of late will be a test of your ingenuity. Making furniture, clothing or jewellery will put your practical skills to excellent use. Put your imagination to work and trust that you have the ability to spin straw into gold. Double check plans if you are off on a weekend jaunt. Don’t be too quick to grab an opportunity when there may be strings attached.
As of Monday, all the regular planets are in forward motion. This is the first time for weeks. That this comes so soon after the new Moon in your opposite sign suggests you’ll feel and see progress being made. Others want to be in the driving seat. That though doesn’t preclude you from making major decisions too. Given that your Ennis the last of the planets to turn on Monday, accents the very backbone of your solar chart, it could be that a property and/or career move that is been in the air for months moves to its next stage. In this, you require support. An older person or someone who’s most definitely been trying to hold on to past ways of working, could finally accept that you are moving on. New rules can be established. In a sense, you’re breaking new ground. By Friday, it should be possible to put down at least a verbal agreement in a fresh way of working together.
Virgo
Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22
Your horoscope for this week:
While everybody will be grateful that your ruler Mercury’s retrograde cycle ended on the 18th, you’re still discovering previously unnoticed minor errors and juggling a range of unsettled issues. Although a few needs immediate attention, most are about rethinking your approach to a range of everyday tasks that, with a little time and an inventive approach, could be made a lot less troublesome.
Sudden changes to your routines could cause you some anxiety. A job offer could be beneficial in the long-term but there will be strings attached. Remember that you have a right to say no. A heated conversation will cause some upset. Try not to take some remarks personally. Someone will be saying things they don’t mean and although it will be hard to forget what you have heard; you will understand they lashed out in anger.
Four weeks, one of the other of the planets has been in retrograde motion. All that stops on Monday as Uranus reaches its direct station. That this comes just two days after the new Moon suggests a fresh surge of energy to be experienced by all signs. Obviously much depends on your personal chart, but this high probability that you will want to extend your world. You could in fact other people by surprise by declaring an adventure that you want to fulfil before the end of the year. This could be so left field. It might also require that you take on a course of study. Certainly, readiness to experience fresh perspective seems likely. They might also be something to celebrate mid-week when it becomes clear that an Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn colleague now has the outline of a project in workable draft form. They need your input. Anticipate being asked to join a new team mid-week.
Libra
Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22
Your horoscope for this week:
After a period as exciting as it’s been unsettling, you’re beginning to rein in changes and turn some of them into plans for the future. Take it slowly. Over the coming week or so, even seemingly straightforward arrangements are bound to change, probably more than once. Knowing that, regard existing plans and potential changes as part of this exciting cycle of growth and discovery.
Stop telling yourself you don’t deserve to be happy when there are other people who are suffering. You’re about to receive a wonderful offer. Good news travels fast. It will be surprising how many of your friends on social media already know about something special that is happening in your life now. Are you single and looking for love? A platonic friendship could suddenly become more intimate. If this takes you by surprise, think about how you really feel about it before going any further.
On Monday, just two days after the Aquarius new Moon, your roundness the ruler of that sign finally turns direct. As of Monday, all the regular planets will be in forward motion. They haven’t been in this condition for weeks. All signs should feel progress. Aquarian energy tends to move things into the fast and futuristic Lane. Anticipate that you will be required to adopt new ways of learning and thinking. You might also need to grapple with health issues not necessarily your own. Advances and strides can be made. Indeed, there could be something to celebrate mid-week. Recall that Jupiter is now moving through your opposite sign. Others have adventures they want to share. At least one of these and perhaps incubated around the winter solstice last year, December 20, could pay dividends. Something was that was trialled then should show signs of promise. By Friday then, careerwise you could be moving into a faster lane.
Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21
Your horoscope for this week:
The recent link between the Sun and your ruler Pluto brought ongoing plans and ideas for the future out in the open. While you were uneasy about it at the time, you’ve benefitted from others’ support and, often, their ideas. Yet, frustratingly, nothing’s been settled. Take advantage of this slow pace to explore every option, including those you’ve already dismissed as uninteresting, if not unrealistic.
Whether you are thinking about moving to a new place or making some extensive home improvements, discuss your plans with others who are likely to be involved. A housemate could come up with some creative ideas. Enjoy mixing different styles of furniture and artwork. Choose colours that suit you all and take positive action to make your world a better place to live in. If you’re thinking about going back to school or education, your family will offer plenty of support.
On Monday, your roundness will appear to station in the sky prior to turning direct. Once it does, then all the regular planets will finally be in forward motion after weeks when one or other has appeared retrograde. That all this comes just a couple of days after a new Moon in another of the fixed signs and accenting the backbone of your solar chart suggests a complete change of pace was Scorpios. Your career could yet go off in fresh direction. Others now know of your expertise, your determination, and your willingness quite unbelievably given how resistant you’ve been in recent weeks, to accepting change is inevitable. By mid-week there might even be something to celebrate. Anticipate being invited to join a group of enthusiasts. Yes, this could be in a specialist area and others might look askance wondering how you plan to fit new interest into an already busy workload. Yet it seems you do have plans and structure in mind. It would be so surprising if you allied with the Leo or Aquarius to get things done. This could be the beginning of a business partnership set to go far in the next couple of years.
Sagittarius
Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21
Your horoscope for this week:
Certain plans, both for the here and now and, equally, for the future are exciting. However, they’re so complicated they’d require teamwork. While this can be helpful, often others think and act so slowly you’d rather do things yourself. That’s understandable. The fact is you simply can’t do it all. Recognise that everybody does things at their own pace and you’ll be far more relaxed.
Changes occurring in your workplace may bring about a new set of conditions. You will be required to pass a test or add to your skills and knowledge. Don’t worry too much about what is going on. You will get the backing you need to move forward with a project that has been planned for some time. A dilemma later in the week will be between striking up a new friendship and taking an ongoing relationship onto a new level.
Expect others to be in action mode. Mars is now moving forward in your opposite sign. You imagine too, that they like cars that are quite refuelled yet. They could be stuttering – at least until Mercury turns direct at the end of the week. Fact is, that their plans are probably not yet either refuelled or thought out. This week is all about tidying up loose ends. You might also find yourself particularly irritated with a Gemini, Libra or Aquarius who is full of futuristic thoughts, but clearly unwilling or unable to it accept responsibility for past errors. These issues need to be resolved. It could fall to you to point out misjudgements mid-week. In so doing though, you perhaps also lining yourself up the taking on new responsibility in a couple of months’ time.
Capricorn
Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19
Your horoscope for this week:
Over the past few weeks, you’ve tried to escape from certain arrangements that were once rewarding, but are increasingly time-consuming and, in some cases, just plain dull. However, sudden events are turning things around, and you’re facing decisions as pressing as they are perplexing. Yes, that means gathering information before even thinking of plans. Overwhelming as this seems, it will be far easier than you anticipate.
You’re in line for a job advancement. At last, you will be offered the better work assignments. A bigger salary or profitable bonus deal will be too good an opportunity to turn down even if this will mean making a few changes in your family routines. If you haven’t had a lot of energy recently, your health will soon be improving. Devote some time to spiritual pursuits. Think about what it is that makes you truly happy.
It should be abundantly clear that errors have been made. It’s probable that the wrong personnel is in place, but teambuilding not possible for a couple of weeks yet. Of course, it could be that at least one person has decided to move on. Whatever, where work matters are concerned, it’s unlikely that things will run smoothly. Perhaps owing to change of personnel, or the clearly divided attention by those who are supposed to be operating to a schedule, you may need to put your foot down super firmly as Mercury arrives at its station in your sign on Friday. It’s perhaps only from then, new schedules can be put in place. The art this week may be to give others time to accept responsibility and for you in the meantime, to determine how communications could be improved.
Aquarius
Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18
Your horoscope for this week:
For you, the Aquarius New Moon on 21 January constitutes a sort of personal New Year. While you may already have listed what you want more of and, equally, what it’s time to say farewell to, you’re still questioning existing arrangements and future plans. That’s as it should be. Take it slowly. You’ll both learn a lot and begin to explore potentially thrilling changes, for now and the future.
If you’re feeling low, look to areas of your life that could do with a fresh start. It would be better to be happy than to just keep going in a direction that is offering little in the way of real fulfilment. Be sure to reward yourself for every small success as this kind of positive reinforcement will boost your confidence and in turn, this will attract better opportunities. Coming to a friend’s rescue on the weekend will feel fulfilling.
Figuring out exactly what you don’t know and how you set about acquiring information is a big theme. This week is all about working out which courses are available, and which expertise you could access with ease. It should be apparent that there are holes in your learning and that these need to be resolved. Planning this before Mercury turns direct at the end of this week should be considered wise. Good advice should come from a Scorpio. Renewed contact with those who live and work far away is probable too. Indeed, it could be an international company or connection that makes real difference to your career-world. With the New Moon in your sign next week, clearing up is this week’s big theme so that you’re well positioned for new offers.
Pisces
Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20
Your horoscope for this week:
After an exciting if unsettling period, you’ve lots of questions about the wisdom of committing to changes. While some are clearcut and you know what’s involved, others are based on a foundation that is, itself, in transition. The secret? Explore and discuss potential plans, but ensure it’s understood that these are just the beginning of a process of exploring new territory and of discovery.
Controversy in your community is causing a few ripples. You might be in a position to help some people through this. What’s needed is targeted measures to ensure those who need it most, get support. Even if you feel uncertain about your abilities in a certain direction, show a positive face to the world. Teamwork will be especially profitable. If you are asked to take on a job someone else is meant to do, let your conscience be your guide.
If you haven’t already thought about making improvements to your environment, this should be the week to do so. Yes, costs have probably risen. Even so, it should be apparent that you need to take action – and soon. Obtaining revised estimates, replanning, rewording or re-anything are the big themes between this Monday and Mercury’s direct station (Thursday). With Mars direct in one of the Air signs, you could find that Gemini, Libra and Aquarius friends are rushing to complete tasks which you know ought to have been resolved months ago. Irritation is probable. Yet amidst the storm, you could arrive at new ways of thinking about your social media presence and generally, how people make access to you. It may be important before Friday, to have your CV revised and even, to review your signature.
