Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

Solar Eclipse – Scorpio

Moon in Scorpio creates the need to delve into your feelings as deep as possible. You desire meaningful emotional exchanges now more than at any other time even if it is not easy and you are forced to change many things. Shallow relationships do not satisfy you, because they are not purifying enough.

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Scorpio. As both the Moon And The Sun will be in the realm of The Scorpion during the eclipse, this is an especially potent time to draw on the energy and gifts of this Water Zodiac.

It’s Scorpio Season!

Scorpios are said to be intense, intimate, and introspective! Scorpio is the eighth astrological sign in the zodiac, originating from the constellation of Scorpius. It spans 210°–240° ecliptic longitude. Under the tropical zodiac (most commonly used in Western astrology), the Sun transits this sign on average from October 23 to November 21. Depending on which zodiac system one uses, someone born under the influence of Scorpio may be called a Scorpio or a Scorpionic.

Scorpio is one of the water signs, the others being Cancer and Pisces. It is a fixed, negative sign. Scorpio is associated with three different animals: the scorpion, the snake, and the eagle. According to The Astrology Bible, Scorpio’s colors are deep red, maroon, black, and brown.

A Love Letter From Those Who Have Passed On

Take the love you have for me
And radiate it outwards
Allowing it to touch and impact others
Take the memory you have of me
And use it as a source of inspiration
To live fully, meaningfully and intentionally
Take the image you have of me in your mind
And allow it to fuel you
To take action
Seize the day
And be reminded of what is most important in life
Take the care you have for me
And let it remind you
To care for yourself fully
And shower yourself with your own love
And take the pain and grief you feel
Following my loss
And alchemize it into
Love, compassion and beauty
Build a castle
From the wreckage of my passing
And allow it to unlock your greatness and potential
And empower you to become more than you ever thought you were capable of being
And know that I can never truly leave you
And will always remain beside you
Watching over you in spirit
And that the love I have for you lives on
Through the connections you form
The kindness and compassion you share
And the future relationships and friendships you cultivate.
And until we are one day reunited
I will remain with you
Through the storms and chaos of life
And am always beside you
Walking with you, laughing with you, crying with you and smiling with you
And I am proud of you for being strong
I am proud of you for being brave
And I am proud of you for being you.

Llewellyn’s Spell A Day

Leave a Treasure

If you’ve ever found something— a penny on the ground with a special date, money when you needed it, a long-lost object—it got to your hand or entered your orbit somehow. Magic comes in all forms, and sometimes we are the means by which it is delivered.

What small object in your possession calls to be released and put into the hands of someone who needs it or would be uplifted by it? Find your object ( keep it small) and carry it with you when you’re out and about. Wait for it to tell you when it’s time to let go. When that happens, drop or place it wherever it’s going to go with these words:

Go with good energy and
for positive effect!

You may never witness the resultant magic, but trust that it is there.
Cleansing Altar Spray

Your altar is a representation of the microcosm and your relationship to these forces. Regularly cleansing and tending to this space is an important magical hygiene practice that will keep your life and your magical workings running more smoothly.

Choose a purifying or cleansing herb, such as sage, angelica, or rosemary, and place a few pinches in a bowl of spring water. Ask the spirit of the plant(s) to impart their powers of cleansing to the water, then leave the bowl in a sunny spot for a few hours. Strain out the plant material and pour the infused water into a spray bottle.

Mist your altar with the cleansing spray, visualizing all harmful or unwanted energy dissolving and returning to the cosmic cycle, leaving your sacred space fresh and revitalized.
Leaf It All Behind

Now that we are in the midst of the season of releasing, take a walk in a quiet place with trees whose leaves are in the process of changing color. Walk slowly, deeply inhaling the alluring, mystical scent of seasonal decay. This autumnal energy stands strong in the heart of the Witch. As you notice leaves that have fully changed color and are on the verge of falling to the earth, pluck them one by one. As you pick each leaf, hold it in your right hand, crumple it up, and declare:

This season I hereby release __.

Toss the crumpled leaf on the ground. Continue this for as long as it feels right. Feel free to release various things in your own life that no longer serve you, such as inner pain or confusion. It’s also a good idea to release things that are baneful in the world, such as apathy, racism, and greed.
Prosperity Tech

People often use technology as a means to prosperity. These days most folks carry a smartphone or tablet with which they can access financial resources. They do a lot of shopping online too. This has pros and cons. It’s convenient, but it can be a weakness. It can also offer a line of attraction for your magic.

For this spell you will need your smartphone or other favorite device. You will also need a length of black yarn and a length of green yarn, in any synthetic fiber. (Match the materials to the type of magic you’re doing, so use synthetic materials for a techno-magic spell.) Wrap the black yarn around your phone or device and tie a knot. Then say:

As this black yarn I wind,
All evil things I bind.

Slip off the black yarn, whole. Bury it far away.

Wrap the green yarn around your phone or device and tie a knot. Then say:

As this green yarn I tie,
Money comes by and by.

Slip off the green yarn, whole. Keep it in your purse or wallet.
New Friends Spell

They say it’s harder to make friends as we get older, but that likely has to do more with our work environment, family life, and busy schedule than our ability to actually find new friends. Sometimes we just need to make a little more of a window of opportunity and put that intent out into the universe.

This fun little satchel will help draw friendship to you. Collect the following:

  • A cinnamon stick
  • A rose quartz pebble
  • A dried yellow rose bud or petals
  • 2 wrapped candies of your choice
  • 6 shiny pennies

Place all the items in an opaque cotton satchel, ideally one you make yourself out of a fun print that reminds you to be playful. Allow it to sit on your altar for at least three days, then carry it with you as you go about your day (in your car or in a coat pocket, purse, backpack, or briefcase).
Let’s All Honor Each Other

Holding a big ball of rainbowcolored yarn, sit on the floor in a circle with friends. Sit so close that you’re all touching. With the end of the yarn in one hand, toss the ball so it flies like a comet with a rainbow tail to someone across the circle. As you toss the yarn, speak an affirmation that Concordia, goddess of community harmony, whispers in your ear. The person who catches the yarn touches it to their heart, then tosses it to someone else, speaking another affirmation of harmony.

Keep tossing the ball back and forth around the circle and speaking words of harmony until all the yarn is loose. What you’ll have now is a big, untidy web. It’s really a cone of energy of community harmony hovering above and around your circle. Ground the energy into yourselves and figure out a way to preserve that web as a symbol of harmony of your magical and mundane communities.
Spread the Wealth

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is observed by the United Nations every year on October 17. Working to bring a little more prosperity into the world is the goal of today’s spell.

We all can use a little help from time to time. Today, carry some extra cash in your pocket or purse. When you are presented with the opportunity to do something for someone, do so. You could pay for someone’s meal or donate money to a cause you care about. Each time you give something away today, say either out loud or in your mind:

Though this monetary gift may
be small, it is sure to snowball.

When you share what you have with the world, others will too and your own kindness is likely to be returned to you as well.

Victorian era cemetery superstitions and traditions help us to better understand the world our ancestors lived in. In our day, we may throw a fancy wedding but during the Victorian era, elaborate funeral customs were all the rage!

Many of the cemetery superstitions and traditions from the 1800s seem strange to us today but a surprising number of our own actions when someone dies have their roots in these customs.

Here are 35 Victorian era cemetery superstitions:

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #1
When a hearse passed by, children held their collars and repeated this rhyme to keep death from visiting their family:

Hold your collar,
Never swallow,
Never catch a flea.
None for me,
None for you,
None for all the family!

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #2
If the deceased has lived a good life, flowers would bloom on their grave; but if they have been evil, only weeds would grow.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #3
If several deaths have occurred in the same family, tie a black ribbon to everything left alive that enters the house – even dogs and chickens. This will protect against further deaths.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #4
Never wear anything new to a funeral, especially shoes.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #5
It is bad luck to meet a funeral procession head-on. If you see one approaching, turn around. If it is unavoidable, hold onto a button until the funeral procession passes.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #6
Large drops of rain warn that there has just been a death.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #7
A cat hissing when a body is laid to rest is considered a bad omen.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #8
Locking the door of your home after the funeral procession has left the house is bad luck.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #9
If rain falls on a funeral procession, the deceased will go to heaven.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #10
If you hear 3 knocks and no one is there, it means someone close to you has died. This was called the 3 knocks of death.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #11
If you leave something that belongs to you to the deceased, that means the person will come back to get you.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #12
If you smell roses when none are around someone is going to die.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #13
If you don’t hold your breath while going by a graveyard you will not be buried.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #14
If you see yourself in a dream, your death will follow.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #15
If you see an owl in the daytime, there will be a death.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #16
If it rains in an open grave then someone in the family will die within the year.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #17
If a bird pecks on your window or crashes into one that there has been a death.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #18
If a picture falls off the wall, there will be a death of someone you know.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #19
If you spill salt, throw a pinch of the spilled salt over your shoulder to prevent death.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #20
If you hear a clap of thunder following a burial it indicates that the soul of the departed has reached heaven.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #21
Carry the deceased out of the home feet first so they can’t look back and call someone else to follow them.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #22
You might be next if you saw yourself in a mirror at a house where someone had recently died. Keep them covered until the mourning period is over.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #2
Turn family photographs face-down to protect family and friends from possession by a spirit of the dead.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #24
Never speak ill of the dead because they will come back to haunt you or you will suffer misfortune.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #25
Two deaths in the family means that a third is sure to follow.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #26
Dropping an umbrella on the floor or opening one in the house means that there will be a murder in the house.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #27
A diamond-shaped fold in clean linen portends death.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #28
Shake hands with the gravedigger (or the undertaker) when attending a burial. Failing to do so meant death would strike your family next.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #29
A dog howling at night when someone in the house is sick is a bad omen. It can be reversed by reaching under the bed and turning over a shoe.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #30
Drawing curtains immediately after death kept the spirit from leaving too soon.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #31
Stopping clocks at the time of death prevented the spirit of the newly deceased from noticing the passage of time so they would stay just a little longer.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #32
Covering mirrors with dark cloths prevented the spirit of the deceased from entering the mirror where they may become trapped.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #33
Wearing black clothing to a graveside service kept the spirits at the cemetery from noticing you so they wouldn’t follow you home.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #34
Ribbons and black crepe on door handles, wreaths, windows – and even pets and farm animals – let the community know that a death had occurred in the household and kept further deaths from occurring in the family.

Victorian Era Cemetery Superstition #35
If a swarm of bees comes to the house of a good man who was soon to die, the bees were sent as an “honor guard” to escort the departing soul to heaven.

Some of these cemetery superstitions may seem ridiculous to us, but hopefully they have helped you to understand some of the beliefs that impacted your ancestors’ lives.

Heartwings Love Notes 1058 Your Way or My Way?

Heartwings says, “Deciding which way can be something to ponder.”

Every relationship has its conundrums. Some are fraught with contention, others are not, yet all provide opportunities for participants to learn and grow. For instance, I was brought up to be tidy. I didn’t used to be as a child; are there any children who are naturally so? As of yet, I haven’t heard of any. Some children who are taught to be neat learn to like it, others do not, of course, yet all will one day, most likely find themselves contending with the opposite of their preference.

For instance, I like my bureau drawers to be tidy so I can see what is in them when I want to choose my clothes for the next day. Being fuzzy of mind when I wake up, I prefer not to make any unnecessary decisions. Believing this to be a desirable state for bureau drawers, I used to make sure Stephen’s bureau was tidy too. Toward that end I would periodically refold and replace his sweaters and tee shirts until his bureau drawers were all organized. One day it occurred to me that he didn’t seem to want to keep them this way, and I stopped. He never complained.

I am grateful that he uses our hat rack/clothes pole to hang up his clothing. The fact that it tends to pile up there is none of my concern, or so I have come to understand. What is important for me to remember is that his way and my way do not necessarily have to coincide. As long as his clothing, no matter how much, is not draped over the furniture or piled on the floor, I’m happy. The decisions that come from preferences are different from those that have to do with circumstances.

We grow up accumulating preferences, habits, and ways to do things. Then we find others differ. This might be an issue or it might not. What matters is that respect and support need to be part of a healthy relationship. Stephen respects my desire not to trip over his garments and I respect his desire to have his drawers the way they are. I support him by not insisting his clothes be hug up in the closet, and he does the same when he does the dishes or hangs the indoor laundry that doesn’t go in the dryer.
Respect for one another’s beliefs as well as habits is also vital within all relationships. The divisions within our current world view are not healthy for our society because all too often there is a lack of that respect. When we support one another’s ways, it may be possible for us to live in peace. May it one day be so.

May you find good ways to resolve personal differences.

Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert

How to Remove a Curse with Salt
~Spells8 Blog

Breaking a curse is one of the skills of a seasoned Witch. Most modern Witches use their Magic for good purposes, not to harm others. If you fear that you may be cursed or suffering from a psychic attack, follow these instructions. You may also use this guide to help others. Find a printable summary below?

Removing a curse or hex
A curse can manifest itself through various symptoms, including: nightmares, medical problems, legal problems, insomnia, loss of energy, relationship problems, inability to focus, or things going missing.

There are many methods to curse someone ranging from powders to candle spells and dolls. While we don’t encourage anyone doing that, as it is contrary to the Wiccan Rede, it’s good to know how to deal with them.

Cursing or “hexing” means directing negative energy at a person. And it is even possible to feel this negative energy surrounding you even if a specific person has not cursed you. In other words, our own negative attitudes and behaviors can be the cause of the curse (i.e. you can curse yourself).

How to Remove a Curse with Salt
Being cursed, or having a host of negativity near you can affect your daily life and it’s advisable to address it as soon as possible.

There are many ways that you can get rid of a curse. Here are a few basic ways to remove a jinx using salt. Salt is an ingredient valued since time immemorial whose cleansing power in rituals has been used by many cultures around the world. Read also: Spells with Salt

Spiritual Bath with Salt

Spiritual baths are one of the best ways to remove negative energy either from a psychic attack or a cloud of negativity energy. For this purpose, Epsom salt is the most commonly used type of salt. It has been used for hundreds of years as a healing agent and pain reliever. You can also use sea salt for this protection ritual.

Begin by taking a shower to remove all the dirt, grime, and sweat.
Fill a tub or a basin full of warm water.
Add 2 cups of salt to the water and swirl it around.

Add 10 drops of rosemary essential oil (or 4 tablespoons of dried rosemary). You can also add 2 tea bags of chamomile tea.

As you sit in the water, visualize the negative energy lifting away from your body and returning into the earth. See the curse break and all of the effects being removed. Optionally, follow a cleansing guided meditation such as this Chamomile Tea Cleansing Meditation.

When you’re ready, release the water and allow it to flow down the drain. Keep a little bit of salt to throw over your left shoulder. Instead of toweling off, allow your body to air dry. If the curse is particularly strong, repeat the water purification bath 3 days in a row.

Citrus Aura Cleanse
Lemons’ Magical properties bring joy, happiness, and they are a wonderful cleansing agent. Lemons are full of solar energy ?? and can be used for removing a curse. The best part about using lemon to break a curse is that you will know when it’s truly gone. Try this spell on a Sunday. Here’s how to remove a curse with salt and lemon:

Break curse with lemon and salt
Cut a fresh whole lemon in half.

Sprinkle each half with a generous amount of sea salt.
Take one half of the lemon and slowly move it over your body. You don’t have to touch your skin with the lemon. Hold it an inch away and visualize the lemon pulling out the negative energy. Use both halves of the lemon if needed.
Once you have covered your entire energy field, place the lemon on a surface such as your altar.

Over the next few days, if you notice the lemon getting moldy, the curse was not removed, and you should repeat the process with a fresh lemon. If the lemon dries out, then the curse was successfully removed. Sprinkle some salt on top and take it out with the trash or compost.

Protective Salt Barrier
If you need to remove a curse from your home, business or workplace, you can create a salt barrier of protection. Before you begin, look around the house for any suspicious jars, powders or ritual elements that might be triggering the curse. If you find one, sprinkle salt on top and discard it fast to remove the curse.

Salt barrier of protection
Open all your windows and doors.
Sweep the floors clean and thoroughly vacuum.

Mop the floors inside with a mix of water and salt. If you cannot mop the floors, pour a ring of salt outside along the perimeter of the house or business and bless it with your intention.

Removing a Curse with a Smoke Cleanse
The best way to cleanse a tool or a sacred space is through incense, and a curse is no different. Break a curse or send away evil energy by smoking it out.

Burn sage, mugwort, or cinnamon in a fireproof dish. Make sure to open doors and windows if done inside. If you are the target of the curse, pass the smoke all over your body. The negative energy will stick to the smoke and be carried off into the air.

Consider also using the smoke to remove any negative energy from your home as well.

While smoking out a curse, carry a dish of salt in one hand so that the curse can be absorbed into the salt if needed. Sometimes the smoke doesn’t fully dissipate the hex and the bowl of salt will help to remove any lasting vestiges of the curse. Visualize the curse leaving your body and entering the salt as the light enters and cleanses you.

Rewards Of Being Kind
~Andrew Weil, M.D.

New research also found that random acts of kindness (such as helping an older neighbor carry groceries) were more strongly associated with overall well-being than structured activities such as volunteering for charity. Investigation leader Bryant P.H. Hui, Ph.D., of the University of Hong Kong reported that informal helping is more casual, spontaneous and varied and may more easily lead to forming social connections. The research also found that not all good-hearted behavior is equally beneficial to givers. Instead, it showed that the strength of the link depends on many factors including the type of the kindness, the definition of well-being and the giver’s age, gender and other demographic factors. These conclusions come from an analysis of 201 independent studies that included data on nearly 200,000 participants and explored the connection between prosocial behavior and well-being.

Cut open the tea bags, empty the loose herbs into the cider, and bring to a simmer for about 5-10 minutes.

Remove from heat and strain, through either a mesh strainer or a cheesecloth.
Retain the warmed cider and compost the spices and herbs.
Serve hot and top with optional garnishes.

Shifting The Mood

We all have to do things in our life that we don’t want to, and the easiest solution is to change our attitude.

We all have days when we are faced with chores, errands, or responsibilities that we don’t want to do. At times like these, it’s easy to get into a bad mood and stay in one as we tackle these tasks. However, given that our bad mood will not change the things we have to do and will most likely make things worse, we should try to shift our attitude. Many wise people have pointed out that it is not so much what we do as it is how we do it that makes the difference in our lives.

It’s important when we’re facing something that’s really hard for us, whether it’s doing taxes, paying bills, or visiting a challenging relative, that we lovingly support ourselves through the process. The more supported we feel, the easier it is to open our minds to the idea that we can change our way of looking at the situation. In truth, most of the chores we don’t like doing are intimately intertwined with our blessings. When we remember this, we feel gratitude, which makes it hard to stay in a dark mood.

We can shift our attitude by considering how much we love our home as we clean it and how lucky we are to have a roof over our head. Any task can be transformed from a burden to a necessary aspect of caring for something we love. All we have to do is shift our perspective, and our attitude will follow shortly behind.

How Healthful Is Your Tea? Try These 4
~Dr. Weil

The antioxidants and polyphenols in tea may be responsible for some of its health benefits, such as stronger bones, lower cholesterol levels, and reduced risk of heart disease and some types of cancer – all of which are enjoyed by regular tea drinkers. Consider these types of tea in the upcoming winter months for healthful, warming treats that offer added health benefits:

Green tea. With tea leaves that are steamed, rolled and dried – a method that preserves the content of polyphenols – green tea is high in antioxidants. Its flavor is a bit earthier than that of white tea. Green tea is available in a range of varieties; Dr. Weil’s favorite is powdered green tea, known as matcha. Green tea provides EGCG, a polyphenol than may help to fight inflammation, lower cholesterol, prevent cancer and boost the immune system.

Oolong. This tea’s healthful properties (as well as taste and color) fall between those of green tea and black tea. It has a floral and fruity taste and may help relieve itchy skin associated with atopic dermatitis.

Pu-erh. Highly valued in China, pu-erh (pronounced POO-air) is a dark red tea that is bold and earthy and the most oxidized form of tea. It may help to reduce cholesterol and aid in digestion.

Black tea. This is the tea that the English, Irish and most Americans drink. The oxidation process causes the leaves to change both their color and flavor, reducing the content of polyphenols. It is a hearty tea that has been linked to a lower risk of heart disease, colon cancer and the bacteria associated with cavities and bad breath.

Women’s Work

The importance of tending the hearth that nurtures all who bask in its warmth, is a beautiful thing.

In the recent past, the term “women’s work” has come to have a derogatory connotation. Women’s work encompasses all the domestic chores that have historically been associated only with women: cooking, cleaning, and raising children. Whenever a person is limited to only certain kinds of work in a society, there is a need to break free from that work in order to inhabit a place of choice. However, when we choose to do women’s work because we enjoy it, there is nothing degrading about it. There is an honor to it, and when done alone or in a group, this work can be truly meaningful and fulfilling because the home is the foundation of security for all who live in it. The importance of tending the hearth that nurtures all who bask in its warmth cannot be overstated.

In addition to being essential to the functioning of the world, women’s work offers creative fulfillment, intimate interaction, and personal satisfaction. The more we become aware of the significance of this realm of labor, the more fulfilling it will be both to those who do the work and those who benefit from it. A well-set table and a delicious, healthy meal can heal us on multiple levels. Clean, crisp sheets on a bed allow us to enter a deep slumber, inspiring a sense of safety and trust. Our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health all rest upon the smooth functioning of our homes.

The more we acknowledge the tremendous importance of this work, the more we are able to do it with a sense of pride, never feeling for a moment that our efforts are less significant or meaningful than those working outside the home. On the contrary, it is this work that makes all other work possible.

Coach Gilberto Chapter 34
by Stephen Halpert

The weather was changing. A cold wind drifted through the partially open bedroom window. Gilberto moved closer and clutched Maria.
“Day in bed?” He whispered.
She giggled and snuggled against him. “I wish but we both have appointments as you may recall. I have to talk to several volunteers at the clinic and you, dear Headmaster, have an appointment with some faculty. Those murders are still on the books.”
He frowned; he knew she was right, but rather than climb out of bed into the cold of the day, he pulled the covers up over them both. “When can we get away. We need time off, both of us.”
“Does that mean check into a hotel and spend precious time in bed like we usually do?”
“Nothing wrong with that.” He stroked her back the way she liked, moving his hand down lower over her body.
“That’s not going to work this morning,” she giggled. “But I’ll tell you what, I’ll make a reservation for us, and I’ll make sure Joey, Mona and Boris are covered.”
“Deal.” He shivered. “Be a lot easier getting up when it’s cold like this, if we bought an electric blanket.”
“You still on that?” She moved her hands against his soft flesh. “I don’t trust electric blankets. Something creepy about them, they make my skin all clammy; and you snored whenever we’ve used one before.”
He raised up on his elbow and grinned his most winning grin: “You look so delicious, stay here just a little longer.”
“And a little longer, and after that even longer, until we lose all track of the day.” She pressed against him. “I know you so well.”
He kissed her neck. “Your skin feels so nice against mine.”
She wriggled and pressed against him. “You don’t make getting up in the morning easy, do you?”
He chuckled. “Am I supposed to?”
She laughed, and surprised him by kicking away the blankets.
He reached for her, but she slipped away and skipped toward the shower.
Turning back, she smiled. “We’ll get away,” she laughed. “I promise.”
He began getting out of the bed. “And you’ll make reservations?”
“Promise,” she laughed. “Three days be enough?”
“”Yes,” he said, and followed her into the shower.
Breakfast was his usual spicy burrito with green sauce while Maria had yogurt and fresh berries. Then the French roast coffee perked and she poured them two steaming mugs. The kitchen clock read 7:45.
At 8 the phone rang. It was Lara Parker. “Good morning,” she began. “I’ve hired the services of an investigative firm. We’ll be in your office at three this afternoon. I feel these murders must be solved, not good at all to have this hanging over Houndstooth. We must clear the air.”
He agreed, their call concluded, and he called Rain.
“I’m glad,” she agreed. “Especially since our inquiries led to a dead end. I’ll have everyone’s file updated and ready.”
He thanked her and thought of something more to ask: “By the way, have you and April Summers spent any time together.”
“Interesting that you should ask,” she said. “No. I made a few overtures but she hasn’t responded to my calls.”
“Odd,” he said. “I thought you two were friends.”
“I did too,” she replied. “But one never can tell.”
“I guess,” he said. “See you soon.”
They concluded their call.
Maria looked so lovely. “Don’t forget the reservation,” he reminded her. “It’s been too long.”
“You think I’d forget about having you all to myself?”
He grinned. “Guess we both feel the same way.”
“And what way is that,” she teased, but before he could reply, Joey and Mona followed by a drooling Boris came into the kitchen.
“Why’s he drooling so much,” Joey asked.
“He’s hungry,” Mona said.
“He’s always hungry,” Maria said. “I’ve never known Boris not to snarf up whatever handout…”
“Only if he likes what he’s offered,” Mona said. “Isn’t that right, Boris,”
Gilberto smiled at Joey. “I’ll drive you home,” he said, “Unless you’ve got other plans.”
Mona grinned. “Joey’s got a new girlfriend,” she said.
“How do you know that?” Maria asked.
Mona rolled her eyes. “I hear him on the phone sometimes.”
Joey’s face reddened. “You’re always spying on me,” he said.
“Her name’s Katie Dodge,” Mona said. “They’re both in love. After graduation she’s going to Emerson and become a great actress.”
“No, we’re not,” Joey insisted. “We’re just friends. How do you know she’s going to Emerson, anyway?”
Mona stuck out her tongue. “Ha!” she laughed. “I know a lot more than you think I do.”
Maria stood up and frowned at them both. “Leave it be,” she said. “Best not to spy on your brother and listen to his conversations, or one day he could turn the tables on you.”
Joey raised his eyebrows. “I could tell the world about you and Theodore,” he said. “Those late night conversations. But I’ve got better manners than that.”
Mona glared at Joey. “How do you know about Theodore?”
“Ok, enough!” Gilberto said. “Both of you, cool it and be peaceful. I mean it. I’ve a lot to do today, and I want a quiet restful breakfast.”
Maria sighed. “Agreed, as do I,” she said. “I’ve reservations to make as well as planning for you two with Rosa.”
“Oh good, you’ll be going away,” Mona said. “That’s so cool. Then daddy won’t be so grumpy.”
Maria laughed.
Gilberto’s face reddened. “What do you mean, grumpy?”
“It’s true,” Mona said. “Daddy’s always happier when he gets back from a getaway with Mom.”
“Snoop,” Joey said. “Stop minding other people’s business or you’ll get it.”
Mona laughed then she got up and filled Boris’ bowl and gave him fresh water.
She turned to the family. “If I’m going to go to law school and be a good lawyer, I’ll have to remember everything I hear,” she said. She petted Boris, turned and left to catch the bus for school.

50 Perfect Witchy Names for Cats
By JACKIE BROWN Updated on 07/12/22

When you think of witches, cats come to mind as often as broomsticks and pointy black hats. Of all cats, black cats in particular give off the spookiest witchy vibes. Historically speaking, back when people believed witches to be real, cats were a witch’s favorite animal companion (others preferred animal companions including dogs, toads, and mice).

Witch animal companions, known as “familiars,” were believed to possess magical abilities that let them carry out a witch’s bidding. This may have led to the idea that cats were bad luck. Hundreds of years ago, cats were so closely tied to witches that simply owning a cat was cause for an investigation, and cats were frequently burned at the stake with those unlucky enough to be convicted of practicing witchcraft.

With their sleek, stealth movement and watchful, aloof demeanor, it’s easy to see how cats became associated with witches and evil doing. Cats are still strongly tied to Halloween and other pagan celebrations. Today, making a connection between witchcraft and cats is just for fun. Georgia Nicols Weekly Horoscope:Sunday,
October 23, 2022

All Signs
If you have an important project to get done, this week is the 11th hour because of Mars –the planet that represents bold, aggressive, sexy energy. (It also represents our ego.) Once every two years, Earth comes from behind an overtakes Mars; and as we pass this red planet, it looks like Mars is going backwards, (which of course, it isn’t). However, astrologically, this symbolizes its driving force is stymied. Suddenly, for the next 9-10 weeks, we’re stuck in the mud! Mars goes retrograde on Sunday, Oct. 30 and stays retrograde until Jan 12. Therefore, hustle thy buns! Forewarned is forearmed! (Remember Calpurnia? “I said, Julie, don’t go! Don’t go!”)

Aries (March 21-April 19)
Before Pluto was discovered in 1930, your ruler Mars was also the ruler of Scorpio. For the next four weeks, the Sun will travel through the part of your chart that is home to Scorpio. This will energize Mars, which is why you will feel unusually intense, purposeful and driven to accomplish what you want to do. You might even feel obsessed or compulsive about something. “Who me?” “Yes, you.” Nevertheless, despite your determination (and you will be determined) – you might be surprised how hard it is to get others to agree with you and follow your orders. Oops, shall we say “do your bidding?” Go gently.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
The month ahead is tricky. For starters, the Sun will be opposite your sign for the next four weeks, which will slightly drain your energy. You will need more sleep. (Respect your need for more rest.) On the upside, something might happen that gives you greater clarity about your closest relationships or friendships. This is important. This increased clarity and objectivity can help you see how to improve a valuable relationship. Nevertheless, moneymaking ideas and your energy to work hard to earn money might become bogged down for some reason. Things are not moving forward as quickly as you had hoped. Cope as best you can until the beginning of next year.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This week introduces two contradictory forces at work for your sign. When Mars goes retrograde at the end of the week, it will be in your sign, which means you will suddenly feel a bit adrift. Something in your environment and possibly related to your health will impede your progress in some way. You might have less energy. You might have second doubts about how to do something. However ironically, for the next four weeks, the Sun will be sending you the opposite message. It will encourage you to work hard and work efficiently. You will want to accomplish as much as possible. These opposing forces will work like an ebb and flow. Perhaps you will work and then rest.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Most of you are looking at a fun, playful four weeks ahead! It’s the perfect time to take a cruise, get away on a vacation, and enjoy socializing with others. Accept invitations to party! Enjoy the arts, the theatre and musical performances. Sports events along with playful activities with kids will be rewarding, delightful choices. Along with these fun opportunities, romance will also get a shot in the arm. New love might blossom! Existing romances will be cozy. The thing to watch out for is old habits that no longer serve their purpose. Be careful about being your own worst enemy. Don’t doubt yourself. Be happy and grateful to be who you are!

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Your focus is on home, family and your private life in the next four weeks. Many will be involved in redecorating projects or renovations because you’re excited about making where you live more attractive and functional. Very likely, you will entertain more and invite people over to see what you’ve done. (This same influence can promote real-estate opportunities or residential moves for some.) An opportunity to change for the better will take place at home and within your family between the Solar eclipse on Oct. 25 and the Lunar eclipse on Nov. 8. Use this! Meanwhile, involvement with friends and groups might be stalled. Just accept this.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
The pace of your days will accelerate in the next four weeks. You will want to talk to neighbours, siblings and relatives because you have something to say! You will enjoy schmoozing with others! You will also enjoy your surroundings with greater appreciation – a rewarding experience for sure. In some fashion, you might improve your communicating style with others. Perhaps you will more easily tell someone that you care for them or how important they are to you in your life. This could be because your ambition is put in perspective now. It’s important to know what is really worth going after. This is something that you might reappraise or rethink for the rest of the year.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Financial matters are on your mind now because two close eclipses (Solar and Lunar) take place in both your Money Houses. This means you will give thought to your cash flow and your earnings. But you will also think more about what you need to be happy? What really matters? This is what it comes down to once your basic necessities are covered. Nevertheless, you will attract money to you, as well as think about moneymaking ideas in the next four weeks. Meanwhile, previous plans to travel and expand your world seem to be stalled in the water. As Julia Child always said, “It is what it is.” She also said, “I believe in red meat – red meat and gin.”

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Once a year, the Sun is in your sign for four weeks, and that time has arrived! This means it’s the beginning of your new personal year (birthday to birthday). When the Sun is in your sign, you are more energized. (In fact, it’s your chance to recharge your batteries for the rest of year.) It will also draw people and good opportunities to you. Take note that this is an excellent time to buy wardrobe treasures for yourself. It’s also a good time to improve your job or get a better job. Disputes about shared property, inheritances and insurance matters might become entangled, or they might even disappear. They will attract less energy. Focus on strengthening your home base and stabilizing family dynamics.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
In the next four weeks, you will want to lie in the weeds and keep a low profile. You are a future-oriented sign, which is why you like to have goals and have a sense of where you might be going down the road. Fortunately, you can use the next four weeks to set goals. After all, goals give you a clearer focus on what is important to you. (Sometimes we need the reminder!) Goals can also make future decision making easier. They give you a sense of purpose and better control over your future. These are things you value! Something might come up with a partner or close friend that creates a standoff situation. You might be unsure about whether to go forward or stay where you are.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You have a lovely, popular four weeks ahead of you! Not only will you enjoy the company of friends, especially artistic, creative people, you will also enjoy being more interactive with clubs and organizations. Many Capricorns socialize by volunteering and helping in community events. You like to make your time count, as well as enjoy yourself. Do be aware that November and December will be a challenge at work because you might feel held back, ineffective or challenged in some way. Even though you are willing, obstacles will make it tough for you to accomplish a lot. Meanwhile, romance and dealing with your kids will demand your attention in the next few weeks.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
You will be very powerful for the next four weeks because this is the only time of the year when the Sun is at the top of your chart shining down on you, casting you in a spotlight. Furthermore, this spotlight is flattering! This means you will be admired by others, especially bosses, parents, teachers and VIPs – even if you don’t do anything special. Obviously, you can use this to your advantage. Now is the time to make your pitch! Use this window of time to advance your agenda. Plans for a vacation or specific physical activities with kids, especially competitive, might be stalled for the next month or so. This means you have to work with what you’ve got. (But hey, you look good!)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Life is exciting because you are in a whole new world right now. This could be because you are able to travel and seek adventure more than usual. Or you might be exploring new avenues in publishing, the media, medicine, the law or higher education. Whatever the case, life has become more adventurous and thrilling! Obviously, if you can travel for pleasure in the next four weeks, do so! Be very clear in your communications with others to avoid misunderstandings. (This is the message of the Solar and Lunar eclipses for your sign.) Don’t push issues at home or within the family. Go with the flow. Decide to go along to get along. Make plans to boost your earnings!

Weekly Horoscopes Beginning Sunday, 23 October 2022

If you’re born within a cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you’re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You’re on the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.

Outlines are longer versions; consist of every possible detail of everyday and are based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don’t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.

Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19

Your horoscope for this week:

The past few months have been exciting; but now, your own doubts, combined with sudden changes in circumstances, are forcing you to review, if not entirely rethink, certain plans. While ordinarily you’d battle to continue existing arrangements, you’ll soon realise a top to bottom reorganisation is vital. Yes, this will cause delays. However, what you learn dealing with those delays will more than justify the patience required.

A job you take on will be more demanding than expected. Discussions with your boss or a senior colleague will turn out to be beneficial. If you’re looking for a job or hoping for a promotion but haven’t had a lot of luck with this recently, your luck could soon be changing. You can get excitable and emotional when new possibilities open up, but you must endeavour to be practical and sensible too.

As if Tuesday’s Solar Eclipse – which promises a fresh beginning weren’t enough, Jupiter returns to the first degree of your sign: commonly known as the World Axis. This offers a fresh start for all but bringing with it a dynamic new working partnership for Aries. True, this might not develop for some weeks yet, but the seeds be sown this week. Through the last few years, your problem-solving abilities have improved. You now know what is good enough, and what can yet be improved. With your confidence growing, and as Mars, your ruling planet, slows down prior to making its station at the weekend, you could focus on presenting your case for improved reward. Your negotiating skills would surely be improved both through rehearsal and with guidance from a career counsellor/experienced mediator.

Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Unsettling as sudden changes in plans may be initially, within days you’ll realise events are introducing both new ideas and people you wouldn’t otherwise have encountered. True, their place in your life won’t always be clear; but with the foundations on which plans are based shifting, the more flexible your thinking, the better. This open-mindedness will lead to experiences as worthwhile as they are expected.

An announcement will be timed for maximum impact. Serious debates could lead to someone making a courageous move with the hope other people will be behind them. If you support what they are doing, let them know. This could be the person who will turn things around. Change is in the air. Whether it is a change of scenery or something of more significant consequences, the bigger the challenge, the more interested you will be.

Tuesday’s Solar Eclipse is in your opposite sign and comes hard on the heels of Saturn, which has just stationed at the apex of your solar chart. This likely marks a new career adventure. It’s perhaps worth thinking back to a similar eclipse at this time of year in 2014. What career developments have there been since then? Who have you been doing business with? Can these have been taken forward to their next stage? There is much to suggest you’ve reached an apex. With Mars coming to its station at the end of this week, it’s a moment to reflect, and to consider your network. If it’s been a long time since you polished up your contacts and social media connexions, between this Solar Eclipse and the Lunar in two weeks’ time is arguably the optimum time to do precisely that. You may also find that you are moving money around more than usual but require the assistance of a Gemini, Libra or Aquarius to ensure that you are doing so within the rules.

Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20

Your horoscope for this week:

As a quick-thinking and often restless Gemini, you’re superb at juggling a range of tasks and objectives. The current planetary activity indicates several of these are changing, some both suddenly and dramatically. While you’ve a knack for rethinking even the most unexpected of developments, you’re urged to take it slowly. Gradually you’ll recognise how changes have cleared the path, enabling you to go in unexpected yet thrilling directions.

There’s concern that a senior colleague has made a hash of a job. This will feel like a frozen moment when a new leader needs to come forward who is interested in getting the work done to the high standards everyone is expecting. You may be lumbered with extra responsibilities as a result, but it never bothers for you to deal with a number of jobs at the same time. Displaying talent and confidence will open new doors.

It wouldn’t be so surprising, if you were involved in complex discussions some of which have legal overtones. It’s probable that you are now in the eye of a storm. Facts are important. Geminis have a reputation for grabbing headlines but not always investigating further. Now it seems the cosmos wants you to practice the fine art of research. True, you’ll perhaps enjoy this more if you could do it in partnership and preferably perhaps with a Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces. Whatever, following this Tuesday’s Solar Eclipse the need to dig deep is set to increase with a positive outcome reached by the winter solstice on December 21. Note that Mars will station in your sign next Sunday. Presently it’s movements are barely discernible. Suggesting that many people will be talking about you. Listen carefully. Their words could yet be your ammunition.

Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22

Your horoscope for this week:

The past few weeks have been so demanding you’ve neglected who and what matters most. Now, finally, you’ve a chance to make up for lost time. While, logically, you’ll want to compensate for those recent tricky situations, you’re urged to focus on something new and upbeat, from uplifting plans to adventures of some variety. These won’t just be fun; they’ll prove surprisingly healing as well.

There’s so much need for your attention that you might wonder where to begin. If there is any way you can reduce your options, now is the time to do so. Delegation might also be a good idea, although you will want to know you can trust those who are allocated essential tasks. A friend will keep on at you to do them a favour. Since this means so much to them, you might somehow find some time for them towards the end of the week.

Tuesday’s Solar Eclipse is in another of the Water signs and not dissimilar to one that took place in 2014. It may be useful to consider career developments that have taken place since then. A Solar Eclipse is a sophisticated New Moon. It doesn’t usually have effect on the day itself, but builds over time. What should be clear – since this eclipse coincides with Jupiter crossing the World Axis and a vital career point of your chart, – is that you are being mentioned in dispatches and have new opportunities developing. Your stature should increase manifesting as a job offer. You may be asked to take on a key role in a team and asked to consider a new job title. Between the end of this month and the solstice on December 21, should be considered research and development time. Allow your creativity full rein. Don’t self-doubt, and hold the thought that you have some very special gifts that are much appreciated.

Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Being a super-busy Leo, when you take a break, it needs to be both relaxing and lift your spirits. However, you won’t always recognise the promise of certain events or get-togethers right away. The secret? Ask those who often indulge in activities of this nature for advice. Not only will they make suggestions, they’ll give you valuable hints of how to make the best of your experiences.

You might feel you are running out of steam when you’ve faced one problem after another, and a project isn’t showing any signs of being completed. Activities are taking it out of you, physically and emotionally. You could do with a break, but if you sustain that spirit of determination, you’ve recently been putting into your work, you will win in the end. You might sense someone doesn’t trust you, yet you have never hidden anything from them.

Tuesday’s Solar Eclipse comes hard on the heels of Saturn’s final station in your opposite sign for three decades. It’s very likely that this is ‘make your mind up’ time. A solar eclipse is a sophisticated kind of New Moon. Between this event and the Lunar Eclipse in early November the Earth’s magnetic field is altered and behaviour tends to alter too. If you need to break a habit, this is the time to do it. This eclipse is not dissimilar to one that occurred in 2014. The cosmos doesn’t do exact repeats but you should anticipate career and domestic developments. Yet you’ve likely known these been coming for some time. With Saturn now in direct motion, you may find others are willing to move forward with you and that far from being held back by rules and regulations, some of these start to work in your favour.

Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Few things are more difficult for you than watching those you care about or who’re close in a work setting make unwise decisions or, alternatively, ignore their own wellbeing; but if you’ve warned them once, you’ve no choice but to back off. However, remain nearby. That ensures when you’re needed, as you will be, you can be there for them in a flash.

Disagreements in the workplace will relate to new routines and procedures. If someone in a high place really starts to force the issue, there will be no doubt about it; changes will result. Communications with someone some distance away will leave you feeling somewhat disappointed when they will not be able to give you the news you were expecting to hear. Trying something new with your partner or a close friend will take your mind off your worries.

Don’t be surprised if certain individuals dig their heels in. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius colleagues might appear intransigent. Don’t forget, they don’t have your multitasking skills. Having made clear decisions about what they want to do next, you might reasonably question their approach. Perhaps you don’t feel they’ve considered all options. This may not be the moment to deflect them. Having come so far, they need your support. The energy that coincides with this week’s Solar Eclipse should also bring you back in contact with people who live and work far away. There may be further job opportunities for you to explore. Indeed, the art this week, maybe not to focus too much on what others are planning, but to think about where you want to be by your birthday next year and what plans need to be implemented to get there.

Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22

Your horoscope for this week:

After a period of deep, and rewarding, personal reflexion suddenly the focus is shifting to dull practical or financial matters. However, unexpected and potentially profitable events will require swift attention and, quite likely, expert advice. The real problem is because you find matters of this nature dull, you tend to ignore events until the last minute. This time act swiftly. You’ll be glad you did.

For all the fun and games, there’s a serious element to a group activity. Whether you are fund-raising for a worthy cause or entering a competitive venture, there will come a time when the laughter ends, and a more responsible approach begins. Some people you know will be setting their sights far too high. You will be happy with small achievements. A little light exercise will help you relax as the week ends.

Saturn has now turned direct in the research and development area of your solar chart. It won’t make similar station now for another three decades. If, over the last couple of years, leisure time has been compromised or limited, know that soon you’ll be free of certain restrictions. True, there is likely more work headed your way, but perhaps not until March of next year. Focusing on the burst of energy that should come with Tuesday’s Solar Eclipse, you could start to think about developing a new revenue stream. Certainly, your financial antenna seems well tuned. It’s also entirely possible that with Jupiter on the world Axis and in your opposite sign, that you will be made an offer that really would stretch you – but also be one of the most exciting things to occur in your life journey. You perhaps don’t need to make final decision until the winter solstice so there is plenty of time for your scales to rebalance following the excitement and for you to consider options carefully.

Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21

Your horoscope for this week:

For ages change has been in the air. However, with the Sun and Venus moving into your sign on Sunday, and Tuesday’s powerful Scorpio eclipsed New Moon triggering dramatic developments, events could seem overwhelming. Actually, you and the world around you are in a cycle of breakthroughs, some as sudden as they are unsettling. Still, within a short while you’ll realise, they’re exactly what was needed.

What suits you may not be someone else’s cup of tea, and you realise this. That’s why when you decide to go ahead with specific ideas; you will understand it if a partner or close friend pulls out. You won’t mind leaving them to their devices while pursuing your own aims. A number of options are ahead for you now, and your dynamic and determined approach to your job and financial matters will pay dividends.

Tuesday’s Solar Eclipse (a special New Moon), is in your sign and not dissimilar to one that took place in 2014. The cosmos doesn’t do exact repeats – though you may experience ‘variations on a theme’. What’s singular about this week’s eclipse, is that it comes hard on the heels of Saturn’s last station at the very base of your chart. It won’t repeat this another three decades. The indications are that you will put down a career foundation stone. Of course, much depends on your age, and for some people this will coincide with a domestic move or at least plans to make one. For others, this is about the realisation of what gifts you have. Exploring options with experts and determining where you might specialise seems likely in the second half of this week.

Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Not only do you have a talent for making the best of even unexpected changes, often you’ll share the wealth. That is, you’ll inform others, and get those who’re interested involved. Whatever the case, you’re in a period of rapid and exciting change and discovery. Mostly, others will be delighted to join in, but if not, continue solo. You won’t be on your own for long.

Praise will come your way after you take the helm of a community project. A recent success will have earned you yet another stint in the driver’s seat. Your confidence is riding high, and your team will be inspired by your achievements. Taking some youngsters to a special event will fill your heart with joy as you watch their faces glow with happiness. Attend a glamorous event, and you could be in for the time of your life.

Although Tuesday’s Solar Eclipse isn’t in your sign, you could nevertheless be affected. Between Tuesday, and the Lunar Eclipse on November 8, you should find many people altering direction, breaking habits and generally moving on. It can be a discombobulating. With Mars about to station in your opposite sign at the weekend, you’re likely be close to the heart of the storm. You didn’t ignite it, you didn’t create it, and yet, you could feel the full force of its power. As your ruling planet, Jupiter, arrives at the World Axis too, it’s likely that others will look to you for guidance and perspective. They need your archival knowledge. This isn’t a case of showing off your knowledge – tempting as that may be as the Moon moves through your sign in the latter half of the week, – it’s perhaps more about guiding others to use information wisely.

Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Those who make promises or commitments, then don’t keep their word, aggravate you. The real problem is you refuse to accept certain individuals simply don’t think that way. However, there’s a secret. Since it’s unlikely they’ll focus on how they can contribute, actually get them to agree to certain tasks or responsibilities. Once they know what’s expected of them, the rest will be easy.

You’re inclined to make a decision while still waiting for important information. You just want to get this matter over with, but you could regret acting too quickly. You can’t assume you know it all if you don’t make an effort to find out everything. A disciplined and careful approach to work and health is necessary. If arrangements for later in the week involve your partner, make sure they know what you are planning.

Following on from your ruling planet, Saturn’s, station on Sunday, there is a Solar Eclipse that coincides with Jupiter’s arrival at the World Axis. This is likely to be a breath-taking moment for all. Saturn will not station in that area again for another three decades. Many people will choose this week to lay new career foundation stones and you may be surprised by their choices. Equally they could be astonished by your reaction. It’s probable that by the time Mars reaches its station next weekend, that you will draw a firm line in the sand and make clear that unless certain tasks are completed to your satisfaction by March of next year, that you will not take responsibility for the consequences.

Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18

Your horoscope for this week:

This is a week of change, some expected, but most of it as surprising as it is puzzling. The problem? While you’re aware of certain potentially tricky situations, certain individuals haven’t noticed. The sooner you begin discussing these with them, the more swiftly they’ll become part of your team. Bizarre as this seems now, within days you and others will be glad you’ve established this connexion.

Unlike a colleague who is utterly unprepared for an assignment at the start of the week, you will have come equipped with everything needed for the job. You really aren’t concerned about making a lot of profit. What’s more important to you is that your work cannot be faulted. Be sure to highlight your contribution to a team effort. Others underestimate your capabilities if you hide your light under a bushel.

For the final time in three decades, Saturn stationed in your sign on Sunday. That this event is followed by a Solar Eclipse in another of the Fixed signs implying the need for new beginnings, suggests that although you may be moving forward cautiously, you will be doing so with determination. That determination should be spurred by a strong sense of what is ‘right’. Jupiter arrives at the World Axis and though that obviously affects all signs, you could tune into that energy and focus on seeing things done your way. Note that Mars will arrive its station in another of the Air signs on Saturday. Rethinks are likely. You may find you don’t have sufficient knowledge, or that transportation or communication difficulties must be overcome before you can move forward at speed. This week may be all about determining exactly who you can work with – which might, eventually, man ‘changing sides’.

Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Judging by the current and coming weeks’ planetary setup, sudden developments could lead to thrilling, if puzzling, breakthroughs. While, as an intuitive Pisces, you’ll sense the direction they’re going and their promise, not everybody will be as quick on the pickup. This is best dealt with by talking over developments, day by day. Soon others will be up to speed, and after that, working as a team will be easy.

A journey undertaken on behalf of someone who is unable to travel will prove illuminating. It will undoubtedly give you a new perspective on this relationship. Household matters are starting to improve. You will receive benefits that are due to you that you knew nothing about. This should come as a welcome surprise. Discuss new long-term possibilities with the family. New opportunities are around the next corner. Your increased confidence and assertiveness will help push a particular interest toward success.

The extraordinary combination of Saturn arriving at its station, a Solar Eclipse in another of the Water signs, Jupiter moving to the World Axis and finally, next Saturday, Mars stationing at the base of your solar chart, suggests your world could be rocked. Leo and Aquarius colleagues are likely to make clear their intention to move on. Yes, they need support, and yes, it’s probable that they will look to you to provide that. There is further likelihood of alterations in your local environment that require you to rethink transport and communication systems. Rerouting in so many ways seems probable between this Solar Eclipse and the Lunar on November 8. There is also high probability of choosing to combine resources and to work more closely with neighbours.
