Light A Candle Today!
In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

BHC Newsletter Reta
December 21, 2020 – December 27, 2020.
Happy Holidays! This week the Sun moves out of Sagittarius and joins Mercury and Pluto in the sign of the sea-goat. Capricorn season is the time of the year to get your New Years’ goals in order and create a plan to make them happen.
During the middle of the week, Mars forms a nasty square to Pluto. Expect power plays and aggressive behavior. It’s best to walk away from any conflict that occurs because Mars square Pluto can take things to a level you don’t want to venture into. Avoid seedy places! This weekend, the Sun and Mercury trine Uranus. Shake things and explore beyond your comfort zone. New ideas and activities lead to long-term inspiration. The best candles for the week are Blessed Herbal Stability, Affirmation Guardian Protector, and Muse Blessing Kit.
Here’s what you missed on CoventryCreations.com this week…
Only love enters
Only love may enter here! This is not an exclusion, but an inclusion. We already have lots of troubles, stresses, and worries, we don’t need to add to that pile. Right now, each one of us needs more love, compassion, connectedness, and community.
Card of the Week: Ten of Wands
This week the Ten of Wands notes that you are taking on an extra burden, a heavier workload, or greater responsibility.
Even though it is weighing you down and making things tougher for you, you understand it is only temporary, so you are willing to put in the hard work now to accomplish your goal and reap the rewards later.
Sometimes, the Ten of Wands appears when you are unconsciously taking on extra responsibility and finding yourself feeling weighed down, exhausted and burnt out. You may try to do everything at once, even though you know it is adding extra pressure to your daily life.
Stop and examine your current lifestyle or work. Assess which activities or tasks are urgent or important. Your goal needs to be higher efficiency while also freeing yourself up for rest and relaxation when you need it.
The good news is that the Tens in Tarot represent the completion of a cycle, and with the Ten of Wands, the end is in sight!
Ask the Tarot: What tasks and activities can you delegate or eliminate?
9 of Cups
Pearls of Wisdom Tarot
Wishing you the brightest of Yule blessings! Take a moment to light a candle with gratitude for the return of the Sun and it’s warmth.
Celebrate the returning light of our Sun and honor the light within you. Know that you are blessed by the Divine. Mind, body and spirit. Always be thankful.
It is a time of magick, a time of Jupiter and Saturn’s Great Conjunction! Make a wish!
Jupiter In Aquarius – Abundant Visions
by Rubys Readings ~ https://rubysreadings.com/
For All Zodiac Signs
Today is a Brand New Day and a New Era! Jupiter enters a new sign into Aquarius, which is a fast-paced, exciting kind of energy that can be unpredictable throughout 2021. It’s a time of innovation and progression, as Jupiter can spread around some abundance once again.
Over the last year, Jupiter, the planet of growth, philosophy, and expansion, has been transiting the sign of Capricorn, alongside planets Saturn and Pluto in a very well structured Stellium connection. This trio has been dismantling our lives over the last year, in many different ways, so it’s been a time of crisis that brought out our fears to work through. It has been difficult to see the light at the end of this dark and stormy tunnel. Jupiter’s influence has been stunted, so it’s not been handing out miracles or blessings as usual. Instead, it’s been in restrictive Capricorn challenging our faith and spirituality.
Jupiter is all about expanding our horizons, as it seeks deeper meanings and spiritual truths, especially involving education, freedom, community, and ideals. Aquarius energy matches up better with Jupiter’s purpose. This helps us feel more comfortable as this energy is easier to take in. So maybe we can learn to enjoy ourselves again, without being locked down in 2021!
Jupiter has a strong need to be free of all restrictions and have open spaces to explore. Aquarius seeks freedom and independence at all costs. We are bound to break out of the whole Covid19 mess in one way or another! Saturn also moved into Aquarius on December 17th, so there still will be challenges and lessons as always with Saturn’s influence. And even though there will be times when we feel ourfreedom and independence are being infringed upon, Jupiter now can find ways to lift our spirits and pull us through while in Aquarius and later in Pisces!
Jupiter will shift into the sign of Pisces in May of 2021 when it goes Retrograde. This preview can give us clues as to how the energies will play out in October, once Jupiter shifts into Pisces throughout 2022! At that time, there will be a major shift, and our focus will turn towardsspiritual activities and we tend to feel more compassionate, loving, and forgiving anytime Jupiter is in Pisces.
Jupiter shifting between Aquarius and Pisces throughout 2021 will expand how we teach, learn, and communicate. We already had a glimpse into how quickly Aquarius energy can advance our technology game in 2020 when Jupiter was Retrograde. And we had no choice but to learn due to Covid19. These influences can help us align with causes for our highest-good! So while in Aquarius, Jupiter helps us tap into humanitarian efforts. And it makes it easier to connect to our tribe and like-minded people. We also may feel a stronger desire to help others, especially in group settings. Following a path that honors our true authentic-self is supported, and we can let go of what is no longer working.
Jupiter in both Aquarius and Pisces throughout 2021 syncs well together, because both signs have a deeper understanding of healing the world. This can help us focus on the bigger picture and keep in mind what’s best for all of us as a whole. We can feel this influence surround us, as it gives us a reason or a better sense of purpose to help bond our communities together. And fight for causes that affect all of us.
Jupiter will retrograde back into Aquarius in June and then finally move fully into Pisces by the end of December 2021. By this time, we should have a good idea of what our goals, hopes, and dreams are for a better, more connected world. Being under this blanket of Air Sign energy, we need mental stimulation to thrive on. But we will likely be craving spiritual and emotional connections strongly all year long. This energy helps to restore balance in how we relate to people, particularly with friends and socially. Our communication skills are on point, and we can share our ideas and opinions much more clearly with confidence. Good communication skills lead to solving problems and healing.
Jupiter in Aquarius encourages us to be the activist, and gives us a reason to give in from time to time. Once Jupiter is in Pisces in May for a short visit will learn strongly that a battle can be won when we surrender.
Jupiter will bestow some amazing gifts in 2021, especially without feeling so blocked or restricted. It’s a time of forgiveness, as we honor our intuition and feel more compassionate towards others.
Wishing you an abundant 2021. ~Ruby
Mercury Enters Capricorn – Mental Discipline
Dec. 20 – Jan. 8
For All Zodiac Signs
Mercury, the planet of communication, has been burning through Sagittarius, the most upbeat, extra sign in the Zodiac for the past three and half weeks. You might have felt more optimistic, open-minded, and outspoken over the last month with Mercury in Sagittarius. But this has made it more difficult to focus on the details or use our words as carefully.
Mercury moves into Capricorn on December 20th, giving you a stronger sense of mental fortitude, confidence, and a hardworking attitude. Mercury, is the planet that rules over our way of thinking, and thought processes. It’s that time again, to be practical about what works or doesn’t. Since our thinking slows way down, we can be more serious during this cycle, but really we are just more focused.
It’s a great period to seek out people you know who are experienced or wise, especially if they’ve accomplished something you want to achieve. These mentors or teachers can give out some valuable advice, and even may connect you with the right people who can help you achieve your goals in the long run.
Working harder becomes our motto again, especially with the Sun’s shift into Capricorn as well on December 21st. Just remember you’ll reap the rewards later from any time or energy you put into getting things done now.
With Mercury in Capricorn, our thinking is much more systematic, and our focus is more practical and sober. Under this influence, it’s much easier to concentrate on the task at hand. But our conversations can bring up reality checks, as we focus more on business and practical matters. Our thought processes and patterns of communication are more logical, orderly, and organized now. It’s just easier to sort out what is relevant and essential to KEEP THINGS REAL, as we speak no-nonsense, and being precise and cautious comes more naturally. However, we need to be wary of becoming too rigid with our thoughts and words, we can appear cold, cut-off, or harsh to others, and there is a fine line between being real and pessimistic.
The Earth Signs Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn can thrive under this influence, but the Cardinal Signs Aries, Cancer, and Libra might struggle to keep up until Mercury enters Aquarius on January 8, 2021.
Now that Mercury is in Capricorn, Mercury is asking you to take life a little more seriously. We’ve learned so much while Mercury was in Sagittarius, and now you’re able to use that information and knowledge under this cycle.

WELCOME THE WINTER SOLSTICE DECEMBER 21
December 19, 2016
In the midst of the holiday chaos, the Winter Solstice brings a moment of complete silence. December 21, 2020, marks the solstice. Winter solstice is an astronomical phenomenon which marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year.
The Winter Solstice is a time of reflection, during the darkest and longest night of the year. A time to spend with family and friends. A time to imagine what the coming year will bring. As an expression in nature, the Winter Solstice is the time to reflect on the power of our spiritual beliefs and the belief in the power of ourselves !
The winter solstice, the rebirth of the Sun, is an important turning point, as it marks the shortest day. Yule is deeply rooted in the cycle of the year, it is the seed time of year, the longest night and the shortest day, where the Goddess once again becomes the Great Mother and gives birth to the new Sun King.
Here Are Some Wonderful Suggestions to Start Winter Solstice Traditions
Feed the Wildlife – String cereal onto thread and drape it across the bare branches of trees for the wildlife to share… some apples too, hung on a thread. This is a wonderful gift to the creatures that share our world in the night, the longest night of the year.
Eat by Candlelight -Welcome the return of the sun by eating in only candlelight and firelight… thank the sun for all of its strength and energy, and for bringing light into our lives.
Release The Old – Use this time to release any old thoughts, patterns or unwanted energy from 2016. Just write down whatever comes, draw a picture. Sometimes words are not needed.
Welcome The New -One of the most important things that you can do is write out your hopes and dreams for 2020 on slips of paper, then light them on fire by candles or fireplace and watch as the paper transforms to smoke… carrying your intentions out to the universe. Your energy and intention is not unnoticed.
Please light a candle (white, gold, or silver) and spend at least 5 minutes in mindful mediation.
Make sure you take time to enjoy this sacred day in some special way.
Winter Solstice Blessings,
Amazing Nature . . . Watch out for the latest #Tango-in-the-sky
The great Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on Solstice (December 21) will be a once-in-a life opportunity to see Saturn and Jupiter together as a single star, known as the Star of Bethlehem in the evening south-western sky, close to the horizon.
The symbolism of this celestial event is a manifestation of the major shift in consciousness to recognize our own spiritual nature.
Walk in the beauty of your true identity and the grace of your internal light.

This is also the Winter Solstice. This is the time of the rebirth of the Sun God. It is the longest night (or shortest day) of the year, but yet it is filled with the promise of lengthening days of light to come.
The winter solstice has long been celebrated as the birth of the sun, of light, of life itself. It is a time for introspection, contemplation and planning for the future. Yule means “Yoke of the Year”, celebrated as the seed time of the year, the longest night and birth time of the new Sun King OR Son of God. On this darkest of nights, the Goddess becomes the Great Mother and once again gives birth.
Celebrated all over the world and in different cultures including the festival of Winter Solstice and the Christian festival of Christmas (US, Ireland, Britain, Europe), Yule (North Germanic, Scandinavians).

A Christmas Star Will Light Up The Virginia Sky For The First Time In Centuries
While 2020 has been anything but easy, it seems there may be something bright to look forward to on the evening of December 21st, also known as the Winter Solstice. Amidst the darkest day of the year – and arguably, the darkest year of the decade – we’ll be graced with a magnificent Christmas Star. It’s a phenomenon that hasn’t been observed in 800 years, and you’ll want to mark your calendar.
The Christmas Star, also referred to as the Star of Bethlehem, is a phenomenon that occurs when the planets of Jupiter and Saturn are so closely aligned that they appear to be one giant star from our perspective.
In other words, this “star” is actually our perspective of two planets drawing closer to each other. What’s all the more fascinating is that they’ll still be hundreds of millions of miles apart.
It’s been 800 years since this event occurred, and it will likely be a long time before it happens again. It’s believed that a similar event is what guided the three wise men in the Gospel of Matthew to Jerusalem.
Around 2,000 years ago, the Star of Bethlehem was likely the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter; not Jupiter and Saturn as will be the case in 2020.
It’s also believed that the star that tops many a Christmas tree is a nod to the celestial Christmas Star.
The best part of all is that the star will be visible from anywhere in Virginia. The trick will be to find a place without much light pollution and wait for the sun to set.
And given that it’s December 21st, the shortest day of the year, you won’t have to wait long! The sun will set at approximately 4:55 p.m. EST. You’ll also want to look closely because the planets will set shortly thereafter.
So if you’re eager to see something truly magical, prepare to be dazzled by the 2020 Christmas Star.
Do you plan on looking for the Christmas Star on December 21st?
Performing Daily Ceremony
Having daily ritual or ceremony in our lives is very important to keep us connected to what really matters.
When we perform or participate in rituals and ceremonies, we enter into a state of mind that is different from mundane consciousness. Ranging in significance from bedtime stories to weddings, ceremonies and rituals are acknowledgments that an event or period of time has special meaning. As a result, they can have the effect of drawing us into the moment, inviting us to pay closer attention and tune into the subtle energies that are always present but that often go unrecognized. In addition, as we perform the same actions we have performed before and will perform again, we immerse ourselves in a river of continuity that extends back into the past and forward into the future.
Many of us have distanced ourselves from rituals that may have seemed too constricting or too attached to an organized religion we have chosen not to follow. However, we can reclaim the practices of ceremony and ritual to good effect, imbuing them with our new consciousness, and we do not have to wait for a big event to do it. We can engage in daily practices that include ritual and ceremony, reminding ourselves throughout the day of the sacredness of this life. In fact, if we look closely, we will see that our days are already made up of rituals, from the time we wake up to the time we retire. So we do not need to change anything except our perspective to imbue our day with an air of ceremony.
Most of our daily rituals revolve around nourishing and cleansing, both of which have always been sacred acts. With this in mind, we may pause before each meal, close our eyes, and say a silent thank you to the universe that provides. If we want to get more elaborate, we can light candles or bless our food. Similarly, as we wash ourselves in the morning and evening, we can choose to see the grace in this act of cleansing and purification as we release what has past and prepare ourselves for the new. We can be as simple or as complex as we like, so long as our attitude is one of reverence for this sacred moment in this sacred life.
BY KATE FREULER
For this spell, you will need the following items:
- A piece of green cloth
- A green marker
- Pine needles
- Cinnamon or cloves
- Green ribbon
Find a quiet space where you’ll be undisturbed, with your items laid out before you. Envision yourself receiving money, either by imagining your bank account numbers going up or by visualizing a wad of cash in your hand. While you do this, draw a money sign ($) on the cloth with the marker, then write your name beneath the sign.
Hold all the other items in your hands, and see yourself living prosperously. Feel the relief of being debt-free, the rush of being able to pay bills with ease, and maybe even the joy of owning some nice things you wish you could buy. Place the items in the center of the cloth, then tie the edges tight with the ribbon, forming a little bag. As you knot the ribbon, say:
Prosperity comes to me, so mote it be.
Hang the sachet somewhere near your front door to welcome the prosperous energies.
Spell for Patience
BY CERRIDWEN IRIS SHEA
The holidays are often stressful on multiple levels. Every old hurt can come forward and rip open. It’s a good time to perform a patience spell. You will need a pink candle in a holder, rose oil, and a small rose quartz. Bless and consecrate your supplies. Anoint the candle and yourself with the oil. Light the candle.
Follow your breath and focus softly on the candle flame. Hold the rose quartz in your hands. Attune to your heart. Feel yourself fill with peaceful, patient energy. Imagine a filter around your heart that screens out and disposes of any harmful words, gestures, or energy sent your way but allows friendship, joy, and goodwill to enter. Imagine any negativity sent your way bouncing off like rain on an umbrella.
Ground yourself by standing with both feet on the ground and imagining any excess energy flowing into the earth. Take a deep breath to center. Be sure to extinguish the candle or let it burn down. Carry the rose quartz with you throughout the holidays.
Peace and Love Spell
BY ARI MANKEY
December 18 marks the end of Hanukkah, and with Yule and Christmas on the way, it’s the perfect day to celebrate our bonds and similarities as faith communities and human beings. For this spell, you’ll need five candles of any color in holders. As you light each candle, say one of the following lines and reflect on the connections and promise we have as human beings.
For the bonds we share as humans.
For the gods both known
For the seasons we all share together.
For the promise of a brighter tomorrow.
For the love we should all
share with one another.
After the candles are all lit, take a deep breath and reflect on the things we have in common with each other instead of our differences. Resolve to do what you can to make the world a better place and to celebrate our similarities. Extinguish the candles. Blessed be.
BY MELISSA TIPTON
For this spell, you’ll need a slip of paper, a pen, and a handful of salt or sand. Choose a decision or situation in which you feel stuck, and write a concise description of it on the paper. Place the paper on a table, and ring it with a circle of sand or salt, making sure there are no gaps. Spend a few moments feeling into this stuckness, noticing where it appears in your body and any thoughts or images that arise. When you feel ready to shift, say:
This stuckness that has held me tight,
I cast aside with all my might.
New options, ways, ideas appear,
The path ahead is free and clear!
Break open the circle of salt/sand with your fingers and feel the energy shift, then journal or meditate in this space to receive guidance on your next empowered action step. Rip up the paper and throw it away, along with the sand/salt.
Step Into Your Beauty Spell
BY THURI CALAFIA
The holiday season can be especially challenging at times as we hustle and bustle to get it all done. The upcoming company parties and family gatherings all call for us to be at our best, but often what we really want is just one evening to relax and enjoy some peace. For this spell, you’ll need to take that evening. Force yourself!
First, run yourself a nice hot bath and throw a pinch of salt, a squeeze of lemon, and a few rose petals into the water. Allow yourself a nice long soak while contemplating your “flaws.” Pull the plug and let the water drain away before you get up. Say:
My perceived flaws are
nothing but dross; cultural
constructs I no longer need.
Stand up and say:
I am perfect and wonderful just
as I am, for the gods made me.
Anoint your chakras with rose oil, if desired, repeating the above phrase.
Dissolving the Stress
BY MICHAEL FURIE
There are times when things seem overwhelming and we just need to rest and take the pressure off. Holiday time is usually chaotic even in the best of circumstances, but this day is also a new moon/solar eclipse in Sagittarius, so the frenzy might be at its peak. If you feel overwhelmed and in need of a break, try this quick magical technique.
If possible, burning frankincense or rosemary incense helps to enhance this work. Find a quiet place to sit and close your eyes. Envision a thin strand of light coming down from above and going straight through your body. Feel the light begin to expand, bathing and surrounding your whole body in silver-blue light. Sense this light cleansing you of any anxiety or stress. Now visualize that the light forms a protective mirrored shell around you to keep further stress at bay. It is done.
Honor an Ancestor
DECEMBER 15, 2020 BY TESS WHITEHURST
Maintaining an active, loving relationship with a deceased grandparent or other ancestor is a wonderful spiritual practice, and both parties (you and the ancestor) benefit. A simple but powerful way to do this is by having a dedicated ancestor altar somewhere in your space. This could be as simple as a candle placed near a framed photo, but you could also add incense, flowers, items that used to belong to the ancestor, food or drinks they enjoyed during life, perfume or soap they used to use, or anything else that reminds you of them.
Heartwings Love Notes 962: Teddy Bears don’t break.
Heartwings say, “Old fashioned toys may last longer and be more fun long term.”
As I’ve said before, my favorite toy was my old teddy bear. My other stuffed animals were beloved as well, and all attended parties together in my little domain called my room. Another special Item was my doll house. I delighted in making furnishings for it, and later setting it up with the small dolls I acquired as gifts. Something else I truly enjoyed was a set of old building blocks that had belonged to my father. With them I could build castles and houses and all sorts of towers.
My playthings would seem so simple compared with what is available to a child today. I marvel at the toys I see ads for, with all their different mechanical attributes and fancy add-ons. The good thing about the simplicity of my toys was the way they stimulated my imagination. My dolls did not walk or talk. They did drink and wet, though not at the beginning of my childhood, when they had cloth, not rubber bodies. The dolls available now are so lifelike the children who play with them don’t have to imagine they are real.
However, electronic toys need batteries or else to be plugged in. They break or get drowned all too easily. Most stimulate the mind, yet not the imagination, at least as the way simpler toys do. If they don’t fall apart or stop working, they are soon outdated. Teddy bears don’t go out of fashion. They have a warm and cuddly nature and their ears can hold the secrets of a child without anyone else ever being the wiser.
It seems to me that the children of today may be missing out on an essential aspect of childhood, one that can only truly be developed then: the use of the imagination to create wonderful stories and scenes, as well as whatever worlds of fun and fantasy they can conjure up. When the toy does everything for the child, what is left for the child to do? The toy may be entertaining, even teach something, yet does it truly stimulate the child’s creative growth or give the child the gift of expanding their capabilities to build new worlds of their own to inhabit. I hope every child has that opportunity and uses it.
May you find toys to enjoy playing with, even as an adult.
Blessings and Best Regards, Tasha Halpert

Five Scandinavian Secrets To A Happier, Healthier Life
Scandinavian winters are dark, cold, and long. Depending on the city, a typical day could have little to no sunshine, freezing temperatures, and lots of snow. Some people might see those conditions as a recipe for seasonal depression. But despite their harsh winters, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland have topped the World Happiness Report — which surveys 156 countries by asking their citizens how happy they are — for several years in a row.
So, what is it that makes Scandinavian people so content? The answer may lie in their approach to life — which contains several feel-good philosophies that promote an overall sense of well-being. Let’s take a look.
- Fika paus
The Swedish term fika paus roughly translates to “coffee break.” But there’s more to it than just grabbing a cup of joe and rushing back to work. A fika paus is more like a social ritual, giving you time to rest and reset. It consists of coffee, typically accompanied by a sweet treat, and is meant to be enjoyed with others and away from work. In Sweden, fika paus is so important that work is often scheduled around these breaks — and not the other way around.
How it helps: Prioritizing time for breaks and socializing each day can help with work-life balance, which may reduce stress.
Spending time in nature is a practice that takes many forms in many cultures around the world. In Japan, it’s known as shinrin yoku, or forest bathing. In Norway, it’s known as friluftsliv, or open-air living. But while forest bathing encourages you to spend time immersed in nature for a few minutes each day, friluftsliv is more indulgent. Rain or shine, it’s a commitment to getting the most out of those outdoor moments — whether it’s long camping trips through the mountains or leisurely strolls on the beach with friends.
How it helps: Time spent outside — even if it’s just at an urban park — can have a positive impact on our sense of well-being.
The Swedish idea of gokotta takes friluftsliv one step further. It’s the act of waking up early in the morning to go outside and listen to the birds sing.
How it helps: On its own, waking up early can make you more proactive — meaning you’re more likely to get things done. But with gokotta, you’re also spending quality time in nature. So, from the moment you wake up, you’re boosting productivity and your sense of well-being.
The long, dark hours of winter can take their toll. But instead of dreading the winter months, the Danish concept of hygge encourages you to embrace them. Hygge is about celebrating coziness and turning it into a type of self-care. Lighting candles, sipping your favorite tea, putting on a pair of fuzzy socks — these acts are hygge in practice. And the key to this practice is to find the joy in feeling warm and fuzzy, inside and out.
How it helps: Focusing on the positives in life — like getting cozy when it’s dark and snowy — can increase your overall sense of well-being.
Balance is essential to living a healthy life. Roughly translating to “just the right amount,” the Swedish and Norwegian concept of lagom is about making it a priority to always find balance in every part of life.
How it helps: Many things can be harmful to your health if not done in moderation — from overeating to not moving enough throughout the day to working long hours without breaks. This is why the concept of lagom is important. Finding the right balance can help you avoid damaging your health.
Happiness isn’t a location — it’s a state of mind. By putting these Scandinavian philosophies into practice, you may find yourself feeling happier over time and living a more fulfilling everyday life.
Where Emerald Isles Lie
The Celts are often used to describe people of the Celtic tribes (Galicia, Cornwell, Brittany, Scotland, Wales, Northern Spain, Bay of Biscay, Normandy, England) and their respective cultures and languages. The descendants of Middle Stone Age hunters, gatherers and fisherman, these polytheism people’s history is fragmented due largely to the fact that they often did not write anything down.
What we do know about the Celts is often taken from the literature recorded by early Christians, the Greeks and Romans and archaeological evidence. We also know that they found elements in healing primarily through the bounty of nature, the sacred honoring of places and objects and respect for their gods and goddesses.
I have attempted to honor the healing aspects of this fascinating culture, by tying together several themes we can relate to and find value in today. The process of claiming and adopting styles, religious beliefs and rituals has been repeated over and over again throughout time. Like the cultures before them and every culture after, The Celts have evolved over centuries with a history and folklore rich in myth, mystery and magic!
Simmer Pot Magick
And we mustn’t forget that the herbs, spices, and whole foods housed in our kitchens all carry their own energies and magickal properties.
So let’s use those items to assist us in manifesting our goals. You’ll easily be able to create a simmer pot that aligns with your intentions and smells delicious!
When I do a simmer pot with a specific intention in mind I follow these simple steps to incorporate my magick and mind into the process:
Set your intentions very clear in your mind and don’t lose sight of them for the entire process. Add ingredients to the pot and bring to a boil.
Reduce to a simmer, stir the pot clockwise. Unless you are doing a banishing or releasing spell, in that case stir the pot counter clockwise.
Visualize your desired outcome or goal for the magickal work you are doing. Are you aiming to create happiness in the home, or more money in your wallet? Whatever it may be focus on what you want the outcome to look like. Continue with the visualization and stirring until it feels right to finish. You’ll know when!
You may recite your goal, a chant, or ritual words while you stir as well. Something pertaining to your desired outcome.
When you finish I would let the pot boil down until there is about an inch of water left and then turn it off. Your work is now complete.
Of course feel free to change this process up so that it suits your own needs and magical practice.

Cooking With Spices: Cinnamon
Dr. Weil’s Healthy Kitchen
Cinnamon (Cinnamonum verum), the dried brown bark of the cinnamon tree, is one of the oldest spices known to humanity. Its fragrant, warm and sweet characteristics were mentioned in the Bible, as well as one of the earliest books on Chinese botanical medicine dating back to 2,700 BC. Cinnamon sticks were used in ancient Egypt, where it was at times considered more precious than gold. In medieval Europe, ground cinnamon was a mainstay of the spice trade.
More than 100 different varieties are cultivated today. “Ceylon cinnamon” and “Chinese cinnamon” are the most popular. Ceylon cinnamon – also referred to as “true cinnamon” – is produced in Sri Lanka, India, Madagascar, Brazil and the Caribbean. It is known for its relatively refined and subtle taste. Chinese cinnamon, also known as “cassia,” is produced in China, Vietnam and Indonesia It is less costly, and is the type most popular in North America.
The health benefits of cinnamon are numerous, and it is well known as an anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial agent. The therapeutic powers of cinnamon come from its essential oils, which have been researched for their anti-clotting effects on blood platelets. Cinnamon has also been studied for blood sugar control; it appears to slow the rate at which the stomach empties after meals, which evens out blood sugar highs and lows. Studies also suggest a therapeutic use of cinnamon for type 2 diabetes, as it appears to improve the body’s sensitivity to insulin. The journal Diabetes Care stated thatconsuming as little as one gram of cinnamon daily reduced blood sugar, triglycerides, LDL (bad) cholesterol, and total cholesterol in people with type 2 diabetes.
Although other analyses of relevant studies have found no improvement in diabetic patients taking cinnamon supplements, a review appearing in The Annals of Family Medicine seems to contradict those findings. According to data from recent trials of type 2 diabetics using cinnamon, there seem to be beneficial effects on both blood sugar and cholesterol.
While further research needs to be done to validate these findings, Dr. Weil suggests that because cinnamon is safe and easily added to the diet, those with type 2 diabetes should definitely use the spice in cooking.
The essential oils in cinnamon are anti-microbial, and appear to be highly effective in helping stop the growth of bacteria and fungi. Cinnamon has been shown to stop the yeast Candida and can be used as an effective food preservative: a study published in the International Journal of Food Microbiology showed that a few drops of cinnamon essential oil added to carrot broth inhibited the growth of the foodborne pathogenic Bacillus cereus for at least 60 days.
Cinnamon may also boost brain activity: research suggests that smelling cinnamon or chewing cinnamon-flavored gum enhanced study participants’ cognitive processing.
Cinnamon has been used for centuries for digestive disorders. It can also be used topically as a mouth freshener. Be aware that some cassia cinnamon products may contain high levels of coumarin, which may cause liver toxicity in very high doses (50 – 7,000 mg/day). People with liver disease should consult their physician before taking cinnamon in quantities higher than are typical for culinary purposes.
Nutritionally, cinnamon is an excellent source of fiber and manganese, and a very good source of calcium. This combination of fiber and calcium may reduce the risk of colon cancer – each, separately, has been shown to lower risk.
Dr. Weil’s take:
Cinnamon is available in powder form or sticks – rolled, dried pieces of the bark. Cinnamon sticks will last for up to one year stored in a tightly sealed glass container away from light or heat; the powder form will last half this time. When choosing, remember that powdered cinnamon has a much stronger flavor.
The warming, spicy flavor of cinnamon makes it a good complement to winter foods such as stews and hot beverages, as well as spicy foods like curries and moles. It is also a staple in baked goods, and can be added to fresh fruit, black beans and cereals.
What Cats Really Want for Christmas
by Angie Bailey | Dec 9th 2020
Here Are Six Presents Cats Would Scratch Onto Their Christmas Lists, Most Of Them Unwrappable, Yet Highly Coveted.
The holidays are upon us, and everyone’s writing their letters to Santa, hoping they’ll find that special something underneath the tree. Even cats have gift wish lists and would be pawsitively pleased to have their holiday dreams fulfilled.
A box of the month club makes for an ideal cat gift
Cats and boxes go together like eggnog and figgy pudding. Just like we humans enjoy a festive wine or jelly-of-the-month club membership, cats would delight in a box-of-the-month club. Imagine their joy in finding a brand new box sitting on the doorstep each month — and the boxes would be empty, not tainted with rubbish from their people’s online orders.
Gift your cat a broken faucet
Forget an expensive cat fountain; kitties are over the moon when we forget to completely turn off a faucet, and they can enjoy a little happy hour from the comfortable elevation of the kitchen or bathroom counter. What’s better than that? A broken faucet that constantly drips! It won’t easily fit inside a stocking, but it’s one of those “experience” gifts that will make Santa look like a hero. Plus, we save money on a repair person or expensive tools and plumbing parts. Double win!
Crumpled gift wrapping is the perfect cat gift
Most everyone enjoys opening gifts on Christmas morning. We, of course, look forward to the contents of the pretty packages; however, cats would rather pounce around in the crumpled paper of the gift-unwrapping aftermath. The trouble is, many of us thoughtless humans immediately toss the discarded paper into a trash bag, while cats sit on the sidelines.
Your cat would love a spycam
Cats like knowing our whereabouts every moment of every day. Even when they’re sleeping, their feline radar’s switch is flipped, and they can sense when we’ve entered their two favorite rooms: the kitchen and the bathroom. Kitties would love nothing more than a fancy spycam that follows us wherever we go outside the home. They’d be able to track when we’re in the grocery store looking at the cat treat shelves or (gasp!) petting another cat.
A case of toilet paper
Some cats are quite the artists when given the blank canvas of a toilet paper roll. Gifted kittens seem to show creative promise at a young age; however, mature cats have been known to create some legendary masterpieces in their studios (aka, our bathrooms). These artistic cats would be over the moon to find a case of gift-wrapped toilet paper underneath ol’
tannenbaum. Note to Santa: Single-ply rolls are perfectly acceptable for novices, while double-ply is reserved for more experienced paws. If a cat’s medium is triple-ply, you should probably contact a gallery and arrange a show, pronto.
Clones of us
Our kitties have a special bond with us and usually prefer us to be within their vision and earshot — you know, in case there are any treat- or warm laundry-related sights and sounds. If we have to leave our homes (perish the thought!), they feel utterly lost. Well, let’s be real — the lost feeling lasts about five minutes and then they’re in napland. What if cats had access to a clone of you, though? So even when we’re not home, we are home. It does sound a little science fiction-y and maybe creepy, but what if? Imagine a cat’s joy in a world where we never leave home and are constantly at their beck and call. We hear Santa has some pretty sophisticated factories up there at the North Pole, so you never know. And if an entire clone is impossible, identical reproductions of our laps would be a close second.
Santa In the Buff
by Stephen Halpert
While Gilberto and Maria head for home, here’s some Holiday Cheer
It was an especially cold Christmas Eve Day. Mrs. Claus was doing her best to help keep everyone warm by brewing up her special holiday spiced rum. She was surprised when she noticed that the barrel of holiday spiced rum had been generously sampled.
“Ho, ho, ho!” Santa proclaimed. “With all that talk about climate change it’s a good thing we have spirits a ‘plenty to share so everyone keeps warm.”
Even the reindeer grumbled about having to fly on such a cold, treacherous night. “Isn’t it time the old man sprung for a private jet,” Blitzen complained to Prancer.
“Then what would become of us,” asked a shivering Dancer. “Look at it this way, we only have to fly around the world one night a year. The rest of the time belongs to us.”
“Thank goodness for the Reindeer Union.” Prancer said. “Otherwise, who knows what we’d have to do.”
As for Santa, he was glad he had ordered his new red long johns but even they couldn’t keep him warm and give him sufficient comfort for the icy night ahead. He sat shivering in the Chief Elf’s office sipping spiked hot spiced rum.
“New stop along the way,” the Chief Elf told Santa. “Happy Acres. He consulted an old parchment map. Seems to be located off the coast of Everlasting.”
The elves loaded Santa’s rickety old sleigh. The reindeer were hitched up, Santa kissed Mrs. Claus goodbye.”
“You’ve been sipping our spiced holiday rum,” she groused. “Best to stay away from children. We wouldn’t want them thinking Santa Claus has a drinking problem.”
“Ho, ho, ho,” he said giving her a slightly longer than usual hug. He climbed into his sleigh, cracked his whip and shouted “Up, up, and away.”
“Here we go again, sniffed Blitzen as they lifted the weighted sleigh into the cloudy night.
According to his delivery schedule Happy Acres turned out to be his last stop. As his sleigh landed, surprisingly he encountered three lovely young women dressed in nothing but their bare skins.
He blinked and blushed slightly. “Merry Christmas,” he said jovially.
“You can’t get in,” they chorused, “not the way you’re dressed.”
“But I’m Santa Claus,” he proclaimed. “I always dress this way.”
“Not here, not at Happy Acres. We’re not one of those high-end clothing optional resorts. We’re a magical, old fashioned nudist colony.”
“Nudist colony? You mean even in this cold weather?”
They all laughed together and then introduced themselves. “Hi,” I’m April,” said a leggy blond.
“Happy Holidays,” grinned a lithe redhead. “I’m May.”
“Why are you all dressed up,” asked a scintillating brunette?
Santa gazed at them and scratched his head. “Aren’t you cold?” he asked.
They laughed again. “Once you get out of that puffy red suit, you’ll see how warm nothing on can be.”
“This is very irregular.” Santa couldn’t keep from blushing.
“Let us help you out of all that unnecessary textile,” April said.
`”You’ll feel so good,” May assured him.
“We can make snow angels,” June invited.
“Come on,” April said. “Give it a try. You might find nudism quite habit forming. Plus, you’ll save a bundle on laundry and dry cleaning.”
“Of course,” April assured him. “It’s so healthy being au natural out here in the snow.”
The very thought of that caused Santa to shiver. “Why I’ve never even taken off my gloves outdoors.”
“Once you remove those depressing textiles, you’ll feel a lot happier with no dressed up concerns.”
April began unbuttoning Santa’s puffy red coat. May started unfastening his boots. June took his Santa cap and looked at it oddly.
“People really cover their heads with this? How absolutely repressive. Your brains need to feel free.”
April started unbuttoning Santa’s heavy black trousers.
“Please! Not in front of the reindeer!”
But nothing he said could kept the three charming nymphs from their task. And within moments, all Santa had left was his new red long johns. “This is very irregular,” he complained.
“Give it a try,” April coaxed. “Remember no one is born dressed. Nudism is a completely natural state.”
“I suppose that that’s true,” Santa said.
Finally, his new red long johns were taken from his body and added to his pile of clothes. A very surprised, somewhat embarrassed and definitely chilly Santa stood looking at the three nude maidens. They smiled, and giggling took his hands. “Come on let’s go make snow angels after a dip in the icy pond
Quite surprisingly, after a few splashes Santa wasn’t cold anymore. He felt younger, lighter and happier than ever. His eyes appeared way bluer, his grin wider and his boyish spirit blossomed.
“This is wonderful,” he jumped up and down. Then as April, May and June hugged him, he began laughing.
“You have beautiful white hair,” April said.
“And such bold features,” May added. “I’d love to paint you just as you are right now.”
“Maybe you’ll stay with us here at Happy Acres,” June suggested.
“I’m certainly feeling better than I did than earlier today. But I have a job to oversee at the North Pole.”
“Maybe you could stay for just a little while. Even Santa Claus deserves a vacation.”
Santa wondered how Mrs. Claus and the Chief Elf would respond to his newly discovered freedom. He shared his concerns.
“Bring them to Happy Acres. Once your wife and friends experience naturalism they’ll be so happy,” April assured him.
“And warmer,” May smiled. “Nudism is so magical.”
“Come on Santa, let’s go to the clubhouse and meet all the residents,” June urged. And he did.
Inside the clubhouse the residents were dancing around a tall green spruce. No one appeared self-conscious, and Santa sensed there were no cares concerning the usual everyday inhibitions of life.
After many hours of frivolity with his new friends, Santa proclaimed “I have to leave now. It’s been wonderful, and I appreciate learning what naturalism is all about. I’ll be back for sure.”
As the morning light dawned Santa climbed back into his sleigh for his flight back home. He felt so much younger and happier.
Even the reindeer seemed happier. As his sleigh rose upward, he waved to his newly discovered friends. “I’ll be back,” he assured them. “And perhaps next time I’ll even bring Mrs. Claus with me. Merry Christmas to all,” he said gleefully as the reindeer lifted him above the stars.
Retuning to the North Pole, Santa looked forward to sharing his adventure as a naturalist with Mrs. Claus and the chief elf. He enthused about the fun he’d had frolicking in the buff with his new friends.
Mrs. Claus frowned and turned to the Chief Elf, “Best we do something about the potency of the Holiday Spiced Rum we concocted.”
The Chief Elf nodded in agreement, “Yes indeed,” he said, “best we do.”
Georgia’s Weekly Horoscope
December 20, 2020
On this Winter Solstice, Monday, Dec. 21, Jupiter and Saturn will be the closest they have been since 1623. (That’s 400 years ago!) This great conjunction marks the end of a 200-year era and the beginning of a new one. But really, it’s more of a constant flow of subtle changes. From 1820 to 2020, the seeds of the new era came with television in the 50s, home computers in the 80s and the Internet for the masses in the 90s. Looking ahead, technological advances will be mind boggling! (“Beam, me up Scotty.”) The move towards a global village and world government will encourage equal opportunities for everyone. Look up in the skies to see this rare event. The Santa fans call it the “Christmas Star.” (And you know that when you stop believing in Santa is when you start getting clothes for Christmas.)
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Bosses, parents, VIPs and even the police will think you are wonderful in the next four weeks. That’s because you will impress others without even doing anything special. (Oh, the power of it all!) The reason for this is this is the only time all year that the Sun is at the top of your chart acting like a spotlight on you — and this spotlight is flattering! (You can’t go wrong.) Travel opportunities appeal but can you travel? Meanwhile. this great conjunction mentioned in All Signs above will begin a new kind of popularity for you. New friends, new groups and new associations are all waiting for you to appear.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
The next four weeks are interesting because three planets make you want to explore your world and do something different. “I need a change!” If you can’t travel, which would be ideal, then make every effort to learn something new so that you are stimulated by new ideas, new knowledge and fascinating discussions with others. It might be fun to learn a new language? Meanwhile, this great conjunction (see All Signs above) takes place at the top of your chart, which certainly bodes well for your career and your reputation with your peers! Great things await you. People have expectations of you in the coming year and you won’t let them down.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
You will be intense and passionate in the next four weeks. Perhaps something important is at stake? Whatever happens, you will not be casual about things. Everything will matter. Issues will be black-and-white, good or bad. However, in the bigger picture, you want to get outta Dodge because you need a change of scenery. It’s in your nature to thrive on variety and stimulation; and many of you are getting cabin fever. Personally, relations with partners and close friends will be warm and supportive. Nevertheless, do something so that you feel some kind of exciting change! Shake things up a little.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
The next four weeks are the only time all year when the Sun is opposite your sign. Because the Sun is your source of energy (symbolically speaking in your chart) it means it is now as far away from you as it gets all year, which means you will have less energy. This means you need more sleep and more rest. Don’t ignore this and get run down. Mercury is also opposite your sign now, which means you will have lively discussions with partners and close friends. You might even attract someone very chatty to you. Meanwhile, the great conjunction mentioned in All Signs above takes place in one of your Money Houses. This bodes well for you! It means that the universe is going to open up and give you favours. Expect to benefit from banks, partners and the resources of others in the coming year. Ka-ching!
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Suddenly, you’ve decided to swing into work mode. So much to do! Actually, you want to be better organized and efficient during the next four weeks. This is why you will do everything within your power to pull your act together so that your world is running smoothly around you. You want that reassurance. When you achieve this, then you have greater freedom to do the things you really want to do or deal with certain, necessary challenges. Nevertheless, Venus is in a part of your chart dealing with parties, fun activities with kids, sports and the arts so you will still have some fun. (Did you ever doubt it?)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Lucky you! You’re entering a wonderful four-week window that encourages you to enjoy life and do your own thing. Playful activities with children, exploring the arts, enjoying sports and just feeling good about life will be your theme for the next month. Family relations will be warm and friendly. You will enjoy redecorating where you live and making it look more attractive. If you can entertain at home in some way – you will. You might dramatically improve your health in the coming year, you might also get a better job or certainly, improve your existing job.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
This Winter Solstice marks a time when you will start to focus on home, family and your private life much more than usual. In fact, in the next four weeks, you will welcome opportunities to cocoon at home and be more involved with a parent or family members. You might address certain home repairs. Family discussions will be important. Quite likely, you will feel more peaceful and appreciative of your surroundings. You will feel gratitude. Meanwhile, this important conjunction mentioned in All Signs above might lead to a more rewarding relationship with your kids. It will also encourage you to value your creative talents.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
For different reasons (some of them quite obvious at this time of year) you’re ready to swing into action! The next four weeks will be busy because your schedule will be full of appointments, errands, time spent with siblings and work plus increased studying, reading and writing. You have much to do! If you can, you will also travel or take short trips. The good news is you will attract money to you. You might get a raise or boost your earnings. You also want to spend money on beautiful things for yourself and loved ones. The great conjunction mentioned in All Signs above will bring about improvements to family and home. Whatever happens will please you.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
You’re going to give more thought to cash flow, money and earnings in the next four weeks – definitely. Many of you will have excellent moneymaking ideas. Furthermore, with Venus in your sign, you will be charming and diplomatic with everyone. This will also be a time where you will enjoy playful banter with your kids, sports and competitive activities. The great conjunction mentioned in All Signs above is a signal that you’re heading into a year full of change – but it’s positive change. You will find that you are more confident and “thinking big”, which is what you like to do. You were born for big ideas – and you know it.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
This is your hour. The Sun is now in your sign where it will stay for the next four weeks giving you a chance to recharge your batteries for the rest of the year. You are going to feel fulfilled, regenerated and rejuvenated! Others will notice you. In fact, you will attract people and favourable situations to you. Secret love affairs are taking place for some of you. Some stress on the home front is likely due to some kind of chaos. Meanwhile, your financial fortunes are getting ready to improve. Oh yes, you are going to get richer in the coming year! Music to your years because all Capricorns like to think they have a secure old age. (Why not a secure young one?)
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Your personal year is ending very soon; however, your new year has not yet begun until your birthday arrives. That’s why you are in a state of limbo for the next four weeks. Many of you will choose to play things low-key and hide behind the scenes. Others will get cozy with friends, clubs and organizations. Despite your low-key approach, your communications with others will be direct and strong. That is one thing for sure. Meanwhile, the great conjunction mentioned in All Signs above happens in your sign! This means you’re moving into a new area where you will feel more relevant. You will feel people understand you and in turn, you understand what’s going on. How refreshing!
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
You’re entering a lovely, four-week window when you will be more popular and enjoy the company of others, especially younger people. You might also play a leadership role in a group. Meanwhile, you will create favourable impressions on bosses and people in business, and anyone connected to your professional life at this time. In fact, regardless of what you do for a living, others will want your input about design, layout, redecorating or PR decisions. Some of you might begin a romance with someone older or more established. You will also start to explore your private, inner world and your spiritual values more than usual. You realize this isn’t just a rehearsal – it’s the real deal. Be there or be square.
Weekly Horoscopes beginning Sunday, 20 December 2020
re born within a cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); youre advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You`re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.
Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don`t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.
Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19
Your horoscope for this week:
Recently, developments have gone your way. While these events were amazingly agreeable, the coming weeks could seem disastrous, at least initially. With powerful planetary activity altering the foundation on which plans are based, it
s about either getting involved in unwise battles or completely surrendering control. Questionable as the latter seems at the moment, within days youll realise destiny has a far better plan for you.
Recent trends and discussions could deceive you into thinking Christmas is going to be quieter than usual. An unexpected invitation or a simple change of mood could lead you to spending some time in an unfamiliar place or seriously discussing arrangements for a holiday in the not-too-distant future. Expect to have to take on a management role at an event or gathering when you seem to be the only one who has the experience to get this project underway.
Astrologers have been writing about this winter solstice for years. This one is indeed very special. It coincides with the first Jupiter Saturn conjunction in Aquarius for a very long time. It also marks the beginning of a 240-year cycle. Having left the career areas of your solar chart, these two planets now move on into the networking area. Of course, it might be necessary for you to take a different approach to your career following this peculiar year. Reviewing your CV would surely be wise. You might also need to accept that a power struggle cannot go on indefinitely. Before Mars leaves your sign at the beginning of 2021, there are doubtless things you need to say. Of course, the timing could be better (given end of year festivities). Even so, making clear your position – most likely as the Moon moves through your sign over Tuesday and Wednesday – should prove therapeutic.
Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20
Your horoscope for this week:
With five of the planetary heavy-weights, including your ruler Venus, moving into new signs within a week, changes aren
t just inevitable, theyll lead to timely breakthroughs. True, initially, events may seem disruptive, nothing more; but that`s often the case when sudden developments are forcing you, and probably others, to take a major leap, and swiftly. Details, can be dealt with when the dust settles.
It may be Christmas but this won
t stop you from fulfilling all routine obligations and responsibilities. Financial matters are influenced in a pleasing way. If youre keen to make an extra pound or two, put your imagination to use. Have a look at some unusual ways of increasing your income. Bear in mind too that what you consider to be unwanted items might be just what someone else is keen to buy. Your financial prospects will soon be taking a turn for the better.
Neither your parents, grandparents, great-grandparents or even several generations before (even if they, like you were born under the sign of Taurus), have experienced anything similar to conditions prevailing for you this week. For the first time in centuries, Jupiter and Saturn align at the apex of the Taurus solar chart. This is big news. It suggests that your career is about to go off at fresh tangent. True, you could do your usual Taurus thing and try to cling on to old ways of working (Taurus is a Fixed sign). They won`t work. You need now to embrace new technologies and new ways of operating. Yes, in the process you might need to say goodbye to expertise on which you have relied for many years; and yes, that could be painful. Yet by the end of this week, it should be clear that you are a valued member in a new team and that in 2021, you will be stepping out of your comfort zone and feeling exhilarated by adventure as you do so.
Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Since the powerful Gemini eclipsed New Moon on 30 November, you
ve been juggling welcome changes with unsettling if not worrying, developments. Now, with pivotal events influencing every sign, youre not alone in juggling the pros and cons of a range of decisions. The solution? Where possible, join in with others to devise arrangements that work, for now, but which give everybody room to explore every option.
Money seems to evaporate before your eyes. You`re feeling generous and wanting to splash out on some special gifts for the people you love. Even so, do your best not to let extravagance get out of hand. Without taking on the appearance of being stingy, start thinking in a long-term sense about what will need to be bought or paid for once the Season of Goodwill has passed. A creative talent will come in useful when spending time with younger members of the family.
For the first time in your lifetime, Jupiter and Saturn align in Aquarius in an area of your solar chart associated with greater learning. Your thirst to acquire information is set to increase greatly. It wouldn
t be so surprising if you thought about undertaking a course in 2021. Improving your qualifications and expanding your horizons is set to be high priority. Yet it is often the case that in order to propel oneself forward, its necessary to experience a push. So yes, you might use anger or irritation to propel yourself forward. That this super-rare alignment coincides with both the winter solstice and the Moon`s arrival at First Quarter phase adds emphasis to the idea of moving on. Excited and active as you may be, be prepared to need a few days next weekend to gather your thoughts and yes, define the various stages and steps needed to ensure solid and safe progress in 2021.

Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22
Your horoscope for this week:
ve an energetic, enterprising streak, but also try to ensure your work and lifestyle are on a firm foundation. Consequently, the events triggered by recent powerful planetary activity and the pivotal Cancer Full Moon, on the 30th could seem worrying. While unsettling, theyre typical of periods of breakthrough, such as this is. If in doubt, be bold. You`ll soon learn how wise this approach was.
After a big disagreement you should be relieved to find a good deal more harmony surrounding you and your family this Christmas. If you need any favours or assistance, now is the time to ask. You might get together with your colleagues or housemates to clear up any outstanding chores that need to be completed before the Big Day arrives. Charm will open new business doors for you. You will receive recognition for your hard work in the form of a Christmas bonus.
You may already know that the Sun moves into your opposite sign on Monday. This year that event coincides with a First Quarter Moon at the apex of your solar chart. These factors alone suggest that you are turning professional corner. When we add the super-rare alignment of Jupiter and Saturn (their very first conjunction in Aquarius in your lifetime), then we really are talking about turning a fresh page. Exciting as this may be, it
s probable that these alignments are having major effect on close friends and partners too; and yes, its possible that you will feel that your boat is being rocked a little too much. You will need frequent periods of
time out to regroup, re-think and hopefully delight in the hope of promise and potential. Actually, it could be made abundantly clear mid-week that you really are riding the crest of a professional wave. The seeds of this were probably sown much earlier in 2020 but stalled for reasons quite beyond your control. You might then appreciate the wisdom and support of a Capricorn who, although battling winds of change themselves, sees that you have so, so much more to offer and that 2021 could be
Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22
Your horoscope for this week:
For ages you
ve known that, sooner or later, youd have to reorganise elements of your way of living, working or certain close alliances, but you haven
t known where to begin. Now, suddenly, with Mercury, your ruler the Sun and both Saturn and Jupiter moving into new positions within a week, destiny organises those changes and, possibly, others for you. While unsettling, mostly its a relief.
A warm and cheerful atmosphere in the home should not be ignored or fought against. If you are romantically linked with another you can expect extra helpings of tender loving moments. Be sure this isn
t one sided. An unexpected display of creativity from a youngster in the family will make you extremely proud. Mixing business with pleasure will lead you to an opportunity to make a personal dream to come true. Dont hesitate while the chance is there.
s super rare alignment of Jupiter and Saturn in your opposite sign coincides with both the Winter Solstice (one of the most powerful days of the year) and with the First Quarter Moon in another of the Fire signs; and yes, youd likely be right to deduce that this is a springboard. Whilst it will take Jupiter about six years to travel through the upper half of your solar hemisphere, it takes Saturn fourteen years to make the same journey. Jupiter though leads the way. It
s highly likely that from Monday, doors that had previously been closed will be open to you. Even if unable to travel, contact with those who live and work far away is probable. You may not be the only sign of the Zodiac that decides the best fuel to move forward is a little anger (or exercising your lions roar). That said, by the end of what promises to be a super exciting week, you could be exhausted and exhilarated by the clear potential offered for 2021.
Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Recently, you were debating the wisdom of minor changes. Now, suddenly, you and others are juggling shifts as sudden as they are dramatic. While unsettling, they
re also timely and, better yet, youve sidestepped the inevitable debates talking things through in detail would have required. For now, continue to discuss and explore your options. What`s merely a good idea this week could turn out to be miraculous next.
Close relationships and friendships come under the spotlight. Although most people will be cheerful and cooperative there is someone whose moodiness will upset you. So, this Christmas may at times call for you to show patience, tolerance and understanding in a big way. Whether you are linked to someone in business or in romance, there may be a need to be flexible and slightly unconventional in your thinking.
Monday marks the Winter Solstice (one of the four most powerful days of Earth
s year). Traditionally this marked the beginning of a new season. In 2020, this solstice coincides with the super-rare alignment of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius. This also coincides with the First Quarter Moon. Its probable then, that ideas that were first circulated around the Spring Equinox in late March of 2020, will come back for review. Yours is a sign known for being willing to embrace quirkiness. Yes, Virgo PR implies efficiency and precision – but that doesn`t exclude using humour and going off at curious tangents. It seems that you are priming ready to do exactly that in 2021. Spurred by decisions taken by those born under the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn you could, by next weekend, be in the throes of formulating a plan that would combine compassion with creativity.
Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22
Your horoscope for this week:
For ages you
ve said little about a range of issues, mostly because you were unsure about your views regarding each of these. However, the current powerful shifts in the heavens are making it clear its time to stand your ground. No matter how unsure you are, once you
re actually discussing the pros and cons of various changes, decisions and plans, youll also be more confident what comes first.
With you thinking about relationships this would be a good time to repay favours. If you
re in the mood to do so, put your mind to duties and tasks youve been putting off getting to grips with. It will be easier to deal with complicated issues by working quietly on your own. Accept any challenge that helps you prove to yourself and to others, what you are capable of. Medical matters will be less worrying than you may have been fearing.
On Monday, and for the first time in your lifetime, Jupiter and Saturn form a conjunction in the research and development area of your solar chart. Make no mistake: this is big news. The whole cycle is over two centuries long and obviously you won
t live through all that: yet what you will likely form a key foundation. That this cosmic event coincides with the Winter Solstice (when the Sun takes up position at the base of your solar chart) and, this time, with the Moon reaching First Quarter in your opposite sign, suggests that this really could be the start of something big. True, you could feel overwhelmed and yes, it is possible that there will be moments when you feel others are pushing you into action before youre ready. There is no rush. Though much probably needs to be agreed before the end of the first week of January, you can afford to take time and, using your natural gift the strategy, formulate a workable schedule.
Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21
Your horoscope for this week:
While your silence on a range of tricky matters once made sense, you
re increasingly aware these dont just need to be discussed, soon the wisdom and support of others will be vital. Yet you
re unsure how to begin. Actually, others know whats on your mind, but have respected your wish to keep things to yourself. Events, this week and next, will change everything, possibly overnight.
A team spirit will make this Christmas extra special. Even online communications will add a touch of festivity to your days. If you`re planning a small get together, you may have to be the one to get others in an organised frame of mind. Some gentle coaxing will achieve the desired result faster than ordering people about. It may be Christmas but you may need to deal with someone like a builder or repair person. If so, shop around for estimates.
Not only does Monday mark the Winter Solstice, but this event, in 2020, coincides with the super-rare alignment of Jupiter and Saturn at the very base of your solar chart. You haven
t lived through this combination before. Yes, Jupiter makes passage through Aquarius every dozen or so years and Saturn every three decades: that they are coming together describes afull stop
moment when you place a foundation. Legacies and asset management might now require extra attention. It could be that neighbours or colleagues are moving on and that there is a redistribution of both information and items as a result; and yes, temporarily, you could find your home and office space cluttered with extra items. yet there is high probability of you sensing that you are beginning a journey that doesnt need to be completed in a rush and that in the coming year, you`ll explore latent talent that puts you on fresh career path.
Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21
Your horoscope for this week:
Your ruler Jupiter moves into a new sign once a year. While that
s a big deal, the fact its moved along with the powerful Saturn, into one of the most inquisitive angles of your chart, indicates you
re beginning an exciting new cycle. While you may already be aware of certain of these changes, others will be as surprising as, over time, theyll be delightful.
It isn`t always easy but try and wait before you make judgements on newcomers to your world. Hold back from criticising the actions of people you are familiar with. Remember that first impressions may not hold true. Someone with different beliefs or who is from a different culture could be interesting to get to know. This is a good month to work on personal and professional relationships and to strengthen the ties of friendship. Joint activities will give your life depth and meaning.
When your ruling planet, Jupiter, changes signs there is usually more than obvious ripple in Sagittarian affairs. Jupiter entered Aquarius just yesterday. This Monday, it makes its first alignment with Saturn in Aquarius for the first time in your lifetime. That this event coincides with both the Winter Solstice and with the Moon
s First Quarter in Aries suggests this will be dynamic moment for most signs. For your financial pressures might require attention. Though much depends on your personal chart, its probable that you
ll feel that certain brakes are coming off and that there are many possibilities yet to explore - particularly on the career front. Perhaps through new neighbours or colleagues you could yet make useful contacts. Yes, end of year festivities that might enable this: its as likely that someone who has wanted to be in touch for some months but has perhaps felt unsure as to what the reception might be, will make contact.
Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19
Your horoscope for this week:
s rare any sign has so much excitement, in such a short time. This begins with your ruler Saturn departing Capricorn on the 17th, and Jupiter on the 19th, two days later. Add the Sun and Mercury actually moving into your sign on the 20th and 21st, and every days an adventure. The secret? Do exactly that. Forget about planning and see where life takes you. It will be huge fun.
You have achievements to be celebrated. Just take care that success doesn
t bring more than simple praise from your boss. Because of your efficient handling of a tricky job others might expect you to always deal with the same sort of problem when this isnt what you want. It`s important, this Christmas, not to spend all your time working hard. Be sure to have some fun and relaxation too. Pause to reconnect with an old friend.
You might want to celebrate. True, this is your birthday month. As of Monday, Saturn (your ruling planet) at last leaves your sign and won
t return for another three decades. Its conjunction with Jupiter (the first of its kind in your lifetime) coincides with both the Winter solstice and with the First Quarter Moon in another of the Cardinal signs, suggests you will feel to have reached a springboard. You wont be the only sign using irritation or anger to propel yourself forward and could find yourself exceptionally busy in the first half of the week mopping up what appears to be an old mess. Whereas at the start of the year you might never have imagined where you are now, you might agree that in recent months you
ve carried extra responsibilities whilst supporting others. This is very much part of the Capricorn quest. You should be applauded for what youve achieved. Know too, that if you do take time to revise your CV which would be wise, by next weekend, you should see that you are more marketable now than you were at the start of the year.
Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18
Your horoscope for this week:
On occasion, destiny decides it
s time not merely to make a few changes but to conduct a top to bottom rethink of your current life and future plans. This is triggered by the arrival of practical Saturn, on the 17th, and restless Jupiter, on the 19th, into Aquarius. Tempting as it is to wait and watch, youre better off making decisions now, but ensuring they`re flexible.
A hyperactive friend will surprise you by showing a more cautious and careful side you never thought existed. It could be they`ve been hiding behind this front due to feeling overwhelmed with all the changes this past year has brought. Avoid making an issue of this sudden change in character. Take the time to develop closer bonds with your friends. This will make you feel more secure in your emotional relationships.
This Monday, and for the first time anyone living on the planet (or even of your great-great-grandparents), Jupiter and Saturn aligning your sign. This marks the start of a cycle that will last over two centuries. You could view this as being the start of a space age: the last 60 years had just been the overture. Those who are willing to embrace the new should find 2021 super exciting. It`s reasonable to expect that Aquarians will be leading from the front; and yet: those of your sign are known to value tradition whilst also accepting the need to embrace new ideas and concepts. So, you may need to cope with an internal struggle over the next couple of weeks. You will need to think out of your usual comfort zone. It will surely help to have those born under one of the Fire signs of Aries, Leo or Sagittarius around to play with some of your ideas. Coupled with their natural spontaneity, you could yet move forward at fast speed at the beginning of 2021.
Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20
Your horoscope for this week:
As an intuitive Piscean, long ago you learnt that often events or decisions that seem pivotal are actually the beginning of an ongoing, and dramatic, cycle of change. That`s the case now. While your instincts will probably tell you to go along with events, some may assume the decisions being made now are lasting. On the contrary, these changes will continue well into the new year.
Trivial pursuits and being with petty people won
t suit your mood so try to arrange your schedule accordingly. If youre planning to be on the move or to spring a surprise visit on a relative who lives some distance away, double check travel details and the fact the person you`re hoping to see is spending Christmas at home. If you have no plans to travel, time spent alone will lead to some worthwhile creative accomplishments.
Cosmic conditions are set to alter considerably: Monday
s Winter solstice coincides both with the First Quarter Moon in one of the Cardinal signs, and with the super-rare alignment of Jupiter and Saturn in neighbouring Aquarius. No-one on the planet has lived through this particular conjunction before. This is part of a long long cycle and should kickstart many fresh ideas. Of course, these will take time to incubate: at minimum a decade. This will doubtless require you to consider carefully allegiances and indeed, what it is that you really value. Note that the lunar nodes are still crossing the backbone of your solar chart. If you havent already considered moving, then this may be something that moves higher up your agenda in the coming months. News reaching you should make clear that others are altering their direction dramatically, and lead you to wonder what is truly best for you in 2021. Note that in mid-May Jupiter will arrive in your sign. It
s then that its likely to be all systems go. Now is planning time.
