Light A Candle Today!

In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme’s Magickal Properties

Parsley is bound to Mercury and air. In ancient times, it was associated with death and funeral ceremonies. Today, magically speaking, Parsley is associated with lust, good luck, communicating with other planes, protection, purification, fertility, reincarnation, health, strength, vitality, divination, passion, meditation, rituals for the dead, and happiness.

Sage is often used in witch spells to cleanse the area of unwanted energies. When burned, the sage creates a thick, grayish smoke. Sage…this is the old. stand by. Many people use sage in witch magic for smudging and cleansing space.

Rosemary : Like white candles, rosemary can be substituted for any herb in spells. Attracts Elves, Dispels thieves, drives out unwanted entities and energies. Faithfulness, Create a wreath out of rosemary and hang it on your door to keep your lover faithful.

Thyme is a powerful and popular herb for magical practice. It offers protection, but more notably is well-known for its power to grant courage. Warriors of old would stuff thyme in the shoes or wear it as a badge of honor.

Llewellyn’s Spell-A-Day

Saint Lucy’s Day (and Night)
By Barbara Ardinger

Lucina was an early Italian goddess of light who became an aspect of Juno or Diana. Saint Lucy was a fourth-century Sicilian girl who consecrated her virginity to God and was martyred. Vikings liked the stories they heard about Lucy while they were conquering Sicily and northern Italy and took them home. Before the calendar was reformed, Lucy’s feast day was the longest night of the year. People lit Lucy candles and Lucy fires, which guided the sun back to the sky, and children wrote the word Lussi on fences, walls, and doors to inform the demons of winter and darkness that their reign was ended.

Do your own Lucy’s Night ritual with your circle by safely lighting many candles and shining the light into all possible dark corners, real and imagined. Laugh and play and recite this silly rhyme:

Lucy, Lucy, shining bright,
Banish all the shadows of the night.
Elixir of Light
By Susan Pesznecker

To make this elixir, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries, washed and finely ground
  • 1 quart-size Mason jar
  • Shaved peel of an orange
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Vodka

Add the cranberries to the Mason jar and top with the shaved orange peel and sugar. Fill the jar with vodka, adding it slowly and topping it off over the next few hours as the liquid sifts through the fruit and sugar mixture. Cap, shake, and set aside.

Allow the elixir to age—gathering strength—on the countertop for six weeks, shaking it daily. It should mostly stay out of direct light, but if possible, allow it to charge in both moonlight and full sun for a few hours.

After four to six weeks, strain and serve. Sip the brilliant red cordial as you repeat:

Berries bright as little suns,
Jewels sweet in winter’s eye,
Fill me now with quiet strength,
Sharp against the dark of night.

Feel the cordial filling you with warmth, vigor, and energy!
Deep Sleep
By Tess Whitehurst

Winter’s long, dark nights can support our sleep, which benefits every aspect of our mental and physical health. Like flower bulbs beneath the cold winter soil, winter rest helps us replenish our energy before the more expansive months of spring and summer.

To support deep and restful sleep, cleanse a black tourmaline in bright sunlight, sage smoke, or running water. At bedtime, hold it in your right hand and sense its calming, grounding vibrations moving through your entire physical body, all the way to your toes, your fingers, and the crown of your head. Feel your muscles release and notice that you are safely cocooned in the crystal’s protective energy.

Continue to hold the crystal in your hand (or otherwise close to your body) as you sleep, tonight and any other night that you’d like to support your sleep. During the day, set the crystal on a bright windowsill to cleanse and recharge it in the sun.
Peace Be With You
By Charlie Rainbow Wolf

The holidays are so stressful for some folks. Maybe there’s a lot to do and not enough time to do it. Perhaps you’re alone, or maybe you’ve got a large and argumentative family. Whatever the situation, this spell will help you keep your cool and find a way to stay peaceful and centered. You’ll need a pen and some unlined paper, a candle in a holder, and something to light it with.

Write down the names of the people who stress you out—or, if it’s a situation and not a person, write that down. Draw a circle around what you wrote, and place it under the candle. Light the candle, and as you do so, say:

Peace around me,
Peace before me,
Peace between me and thee,
So mote it be.

If you can let the candle burn down on its own safely, do that. If not, pinch it out.
Snow Writing
By Charlynn Walls

Do you need a creative boost? This is a great time to harness the energy of the season. The weather has usually turned cold by now, and snow is often in abundance.

If you are able to stand or sit outside, do so. See if you can differentiate between the individual flakes of snow. Each one is unique and has its own structure. Find a spot that has been previously undisturbed. If there isn’t one or if you don’t have any snow, you can shave some ice to achieve the same effect.

What kind of creative boost do you need? Write it in the snow and say:

Ideas come to me so that I can
manifest them into being.

Leave the message in the snow and let it slowly dissipate.
A Holiday Spending Spell
By James Kambos

Here’s a spell to help keep your holiday spending under control. You’ll need a dollar bill, a cinnamon stick, and some gray ribbon or yarn. You’ll also need about two days for this spell to begin working.

First, select a night and hide the dollar bill outside your front door. The next morning, bring it in and wrap it around the cinnamon stick. Secure the dollar to the cinnamon stick by tying it into place using the ribbon or yarn; tie it in a knot. Next—this is important—don’t spend any money today. Visualize your money growing. See yourself spending just what you need for gifts. Place the dollar, still tied to the cinnamon stick, in your pocket or purse. Carry it with you as you shop for gifts. If you get the urge to overspend, touch the dollar until the feeling passes. This will keep you from splurging.
Human Rights Protection Spell
By Devin Hunter

Today is Human Rights Day, the anniversary of the release of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which contains thirty articles and outlines the basic rights granted to every person regardless of their origin or economic status. These rights are threatened every day and deserve our protection. This isn’t always easy to do when you don’t know how to help. Cast this spell to lend strength to those working to free themselves from these abuses.

Take a black candle and hold it in your hands, then say:

There may not be much that
I can do, but with this candle
I lend my light to you.
You are not forgotten, you are not lost,
you shall be protected at all costs!
Your rights have been violated,
and that is not okay, I summon
the angels to drive evil away!

Light the candle in a holder and place it near a window until it burns out. Donate to a human rights organization.

Heartwings Love Notes 961: A Cherished Toy Remembered

Heartwings says, “Toys that last are often the most treasured.”

When I was a young child, my very most favorite toy was my teddy bear. He had arms and legs that moved freely up and down and fur-like outsides. His glass eyes were not sewn on, but were stuck in on long pins. His paws had a velvet covering, and his nose and mouth were embroidered in black thread. His “fur” was a light grey. Over time some of it rubbed away. I took him with me everywhere I was allowed to, and I always slept with him at night. Mysteriously he was usually on the floor by morning, something I never could understand until later on, when I was told that I was a restless sleeper.

One of our dogs chewed on his left ear, making it raggedy, so I added a blue beret I had in my doll clothes collection to cover it. When I was in the first grade, one day I took him to school. When the beret covering his ear slipped away, classmates made fun of him. I never did that again. When I was in the second grade, my parents went south with me and we lived down there for several months, while my father performed an assignment for his business. My school work continued, and my mother taught me every day.

While we were living there, we took a trip to an extensive garden in the Everglades. My legs grew tired, and I sat to rest on a bench with my teddy. As we were driving home, I suddenly realized he wasn’t with me. My heart sank. I begged my parents to turn around and go back. My pleas were to no avail. I never saw my teddy again. In today’s world most children have more say and their wants are given more attention. The majority of parents today would have made a strong effort to retrieve the cherished toy. Things have changed in the past eighty years, and certainly for the better in that respect.

Some years ago, a kind friend made me a lovely grey teddy. Dressed in a turquoise hat and cape he sits on my bed where I enjoy his presence each day, though he does not share my covers at night. My original teddy is enshrined still in my memory, where I can still see him vividly in my mind’s eye. With his brown glass eyes and his worn yellowish grey fur, I envision him on a bench in the Everglades, perhaps talking with a bird or two. Or maybe he is not there any longer, but was found and treasured by another small child who gave him a good home and even took him to bed at night.

May you take pleasure even as a grownup in whatever toys might give you joy.

Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert

We Are All Connected
~Daily Om

Being aware of the connection between all things can help you in terms of the broader effect you may be creating.

There are times when we may feel disconnected from the world. Our actions can seem like they are of no major consequence, and we may feel like we exist in our own vacuum. Yet, the truth is that our simplest thought or action — the decisions we make each day, and how we see and relate to the world — can be incredibly significant and have a profound impact on the lives of those around us, as well as the world at large. The earth and everything on it is bound by an invisible connection between people, animals, plants, the air, the water, and the soil. Insignificant actions on your part, whether positive or negative, can have an impact on people and the environment that seem entirely separate from your personal realm of existence. Staying conscious of the interconnection between all things can help you think of your choices and your life in terms of the broader effect you may be creating.

Think of buying a wooden stool. The wood was once part of a tree which is part of a forest. A person was paid to fell the tree, another to cut the wood, and yet another to build the stool. Their income may have had a positive effect on their families, just as the loss of the tree may have had a negative impact on the forest or the animals that made that tree their home. An encouraging word to a young child about their special talent can influence this person to develop their gift so that one day their inventions can change the lives of millions. A poem written “merely” to express oneself can make a stranger reading it online from thousands of miles away feel less alone because there is someone else out there who feels exactly the way they do.

Staying conscious of your connection to all things can help you think of your choices in terms of their impact. We are powerful enough that what we do and say can reverberate through the lives of people we may never meet. Understanding that you are intimately connected with all things and understanding your power to affect our world can be the first step on the road to living more consciously.

This Marvelous Apothecary Store In Virginia Is Like Something Straight Out Of Harry Potter
by Beth

On the off chance that you aren’t familiar with the series, the world of Harry Potter involves wizards, wands, magic spells, and potions. Believe it or not, it’s not all that difficult to find some of these enchanting elements right here in Virginia. In fact, there’s an old fashioned Apothecary store in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia that could spellbind anyone. And what’s perhaps even more impressive is that this shop predates Harry Potter by a couple centuries. Here’s more on the marvelous apothecary store in Virginia that’s like something straight out of Harry Potter:

Tucked away in Old Town Alexandria you’ll find a charming museum that’s dedicated to herbs, spices, botanicals, and all sorts of glorious potions.

This historic building served as a Pharmacy and Apothecary from 1792 -1933. Some of its famous patrons included George and Martha Washington.

Today, the building acts as a museum dedicated to the history of the store. You’ll delight in some of the magical ingredients such as Unicorn Root, Dragon Blood, and Mandrake.

It’s all to easy to picture yourself in the world of Harry Potter, learning about the combinations of various ingredients. Of course, it’s this very botanical science that inspired J.K. Rowling’s world of potions and herbology.

The Stabler-Leadbeater Museum offers tours of the facility, where you can see old ledgers from the eighteenth century. The museum also welcomes Harry Potter enthusiasts with special tours and demonstrations throughout the year.

So whether you’re fascinated by the impressive history of the building or are feeling like wandering into the witches and wizard world of Harry Potter, you’ll be downright delighted by your experience at this authentic Apothecary.

10 Steps to Making Change Easier
~Daily Om

Change doesn’t have to be hard, here are 10 steps to help make it easier.

  1. Begin by making small changes or break up large-scale changes into more manageable increments. This can make you feel better about handling the changes you are about to make while making you more comfortable with change in general.
  2. Mentally link changes to established daily rituals. This can make changes like taking on a new habit, starting a new job, or adapting to a new home happen much more smoothly. For example, if you want to begin meditating at home, try weaving it into your morning routine.
  3. Going with the flow can help you accept change instead of resisting it. If you stay flexible, you will be able to ride out change without too much turbulence.
  4. When a change feels most stressful, relief can often be found in finding the good that it brings. An illness, a financial loss, or a broken relationship can seem like the end of the world, yet they also can be blessings in disguise.
  5. Remember that all change involves a degree of learning. If you find change particularly stressful, try to keep in mind that after this period of transformation has passed, you will be a wiser person for it.
  6. Remember that upheaval and confusion are often natural parts of change. While we can anticipate certain elements that a change might bring, it is impossible to know everything that will happen in advance. Be prepared for unexpected surprises, and the winds of change won’t easily knock you over.
  7. Don’t feel like you have to cope with changing circumstances or the stress of making a change on your own. Talk about what’s going on for you with a friend or write about it in a journal. Sharing your feelings can give you a sense of relief while helping you find the strength to carry on.
  8. Give yourself time to accept any changes that you face. And as change happens, recognize that you may need time to adjust to your new situation. Allow yourself a period of time to reconcile your feelings. This can make big changes feel less extreme.
  9. No matter how large or difficult a change is, you will eventually adapt to these new circumstances. Remember that regardless of how great the change, all the new that it brings will eventually weave itself into the right places in your life.
  10. If you’re trying to change a pattern of behavior or navigate your way through a life change, don’t assume that it has to be easy. Wanting to cry or being moody during a period of change is natural. Then again, don’t assume that making a change needs to be hard. Sometimes, changes are meant to be that easy.

5 Weird Kitten Behaviors Explained
Although they may seem strange, these five behaviors are quite common.

Susan Logan McCracken | Dec 7th 2020

They’re as funny as they are cute, and that’s why so many of us love kittens. It’s also why more than 2 million cat videos on YouTube were viewed more than 25 billion times, according to an article published on last updated in 2018. No doubt these past couple of years have seen those numbers continue to climb.

If you recently adopted a kitten, expect loads of fun, laughter and surprises in one bundle of adorableness. Here are five quirky but common kitten behaviors that may puzzle you or make you laugh out loud.

Why do kittens suck on cloth?
Kittens nurse on average for their first eight to 10 weeks of life. In their first 12 weeks, they learn valuable social skills from their moms and littermates. If they are separated from their feline family too soon, they might exhibit some insecurities. One such behavior is sucking on blankets, wool or some type of favorite cloth. This behavior provides comfort and is reminiscent of feeling safe with Mom while nursing.

If you notice the behavior excessively, this could also be a sign of stress, as the kitten tries to recreate those feelings of familiarity and comfort. What can you do?

Provide a safe room where your kitten can get adjusted to the new scents of your home when you first bring her home. Wait until she feels brave enough to venture out into other parts of your home before giving her full run of the house.

Draw your kitten out of her shell with toys and treats.
Because cats feel secure when they’re up high where they can observe their world from a safe vantage point, help your kitten feel secure by providing vertical spaces.

Why do kittens have wrestling matches?
Play is vital for cats and kittens. Playing with their littermates hones their hunting skills, which they need to catch prey in the wild. Their first playmates are their littermates. They chase, roughhouse and wrestle with each other, usually taking turns chasing and switching off top and bottom positions.

At times it may be difficult to distinguish whether they are playing or fighting for real. How can you tell? A real catfight:

Involves hissing and growling with claws out, ears pulled back and hair standing up.
Involves biting that breaks the skin.

Often has one cat consistently on the top or bottom.
Usually occurs among cats who don’t know each other.

Why do kittens needs to knead?
Kneading is another comfort behavior left over from nursing. Often called making biscuits because they look like they’re kneading bread dough, kittens engage in this behavior to stimulate milk flow from their mothers.

Adult cats:

Knead a soft surface before they lie down on it to sleep.
Knead to mark their territory, because they have scent glands in their paw pads.
Knead on your lap as the ultimate compliment — your cat is marking you as safe.

Why do kittens sleep or play in their litter boxes?
Cats are particular about their bathrooms and prefer a clean space. They instinctively bury their waste to keep predators and prey from picking up on their scent. When they see their moms using the litter box or if you place them in one, kittens catch on pretty quickly.

Kittens may like their litter boxes so much that they play or even sleep in them. It’s normal for kittens to spend extra time digging and even playing in their litter. Because the scent glands in their paw pads provide a recognizable smell, they may feel safe enough to fall asleep on their litter. Make sure:

The litter box is clean enough for them to engage in these normal kitten behaviors
Your kitten can get into and out of the box on her own. You may need to provide one with low sides.
Why do kittens bite and scratch hands?

It’s instinctive for kittens to bite and paw at anything that moves, including your fingers and toes. Although it may be cute, you don’t want this behavior to continue into adulthood. Always:

Redirect this behavior toward toys and away from fingers. Provide appropriate scratching surfaces to satisfy your kitten’s need to scratch.

A biting kitten also might be teething. Chew toys can provide relief. Just like teething rings for human toddlers, kitten teething toys that you can freeze are available to numb the pain.
When it comes to raising a well-behaved kitten, remember that whatever you reward — whether intentionally or unintentionally — gets repeated. Provide plenty of playtime to redirect any unwanted behaviors and safe spaces to help kitty feel secure.

The Christians and the Pagans
by Dar Williams
Released on: 1996-01-23

Amber called her uncle, said “We’re up here for the holiday,
Jane and I were having Solstice, now we need a place to stay.”
And her Christ-loving uncle watched his wife hang Mary on a tree,
He watched his son hang candy canes all made with red dye number three.
He told his niece, “It’s Christmas Eve, I know our life is not your style,”
She said, “Christmas is like Solstice, and we miss you and its been awhile,”

So the Christians and the Pagans sat together at the table,
Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able,
And just before the meal was served, hands were held and prayers were said,
Sending hope for peace on earth to all their gods and goddesses.

The food was great, the tree plugged in, the meal had gone without a hitch,
Till Timmy turned to Amber and said, “Is it true that you’re a witch?”
His mom jumped up and said, “The pies are burning,” and she hit the kitchen,
And it was Jane who spoke, she said, “It’s true, your cousin’s not a Christian,”
“But we love trees, we love the snow, the friends we have, the world we share,
And you find magic from your God, and we find magic everywhere.”

So the Christians and the Pagans sat together at the table,
Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able,
And where does magic come from? I think magic’s in the learning,
‘Cause now when Christians sit with Pagans only pumpkin pies are burning.

When Amber tried to do the dishes, her aunt said, “Really, no, don’t bother.”
Amber’s uncle saw how Amber looked like Tim and like her father.
He thought about his brother, how they hadn’t spoken in a year,
He thought he’d call him up and say, “It’s Christmas and your daughter’s here.”
He thought of fathers, sons and brothers, saw his own son tug his sleeve,
saying, “Can I be a Pagan?” Dad said, “We’ll discuss it when they leave.”

So the Christians and the Pagans sat together at the table,
Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able,
Lighting trees in darkness, learning new ways from the old,

Guarana Seed Benefits & Stimulating Hot Cocoa Recipe

In our modern western culture, caffeine makes our world go round. There is nothing quite like waking up to the gurgling aroma of coffee percolating in a machine while my mouth waters and my brain begs for that bitter taste to fully wake me up. One of my pleasures in working at Mountain Rose Herbs has been finding alternative ways of getting those caffeine boosts, including our organic black, organic white, and green teas, yaupon (the only North American plant to contain caffeine), and organic yerba mate. However, there is one plant that surpasses all of these in its stimulating abilities – guarana seed.

What is Guarana Seed?
Guarana Seed (Paullinia cupana) has one of the highest percentages of caffeine (also known as guaranine which is chemically identical to caffeine) content in a plant in the world. In fact, it contains more than twice as much caffeine as coffee does! Also known as “Nature’s Rocket Fuel” guarana hails from the Amazon Basin in South America, most prominently in Brazil.

This vining rainforest plant is in the soap berry family (Sapindacaeae) and shares family ties with plants such as horse chestnut and lychee. The Satare-Maure tribe in Brazil discovered and cultivated guarana. When the ripe fruit splits open, the dark, smooth guarana seeds inside resemble an eyeball, hence the Guarani name “fruit like the eyes of the people”.

Guarana seed extract is popular today as a food additive, often found in sweetened energy drinks, herbal teas, and carbonated soft drinks.

Guarana provides a clear energy boost, supports mental clarity, and because the caffeine is bound up in the fiber of the seed*, the stimulating constituent is slowly released in the body over time, so it doesn’t give us the “crash” that we get when drinking coffee.

How to Make a Drink with Guarana
Looking for a delicious and energy boosting drink for the colder weather? Here is a stimulating and warming hot cocoa recipe incorporating guarana seed and cacao!

Brazilian Hot Cocoa with Guarana

• 3 cups cold water
• 3 Tbsp. organic cacao nibs
• 10-12 organic whole guarana seeds
• 1 tsp. organic cinnamon chips or 1-2 organic cinnamon sticks
• Pinch of organic cayenne powder
• 1/2 cup organic half & half, whole milk, or milk alternative of your choice
• 1/2 tsp. organic vanilla extract
• Raw, local honey (to taste)

  1. In a pot, bring 3 cups of cold water, whole guarana seeds, cinnamon, and cacao nibs to a simmer.
  2. Gently decoct (simmer) for 30 minutes.
  3. Strain out herbs and return liquid to pot.
  4. Whisk in milk, vanilla extract, and cayenne powder.
  5. Add one spoonful of honey at a time and dissolve over very low heat until you reach desired sweetness.
  6. Stir until combined and serve in your favorite cup.

How to Make Guarana Capsules
If drinking guarana isn’t quite your thing, capsules are another great way to enjoy the benefits of this powerhouse plant. All you need is a capsule machine and empty vegan capsules, and organic guarana seed powder. Here is a step-by-step demonstration on how to make your own capsules!

  • The slow release effects of the caffeine are only achieved when ingesting the powder. Common ways to do this are in capsules, smoothies, or blending the powder in drinks or food. Infusions will not offer this additional “perk”.

Gilberto At the Falls

Gilberto and Maria hurried aboard the Maid of the Mist and put on their life vests as instructed. It was a chilly morning. On board they felt wind and flurries of rain. Gilberto had expected something more modern rather than what seemed an old reconditioned fishing boat. His life vest was uncomfortably tight making him feel bloated from his hearty breakfast.

He clung to the brass handle attached to the hard wooden seats at the front of the boat. While he groused to himself, Maria ran around the deck like an excited child’ snapping pictures on her device. To Gilberto she seemed so fragile. Sitting there that morning, he felt his age.

“Hold on folks,” a jovial Captain sounded through the loudspeaker.  We’re running into some momentary weather, a few squalls ahead. Not to worry, nor enough to turn back. Be sure your life vests are secure and enjoy your ride on the Maid.”

That was followed by a quick blast of thunder and sprays of drenching rain.

Gilberto lurched against the hard seat. He reached to take Maria’s hand. “Sit here now. Storm,” he said intently. “I don’t want you swept overboard.”

Maria grinned. “Exciting! Just like in those Girl Scout adventures I read as a kid. Isn’t it wonderful!”

“We’ll get all wet.” Gilberto shivered, wishing he were anywhere except where he was.

“Then we’ll go back to the hotel, take warm showers, change, have lunch, take a snuggly afternoon nap.” She knew that any suggestions of getting back into bed would appeal to his masculinity.

More claps of thunder followed by an odd creaking noise that didn’t sound like it was supposed to happen. A large light broke off the mast and crashed against the edge of the deck, falling into the Falls.

People gasped and clung to their seats, some making wild cries like some do on roller coaster rides.

“Kiss me,” Maria wrapped herself against his wet jacket. “It’s wonderful, we’re both sopped.”

His stomach lurched. He burped. She giggled. He held her close. He knew he didn’t want to be there. He feared upchucking his breakfast. His head pounded. Why was she putting him through this?

He huddled down into himself. His shoulders hunched. His face tightened and he grimaced. Maria’s face was ecstatic. She was obviously enjoying herself. He felt frightened for them both. Why was she so happy when he felt so miserable?

“You are so brave,” she whispered. “You care so much about us.”

He nodded, but he didn’t feel brave; he felt powerless and frustrated.

The squall passed. Sunshine beamed over the wild Falls. “Isn’t it wonderful?” Maria seemed to be acting as though she were at a
“Can’t you feel it?” she said softly. “I know now you’re
Upset but marriage is a compromise. Thank you so much for bringing me, for letting me experience the real thing.”
He nodded and huddled deeper into his wet jacket and life vest His feet were drenched. He wished he’d worn boots. “You like this?” He frowned. “You certainly have a lot of crazy adventure in you.”
“This excites me, and makes me hungry, too,” she said. “Let’s have something delicious for lunch, maybe their fresh seafood in a salad, and cherrystones or mussels for you.” She smiled.
He knew she was trying to make him feel better but at that moment food wasn’t the answer, regardless how delicious it might seem any other time. But he loved seeing her smile bloom like a beautiful sunflower.
He sighed. “Then back at the hotel getting dressed in dry clothes you’ll wear the red dress for me. Maybe just the red dress, nothing else. You won’t need anything else,” he sounded hopeful.”
She smiled again. “How could I turn down an offer like that?”
Close to an hour later, they hurried back to the hotel. Gilberto was shivering. They peeled off their wet clothes and got into the oversized hot steamy shower.
“Let me wash you,” she said surprising him. “Put your feet up on the edge of the tub one at a time.”
“Wash me?”
“She grinned. “That’s the idea. “
He noticed how much bigger she was, her stomach and her bosoms were now full, ripe. He wondered if they’d stay that way after the baby was born.
She soaped up a big bath sponge and began to wash him. The steam was thick. He sneezed. “I wash you too,” he said feeling romantic, entranced. What kind of a spell had she put him under?
They had a leisurely lunch. The buffet was incredible, everything from many kinds of smoked fish to fresh crispy greens and fruit.
Gilberto hesitated but ordered a hard cider. Maria demurred. “No last night was enough. I don’t want to push the river.”
“You don’t need booze,” he said. “I’m your booze. I keep you thirsty for me.”
That made her laugh. “And all the time I thought it was just the Falls,” she grinned. “Oh well, live and learn.”
“Sometimes when we talk Maria a part of me feels like I’m deconstructing, melting. It’s like I don’t feel like I have any say anymore. She nodded and sipped her bottled water. “I often feel that same way. Welcome to the club.”
“Sometimes it feels like you’re taking my power away from me. Is that what marriage will do to us?”
She shook her head. “Quite the opposite. “We’re getting to know one another in a real way, and working it out, getting past your bravado and my insistence. That way I pray we’ll last a lifetime.”
He tried to smile. “Bravado! I’m not pushing you. I just want to get my point across.” He tried to smile. He shook his head and suddenly felt desire surge throughout his body. ” Right now, you look so ripe.”
“I am very ripe! Especially for us right now. You can feel it, too can’t you? Our chemistry flows back and forth like fire.”
His body suddenly felt overwhelmed by arousal. He couldn’t stop himself from laughing. “Maria you’ve put me under a spell.”
`”Not me Gilberto. You can only blame my new red dress. You said it was magical, and it’s proving itself to be just that.”
He finished his hard cider and made a quiet burp. “Magical!” He smiled and wondered why whatever had been said had upset him. “You know Maria sometimes when we talk deep like this, I feel something is falling out of my head. It’s a weird feeling.” He sighed. “Some of the things we say feel important to me even if I forget what they are.”
She sipped her bottled water. “At least we can work them out together.”
He grinned and wanted to rush her back to their room. “Yes, just keep wearing that red dress. It’s working magic.”

The 2021 Annual Forecasts are available for pre-order. Annual Forecasts will be sent via e-mail on January 1st.

All Signs
All hail the changing of the guards. Jupiter moves from Capricorn into Aquarius; and after 2 1/2 years, Saturn moves from Capricorn into Aquarius as well. A double whammy! This is good news because this loosens that intense Capricorn vice-like energy that triggered much of the unusual and difficult situations of 2020. Read on to find out how this will affect your sign because it will bring a different set of opportunities and a different set of challenges for everyone. (We all know that the word “challenge” is the friendly euphemism for “bummer”.)

Aries (March 21-April 19)
For the last two years, it’s been a mixed bag. On the upside, it was your time of harvest when some of your cherished dreams came true. Your activities have brought increased respect for you from your peers; and this has been a time where you could see clearly what was working and what was not, which is empowering. However, it has also been a discouraging time because your energy has been low. Plus, it’s been difficult to deal with the government, parents, and authority figures. Life has been a trial. At times, your ambitions were thwarted. These obstacles are over now. You can relax.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Jupiter and Saturn change signs this week, which means they will begin to move across the top of your chart. Jupiter does this once every 12 years. Saturn does it once every 30 years. In a nutshell, it means you are coming into your own. People will admire you in the coming year because they see you as successful and to some extent, as having survived trial by fire. For many of you, it will be a time when cherished dreams come true. You will certainly earn the respect and admiration of others. Nevertheless, you will see some failures. Don’t stress yourself into trying to save something that isn’t worth saving. Cut your losses.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This shift of Jupiter and Saturn will likewise create a shift in your life. One of the changes will be a growing desire to travel in the coming year. Not only that, many of you will want to learn more. You might go back to school. You might take a course. As the wordsmith of the zodiac, you might take on a serious writing project – a manuscript, a book, a screenplay. (This is because your relationship with the publishing world will be blessed.) You might also develop a greater interest in medicine and the law. This year will definitely be easier for you because both Jupiter and Saturn are in your fellow Air Sign, which means life will flow more easily for you. Yay me!

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
In the last few years, relationships have been challenging. Some of you parted ways. (Of course, you stay in the wrong relationships too long, which means many of you hung in there.) However, it’s important to know that relationships that are meant to last will endure. Fortunately, relations with partners and close friends will be easier this year because a difficult stress has been removed. Furthermore, you will benefit from the wealth and resources of your partner or someone else and this enrichment will make your life easier. (Some of you might inherit.) In the bigger picture, you are learning to stand on your own two feet and be more independent.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
This year will be significant because both Saturn and Jupiter will oppose your sign. The last time Saturn did this was from 1991 to the beginning of 1994. Traditionally, it’s a testing time for relationships. Those that have outlived their usefulness will end; but those that are meant to last will endure. Your energy might be lower and you might feel tired, especially if your ambitions are thwarted by circumstances or other people. But lo! What news from yonder modem breaks? Lucky Jupiter is also opposite your sign and this is a positive influence! It makes you want to go after everything that you want. Believe that you have a chance for success in any endeavor that you tackle this year.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
In All signs above, I mentioned Jupiter and Saturn change signs. For Jupiter, it’s the first time in 12 years that it will return to this part of your chart and for Saturn, it’s the first time in 29 years. Basically, this change will affect your job how you do your work in your daily tasks, your overall health, and even your relationship with pets. When it comes to work, you will work very hard in the next two years – you’ll be busting your buns! However, now is the perfect time to improve your existing job. And if you can’t improve your existing job, you can get a better job! Factoid. Jupiter will give your health a boost; however, Saturn might increase problems with stiff joints.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Jupiter and Saturn change signs this week, which means many of you will have increased responsibilities in the next few years. Those of you who are involved in the arts and sports will work hard to perfect and hone your techniques. In fact, your creative expression will expand in many ways and you will have more opportunities to express your talents than you have had in over a decade! You will produce more work and you might make money at it. Romance will flourish! You will feel confident because you don’t feel the need to hold back or hide your talents. Great possibilities to grow in many directions! (Growth? Relax. You won’t have to let out another pleat in your shower curtain.)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
As two major planets change signs this week, you will start to feel a shift of things that affect home and family. Your desire to create a stable home base will grow. Because of this, many of you will move to something that is more reliable. Expect to tackle major home repairs. Fortunately, this is the best year in over a decade for you to improve where you live or to find a better home. In other words, you might buy something better or rent something better. In addition, your family relationships will improve this year. Family members will be more generous to each other and the general tone will be happier and more upbeat. You wanted more?

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
You are entering a two-year window where many of you will change residences, or jobs, or both. In the bigger picture, this is because since 2014-15, you have been on a journey of reinventing yourself. For the next two years, you will put the finishing touches on the “new you”, which is why you will be thrust into a new daily scene. This means your daily milieu will change, which forces you to see everything with new eyes. You will also communicate differently because you are thrust into a new situation. It’s an exciting period of learning! The good news is that you will be more optimistic in the coming year. Optimism is what you need.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
The shift of two major planets that is mentioned in All Signs above will affect your earning power and your overall assets and wealth. In one way, it will mean that you will work hard or even harder to earn money. The good news is that in the next year, you will get richer. Opportunities to earn more money will come your way or perhaps you will get a better paying job. Those of you who are not earning a wage per se will still get richer in an indirect manner, perhaps through your partner or through an inheritance. Meanwhile, be patient with family members at this time because increased activity, chaos and uncertainty on the home front will prevail for one more month.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Oh wow. Saturn is entering your sign for the first time since 1993; and Jupiter is entering your sign for the first time since 2009. This means you are setting off on a new journey that will redefine who you are in the next seven years. For some, this change will be so dramatic you will start to wear a different daily wardrobe as you enter this time of learning and gaining new experiences. Meanwhile, Jupiter will attract people and resources to you that will bring you advantages. Even the spiritual dimension of your life might expand. Jupiter will definitely bring you divine protection, which means this is a fortunate new cycle for you in personal terms. How nice.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
The changes that are brought about by the shift of these two major planets mentioned in All signs above will make you start to downsize and streamline your life. Many of you will be going through cupboards, lockers, storage areas, attics and garages to get rid of what you no longer need. It will feel good to get rid of this deadweight, which hopefully, someone else can actually use in a meaningful way. In turn, you will be lighter and have less to take care of! For different reasons, many of you will have an increased involvement with your spiritual side perhaps by finding a teacher or becoming a teacher to someone else. It’s going to be a big change and a beneficial one.

Weekly Horoscopes beginning Sunday, 13 December 2020

If you’re born within a cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you’re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You’re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.

Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don’t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.

Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Promising as recent arrangements seemed when you organised them, since then both circumstances and your own perspective have changed, far more than you’d have imagined possible. Tempting as it is to take control, for the moment, you’re better off allowing events to unfold at their own pace. Frustrating as that may be now, the ultimate outcome will be far better than you imagined possible.

Resist the urge to rake up mistakes and disagreements that should be left in the past. Let bygones remain that way. Urge a friend or relative who keeps mentioning issues that cause tension and animosity, to follow your easy-going example. You will all feel happier as a result. Avoid known gossips. A neighbour who recently tried to interest you in their secrets will have another go. Make it clear you would rather not know.

Absolutely fasten your seatbelt: the cosmos promises a thrilling ride into the end of the year. It all starts with the Solar Eclipse on Monday. This is in another of the Fire signs. As a ‘sophisticated New Moon’ it promises a fresh start. True, the immediate impact is likely to be on those born under the Mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces. Yet ripples should be felt by all signs. With Venus moving into Sagittarius too, your head could be turned by opportunities that are cross-border. Anticipate international connections. Yes, contact with those who live and work far away is not abnormal for December but this year it really is different. You may be far more interested in their commercial enterprises than you’ve been in the past. On top of that, in just a week’s time, at the winter solstice, Jupiter and Saturn align in Aquarius. The only real cosmic similarities are from the 13th century. So no, you haven’t lived through this before. Think of this week as being the overture. The band is about to start to play and new tunes will be delivered. Connections made this week could yet take your career off in exciting direction.

Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Being a clever earth sign, you’ll often have examined the promise and discovered the shortcomings of ideas before others have even started exploring them. Still, judging by the current powerful planetary activity, these matters are best tackled jointly, as a team. That may seem strange initially. Be patient. You’ll soon realise how much a lively exchange of ideas contributes to understanding what these actually offer.

It’s important to feel you can speak your mind. If someone is ignoring you, it may be necessary to push yourself to be a little more forceful than you would normally be. Just don’t confuse being forceful with losing your temper. You’ll get further and receive most respect by being polite but firm. Socialising with work colleagues could add some extra enjoyment to your days. You might be surprised by how much you and a workmate have in common.

Though Monday’s Solar Eclipse isn’t in your sign, don’t think for a moment that you won’t be affected. This ‘sophisticated New Moon’ is likely to have most impact on those born under the Mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces. What’s going on in a partner’s or close colleague’s life could have direct impact on your own and prompt you to think carefully about which direction you want your career to take in 2021. Note that next Monday, December 21, and coinciding with the winter solstice, Jupiter and Saturn align at the apex of your solar chart for the first and only time in your lifetime. This really is big news. Your career should now open up. Yes, this week you could be mentioned in dispatches and much discussed about what qualities you bring to a team. Partnership matters and equitable arrangements will no doubt be discussed. This could be anything from job sharing to investment and yes, and at a different level entirely, prompt thoughts of how you deal with joint financial matters generally.

Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20

Your horoscope for this week:

You’ve an amazing knack for understanding and spotting the potential in sudden or unsettling changes. Yet recent twists and turns seem overwhelming. It’s no surprise, with the Gemini eclipsed Full Moon on 30 December and, equally, Monday’s eclipsed New Moon triggering dramatic changes. The trick? Regard this as an adventure. Enjoy the wild ride, knowing decisions can wait until late December, if not the new year.

If you can’t please everyone, it would be best to just concentrate on pleasing yourself. Keep this in mind when you’re with a friend who is in a contrary and changeable frame of mind. Tell others what you intend to do and make it clear you aren’t going to alter your plans. This should stop someone from being awkward for the sake of it. Creative hobbies, music and reading will be pleasing ways to while away your off-duty hours.

Monday’s Solar Eclipse is in your opposite sign, Sagittarius. This ‘sophisticated New Moon’ promises much in terms of relationships and marks a turning point. The full promise of what could be achieved in 2021 will likely not be revealed until after the winter solstice next Monday. With Venus’ ingress (also in Sagittarius), you could be attracted to those who speak more than one language, or are involved in the law, or higher education. One way or another, developing new partnerships will be high on your agenda. Whilst at one level you might wonder if you have sufficient qualification for a role, it’s probable that one of the assets you would bring to a new working arrangement would be your diverse contacts. To some, you could appear as a breath of fresh air. It’s also possible that by mid week you’ll give thought to learning another language or acquiring a new skill. This may be something you can’t develop until perhaps the spring of next year but be intrigued and start discussions on options now.

Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22

Your horoscope for this week:

The eclipsed Full Moon, on 30 November, marked a powerful, and far-reaching, turning point. Understand that, and you’ll recognise this week’s events as being part of this cycle of ongoing, and timely, changes. Don’t rush. You’re still exploring your options, and are unlikely to be clear what or who comes first until the end of the month. Knowing that, regard anything you plan as an experiment.

Give text messages and e-mails that contain offers and suggestions for the months ahead some serious thought. Not all changes that are happening now will be planned or anticipated but they could lead to some interesting opportunities. This is not a time for wishful thinking. Be honest and recognise where your talents and energy will bring the best results. Family relationships are improving and home life will bring a bonus of extra happiness.

Though Monday’s Solar Eclipse isn’t in your sign, you should nevertheless anticipate that this ‘sophisticated New Moon’ will open a fresh chapter. True, you might not feel the full impact until after the winter solstice and the rare alignment of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius next Monday. This week should be viewed as the overture. If you didn’t think you had enough work on your plate before, expect to be overwhelmed by the weekend. True, this is in some way normal for this time of year. At the conclusion of this most peculiar year however, the energy is quite different. For a start, your ability to nurture, husband and yes, access resources will no doubt have been noted by others. They may want you on their team. There is also the high probability of forming an alliance with someone whose expertise is well recognised and who wants to run ideas by you. It’s not necessarily the case that they want you to dampen any enthusiasm, but that they need your take on both risk assessment and asset management.

Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Since early January of this year, you’ve faced relentless changes. Some were welcome, others less so. A few were dramatic but most so subtle you didn’t even think to battle them. So now that other changes are coming, pause and review how much you’ve benefited, what you’ve learnt and what’s next. The resulting insights are preparing you for pivotal decisions, now and over the coming year.

In business and in finance, be certain to look before you leap. Examine anything that is unfamiliar especially if it calls for you to part with your cash. Look at business arrangements from every angle including all the unlikely ones, before you make a move. You will be offered a chance to broaden your experience through study or travel. Again take your time to think such offers over especially if you’re concerned about restrictions currently in place in any of these areas.

The Sun is now moving through another of the Fire signs, Sagittarius, and on Monday there is a solar eclipse in that sign. The affected area of your solar chart is all to do with research and development and yes, affairs of the heart. Leaving aside romantic activity, it’s likely that at least on the work front, you’ll be contemplating developing an idea that may well have been dormant for as much as a decade. It could be that it’s time has come. Note that next Monday 21st, Jupiter and Saturn align in your opposite sign for the first time in your lifetime. This brings the promise of partnership at every level. A business opportunity awaits in 2021. For now, exploring ideas – most probably set aside because they were either ahead of their time and too creative, should boost your spirits. It might also be that there is a dormant apritude, legacy or inheritance that is ripe for exploration.

Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22

Your horoscope for this week:

When others are seeking advice, they come to you. Usually, they’re want guidance about specific problems but, often, they’ll be equally interested in your ideas regarding puzzling events. While, often, you’ve a clear explanation, during much of December even you will be confused. That’s because the foundation for many longstanding arrangements is itself shifting. The solution, for you and others? Wait, watch and learn.

You prefer to know where you stand. You like to have things planned down to the last detail. Changes occurring now will take you by surprise but at least most surprises will be good ones or they will lead to positive consequences. Someone who has been reluctant to reveal anything about a recent event or situation will suddenly decide to make you their confidante. Once the flood gates are open, it will be hard for you to get a word in edgewise.

Monday’s Solar Eclipse (a special New Moon) is in another of the Mutable signs and accents the base of your solar chart. Since a New Moon usually indicates a fresh start, this one could have extra importance. It would be reasonable to view this as a launch pad. True, things might not fully take off until at least after the Winter Solstice and the alignment of Jupiter and Saturn next Monday. This week promises an overture for all signs. For Virgo, the most obvious signs will be connected to your home base. It may be necessary to increase your working area (including kitchen!). Another possibility is review of your assets and what you need and what you don’t need for 2021. Amidst all this, and aware that so many others are now exploring new directions, your particular gift for organisation and preparation will surely be noticed. Anticipate being asked to advise on better ways of working. Your critical eye should come in most useful and even bring the promise of career opportunity.

Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Generally, you don’t think of yourself as a perfectionist. However, your observations of the way certain individuals have turned minor difficulties into major problems has been informative. You’ve realised how, often, people don’t stop to think about what’s wise or the impact of their decisions on those around them. While you’d rather not interfere, it’s becoming increasingly clear that it’s probably for the best.

A disagreement within or connected to your home and family life is not all bad even if at first it really upsets you. From such lively exchanges could come some good ideas you will want to follow up. These will be ideas you wouldn’t have come up with without having been prodded by other people’s views. There could be a visit from someone you never expected to see on your doorstep. This will delight you and make you slightly nervous at the same time.

Monday’s solar eclipse in Sagittarius is a special New Moon affecting all signs, but primarily those born under Sagittarius. A New Moon promises a fresh start. That’s rarely obvious at the event itself; taking time for ideas to develop. Yours is one of the Air signs and you play with Fire very well. It is probable that those born under Fire signs Aries, Leo or Sagittarius will seek you out. They may be ready to try out new plans and concepts but need your opinion. The effect on you will likely be considerable. Recall that next Monday, Jupiter and Saturn align for the first time in your lifetime in another of the Air signs, Aquarius. From gently fanning flames this week, you could whip up quite a storm next. It’s important though that you regulate: though not suggesting for a moment that you allow your lazy Libra sub personality to get the upper hand, it would be wise to moderate your reactions – especially towards the end of the week and, where possible, allow those born under the Earth signs of Taurus, Virgo Capricorn to provide anchor. The last thing you need presently, is to go ‘off on one’ before you’re ready.

Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21

Your horoscope for this week:

For ages you’ve been successful in battling changes as unwelcome as they are impractical, or so you once thought. However, recent events forced you to substantially reorganise one particular element of your life. While, initially, it was a struggle, gradually you began to recognise it as welcome if not timely breakthrough. So much, you’re now wondering what else would benefit from a similar rethink.

Hold on to a realistic and practical view of life. Deal immediately with what is happening around you where cash and work matters are concerned and do this in a sensible way. It might be a good move, too, to think about how you might increase your own financial security. Consider ways of making what money you have do more for you. A close friend or neighbour is on the brink of confiding a secret but they will need reassurance that their words will go no further.

Though Monday’s solar eclipse (a special kind of New Moon) isn’t in your sign, you could nevertheless be affected. It is likely that those born under the Mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces will be at least talking about moving in new direction and this could have profound effect on your outlook. In recent months you’ve perhaps got used to the unexpected. Even allowing for the impact of Covid 19, you’ve perhaps nevertheless been surprised by decisions taken by those you thought you knew so well. Adjusting to these and then coming to terms with new arrangements will take time. Hold the thought that next Monday, and for the first and only time in your lifetime, Jupiter and Saturn align at the very base of your solar chart. This really is the start of something big. Yes, it might require giving thinking more about where you live and work. At the simplest level, this might be about gaining new perspective (or even new windows). For others, talk of moving to new areas could dominate.

Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Every year there’s a Sagittarius New Moon, and it indicates both saying farewell to elements of the past and breakthroughs. However, because the current one, on Monday the 14th is an eclipse, which is about breakthroughs, you’ll also be recognising you’ve reached a turning point. This is a relief, as is increasingly clear. Next? At least consider every idea or offer that comes your way.

Follow up some daring ideas about possible new long-term plans and arrangements. You could be surprised by how feasible these happen to be. You and a workmate won’t always agree on methods and ideas yet working together won’t be as difficult as you expected. You will actually enjoy small disagreements as this gives you a chance to look at the job from different perspectives. It’s interesting to hear other people’s views and to think about them too.

Monday’s Solar Eclipse is in your sign. This very special New Moon signals the start of a new chapter. True, this will likely not get underway until after Jupiter and Saturn make their alignment next Monday. Even so, you could soon be aware that others are going out of their way to smooth your path. Of course it is not abnormal to have contacts with those you see rarely around this time of year. This time though it does appear extra special. There’s also the high probability of developments in a partner or colleague’s life that leaves you enthusiastic about 2021. You may remember that Mars has been moving through another of the Fire signs, Aries. It leaves that sign next month. Before it does, it could have significant impact on your desire to risk and speculate. Before you take that kind of action however, homework needs to be done. What you learn this week may be exciting, but require further research before you take action. Fact is though that your Fiery flames seem ready to be fanned.

Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Interesting and rewarding as the past year or so has been, you’ve also faced challenges. This week the planets positioned in Capricorn depart, and as they do, you begin a new cycle. While most changes will unfold gradually, some will take place suddenly, and be as exciting as they are unexpected. The secret? Be bold. Let go of the past; and explore absolutely everything that comes your way.

Be honest with yourself if you know you’re telling everyone you are happy when you aren’t. You might think that if you say it enough times, you will be. You’ve fallen into a rut and you’re making decisions about your life with habit in mind rather than a sense of adventure. Do something to spice up your life. Sample restaurants, cafes and shops you don’t normally go to. You have some interesting and challenging choices ahead of you now.

A Solar Eclipse is a special kind of New Moon. Though Monday’s isn’t in your sign, you could nevertheless be affected by it. This particular eclipse highlights an area of your chart associated with long-term objectives. It’s possible that you will soon have greater contact or key role to play within a large institution and yes, that would include both political associations and even hospitals. Recall that for more than a decade, Pluto has been making slow passage through your sign. Experiences gained – especially since 2013 – should now stand you in good stead ready for opportunities likely to appear in the New Year. This week it may be important to take the helm in a family matter (or even family business) and steer it not away from rocks, but on to better current. All this could happen while someone you’ve been working with for the last few months makes clear that they want to move on – yet hopes your paths will cross again.

Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18

Your horoscope for this week:

Although you’re intensely inquisitive about the world around you and others’ activities, reorganising your own life is another matter. However, with the planet of focus, Saturn, and fortunate Jupiter both moving into Aquarius soon, your focus will shift to making exciting changes in your own life. Some will have been on your mind for ages, but others will be as sudden as they are thrilling.

Because of the changes and challenges you have been through this year, you have occasionally suffered feelings of insecurity and a lack of confidence. You have a big decision to make and you’re aware of what other people expect you to do. You are now starting to realise you should be true to your own needs and wishes, no matter what others might think. You will achieve success much faster if you take pains to hide any misgivings you might feel.

Though Monday’s Solar Eclipse isn’t in your sign, you could nevertheless be affected by it. This special New Moon promises much. It seems to directly affect those born either under that sign or signs associated with it (in this instance, Gemini, Virgo, Sagitarius and Pisces). Colleagues born under those signs may be preparing to move in new direction. Your network will surely expand. This trend will likely accelerate from next week when Jupiter and Saturn align in your sign for the first time and only time in your lifetime. All eyes will soon be on you. Your role within a group is set to change. Taking time to appraise options, determine the direction the others appear to be taking, and then modifying your plans would likely be time well spent. The key to success is usually in preparation. What seems clear is that you’re now poised to make prominent mark in 2021 – which could yet prove one of your ‘years to remember’.

Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20

Your horoscope for this week:

The first of the current pair of unsettling eclipses was on 30 November, and with the second taking place Monday, the 14th, there’ll be lots to deal with and decide. Your instincts will reassure you even disruptive events are breakthroughs, if in disguise. Still, beware of getting so involved in the impact of the resulting dramas on others’ lives that you ignore the amazing opportunities coming your way.

Everyone expects you to go along with their suggestions even if you aren’t keen on them. Swimming against the tide could, for a change, work out in your favour. Some friends or workmates are behaving like sheep and misguided sheep at that. Even if it means disagreeing with the majority, make your own decision and stand by it. An old friend you haven’t seen or heard from in a long while will take you by surprise by getting in touch.

Monday’s Solar Eclipse is in another of the Mutable signs. This special New Moon in Sagittarius highlights the very apex of your solar chart. A New Moon offers a new beginning – timely in that it’s likely you are preparing for a fresh start in 2021. This could of course be brought about by changes in your local environment. It won’t be so surprising if you find others are moving on and that new neighbours or colleagues are moving in. You might also find you hear other languages and learn about expertise you never knew existed. So yes, these are potentially exciting times. Connections made before the weekend promise much – and should develop in the first few weeks of 2021. What might be helpful is to take time to create a wish or bucket list. Having clear aims and objectives is always helpful; but prior to next week’s amazing alignment of Jupiter and Saturn should prove extra useful.
