Light A Candle Today!

In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

BHC Newsletter Reta
November 9, 2020 – November 15, 2020.

The second week of November has more energy than a nuclear bomb. There are 6 aspects, a New Moon, a sign change, and a planetary station. Hang onto your hat, turbulence is incoming! On Monday, Venus in Libra forms an opposition to Mars in Aries. Oppositions are known for their tendency to create conflict, and with Venus and Mars, this is no exception. Relationship conflicts can be intensified. If you have repressed feelings, they could easily erupt now.

However, despite the tension, the makeup sex should be good if not great. Tuesday is an interesting day with Mercury moving out of Libra and into Scorpio. Mercury in Scorpio likes to dig deep, so we can use this energy to do research, investigate subjects we have an interest in, or solve long-standing problems. Since Mars goes direct on Friday, you will now be able to act and make changes to areas where you have felt blocked over the last two months.

This leads us to the weekend with Mars going direct on Friday, and the Sun forming an empowering aspect to Pluto. On Sunday morning, we have a new Moon in Scorpio but be forewarned, Venus forms a nasty square to Pluto and repressed relationship issues may easily surface.

Best Coventry candles to get you through the week are, Adam and Eve, Needed Change/Banishing, Love’s Enchantment

Here’s what you missed on this week…

Become present and feel the power in your words
The way you turn a phrase can turn your world topsy turvy or set it to rights. This is most notable in magic and intention work. Wishing for a good outcome is not even close to the same league as declaring your success at a specific date and time.

It’s Scorpio Season, be brave
Are you afraid of the dark? If so, turn on your nightlight because once again we are in Scorpio season, which governs everything that goes bump in the night and our focus is going to be on sex, death, and regeneration.

Biddy Tarot

Card of the Week: Knight of Cups – reversed

When the reversed Knight of Cups appears in a Tarot reading, a creative project is emerging, but you are not ready to act on it yet. You may spend most of your time dreaming up what is possible or how wonderful it will be when it comes to fruition.

While it can be enriching to be in the dreamy, ideas phase the plan will not come into being until you take action. You may need to ground your ideas into reality. Figure out how much it will cost, how much time it will take, what resources you will need, and so on. This will give your project more weight so you can move forward with implementing your idea.

Check-in with yourself and see how you are feeling. At times, the reversed Knight of Cups can show that you are sulky, moody, and jealous. You may feel frustrated that you don’t have the opportunity to dream and create. Don’t allow your emotions to get the better of you if you are not getting your way.

Ask the Tarot: How can I take action on my dreams?

November Astro Forecast
by Rubys Readings

I know this is a bit late but it’s been a wild week! I figured I would post the whole thing since much of the Astro Influences listed are still affecting us today and throughout November. ??

Nov 1st – Nov 30th

November is another fairly wild month once again on the Astrological front. With Mercury, Mars, and Neptune all turning direct from Retrograde, the energies will be a bit confusing. There will be a constant push and pull kind of feeling taking us over. And there is a partial Eclipse coming together, which means business.

Mercury turned direct from its Retrograde phase, which set the tone for November on the 4th.

Which just happens to be the same day as the US Election. This can cause major confusion! There will be delays and opposition when it comes to the results. Still, this exciting energy provided by the Universe is a confusing time as it already is! So this just adds another layer of mental fog and stress.

Also, tense Mars is still in Aries and Retrograde. Mars starts up its aggressive Squares to the ongoing Stellium in Capricorn, which will be stronger in early December. Luckily, both Mercury and Venus are in Libra, for the time being, promoting diplomacy and justice; this will hopefully bring some more positivity into the mix for the time being.

By Mid-November, the Cosmic vibes get deeper and intense. So life is extreme, and our lessons can be more transformative with intellect Mercury rolling back into the sign of Scorpio on November 10th. Our intuition is strong, and we can experience profound insights into our lives and problems. With Mercury in Scorpio, the truth comes out, as this influence tends to open up all that is hidden, kept secret, regressed, and forgotten. We are more focused and driven, so we should use this energy to our advantage. We will be discovering other folk’s motivations, and the deeper the problems are buried, the better, as searching for what’s wrong is mentally satisfying.

The New Moon on November 15th is actually in the sign of Scorpio as well. Jupiter will still be in Capricorn and will conjunct Saturn the same day. That’s big stuff! These two heavy-hitting planets meeting up can be extremely heavy feeling and burdensome, so that we can feel quite drained by this influence. We may not be able to see the future possibilities as easily, as we may be quite focused on the negative. There can be restrictions imposed on us, and supplies can be reduced, especially with COVID-19 being at an all-time high now! We may be forced once again to lockdown! As this transit means business. But we also can discover brilliant ways to start new projects and solve problems because, after all, this is a New Moon. New Moon’s are new beginnings front and center, always! This could mean we have to say goodbye to something or realize that a chapter of our life might be coming to an end so that we can move forward.

On the 21st, Venus enters the sign of Scorpio, and love and relationships can get intense. Our relationships can become emotionally unstable. This a time of profound emotional growth and wild and crazy intimacy! Venus, while in Scorpio, brings intensity to our connections with other people of all kinds. There’s a carnal desire to understand why we are in certain close relationships, especially ones that are intimate and to do with business. This influence could ultimately be the driving force that reads some relationships apart.

Then, on the 21st, the Sun enters sunny feeling Sagittarius. Our focus shifts to our outer experiences and our desires grow stronger to have an adventure! We want to reach out to the world and connect to something bigger than ourselves. We are searching for what’s better or more expanded and are seeking a deeper knowledge than before. We can have more energy, and our self-confidence can grow stronger during this time. It’s important, to tell the truth, or at least your truth, and be more straightforward, outgoing, and idealistic as our minds are more open. Trying to keep things fair and less judgmental is important. Our personality is large, and we may need open spaces to be free and explore, so we enjoy outdoor activities. This is a great time for exercise of any kind.

And at the end of November, the energies will gain intensity once again when a Lunar Eclipse comes together in the sign of Gemini. The Full Moon is a partial Eclipse penumbral, to be precise, so luckily, this means not as intense! This Eclipse can present us with an issue that has us looking in many different directions and leaves folks feeling confused. Which means they are unable to make wise decisions. With the Sun in Sagittarius, we must look at the big picture and make sure our goals are aligned with our longer-term plans to head in the right direction to meet success.

Have a good November, and many blessings.

Stay Safe & Be Well

Old World Witchcraft

November 10th, 2020: Mercury enters Scorpio, and we are all thrown into extreme focus surrounding work and society. Secrets will be exposed, often rather shockingly. Conspiracy theories frequently multiply under this transit, but thanks to Mercury’s inquisitive (and intellectual!) influences, the scandals will be quickly debunked. A good day to uncover the truth using the Oracle Ritual Blend – divination instructions halfway down the product page.

November 12-13, 2020: Today is an excellent day to draw a line in the sand between you and the people who are toxic to you. With Mercury in Scorpio, Venus soon transitioning to Scorpio, and the Dark Moon approaching, use this time to set boundaries! Whether you are ending relationships or are working to break the negativity that others have placed on you, take advantage of this powerful time. If an abuser has been lurking around and you need to intervene, do so using the Vendetta Ritual. Put an end to the abuse, and don’t look back.

November 13th, 2020: Mars retrograde comes to an end in the productive sign of Aries. Think back to what professional challenges you have experienced since the first week of September. What projects have stalled? What business opportunities, associations, or sales contracts fell through? Expect many of those exact problems to be resolved in the coming weeks. Bit by bit, pieces of the broken puzzle will be placed back together. Those who have been feeling lethargic since September will now get a healthy boost of energy. Motivation will also continue increasing, likely peaking on the Quarter Moon of November 21st.

November 14th, 2020 9:07 pm PST / November 15th, 2020 5:07 am UTC: As the Moon disappears from the autumn night sky, we experience the Dark Moon. The Dark Moon in Scorpio restores the mysteries of life that intrigue us. It invites us to delve a little deeper. A little darker. A little more raw and real. Expect the next 48 hours to be highly emotional and quite confrontational. Remember to react to unpleasant, unmotivated, and/or ungrateful people with civility. Keep interaction to a minimum and simply close the door behind you. Focus on your own personal growth and wellbeing. This Dark Moon will be exceptionally powerful for divination work, as well as all forms of banishing. Allow the darkness of the Dark Moon to reveal your inner blockages and banish all that no longer serves you.

Please note, the Dark Moon is never a good time to begin a new venture. Wait for the Witch’s New Moon, which is the night you can see the very first sliver of Moon.

November 15th, 2020: The morning after the Dark Moon, I like to perform a Spiritual Protection Ritual to help guard me against other people’s negativity and otherwordly attachments. As a Sensitive, I must always be aware of my surroundings and the various energies that encircle my mundane activities.

November 16th-17th, 2020: Witch’s New Moon. Depending on where you are in the world, the Witch’s New Moon falls in the early morning hours of November 16th or 17th. As soon as you see the very first sliver of Moon, know that is the Witch’s New Moon is upon you. That will be the ideal time for beginning new ventures, planting new seeds of manifestation, and drawing new love into your life. If you experienced miscommunications or crossed signals with a love interest in the last couple of months, this will be a good time for the Contact Me at Once Ritual. If needing to heal your heart chakra or wanting to welcome new (unknown) love into your life, this is the opportune time to begin the Bloom Into Love Ritual.

Heartwings Love Notes 956 Birthday Presence

Heartwings says, “The presence of birthdays makes an occasion for presents.”

My family and friends just helped me celebrate my 85th birthday on Zoom. Until lately, I have not been open about my chronological age, preferring to say “I’m ageless,” because in many ways, that’s how I feel. However, on this birthday I decided to reveal myself to the world as my actual age because I am proud to have reached it, and to be as youthful as I look, feel and am. My goal in life has for a very long time been to present myself as a good example. My mother used to say, “you ought to be proud to tell people your age,” and now I can say that I am.

Because I didn’t wish to be the occasion for anyone becoming ill, I decided against an in-person gathering, and instead explored the potential for an on-line party using zoom. Together with my kind eldest daughter and granddaughter, I was able to set up a party and sent out invitations. I tried to include everyone I thought I would enjoy seeing and would enjoy being present. Though I hope not to have forgotten anyone, I’m sure I might have. If so, I do apologize. Please forgive me. Those that were able to come told me they were happy to be there, and their presence was a gift I enjoyed very much receiving.

I have also received some lovely presents. Among them an Amazon gift card, a check for a substantial amount, flowers and a beautiful set of books from my beloved husband. Above and beyond the physical presents, I am enormously grateful for the shared stories people contributed at the party. Their memories of days gone by, the ways that people said I had been helpful, and the entertaining tales of times together all warmed my heart and made me smile as well as at times, laugh heartily. Then there were the sweet cards people sent, both on the internet and in the mail. I only found time to sit down and open them today! They were beautiful and thoughtful. As well, they added to the pleasure I gained from my birthday.

The joy of seeing the dear faces of my family members and of so many friends has warmed my heart and made me feel very glad. In addition, their kind words have made me enormously grateful. It is a wonderful experience to have been given so much affirmation that I have succeeded in what I have tried, and hope to continue to do with my life. For as long as I live, it is my intention to shine as much light as I can both for me and for others to see by. May it be so.

May you receive lovely present hen life presents you with a birthday.

Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert

PS What is your favorite or best birthday present you have received? How do you feel about your age? I’ love to hear about how you feel and what your experiences are. Write me at tashahal@gmail or more love notes please visit my web site at

Llewellyn’s Spell-A-Day

Cleansing Citrus

This spell can be performed once as needed, or repeat it each morning for a week to intensify the effects. You’ll need the juice of a fresh lemon, preferably organic, and a glass of water (cold or hot, your choice). Stir the two together as you say:

Lemon, as I start my day,
Increase my health,
Keep harm at bay.
Cleanse my body, mind, and soul,
And let no evil take its toll.

Enjoy your lemon water, and feel the cleansing, protective energy infuse your entire body and aura, lending a brightness and clarity to your mind and mood and dissolving any harmful or unneeded energy.
All Souls’ Day Blessing

Pagans seem to think that the word soul is the private property of the standard-brand religions. For a thousand years, however, soul, which is not a Latin word and comes from the Teutonic sáwl and the Gothic saiwala, has meant “the principle of life in humans or animals.” Linguists tell us that in English the most basic words are the Anglo-Saxon ones; soul is thus an idea basic to our knowledge of ourselves.

Although All Souls’ Day was created to bring the dead through Purgatory, that’s not one of our articles of faith. Let us instead pray for and bless all the dead people we see on the news so that they may rest awhile and then be reborn into brighter, safer new lives:

Rest now, and sleep in peace,
Forget the terror, bombs, and wars.
When you wake in that
unknown other place,
Release old lessons, set out
for morning stars.
Make It Rain, Make It Right

This is a spell to help correct an error, whether political, personal, or global.
Gather these items:

  • 2 candles (one black, one white) with holders
  • Olive oil
  • A cauldron (or heatproof bowl)
  • A wand
  • A representation of the problem (a photograph, drawing, etc.)

Anoint both candles from each end to the middle with the oil. On a table, place the black candle to the left and the white one to the right, with the cauldron between them and the wand in front of the cauldron so its handle faces away from you, the tip pointing toward you. Place the representation of the problem between the wand and you. Light the candles, building a strong visualization of your goal. Pick up the wand and slowly, with intensity, turn it forward so the tip points to the cauldron, and say:

Out of balance, chaos reigned;
shifting now to corrected course.
Reversing harm, the error wanes;
restored and mended, by magical force.

Extinguish the candles and burn the representation in the cauldron.
Find Your Courage

We’d all like to believe that life is going to be easy. If that were the case, it would be called “perfection,” not “life”! There are always going to be upsets—but you can’t focus on the negativity. Finding your strength and integrity when things go wrong is how you grow your soul. For this spell, you’ll need some tobacco, a piece of red cotton or wool cloth, and a length of red cotton or wool yarn or string. Use natural fibers, not synthetic.

Wrap the tobacco up in the cloth, then tie it shut with the yarn. Put this in your pocket, carry it in your purse, or even put it in an amulet pouch and wear it as a talisman. It will help you find the courage to face your challenges in a strong and positive manner, and remind you that there’s nothing you and your divinity can’t handle.
Four Thieves Vinegar

The legend of four thieves vinegar tells of four thieves who each contributed to a vinegar mixture, drank it together, and survived a local plague. Your own four thieves vinegar will be useful for all kinds of spellwork.

You’ll need:

  • 4 of your favorite fragrant or fiery herbs or spices (such as allspice, cayenne, cinnamon, dried peppers, peppercorns, rosemary, sage, tarragon, etc.)
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 pint-size Mason jar
  • 5 garlic cloves

Crush or break the hard peppers and spices. Chop the herbs. Pour the vinegar into the Mason jar.
Slice each garlic clove in half and add to the jar. As you do this, intone:

Earth, air, fire, water, spirit.

Add your four chosen additions, then screw on the lid and shake. Store out of direct light, shaking once a day. In five days, it’s ready to use.

Use your vinegar to dress candles, add to potions, sprinkle in smudges, bless tools, or for almost any purpose. Sprinkle around the boundary of your home for protection.
World Day to Protect the Environment in War

So many of us care dearly about the wellness of our beloved Mother Earth, and so many of us deplore war in all forms and constantly wish for peace. But we don’t often talk about the grievous harm war does to our planet. Today is a day for both concerns: the United Nations named today the World Day to Protect the Environment in War. (Its technical but less catchy name is the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict.)

Today, light a blue or white candle for Eirene, the Greek goddess of peace. In addition to being the embodiment of peace, she has an earthy aspect, as she is often pictured with a cornucopia, ears of corn, or the baby Plutus (the divine child of the Eleusinian mysteries), indicating that with peace comes the ability to tend to the earth, and therefore prosperity for all. (Be sure to extinguish the candle.)
Ancestors Acknowledgment

This an ideal time to connect with ancestors and other loved ones who have crossed over. You can send messages to them and receive them too!

If there is someone specific you wish to connect with, write them a short note or letter on paper, addressing them directly. Before going to bed, fold the paper up, and set fire to it in your cauldron, along with a pleasing incense. Address that ancestor by name, saying:

__ , I greet you and send
you blessings from this realm
to yours. If it pleases you, send
return greetings in my dreams.

Pay careful attention to your dreams in the next three days to receive their answer.

Fighting Against Our Gifts

Continually fighting against your gifts may bring about a louder knock at your door that you won’t welcome.

As human beings we often have a tendency to fight against using our natural gifts. Many stories of success start with an individual who is ignoring the call of his or her inborn abilities. There are many possible reasons for this resistance, from fear that the calling will be too difficult to a disbelief in the very work one is being asked to do. We may feel too small, too distracted by other people’s ideas about what we should do, or too uninformed. Whatever the case, the resistance to actualizing ourselves has very concrete consequences, and many of us have been called out of hiding by an illness or a twist of fate that unequivocally dismantled our resistance. In other the words, the universe knocks, and if we don’t answer it knocks louder.

For example, if you are meant to be a psychic or a medium, and you aren’t using that gift, you may get headaches. If you are meant to be a healer and are trying to be a lawyer, you may have trouble getting or keeping a job. This doesn’t mean that you can’t still be a lawyer, but perhaps integrating your gifts into your work is what is calling you. On the other hand, you may simply feel an underlying anxiety that you are not on the right path, doing the right thing. Pay attention to this feeling, and ask for guidance from the universe, being open to all its communications, from subtle internal yearnings to powerful dreams. As you begin to risk opening the door to your natural gifts, your life situation may shift in a powerful way. However, you may find that small steps in the right direction, such as taking a class or setting aside one night a week to paint or write, is enough for now.

The first step on the journey to our calling in life is to listen to our internal voices and respond to the knocking universe at the door. As we do, the symptoms and anxieties that have haunted us will fade into the background, replaced by opportunities, both big and small, to open the door to what we are truly here to do.

Sunstone is used for protection, life force, and grounding. Sunstone is a great stone to use with “energy vampires”, or those who drain your energy from you. This includes parents, children, lovers, patients, bosses or anyone who is possessive, aggressive or overbearing. Sunstone breaks these bonds and allows light, separation and clarity from these energies. This stone clears and brightens both the entire Chakra and unbounds the Aura. Sunstone does great justice when placed on our power center or Solar Plexus Chakra. Sunstone is a great stone to relieve stress and overcome fear. This stone is so brilliant that it can bring optimism, happiness and joy to anyone! Use this stone to help bring awareness to your spiritual realm and encourage the priorities of life. This is one of my favorite stones for depression. A good stone to strengthen the psyche as it promotes cheerfulness, good humor and a benevolent temper.

Etiquette for Visiting Witches

So, you made some witchy friends and you’ve been invited over to their place. Great! (Although, visiting people? In this day of social distancing?)

Still, there’s a certain social etiquette to visiting people’s houses, especially when one of you (or both of you) are magical practitioners or pagans. Actually, these are pretty good rules to follow when visiting anyone that has a lot of spiritual energy or religious beliefs.

Etiquette for Visiting Witches. Here’s what to avoid when visiting a fellow practitioner’s home.

01 Don’t touch
There are obviously things you’ll need to touch. Door handles, floorboards, cups or plates given to you, couches, and so on. But walking up and messing with someone’s altar or workspace? No. Just no.

Truthfully, I don’t even like touching empowered things that I’ve been invited to touch that aren’t mine. I don’t like to touch items in stores because it’s weird. And I dislike the feeling of energy dredges that some items pick up when they aren’t cleansed regularly. (Although this is more of an issue in stores than it is in people’s homes.)

Energy transfer is one of the reasons that touching another practitioner’s stuff is a major no-no, but there are others. You don’t know the spells and rituals that item have been present for and it may be harmful for you to touch it. For example, I have several items in my home that could be dangerous or just not a good idea for anyone else other than myself to touch. Not even my brother, who lives with me and is a practitioner, himself should touch those items. And there are some of his items that I can’t touch.

You also have to consider respect. It’s disrespectful to move around someone’s altar or workspace. They probably had it set a certain way for a very certain reason and even if you put it back exactly where it was, there’s still a sense that something’s been messed with.

I’ve had to strip whole shrines then scrub and cleanse them because they were touched. And I once had to toss a complicated embroidered poppet spell I was in the middle of making because someone else touched it and messed up the spell’s associations. Just cleansing it wouldn’t work since it was completely ruined, so I disenchanted it and tossed it.

02 Don’t mess with their spirits, ghosts, familiars, servitors, deities, or entities. And that includes summoning yours.
Some houses have spirits and ghosts living in them. And the residents are okay with living beside them. And other people have spirits or entities around for their practice. Don’t mess with them. Just let them be. It may not be your jam, but going around and cleansing people’s homes of spirits just because you think they’re not good for them is just plain rude – and possibly dangerous if they’ve a connection or relationship with that spirit.

The obvious exception would be a place of harm. If you’re being attacked by a spirit while visiting someone’s home, obviously cast some defensive spells to ward them off – or offensive, if you need to. But also tell your host. Sometimes, they can just tell the spirit to knock it off and they will.

Summoning your own familiars, servitors, spirits, and so on is also asking for trouble. They might get caught in your host’s spells or fight with your host’s own spirits. I once had to stop two of my own servitors from tearing into a visitor’s familiar because they thought the familiar was invading. So be careful on summoning your own helpers.

03 Don’t go casting spells all willy-nilly.
This goes back to the energy thing from before, but there’s another reason. Some practitioners have spells to ward off magic cast by someone that isn’t them. There’s no reason to expect that doesn’t include yours. You might have your spell bounce back on you.

04 Take care when eating food or drink prepared by your host
There’s always a danger when visiting a fellow practitioner that you’ll be consuming enchanted food or drink. This isn’t always a negative thing. It could be to promote health or good cheer. If you don’t want to consume enchanted food, make sure you talk about that before hand. Many times food is enchanted during the preparation, so saying “I won’t eat this fancy pie you made because you enchanted it” will probably disappoint your host – or you, if you’re bringing it.

If you’re really concerned about this, ask. Sometimes just simply asking in a polite and friendly way can do wonders.

05 Host gifts
Host gifts are old fashioned and rather formal these days. They’re pretty good for magical practitioners though. The act of hospitality is an ancient one and rife with magical intentions and meanings. Bringing a little something, like food or a protection charm, can really bring a lot of great energy with you when you enter the home. Plus it can a lot of fun.

Depending on your host, there are a bunch of other things to consider. Communication is key with any relationship, so make sure you talk to your witchy friend about these things when you iron out the details. And have fun! It’s hard to find friends in this field nearby, so enjoy the friends you gain.

Ghost Hunting Theories
When You Think a Relative is Haunting You

Perhaps one of the most often asked questions about hauntings involves an individual believing they are being haunted by a relative. Sometimes they feel comforted, other times unsettled. Let’s take a look at this phenomena.

Often after losing a loved one, people feel a sense of their presence. The connections, those made on a spiritual plane, are still there.

So how do we as mortals deal with feeling something that isn’t in the physical? As we are not just physical beings but also spiritual energy, I would say that it would be odd if we didn’t sense this energy source. We already have the deep beliefs and faith involved in feeling God’s presence without actually seeing Him.

We mortals feel a separation from our loved one physically but it takes only a wee bit of insight to feel the spirit’s energy continues and remains connected.

In perspective, connections remain eternally, but while we are mortal, we don’t access that in a way that we can perceive until we convert to pure energy.

So, for the time being, we get out-of-the-blue thoughts of the deceased, dream about them, awake during the night and sense they are nearby, or start to experience haunting features in our home that make us wonder….

Here’s some issues and what they may or may not mean –

Your home suddenly seems “haunted” after a loved one passes.

Suddenly a home that seemed pleasant and easy to predict is making sounds, objects going missing, footsteps, or voices.

You have only a few options in interpreting this.

  1. You are now more alert and vigilant to changes in your environment than usual. These are things always there, but you are now noting them and attributing them to the deceased loved one.
  2. You are getting some visits from a spirit. In this case, it is also impossible to tell if it is the loved one or another spirit energy and timing is making you think it’s your loved one.
  3. You yourself in some way are creating bursts of energy that are taking on an almost poltergeist-like activity.

So, if we are following “odds” for you having a haunting from a loved one, if there is 33% chance it is a haunting, there is a greatly reduced chance it’s a relative and not just a random spirit with serendipitous timing.

What we look for in hauntings by a loved one is timing.

Most often, these occur from the moment to death until up to a couple weeks of the event. Past that point, unless there is a major disruption in your life or the arrival of a new member, such as a grandchild, it’s very rare to be visited again.

Here is how I see “heaven.” A photograph is a 2-dimensional facsimile of you. It contains only a brief view of your visual appearance in a moment in time, has no dimension, knowledge, cognizance, or signs of life.

One dimension past that we have our mortal selves. Only one dimensional jump and we have biology, language, intelligence, movement, and life.

To further this perspective, we are a biological facsimile of our soul which is in the next jump up on the dimensional scale.

If a photo could take on a 3D form and live a life, it could not nor would it want to go back to 2D world. It would truly understand what it had represented in 2-dimensional form and now it gets to think, breathe, eat, move around, make friends, and live a true life. It no longer relates to or feels connected to its past.

And so it would be for our loved ones. They are now a part of a universal energy that is on a different level.

The first time my father died and was brought back 4 minutes later he advised me about the beauty of the next world but also that it was REAL and this one is FAKE.

The 2D fellow would realize that same truth when he got to occupy the 3D version he was once a simple facsimile of.

We move on from this mortal state and become the source of which we were a biological facsimile.

Even further in this understanding, like we take pride in a photo that looks attractive or chapters a moment beautifully, our soul looks at our biological mortal self and pride whether it is good or bad. Designating such concepts is a human notion, but for a soul the fact that we go forth with free will and make choices in a dangerous mortal realm gives them pride and unconditional love and compassion.

In other words, we may be vain about our photographic facsimile, but soul is absolutely accepting of physical facsimile and all its bravery for taking on the human condition.

If a loved one came back briefly, it would be to reassure.

At the moment of my father’s death, before the hospital called to tell us, he was in my room pulling my big toe as I slept. I looked up to see his silhouette. This is something dad did when he came home from business trips to let me know his plane arrived. In his own way, father showed up to tell his teenaged daughter that he made his destination.

Signs are the way we appreciate the connection never ends: A bird on a windowsill that flies off when our loved one dies, a song they used to sing to us popping up on the radio as we drive to the funeral, or perhaps a persistent butterfly at our office window.

Take the signs and know that we are never disconnected, we are simply limited like the 2D photographic image and unable to perceive what “real world” is.

But, for our missing loved ones, they know. They finally get the universal connection and they are with us always.

It’s as simple as you acknowledging you know they are there, you appreciate it and they may move on. That simple statement can put to rest many haunting problems.

We only have to take a breath and think of them and we feel it.

Are Scented Candles Harmful To Health?
How Safe Are Scented Candles?
by Dr. Weil

Burning candles is a convenient, inexpensive way to add ambiance, calm and serenity to a home or office throughout the year. Their warm, soothing touch creates an inviting and comforting atmosphere. For everyday indoor use, you should opt for unscented candles.

Some researchers note that unscented candles create less soot than scented varieties – over time this soot can accumulate in lungs and cause respiratory problems.

Scented candles may also contribute to indoor pollution and chemical sensitivities. I suggest candles made of unscented beeswax. If an aroma to the room is desired, consider investing in a diffuser and using organic essential oils as a healthy alternative. All of these mentioned ideas are available online or at natural foods stores.

Bowing has the quality of consciously evoking spirit, and conveys a sense of reverence for the people involved.

Bowing is a universal gesture of respect and reverence. In many cultures, it is the predominant form of social greeting, and most religions incorporate it into their rituals of worship. In many cases, bowing signifies not only respect but also an acknowledgment of the shared divinity between the bower and the recipient. Bowing can also be a turning in toward our own divinity when we bow our heads in prayer, contemplation, or meditation. Bows range in form from a slight forward nod of the head to a full body prostration on the ground, and range in meaning from a simple greeting to a complete giving over of the self to the divine.

If you have ever bowed or been on the receiving end of a bow, you know that it is different from a handshake or a hug. Bowing has the quality of consciously evoking spirit and conveys a sense of reverence for the people involved. The word “Namaste,” which accompanies bowing in yoga, actually translates as “The divine spirit in me acknowledges the divine spirit in you.” When we greet one another with this kind of awareness, we can’t help but be more conscious that we are deeply connected to one another and to everyone, because this divine spirit resides in all of us.

There are simple bows and complicated bows, and subtle variations carry different meanings depending upon where you are, who you are, and a number of other factors. But we can all practice bowing by simply bringing our two hands together in prayer and pressing the thumb side of our hands lightly into our chests. Keeping a long spine, simply bend your head gently down so that you are looking at the tops of your fingers. Close your eyes and breathe consciously, paying homage to your spirit, the same spirit that resides within all of humanity.

Yes, You Can Train Your Cat
by Jackie Brown

It’s easy to teach your cat some basic behaviors that will make both your lives easier.

Train a cat you say? Whoever heard of such a thing? Believe it or not, cats can learn to do almost anything, and it’s not as hard as you might think.

“There’s a common misconception that cats can’t be trained,” says Hannah Shaw, aka the Kitten Lady, a kitten rescuer, humane educator and author of the book Tiny But Mighty. “I think it has a lot to do with both how little the general public understands cat behavior and how much we tend to compare cats to dogs.”

Hannah explains that in movies and other media, we often see dogs portrayed as intelligent helper animals, but cats are stereotypically shown as independent and aloof. “The truth is, cats are complex and intelligent animals, who are very much capable of learning new skills,” she says.

Training cats might sound hard, but cats are quick learners. “Learning theory applies to all animals,” says Terri A. Derr, DVM, founder of Veterinary Behavior Options, which services Minnesota’s Twin Cities metro area. “A behavior that gets rewarded gets repeated.”

Dr. Derr used to teach shelter cats a simple trick that helped catch the eye of potential adopters. “We started walking past the cage and dropping a small treat inside,” she says. “Once the cats expected the treat, we stopped by the cage but did nothing. Most cats would reach out with a paw looking for the treat, and they got it. Now we had cats reaching out to people passing by. Those cats got adopted faster, which was our goal all the time.”

It’s easy to teach your cat some basic behaviors that will make both your lives easier. Here’s how to train three basic skills:

SKILL #1: Go to your mat
Teaching your cat to go to a specific place and stay there on command is a great skill. You can move your cat away from another cat or dog, use the mat as a station for brushing or giving medication, and you can even send your cat to his mat if you want him to stay away from a visiting guest.

First, select a mat (this could be a small blanket, an old placemat or a pet traction training mat/platform) and put it somewhere up and out of the way like on top of a table or cat tree. Next, show your cat a yummy treat and place it onto the mat. When your cat hops on the mat to get the treat, reward again. Once your cat is going to his mat reliably, add a verbal cue like “Go to your spot.” Then you can work on getting him to stay there.

“Say ‘go to your spot,’ reinforce him when he gets there, then start counting,” says Lisa Radosta, DVM, and a board-certified veterinary behaviorist with Florida Veterinary Behavior Service in West Palm Beach. “Every two seconds, give another tiny treat. Slowly increase the amount of time in between food rewards so your kitty is staying longer and longer. Choose a word like ‘Stay,’ and start saying it at the beginning of the sequence.”

Finally, add a release phrase like “OK” or “All done” that lets your cat know he’s free to leave the mat. After you say that word, don’t give any more treats.

SKILL #2: Respond to Name
This is a handy skill that lets you find your cat in the house easily.

“Most pet parents have already trained their cats,” Dr. Radosta says. “Open the treat bag, kitty comes running. Get out the can opener, kitty comes running. You can really make your life easier by preceding that cue with ‘Kitty, come!’ and then get out the can opener. Those things will be linked together, then you can eventually drop the can opener.”

Dr. Derr offers an alternative method of teaching this skill: “Say your cat’s name then give him a treat. Step two feet away, say his name, give him a treat. Step four feet away, say his name and when he comes to you, give him the treat. Repeat, gradually moving farther away so he has to come farther to get the treat.”

If you say your cat’s name and he doesn’t come to you, it means you moved too far away too quickly. Come closer to your cat and keep saying his name and giving treats. Eventually, he will learn to associate his name with getting a tasty treat, so he should come running when you call.

SKILL #3: Get into the carrier
Many cats fear getting into the carrier. Dr. Radosta reminds us that it only takes one negative experience at the vet to instill a lifelong fear of both the carrier and the veterinary hospital.

“Your biggest defense is to make sure you go to a vet who is cat-friendly, either a cat-friendly practice or a Fear-Free certified vet,” she says. “If your cat is stressed, ask for a medication or supplement that will help your cat be comfortable and happy.”

You can help things go more smoothly by teaching your cat to associate the carrier with positive feelings.
“Make the carrier a more neutral or even enjoyable space by giving the cat access to it even when you are not taking her anywhere,” says Hannah, whose educational web series Catology can be viewed on “By leaving it open with a soft blanket inside, your cat may start to see it as a safe resting space rather than as a scary carrier.”

Dr. Radosta also suggests feeding your cat in the carrier and using Feliway and catnip in the carrier to help your cat create even more positive associations.

PRO TIP: Wear a harness
Teaching your cat to wear a harness can be a way to let her explore outside and get some exercise safely. Dr. Radosta reminds us that cats are experts at squirming out of a harness, so proper fit is vital. Don’t forget, even though a harnessed cat cannot run away, there is nothing to stop an off-leash dog from running up to your kitty. To keep things safe, keep harness adventures in a controlled environment.

Dr. Derr offers these step-by-step tips to training your cat to wear a harness. Remember, cats differ in how quickly they adjust to something new. Don’t rush it.

Put the harness on the cat while she is eating a treat, if possible. Take it off again.
Once she’s used to the harness going on and off while she’s eating a treat, leave it on for a while. Give a few treats randomly.

Next, attach a leash but let it drag on the ground. Give her some treats.
When she is comfortable with that, pick up the leash and follow her around while giving treats. Leave some slack in the leash.

Head outside to your backyard, giving treats, but don’t try to lead her. Let her go where she wants to go. If she wants to stand still, let her.

Do this as many times as it takes until she is comfortable with the harness and leash. Not all cats will accept a harness. If the harness overly stresses out your cat, a harness may not be for her.

PRO TIP: Never stop training
Training a cat isn’t hard, but if you want your cat to remain trained, practice the skills frequently.

“Behaviors that are not reinforced will be extinguished,” Dr. Radosta says. “If you stop reinforcing behaviors in any creature, but especially a cat, she will stop offering those behaviors. You won’t have to completely retrain the kitty, but you will have to refresh her memory.”

Stephen Halpert
Gilberto’s Elopement

Gilberto was at his workspace in his condo reading a lengthy health insurance form he had just downloaded from Atlas. He sighed and shook his head. “I’m not sure how to play this out,” he said to Maria. “Two places in these forms require our marriage data. If I just write something that isn’t true, I could get in trouble and even lose my job.”

She thought he looked helpless. “Best that doesn’t have to happen.” She smiled, kissed him.

“I could just leave those spaces blank and hope no one takes the time to read it thoroughly. But that’s a stretch. One section has to do with my tax deductions, the other listing you as my beneficiary.”

She sighed and looked thoughtful. “Best we get married then.”

His eyes brightened. “That would solve everything.”

“Maybe,” she smiled. “Assuming we could safely navigate matrimony. It’s not as easy as it seems.”

“Why so? It’s just a piece of paper, isn’t it?”

“Gilberto, people change once they make that commitment. Deep psychological feelings emerge. Over time married couples might act differently than they did before they married, until circumstances become so oppressive, they ultimately split.”

He winced. “The idea of ever losing you…”

She looked thoughtful. “I feel the same way. But I’ve seen that happen too many times. Something changes. People gain weight. They even start acting how their parents acted. It has to do with expectations, dear; with how they believe a husband or wife should behave. It starts with how their parents were together. The child within always remembers.”

He frowned. “Just from being married?”

“Plus there’s the whole financial holocaust: Weddings can be a big expensive deal that creates too much debt to even think about! I read that an average wedding can easily run thirty, forty thousand dollars. And that doesn’t include the honeymoon.”

         He gulped. “That much?”

“Oh yes,” she smiled. “Look at all the expenses. They add up.”

He shook his head”I never thought how much things like that can cost.”

“But it does; it’s an industry after all: the rental for the ceremony, the invitations, the dress for the bride and the presents for the bridesmaids, the flowers, the photographer, the caterer, the alcohol. And that’s just the beginning. Wedding expenses add up fast.”

She hugged him. “Let’s take a break. Now that she’d been pregnant for five months the baby bump in her tummy was noticeable. “Sit down,” he said. “I’ll make the coffee. You shouldn’t be on your feet?” Then he paused in mid sentence. “Is it ok even for you to drink coffee? Maybe caffeine isn’t good for the baby?”

“Why not?” She smiled. “Don’t be a fuss budget Gilberto. I practically  lived on coffee while I was pregnant with Joey.”

“How can I protect you Maria when you won’t let me?”

She went to him and hugged him. “Don’t protect me Gilberto. Love me lots; but I’m old enough to tie my shoes and cross the street.”

Now he looked confused. “I don’t know what to do. It’s like you and that patriarchy talk of yours….”

“Ok,” she smiled. “I’m willing to risk it if you are. Let’s just elope, no muss, no fuss.”

“You mean get a license and go find a Justice of the Peace?”

“That’s the way elopement works,” she grinned.

“But I want to take you on our honeymoon. That’s safe to do isn’t it? That won’t change anything?”

She grinned. The coffee started perking. She took put bread in the toaster and took strawberry jam and cheese from the fridge. “In which case let’s go to Niagara Falls. I’ve never been and always wanted to go there. It could be our vacation.”

“I’ve never been either,” he said. “And Joey could stay with Ramon and Rosa. He loves being over there, letting their little girl’s fuss over him.”

Later that afternoon they googled Niagara Falls. A vast glittering array welcomed them. After carefully searching they found what accommodations appeared to be perfect: Honeymoon Falls, low prices for everything from a private motel suite to the wedding ceremony.

Judging by the on-line comments Honeymoon Falls seemed to fit the bill. Gilberto made a reservation for a bridal special that included a small knotty pine cabin overlooking the continually thrashing falls. There was no kitchen unit, which annoyed Maria but did not bother Gilberto who preferred eating out whenever he was on the road.

“A two day midweek honeymoon.” Gilberto smiled. Maria seemed happy. He was glad she had accepted and wore the sparkly diamond engagement ring he had initially feared would arouse her protestations. The next few days were a flurry of pre nuptial arrangements: securing their license and all that went with it. Finally after dropping Joey off at Ramon’s they were on their way to Niagara Falls.

Rev. and Mrs. Homer Flood greeted them in their Honeymoon Falls office and after affirming their license and related paperwork led them across the parking lot to a small outbuilding which housed the wedding chapel. Mrs. Flood was top heavy with tired eyes and sallow cheeks. The Reverend was a short man with bushy eyebrows, a considerable paunch and a raspy voice.

Gilberto sensed Mrs. Flood didn’t approve of Maria. Maybe it was her slightly obvious pregnancy.

“Now stand here in our circle of matrimony,” Rev Flood said pointing to a small circle before a wooden altar. Above them a reproduction of a renaissance painting of what Gilberto thought were grumpy saints glared down upon the proceedings. Mrs. Flood lit a candle and turned on a tinny cassette recording of Mendelson’s Wedding March.

Once the music concluded Rev. Flood began to speak. “We are assembled here,” he began repeating a litany of familiar words. Several times his voice rose when “under God” was repeated. He looked sternly at Maria when he repeated “to love, honor, and obey.”

Gilberto glimpsed a flash of anger from Maria’s eyes. She tightened her lips. Gilberto quailed, fearing what she might say. To his relief, she remained silent. He squeezed her hand which was limp in his. Finally after more babbling rigmarole he pronounced them man and wife.

As soon as the Reverend fell silent, Maria spoke. “We won’t be staying,” she said. “Gilberto please just pay for the ceremony.”

They gathered their luggage and much to the consternation of the Floods loaded their car and drove away.

“We’ll find someplace to stay,” Maria said. “But not there, not anywhere near those people.”

“Do I get to kiss the bride,” Gilberto asked somewhat fearfully.

“Oh you get to do a lot more than that,” she grinned. “But first I need to get out of these clothes and take a shower.”

All Signs
This year Jupiter and Pluto line up three times and the final time is this week. The last time Jupiter and Pluto lined up in Capricorn (like this year) was in 1771 during the Russian plague and the American Revolution of 1765-1783. This conjunction in Capricorn will call attention to the growing need to reform economic imbalances and address the oppression by structures – of the government, the police, military, medical, legal or that of society. Speaking of structures, this includes the human skeleton as well, which has been in the closet for too long. I know this is not a jaw-dropping observation. (“You’ve got tibia kidding!”) Read on to learn how this conjunction affects your sign.

Aries (March 21-April 19)
This has been a tough year because extremely unusual planetary happenings have been going on at odds with your Sun in Aries. This has made life difficult. Mostly, this has affected your long-term goals, your standing in the community and your public reputation (both professionally and among your peers). You might have been forced to defend yourself or your public reputation or the respect that you deserve. Because Mars has been in your sign for the last six months of the year (this last occurred in 1988), it has been a mixed blessing. Initially, it pumped your energy; but since Sept., it has eroded your self-confidence. Fear not, later this month, you’ll be back in the saddle!

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
unusual planetary events in Capricorn have interrupted travel plans as well as plans for going to school, getting to school, taking courses and anything to do with training. Fortunately, these challenges have been softened because lucky Jupiter is still in that part of your chart, which means it will deliver the goods! Yes, you will travel – somewhere. Maybe not where you initially wanted to go? You will get schooling and further education, again, maybe not according to your first choice. this is because the challenges that transpired in Capricorn were also supportive to you because they took place in your fellow Earth Sign. You win some, you lose some.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This year, the triple conjunction of Pluto and Jupiter along with the Saturn, Pluto conjunction took place in one of your Money Houses. This called attention to your debt, and anything that you share jointly with partners or other people. For example, it would become apparent to you how important it is to get out of debt. Likewise, any issues related to inheritances, wills and shared property would be highlighted in a way that you would see how reforms need to be made or how they could have been handled better. For some of you, it’s too late. For others, this is a wake-up call. Again however, lucky Jupiter will attract some goodies your way!

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Four signs have had it tough this year and you are one of them. (Aries, Cancer, Libra and of course, Capricorn!) To put a finer point on it, those signs that were born mid-month (the 12th to the 15th) ) had it the hardest! You know who you are. For Cancers, all this unusual planetary activity took place, and is still taking place, directly opposite your sign, which means has impacted you the most with partnerships and close friendships. Many of you ended partnerships this year (or wanted to). In addition, your ambition to achieve your dreams was blowing hot and cold. This summer, you were ready to act. But recently, you have been spinning your wheels. This month that changes!

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
The triple conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto (plus the conjunctions of Saturn and Pluto) have been unusual, which is why 2020 is such a challenging year. For Leos, this activity has affected your pet, your job and your health. This means whatever needed to be fixed in these areas now came to a climax. You could no longer ignore what you might have been ignoring. This year you had to act. What has helped your sign is this unusual journey of Mars in Aries for six months (which last happened in 1988) because this has pumped you with energy and confidence! It has helped you achieve a lot in the last half of this year, despite the necessary reforms you face in your job and your health.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This year we are all reeling from the lineup of planets in Capricorn. For your sign, this points out where you need to make improvements or reforms to get a better handle of dealing with kids as well as anything to do with sports, the entertainment world and the hospitality industry. Many of you are being forced to see how you need to balance work and play in your life. Another area that has been impacted by these planetary configurations is romance. Romance might have been all over the map for you this year. Sublime and painful. The good news is that no matter what happened, it took place in your fellow Earth Sign, so for sure, some residual effects will benefit you. No question. (That’s something!)

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
You are one of the four signs that had it the toughest this year (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn). In particular, it is toughest for those born from the 12th to the 15th. The area that is most impacted has to do with your home and your family. Major changes that have been overdue (perhaps repairs), finally had to be addressed this year. Likewise, other changes that needed to be addressed could be related to relationships or your family dynamics. Naturally, these include your relations with parents and older family members. Furthermore, Mars opposite your sign for the last six months of the year, has been stressful for partnerships and close friendships. Yes, it’s Margarita time!

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Some of the greatest challenges that occurred this year affected your everyday routine and your everyday communications with others. You have been misunderstood. You have been angry. You have been determined to get to the bottom of something and seek out the truth. You have been thwarted. You have done battle. And for this, your reputation has been tarnished! Meanwhile, since Sept., when Mars went retrograde, your health has suffered along with your confidence in your work and your job. But this latter challenge (to your job, your health and your pets) will be over this month. Always remember how powerful you are and how to best use your power.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
The triple conjunction of Pluto and Jupiter taking place in your chart has impacted your earnings, your movable belongings and your assets. Many of you have lost earnings or lost your job. Many of you have lost your possessions. (It’s been a sobering year.) Fortunately, the six-month sojourn of Mars in Aries has boosted your energy. (Admittedly, it’s been wobbly since Sept. but that will be over in a few weeks.) The thing to remember is that of the three planets impacting your earnings, Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter – Jupiter represents wealth and expansion. This means your setbacks are temporary. In fact, your state of mind in 2021 will be unusually positive and optimistic!

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Of the four signs that have had the most difficulties this year (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) – you are the winner. Some of the events taking place in your sign have not occurred for hundreds of years. This is why your life has been turned upside down. These unusual planetary configurations will affect your body, your appearance, your closest relationships, the image that you present to your world, and in many ways, your virtual identity. One reason it has been difficult is you like a predictable outcome. You value your security and your plans for the future. Fortunately, you’re tough and you’re not a sissy. You know that hard times are character building. (I agree – you have enough character.)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This year has been full of challenges; but to a casual observer, it doesn’t look this way (for many of you). This is because the challenges that you face are “hidden”. They’re the challenges of the dark night of the soul. Many things have happened and are continuing to happen that make you re-think your values and what is important to hold on to, and what you should just let go. Remember: “Your first loss is your cheapest loss.” This is because by hanging on to do something to avoid the inevitable, we often end up paying a higher price. You have been very vocal and proactive because Mars is in your House of Communications for six months. When you want others to really listen – whisper.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Perhaps the biggest area where you have been impacted by the triple conjunction this year of Jupiter and Pluto, in addition to the conjunction of Saturn and Pluto, has been regarding friendships and your relationship to clubs, groups and organizations. Many of you have either suddenly left friendships or slowly drifted away and moved on. (It happens.) Likewise, you have left groups and clubs or joined new ones that embrace concepts that speak to you. In either case, your actions will affect your goals and how you translate your hopes and dreams for the future into your new reality. Heady stuff!

Weekly Horoscopes Beginning Sunday, 08 November 2020

If youre born within cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); youre advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You`re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.

Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don`t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.

Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Certain obstacles are forcing you to review ideas or plans youre eager to turn into a lasting arrangement. Judging by the current planetary setup, while the concept is worthwhile, there are several problems you need to spot and deal with now, before you proceed. Tempting as it is to plunge in, once you learn whats what, you`ll be grateful destiny forced you to rethink these.

A long talk with a close friend will reveal recent misunderstandings were due more to outside influences and other people than anything that has occurred between you. Future plans will soon become a reality because you`re determined to focus on your long-term goals. It will be fun to get out and about and do more things with your favourite people. Although it will be less grand than normal, attend an annual social event. It will be more fun than expected.

This could easily prove another rollercoaster week though, of course, you might enjoy the excitement! True, relationships could be stretched to near breaking point on Monday. On the other hand, you might decide to form the strongest ever union. Thats perhaps more likely. The differences between you and a significant other (business-wise) will likely be marked: but perhaps you need to playgood cop, bad cop. On Thursday, and for the last time in your lifetime Jupiter and Pluto align at the apex of your solar chart. View this as a springboard. You likely wont use it until after Mars stations in your sign at the weekend but getting ready to make your move, taking time to consider all options, and ensuring that a safety net is where others said it would be, is doubtless imperative. Though you might not have full clarity about the situation until closer to the end of the month, its clear that youre now poised and ready to move off in fresh career direction.

Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Although the Taurus Full Moon was on 31 October, it triggered a range of questions about existing arrangements and unexpected events. While they seemed a disruptive nuisance then, youre now recognising these forced you to question seemingly straightforward matters. As a result, youve learnt a lot and are rethinking seemingly solid plans. Take it slowly. Urgent as things seem, you`ve lots more yet to discover.

Your partner or another loved one has been feeling lost, lonely and neglected. If you really care for them and you can understand why they feel this way, the best token of your love is to spend more time together. Are you single? You might start a new romance only to have a feeling this relationship will be over before it has had a chance to begin. Right now, you have other priorities and responsibilities.

Your ruling planet, Venus, opposes Mars at the start of this week and for many people, this could coincide with relationship difficulties. Yet its as likely that when two people are pulling apart from one another, they create a workable tight-rope that has just the right tension to be workable. Given that by Thursday attention will be on your qualifications and announcing just how far youve come in recent years, it may be that you will need assistance in self-promoting. Ensuring that your CV is up-to-date and makes clear not just your qualifications but your experience and determination, might require input from someone with better objectivity. It`s very likely that along with many others, that between this coming weekend and the end of the month, that you will undertake a career journey requiring every ounce of concentration.

Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Usually you thrive on the excitement changes bring; but, then, youre superb at juggling surprises. However, youre confused about whats what. Thats as is should be now, in the run up to the life-changing Gemini eclipsed Full Moon on 30 November. With sudden insights and unexpected events shaking things up then, during the coming weeks you`re urged to focus on decluttering your diary, and your passions.

You love to communicate. There is plenty going on in your life that keeps you in touch with other people. When you arent meeting up in person, youre sending text messages to friends or meeting up on social networking sites. You have plenty to say but pause too to take in what people are telling you. Financial rewards and additional perks are heading your way as a well-earned reward for all your hard work over the past month or so.

Its very likely you will have a fight on your hands. Your wordsmith abilities will surely be put to the test. Theres also the question of asset management and indeed even insurance. Pitting your wits against the finest brains could of course be exciting. Much depends on whether or not youve been economical with the truth and whether or not youre about to be found out. In recent weeks, Mars has been retrograde. Its probable that youve been focused on where others have deficiencies or weak points. Now may be the time to review your own position. You might also need assistance (most likely from experts or those born under Capricorn) who have considerable experience and gravitas and have your back. What seems likely is that you will need to fight to hold position.

Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Its a challenge. Youre juggling amazing ideas or offers yet, also, facing tricky rules, regulations or difficult individuals; and, frustratingly, nobodys listening to reason. Tempted to plunge in and explain the facts? Dont. Instead, make it known youve lots interesting to say, but will wait until others indicate theyre ready. Mustering the necessary patience wont be easy; but once those discussions take place, youll be glad you did.

No matter what you decide to do, someone will have a complaint. You want to please everyone but youre starting to realise this is an impossibility. Although you shouldnt be too critical or negative, you can`t allow others to restrict your choices. A partner expects you to see their point of view.. They need to understand that you have your views too and you deserve their respect. Find a common ground. Compromise is essential in all relationships.

For the final time in your lifetime, Jupiter and Pluto align in your opposite sign. This will likely be a major event for the world. It comes just ahead of Marsdirect station at the apex of your solar chart; and yes, your career world could go off in yet another direction. Youve likely been poised for this for months. Yes, it could take a few weeks to gather full momentum, but it all starts this week. There is the possibility of business partnership or even job sharing. If that does occur, then you might need to take the lead at least initially. Greatest progress is likely to be made after next Sunday`s New Moon. This week is a time for forward-planning, preparing business models, improving your CV and preparing for the next stage of your career journey. In all this, advice and support from Libras, Scorpios and Capricorns should prove invaluable.

Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22

Your horoscope for this week:

For ages youve successfully battled unwelcome shakeups in elements of your domestic or working life. However, with both the recent Full Moon and the New Moon on Sunday 15 November not forcing you to take changes seriously, youll to spot their potential. As your misgivings vanish, youll recognise theyre timely breakthroughs, if in disguise. Say yes first, and think about the details later..

Tiredness makes you irritable and moody. A lack of sleep will have a negative effect on your productivity at work and on your closest relationships. You will find it hard to think before you speak and could say things you later regret. Headaches, joint pains and stomach upsets could all be related to worry about the future. In social, family and career matters, do your best to stay calm. Don`t allow yourself to get carried away by the intensity of your feelings.

In just a few weekstime Jupiter and Saturn aligning your opposite sign. Depending on your age, you may have some experience of their alignment in an area sign (1981). Fresh ideas are likely to blow thick and fast and some proof ultra-productive. If you felt stuck in me for weeks if not months, know that as Jupiter and Pluto make their final alignment in Capricorn midweek, that the cavalry could appear on the horizon. Before they can give full assistance, they need to know exactly where you are and how stuck you are. With Mars approaching its direct station in another of the fire signs, this week should prove optimal for assessing just how damaged you are and what help you really need. Yes, you likely need to flaunt your qualifications and experience better. It might also be wise to confer with someone you regard as an elder statesman: together you could come up with a master plan to launch after next weekends new moon.

Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Youre inquisitive, enough youre usually able to advise others whats wise. However, the current range of twists and turns, in both existing arrangements and the views of certain powerful individuals, leave you at a loss what approach to take. This, in turn, forces you to rethink certain increasingly questionable views. Once youre delving into the facts, youll realise youve some serious catching up to do.

There are a number of influential people you will be meeting up with, talking to and dealing with. Someone will be willing to step in and save a group project from going under. New guidelines will be put in place and if these are followed, all should work out well. Before getting into new social or financial activity, think about the consequences. You need to be able to make fresh starts without feeling any guilt or regret.

For the first half of this week, the Moon passes through your sign. Expect others to listen to what you have to say. They may be particularly interested in your thoughts about how to better manage resources. Then, and for the final time in your lifetime Jupiter and Pluto align in Capricorn. If there are research projects youve never quite got around to, now may be the time to act. Yes, its likely you might also have to deal with legacies or insurance matters and yes, these could be time-consuming. Nothing though, should stand in the way of you launching out with developing an idea that`s been incubating for the best part of a decade. Thirst for knowledge drives this week. Interestingly, this could also lead you back to the past. In some cultures, looking back to the past is used to see the future. You may find this a rewarding exercise.

Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Nobody is better at playing the diplomat, even in complex situations or with individuals whore usually difficult. Now, however, youre facing the added pressure of sticking to certain increasingly unpopular views, plans or demands. Forget about winning others over with persuasive details. That won`t work. Simply explain how everybody will benefit; and, also, say this means a lot to you. That should do the trick.

You cant expect a peaceful discussion if you accuse a housemate or relative of being unreasonable.. You are starting to understand why they feel as if theyre being taken for granted. A healthy dose of common sense makes you realise its time to get real and face up to your responsibilities. Youre starting to see an increase in invitations to parties, weddings and small social events. You need to be selective about which ones to accept.

For the final time in your lifetime, Jupiter and Pluto conjoin at the base of your solar chart. If you haven`t already had a major clear out, reconstructed and renovated, the desire to do so will surely be very very strong. Then, at the end of what promises to be a super busy week, Mars turns direct in your opposite sign. Those who seem to have been holding you back will likely determine that they now need to push you forward. These next seven days offer a last opportunity to tidy things up and get ready to explore your very considerable creative talents. As the Moon moves through your sign in the second half of the week, anticipate others wanting to know exactly what it is that you want and how they can help. The clearer you are i.e. the better your business plan, the sooner you can move forward.

Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Good fortune can appear in all sorts of forms. Judging by Tuesdays rare link between the expansive Jupiter and your ruler Pluto, youll be experiencing a range of events. While some will be immediately recognisable as worthwhile, others may seem disruptive if not a nuisance. Still, explore them all. What seems least promising at the moment could be a golden opportunity, but in disguise.

You sense a relationship is drifting apart. A heart to heart discussion will reveal some common ground on which you can work together. Being able to overcome problems with a partner helps build character and confidence. Plan your schedule carefully so you aren`t left trying to fit in as much as you can at the last minute. A highly organised workmate or relative will give you some good tips on how to manage your time. Stick with these plans.

Mercury returns to your sign this week and next Saturday Mars, your ruling planet finally turns direct. All this suggests you will be in the limelight. Theres high probability that your thoughts as to how matters might have been manipulated or coordinated will be sought. Others might also want your opinion as to how to move forward and your leadership abilities tested. For the last time in your lifetime, Jupiter and Pluto align in Capricorn. Pluto, as you know, is the other of your ruling planets. Not for the first time, you may need to challenge those who think theyve been in authority and who have perhaps either misused their power or been unable to cope with recent challenges. There is high probability of passions being ignited and for your particular forensic ability skills to be put to the test. This though, could find you at your very, very best.

Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21

Your horoscope for this week:

For ages youve been trying to untangle persistent obstacles or achieve certain complex goals. Now youre nearly there, but are discovering the actual situation or commitment is more complex than you realise. Or, alternatively, the people involved are seriously tricky, enough youre questioning the whole thing. Dont. Once you overcome these concerns, and you`ll do so with surprising ease, everything after that will be a joy.

A friend is talking very little when you expected them to have a lot to say. Youre wondering why they arent revealing their thoughts. Because of this, youre trying to read between the lines and getting it all wrong. Youre also reading their body language in the wrong way. Give others a chance to talk and then listen. A vivid dream will highlight the importance of a close relationship.. Look for ways to engage your spiritual side.

What you learn before Thursday should prove invaluable. New contacts made over those four days should put you on new track too. For the last time in your lifetime Jupiter, your ruling planet, aligns with Pluto in Capricorn. View this as a springboard. Just a couple of days later, Mars arrives at its direct station.. This should put you in prime position for taking off at speed after next Sundays New Moon. Its often said that Sagittarius is a walking encyclopaedia. Just how valuable you are to others should now be apparent. Yet amidst all this excitement, it`s important to remind yourself that you are not superhuman and that the strain on your physical system in this last year may have been considerable. Taking time to work out what vitamins and minerals you need for the next few months would be a wise move.

Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19

Your horoscope for this week:

The ideas youre discussing are nothing new. Some are modest, others as exciting as they are complex. However, Thursdays encounter between the fortunate Jupiter and Pluto, which triggers transformation, indicates breakthroughs. While you`ve been working to achieve some, others will be as thrilling as they are unexpected. Out of character as it may be, say yes first, knowing you can deal with the details later.

If you arent paying attention, you could misinterpret someones words or miss out on a great opportunity. There may be a need to sharpen your listening skills. Encourage others to share their ideas and this will help you both to develop them further. Diplomacy will help build bridges and clear up misunderstandings. Progress will be made in career and personal plans but you still have a long way to go before you feel you are seeing the results of your hard work.

For the final time in your lifetime Jupiter and Pluto align in your sign on Thursday. A couple of days later, Mars arrives at its direct station to be followed by a New Moon. The combined effect suggests that soon, like many others, you`ll be moving off in fresh direction. True, much depends on your personal chart and you might not make that move until closer to your birthday. Plans though could be put in motion. Over the last decade your stature has surely grown. You now have considerable experience. Though you might not have always enjoyed power and authority, perhaps you now accept that certain individuals see you as having a wealth of experience and knowledge that they require to move their efforts forward. It would be unsurprising if they sought you out with a view to joining forces in a new venture in 2021.

Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18

Your horoscope for this week:

While youre capable of being amazingly easy-going about changes that would cause others serious distress, in certain areas of your life being in control is an obsession. However, destiny seems to have something new in mind - that is, ignoring your carefully crafted existing plans. Out of character as going with the flow may be, not only is it your only option, youll be glad you did.

An official figure is suspicious about your involvement in events that have been causing a stir. Its upsetting to be accused of something when you werent even at the scene. You cant provide evidence of this and theres not much you can do when you are telling the truth and others don`t believe you. Equally, they have no facts to support their accusations. Make more time for fun and pleasure pastimes and you will become a happier, more relaxed person.

For the last time in your lifetime, Jupiter and Pluto align in neighbouring Capricorn. On the horizon now is Jupiters alignment with Saturn in your sign next month. You could view the next few weeks as the overture to a whole new chapter in your life. You wont be the only sign trying to clear things up ahead of moving on – which should be an easier exercise after next weekends New Moon and Mars direct station. This week the accent is on determining qualifications and options. Mercury`s return to the apex of your solar chart midweek suggests increased communications and the possibility of being invited to join a research group. Of course, this could be part of the education package. A variation would be others seeking your help to improve their knowledge. One way or another, your inherent detective skills look set to be in demand – requiring you to delve deep into archives.

Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20

Your horoscope for this week:

At some point in the past, somebody – possibly one particular individual or a group, expressed dismay about plans you were passionate about. However, you proceeded, if discreetly, hoping that eventually their views would change. They haven`t; but your plans have grown enough they need to be discussed, and frankly. Gather the necessary facts and be prepared to stand your ground. You just might win others over.

If you arent happy where you are, think about moving on to fresher pastures. Its up to you to do something positive to improve a difficult situation. Things arent going to change unless you take action. If you sense a loved one isnt happy, ask them what is wrong. Are you in a new relationship? Your partner may suddenly become secretive about certain aspects of their life. They may be hiding the fact that they are married or they have someone waiting for them at home.

If you havent yet embraced the idea of a clear account and archiving then you may feel the need to do that in haste in the second half of the week. All this is likely in preparation for a total shift in energy to be experienced early next week. You wont be the only sign on this crusade and could indeed find that bartering is a theme embraced by many. What seems likely is that by Thursday, in joining for joining forces will be much increased. Obligations to groups or associations will likely be addressed. True, you might decide that its time to cancel a subscription. Its as likely that you will prepare to join a new group or team bringing with you an enthusiasm that`s been dormant.
