GrannyMoon’s Weekly Feast 27 Sept-4 Oct 2020! Thanks for Reading My Blog!

Autumn Equinox

Balance is brief and tenuous:
we teeter between extremes,
only to fall to one side or the other
chosen by our nature to be
bright or night, light or dark.

Warm days encourage ripening,
bring scurrying squirrels
secreting stores against the cold.
Trees drop fruit, bears gorge
Storing up nature’s harvest.
Mabon energy pretends balance
while encouraging excess.
Dwindling begins slowly,
warnings are tenuous
autumn creeps in quietly.
We may choose the bright, yet
we need the dark. It will grow
bringing with it rest and sleep.
Beginning slowly, the cycle
moves toward its end,
and too, its beginning.

Light A Candle Today!

In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

September 29 – October 4, 2020.

Hallelujah, Saturn goes direct this week. You will feel like you’ve been let out of prison. Renewed strength and patience returns. You will need it because Mars squares Saturn and brings delays, obstacles, and frustrations. Midweek, Venus tango’s with Virgo the perfectionist. If you start looking at your mate with a critical eye and want to start fixing them, DON’T. It will not end well and you will be the bad guy. By the weekend, Pluto goes direct and triggers your need to do something about what you learned about power struggles that happened over the last 5 months. Reminder, September 14th activated your personal power, lean on that when you’re feeling less than.

Full Moon in Aries, October 1, 2020
The full moon in Aries is energetic and forceful. We will really want our point of view listened to and followed as if it’s the only viewpoint in the room. We all know that leads to fights and hurt feelings. There isn’t a person in the world who enjoys getting their ideas and contributions stomped on.

Tarot Card Of The Week: The Hanged Man

The Hanged Man reminds you that sometimes you have to put everything on hold before you can take the next step, or the Universe will do it for you. When that happens it might now always be at the most convenient time!

You’re called to release old mental models and behavior patterns that no longer serve you. See your work from a new perspective and embrace new opportunities that would have been hidden from you if you hadn’t pressed pause.

You may find that your projects and activities may be coming to an unexpected stop. Don’t keep pushing forward. Instead, surrender to the opportunity to pause and view it as your chance to reassess and re-evaluate where you are on your path.

Something new is emerging, and you won’t be able to see it unless you allow the time and space for it to come through.

Ask the Tarot: In what areas of my life can I practice surrender?

Heartwings Love Notes 950: The Wisdom of the Body

Heartwings says: “Pleasure is to be found when and how we choose.”

It is truly said that eating is a pleasure that can last a lifetime. A baby’s desire to nurse is the new human’s first and most important urge. It is said that at the end of life the sense of taste is the last to go. For many, food is a great comfort. There is even a category called comfort food. Unfortunately, this kind of food can become an addictive crutch. What is important is to pay attention to the urge for the pleasure in food and not overdo it. As with any other pleasure, moderation is vital.

As many of my readers know, I love to cook, and enjoy food in many forms. Once I outgrew my allergy to grape juice I could eat or drink pretty much anything I wanted to. I even boasted I had a cast iron stomach. Lately, however, I have developed allergic reactions to food groups or items that I once ate with pleasure. While this development presents difficulties, it is not a tragedy. There are many wonderful foods to be tasted and enjoyed. Having to be mindful of what goes into my body is actually a good discipline to practice.

The prevailing attitude is that regardless of consequences, we can have it all, whatever we want to eat is ours to consume. Television programs are filled with ads for ways to combat heartburn and other digestive issues. They all involve spending money for medicine we may or may not find helpful. Of course, they insist all our troubles are over when we swallow it. Our troubles could also be over if we paid more attention to how what we consume is affecting our bodies. It isn’t rocket science to stop eating what gives the body discomfort.

Our bodies are good messengers for what they want and need. They inform us with reactions to whatever is not good for them. I have learned to respect my body’s wisdom and to heed its messages. Regardless how much I might enjoy a big juicy farmstand tomato sandwich, I know what will happen if I eat one. I regret not being able to, yet as a result of what it would do, I can pass it by easily. Sugary sweets are more difficult to pass up, yet the discomfort is enough to make for limits. Too much sugar gives me a stomach ache. When we follow the wisdom of the body, we are doing ourselves a kindness.

May you enjoy your food in a good way for you.

Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert

The Healing Benefits Of Ceremonial Cacao
https://www.mylittlemagicshop.com/

Like most of the people in the world, we assume that you love chocolate. And even if you aren’t a big fan of it, we bet that you indulge in treating yourself to it from time to time. In today’s modern world, there isn’t anyone that doesn’t know what chocolate is, or that it comes from cacao. Well, mostly from cacao. What you don’t know is that cacao beans are actually very respected, spiritual plants especially with shamans.

The cacao plant is one of most respected plants for healing purposes, so much so that there are a lot of cacao ceremonies performed. In most, you willingly let go of something that has been holding you back, thus making space in your heart for a new, better healthier intention to take place.

But it also goes beyond that, because through the ceremony you get so in tune with yourself, that you get all the pieces of you that you knew and didn’t know existed communicating with each other.

Blessing Space
By Madisyn Taylor

We can bless each space we enter, leaving a sweet energetic footprint behind.

Physical space acts like a sponge, absorbing the radiant of all who pass through it. And, more likely than not, the spaces we move through each day have seen many people come and go. We have no way of knowing whether the energy footprints left behind by those who preceded us will invigorate us or drain us. Yet we can control the energy footprint we leave behind for others. In blessing each space we enter, we orchestrate a subtle energy shift that affects not only our own experiences in that space but also the experiences of the individuals who will enter the space after us. While we may never see the effects our blessing has had, we can take comfort in the fact that we have provided grace for those that follow after us.

When you bless a room or an entire building, you leave a powerful message of love and light for all those who will come after you. Your blessings thus have myriad effects on the environments through which you pass. Old, stagnant energy is cleared, creating a vacuum into which fresh and invigorating energy can freely flow. The space is thus rendered harmonious and nourishing, and it becomes a hub from which positive feelings are transmitted. Intent is the key component of the blessings you leave in your physical wake. If your intent involves using your own consciousness as a tool for selflessly spreading grace, your blessings will never go awry. Whether you feel more comfortable performing a solo blessing or prefer to call upon your spirit guides for assistance, visualize each space you enter becoming free of toxins, chaos, and negativity as you speak your blessing. Then imagine the resultant emptiness being replaced by pure, healing white light and loving energy. Even a quick mindful thought of love can bless a space.

This type of blessing is cumulative and will grow each time you bestow it. Try blessing every home, business, and office you visit for an entire week and observing the effects of your goodwill. Your affirmative energy footprint will help brighten your day as you contemplate your blessing’s future impact on your siblings in humanity and your environment.

Llewellyn’s Spell A Day

Weave a Web of Gratitude
BY SUSAN PESZNECKER

Work this spell with three or m ore friends, family members, or loved ones or with your magical group. You’ll need a large ball of yarn or string.

Tie one end of the ball of yarn around one person’s wrist. That person begins, mentioning something they’re grateful for and adding details as desired. They then pass or toss the ball to another person, ideally someone across from them. That person wraps the string (not too tightly!) around their own wrist, mentions something they’re grateful for, and tosses the ball to another person. This continues until no one has anything left to mention. People might then mention goals or perhaps something they’re concerned about and need support for.

When it’s time to conclude, ask everyone present to marvel at the web that has been woven and how interconnected the strands are. Say together:

Each of us is but a strand, but
together we raise power and
strength. So mote it be!

To Summon Creativity
BY DEVIN HUNTER

The moon enters the sign of Aquarius today, helping us become more social and outwardly expressive. This is an excellent time to follow your bliss and to connect to the more creative elements of your personality. Cast this spell to summon the powers of creativity from inside yourself. You will need a purple candle in a holder and something to carve it with.

Using your carving tool, etch CRTVY into the side of the candle. Light it and say:

Purple moon and Aquarius vision,
creativity flows without division.
Come from within and pour
yourself out; proud and strong,
removing all doubt!

Let the candle burn out safely on its own.

Love and Lust Spell for Two
BY ARI MANKEY

With your partner or lover, place the following on a small swatch of red cloth:

* A cinnamon stick (for sexual heat)
* Rose petals (for love)
* A small piece of magnetite (for attraction)
* An acorn (in honor of the god Pan)
* A small pearl (in honor of the goddess Aphrodite)

Tie the red cloth closed with a piece of red string, then seal with wax from a lit candle and anoint with ylang-ylang oil. Together with your partner, charge the magickal pouch by simultaneously holding it in your power hands and visualizing the facets of your relationship that you each want to improve.

Place the pouch between the boxspring and mattress of your bed or under a pillow so its energies can seep into your life and lovemaking. A word of caution: Pan is a great god to call upon for initiating lust, but he’s also a fertility god. Plan accordingly.

Spark Your Creativity Spell
BY THURI CALAFIA

For this spell, you’ll need a pillar candle of a color you associate with creative ideas. First, use a small blade or wooden pick to carve a fire symbol (like the icon above) on the front of the candle. Then add symbols and words of the type of creative work you wish to enhance.

Hold the candle in your hands and visualize yourself creating, with joy and ease, all the things you wish to create. Allow yourself to feel the satisfaction of having your work turn out exactly as you’d hoped it would. Then visualize your work going above and beyond your wildest dreams and hopes, to critical acclaim and popularity, to worldwide approval and praise!

Let your hands flow over the symbols on the candle, filling it with your brightest hopes. Using a simple oil (such as olive or an essential oil you like), anoint the candle if you wish, and as you light it, thank your deities for giving you creative talent, and tell yourself that you are bright and talented and can accomplish anything you desire. Blessed be. (Be sure to extinguish the candle.)

The Wise Owl
BY CHARLYNN WALLS

Even though we’d like to think we know it all, we all could use a little more wisdom to guide us on our journey through life. On this Wednesday, work with the power of air and Athena to increase your wisdom.

Athena’s totem is the owl, which represents wisdom. Find a way to incorporate the owl into your life. Change your phone’s wallpaper to an owl, or wear an owl piece of jewelry today.

When you put this on your phone or person, say:

Athena’s owl sees, and provides
wisdom with ease.

Continue through your day and let wisdom come your way!

A Chant for Peace
BY CHARLIE RAINBOW WOLF

Today is the UN International Day of Peace, and the approaching Jupiter-Pluto conjunction makes this a fantastic time for bringing about positive change.

Chanting may be familiar to you, and you may have even used this phrase previously: Nam myoho renge kyo. This is a simple expression with transformational power. Nam means dedication, myo means wonderful, and ho is the law. Renge refers to the lotus, which grows beautiful in the mud, while kyo means sutra, or teaching.

Repeat these words throughout the day as a reminder to be at peace with yourself and your life and to bring that peace into the world as a whole. The phrase isn’t magical; it doesn’t have mystical powers. The power is within you. Chanting these words awakens the divinity in you and empowers you to be the best version of yourself that you can be. It is simple yet profound.

Mabon Apple Magic
BY MELISSA TIPTON

The autumn equinox is a powerful time to cultivate balance, and as it is the second harvest before the fallow period of winter, it is an especially potent time to balance what we take in or harvest versus what we release. Slice an apple in half (not through the stem end) to reveal the five-pointed star inside, a powerful symbol of balance among the elements. Choose one half to represent what you wish to harvest; the other half will represent what you wish to release.

Hold the releasing half of the apple in your hands and bring to mind the situations, thoughts, etc., that no longer serve you. Send them into the apple, then compost or bury it, giving thanks for this process of release. Hold the other half while you bring to mind all that you wish to welcome into your life, sending it into the apple. Then eat the apple, giving thanks for this bountiful harvest.

Drawing Strength From Our Ancestors’ Resilience
From The Spanish Flu To Today
Posted by Ancestry Team on September 24, 2020

It’s hard to believe six months have passed since the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic in March 2020. As a collective community, we have endured unprecedented challenges in every lane of life – from the global economy to our own family dynamics. At the same time, we have been deeply inspired by how people around the world have come together, with each and every organization and frontline hero joining forces to help those in need.

Many have pointed to the similarities between our current situation and the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, but what has yet to be articulated are the inspirational lessons from 100 years ago that can give us a greater sense of connection and understanding for what we are going through today.

Resilience Found in our Records

Ancestry® has always been committed to helping people discover the stories of generations that came before us, and now we’re uncovering even more stories of grit, perseverance and resilience. By analyzing census records on Ancestry, we’ve uncovered trends in occupations and industries in 1920 (the year the Spanish Influenza pandemic ended) compared to 1930 (a decade later) showing not only how the Spanish Flu affected our ancestors and the world they lived in, but how they persevered.

We aren’t just finding hope from their experiences, but seeing similar behaviors. The data below analyzes occupation trends from 1920 to 1930 census records, showing how US post-pandemic industries rebounded:

Heroes Prevail: In the decade following the Spanish Flu, people continued to rise to the occasion the same way our frontline heroes are doing today. Between 1920 to 1930, hospital Industry workers increased by 81%, and the number of teachers increased by 90%.
A Knead for Baking Then and Now: Just as Americans today are breaking out the flour and yeast with the craze of sourdough starters and banana bread obsessions, the number of people who listed Baker as their occupation grew 66% in the years following the Spanish Flu.

Serving Up Resilience: Today, restaurants, as businesses that bring together local communities, are fueling their creativity to find new ways to stay open – with outdoor dining, heat lamps, the ever-popular “walktail”. In the decade following the Spanish flu , the number of restaurant Industry workers increased 41%, and those who reported their occupation as a cook increased by 76%. The Waiter and Waitress occupations also rose greatly, with an increase of 113%. As cities across the US implemented lockdowns 100 years ago, the restaurant industry saw a big bounceback in the following decade.

“When we learn about our ancestors’ challenges and triumphs during difficult times, it empowers us to know that if they overcame it and built a better future, so can we,” explains Crista Cowan, Corporate Genealogist at Ancestry. “As we’re faced with major historic events, like our ancestors 100 years ago, and we compare it with what our world is facing today, we can find comfort in hearing how they rebuilt and how they bounced back — all by looking to our family’s past to shape our future. In fact, 91% of Americans believe that through their behaviors we can learn how to rebound ourselves, and approximately half also use this knowledge as a source of hope or motivation for what is around the corner. When we discover their stories and what their experience was overcoming these hardships, we can draw strength from their resiliency, and ultimately feel stronger in tackling whatever lies ahead.”

Experiences with Multiple Meanings
By Madisyn Taylor

The refined impression you glean from your experiences after contemplating their significance can add a new richness and texture to your life.

Though we humans are self-aware, we nonetheless cannot distance ourselves from the world around us and have a natural tendency to ascribe meaning to all that we experience. The significance we perceive in our experiences is rooted in our observation of patterns as they relate to ourselves. One situation has the power to teach us about life because it exposes us to something unfamiliar. Another touches our emotions deeply by enabling us to see how fortunate we are. Yet our initial impressions of an experience may not wholly reveal the true significance of that occurrence because our full response to an experience is like an onion with many layers that all have disparate meanings. Consider that a sunrise may stun us visually while simultaneously evoking memories of childhood and reminding us that each new day is a rebirth.

Essential Oils and the Moon
BY ROBIN IVY PAYTON

Aromatherapy
Like winds and waves, our vital life force shifts with the lunar cycle. We experience the rising energy of waxing Moon and the downward energy of waning Moon each month. When our bodies and minds are in harmony, we feel balanced and in rhythm with the universe. At those times, it’s easier to flow or be resilient during the rise or decline of lunar energy, even on challenging days. For example, when the Moon engages in a square or opposition, our anxiety or stress level may temporarily increase with the conflict or uncertainty, and then naturally return to equilibrium. Sometimes though, we become overwhelmed, blocked, or uninspired, and experience strong emotions that persist. You may burn sage, clean the house, meditate, practice gentle yoga, or manage these fluctuations with other comforting rituals and routines. Essential oils for aromatherapy are another way to boost or release energy and increase feelings of clarity, well-being, and grounding. Families of oils associate with air, water, earth, and fire, and also with portions of the lunar cycle. With your Moon and Sun profile and olfactory preferences in mind, explore essential oils as another resource to support your intentions and rhythms as the Moon waxes and wanes, peaks and shines through each of the signs.

Organic oils are gifts of nature that we humans can use for self-care and mindful transitions. Coming from the plant, they hold the inherent wisdom of nature, so when we use them we are tapping right into the source. The oils found in the bark, roots, seeds, flowers, and peels of trees, fruits, and all sorts of plants have innate antifungal, antimicrobial properties. They protect plants from disease and threats, and they attract pollinators, perpetuating survival and reproduction. When diffused into the air, ingested by mouth or nose, or applied to the skin, many essential oils interact with the human body in beneficial ways. Because their molecules are small and lipid soluble, they cross the blood-brain barrier and create emotional and physical responses. The unique smell of an essential oil may create a positive feeling instantly, yet the influence can be even deeper and affect your body at a cellular level. Some types of oils, such as citrus, herbal, spice, floral, and camphor, sync well with the cycles of the Moon and the four elements of the zodiac. To bring oils into your life, begin by identifying four or five to use on a rotating basis, guided by the Moon’s phase and sign. Note any shifts you feel as you breathe or absorb them, and create a set of supportive oils that flow with you daily and through the quarters of the Moon.

Monthly, or from one month to the next, the New and Full Moons grace particular signs, generally the polar opposites. Therefore, a New Moon in Leo leads to a Full Moon in Aquarius. When the cycle begins in Virgo, the Moon peaks in Pisces, and so on throughout the year. Your essential oils may also be based on polarities as you choose oils that align with or contrast your feelings and responses to the natural lunar rhythms. Considering the element the Moon lands in can also guide your choices.

New and waxing Moon times are for clearing the path, growing, warming, developing, progressing, and giving. These weeks correlate with air and fire elements. Citrus and spices nourish and invigorate our experiences during this half of the cycle. Yet, there are times when all of this activity feels overpowering and it makes sense to lean into herbal, floral, and tree-based oils for grounding. During the Full Moon, as we are finalizing, committing, celebrating, or healing, our emotions also reach their potential. Special oils assist in balancing hormones, moods, and how we respond to the intensity and peaks. As the Moon wanes, the energy of releasing, unwinding, adjusting, and disseminating is supported by floral, herbal, mint, and camphor. If you feel relieved or harmonious at this time, notice what oils you’re most drawn to. Alternatively, if you feel down or unmotivated, the mints and florals offer gentle uplifting, as do citrus oils, such as bergamot. Finally, the balsamic Moon is for revising and resting, and oils that refresh and cool help prepare us for the upcoming cycle.

Here are some examples of essential oils to try as the Moon moves through each phase and zodiac sign. Also, take into consideration your own Sun, Moon, and rising sign, since your individual profile influences your preferences and tendencies. Let’s start with the elements and some suggestions for how to use your oils creatively. When the Moon visits a fire sign—Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius—add a bit of oil to a candle or warm some stones and drop oils on them to inspire your mind and activities. Anoint the chest, collarbones, shoulders, and hands, all of which relate to the heart chakra. During this time of action, creativity, and social energy, choose oils like wild orange, cinnamon, clove, and grapefruit to support your plans.

On earth sign days—when the Moon is in Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn—add a drop or two of oils while cooking, dilute in a carrier oil for hands or full body massage, or have some oil-infused Play-Doh made and stored in an airtight container. Knead the dough for stress release or to exercise tired/sore fingers or wrists. Anoint knees, mastoid bones, and other joints. Think building, prospering, productivity, and also grounding, as you incorporate rosemary, geranium, lavender, cedarwood, and other woodsy and herbal oils.

Diffuse and breathe the oils when the Moon sails through air signs Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. Anoint your forehead, wrists, and ankles. If you’re drawing or writing, scent your paper with one drop. Dip a toothpick in frankincense or peppermint or place a drop under your tongue to encourage clear speech. These Moon signs encourage collaboration, communication, inventiveness, and agreements. Citrus such as lemon aligns well with the clear focus needed for such activities, while cedarwood and geranium foster open minds and grounding for working together.

When the Moon is in water signs—Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces—emotions are highlighted. Use oils that instill joy, such as tangerine, or those that support grief, like ylang-ylang or frankincense. Put one to a few drops of mint or lavender in tea or water, and drink your ingestible oils in tiny amounts. Bathe with a few drops of melaleuca (tea tree oil), jasmine, or eucalyptus with a proper dispersant, and allow your skin to absorb the oils through open pores. Anoint your abdomen, heart, and feet as you honor feelings and privacy, nurture others, and detoxify the body and mind.

Oils for Balsamic Moon
Balsamic Moon phase begins about three days before the New Moon when the Moon moves within 45 degrees of the Sun. Balsamic means restorative, and it’s a time to replenish, clear energy, create space, and reflect. Essential oils in the mint and camphor families literally clear the air. Eucalyptus, a spa favorite, comes from the leaves of the eucalyptus tree. When diffused into the air, eucalyptus smells fresh and clean, opens the nasal passages, and may help boost the immune system. Though eucalyptus has a relaxing effect on many people, it actually stimulates blood flow to the brain and can help boost energy and alertness. If the dark phase of the Moon tends to pull your energy down a bit too far, diffuse, inhale, or massage diluted eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus also has antimicrobial, antiseptic qualities that lend well to house cleaning as you prepare for New Moon.

Peppermint is also well suited to balsamic Moon phase. Mildly energizing, peppermint counteracts sluggishness or melancholy feelings characteristic of dark Moon days and cuts through murky energy in the body or the environment. Known to support respiration and digestion, peppermint oil also aligns energetically with processing and digesting experiences before starting the next lunar cycle. Inhale organic, therapeutic-grade peppermint oil from your hands to open the throat chakra and open up communication. Feel peppermint act powerfully to clear your head for decisions or conversations due with the oncoming New Moon.

Oils for New Moon
As New Moon arrives, enjoy the uplifting properties of citrus. New Moon favors initiating, regrouping, and diving into projects and plans. The citrus oils, often cold pressed from the rind, relate to motivation and fresh starts as the lunar cycle begins. They align well with our third chakra, the solar plexus, which is the home of self-esteem and sense of purpose. Lemon and wild orange oils are energy boosters that increase our focus for tasks and decisions. Grapefruit, another citrus, supports dietary changes that begin with New Moon. If you use food-grade quality oils, brighten up your water with a few drops of lemon, orange, or grapefruit, and sip throughout the active hours of your day.

Bergamot oil is reputed to balance moods, so if anxiety comes with the uprising of New and waxing Moon, try this oil to reduce tension and feel grounded. High-quality bergamot is a wonderful addition to black tea. Like the other essential oils, it can be diffused or used in the shower as a steam.

Oils for Waxing Moon
As the Moon increases, warming oils like clove, ginger, and cinnamon can be added to your routine in similar ways. These spices add a fire element, which naturally aligns with the waxing Moon. Related to the heart chakra, our fourth energy center, they have inspirational and passionate qualities aligned with growth, creativity, and openness. Use them sparingly and dilute with carrier oils, like coconut, since they tend to be strong. Spices also blend with citrus and mint oils quite nicely. Awaken your senses and keep your mind alert with blends of clove, cinnamon, and wild orange, or combine ginger and lemon for healthy digestion. Energetically, New and waxing Moon are an uprising, like the tide coming in. For some of us, this resonates and we embrace this time of progress with stronger and spicier blends. For others who tend to feel overpowered by lunar currents, milder choices like lemon or grapefruit soothe the nervous system without dimming or scattering our focus.

Oils for Full Moon
Full Moon is the high tide of the lunar cycle. Whatever you’re feeling or involved in is likely to be magnified, and emotions tend to the extremes. Precious oils and specialized selections are appropriate to Full Moon circumstances and states of mind. Frankincense is lovely any time, and is a Full Moon go-to because it blends with or enhances almost any other oil. Historically, frankincense was used in spiritual practices and associates with emotional and physical healing. Good for the skin, the immune system, and cellular health, frankincense also has anti-anxiety and antidepressant qualities. As you seek comfort, peace, the guidance of higher power, or even right speech during Full Moon time, frankincense has much to offer. It can be inhaled, diffused, or taken by mouth as long as you have high-quality, food-grade oil. Clary sage is well known for hormone balance, particularly for the female reproductive cycle. Closely aligned with lunar energy, clary sage can be rubbed on the abdomen or chest, or added to massage oil and bathwater. Women may use clary sage during their menstrual cycle, though this oil should not be used during pregnancy or if you are trying to conceive. Clary sage is also said to encourage restful sleep during this wakeful Moon time.

Copaiba, like frankincense, comes from the resin of a tree. It has a complex, spicy, and woodsy scent that is very unique. Interacting with many systems of the body, including immune, digestive, and respiratory, copaiba is a strong choice when physical issues or ailments are present. Since symptoms may increase during Full Moon, try copaiba for its reputed pain-relieving properties. This oil is also known to reduce feelings of anxiety that may peak at this time in our lunar cycle. Its earthy aroma contributes to a sense of stability and well-being.

Oils for Waning Moon
Trees and flowers offer essential oils aligned with the releasing and receptive natures of waning Moon time. Lavender, ylang-ylang, jasmine, and geranium are florals for relaxation, comfort, and sentimental feelings. The unwinding of waning Moon is similar to preparing for rest in the evening, and lavender on the feet pro-motes both calm and sleep. Jasmine is a richer, more exotic scent that uplights the Moon and is associated with love and romance. Ylang-ylang, also associated with love, has been used traditionally in wedding ceremonies. All of these floral oils are beautifying and often used in hair or skin care products. During waning Moon, add drops to your hair conditioner or a soothing bath.

Cedarwood and sandalwood, two of the tree oils, are sweet and woodsy. Breathe in during meditation to connect to the earth, while freeing your mind of extraneous thoughts once Full Moon has passed and it’s time to let go. Either can be used to steam the face and detoxify the skin, as this phase of the Moon favors release.

Note: Before using any essential oils, read about their properties and safety warnings. Use carrier oils to safely dilute before applying any essential oil to the skin.

Keeping Pets Safe This Autumn
BY MARC-ANDRÉ

PDSA offers advice on how to avoid toxic plants

With summer nearly over and autumn just around the corner, the change of seasons can be a brilliant time for you and your pets to enjoy the beautiful scenery as the countryside and parks burst into colour.

It’s also important to be aware of the seasonal dangers to our pets. There are a number of innocent-looking plants which can actually be very toxic and, in some cases, even fatal. It’s vital to know what to avoid.

“Our four-legged friends are naturally very inquisitive and will often want to sniff out new smells and objects”, says PDSA vet Anna Ewers-Clark.

“Knowing what to keep your pet away from can help keep them safe – and prevent any impromptu visits to the vets if they eat something that could be toxic.”

Poisonous plants to avoid:

Acorns – Mature acorns usually drop between September and October, but can be found on the ground for quite a while after this. Acorns can cause blockages when eaten by pets and can be toxic, especially if eaten in large quantities. They contain tannic acid which can lead to nasty vomiting and diarrhoea. Unripe, green acorns have higher levels of tannins than mature acorns so are more harmful when eaten, even in small amounts.
Yew Trees – every part of this tree is poisonous to pets and eating just a small amount can be very serious. They are often found in churchyards, so keep your eyes peeled there.
Horse chestnut trees – their bark, leaves, flowers, and conkers are all poisonous to pets. Conkers are also a choking hazard and can cause gastrointestinal blockages.
Autumn crocuses – these have pale mauve, pink, yellow or white flowers in autumn. All parts of the plant are highly toxic, especially the bulbs, so take extra care if your pet likes to dig.

Anna adds: “When out walking this autumn, it’s crucial to be aware of any dangerous plants and trees that might cause harm to your dog. Keep a close eye on them, and try to walk your pooch somewhere you know is clear of toxic plants.

“If you know your pet has a habit of being a bit of a scavenger, you might need to take extra precautions like training them to use a basket muzzle while you’re out and about to prevent them picking up anything dangerous. It’s also a good idea to carry some tasty treats with you to tempt your dog away from anything dangerous that they might want to eat.”

“Vomiting, diarrhoea, shaking and abnormal breathing could all be signs that your pet might have eaten something poisonous,” adds Anna. “But even if your pet’s not showing any signs, if you know they’ve eaten something they shouldn’t, call your vet straight away. They will be happy to provide guidance on whether it’s likely to be dangerous for your pet and advise what you should do. The quicker you act, the quicker vets can provide essential treatment when it’s needed, which can reduce or prevent serious and sometimes life-threatening problems for your pet.”

Fun Ice Themes For Halloween/Samhain
by Ghost Hunting Theories
http://www.ghosthuntingtheories.com/

When you think of Halloween, it’s normally colors like orange and black, scents like pumpkin and cinnamon, but there is something acutely spooky about a frozen world. There are plenty of inspiring ways to use ice this October to create a horror movie marathon or an ice bar party. Here’s some concepts –

Skull ice cubes –

Molds to make shot glasses out of ice –

Mold to make ice luge to pour drinks down – with LED colored lights! –

An icee maker! –

Air cooler with ice tray (great for adding more chill to your ice bar) –

Snow cone/Shaved ice machine –

Try the new cool cocktail favorite – sphere ice –

An ice bucket –

Even if you’re not entertaining yet because of social distancing, I suggest an at home party with your significant other involving a mock ice bar setting.

Turn the air conditioning way down to a chilly temp (temporarily while you’re having your one-on-one party).

Put on some blue lights instead of white lights.

Set up ice shot glasses, an ice luge, and big round ice cube balls.

For music, I’d go north – like in Lapland or Iceland, or perhaps even some Mongolian throat singing –

Take a chill pill and enjoy!

If you’re in a movie marathon mood – make some icy drinks and icee slushes and enjoy these great chilly horror movies –

Dead Snow
Sauna
Wind Chill
The Shining
30 Days of Night
The Abominable Snowman
Frozen
The Thing From Another World
Let the Right One In

You don’t think it’s possible to use no to very little money to scare people? You don’t see the advantages of repurposing items and recycling them instead of adding to yearly disposables? What if this scary year of 2020 affected your pocketbook? Maybe staying home has given you time to create. Let’s use it instead of losing it.

The awesome short horror film “Birch” certainly showed us natural elements strike something very elemental in us.

I will show you how to use household and woodland items, found items, thrift store finds, and more to create costumes, decor, party themes, and more!

Gilberto’s Situation
by Stephen Halpert

It was late when Gilberto and Maria left the hotel and began driving back to their Back-Bay condo.
Gilberto chuckled, then yawned. “I feel full, fat.”
“You should,” she said with mock indignation. “You put away at least four lobsters plus sushi and whatever else you gobbled up from the raw bar.”
He frowned. “But we were celebrating!”
The choral from Beethoven’s Ninth resonated from her purse. She took out her device. “It’s Rosa,” she said. Then fell silent, listening. “You could be right. But who can trust gossip on the internet? Let me ask him. Rosa’s asking if Karibe’s parents are rich?”
He shook his head. “They’re schoolteachers, have a small farm on the coast. We all got soccer scholarships that paid to put us through school.”
“You heard what he said,” Maria said. What followed were long squawks of fast words; Maria nodded in agreement. “Ok, she said. “Yes, I hear you. We’ll definitely talk about it.” She signed off, put away her device, stretched, grinned. “Be so nice to get in bed with my sexy vice president.”
Feeling full of lobster, he grinned and sighed. “Let’s just stop by the bank and drop off that wonderful check.”
“Don’t be so impatient. Wait.” Her eyes danced. “If you wait. Then tomorrow when you walk into the bank the pretty ladies will smile when they remember your big deposit.”
He laughed. “That’s not fair. “Isn’t that reverse sexism?”
There was a twinkle in her eye. “So, you admit you’d like the pretty ladies paying you attention.”
“He shrugged. “Most men do.” She thought he sounded defensive.
“Would you mind not stopping tonight. I’d like it just to be us.”
He shrugged. “But tomorrow, first thing.”
She didn’t argue. “I love how you always take such good care of us.”
“It’s the right thing to do.” His voice sounded like he was a Knight, polishing his armor.
She drew on her courage. “I do want to tell you. I really don’t want us living in Caracas.”
He frowned. “Sounds like Rosa got in her two cents. But we won’t have to. With that kind of money, we can keep the Boston condo and get a place there too. Maybe a house on the beach.”
“Gilberto, there’s more to it than that. I know you know about shipping but what do you know about the business of pro soccer? Besides, what do you really know about Karibe? You played together decades ago. But isn’t that about it?”
He sounded indignant. “Since then he’s become successful at trading bonds, hedge funds.”
“That’s what he told you and Ramon? But that’s not the reason I don’t want us there now.”
Now he was upset. “All this is because of what Rosa said! He turned into the gas station by the strip mall and stopped the car.
She took his hand, looked into his strong features and sighed. “Ok, Gilberto. I was waiting for the right moment to tell you: I’m pregnant.” She sighed. “I wasn’t going to say anything until this weekend was over.”
His head swirled. He couldn’t find words. His feelings were captivated. Then he sobbed, “I’m going to be a father!” His voice rose and he shouted for the world to hear. “I’m fulfilling the destiny of my family.”
Maria’s eyes filled with tears. “And I’m going to be a mother. Please, Gilberto include me in the dream of our healthy loving child.”
They pulled out and drove home: Gilberto’s head spun. His heart was filled with joy. Maria was quiet, both sleepy and happy to have finally shared her good news.
They paid the sitter, checked on Joey, and climbed into bed. He reached for her. But his mind was still miles away. “Now I can’t decide. It’s Karibe’s dream not mine. And I know that for the Caracas dream to fly would be a 24/7 commitment, both here and there. It would mean Joey would go to a private school Picked up, brought home by the bus, first class. He’d love it.”
Maria spoke up. “Maybe,” she said.
His mind wandered. “Atlas has a great reward system for executives. But a million a year salary…It would be brutal work building a top soccer team, but the money would be amazing. We could buy a boat, new cars, even a private jet.”
She put her elbow on her pillow. “What for? That consumption fueled by stress that can kill you even sooner. Gilberto, think about it.”
“I am. I don’t want to be addicted to pressure but Maria it feels so incredible making big money decisions and watching them fly.”
“I can’t disagree with you. And I won’t try talking you out of it. You’d never forgive me.”
“But I don’t know. Sure, we can let it float, take a vacation and see what’s it’s like there. But then what?”
“You don’t have to decide anything now.” Maria rested her head on his shoulder. “Let God decide for you. Throw up your hands and say Ok God, I give up. Help me out here. For all we know there could be divine guidance in some form.” She yawned. “I’m sleepy.”
He liked feeling her beside him. “You do that? Talk to God that way? Isn’t that just a little too casual?”
“Works for me,” she grinned. “Whenever I need a parking space, I ask and one appears. I think by now He’s assigned an angel to bypass Boston traffic.”
He laughed. “So ok, we do nothing, just let it happen. I like the way you think.”
She grinned. I like the way you make me feel. But remember Gilberto, It’s no big deal, it’s only money.”
“Now you sound like Karibe.”
“I wonder if Ramon and Rosa are having this same conversation.”
“Probably,” she yawned again.
Gilberto shook his head. “I wouldn’t want to be in Ramon’s shoes. “Did you see how she watched him? Like a cop! Poor guy didn’t even dare order another beer. I hope you’re never that bossy.”
` She put her arms around him and pressed her lips to his. It was a long kiss that could have gone on for hours.”
“From now on I’ll do the heavy lifting,” he said. “I want you to get plenty of rest. Maybe we should hire a nurse or an au pair.”
She smiled. “Let’s just go to sleep.”
At five thirty Gilberto’s device jangled. Ramon’s voice was strained. “Get dressed, pick you right up. We go to the hospital.”
Maria raised her head. What’s happening?”
“It’s Ramon, something important. He pulled on some clothes and kissed Maria. ” I’ll be back.”
Ramon pulled up. Gilberto got in.
“Ok what’s up,”
Ramon focused on driving. “Lola called us from the hospital. Karibe had some kind of stroke. They’re doing what they can for him.”
Gilberto sighed. “She probably tired him out.”
Ramon smirked. “Something like that. She talked to Rosa.”
Inside they were taken to Karibe’s private room. He was prone on a hospital bed, tubes attached to his arms. He lay still as though his essence had somehow left the rest of him. His heart was beating; his vitals functioned; but it was obvious he wasn’t there. Lights on, nobody home.
Lola looked drained. “I’ve never seen anything like this before.
We were going to elope. He loves me.” She burst into tears. “I’ll be here waiting. I won’t leave his side until he’s not locked in anymore. That’s what the doctor called his condition, being locked in. Specialists will examine him tomorrow, then make determinations.”
Ramon went to his sister-in-law and tried to comfort her.
Gilberto nodded and sighed. “Let’s hope for the best.” As he and Ramon turned to go, he saw she was wearing Karibe’s gold medallion around her neck.

Weekly Horoscopes

September 27, 2020
All Signs

It’s been tough with Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn at odds with Mars. This week retrograde Mars once again squares Saturn! Oy! Furthermore, this happens just before the Full Moon in Aries. Everyone will go ballistic! (Is this an exaggeration? Yes, I need the attention.) But there is some truth here. Ponder this. The best way to live this week is to be on your best behaviour and avoid saying or doing something you might regret. Consider the wisdom of Montaigne: “My life has been full of terrible misfortunes most of which never happened.” And there’s always the Kingsman Cure: “Martini. Gin. Not vodka. Obviously. Stirred for 10 seconds while glancing at an unopened bottle of vermouth.”

Aries (March 21-April 19)
I won’t sugarcoat it. You’ve had easier weeks. You will definitely feel the tension leading up to the Full Moon in your sign on Thursday. In part, because at the beginning of the week, your ruler Mars is square Saturn. Your wisest course of action is to proceed slowly and cautiously this week. Be thorough in everything you do. No haste! Don’t be discouraged if authority figures say bad things about you that seem to encapsulate the worst suspicions you have about yourself. (Aagghh!) The harmony that you wish you could have with your spouse or partner seems elusive! But this is the challenge of the Full Moon in your sign. Be quiet. Resist the urge to shout someone down. Be smart.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Some of the frustrations that you will experience this week could be related to your job or any work that you are doing. You might privately, silently, feel at odds with the prevailing sentiments in society, the news or social media. You might also feel oppressed. (Join the club.) Meanwhile, you want to get along with coworkers and others in your life who might be related to your health or even a pet. And yet, there is tension dealing with these people. Go figure. Silence and tolerance will be your friends. Just let all this hullabaloo blow over. Don’t get involved. Instead get some good food and drink. (You know the drill.)

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Something to do with your friendships or your relationship with a member of a group might be a bit gruelling or challenging this week. You might find yourself at odds with someone, especially with regards how to spend a specific amount of money or deal with shared property or decide who is responsible for what. Whatever happens might discourage you! (Champagne is a marvellous lift.) In addition, the Full Moon will also put you at odds with your kids or a romantic partner because you simply cannot keep everyone happy. Let fun times and good music soothe the savage beast. No matter what you are dealing with, remember how to relax and be happy. It’s not impossible to do. And so easy to forget!

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Mars is at the top of your chart and Saturn is opposite your sign. This is a tough combo! It can create fear, anger and discouragement. You feel that whatever you’re trying to do is blocked by others, especially the government, bosses or the police. This week even partners and close friends might feel not supportive. Meanwhile the Full Moon will stir up situations at home or within the family. The peace that you want and the togetherness that you hope to achieve with loved ones has gone out the window! However, don’t be alarmed because these challenges are temporary. They really are. And Venus is in a lovely part of your chart helping you to be diplomatic and charming with others. You might feel better if you cook something delicious for everyone – or maybe just you.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Pay attention to everything you say and do because this is an accident-prone week. Your efforts to travel or deal with publishing, the media, medicine or the law will meet with problems. People will not cooperate. (From your point of view.) Things might be ambiguous. You might feel frustrated or blocked by whatever is happening. On top of that, the Full Moon can create arguments with daily contacts, siblings and relatives. This can be wearisome. Keep in mind that in the bigger picture, you will improve your health this year and your job. Glory hallelujah! Remember this.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Money squabbles might be the underlying theme of this week. (Or not.) Your efforts to reach an agreement about inheritances, shared property, taxes, debt or insurance issues will be frustrated by others. They might not agree or they might pull in the letter of the law or some kind of authority to block you. Grrr. The Full Moon on Thursday might bring this to a head. Now you see clearly who doesn’t want to play ball and who wants to do things differently from you. This doesn’t mean someone else is right and you are wrong or vice versa. But it does mean you disagree. Naturally, you are logical and analytical, which doesn’t always fit with someone who has an emotional investment in something.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
This week can be stressful dealing with partners and close friends. Whatever you try to achieve, especially at home, will meet with opposition. “Why do you want to do that?” It’s difficult to explain why you want things a certain way at home because others are not as affected by their environment the way you are. Keep plodding slowly and carefully every day inching your way toward achieving your objective. Don’t make a big deal about anything. Work quietly and carefully. Naturally, you are going to feel the tension of this week’s Full Moon because it is the only Full Moon that is opposite your sign all year! Remember: A closed mouth gathers no feet.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
You might encounter difficulties with coworkers or someone related to whatever you’re doing. Something might happen that triggers fear or self-doubt within you. You might question what you’re doing. (Especially if people in power are opposing you or telling you otherwise.) You have to keep your wits about you but proceed slowly with care. Ideally, you want to keep to yourself so that you can maintain your peace of mind; but this Full Moon might trigger tension and conflict with others! Be patient. Don’t take the bait. You don’t have to respond or overpower anyone. Decide to sit this one out and watch from the sidelines. “A food fight!”

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Sagittarian parents might face control issues with their kids. The kids might feel you’re too bossy. You might feel that they’re not listening. Could be a little of both. Romantic partners might also make difficult demands. Added to this is the tension of the Full Moon, which peaks on Thursday but begins on Tuesday. The warm friendship and success that you want dealing with groups seems to be overpowered by the demands of others. You feel like you can’t win! But this is not true. Venus is at the top of your chart making you look great to bosses and VIPs. Stay calm and look like you know what you’re doing. Fake it till you make it. (Nothing succeeds like the appearance of success.)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Difficulties with a family member or a situation at home are here. Whatever you want to do – is blocked by circumstances or someone in particular, perhaps an older family member? You might also feel diminished or criticized by someone. Do not take this to heart because this is just a fleeting planetary challenge that ignites your sense of fear or fear of inadequacy. (We all have this!) Don’t waste time defending yourself or your ideas. Keep calm. This Full Moon makes you feel pulled between what you want to do versus your responsibilities at home. Remember your long-term objective. (This is a Butch Cassidy moment: “Who are those guys?”)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This is an accident-prone week. An accident doesn’t have to happen, but it could if you are distracted by anger, anxiety or self-doubt. A squabble with a daily contact, sibling or relative might occur. Others don’t agree with you or they dismiss what you say. Do not react with frustration. And don’t believe the worst about you. The Full Moon this week triggers arguments with others about politics, religion and racial issues, but you don’t need this. Yes, you want to make the world a better place but do it when you are confident. This week is not the time. “These are not the droids you’re looking for.”

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Financial arguments and challenges might take place this week for your sign. This could relate to your earnings, or lack of earnings. This could relate to something that you own. It could also relate to your choice of how you want to spend your money. This is not the week to ask for a raise or squabble about money in any way. Definitely. It’s a poor week to argue with creditors or stores about a purchase or anything to do with shared property, inheritances and insurance issues. Too many power struggles – too many difficulties! Instead, go with what works. And what works is your relations with friends and those who are closest to you, partners and spouses. Enjoy warm bonds where you find them.

Weekly Horoscopes Beginning Sunday
27 September 2020

If you`re born within cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you`re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You`re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.

Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don`t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.

Aries
Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Obviously, you can`t plan ahead for the dramas likely to be triggered by the Aries Full Moon on Thursday; but you can make a point of discussing any tricky matters or issues you`d been sidestepping, if not avoiding entirely. While what arises won`t necessarily be negative and could, in fact, turn out to be a breakthrough, in every case you`ll be relieved you`re finally tackling the issues in question.

Not all gossip and conversations should be taken seriously. People will insist that what they are saying is true when it will turn out to be nothing other than their personal opinion. A small problem will cause some inconvenience later. No matter how hard you try, you might find it impossible to sustain your ability to carry on as usual. It won`t be apparent at first but if you ask for help from a support group, they may have the solution at their fingertips.

Until at least Thursday`s Full Moon in your sign, you could experience unusual levels of panic as you try to balance the books, work out what to do with a property deal and generally determine your future. It might help to know that on Tuesday, and for the last time in roughly three decades, Saturn stations at the apex of your solar chart. This is a defining moment. You are right then to put as much energy as you can into arriving at conclusions: not usually a problem for those of your sign. The difficulty is that this year you may feel you`re caught in a Catch-22 situation. All you can reasonably do is accept that nothing is ever perfect. Interestingly, whilst going through all of this, you will likely gain much respect from someone who is well aware of the investment you have put in in the last decade and how much they rely on you.

Taurus
Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20

Your horoscope for this week:

For ages you`ve been tiptoeing around a range of tricky situations and decisions as complex as they are, increasingly, pressing. Judging by Tuesday`s superb link between your ruler Venus and forthright Mars, frank discussions will achieve wonders. Better yet, the matters in question will accent other, less complex, but more promising situations. Tackle them, too, and you`ll achieve more this week than you have for ages.

Even if you are stuck in familiar places doing familiar chores, your mind will be on distant horizons. This is a good time to start making long-term plans. Think about making changes in any area of your life that isn`t going as well as you think it should. Choose your company with care. A friend or neighbour will offer advice that isn`t good for you. If you need a second opinion about anything, ask someone you know you can trust.

This is likely to be a make or break week for many people. Thursday`s Full Moon draws attention to a sector of your solar chart associated with your working life. In moving forward, you might need to accept altered working arrangements. The good news is that Saturn stations in another of the Earth signs, Capricorn: an area to which it will not return for three decades. This may be the moment to ensure that even if a situation is coming to an end, that your input is accurately recorded on your CV. In time, you might wish to draw attention to the commitment you`ve put in in recent years. With Mercury now moving through Scorpio, your opposite sign, there may be moments when you think others are trying to manipulate you into making a decision that`s to their benefit but not yours; and yes, you may need to stand your ground firmly. In so doing, you could also show entrepreneurial flair and perhaps on Friday, cut an attractive deal.

Gemini
Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Obviously, you won`t be enthusiastic about tackling the range of dull practicalities or obligations facing you. What`s more, most have been on your mind for ages. Still, you`re dreading dealing with these. However, with your ruler Mercury moving to accent exactly such matters, not only will things go smoothly, the resulting insights will enable you to turn those obstacles to your advantage, now and in the future.

Slow down a little and start enjoying the pleasures of life. People who know you best will catch your mood and go with it. Someone will come up with a surprise or two on how to get the most out of the time you spend together. All that will be required is a willingness to love, laugh and be happy. A touch of mental telepathy keeps close relationships harmonious. You will instinctively know when to speak and when to listen. Friends will appreciate your compassion and consideration.

Arguably better than any sign, you know how to `have friends and influence people`. It will be another three decades before Saturn stations in Capricorn; and yes, by the end of September there could be tough choices to make. You might wonder several times over if you`re getting a promised good deal. Yet it may be that you can`t draw this out much longer and that you need to put plans or a schedule to last you through until the end of the year. As always, don`t underestimate either your network or your creativity. True, with Mars retrograde some people (notably those born under the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn) may not be in a position to give you all the attention and support you need. The choice is whether or not to complain or to get on with your plans. In listening to your inner voice – especially in the hours leading up to the Full Moon – could lead you to a plan with which you are comfortable.

Cancer
Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Talk about potential changes in your way of living or working has been going on for months. While you`ve rethought some arrangements, others have remained undecided. The Full Moon, on Thursday, which brings both changing circumstances and feelings to a peak-forces everybody, you and others, to make a lasting plan. The good news is, this will be flexible enough you can rethink things later.

Anything to do with a team effort will go well. No matter what you are doing, sharing the challenges and responsibilities will be the fastest way to get through it all. Not only this but you will soon see the end of what has been a complex task and this will be a good reason for a small celebration. Avoid taking on any new financial commitments until you`ve looked carefully into what`s involved. Speculation is not a good idea, either.

Thursday`s Full Moon accents the very backbone of your solar chart. The Moon aligns with Chiron: the planetoid orbiting between Saturn and Uranus. This planetoid has a reputation as a wounded healer and yes, it`s possible that the health of either colleagues or close family will dominate much of this week. Note however that Saturn`s station in Capricorn (your opposite sign), is the last of its kind for nearly three decades. This should mark a defining moment. From here, the only way is up. Yes, this will likely require an altered approach but you`ve got used to that in recent times. Cancers have a reputation for clinging on to habits and familiarity. Yet these can be broken if there is any threat to security. This week brings less of a threat and clarity about the way forward. Grasping the opportunities this brings will likely not be difficult.

Leo
Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Your ruler the Sun is in charming Libra. While ordinarily, this would indicate pleasant time spent with those you know and new acquaintances, you`ll be preoccupied by practical matters. Some will be no surprise, others a surprise but not especially tricky. However, a few will demand serious time, thought and attention. The good news? What you learn as result of your efforts will be amazingly rewarding.

You will have to be patient and tolerant of others until a tense situation has blown over. If you had hoped to start on a joint project, this might be best left until later. Wait until you sense a positive change in the atmosphere before instigating anything new. Equally, you won`t want to start on a home improvement project if you feel there will be arguments. Instead, keep alert for any interesting financial or job openings.

Others want you to take sides. This could be particularly true at Thursday`s Full Moon; and yes, you could have strong feelings. It is likely though that you want to break away from this mess. Disentangling might require making clear that you`ve had enough – particularly of one complaint. Yes, it is true that you might have a change of heart, but perhaps not yet. It may be important for now that others clear up the mess that they have created. Meanwhile, your attention may be needed at home, and specifically with material that has been archived and which now needs to be reviewed. Dealing with an insurance matter is possible. Should this be the case, then be doubly sure that you`re keeping papers in good order as this matter might not resolve for a few weeks yet.

Virgo
Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Few things annoy you more than being forced to compromise or make decisions based on unreliable information. Instead of battling to get adequate facts, as you`d usually do, simply acknowledge that even simple arrangements must be regarded as tentative, and instead of focusing on details, ensure whatever you organise is as flexible as possible. That will pave the way for those twists and turns.

A friend who owes you money or a favour will ask for extra time to repay you. If this is no inconvenience to you, be kind and allow this. You aren`t being too lenient with someone by giving them more time to sort themselves out. Work projects and official issues will glide along as if on a magic carpet. For some, bringing a group of people together under one roof will feel amazing and uplifting after you have been apart for so long.

It would be understandable if you had real and deep concerns about long-term financial arrangements. Arguably prompted by someone close, you might want to get this situation wrapped up around Thursday`s Full Moon. There may be tax advantages to doing so. You might also be called upon to look after an item of some value. Perhaps it needs to be restored to former glory. Arguably, it couldn`t be in better hands. You might however, have to negotiate a schedule and make clear that this task can`t be hurried. For the last time in approximately three decades, Saturn stations in Capricorn in the hobbies area of your solar chart. A by-product of this will likely be determination to focus on latent talent that`s been given insufficient attention. It may not be too late to turn this into another revenue stream.

Libra
Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22

Your horoscope for this week:

As a thorough Libra, obviously you`d rather make plans once, and be done with it. However, with the idea`s planet Mercury accenting practicalities and going retrograde in mid-October, even seemingly simple arrangements will change, and change again. Actually, that`ll be handy, because the Libra New Moon, on the 16th, triggers personal questions and, equally, ushers in a fresh perspective on a range of plans and ideas.

You expected a legal matter to hit a snag so it will come as a pleasant surprise when it is settled very quickly. Equally, if you`re attending any kind of official meeting, you will be happy with agreements reached. Quick thinking along with having the courage of your convictions will serve you will where a business matter is concerned. You might spot a bargain for your home or acquire something you`ve longed to own for a long time.

For the final time in roughly three decades, Saturn stations at the base of your solar chart. This, combined with the Full Moon in your opposite sign on Thursday, suggests the closing of a chapter but also the opening of another. True, the process could take until Mars completes its transit of your opposite sign early next year. It should be clear however, that you are in the midst of a clearing-up operation. Yes, your scales could be imbalanced and yes, you will need to look after your health. Balancing all this however, is the high probability of connecting with those with whom you share a special working bond. It may be that this could be developed further. True, you might feel as though you`re endlessly problem-solving and to a degree, bogged down in administrative matters. Hold the thought that these times too will pass and that attention to these details now should save difficulties later.

Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Whatever you`re organising, you`ll invest time and serious thought in arrangements, so once things are settled, that`s that. While usually that approach works, with Mercury moving into Scorpio actually on Sunday the 27th, but retrograde from 14 October until 3 November, and changing signs while in reverse motion, even seemingly simple plans will change, as will your priorities. The solution? Be flexible about absolutely everything.

It`s tempting to discuss what you are thinking with your family and friends. You respect and appreciate feedback. Wait until all is quiet before you bring up important subjects. At times there will be a frenzied mood around you. People won`t be listening properly or they will be distracted and unable to give you their full attention. It may not be possible to start anything new in the home but you can make plans and look for ways round any potential pitfalls that might lie ahead.

Not only is there a Full Moon on Thursday and in another of the Mars-ruled signs Aries, but Saturn arrives at its final station in Capricorn for roughly three decades. These factors together suggest a defining moment. For you, limitations associated with either health or work should ease. True, it will be some weeks yet before the full effect is felt. Nevertheless, it`s likely you`ll accept that a turning point has been reached. With this comes the prospect of thinking creatively as to what could yet be achieved before your birthday. This could include putting your house in order. At another level, it may be about re-accessing ideas and dreams that haven`t been given the attention they needed but, thanks to new connections, could yet see the light of day.

Sagittarius
Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21

Your horoscope for this week:

You thrive on a range of activities, especially those that broaden your horizons, in terms of who you meet and what you learn. However, with fiery Mars accenting such matters, events are forcing you to shift certain longstanding habits or, possibly, break away from familiar elements of your life. Annoying as this is initially, who and what you encounter won`t just be interesting, it could be life-changing.

There are money matters that need your intention. It`s important not to leave them standing unattended for too long. Funds from a government agency will finally arrive after a long wait. Signing a lease, buying some furniture or replacing a car are among the possibilities. It is unusual for you to instigate a tidy up program but getting the decks cleared for possible action in the future is suddenly very important to you.

For the final time in roughly three decades, Saturn stations in neighbouring Capricorn. This apparent standstill takes place just a couple of days before the Full Moon in another of the Fire signs, Aries. It`s quite possible that this will be a ground-breaking time – and at many levels. Whilst others (close partners in particular), may be going off on new career tangents, you might give thought to research and development and specifically, hobbies that haven`t been given as much attention as you would like. An investment in these might be considered advisable. There is high probability that you`re now ready to make a commitment – even if that requires accepting greater responsibility. It might also require that you alter working patterns to allow for health or travel issues that are now part of daily life.

Capricorn
Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19

Your horoscope for this week:

While you can`t do much about the range of unexpected and, mostly, unsettling events reshaping your life and world, each as a breakthrough, in some form. True, initially that won`t be clear. Still, if you can manage to wait, watch and learn, then instead of battling those developments, you`ll soon recognise just how wonderful the changes they`re bringing will be for you and others.

Efficiency is the name of the game. You may have recently allowed others to persuade you to let duty take a back seat. This won`t satisfy you at all now. You`re in the mood to get into the swing of things and to clear decks where outstanding chores are concerned. Energy levels are high and you can expect a pleasingly busy and constructive few days. Just be sure to think things through before starting anything new.

On Tuesday, Saturn makes its last station in Capricorn for roughly three decades. This is followed a couple of days later on October 1st by a Full Moon that accents the backbone of your solar chart. Your problem-solving abilities could be put to the test. You won`t be the only sign encumbered with extra responsibility but in your case might need to decide if you can afford to support a colleague when they`re clearly not up to the job. Of course, it may be that they realise this but haven`t yet found an alternative career path. Finding a way forward could challenge your diplomatic skills. Meanwhile, and quite separately, someone you worked with some time back might ask for extra assistance. They obviously feel you have more hours in the day than is the case! In short, by the end of this week your plate could be super full.

Aquarius
Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18

Your horoscope for this week:

Those who refuse even to explore new places, ideas or consider changes puzzle you. Yet in some situations you`re being just as stubborn, mostly because you don`t even recognise certain options as being possible. Some have been one of your blind-spots for ages, others are so new they`re unfamiliar, so you distrust them. Whatever the case, say yes now, and focus on those details later.

You have a long history of putting other people`s needs first. It`s time now to push your own dreams and aspirations higher up your list of priorities. Think about developing your creative talents. Doing what you love will make you feel great inside. Trust your intuition when making a big decision. Whether this concerns money, plans for the future or a child`s education, you need to think things through alone. Only through doing this will you be certain of the best move to make.

By the end of this year, Saturn will have arrived in your sign. On Tuesday, it makes its final station in neighbouring Capricorn. That this comes just a couple of days before a Cardinal full Moon suggest this will provide a turning point or steppingstone for many people. Decisions might need to be made; and yes, most signs will encounter extreme problem-solving. Yours is a sign with extraordinary ability to think differently. Whilst initially it might seem that you`re tied by rules, regulations and boundaries which you did not set in the first place, it could fall to you to both respect these yet identify the time when these will no longer be appropriate. Yes, this probably means you`re moving up the career ladder and will need to take greater personal responsibility. It might also be that you determine on entrepreneurial activity that puts you very much in the driving seat.

Pisces
Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20

Your horoscope for this week:

The biggest challenge you`re facing isn`t actually your problem. These issues are influencing others, yet with every passing day, you`re becoming more involved. Yet you already sense these really aren`t yours to deal with. What`s more, you`re ignoring certain new ideas or offers. The problem? Things are going too smoothly, so there`s not enough drama. Proceed. That excitement will come soon enough.

Too many demands have been made on you or your time lately and you haven`t let anyone see how draining this has been for you. The end of the month is a good time to start to ease yourself out of tedious situations. One way to get others to shoulder their own responsibilities is by simply not being around for them to lean on. Your attention will be drawn to an unresolved money matter. There`s no escaping a need to tie up financial loose ends.

With, it seems, so many people coming to major decisions by Thursday`s Full Moon, it would be understandable if you felt overwhelmed. On Tuesday, Saturn stations in Capricorn for the last time in three decades. This could bring a moment of finality. Lines in the sand may be drawn and conclusions reached. Yet you may feel that more time needs to be given before panic buttons are pressed. You should, perhaps, focus on matters close to home. Your problem-solving abilities – particularly with regard to financial matters – might require attention before October 1. Not being drawn into dramas created by others but perhaps yes, involving complex family issues could be challenging. That said, you could forge a formidable bond with someone who shares your career history and who recognises that you still have much to offer.
