Light A Candle Today!
In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

New Moon in Leo August 19, 2020
Every month the new moon sets the stage for a new beginning. Not the “ta-da” part of new beginnings, but the part where we find ourselves underground in the dark, and following our instincts to the light. Even though there’s no evidence yet that we will be successful we are driven to continue.
You are so amazing you deserve a hype man.
When you are this good, it’s time to sing your praises.
Everyone has their specialty, their superpower as it were. Especially right now with how much the world is catawampus, we have all tapped in inner power and honed it to forward our survival in body, mind, and spirit.

The Five of Wands
Are you dealing with tension right now?
The Five of Wands indicates that you are in the midst of battle, tension, and competition with others and it is impacting your ability to move forward with your goals.
Rather than being able to work towards a common goal, you are running up against constant opposition.
With the Five of Wands, everyone is fighting to be heard, but no one is listening. When everybody has a different opinion, but no-one is stopping to hear each other out, conflict and misunderstandings will run rampant.
If you find yourself in this situation, see it as an opportunity to rise above the chaos and disorder. Take a moment to listen to what others have to say – even if you agree to disagree. The key is to tune in to one another and allow each person to make their case.
Ask the Tarot: How can you take an enthusiastic approach to change?
Heartwings Love Notes 944
Mirror, Mirror What Do You Say?
Heartwings says, “What you see in the mirror depends on how you see yourself.”
By employing self-discipline and restraining his appetite, recently Stephen lost fifteen pounds, and it shows. I told him he was my skinny husband, and he replied, “When I look in the mirror that’s not what I see.” I know what he means. No matter how thin I have ever been in my life, I could never see it for myself. I was a well-rounded child who wore clothes that were labeled “chubby.” I was conditioned from my youth to see myself as being overweight. Perhaps my mother thought if I were satisfied with my appearance I’d gain weight. I believe her mother had been merciless when it came to what constituted being even slightly overweight.
My experience is that as a result of our conditioning, what we see in the mirror is not necessarily accurate. What we see is governed by what we think. If we believe ourselves to be overweight that is what we will see, regardless what the truth may be. Sometimes I see old photos of myself and marvel at how slender I appear, yet I remember that at the time I thought I needed to lose weight. Women who suffer from eating disorders like anorexia or bulimia have a distorted view of themselves and their appearance that leads to the perpetuation of these disorders. They have no idea what they actually look like and persist in seeing themselves as in some way less than what they wish they were. Although I don’t have to deal with that, I do sympathize.
I once had a graphic experience that showed me the truth of what I’m describing. I was walking through a clothing store where I was meeting a friend. I noticed an attractive sweater lying on a sale table, picked it up, and put it on. When I stood in front of the mirror, I thought it looked rather nice. Then I realized I had one at home that was very similar, as well as the same color. I was still looking into the mirror when right before my eyes I saw the sweater change radically. It went from attractive to ill-fitting and unattractive. When I had thought I wanted it, it appeared nice. When I realized I didn’t, it no longer looked desirable.
To be sure I hadn’t moved any part of my body or changed my position between the two thoughts. I was still looking at myself when my image altered. Magically, wrinkles appeared where there had been none before. Clearly the sweater no longer fit properly! The whole garment looked quite different from the way it had when I first put it on. What a wonderful lesson that was. I never forgot it. Now, although when I look in the mirror, I attempt to see what is before me truthfully, I realize I must be content to accept that what I see is my personal vision of me, not how others may see me.
May you see clearly and not fall prey to fears or expectations.
Blessings and Best Regards, Tasha Halpert

“Shhh…” He glared at his sister. “Honestly, girls are useless.” The cat turned and looked straight at the children. It hissed, crouched low like a panther. They froze as the old woman turned and looked at the bush where they were hiding. Lank grey hair hid her face. All they could see was the curious brilliance of her eyes.
They barely dared to breathe.
A branch snapped and they ran, diving through the undergrowth towards the fallen stones of the wall. The world seemed to change as they jumped that final hurdle and landed breathless on the tarmac. Neither sunlight nor traffic noise had penetrated the green shadows that separated the old house from the neat gardens of the street.
“She’s just a lonely old woman,” their mother had said, her hands deep in the flour of the baking bowl. “A bit eccentric.” They had waited, eager faces lit with the fire of mystery. “She was old when I was a girl. Had a flea-bitten cat that followed her everywhere. Samael or Samuel. Something like that. Must have died years ago.” It had looked as if she might say more, but she had pursed her lips and frowned in a way they knew was final. “Just stay away. Right away.”
There was no chance of that. They had crept over the wall again and seen her picking herbs in the forested garden. They had heard her muttering to herself and seen the tattered raven perched on the branch by her shoulder. It looked ancient; its eyes gleamed with knowledge, yet its feathers were torn and dusty. Beside it was the moth-eaten cat… black, with great yellow eyes. Listening, both of them. They had watched the old woman hobble back to the house, the long black skirts caught up to carry their harvest, the raven fluttering ahead, the cat at her heels and they had followed, creeping up to peer through the dirt-encrusted windows…
“I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help, officer. I hope you find them.” The policeman smiled back, fascinated by the curiously brilliant eyes and lustrous white hair. Unusual in one so young. “I seldom get visitors…” She laughed and gestured at the glossy feathered raven in its cage and the sleek black cat that wound itself insistently around his ankles. “Perhaps the locals think I am some kind of witch.”
“The Goddess Companion”
Anchises, seeing the Goddess, thought:
how marvelous she is, how astonishingly large,
how beautiful! And how well dressed!
She wore a robe so bright it flashed like fire,
and spiral bracelets and around her fair neck
necklaces so lovely they shone like to Moon
against her fair breasts – her breasts! How astonishing!
~ Greek Hymn to Aphrodite
The broad sweep of the earth, full with grain, is a beautiful sight. The grand vista of mountains, protecting the fruited plains, is a beautiful sight. Yet a large woman is, today, considered unsightly rather than beautiful.
In ages past, however, the Goddess was depicted in tremendously various ways. Sometimes she was a slight girl, sometimes a wrinkles matron; sometimes she was slender, sometimes robust. Women’s bodies, in their endless variation, deserve to be accepted and revered for their unique and individual beauty. Such an acceptance is extraordinarily hard to maintain in our culture, but until we can accept our bodies, we can not accept ourselves.
We are marvelous, we are astonishing, we are beautiful, just as we are.

Dragon Protection Spell
By Cerridwen Iris Shea
Late summer is a good time to do a protection spell or to renew previous protection spells. This simple spell can be layered over existing wards to reinforce them.
Gather these supplies:
* A black candle in a holder
* A small statue or picture of a dragon
Sit where you won’t be disturbed for thirty minutes. Light the candle, saying:
I ignite the dragon’s protection
for my home, inside and out.
Hold the statue or picture of the dragon. Close your eyes. Imagine protective energy originating in your ritual space and expanding outward, filling a sphere encompassing your home and grounds, above and below. Now imagine your dragon perched on top of the sphere, protecting it. Focus and hold the image as long as possible, then let it go.
Place the statue or picture in a prominent place in your home. This is where the protective energy is stored. You can tap into additional protective energy when necessary by looking or touching the dragon, or (if away from home) closing your eyes and visualizing the dragon extending protective energy to you wherever you are.
Planting Dimes for the Fae
By Raven Digitalis
Legend has it that faeries and other wee folk have a penchant for shiny things—especially dimes! Depending on the country in which you live, gather dimes or the smallest silver coins offered in your local currency. Shine up thirteen of these dimes (or other coins) with soap and water. Put these in your right-hand pocket and carry a small packet of honey with you to your favorite natural spot where you expect the wee folk to have a presence— ideally in your own garden, backyard, or neighborhood!
Legend also has it that we should offer gratitude to the fae in order to gain their protection or—at the very least—keep them from tricking us too severely. “Plant” the dimes in the earth by simply pushing them into the soil, and say this prayer:
Faeries true and faeries bright, I
thank you now with love and light.
Drip some honey on each planting, knowing that you are spreading a little astral light to inhabitants of a realm that can always benefit from a bit more respectful acknowledgment.
A Crystal Energy Drink
By Charlie Rainbow Wolf
No, this isn’t your morning smoothie! This is a gem elixir to help you get the most out of your day. You’ll need a small, clear drinking glass and a larger one; you’re going to put one inside the other. You’ll also need a gemstone. Select from the following list, or (if you’re experienced) use a stone you already work with.
* Carnelian: Energy and vitality
* Citrine: New beginnings
* Rose quartz: Universal love
* Sodalite: Cleansing and purification
* Amethyst: Peace and spirituality
* Tektite: Grounding and discipline
Place the stone in the smaller glass. Place the smaller glass in the larger one, and put some purified drinking water around it, but not too much— you don’t want the glass to float away!
Let this bathe in the sunlight for a day, then remove the smaller glass and drink the energy of the crystal and the life force of the sun.
Tie Up a Ribbon
By Charlynn Walls
The Festival of Diana began on this day in Rome. She was the goddess of the moon, animals, and the hunt. During this time, festival-goers would write their petitions and wishes on ribbons and tie them to trees. You can connect to those ancient energies and with Diana on this day.
Take your own piece of ribbon and write your petition or wish on it. Hold the ribbon in your hands and say:
Diana, goddess of the moon, take
my petition and give me a boon.
Now clear your mind and take a deep breath. While exhaling, feel your energy connecting to the ribbon. Tie the ribbon to a branch of a tree that you will pass by often, placing your intention into the universe.

Honey bees are associated with industriousness, productivity, teamwork, and business. Ethically collected honey is a perfect addition to spells for career advancement, finding employment, or just getting a lot of work done.
Place your jar of honey in the sun, and see how it glows with its own golden light. Imagine the sun beaming successful, industrious energy straight into the honey, heating it up with motivation and inspiration. With this strong, vibrant feeling in mind, use a permanent marker to write the words It is done! on the jar. You may choose different words to suit your specific situation, but this phrase covers the general sense of accomplishing work-related goals.
Set aside the jar of honey for days when you need an extra push to be productive at work, before a job interview, or when you are overwhelmed. Add it to your morning coffee, cereal, toast, or tea to fortify you for the day.

A quick and delicious means for gaining a bit of magical protection is to empower some popcorn kernels with protection energy and then pop them and eat the snack. Air-popped corn is preferred, but in a pinch, microwave popcorn will do.
To empower the kernels, hold them in your hands (or hold the microwave packet) and say:
To all who consume, your gift will be
sent, kernels of corn, protection imbue.
Magical energy freely lent, bursting
with power to protect and renew.
Pop the corn and enjoy it perhaps with a light sprinkle of salt, which will also lend protective qualities.
Technology Protection Spell
By Devin Hunter
With the sun and Mercury both in Leo now, it’s an excellent time to do magic that protects items of technology from mishaps such as viruses, theft, and damage. Cast this spell on your cell phone, tablet, and/or computer to harness the power of Leo to do just that.
You will need a piece of technology to enchant and four white candles in holders. Make a square with the candles, place the item of technology inside the square, then light the candles. Envision the astrological glyph for Leo (e) hovering above the technology and then slowly descending until it is finally absorbed by the item. As this happens, say:
In Leo, both now stand, the sun
and Mercury, hand in hand.
Aligned with the current astrology,
I command you to protect my technology!
Remove the item from the candles, but let them burn out safely on their own.

On the next rainy day, imagine the rain washing away and cleansing your emotional body.
There are times when we might feel the need to wash away all of our troubles and call forth freshness into our lives. Since perhaps the most cleansing substance on this earth is water, we can think of the joy rain brings as an energetic bath, rejuvenating our minds, bodies and souls. Just being able to spend a few moments every time it rains to become aware of the healing powers water brings to us can renew us in so many ways. As we do this we will find that the more we appreciate the universe’s gift to us in the form of rain, the more we can see that a gentle rain shower is a strong reflective tool that has the ability to cleanse our entire being.
The next time it rains might be a good chance to experience the rain through all of your senses, allowing you to truly understand just how truly important each and every drop of water is. First, take a few minutes to look outside and notice how each individual raindrop seems to come down in a continual stream. By noticing this you can contemplate how it takes many small accomplishments to create the whole of your existence, for nothing exists in isolation. Then you might wish to focus your attention on the sound of the rainfall, letting the sounds of drops penetrate into the innermost recesses of your self. Listening in this way may bring you a greater sense of connection with nature and the world around you, knowing that the sounds you hear are an integral part of not just the physical sustenance you require but also nourish your spirit as well.
Consciously using our senses to feel nature’s healing energy as it comes to us in the form of rain is an act of internal cleansing. Just as the rain physically washes over the earth and rinses out any impurities and imperfections, so it also bathes our spirit in the joy that comes from knowing that we are in fact one with the world around us.
Properties: Kyanite is considered the “Earth Stone” due to its soothing earth tone colors, as well as its grounding and tranquil nature. The healing benefits depend on the color it comes in. Blue Kyanite is most effective when placed on the Throat Chakra in order to open the throat for communication and self expression. On the Brow (Third Eye) Chakra, it enhances psychic images, foresight, consciousness and meditation. Kyanite is used to answer questions, especially in imagery, such as in vision, dreams or written interpretations. It brings out our natural ability to manifest things into reality via thoughts and visualization.
Folk Remedies: This stone is know for restoring energy balance and quickly creating tranquility due to the fact that it is an energy conduit.
Feng Shui: This stone is most often found in light blue and black, which are both the colors representing Winter, as well as water. Used in the Center direction, according to its “Mother Earth” reputation, it is ideal for grounding, balance and spiritual growth. It is also used in the North to create success. If you wish to effect change in your life, use this in the direction you need it most.
Crystal Cleansing: method 1 – 3 and method 5 – 7
History: Kyanite (Al2SiO5) is formed from Andalusite, (aluminosilicate family), which re-crystallizes when either a decrease in the temperature or increase in the pressure occurs during its creation. Its name comes from the same origin as that of the color cyan, being derived from the Ancient Greek word ??a???. This is generally rendered into English as kyanos or kuanos and means “dark blue”. This splintery stone is most often found in light blue and black and is a variety of the mineral, Disthene.
Kyanite is used primarily in refractory and ceramic products, including porcelain plumbing and dishware. It is also used in electronics, electrical insulators and abrasives.
Kyanite has been used as a semiprecious gemstone, which may display cat’s eye chatoyancy, though this use is limited by its anisotropism and perfect cleavage. Color varieties include recently discovered orange kyanite from Tanzania. The orange color is due to inclusion of small amounts of manganese (Mn3+) in the structure.
Special Note: these particular tumblestones were used by Andrew in a solemn spiritual ceremony in Paris. They were divined at a burial mandala for the infamous spiritist, Allan Kardec. You can read more about Andrew’s Lunch with Allan Kardec!
Properties: Black Kyanite is best used for grounding and balance at the Root Chakra. This is where it gets its “Mother Earth” reputation. Black Kyanite has the distinct priveledge of working to initiate kundalini energy from the root of the spine to the top of the crown. It is often found in a natural display resembling the coccyx, which is the triangular arrangement of bone that makes up the very bottom portion of the spine below the sacrum. It represents a vestigial tail, hence the common term tailbone. The root of kundalini energy starts in the lower sacrum and is encouraged by your mind and spirit to rise up and stimulate the energies of the major Chakra centers.

Action and Effect
By Madisyn Taylor
The principle of cause and effect is the truth that allows us to better ourselves and the world around us.
All motive and action affects the cosmos in some way. The principle of cause and effect is the truth that allows us to change ourselves and the world around us for the better. However, this same universal law is also at work when change is not at the forefront of our minds. Our intentions flow forever outward in the form of energy, affecting both the people closest to us and billions of individuals we will likely never meet. For that reason, we should strive always to speak, think, and behave with great thoughtfulness and compassion. The virtues we choose to embody can inspire joy and integrity in the lives of countless people, whether we touch their existence directly or not.
The influence we wield is infinite. In an effort to internalize our conscious understanding of the nature of cause and effect, we can never truly know how our thoughts, emotions, words, or actions will manifest themselves on the larger universal stage because it is likely that the farthest-reaching effects will fall outside the range of our perception. We can only look to the guidance of our conscience, which will help us determine whether each of our choices is contributing to humanity’s illumination or setting the stage for unintended troubles. When we are in doubt, we need only remember that the cultivation of altruism inevitably leads to a harvest of goodwill and grace. Motivated by a sincere desire to spread goodness, we will be naturally drawn to those choices that will help us express our commitment to universal well-being.
Nothing you do, however minor or mundane, is ever exempt from the rules of cause and effect. From the moment of your birth, you have served as an agent of change, setting forces beyond your comprehension into motion across the surface of the earth and beyond. You can exert conscious control over this transformative energy simply by examining your intentions and endeavoring always to promote peace, positive energy, and passion in your ideas and actions. While you may never fully comprehend the extent of your purposefully heartfelt influence, you can rest assured that it will be universally felt.
It was the morning after the night before. Gilberto awoke slowly, his bedside alarm clock read six-thirty. His body was coiled around Maria. She fit so well beside him. Her hips pressed against him; sunlight played across her face. She snuggled closer.
“Hi,” she whispered.
” You’re up too?” He wrapped himself around her.
“I think,” she smiled. I’m never really sure this early.”
She turned facing him. Very slowly her hand stroked his cheek.
He sighed. “I feel like a little kid.”
She snuggled next to him and kissed him tenderly. She looked into his eyes. Then she said. “I’m sorry to tell you that you have one of the most uncomfortable mattresses I’ve ever slept on. It sags in the middle.”
No one had ever told him that about his bed. It bothered him and his mind started working. “Ok, we need a new bed. Sky’s the limit. I’d like one that comes with a media package–speakers, the whole deal.
Maria frowned. “Huh? What are you talking about?”
“The new bed we’ll get. Ultra-modern. The head and feet lift …”
She smiled; ever-practical she said, “You don’t have to do that. I’ll sleep on your other side.”
Gilberto huffed. “No,” he said abruptly. “We’re getting a new bed.”
She laughed. “It sounds like it comes with its own amusement park.”
“It could,” he smiled. “I know some have hot plates and mini-fridge units so we’d never have to get out of bed unless we want to.”
She kissed him. “You’re always thinking. Let’s not think, just let ourselves be.”
He propped himself up on one elbow and smiled down at her. “Aren’t we?”
She shook her head. “What’s wonderful about you Gilberto is that you’re always turned on. I think having that fire is so cool. I don’t like thinking much this early.”
“Why so? Thinking pushes me into action. Now I know that after one night together you don’t like my bed. Is that something an engaged woman tells her man?”
“Yes, if she were being honest and wanted to avoid trips to the chiropractor.”
He stroked her back. “Show me where it hurts.”
“All over. What you’re doing feels nice.”
He loved stroking her. Her skin was so soft. “We may as well buy new bedroom furniture to go with our new bed. But first, we should probably have the room painted.”
She giggled. “You’re funny.”
“From a new bed to a newly painted bedroom and new furniture even before breakfast.”
He kissed the small of her back and pulled her closer. “Something contemporary that will match the bed.” Then as an afterthought, he said, “I guess we could hang Zorro and Cisco in Joey’s room.”
She giggled. “He’d love them. Then I won’t have some masked Latino Robin Hood staring at me. Maybe a pretty painting of flowers instead?” She squirmed closer to him, giggled again. “Do you always talk about new furniture when you’re feeling romantic?”
He looked puzzled. “Hadn’t thought about that. All I really want is to make you happy. Simple as that.”
“You are, you do.”
At that moment Joey and Oscar opened the door and came into the bedroom. “Where’s mom,” Joey asked. “She’s not in her bed.”
Oscar jumped on the bed licking kisses at Gilberto.
“No,” Gilberto said. “Off, now.”
Oscar seemed to understand. He whimpered. “Come on Oscar,” Joey said. “I think they’re still sleeping.
“Close the door, please,” Gilberto said. “We’ll be up soon. You can walk Oscar. I told the doorman you’d be down and he’ll keep an eye on you.”
Joey nodded. Oscar followed him out the door, tail wagging.
“I hope we can do this again,” Gilberto said softly kissing her.
She smiled. “You know we can. That’s what’s being engaged is all about.
“So, if we weren’t engaged,” he started to say.
She touched his hand. “Sometimes the most passionate people are the shyest.”
“Yes,” he nodded. “But I haven’t felt shy like this before. With you everything’s different. Trying to figure all that out.”
“Maybe that macho about you is melting. Maybe you don’t need it anymore, like taking off a wooly sweater when it’s warm. You and I have the fire. I can feel it so distinctly when you’re beside me.”
He nodded. “You think I’m macho?”
She laughed. “Once you let it be natural and don’t have to be the big macho seducer then your innocence comes out. So much to discover,” she said. ” The greater our intimacy, then the wilder and freer our abandon.”
He smiled. “So much I don’t understand. But I like the way I feel with you.”
She propped herself on her elbow and looked at the sun rising over the Charles. So much history in that river,” she said. ”
He smiled “We’ll throw an engagement party, rent a room at a hotel.”
She sighed. “I’ll invite my parents.”
Gilberto noticed a faraway distance in her voice. “No rush”, he said. “And only if you want to. When it comes to this whole social thing, you’re in charge.”
She pursed her lips and tilted her head. “I am, why?”
He grinned. “Because if I do it, I’ll invite five to six hundred guests.”
Her eyes widened. “You know that many?”
He nodded. “Old soccer league buddies, that’s over a hundred right there, plus those at Atlas.”
She put her head on his chest and curled closer beside him. “Morning kisses are the best,” she said.
She raised her eyebrows. “What are you thinking?”
“It’s nice to know you don’t have to go do your hair or wear any makeup. I fear I’m allergic to something in makeup. It makes me sneeze.”
She laughed. “Just soap and water.” She stretched. “How about breakfast? Pancakes?”
Tears filled his eyes. “‘it’s just so wonderful, everything. Oh, Maria, I love you so.”
“I suppose you’re right,” Maria said. “It’s only fair that we acknowledge our bonding.
Gilberto laughed. Marriage is just a word.”
Bit a bony word,” she said. Like having fish stuck in your throat.”
He laughed. If it was really that bad people would stop it altogether. Bit many many go to church and share vows.”
She nodded. Please don’t think I’m one of those radi8cal feminists, really I’m not.”
I don’t think that. I don’t see the point in getting all tripped up by words. Maria A man sees a woman and sees him and their souls bond and they have babies and that’s how the human rack kicked off. How long since we’d been creatures I’m not so sure.
She laughed. Oh Gilbertto you simplify everything. How can you be so at peace with the world?”
He grinned Soccer camp.”
She laughed more than that I’m sure. Oh yes, my parents are coming for a visit.”
My inlaws he thought. His last father in law was a fisherman whose daughter enticed Gioberrto until she ran off with the navy. This must be some sort of improvement. When
I’m not sure. The engagement party. I guess we could do lunch with them
Brave he smiled.
Joey came in
Grandma and Grandpa are coming,” Maria said.
His eyes lit up and he hugged his dog.
I think they’re as afraid of me as I’ve become of them. And I guess they’re good people. might be hard if their only daughter goes and has a kid liker buying a rosebush.
That’s what I mean about the demanding patricracy. But I must realize that it goes back in time so nobody knows what’s really going on.I’ve always tried to speak my truths
Maybe Grampa will give us cake. Gilberto laughed. Cake, it would be so simple if people ate cake making peace
Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, August 16, 2020

Good news! This week is more mellow than last week. The Moon will move through Cancer, Leo, Virgo and Libra. (The Moon changes signs every two and a half days; and when the Moon is in your own sign. your luck improves; however, your emotions are amped!) There are no grinding aspects between planets, which means we can choose what we want to do because we won’t be “reacting” to things. Incidentally, for those who have plans to begin something new and adventurous, please note the New Moon on Thurs. Sept 17 is a fabulous time to begin anything! Of course, each New Moon is good for beginnings, but this one is especially excellent. On that day, I will begin a new exercise regime. Every day, and counting to 50… I will do didley squats.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This continues to be a fabulous, playful week for you! Enjoy romantic interludes, fun activities with kids, vacations, picnics, barbecues, camping adventures and socializing with others – in person or online. (Do stay healthy.) You can be in touch with your creative vibes through music, writing, singing or creating anything with your hands. Grab every opportunity to express your talents! Midweek, a surprise might impact your home or your family. Very likely it will be pleasant. “What? For me?” For some, it might be a spontaneous get together at home. For others, it could be a real-estate opportunity. It’s a fun week and you are gung-ho for whatever comes your way!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Family discussions are lively this week! Definitely. Someone, and it could be a parent, has ideas! You might also tackle major repairs or home improvements, especially at the beginning of the week. This is a fine time to examine your personal and family life and make plans. You also might want to evaluate whether things are meeting your needs? Don’t let pressures build up within you. Speak up if you want to say something. Meanwhile, midweek, a delightful surprise will please you. Your social life might also pick up. Perhaps you will receive a fun invitation? Or it might be a gift from someone? Whatever happens makes you realize that you are loved. (Gosh.) We all want to be loved.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This continues to be a fast-paced time because you’re eager to get out and talk to others. You will love a short trip, especially for pleasure. You will also enjoy hanging out with younger people. It’s a great week for intellectual activities and sharing ideas. This is not the time to settle down and relax. Au contraire! Use this time to gather information and learn new things! Meanwhile, midweek, you might receive a gift or an unexpected goodie? You might get a raise or a job offer? Something unexpected will enhance your wealth or your assets. It could be minor or it could be major. Hey, everyone likes a gift, especially when they’re not expecting it. Meanwhile, competition with others will take place. “Go team!”
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You have money, earnings, cash flow and your belongings on your mind this week. For starters, you might have some wonderful, moneymaking ideas! If so, you won’t hesitate to express them to someone. Let us not forget that fiery Mars is at the top of your chart for the rest of the year arousing your ambition! (Oh yeah. You’re not sitting around getting dusty.) It’s possible that you are excited about a big purchase. Meanwhile, midweek, something will totally please you! It might be a spontaneous get together with friends, or a little vacation. It will be something to do with pleasure and fun and it will come right out of the blue! (This is still a great time to shop for wardrobe items for yourself.)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
At the beginning of this week, the Sun and Mercury are lined up in your sign, which means you want to talk to others! You will take the initiative! You might also be more involved with social media, writing notes and letters – as well as doing routine paperwork because your mind is so clear! Many will make lists and plans for the future because you’re pumped about life. (“Arriba!”) You have a strong desire to travel and get away. (Sadly, not easy during these times.) Nevertheless, find ways to shake up your routine and create some new stimulation in your life! Meanwhile, midweek, something unexpected and “hidden” will please you. It will be your own special secret.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Your research skills are fabulous, especially at the beginning of the week. If you’re looking for answers to old questions or solutions to old problems, you just might discover them. On Wednesday, your ruler Mercury enters your sign to stay for the next two weeks. This will make you more talkative than usual! You will want to express your ideas to everyone. In fact, this two-week interval will be excellent for teachers, salespeople and writers. Meanwhile, expect a lovely surprise from a friend or a member of a group midweek. You might meet someone, possibly a new romance? Someone might do you a favour or you might have a delightful time with someone. Cool!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Your popularity continues! Enjoy meeting new faces and talking to friends, especially younger people. (These discussions might influence your long-range goals.) With Mars still opposite your sign, you have to demonstrate patience when you feel annoyed with others. (This year is a great opportunity to cultivate patience.) Midweek, something delightful will happen. It could involve a parent or a boss. Someone might bestow honours or praise on you. It’s also possible you will develop a crush on a boss or someone in a position of power. You might be flattered because someone wants your advice about how to make something look better. It’s a pleasant, solid week!
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
You are high viz. for a number of reasons and people admire you! They’re impressed with your accomplishments and they respect you. (Do let this go to your head.) At the beginning of the week, your ability to talk to people in power is excellent. Monday and Tuesday are good days to ask for what you want or to get approval for something you want to do. Midweek, a sudden opportunity to travel for pleasure will fall in your lap. If you can do so – say yes! You might take advantage of a new opportunity in publishing, the media, the law or medicine and something to do with further training or education. Because you’re working hard – your chickens are coming home to roost!
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Let’s face it, you’re restless! You want something to happen. Ideally, you want to jet off somewhere thrilling and discover new ideas, meet new people and learn new things. Quite possibly, for some, this will be a reality. But most of you will have to generate your own enthusiasm for something new by shaking up your world a little and breaking free from your routine. Study, learning and writing will be solid choices. You might explore a new sport or physical activity because the placement of Mars for the rest of the year strongly supports this. It might competitive? Perhaps the martial arts? Midweek, expect a gift or a favour from someone that will delight you and arrive right out of the blue!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Issues on the home front or in your family are stalled and a bit perplexing. Just cope as best you can. Fortunately, when it comes to shared property, inheritances and insurance, you’ll have no trouble speaking up to defend your best interests. In fact, it will please you to do so! Others will be receptive to what you have to say because fair Venus is opposite your sign paving the way for all your communications. This is why discussions with others will be successful! (And of course, lucky Jupiter is still in your sign, which is a fabulous blessing!) Look for ways to hammer out favourable deals and wait for delays at home to ultimately manifest as you hope they will.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
With the Sun opposite your sign, you need more rest. However, this polarized position of the Sun also draws your attention to your closest relationships. Because you have more detachment, you can view these relationships with more objectivity. Because you see your style of relating to those who are closest to you, you can look for ways to improve how you relate. Meanwhile, midweek, a pleasant surprise related to your health, your job or a pet might materialize. Don’t worry if you have to go over something again or rethink something about siblings, relatives and neighbours. It might benefit you to have a sober, second thought.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
You’re still in work mode, and keen to get as much done as possible. Actually, you’re interested in how you work. You want to work smart. You want to be effective, efficient and productive! You want to get the most bang for your buck. Something related to earnings seems sluggish or stuck in the mud right now. Fortunately, your hard work will bring you rewards! Parties, fun activities with kids, vacations and the arts will please you. Romance might sizzle! This is encouraging. For the next two weeks, with Mercury opposite your sign you will enjoy opportunity to clarify and explain important things to others. Yada, yada, yada.
Weekly Horoscopes beginning Sunday, 16 August 2020
If you`re born within cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you`re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You`re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.
Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don`t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan..
Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19
Your horoscope for this week:
However clever you`ve been, it`s unlikely you`ll have escaped the events triggered by clashes between your ruler Mars and several of the planetary powerhouses. If any issues remain, deal with them right away, even if it means making compromises. Why? So, you`ll be free to shift your focus to the far more appealing, and potentially profitable ideas, events and offers currently coming your way.
Someone`s behaviour is puzzling you. You detect some negativity in a friendship or working relationship that has never been there before. Rather than trying to imagine what has caused it, ask what is wrong. If you ignore the problem, the tension between you could increase. Mid-August should not be an all work and no play time for you. If you have felt obliged recently to take on more commitments, find a way to reduce the load. Being assertive will make a difference to your future.
It might be as well to imagine yourself as a rally driver negotiating unexpected challenges. This could be super exciting. True, on at least one occasion it could feel as though you`ve driven down a cul-de-sac and have to reverse at speed. Yet if what you`re trying to show is just how fast your reactions are, you could excel. With Mars now moving through your sign, it`s as though you have a tiger in your tank. Showing others that you mean business, that you have the necessary prowess and courage brings out the best in you – though true, it might also put you on potential collision course with someone sharing the same aims (another Aries?).
Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20
Your horoscope for this week:
If ever there was a time to be open-minded, both to ideas you`ve previously dismissed but, as much to what`s as sudden as it is puzzling, it`s now. The trick is to explore absolutely everything, including what makes no sense in practical terms. The reason? You`ll learn from everything, so when you`re juggling actual offers, next week, you`ll be well informed and able to move swiftly.
Love is all around you. Bonds in a partnership are strengthened through the commitment you make to each other now. Friends make you feel special. Family let you know how much they love and need you. You feel like one of the most popular people in your social circle. You have been blessed with a vivid imagination. Putting your creative stamp on your work is a great way to utilise your imaginative powers.
Uranus, now moving through your sign, appears to stand still this weekend. To others it might seem as though you`ve done a complete U-turn. That may be made necessary – most likely because you feel your energy is not being put to best use. Recall that this year is unusual in that Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto were all grouped together at the very start of the year in another of the Earth signs. This signalled a goodbye to the past. By year-end, when Jupiter and Saturn align at the apex of your solar chart, embracing the future is imperative. These months are about negotiating the change. This week – as the Sun passes over the base of your solar chart, determining how best to use your assets: mental, physical and financial is likely necessary and yes, you may need to call a halt to certain proceedings that are costing you too much and at every level.
Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Judging by the current brilliant planetary setup, you`re discussing if not organising arrangements as exciting as they`ll be worthwhile. However, you could be taking it slowly, anxious about the nature or extent of those commitments. This once, think fast and focus on any details later. By mid-week, sudden developments will draw everybody`s attention elsewhere. Move swiftly and with conviction. You`ll be glad you did.
Everyday responsibilities are starting to get on top of you. It`s hard to be organised when you have so much to do. Delegate domestic chores to reduce household tasks. Ask for help from colleagues or let your boss know you are overworked. There`s a strong need for some caring companionship. When you feel lonely, reach out to friends. Take this opportunity to catch up with people in your social network even if you haven`t spoken to each other recently.
By next weekend, your ruling planet, Mercury, will have crossed into Virgo (another of the Mutable signs). It`s after that date that you are likely to be at your absolute best; happily multitasking. A strong possibility is moving items from one place to another – possibly preparing for a property move. Note that at this period in its cycle, Mercury is moving very fast. No doubt you`ll need to be quick on your feet as well. For the first half of the week, finding support ought not to be a difficulty. Those born under the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn may be particularly willing to help. Let them – but be prepared that they may have other challenges to face as of Thursday. It`s then that you will likely need to be truly versatile – at the same time showing others that you are a skilled negotiator and disseminator of information.
Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22
Your horoscope for this week:
For ages you`ve been debating what to do about certain potentially rewarding matters. These could involve anything from literal investments to decisions regarding your skills, and either developing or promoting them – and anything in between. Although you`d probably like advice as wise as it`s reassuring, judging by the rapid pace, you`d be better off making a commitment, if tentative, then refining those arrangements later.
You need to strike a better balance between your home and professional commitments. If you`re working at home, create an office that is separate from your living area. The fewer the disruptions the more productive you will be. Your ability to switch off from work at specific times is vital for your emotional well-being. Outstanding problems within the family can be resolved. There is plenty goodwill on all sides and this will encourage a pleasing resolution.
The theme this week concerns the written word. Take your time: you can afford to be careful. Fact is that others want to know the ideas you have been incubating in recent months and yes, you likely have been `incubating` and nourishing these. Presently, Mercury is moving quickly through neighbouring Leo, and just after Wednesday`s New Moon reaches Virgo. It`s then that you could dot the i`s and cross the t`s. Yes, editing should work well over Thursday and Friday. Career wise, this could yet prove a key week where you show just how carefully you husband resources of all kinds whilst showing just how determined you are to see a project that`s close to your heart realised before the end of the year. It`s entirely possible, that you are already tuning in to a new frequency and could yet be ahead of the game.
Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Even at your cleverest, it`s unlikely you`ll anticipate the breakthroughs triggered by Wednesday`s Leo New Moon. That`s because, mostly, it`s about the unexpected. What you can do, however, is focus on disentangling yourself from certain burdensome alliances or future plans. The more flexible both your perspective and your arrangements are, the more swiftly you can respond to the offers or ideas coming your way.
It doesn`t matter how skilful someone is at deceiving others, they aren`t going to find it easy to fool you. When someone implies you said one thing but you know you said another, you will not back down. Refusing to bow to peer pressure makes you highly respected. Your income is about to receive a boost. This could come as a bonus for some past hard work or a rise in salary you hadn`t been expecting. Either way, it will be a welcome surprise.
It`s easy to draw the conclusion that a New Moon is the perfect time for a fresh start. We know though, that it takes a little while for the energy to build. So perhaps you shouldn`t expect too much from Wednesday`s New Moon in your sign. Plans and ideas aired before then probably do have mileage but could take a couple of months to develop. For now, it may be imperative to `finish up the past` and tidy up a few loose ends. Yes, tedious as that may be, 2020 is the year for accepting conclusions and then building on strengths that have been hidden. What`s most interesting, is that at least one of these may been identified by a teacher (or Sagittarius) who is convinced that you have much to offer and is happy to T the pathway to gaining more expertise.
Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22
Your horoscope for this week:
You don`t think of yourself as a control freak and, mostly, your obsession is more on quality and getting things right than ensuring what`s being organised is done the way you want; but now, you`re being forced to rely on others or, possibly, existing arrangements, or risk certain appealing options vanishing, possibly overnight. This approach isn`t your style but, this once, it`s your best bet.
A senior colleague is on a power trip. They will issue orders you find unfair and unreasonable and they`re treating you very unprofessionally. Complaining isn`t likely to make much of a difference and will only make them even more overbearing. It might be better to channel your frustration into searching for another job. Your social is livelier than usual. Someone who was once a big part of your life will contact you via Facebook or Twitter.
It might seem that others are determined that your sole role in life is to clean up their mess. That may be particularly true after Wednesday`s New Moon. It`s likely imperative then that if you do have plans of your own to follow through, that you get these kickstarted very early in the week. True, this is at the end of the lunar cycle but, if you don`t put down some kind of marker, then these dreams will likely never develop. It`s just possible that with so much being thrown at you, – and from every possible direction, – that your nervous system will be overstretched by the weekend (and your birthday month). It would be wise therefore to ensure that you take adequate time out to relax and yes, perhaps renew contact with an Aries whose behaviour at times might baffle you, but who might yet have the energy to give you support.
Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Since early August you`ve been discussing arrangements as exciting as they are promising; and, judging by the planetary setup, there are several. Typically, you`d debate at length, discussing options with those whose advice you trust and working out your own priorities. This once, move swiftly, making it clear you expect to refine arrangements once you know more. You`ll soon realise how wise this strategy was.
You are tired of going with the flow and agreeing to other people`s suggestions. Ideas someone makes to sound like fun often turn out to be the opposite. It won`t suit you to go along with the crowd now. You have your own plans and you aren`t going to let anyone talk you out of them. Your body cries out for pampering. Make time for a little self-indulgence. Luxuriate in a scented bath or make your favourite meals and desserts.
Every so often there are sharp reminders that Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto all aligned at the base of your solar chart at the beginning of the year. Though these planets are separated by some degrees, every so often there is an echo of the need to restructure. Expect to hear that echo following Wednesday`s New Moon. Anticipate too, that you may be self-critical about what you haven`t yet managed to achieve – both in terms of space clearing and preparing and adapting to new ways of working and living. It might help to take time out in the first half of the week to stock-take. Then, following the New Moon and, most likely by partnering with someone who also wants to clear the decks, conclude the week having made significant progress.
Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21
Your horoscope for this week:
During much of August`s first half, you`ve been faced with situations as complex as, often, they were puzzling. The real problem was, you had little time to gather facts, so often had to rely on others` guidance or simply trust your instincts. Even now, you`re recognising things are working out far better than you imagined possible. Be as courageous this week. You won`t regret it.
You need more excitement. Life lacks in variety, fun and entertainment. You`re starting to wonder whether there are better avenues to explore. You won`t change the status quo without putting thought into what you are doing but you are ready for a change. A colleague is constantly talking down at you. You`ve had enough of the way they keep ordering you about and you`re ready to tell them where to go.
Until Thursday, Mercury is moving relatively quickly and across the apex of your solar chart. If you need to get your message across; as to what it is that you want to now achieve and plans you want to build on, this should be your moment. True, at this stage of the lunar phase, you may hard to find the window of opportunity to make your case. Yet those who have been discomfited by events might now be ready to listen and explore possibilities of working with you. You too may be ready to think slightly `out of the box` and, before the weekend, accept that one project simply has to be concluded, but that there are yet ways in which another could be initiated.
Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21
Your horoscope for this week:
Usually you`re easy-going about changes, in your way of living, working or ongoing arrangements. Recently, however, destiny has taken over and, in an unsettling, if not heavy-handed manner. While, initially, you weren`t happy about these developments, you`re now recognising how good they are. That`s fortunate, because more of the same is coming, except these are about taking that leap of courage you`re always talking about.
It is time to reconnect with your inner self. You`re doing some deep thinking. Out of this the real you will eventually emerge. To find out who you are, you don`t have to reduce family or social commitments or turn anyone away. Just put some time aside to sit quietly and reflect on where you are and where you want to go. If there are problems in a partnership, you aren`t talking enough to each other. Have a heart to heart with your amour.
It`s probable that others need your energy, enthusiasm, advice and yes, perhaps even practical support. Initially it`s all about you talking through plans. Grounding these is unlikely to happen until after Wednesday`s New Moon. There is also the issue of how to preserve assets and preserving precious working contacts. Those you haven`t seen or heard from some time could renew contact; but yes, you`re right, they probably want something. It is perhaps your understanding of the background of a situation that is now even more valuable than it once was. In fact, your input would surely assist someone greatly in negotiations. It`s probable that your input will affect their decision-making process.
Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19
Your horoscope for this week:
Although the recent powerful series of eclipses took place well over a month ago, you`re still exploring both the unsettling changes and new ideas they triggered. However, it`s time to move on from considering various possibilities, which has become an excuse for doing nothing. Deep down, you know these options, and there are several, are in your best interests. You need only go for it.
You`re stuck in a rut and unless you make an effort to break out of it, this pattern will go on into the foreseeable future. Changes made this week will bring improvements into your life. Since this will also bring increased security and job satisfaction, let others see you are happy to go with the flow. An older relative`s behaviour is becoming oppressive. Stand up for yourself and don`t be reluctant to use the `no` word it will work wonders.
Until Wednesday`s New Moon, and although many ideas a be banded about, progress is unlikely. In fact, it could be early next week before you feel that there`s been progress. In part this could be down to the fact that a task that began over a year ago is still not completed. Whilst it might seem preferable to you to start afresh, it may be that you need to make the best of a bad job. Throughout all this, you could impress someone who underestimated the task in the first place or who miss directed it believing someone to be more competent that they are. Before the weekend you may need to access any latent diplomatic skills.
Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18
Your horoscope for this week:
Usually, you make decisions swiftly. However, you`re still wrestling with the ideas, offers or potential changes triggered by the Aquarius Full Moon in early August. Your concern isn`t the actual situations but that you sense you`re moving into a new, and somewhat unsettling, chapter of your life. That`s true. The real problem is, you won`t know how fantastic it is until you`re actually involved.
Even if you have known someone for years, experiences you now share will make you feel you are getting to know them all over again. New joint responsibilities will keep the pair of you motivated. It will be a pleasure to work with someone you can trust. Let your zest for action go to your head during activities with lively friends. Don`t be surprised if someone starts watching you with a romantic twinkle in their eye.
This week`s New Moon is in your opposite sign and at one level it might feel as though everyone else is headed off in fresh direction and you will be left behind. That`s unlikely to be the reality. It may be that you need to put your own house in order – health included, – before you can join in on a mission. You won`t be the only sign of the zodiac involved in clearing things up and yes, perhaps even being involved in a patch and mend project. This though, may be necessary as you determine what space: physical, mental, energy and financial is available before launching another project next month.
Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20
Your horoscope for this week:
The coming weeks won`t be easy. That may not sound like good news, however, things moving swiftly and, often, events not being in your hands, you could worry. While that`s understandable, think of times when you`ve moved into a new home, endured the chaos, then settled in happily. Now, it`s about elements of your life, and that glorious settled feeling will come with early September Pisces Full Moon.
Stop cleaning up after everyone. Both at work and in the home, get others to tidy up after themselves. When you start on the housework, ask for help to clean, cook and do the laundry. If anyone implies, they don`t know what to do, make them a list of chores. This will make the job faster and more enjoyable. A younger friend or colleague is looking to you for guidance. Having you as their mentor fills them with a sense of certainty and security.
Don`t underestimate your incredible sensitivity. You could easily tune into dramas that are brewing but not yet obvious to all. This week`s New Moon is in Leo. You may find individuals born under that sign or its opposite, Aquarius, prickly and difficult to deal with. It`s entirely possible that they feel overwhelmed. It may be that they`re brimming with ideas but lack the resources (energy especially), to carry these through. This is where your wonderful gift for play comes in. You could ensure that a tiresome task becomes a pleasurable activity. The creative way in which you use space, – or even suggest how unwanted items can be recycled – should bring you many compliments and perhaps yes, an invitation to be involved in a new venture.
