Light A Candle Today!

In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

Full Moon in Capricorn July 5, 2020
Living with Moon Magic Patty Shaw

Our theme for this month is “work the plan”. Perfect for a Capricorn Full moon experiencing a lunar eclipse. One thing you can count on right now is an extra push to act on whatever you are hesitating over. Get your parachute on and enjoy the ride this July 4th weekend, as shocking as it may seem in the moment.

Next week you will be happy it happened.
A Capricorn moon is the boss of everything. It works hard and will not rest until you are working hard all the way to goal achievement. How else can you reach your potential? It’s all for your own good after all.

Let’s do a candle ritual with some Coventry products to help soften the blow of this Capricorn Full Moon.

You will need a Blessed Herbal Stability candle, Chakra Magic Success spray, Chakra Magic Confidence candle, paper, pen, and two candleholders. Before the Full Moon, say around July 2nd or 3rd, identify what you are avoiding or hesitating on. Write that down. Next, write out all the things that you are afraid of or consequences you are trying to avoid. Fold it up and place it under the candle holder holding the Blessed Herbal Stability candle. Light the candle and recite the blessing from the label or say one of your own. (Please remove all packaging and never leave a burning candle unattended). Know that all your fears are being grounded into the earth and your energy is becoming more stable because you have let these fears go.

On a separate sheet of paper, write out all the good that will come of this change or event. If you don’t know, write this down instead, “something good will come of this, but I don’t know what it is yet. I am open to receive all the blessings and opportunities this change will bring.” Spray the Chakra Magic Success spray on this paper. Fold up the paper and put it under the candle holder holding the Chakra Magic Confidence candle. Light the candle and recite the blessing from the label or say one of your own. (Please remove all packaging and never leave a burning candle unattended). Know that all is well and you will be successful. Open your mind to the silver lining of the situation and that all your hard work will pay off. Surrender to divine timing and release all stress, worry, procrastination, and sabotage. Affirm that you are working the plan and the plan is working. Now go have some fun this weekend.

The summer skies will light up on July 4/5, 2020 in Capricorn. The power of this full Moon is going to magnify the high pitched emotions in the United States. So be prepared for things to be rocky throughout the next coming month. Continue practicing precautions with the COVID-19 situation. Not only protect yourself from the virus, but protect yourself from the high emotions that are going to come into play this full Moon. I recommend you stay home and make sure you have a good supply of food and water at home. This is a time that America celebrates its independence, but it’s also going to be a time of great social unrest. Any celebration you want to do for Independence Day please do it at home. Stay safe my friends.

July and August always seem to be a time when the portal from the demonic world opens up and unleashes its fury on the world. This will be true once again this year. With so much heightened emotion, it’s really important that you keep yourself surrounded and protected in the Divine Light and do not fall victim to the negative emotions that will impact the world.

With Mercury being retrograde emotions are extremely heightened and it’s important you be aware of the planetary aspects that are causing you to feel more emotional than normal. Do your best to not overreact. I know that sometimes easier said than done, but you are of the light and can change your part of the world by your actions and emotions. Again take time to disconnect from everything and go inside yourself and find the peace within.

I believe there are people out there who want to hear what I am saying about bringing peace and light within you. This is the only way to true freedom and independence. The things that we complain about we can change. It’s being willing to really examine yourself and fully evolve into a peaceful being. In today’s world that’s not easy to do because it’s all about constant invasion of your privacy. People are connected to their phones and other Electronic Devices and have forgotten how to just be. My goal on this planet is to somehow reach a few people and help them wake up. I believe there are those who really want a different life and are willing to make the changes. The change you make within you will manifest outwardly.

This month’s full Moon brings with it a penumbral eclipse, which occurs when the Moon crosses through the faint outer edge of Earth’s shadow (the penumbra), making part of the Moon appear ever-so-slightly darker than usual. Unlike a full lunar or solar eclipse, the visual effect of a penumbral eclipse is usually so minimal that it can be difficult to perceive at all. For this eclipse, only a small portion of the Moon will cross into the penumbra, making it even more difficult to see.

The full moon in July represents what many natives call “Thunder Moon”, since July is a time when rains and downpours appear allowing Mother Nature to give her wrath to people who mistreat her. At the same time, being so merciful, she would provide support and fostering to drought and feeding her playground through surges of water.

Since July is normally the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur, the full moon of this moon is called the Full Buck Moon. Another name for this month’s Moon was the Thunder Moon. This will be a month with a lot of explosive situations continuing throughout the United States. Again keep yourself protected spiritually and physically.

The best way to express your feelings is through prayer and meditation. I believe in praying for the planet and the United States as well as meditating on peace. We are the instruments of peace and we have to show that to the world.

The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between roots and direction. With the Moon full symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves in a peaceful manner.

Take time to pray and visualize what you want during this full moon.

This is a good time to cleanse and charge your crystals under the Sun during the day and the Moon by night.

This will be a perfect night to do a Burning Bowl Ceremony. Release what you no longer need and allow the new into your life.

July Elements To Work With.

Herbs: honeysuckle, lemon balm, hyssop
Colors: Silver, Blue-gray
Flowers: Lotus, Water Lily, Jasmine
Scents: Orris, Frankincense
Stones: Pearl, Moonstone, White Agate
Trees: Oak, Acacia, Ash
Animals: Crab, Turtle, Dolphin, Whale
Birds: Starling, Ibis, Swallow
This is a great time to do Dream-work and meditation on goals and plans, especially spiritual ones.

Full Moon Ritual

Our ancestors used spiritual baths or sweat lodges during the full moon. Water is a medium that can transfer energy. I find that using 1/2 lb. of Epsom salts in the water helps to cleanse the spiritual body. During a spiritual bath, you need to slow down, take a deep breath, feel the water around you, let it wash and cleanse every part of you. Let it carry the hurts, aches, negativity, grief, rejection, etc down the drain. Feel its strength and purity. Feel the water surround you, comfort you. Let it rebirth you.

It is beneficial to have an in-depth spiritual reading every moon cycle. Since every moon cycle represents a change, it not only affects our external forces but our internal forces as well.

Full Moon Blessings,
Cherokee Billie

Heartwings Love Notes 938:
Let’s Keep America Beautiful

Heartwings says, “Caring for the environment and our planetary resources is one of the most patriotic things we can do.”

Being patriotic is a way to show our love for our country. To my way of thinking one of the best ways we can do that is by showing respect for as well as taking care of the environment. Some can do more than others yet everyone can do a little. Recycling is important, as is reducing waste. Bringing our own bags into stores once we are allowed to do so again is another. Conservation of resources is vital to the health of the planet, as is avoiding leaving our waste around.

Some ways to care for the environment come naturally to me: Because I was brought up to be neat and tidy, it’s easy for me not to litter. I’d no more throw trash away on the sidewalk or worse, in the woods, than I would throw it on my living room floor. Like me, those who see the earth as their home tend to treat her differently than those who do not. They treat her and her resources with respect and gratitude. They treat her like the home she is.

Those people are setting an example for others. I believe that is one of the best things we can do to be of help in the world. Teaching by example is an extremely important way to prompt others to improve their behavior. Often what people are told goes in one ear and out the other; what they have experienced is more powerfully remembered. It is important to show our patriotism on an everyday basis. One simple way is to turn off the water faucet when it is running unnecessarily.

I thought about this one day recently while I was brushing my teeth. I try to remember to shut off the water after I have wet my toothbrush and filled the little cup I use for rinsing. I also try to shut off the kitchen faucet at intervals as I wash dishes: between pots, for instance, or when I am drying anything. There is a true story called the Hundredth Monkey of how monkeys on an island washed their food. Somehow the habit spread between islands that had no contact. This occurred when the critical number of food washing monkeys had been reached. Perhaps if we all contribute to the consciousness of conservation, one day everyone will take care with our precious environment, and the earth will truly thrive.

May you remember to take care of our precious home, Planet Earth.

Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert

Moon Gardens
By Madisyn Taylor

A whole other world exists in the light of a moon-filled night that few of us even notice.

In the height of summertime’s heat, we drift outdoors at dusk to refresh ourselves in the temperate air of the evening. Cricket song and the glow of fireflies come together with ever-lengthening shadows to create a natural symphony of overlapping sensations that invigorate the body and gladden the soul. As the sun sets, the vivid colors of most flowers and leaves fade, becoming a dull grey, but moon gardens provide us with a space to appreciate Mother Nature’s bounty long after the light of day has retreated. Designed to be enjoyed from dusk until the coming of the darkness, these gardens serve as a perfect complement to silvery moonlight, mild summer nights, and the spirit of rejuvenation.

Most plant life worships the sun, but a select few shrubs and flowers come into their own in luna’s glow. The silvery leaves of lamb’s ears and artemisia reflect the radiance of the moon, while the bright-white flowers adorning yucca and evening primrose seem to shimmer brilliantly in dusk’s gloom. Certain blossoms such as the moonflower and four o’clocks open only at night, releasing their sweet fragrances in spectacular displays of scent and beauty. While creating a moon garden, remember to take each human sense into account. We appreciate the ghostly beauty of nighttime nature best when we can sit comfortably until our eyes have adjusted to the surrounding darkness. Bamboo and thick grasses make a comforting sound when bandied about by gentle nighttime breezes.

Transforming a portion of your existing yard or patio into a moon garden is simple, and the pleasure you will derive from your nighttime retreat will become worth it once you start to enjoy it. Green spaces come alive at night when nocturnal blossoms release their perfume into the air and ethereally lovely and luminous foliage dances in the breeze. In a moon garden, relaxation is a simple matter of attuning yourself to the stillness of evening and seeing, for the first time, the myriad shades of beauty that can be found in the darkness.

Llewellyn’s Spell-A-Day

Balancing Act
July 05, 2020 By Charlynn Walls

The energies of the full moon are at the forefront today. It is also a Sunday, which means that you can tap into the energies of the sun. Today you can work to bring balance into any aspect of your life.

You will want to call on the moon and sun to help you in this endeavor while working to literally balance some object. It could be stacking stones or balancing a pen on your forefinger. While you are working to bring about a physical manifestation of your desire, say:

Help me find my balance today, as
the moon and sun both hold sway.

Repeat this verse until you are able to balance the object you are working with.
Personal Independence Day Spell
July 04, 2020 By Cerridwen Iris Shea

In the United States, it’s Independence Day and a perfect time to declare your personal independence from something that is holding you back.

Gather these supplies:
* White paper
* A red pen
* A white candle in a holder
* Matches or a lighter
* A blue ceramic dish

Pick one thing in your life from which you wish to declare your independence. Write it on the paper in red ink.

Light the candle, saying:

This flame represents the
spark of liberty.

Carefully touch the paper to the flame and say:

I declare my independence
from (what’s written).

Drop the paper into the dish and watch it burn to ash. Scatter to the winds. Let the candle burn down on its own if possible.

Repeat the declaration if you feel pulled back into a negative pattern.
A Rain Blessing
July 03, 2020 By James Kambos

We complain about rain, but we need it to survive. During July’s heat, it’s a good time to show your appreciation for rain by performing a rain blessing. You’ll need a rainy day and your cauldron. When rain is forecast, place your cauldron outdoors in a safe place.

When the rain is done, sit before your cauldron, preferably outside. Anoint your forehead with a drop of the rainwater. Then hold your hands over the cauldron and say this blessing:

Sweet rain, thank you for
falling, each and every drop.
Sweet rain, thank you for watering
the earth and every crop.

When done, you may use the rainwater to cleanse your ritual tools. End by pouring the remaining rainwater onto a favorite plant.
A Spell to Increase Self-Love
July 02, 2020 By Raven Digitalis

Let’s be honest: we all struggle with self-esteem from time to time. Witches, Wiccans, Pagans, and other metaphysical folk tend to be quite sensitive to energies—and most certainly to the emotional energies of others. Even some of the least empathic people among us can sometimes carry the weight of others’ judgments for years or even a lifetime, sometimes unconsciously!

As difficult and even painful as it can be, we must all learn to love ourselves for who we are. There is always room for self-improvement, but we as magickal workers have a responsibility to care for ourselves and inspire this same care in others.

Get a small, fancy piece of paper that you can easily carry in your wallet or bag after the spell has been cast. In a sacred space (whether at home at your altar or in a spot in nature), carefully draw one small drop of blood from your body (such as with a sterile needle) and place it in the middle of the paper. Strongly press this droplet with the ring finger of your right hand, leaving your fingerprint in the center.

Around the fingerprint, draw images of smiley faces, hearts, and other symbols and words that you associate with love. Speak these words three times:

Love above, love below, love
within, and love without.
(Your name), I love you.

Keep this spell in your wallet, bag, pocket, car, or otherwise on your person whenever possible.
Confidence Candle
July 01, 2020 By Susan Pesznecker

Self-confidence is essential to a happy life, and we can always use more of it. You can make a candle to boost your confidence.

You’ll need:
* A light-colored pillar candle and holder
* A sharp nail, skewer, or large metal darning needle
* A fine-tipped permanent marker
* A candle extinguisher

Make a quick list of things that make you feel confident, your successes, or times you’ve felt extra-capable. Using your sharp tool, inscribe these into the candle, filling the space from top to bottom. Once you’re done, use the marker to fill in the etchings, making them stand out.

Place the candle in a holder on your altar and light it. Intone:

With the rising candle flame, faith
in myself is deeply ingrained.

Meditate on your confidence! Then extinguish the flame, saying:

As I put the candle out, so I
extinguish worry and doubt.

Use your candle whenever you need a boost of confidence.
Throw the Potato Away Spell
June 30, 2020 By Ari Mankey

Try as we might, none of us are probably ever going to be universally loved. There’s always that one person out there who might be jealous of our accomplishments or simply likes to cause trouble. When those types of folks won’t leave you alone, it’s time for a magickal remedy. All this spell requires is a small potato, a writing instrument, and a body of water.

Start by writing the name of the person bothering you on your potato. You can do this with a magickal tool or even a ballpoint pen! Surround their name with thoughts like leave me alone, go away, bother someone else, and with harm to none. (You want them gone, but there’s no reason to hurt them.)

When you’re done writing on your potato, throw it into the ocean, a river, or a lake, visualizing that person flying out of your life.
Garden Joy Spell
June 29, 2020 By Cerridwen Iris Shea

The gardens are beautiful now! What a wonderful time to enjoy them. If you have your own garden, be it a traditional one or a container garden, spend some time weeding, trimming, arranging, and giving your plants love and attention. Replant in decorative pots, add sparkly stakes, or build a fairy garden. Talk or sing to your plants, telling them how much you appreciate them.

When you’ve put in some work, sit down among your tended plants and meditate. Feel the sun on your skin and enjoy the scent of grass and blooms and herbs. Let the joy of growth refresh your spirit.

If you don’t have a garden, visit one. Go to a local park or botanical garden, a historic house/garden, or even a garden store. Walk among the plants. Learn their names. Breathe in their scents. Let their energy fill you with pleasure.

Using Yourself as a Pendulum
By Madisyn Taylor

Using your body as a pendulum is another tool you can use to access your higher wisdom.

Learning to trust our intuition is something that can connect us with our higher selves. Sometimes it might not seem easy to do this. Our thoughts and minds often get in the way. But by accessing our innermost self, we will find that the information we receive is usually what we truly need at that moment. One of the techniques that allows us to really get in touch with our deepest font of wisdom is using our body as a pendulum. The simple act of letting our physical being lead us in a certain direction can offer us extremely deep insights and help us find the answers we seek.

Many of us may have tried using a pendulum or crystal on a chain as a dousing tool to acquire the information we need to make decisions or even find lost objects. Using our bodies puts us much more closely in tune with our being. The process of using your body as a pendulum is to ask your higher self a question and wait for your body to respond in either a forward-tilting or backward-tilting motion. The first step is to really understand how our higher self communicates with us by centering our bodies, asking ourselves the directions for “yes” and “no,” and noting which way our body moves. For a lot of people a forward motion is “yes,” and your body tilting backward is a “no” answer. It is easier to start with simple questions at first to understand how our higher self communicates with us. As we become more used to the messages we receive and how we process them, we can start asking for more specific things such as what dosage of herbs to take or which foods would best nourish our bodies. Using this technique in the grocery store or when shopping for vitamins and remedies can be extremely helpful.

Since we are always present in our bodies, understanding how we can use our bodies as pendulums is a tool we can use at any given moment in our lives. Letting our bodies tell us what is happening inside of us will in turn help to guide us through not just daily but also major life decisions. The more we allow our bodies to open up and share with us the connection it has with our deeper self, the better able we will be to truly access the knowledge we hold so deeply within.

Can Cats Tell Human Babies From Grownups
by Feral Cats Videos

Yes! Cats can tell the difference between human babies and adults. How can you tell?

Cats are scared of babies

I used to work in a household with a cat who didn’t make too much of a fuss whenever a stranger showed up on the doorstep, but once a woman had brought her toddler, and the cat had leapt on the dresser and stared at the toddler with huge, scared eyes. Cats realize babies are likely to play rough or pull their tails. They must realize toddlers and babies don’t have the common sense adults do.

Cats know what kittens are

Since cats can tell the difference between kittens and grown cats, cats should be able to tell the difference between human babies and adults. And cats are much more tolerant toward kittens than they are toward grown cats. You see grown feral cats fighting all the time, but I haven’t seen an adult cat attacking a very young kitten. And cats adopt orphaned kittens and other orphaned cubs, so they must know they’re helpless and they’re babies. They don’t adopt grown cats.

Can cats tell the difference between human adults and babies

Similarity between cubs of all species

Pups and kittens and human babies are all small, playful, a bit hyper, easily excited, and have a tiny voice. Watch the way human babies sway when they first learn to walk. This is the way young kittens who’d just learned to walk stumble. Pups tend to bite playfully, kittens scratch, and human babies pull hair and cats’ tails. I’ve once seen a kitten leap on two and clap his paws on both sides of his mother’s face. Cats can tell the difference between adult humans and babies humans because toddlers act in the same curious, playful way kittens do.

Also, human babies sound like kitten when the cry, and I’m sure it’s not lost on the cat. They’re much smarter than we give them credit for.

You Have All the Answers Within You
By Madisyn Taylor

When you realize that you always have the answers within yourself, you can stop searching outside of yourself.

Many of us seek the answers to life’s questions by looking outside of ourselves and trying to glean advice from the people around us. But as each of us is unique, with our own personal histories, our own sense of right and wrong, and our own way of experiencing the world that defines our realities, looking to others for our answers is only partially helpful. The answers to our personal questions can be most often found by looking within. When you realize that you always have access to the part of you that always knows what you need and is meant to act as your inner compass, you can stop searching outside of yourself. If you can learn to hear, trust, and embrace the wisdom that lives within you, you will be able to confidently navigate your life.

Trusting your inner wisdom may be awkward at first, particularly if you grew up around people who taught you to look to others for answers. We each have exclusive access to our inner knowing. All we have to do is remember how to listen. Remember to be patient as you relearn how to hear, receive, and follow your own guidance. If you are unsure about whether following your inner wisdom will prove reliable, you may want to think of a time when you did trust your own knowing and everything worked out. Recall how the answers came to you, how they felt in your body as you considered them, and what happened when you acted upon this guidance. Now, recall a time when you didn’t trust yourself and the results didn’t work out as you had hoped. Trusting your own guidance can help you avoid going against what you instinctively know is right for you.

When you second guess yourself and go against what you know to be your truth, you can easily go off course because you are no longer following your inner compass. By looking inside yourself for the answers to your life’s questions, you are consulting your best guide. Only you can know the how’s and why’s of your life. The answers that you seek can be found when you start answering your own questions.

Gilberto’s Search
by Stephen Halpert

Jack Slats was personnel director for Atlas. He had hired Gilberto close to eight years ago and watched him advance to director of shipping. Now the two sat across from one another in Jack’s fancy office.
“So you see Gilberto, I’d like to see you as one of our national managers. You’re smart, efficient and good at saving Atlas money.” He paused and fidgeted. “There is just one thing…”
Gilberto leaned in to hear what was coming next. “Yes?”.
“Quite simply,” Jack began, “all our national managers are married– family men.”
Gilberto nodded. “Yes, and I want to find a wife but she has to be the right woman.”
“Of course,” he gave Gilberto his best man to man grin. “Go find her Gilberto. The recommendations go before the Board in two months. I’d like to be able to say that like the other candidates, you’re at least engaged.
He nodded. “I’ll do my best.” He sounded hopeful. “It isn’t easy.”
“Oh, I know,” Jack said. “But these days there’s a zillion on line dating sites. Create a profile, post it and watch women come knocking at your door.”
“You mean there are agencies that help someone like me find a wife? A real American woman, not some sort of spy from Russia?”
“Many,” Jack said. “Sign up with a few and start getting pictures and profiles.”
Gilberto nodded. “I will. Tonight, as soon as I get home.”
What stumped him how he could accurately describe himself. All he really wanted was a pleasure-seeking wife: faithful, attractive and a good cook who would give him his six sons, but he did his best.
The initial responses didn’t work well at all. Several women he heard from appeared bossy and domineering. Several others appeared terribly overweight and out of shape.
He finally decided to respond to a full-figured blond who enjoyed shopping, fudge sundaes, and like him, wanted a family.
He took a deep breath, picked up the phone and called her. “Hi I’m Gilberto, from the on-line seeking matrimony site. Is this Marleen Chaser.”
“Oh hello; happy to hear from you. You’re seriously looking for a wife and mother for our children?”
“Yes,” he agreed. “For sure.”
“That’s so sweet. Your wanting children. So many men haven’t that paternal sense about them. Believe me it’s rare today for men to want to embrace the full benefits of fatherhood.”
“Not me,” he assured her. “Sons! I want six, maybe even seven sons.” Uh oh, he thought, hope I’m not saying too much too soon.
But instead of responding with anything negative, she chucked. “That’s so sweet to hear you say. Most men don’t even know how to change a diaper.”
He didn’t see himself ever changing diapers. That, he believed wasn’t part of the job description of fatherhood.
She sighed, and he could sense her approval. “Tell me something: one of my great passions is shopping. Have you ever spent an entire day going from mall to mall? She lowered her voice. “Shopping is so orgasmic.”
He smiled. She sounded like fun.
“We really must meet,” she went on, “But I must warn you, Gilberto I’m a sensualist by nature. I want my man ready for me.”
Oh, I’ll be ready,” Gilberto reassured her. He looked dreamily at her photos: a busty, streaked blond, bright, dark eyes, firm arms, long strong legs, classic cheekbones. Realizing she was speaking, he came to.
“I’d like us to meet,” she was saying. “Until we’ve had a real look at one another and checked out the chemistry, it’s all speculation. But I do think you appear to be absolutely adorable, with that naughty boy look some women can’t get enough of.”
He laughed. “You think I’m naughty?”
That made her laugh. “It’s in your eyes Gilberto. That devil may care savoir-faire. You’d be so wonderful to come home to at the end of the day.”
But wouldn’t I be coming home to you? I’d be working.”
Oh, yes,” she chucked. “Working here at home, cooking their meals, overseeing their bathing, getting them to doctors’ appointments on time, homeschooling. Truly Gilberto, a father’s work is never done.”
He frowned. “But I work. I’ve a good job at Atlas. Good pay, enough to take care of us all, plenty of money.”
That’s so sweet of you to think that way, so marvelously old fashioned.” She chuckled again. “But I make enough so you could leave that boring corporate jungle and be the perfect househusband.”
He shook his head. How bewildering! He loved his job, and all his friends worked at Atlas too. However, she was the first one to be open to having lots of children, he thought, so he agreed to meet her for lunch that Saturday
They met at a popular Italian restaurant. Observing her for the first time, Gilberto thought he wouldn’t mind if she’d shed a few pounds but her extra weight was kind of sexy. Every plump finger bore an expensive jeweled ring. He nodded. She certainly had class.
She signaled the waiter and ordered a fine French champaign. Her eyes held promise. “You are so adorable,” she cooed. “I think we’d get along very, very well.” She reached over and squeezed his knee, then she winked at him. The waiter took their orders and disappeared. They spoke on neutral subjects like the weather: Nothing meaningful.
Gilberto fiddled with his silverware. Remembering their phone conversation, he thought again. He didn’t take to what she said about his being a househusband. Besides he was the provider, the man of the house. Perhaps he could change her mind. “My father never changed a diaper,” he began.
She looked at him and frowned. “Times have changed,” she said. “Besides, you can always take parenting lessons.”
About to reply, Gilberto shook his head. He took a breath to speak and was interrupted by the waiter bringing their dinners. Then the conversation turned to the food. All during dinner he mulled over her odd behavior. Finally, over coffee he said firmly. “I think we both should work.”
She giggled. “You can’t be serious” She crossed one glamorous leg over the other and leaned back. “My income’s sufficient to support us both. Besides your income would fling us into a higher tax bracket. I hate paying taxes.”
He scratched his head and sighed. “What kind of work?”
“Romance novels,” she said. I have fifty in print under a myriad of pseudonyms. Last year my net after expenses was a million two.”
He shrank back in his chair. “Oh.”
She rattled off a series of titles that all sounded the same. “You see, to be successful, I’m compelled to attend conventions, book signings, meetings with my publishers, it’s just endless. I’m hardly ever at home. And our children will need a good father who’s there for them. I just know you’re the man for the job.”
She had such nice wide hips, perfect for bearing children, he thought. Trying again, he said: “We could hire someone.”
“But why, when you’d be the perfect househusband? I’ve been waiting years to find someone exactly like you. Always at home, night and day tending to the children’s every need, while I work.” She stopped and thought a minute. Then she looked up at him. “Of course, you do cook and can take care of a kitchen?” She stopped and fiddled with one of her blond curls.
He shook his head. “I’m a terrible cook,” he said with finality. “And I love my job. It’s been nice meeting you.” He stood and kissed her hand in a fond farewell. He pulled some bills out of his wallet. “Here’s for the check, my share.” He smiled at her, a sense of relief flooding through him.
“Um, OK, bye,” she said wiggling her beringed fingers.
Feeling as though he’d dodged a bullet, Gilberto headed for home. He was anxious to see if any other applicants had replied to his listings.

Fresh Fruit Salsa Recipes For Summer

Here is my go-to recipe for fruit salsa. Just about any recipe can be adapted to include fruit.

2 cups chopped fruit (for blueberries and other small fruit, use whole)
juice from 2 limes
2 chopped jalapeno peppers with seeds and pith removed
1 cup chopped sweet onion
a handful of chopped cilantro
1/4 cup chopped lemon balm
2 cloves minced or mashed garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt (to taste)
1 chopped avocado (optional)
1/2 cup black beans (optional)
a dash of tequila (optional)

Mix all of the ingredients together and refrigerate for 2-3 hours. I like avocado in my salsa, but you don’t need to use it. Use more jalapenos if you want it hotter, or try another type of pepper. Use bell peppers if you want to have less heat. And tequila is optional, but it helps to meld all the flavors together.

Finding the Right Fruit

I always try to use whatever fruit is in season locally, and here in Western North Carolina, there is a lot to choose from. I’ve tried just about everything I can find here in fruit salsa and some were better than others.

Choose the firmest strawberries that you can find. They will get mushy after a while, so it’s best not to store your salsa for long.

Most watermelon holds up well in salsa. Both red and yellow flesh works well in fruit salsa.

Again, choose firm peaches, and remove the skins. Peach skin can be bitter sometimes and may turn rubbery.

Choose mangoes when they are in season. Right now, the best ones around here are the smaller Atalufo. They are also sometimes called a “champagne” mango. They have a smaller seed, sweet flavor and a smaller pit. Other good choices would be Kents, Keitts, and Tommy Atkins.

Strangely enough, mulberries make a great fruit salsa. They are sweet with just a bit of tart and they don’t get mushy.

Always a good choice for salsa. Try it grilled to bring out the sweetness.

Sweet, tart, and crunchy, apples are a great choice for salsa. Try Fuji or Honeycrisp for more flavor.

Asian Pear

This is one of my favorites for fruit salsa. Tasting like a cross between a pear and an apple, Asian pears hold up very well. Leave the salsa overnight for the lime and jalapeno to absorb into the pear.

While they are firm, pears make a great salsa. When they are too ripe, they will mush and get grainy.

It seems strange, but firm bananas work very well in salsa. Don’t use them when they are too ripe though. They will get mushy just like pears will.

I love blueberry salsa! They are sweet and tart and just the right texture to make great salsa.

If you can get a hold of jackfruit (try your local Asian markets), they make wonderful salsa. Cut into smaller pieces or it could get rubbery.

There are many other fruits that could work well in salsa. When trying new things, be sure to get fruit that is firm and ripe to get the full flavor. Some fruits, like raspberries or blackberries, will do great as a garnish on top but tend to break apart or get soft and squishy after a short time.

Weekly Horoscope

Sunday, July 05, 2020

Does it feel like things are stalled in the water? Well, it so happens that five planets are retrograde right now: Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto. Oy! (I’m sure this is why I can’t seem to lose weight.) The good news is this week Mercury retrograde is over, at least technically. Yay! However, it is still nine degrees behind where it was when it first went retrograde, and until it catches up to that original degree – we are not truly in the clear. To be sure, goofy errors and transportation delays will reduce. Definitely. That’s a relief and it’s welcome news! But do you want to buy a car or a computer during this shadow period? Deep Russian male voice: “I think not, baby puppy.”

Aries (March 21-April 19)
Your focus on home, family, and a parent continues. If you have had company camped out on your doorstep, by the end of the week, they will leave because finally, Mercury retrograde will be over in terms of its impact on your life. Fiery Mars is now in your sign where will stay for the rest of the year, pumping you with energy and aggression. Fortunately, fair Venus is in your House of Communication, softening your words and making you much more agreeable to everyone – at least, in short, little bursts of time. Venus also makes you appreciate your surroundings as well as realize how much people really do care for you. Gosh. (It almost makes me tear up.)

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Your fast pace continues because you have a busy schedule of short trips and things to do! And yes, you have people to see! Life has been hectic lately because Mercury retrograde affected transportation issues, communications, cell phones, and a myriad of ways that would introduce tiny little obstacles to your daily world. Fortunately, most of this insanity will end this week. Meanwhile, Venus will continue to attract money to you. (We like!) Furthermore, it will encourage you to buy beautiful things for yourself and loved ones as well as art objects – and who appreciates art more than you? Avoid arguments on Wednesday. Zip thy lip.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Money and possessions are a big focus for you now. This could relate to your earnings – or lack of them. It certainly relates to your cash flow, your assets, your wealth, and your possessions. The delays and a bit of insanity that have impacted your cash flow will reduce by the end of this week. They’re history. Things will start to settle down. Nevertheless, avoid squabbles midweek about money issues (or possibly, something you own). Fortunately, fair Venus is in your sign now, which makes you diplomatic and charming. In fact, Venus will also make this an excellent week for you to buy wardrobe goodies for yourself. It’s important to feel good about yourself when shopping for clothes. (“I love me” or “I hate me.” Guess what different choices those moods create!)

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
It’s still all about you, dear Cancer with the Sun in your sign boosting your energy and giving you a chance to recharge for the rest of year. This Cancer Sun will also attract people and favourable situations to you. Nevertheless, midweek, Mercury in your sign is at odds with Mars at the top of your chart, which means arguments with parents, bosses, teachers and the police could take place. However, they won’t happen if you are not part of the dance, will they? As we both know, it takes two to make a fight. Secret love affairs are still at play for many of you. This is a good time to think about what you want to achieve in the next five years. Ideas?

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
For a variety of reasons, you will want to play things low-key and sort of hide behind the scenes this week. (No peeking.) You won’t completely be a recluse because Venus will seduce you to talk to friends and socialize with groups. In particular, you might be more involved with creative, artistic people. Something that might be building up is you are developing ideas that run counter to someone else’s beliefs but you feel you cannot speak up. This is probably wise. Sometime something like this fades away on its own or it starts to evolve into something else that is manageable. (One hopes.) Wait to see if it’s really important before you actually vocalize your concerns. Nobody wants to end up with egg on their face. (Ketchup helps.)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This is a popular week! Enjoy interacting with friends and groups in person or online. (Zoom, Zoom, Zoom!) You will talk to younger people more than usual. With Venus at the top of your chart, life favours your business and professional life, which is why you will attract people and circumstances that will help your work. Someone might also ask for your input about artistic matters like design, layout, redecorating, or PR ideas. However, avoid squabbles with a friend midweek about shared property. (Or a sexual relationship?) Remember that anger serves no purpose other than to make you miserable.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Try to accomplish as much as possible this week because the Sun is at the top of your chart casting you in a flattering spotlight. This means you look great in the eyes of others! Since this only happens once a year for four weeks — literally it is your chance to “Make hay while the Sun shines!” Make your pitch and do whatever you can to advance your agenda. However, having said that, midweek, you might be at odds with someone in a position of authority (boss, parent, teacher or the police). Or perhaps this argument takes place with a partner or close friend? Use your diplomacy to diffuse the situation. Meanwhile, travel or a change of scenery is what you long for. Something different and pleasant!

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
If you could travel – you would love this because you need a change of scenery. You want to learn new things and experience adventure and fresh stimulation! Because many of you are gung ho to work hard now, you might encounter this stimulation through your own efforts. Meanwhile, sexy passion is hot this week. (The stuff of movies.) This is also an excellent week to ask to borrow something, including a loan from a bank or a mortgage because you can benefit from the wealth and resources of others, including your partner. It’s nice when gifts start coming your way, isn’t it?

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
This continues to be a passionate, intense week for you. However, delays with shared property, taxes, debt and insurance issues will fade away. Now you might be able to get the show on the road again! However, disputes about the same areas might arise midweek. Fortunately, it looks like relations with your partner or close friend are cozy, which means someone will have your back. These disputes midweek might also be a lovers’ quarrel. Fear not because with Venus opposite your sign, you are nicely in tune with others and sensitive to their needs and wants. In fact, it’s easy for you to express affection for others right now. (That’s timely.)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You will continue to need more rest and more sleep this week. Respect your need for this. Meanwhile, because the Sun is directly opposite your sign (this happens only once a year for four weeks), this is an excellent opportunity for you to have more objectivity and a little distance to observe yourself in these relationships. You will see where you’re winning and where you might improve. Squabbles midweek might occur with someone at home, perhaps with family due to the increased chaos or activity at home. Fortunately, Venus guarantees warm relations with coworkers and anything related to your job or a pet. Woof!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
It’s fabulous how much you are getting done now because you’re motivated to work and more than that, you want to get better organized in every aspect of your life. You even want to improve your health! Since you are motivated about these issues – get as much done as possible! Make this work for you! Tread carefully midweek because a work-related argument might arise or perhaps a disagreement with a sibling or relative. Stay chill. Meanwhile Venus encourages socializing, romantic involvements and joy in expressing your creative talents in the arts. It’s a good time for playful activities with kids. Basically, you want to have a fun time! Yeah!

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
This continues to be fun city for you! Try to take a mini-vacation or enjoy schmoozing with others or having parties as long as they are not a threat to anyone’s health. Enjoy playful activities with kids. Romance is particularly favoured. You will also welcome any chance to express your creative ideas and talents. This is also a great week to enjoy redecorating projects at home or to tweak your digs. You might want to invite someone over so they can admire your excellent choices. Admittedly, midweek, an argument with one of your kids or a creative partner might arise. Quite possibly, the argument is about money and possessions. Remember the advice of Phyllis Diller: “Never go to bed mad – stay up and fight!”

Weekly Horoscopes Beginning Sunday, 05 July 2020

If you`re born within cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you`re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You`re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.

Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don`t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.

Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Sometimes obstacles are exactly that, only difficulties to be overcome, swiftly as possible. However, with your ruler Mars in Aries for an unusually long time, until early 2021, life`s about both review and change. Taking it slowly may be out of character, but this gives you a chance to truly consider what might go, what you want to explore and where your next passions could lie.

In legal and financial matters, it won`t be easy to distinguish between truth and fiction. You`re dealing with someone whose charm is very persuasive. Don`t dismiss the option of corresponding with a professional as they could help you see things from a different perspective. Expect to want extra relaxation during the evenings as opposed to that strong Aries desire of yours to get on with things during the days. Follow your instincts and you won`t go wrong.

Mars has arrived in your sign and, thanks to a retrograde period, has an extended stay. Over the next six months, pushing your ideas forward will likely take priority and yes, you do need to put `you` first. However, Mercury is retrograde at the very base of your solar chart and until next Sunday at least, going back over past issues (most likely property related) could prove challenging. There might also be the issue of how and when to pick up loose ends. To what extent can you plan the last quarter of the year? All this will surely be preoccupying and effectively stop you from thinking too creatively. It might help to carve out two separate half hours in every day when you focus simply on how you would like things to be and not as they are presently. In this respect, you could get support from a Virgo, who, though worrying greatly themselves, will likely have useful perspective on the small steps needed to achieve success..

Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20

Your horoscope for this week:

True, there`s no sidestepping the troublesome situations you`ll encounter nearly every day. However, these are minor compared to the thrilling, if unsettling, developments that are slowly, and spectacularly, reshaping your life. True, committing to arrangements with so much in flux won`t be easy. Still, this is just the beginning of a series of breakthroughs, in your lifestyle, work and sense of self, beyond anything you`ve dared imagine.

Friendly communication will enhance all your relationships. You will enjoy talking things over with your family and friends. There is excitement in the air especially if plans that come under discussion have something to do with a forthcoming wedding. There`s more to life than responsibility. Try to keep duty to a minimum to enjoy whatever fun activities are going around you now. With life getting more relaxed visit a park, listen to music, read or play with pets.

You won`t be the only sign to feel that you are taking two steps forward and one step back. The fact is that your ruling planet, Venus, is now moving forward as Mercury is still retrograde. There`s high probability that a clearing up exercise simply has to be accomplished before you can truly move on. There are questions to be asked. Some of these may relate to long-term financial arrangements. Getting to grips with where you stand and what liabilities you now have should take priority. Yet you may be pleased with what you discover. All may not be as bleak as first appears. More importantly, strong connexions with those who live and work far away could very slightly open the door to opportunities which, though not developing until the early part of next year, should be considered. The written word too looks to be important. Yes, this could have something to do with contracts and small print -but equally, attention might need to be given to copywriting on a website.

Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20

Your horoscope for this week:

As much as you enjoy intriguing ideas and meeting interesting people, lately life`s overwhelmed you with unexpected events and exciting encounters. True, with your ruling planet Mercury retrograde until the 12th, twists and turns are keeping you, and everybody else, on their toes. For now, enjoy everything that`s coming your way, knowing that recent powerful insights will make it clear what those plans should be.

The mood around you is changeable and uncertain. You`re finding it hard to put your mind to anything other than one particular job. That`s because you have a strong desire to get on and get it done. Something you overhear will have you thinking about your future. You`re trying to determine the whys and wherefores of a certain matter. As lockdown and social distancing is still a feature you should make sure that in business settings and official affairs others toe the line and keep to the point.

Venus is now moving forward in your sign. However, Mercury is retrograde until next weekend. Full progress might not be achieved for a few weeks yet. That though does not preclude you from making plans. First and foremost, there is the need to clear space. Yes, it could be argued that you`ve had weeks and even months to complete a space-clearing exercise. It may be that you`ve lacked either the energy or drive to do that. This week the desire to get to grips with long-standing issues is much increased. Indeed, by the middle of next week, this task could be nearly completion. As part of this exercise, there`s the possibility of a visit to a recycling waste plant. There might also be the opening discussions about a valuation and whether or not it`s time to consider making property changes.

Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Obviously, you`d prefer to turn ideas into solid plans right away. However, with circumstances and your own priorities shifting regularly, what seems best is changing every few days. Actually, this is enabling you to explore various options and get to know people without making a commitment, at least just yet. What you`re learning will come together in a clear, and lasting, arrangement, but probably not until mid-July.

Heavy responsibilities are wearing on your nerves. After rearranging your priorities, you will feel happier. Keep a pleasant balance to your activities and relationships. You will only get upset if you force yourself to do things which don`t really appeal. You aren`t immune to stressful influences and as the week ends you just won`t feel comfortable until you can shut the door on the world and simply enjoy the comfort of your own home and the people who share your domestic scene.

Mercury might still be retrograde in your sign, but there should be signs now that the brakes are slowly being removed. Exciting as this might be at one level, there is the challenge of picking up where you left off some months ago – bearing in mind that recurrence is possible in early 2021. It helps that Venus is moving through one of the more flexible signs of the Zodiac and that ideas should come thick and fast and helpful too that others are ready to discuss options – though true, making concrete plans might not yet be possible. With Mars having begun its long transit of the apex of your solar chart (through to the early part of 2021), the need to push forward aims and objectives gains strength. Whatever the difficulties between now and early August, your ability to focus on key steps along this journey will surely be recognised, much admired and soon, supported.

Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22

Your horoscope for this week:

It`s not that you`re a control freak. In fact, you`re in charge of making decisions so often that shifting the responsibility to others is a relief. However, elements of your life you`ve regarded as solid are changing, dramatically and rapidly. You find watching that unsettling. While you may not be feeling patient, wait until the Leo New Moon on 19 August, and everything will be clear.

The way you handle all things connected to other people is enhanced now. An e-mail or text message will be confusing. You will want to speak to someone face to face in order to understand what is going on. You might find yourself discussing an emotional situation with a sensitive friend and you could be surprised by how grateful they are for your understanding. Look for opportunities that allow you to put your feet up in your off-duty hours and make it your intention to leave physically demanding chores to another time.

You probably know that the planet Mars is associated with energy. As mars tours each area of the zodiac it encourages each and every one of us to explore different departments of life. Between now and early 2021, Mars moves through another of the Fire signs, Aries. This will likely activate your desire to know more. That could be at so many different levels. It would certainly suit if you wanted to undertake a short course. With Mercury retrograde until next weekend, selecting how best to use that energy surge would be time well spent. Do the research. This week is near-perfect for asking questions. The more you probe, the better. True, at least one person might think you`re being unnecessarily difficult. You`re right though that those extra checks – especially if property is involved – are vital.

Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Once you recognise that with things moving so swiftly, you simply won`t be able to make the variety of clear-cut decisions you prefer, you`ll stop worrying. Instead, you`ll adopt a more relaxed mood and reflect on events. This is timely, because with three eclipses having triggered shake-ups, in the world around you and in several areas of your life, you`ll want to think things through at leisure.

Your mood is restless. You might decide there is something you want to get on with, only to find this desire fading as quickly as it arrived. You have a strange feeling something is going to happen and this makes you uncertain about how you want to spend your time. Don`t be surprised if you are asked to take over a neighbourhood or community project that hasn`t been going well. Your main priority will be to keep the peace and find ways to boost the spirits of other people.

Your ruling planet, Mercury is retrograde until next weekend; and yes, it is possible that you`ll be in worry overdrive; anxious that others have yet to meet timelines they promised ages ago. You might reasonably wonder what`s been holding them back.. It would be understandable if these were cost related. What you might have difficulty with is the fact that they could have got on with some of the small tasks that are always necessary – if not essential – for systems to run smoothly. In taking over one of these tasks (which is probable as the Moon moves through your opposite sign over Thursday Friday), you could yet uncover a treasure. In fact, it`s what others are willing to throw away or ideas they rejected that could yet have immense value for you.

Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Ordinarily, you`re expert at gliding around minor obstacles. Now, you`re tackling troublesome matters head on, yet are keeping everybody on your side.. This is especially timely, because with your own priorities shifting, what and who once mattered most is increasingly less significant. However, with your ruler Venus accenting the process of broadening your horizons, it`s a period of discovery anyway, one that will be amazingly enriching.

Look to the past and be guided by experience if and when you`re faced with important decisions. Allowing yourself to be led by emotion could be a big mistake and certainly, you shouldn`t act on impulse or take needless chances. When it comes to money, providing you take a sensible approach to spending, the days ahead should hold plenty for you to enjoy. Local travel and broadening your knowledge through an online course are both possibilities.

Your ruling planet Venus, is in forward motion, but Mercury is retrograde until next weekend. This is constituting valuable thinking time: about where you`re going, what it is that you want to achieve, and particularly what knowledge you`ve acquired and wish to pass on. There is much to you to think about. It may be that there is an area of your home that needs to become more of a constructive working space. It might even be that a hobby can now be revived with a view to it supplementing your income in a few months` time. This needn`t be a case of cash changing hands but perhaps be a bartering operation. Note too, that it`s very likely that people you haven`t had contact with in many months will return to the scene. Though perhaps not yet in a position to move plans forward at speed, they might tentatively want to know your availability or desire to be involved with a project they hope to launch in 2021.

Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Only days ago, you were wrestling with the appealing ideas or offers triggered by bountiful Jupiter`s link to your ruler Pluto. You`re intrigued, although clearly changes would be unsettling. While still undecided, you`re enjoying exploring these, mostly because the ideas and options fascinate you. Decisions may seem urgent. However, this remarkable trend continues until November, so what doesn`t suit you now could later in the year.

There seems to be a marked lack of exciting or stimulating events going on in your life just at the moment. If no one is interested in your suggestions, take yourself off and within current limits do what brings you the most pleasure. Above all, don`t be afraid to try something that is different and new. By the end of the week your mind will be firmly fixed on the main chance and you will have a better idea of your future goals. You`re determined to keep on top of your game.

Mercury is still retrograde in another of the Water signs. This provides special `thinking` and reflection time. The fact that it`s retrograde in an area of your chart is all about deep understanding and learning suggests that like a sponge, you are ready to soak up information. It`s probable that this is focused either on health or daily essentials. Health needn`t be in any negative sense whatsoever. It may be that you need more physical exercise and that in doing this, you will generate an internal energy that gives you the enthusiasm to master a subject or solve a puzzle. A strong possibility is that an old book or document will trigger a strong reaction prompting thoughts as to how you could make better use of income and how it`s generated. At a different level entirely, you may be asked to give someone investment advice: the process leading to the realisation that you know far more about this area than you thought.

Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Between your inquisitive nature and knack for spotting unexpected opportunities, your timing is usually brilliant. Now, however, it`s the reverse, and while once-worthwhile arrangements are coming undone, other ideas that seemed promising aren`t thriving as you`d hoped. While you`re not feeling patient, that`s the solution. Focus on decluttering your life of unnecessary passions and plans, clearing the way for new, unexpected, and wonderful ones.

It is the future you are now considering and that`s because the present seems to be taking care of itself. This means you have more time to think about your long-term goals. A cherished dream is the one that grabs your interest and you want to do something really special over the months ahead. Activities around or connected to the home could be lucky for you. The arrival of someone when you least expect it might also save you from having to travel to visit them.

Venus is moving forward in your opposite sign, whilst Mercury is retrograde until next Sunday. These contrary directions suggest been pushed and pulled in different directions. Decisions will at some point need to be made and may be related to property management and your work environment. There is of course the possibility of colleagues and even close partners appearing to run around like headless chickens. Confusion reigns. Yet with your overview and experience you could direct this traffic wisely. Indeed, it`s probable that over Thursday and Friday your particular perspective will be much appreciated. At the very least, you may be able to calm frayed nerves. Yet it is perhaps true that you should also give thought to both your profile and potential legacy; and yes, a review of outstanding debts and even legacies and inheritance, might need to be part of this week`s planning.

Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Recent changes have been as powerful as they`ve been unexpected; but most have influenced the world around you. However, today`s eclipsed Full Moon is in Capricorn, indicating a profound shift in elements of your life and your perspective. This, in turn, will lead to unexpected breakthroughs. While, ordinarily, you`d take things slowly until the facts are clear, you`re urged to move swiftly, but ensure arrangements are flexible.

You`re in contact with someone who gets irritated with people who keep changing their minds. There is something of a joint nature you are being expected to consider. Give yourself the chance to think about it as you need to know what you really want before making binding promises to others. One way or another, this will turn out to be an eventful week for you and by the end of it you will feel ready for some fun, relaxation or both.

This Sunday`s Full Moon is the annual one in your sign. Since 2008 this time of year has been especially important for Capricorn. Key decisions need to be made. However, presently Mercury is retrograde in your opposite sign and others may not be ready to accept some of your ideas – at least not yet. All will change when Mercury turns directs next week. For now, the focus needs to be on keeping the wheels oiled. The amount of work and ideas coming your way looks to be considerable; and yes, midweek you may need to stand firm as new timelines are put forward. This looks to have been a major issue now for some time. Others may not be giving you sufficient time and space to accomplish tasks to your satisfaction. Making sure that everyone is aware that you have your own personal quality control and that that cannot be compromised could be this week`s big theme.

Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18

Your horoscope for this week:

After an exciting and, often, unsettling past few months, during which Saturn, planet of power and practicality, was in Aquarius, you`re now recognising how much your perspective on life has changed. Now that it`s departed, if only until December, you`ve an opportunity to review what you`ve learnt and rethink your ideas about the present and the future. While, there`s no rush, certain far-reaching changes are inevitable.

Someone is expecting you to help them out with a difficult or bothersome task. You have little, if any, inclination to get involved. It is entirely possible this project would tie up a good percentage of your time in the future. You have other more important things to do so leave them to get on with this on their own. Make the most of any quiet moments to relax as this will soon pass for there will be one or two events connected with a neighbour that will keep you on your toes.

Venus is moving forward in another of the Air signs. However, Mercury is still retrograde. As is likely to be the case for many people, you could feel that you`re doing two steps forward and one step back. This though might be useful. The opportunity to refine, re-engage, and generally challenge assumptions should leave you better placed to make key decisions next week. Following on from this Sunday`s Full Moon the reality of a situation could hit hard. Having someone in your corner (an Aries?) Actively promoting your interests would surely be wise. If you could do this before the Moon reaches your sign next weekend, that might be to your advantage. Meanwhile, and while sifting through old papers, you could find information that is super valuable and would make a real difference to negotiations.

Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Ordinarily, you`ve a knack for discerning between life`s normal ups and downs and relationship dramas. Recently, however, you`ve noticed an increase in such crises, mostly because others are refusing to accept the inevitability of certain changes.. What`s more, you`re not being swept away by any such dramas yourself, so can finally focus on certain important goals of your own, while others attend to their own needs.

You`ve always been sensitive and you`re in a more emotional frame of mind than usual. If an important choice or decision has to be made and this might affect your friendships or a romantic relationship, it might be wise to wait until a later date to make it. You need to feel clearer about what you really want to do. Be tactful when you sense someone is overdramatizing a minor ailment or problem. It will only upset them if you speak your mind. Eventually, the drama will die down.

Next weekend, Mercury stations in another of the Water signs. From then it would appear to be moving forwards – going back over degrees it`s crossed in recent weeks. This offers the opportunity to rethink decisions. That doesn`t mean that conclusions will be overthrown but it does suggest that these will require refinement. With that in mind, lively discussions taking place midweek may not rile you. See this as being part of a long-term process. Yes, property matters will likely require attention. It might be suggested that you either work from elsewhere or operate differently. By the time the Moon reaches your sign on Thursday, it would be good to have a clear idea of your goal for this time next year. You may find that more than one person wants to smooth your path and could even help with the wording of a document that would do precisely that.
