Biddy Tarot Card of the Week
by Brigit | Biddy Tarot <email@example.com>
The card drawn for this week is the Three of Wands reversed
It’s time to spread your wings and fly.
Growth and expansion are available to you, but you are choosing to play it safe and stay within your comfort zone. As a result, you are closing yourself off from new opportunities and limiting your potential.
If you are feeling disappointed or frustration because of obstacles in your path, it’s important to realize that these setbacks are an essential part of your life’s journey and contribute to your personal evolution.
Ask the Tarot: How can I step outside of my comfort zone?
Llewellyn’s Spell A Day
The Quickening of the Year
February 02, 2020 by Michael Furie
By the time February arrives, many people are tired of the cold. Though springtime and warmer days are ahead, it might not feel that way. We can help things along with some sympathetic magic. For this spell, you’ll need a pot, some ice cubes, a stove, and some rosemary. Rosemary is aligned with the sun and has naturally cleansing properties.
For the spell, fill a small pot halfway with ice, setting it on a cold stove. Hold either a fresh sprig or two tablespoons of dried rosemary in your hands, mentally pouring your vision of springtime warmth into the herb. Turn on the stove. As the ice begins melting, toss the herb into the pot, saying:
Hurry forth without delay, quicken
the shifting from the cold.
Winter’s power shall not stay, warmth
in balance shall now take hold.
The resulting tea can be strained, sweetened, and consumed to bring some warmth within.
Imbolc Candle Circle
February 01, 2020 by Kate Freuler
Traditionally, Imbolc begins at sundown today and continues through tomorrow. It’s time to entice the sun and warmth of spring back into our lives. This was often done through the ritual lighting of candles and fires. Here is a miniature Imbolc candle ritual that can be done anywhere.
Gather these materials:
* A permanent marker
* 8 multicolored birthday candles and holders (The holders are the plastic kind that can be poked into a cake.)
* A chunk of floral foam
Find a comfortable spot and spend a moment contemplating the return of warmth and sunshine, which brings with it hope, growth, and new beginnings.
Using your marker, write one intention on each birthday candle. Choose things you would like to see grow and brighten in your life as the sun returns. You can match the candle colors to your intent, such as pink for friendship or green for growth.
When you’re done, place the candles in the holders and insert them into the floral foam in the shape of a circle. Light all the candles, and as they burn, feel the powerful warmth coming off them, calling back the sun, hope, springtime, and all the positive growth you’d like to see in your life. Use this time to meditate on attracting your goals until the candles burn out.
Dancing the Fire Within
January 31, 2020 by Charlynn Walls
In the midst of winter, we seek out light and heat to sustain us through these dark months. It is important to rekindle our inner flame as well. If you are able to build a fire, do so. It can be in a fireplace or outdoors. If you are in an apartment, then the flickering of a candle flame will do.
Take some time to look into the fire. See the flame and how it moves. Mimic the movements of the flame with your body. Dance and invite the fire elemental to dance with you. Let them know that you are ready to rekindle your inner flame and ask for their guidance.
Once you have finished your dance, make sure to thank the elemental for spending time with you and bid them farewell.
The Parking Space Word
January 30, 2020 by Barbara Ardinger
I’ve received fan email for this spell, which I’ve published in various places, including earlier almanacs, so I’m repeating it this year. No matter where we live, if we drive a car, we need to park it somewhere. Whether we’re at work or at the mall or at home in an urban neighborhood that has more multi-family dwellings than there are parking spaces, we need to park our car.
Speak the Parking Space Word:
Speak it loud and with great energy. It seems to work best if you plan ahead and say where you want to park. Speak the Word, therefore, when you turn a corner or enter the parking lot:
Parking space at________.
Be aware that the Word doesn’t always work immediately. Sometimes you have to drive around the block or around the lot. Repeat the Word every time you turn a corner. It will work.
Spell For Action
January 29, 2020 by Charlie Rainbow Wolf
The first month of the new year is nearly over. Have you broken your resolutions or do you feel stuck in a rut? This spell will get you going in the right direction again. You’ll need a candle on a heatproof surface (an orange candle is best, but anything other than black will do), matches or a lighter, and a knife.
Light the candle and pass the knife through the flame so that you cut the flame in half. Don’t extinguish it though, or you’ll have to start over! Do this nine times, and each time you do it, say:
I cut away what binds me
So the fire of success may
burn inside me.
Pinch the candle flame out between your thumb and middle finger. Your chances of being successful in your endeavors have just increased!
Good Vibes Candle
January 28, 2020 by Melissa Tipton
For this spell, you’ll need a candle, ideally a larger pillar or seven-day candle, but any kind will work. White is a good all-purpose color, but you can choose any color you like.
Place this candle in an area in need of good vibes, be it at work or home. Close your eyes and imagine a clear stream of energy descending from the sky and into the candle. The energy stream continues to pass through the bottom of the candle, deep into the earth, creating a flowing column. Place your hands around the candle and say:
This candle connects above and below,
Sending energy where it’s meant to go.
Helpful energy radiates forth,
And harmful energy is fully absorbed.
When the candle is lit, good vibes will radiate into the space, while unneeded energies will be absorbed and neutralized. Be sure to extinguish the candle when you’re done.
Opening the Lines of Communication
January 27, 2020 by Devin Hunter
With the sun still in the early st ages of its journey through Aquarius and the moon riding high in Pisces, today is an excellent day to perform workings to strengthen relationships of all kinds that lack a clear emotional connection. Cast this spell to open the lines of communication between you and a loved one.
Dress a yellow candle with lavender essential oil and place it on a heatproof surface. Light it while facing the north. Visualize the person you want to have a better connection with and say:
From the heart, by the soul,
of the mind; a way through
this, we shall find.
I open the road to understanding,
our connection is notwithstanding.
Speak the truth and open wide,
from my spell you cannot hide.
I draw a line from me to you,
to usher in a breakthrough.
Allow the candle to burn down completely.
What the Groundhog Sees!
February 2 is the exact midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. It is customary in many places to foretell future spring weather conditions on this halfway marker of winter, which is celebrated as Imbolc in the Celtic tradition, Li Chu’un by the Chinese and Candlemas by the Christian Church. In Greece, people maintain that whatever the weather is on Candlemas Day, it will continue the same for the forty days to follow.
The Latin ditty predicts: Si sol splendescat Maria purificante, major erit glacies post festum quam fuit ante. “If Candlemas Day be fair and bright, winter will have another flight: If on Candlemas day it be shower and rain, winter is gone and will not come again.”
The Midwinter Day is also a time of weather prediction in Germany, where farmers claim they “would rather see their wife upon a bier, than that Candlemas Day be sunny and clear.”
In Germany, midwinter is designated Badger Day in recognition of the underground movement toward life, which is manifest in this season. When the first wave of German farmers immigrated to the United States, they brought Badger Day with them. Faced with a local lack of badgers, the Pennsylvania settlers were forced to substitute the American groundhog in its stead. And Groundhog Day has ever since continued to pique our popular fancy.
Each year on February 2, the attention of the nation is directed to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, where Groundhog Day is big business. Weather forecasters and news reporters converge there to stake out the burrows of these furry hibernating creatures, in order to ascertain the true prognosis of the coming of spring. Though decidedly silly, Groundhog Day is a direct and thriving descendant of age-old Midwinter weather divination practices.
Will Phillis, the mascot groundhog, see her shadow? Will spring come on time? Tune in tonight for the eyewitness report.
OK. Now pay attention. This is how it works: if the groundhog sees her/ his shadow, it means that there are still six more weeks of winter. If s/he doesn’t see the shadow, it means that spring is only six weeks away. Huh?
There are always six more weeks of winter. Spring is always six weeks away. That is why we mark the day in the first place. To remind us that winter is half over. Despite whatever prognostication the groundhog might make, spring is never early, never late. Spring always starts exactly on time – on the Vernal Equinox six weeks hence. But first we have to finish winter.
According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, by Groundhog Day you should still have half of your food store and half of your fuel if you are going to make it through the remainder of winter. So this is an excellent time to survey our resources and monitor our reserves. Do we have adequate stores of body, mind, heart, and spirit to weather the rest of the winter?
What is your strategy for surviving the second half of the season?
Here’s to a Happy Hibernation, Part II.
With bountiful blessings of restoration,

Heartwings Lovenotes 916 Competition versus Cooperation
Heartwings says, “Competition trains us to focus on winning; cooperation helps get goals met.”
As a child I disliked competition of all kinds and especially in sports. One reason was that I wasn’t very agile or well-coordinated and thus most often chosen last for any team. Another was that it made me sad that someone had to lose in order for someone to win. I played board games yet not with the keen desire to win that others played. For instance, Parcheesi which was a popular game when I was young was best won by blocking opponents and rendering them helpless. I never enjoyed doing that.
My mother was a fierce competitor. She played Chinese checkers without mercy, making no allowances for youth or inexperience. She played to win, regardless. I did not take after her, though I did learn to play a good game of Chinese Checkers. Fast forward to my adulthood and I still resisted competition when I could. My children invariably made me enter the tired Mothers Race at the fourth of July games. in the town where they grew up. I came in last no matter how hard I pumped my legs.
My children’s father was very competitive, and they all strove to do well in order to make him happy. He cherished their ribbons and trophies and often coached their various teams to victory. As a loyal mom I used to attend their tennis matches and baseball and ice hockey games, cheering along with the other parents, and trembling for fear they would lose and be sad. I was glad then the games or matches were over.
Competition is said to be good for children. Today even little ones barely out of toddler years are put on teams to play at various sports. For competitive people that’s good. For those like me, not so much. On the other hand, it is possible to play games in the spirit of cooperation. Team efforts in sports are only one version of that. There is a cooperative way to play any game, and that is to play to see how high the score can rise. Scrabble can be played that way, and I know that would be perfect for me.
May you find ways to use your talents well, whether competitively or cooperatively.
Blessings and best Regards, Tasha Halpert
PS How do you feel about competition? Do you enjoy it or do you prefer cooperation as a way of life? I do love hearing from my readers, and encourage you to let me know how you feel. Your emails make my day! Tashahal@gmail.com

The Treasure Hunt – 5
by Stephen Halpert
The newly constructed Historical Society was inundated by police, official vehicles, ambulances and truckloads of media. Its explosion had been heard widely and attracted a great deal of attention. Cameras rolled and bright lights were aimed at this new architectural marvel.
Jack took Evelyn aside, “Remember now, it was that anonymous Swiss benefactor.”
The grounds boiled with reporters who couldn’t believe their eyes, confused police suddenly dealing with major traffic holdups, and angry ambulance drivers upset at being sent on a wild goose chase. Amidst all this the Mayor’s Caddy arrived.
Mayor Vilma Perk got out of her car and adjusted her sunglasses. She was a short, stout woman in a dark professionally tailored suit and blocky high heels. She looked around and frowned. In place of the familiar, shabby historical building stood an ultra-modern structure banked by flower gardens and well-tended, professional landscaping She couldn’t help but wonder who had footed the bill.
Her jaw firmly set, she strode up to Evelyn. The media immediately encircled them. Vilma smiled radiantly. She greeted Evelyn as she would a long-lost friend. As the cameras zoomed in, she kissed Evelyn’s cheek.
The photo shoot lasted ten minutes. Then the press fell back Mayor Peck and Evelyn were alone. She glared at Evelyn. “Where’d you find funding for this, and you didn’t take the time to go through my office?”
“I didn’t do this,” Evelyn said. ‘It all just happened and I didn’t stop to think.”
`”What are you talking about?”
“How it just happened right before my eyes.” Her voice lowered to a conspiratorial whisper. “If you must know an elderly Swiss benefactor who chooses to remain nameless is responsible.”
Mayor Perk snorted. “You expect me to believe that?” Her eyes shot spears into Evelyn. “That wouldn’t stand up on the evening news.”
Evelyn nodded. She stood a little straighter and noticed her hips no longer felt painful. “Then call it a eucatastrophe, and let it go at that.”
Vilma Perk frowned. “What! I don’t think so. I don’t want our town overrun by religious zealots. Bad for tourism.”
Evelyn sighed. “I’m out of ideas. Call it a miracle. Because that’s what it had to be. I didn’t make it happen. It just did.
Vilma pursed her bright red lips. “A miracle, an unexplained miracle at that. I like that, there’s nothing that can be disproven or linked to anyone.” She smiled at Evelyn. “Believe me the press would poke holes, would make Swiss cheese of that Swiss financier story of yours. But no one I can think of can disclaim a miracle.” She looked thoughtful.” It’s even got a biblical ring to it.”
“Yes.” Evelyn nodded. She felt tremendously relieved.
“I’m still not nuts about it,” the Mayor said. “But I’m ok with the Biblical take. And how can anyone genuinely define a miracle anyway, let alone know how one could come about.”
“There were many miracles back in the ancient world,” Evelyn said. She sounded knowledgeable. “But perhaps fewer today.”
“And,” the Mayor said “knowing the media as I do, they won’t go digging too deep. They know that once they get in those waters with no substantiation— it gets too theoretical too fast for the average mind to comprehend.”
“You’re a good public official,” Evelyn said.
The Mayor patted her on her shoulder, pulled at the sides of her suit coat, smiled her best smile and beckoned to the media. “Ready to make an official statement,” she said.
They gathered around.
She took a breath and said. “What happened here today was a eucatastrophe. Plain and simple.”
“A what!” Many looked confused.
“Call it a miracle,” she said firmly.
Her press aide took her aside. “So without going into great detail your saying a miracle, this miracle” he said pointing to the new building, blessed our city.”
She thought it over. “That seems about right,” she said. “Keep it vague, nonsectarian, and undefined.”
Julia’s SUV pulled into the parking area.
Hardly able to believe their eyes, Todd, Becky, Lisa and Julia stared at the new Historical Society building. Jack hugged Julia. “You missed all the fireworks.”
Becky hugged David. “I was so worried about you.”
David’s eyes danced. “Wow mom you missed seeing the building fall down and the new one take its place.”
“I guess I did,” Becky said.
Lisa frowned and her voice came out in a snarl. “You did this,” she said. “You and that magic wand of yours caused all this trouble.”
David’s face reddened. He looked hard at Lisa and stuck out his tongue. “Crow Girl, Crow Girl,”
Lisa glared at him. “When we get home, I’m going to tell everyone at school. I won’t let you drive me crazy anymore.”
Todd turned on Lisa. “Stop that talk right now! Please be quiet. This is neither the time nor the place.”
Lisa shook her fist at David. “You’ll see.”
| “Then I’ll tell about you and Ricky Balfour,” David smirked.
Hearing his name caught Lisa off guard.”Wwhat are you talking about?” she stammered.
David grinned. “How he calls you Puffylips and says you two are going to get married.”
Suddenly Todd’s ears were on fire. “What’s going on,” he demanded. He staring intently at his daughter. “Why haven’t I been informed of this? I feel there’s something quite pertinent you need to discuss with your mother and I.”
Lisa’s face reddened. “It’s nothing. He’s just a friend from school. Really daddy, No big deal.” She said.
“He calls you Cuddleblanket,” David persisted. “Doesn’t he!”
“Enough of this,” Becky said. “I mean it David. I want both of you to stop this.” She took Lisa’s arm and walked with her to Julia’s SUV.
Todd took David aside. He lowered his voice. “How did you find all that out? You didn’t use your wand, did you?”
“Oh, no daddy,” David said. “I’d never do anything like that. I just read her emails. It’s easier that way.”

Staying True to Your Word
By Madisyn Taylor
Your honest word is one of your most precious and powerful possessions.
Promises are easily made. Keeping them often proves more difficult because when we are pressured to strive always for perfection, we find it simpler to agree to undertake impossible tasks than to say no. Likewise, there is an infinite array of circumstances that conspire to goad us into telling falsehoods, even when we hold a great reverence for truth. When you endeavor to consistently keep your word, however, you protect your reputation and promote yourself as someone who can be trusted to be unfailingly truthful. Though your honesty may not always endear you to others–for there will always be those who fear the truth–you can nonetheless be certain that your integrity is never tarnished by the patina of deceit. Since frankness and sincerity form the basis of all life-enriching relationships, your word is one of your most precious and powerful possessions.
When we promise more than we can deliver, hide from the consequences of our actions through falsehoods, or deny our true selves to others, we hurt those who were counting on us by proving that their faith was wrongly given. We are also hurt by the lies we tell and the promises we break. Integrity is the foundation of civilization, allowing people to live, work, and play side by side without fear or apprehension. As you cultivate honesty within yourself, you will find that your honor and reliability put people at ease. Others will feel comfortable seeking out your friendship and collaborating with you on projects of great importance, certain that their positive expectations will be met. If you do catch yourself in a lie, ask yourself what you wanted to hide and why you felt you couldn’t be truthful. And if life’s surprises prevent you from keeping your word, simply admit your error apologetically and make amends quickly.
Since the path of truth frequently represents the more difficult journey, embarking upon it builds character. You can harness the power of your word when you do your best to live a life of honesty and understand what motivates dishonesty. In keeping your agreements and embodying sincerity, you prove that you are worthy of trust and perceive values as something to be incorporated into your daily existence.

As a restless Aries, you thrive on ideas, people or experiences that broaden your horizons. However, once you’ve made those discoveries, you want to turn them into a plan or action or, alternatively, move on to something else. Yet you’re stuck, and increasingly frustrated. That’s because there’s more to discover, something you’re brushing aside. Plunge in. You’ll soon wonder why you hesitated for even a second.
A chance to indulge in a little light speculation will appeal to you. You’re very tempted to try your luck. Sometimes it is better to hold back until a better opportunity comes your way. Avoid risky financial deals or this could lead to disappointment.. This will be a good time to decide on how important your current commitments are to you. Ask yourself: what do you really hope to get out of them. If whatever this is, isn’t happening, make some changes and move on.
It may be true that you don’t always give practical matters the time needed yet but there is little doubt that you have considerable design skills and can vision how things should be. What you present after Venus moves into your sign next Saturday could indeed be spectacular. Without wishing to pour cold water on plans however, it would be wise you to discuss these with those born under Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn. It’s these individuals who might have a better idea of how long certain tasks will take. If you can then show that you have addressed their concerns you could yet triumph. With people most likely talking about you and your abilities midweek, there is also the potential for you to push your career forward. Though true, it may be after Mars arrives at the apex of your chart next month before there is real progress, you could do much to enhance your image this week by showing that whatever plans you are making, you are also keeping one foot firmly on the ground.
Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Do you fear that, gradually, destiny is taking control of your life? It’s true. Worrying as that seems, this is encouraging you to let go of old and mostly restrictive ways of doing things, thinking or even responding to new ideas. When Uranus moved into Taurus a year ago, you began a cycle of breakthroughs. While it began slowly, these events are preparing you for some real excitement.
You’ve always been practical and your mood is super-determined as the week begins. You are confident about what you are doing, you’ve made your mind up and no one is going to be able to talk you out of it. Even though, there are some who will try to do so. You need a challenge and this could come your way sooner than you think. Your boss or an adventurous friend has plans in mind that will soon be revealed.
This Sunday’s First Quarter Moon is in your sign. Ideas that have been incubating since last July should now come to their next stage. The fact that others are captivated by what you propose and have ideas that would enhance your plans is yet another bonus. Those seeking to develop a second revenue stream should see this boosted considerably midweek. That said, mid- month Mercury turns retrograde. It will be necessary to go back over plans and ensure that cash has been spent wisely. For now, you could make interesting new contacts and, where the Internet and media is concerned, advance a product or item with ease.
Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Ordinarily, when making decisions, you’ll explore your options, finalise plans, then move on to what’s next. However, over the coming months, you’ll be broadening your horizons. As a Gemini, you’re inquisitive, but still sometimes get stuck in familiar arrangements. Now life’s about discovery and the unfamiliar.. You’ll soon be meeting new people and encountering the new ideas that will gradually become central to your life.
If you’ve been avoiding dealings with banks, financial institutions and insurance companies, take the bit between your teeth and get on with it. You should have a fairly successful week when it comes to work and money. Any problems that do arise can be easily dealt with. Make time to go out and socialise. Mix and mingle with friends and colleagues. Get to know a new neighbour better. Have fun with your amour.
By midweek and with the Moon in your sign as Mercury moves through another of the Mutable signs, you could be at your very best. Your very best is when you engage in lively discussion and see multiple opportunities for advancement. Yet this is also the time when you could talk yourself into trouble. In playing with words, there is the danger of being entrapped by what you say. Indeed, you could talk yourself into difficulty requiring next week that you fight your way out of a web of intrigue that you’re partly responsible for creating. It would perhaps be wise to ensure that you make accurate notes of conversations or take someone with you who notes down what you say and what you promise. Fulfilling those promises is another matter altogether – but something you need to do if you are to improve trust.
Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22
Your horoscope for this week:
The complex matters you’re currently facing are best understood by going back to the events triggered by the powerful Cancer eclipsed Full Moon on 10 January. They brought changes in circumstances and, equally, in your priorities. Although some changes fell into place, you’re still wrestling with others. Tempting as it is to rush things, take it slowly. Every insight creates the foundation for the next.
You’re waiting for the results of an application, test or interview. Although there may be some slight delay, the outcome will be a favourable one and this could be the start of a more profitable time ahead. So, have patience. There is change in the air but deception too. Pull back on the reins of impulsiveness and let good judgement and sensibility rule. It will be important for you to keep alert and to be careful about what you tell people.
Mercury moves into another of the Water signs on Monday and for an extended stay. The fact that this highlights relations with experts and/or those who have done considerable travel or indeed, have some kind of international connexion suggests your world is set to expand and considerably. That these trends begin just as the Moon (your Sun ruler), arrives at its first-quarter suggests that ideas first incubated around your birthday last year will gain momentum. Don’t be at all surprised if you are invited to join a new team. Indeed, though this may have been first mooted many months ago, it’s only now that others may the funds and energy available to get things moving. With Venus arriving at the apex of your solar chart next week, there is the very strong possibility that your career is set to go off in yet another but very exciting direction.
Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Usually, you’ll tackle even complex or challenging issues immediately. Yet, to your frustration, you’ve had to bide your time, and in a range of matters. The key is the Leo Full Moon, on 9 February, which brings both facts and your own surprisingly unclear priorities to a head. Plans are finally coming together. Tempting as it is to rush things, take it one day at a time.
A new chapter is about to begin. You’re going to notice a big difference in your closest relationships. With everyone being more cooperative now, you can move forward with joint plans. Any restrictions that have prevented you from spending time together are now lifted. There’s a lot to enjoy and many things to do but too much of a good thing is not always good for you. So no matter how enjoyable social events might be, know when to call it a day.
As of this week Mercury appears to slow down. Your thinking might be a little more ponderous than usual too. That might be a good thing given that so many ideas are set to come your way and each will require care. Some may be both career and property related. Each may be traced back to around July of last year. Now there’s detective work to be done. There’s also the possibility midweek, are being tipped off about a deal that could be negotiated properly in a few weeks’ time. Excitement should grow after Venus moves into another of the Fire signs next weekend. Until then focus might not be easy. It is perhaps also worth restating that if a deal appears too good to be true, then it probably is.
Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Ordinarily, when making plans, you take potential changes into account; but even at your cleverest, you couldn’t possibly guess the nature or direction of the twists and turns coming your way. That may sound worrying, but these are breakthroughs, if of a completely unexpected nature. Once that’s clear, instead of struggling to make that perfect plan, you’ll be more easy-going, and take each day as it comes.
Changes in the workplace will mean you have to put more careful thought and attention into your job concerns. If anyone is being too critical, don’t allow their behaviour to force you into making thoughtless errors. The actions and decisions you’re making now will have far-reaching consequences. Tread with the utmost care. You may need to do something physical to help you unwind. Get into the habit of taking a brisk walk every evening.
Mercury moves into your opposite sign but even then appears to move very slowly. It comes to its retrograde station in the middle of the month. Though there’s nothing to say that you won’t make progress this week, there is the possibility of feeling held back but not knowing quite why. It may be that others are not making the moves you expected. Think of this as a cleaning project that’s taking longer than you imagined. On the upside you could now see opportunities that have actually been there for the last couple of months but which were hidden. Indeed, what’s exposed – most likely midweek, – could yet prompt you to reach out to someone who works some distance away and whose culture is very different to your own but whose ideas and plans are fuelling a developing interest.
Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Obviously, you’d rather avoid a confrontation with somebody who’s always difficult. However, this process is about you doing lots of listening, then gradually raising your ideas and plans, for the present and future. What’s most important is recognising this isn’t about anything lasting but, rather, clarifying a more general vision of how you hope things will go. Once that’s clear, the rest will be surprisingly easy.
A situation has you confused. One person has said one thing, another person will give you a very different story and you don’t know who to believe. You need some space to do some thinking. You’re ready to take a break from your usual routine. Your family can sense your agitation and they won’t stand in the way of such intentions. Colleagues are very understanding. Indeed, people are insisting you take this opportunity to recharge your batteries.
The waters could get muddy. Is it possible that you now have too many irons in the fir? Take care that you don’t spread yourself too thinly. There is much to suggest that you’ll be travelling here, there and everywhere; most likely on short your journeys and quite possibly health-related. It may not be your own health that is the issue either. It may be that you simply need to assist someone who is going through long-term treatment. This aside, it’s quite possible that an interesting alliance could form midweek; and yes, this should be work-related. Alliances and relationships are very much your thing; and perhaps now is the time to share a load. With Venus moving into your opposite sign next weekend, you may well be correct in thinking that now is the time to practice the art of delegation. Exciting and promising as this may be, it would be as well to put as much in writing – if not arrange a formal contract -as possible.
Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21
Your horoscope for this week:
Long ago you learnt that even seemingly impossible difficulties can be overcome with carefully calculated yet persistent effort. While that’s working, your biggest problem is those who’re impatient, and want fast action. For now, forget about explanations and instead distract others with a task or challenge very different from the issues most on everybody’s mind; and say nothing. Eventually, you’ll explain, but not in the near future.
You are tired of holding back from making changes that you feel are necessary. It doesn’t matter what anyone else has to say, you are ready now to act on your decisions and once you’ve done so, you will know you are on the right path. You have a good idea of which opportunities are going to be worth your while and which you should discard. Your family will agree on mutual concerns and you will find it easier to make progress in joint affairs.
On Monday Mercury moves into another of the Water signs, Pisces, and for an extended stay. It will be retrograde from February 17th. This area of your solar chart is all about risk and speculation and yes, that applies as much to romantic activity as it does to financial and other matters. You could also consider this your research and development area. It likely won’t be until next month when it’s apparently moving forward and building up apparent speed, that you will feel comfortable about initiating action. For now, you should be able to identify areas of potential interest. With this Sunday’s First Quarter Moon drawing attention to ideas first planted last July, you there’s also the possibility of someone approaching you with a very interesting offer. An alliance could be discussed.
Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21
Your horoscope for this week:
You welcome change but, of course, make your own decisions and set your own schedule. However, destiny seems to be taking over. For now, wait and watch. While both the nature and direction of events may be very different from anything you had in mind, you’ll soon realise this approach is easier and includes activities or even certain individuals that will add amazingly to the eventual outcome.
A friend will help you out when you need a favour. This will come as a relief as a situation could have turned out very differently without their assistance. Don’t forget their generosity and be sure to let their kindness rub off on you. Keep the momentum going by offering to help someone else. If your career involves the public, choose your words very carefully before posting on social network sites. Someone could misinterpret excess politeness as intentional provocation.
Mercury appears to slow down as it arrives at the very base of your solar chart on Monday where, thanks to a retrograde period, it has a long stay. This isn’t something that happens every year and conditions could indeed be unusual. It is recognised that Sagittarius is need to travel. That’s not always literal: it can be in the mind. It seems likely that you will be reaching out to others. A further possibility is that news from a relative who lives a long way away, will be a factor in your planning. Career wise it would be understandable if you felt unsettled. On the very positive side however, the discovery that others are now moving in a direction that you always thought was appropriate should boost your spirits: especially when they give recognition and thanks for your belief in them.
Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19
Your horoscope for this week:
Since late last year you’ve been in a cycle that’s forced you to break away from familiar habits. However, you’ve also been exploring options you’d once have dismissed. This hasn’t just been instructive, you’re now rethinking elements of your life, work or alliances you’ve always regarded as unchanging. Finally, you’re recognising, this is about catching up with the rest of the world.
There’s something vague in the air which makes you wonder whether you have missed something. A new friend is causing tension by spreading silly rumours. Since you don’t intend to speculate about other people’s private lives and you won’t join in the gossip, this relationship isn’t likely to last. Satisfying your sensual side is strongly advised. Treat yourself to a bunch of flowers, a new outfit or something that makes your heart soar.
It might be as well to be prepared to be exasperated. Once again you could gain the impression that others are running like headless chickens and that their plans are unrealistic. It might help to be aware that Mercury changes signs on Monday and has an extended stay in one of the Water signs of Pisces. Think of this as a complete change in the communications current. It would take even the most experienced of harbourmasters, to assess the appropriate speed and direction to lead others to safety. Your role over these next seven days may be to advise others (yet again) about risk management. The more listening you can do the better. By the time Venus arrives at the base of your solar chart next weekend, you could at least have a clear idea of the difficulties that will need to be faced in the coming weeks but also be reassured that these have at least been aired and preferably written down with clear guidelines as to where the buck stops (not with you!).
Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18
Your horoscope for this week:
Despite your fierce inquisitive streak, you long ago dismissed certain ideas or new ventures as unwise, unappealing or both. However, destiny has decided these are in your best interests and, to your surprise, you’re enjoying exploring these. With your ruler Uranus newly accenting such changes, this is just the beginning of a period of growth, often in directions as unexpected as, ultimately, they’ll be rewarding.
A relative will try to censure a friendship or relationship. It doesn’t matter whether or not they approve of your friends or your partner, you have a right to make your own choices. Don’t be surprised if you are tempted to tell them to mind their own business. New friendships will come through your career connexions. Sign up quickly when you hear of an exciting workshop or seminar. Anything you learn from this will serve you for a lifetime.
Mercury leaves your sign on Monday but will return there for a few days next month. Between now and early March its transit of one of the key financial sectors of your solar chart, suggests you may need to give extra thought to cash flow. It may be that negotiations are needed. What seems clear is that you will be aware of shifting financial sands. This may not be a bad thing, but valuations may now be rather different to what you had assumed. Midweek, Mercury makes contact with one of your ruling planets, Uranus now moving across the base of your solar chart. A possibility is that property-related issues will dominate conversations. Substantial developments in the work-place may require a temporary move or displacement. What seems likely is that as of next weekend when Venus changes signs, the network possibilities will grow.
Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Every Piscean has dreams that you’re working to make reality or which, if you’ve been successful, you’re determined to maintain. However, the world around you is changing and, shortly, you’ll need to update your existing arrangements or those future plans. While this will be unexpectedly easy, it means going with the flow, but in a direction you may dislike. Still, give it a chance. You’ll soon learn why.
You are more flexible and spontaneous than usual. Taking charge of a team effort will bring out the best in you. Some faint-hearted members of your team will try to hold you back but their words will hold no sway. You are in control. You are calling the shots and what a transformation a group effort is going to make. After a long talk with an older relative, you might feel inspired to research into your family history. You could uncover some valuable information about an ancestor.
Mercury, the planet associated with communications and thinking, moves into your sign on Monday – and for an extended stay. It is sometimes suggested that Pisces takes a scattergun approach in these areas. Perhaps because you take on so much, you inevitably forget something. Yet in dialogue with a Taurus or Aquarius, a plan could emerge. It may be that these individuals need your presentation skills as much as you need their focus. This could yet prove a formidable alliance. Given that these aspects are coinciding with Mars’ transit of your career zone, it may be that before Mercury turns retrograde on 16th, that you could push forward your career significantly. It’s arguably important however that you do so with a colleague whose steadying force alerts you to possible mishaps en route.
