Light A Candle Today!
In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

Biddy Tarot Card of the Week
by Brigit | Biddy Tarot <firstname.lastname@example.org>
The card drawn for this week is the Five of Swords
This week may be a little challenging. Disagreements and arguments may leave you feeling upset, angry and resentful. You may be feeling challenged or that you are in competition with another.
If you don’t enjoy conflict (and who does?), it may be time to just apologize and move on, or shift your perspective. The longer you brood over the conflict or the more you try to prove you were right, the more challenging the relationship will become. Be ready to say that you were wrong and make amends.
Ask the Tarot: Do I believe in competition or collaboration?
Yes, It Is Leap Year …. How Many Days are in February This Year?
February will last 29 days in 2020. (2020 is the leap year) February will last 28 days in 2021. February will last 28 days in 2022. February will last 28 days in 2023. February will last 29 days in 2024. (2024 is the leap year) February is the second month of the year.
The season of Imbolc, sometimes spelt Imbolg or Oimelg is one of the ancient Celtic or probably pre-Celtic fire festivals celebrated at the beginning of February. It is closely associated with the festival of Candlemas. Many connected customs are common to both festivals. The word Imbolc literally means “parturition” and refers to the time of lactation of the ewes. Imbolc is clearly a celebration of the start of Spring.
It seems strange to be celebrating Spring when January is hardly over and the coldest weather, in the Celtic countries, is still to come. And yet by the start of February, buds are swelling, the spears of daffodils are in evidence and for those involved in agricultural or horticultural activities the new season has definitely commenced.
But February 1st is Brighid’s feastday and an invocation of Brighid in her various aspects will unlock deep experience of the season of Imbolc.
Brighid (earlier Brigit, sometimes Brid, or in English, Bridgit and Bride).
Bridgid. So many stories! Her name means “The Exalted One”. Her influence is still strong in Ireland where she is a much loved and revered Saint. Her flame once kept perpetually alight in her shrine in Kildare is again kept burning by the Brigitine Nuns of Kildare. Her fire wheels are made by school children with love and reverence and her feastday is a national holiday. Holy Wells still resonate Her name. Her stories tell of her generousity and her gifts of abundance and her cloak, in the form of small cloths that are left out to catch the morning dew of her feastday, are used for healing.
However, it is interesting that she is remembered over a much wider area. She turns up in some unexpected places. For example The river that names the London Borough of Brent, is called after a tribe of her people, the Brigantes. In a part of Brent called Willesdon (the well near the hill), is the now reinstituted medieval shrine of Our Lady of Willesdon which was one of the great pilgrimage sites. In those days, a Black Madonna presided over a healing well, a memory, certainly of a Pre-Christian rite. It was destroyed ,as was so much, by Cromwell, but it is good to see the shrine restored and the healing qualities of the well rediscovered. (I mention this example because I was born a couple of miles away from this site.)
This is one example among many. In Ireland her power is persistent.
The mythological Brighid, the Goddess of the Tuatha de Danaan was the daughter of the Dagda. She was the patroness of Poetry inspiration and Smithcraft. The Christian saint took over many of her attributes.
Brighid’s Gifts of Abundance : She is a guardian of domestic animals presiding over their fertility, watching over Spring births. There is one story in which she shows influence over a wild animal, a fox. All animals are drawn to her. Another story shows her power over human fertility. She permits the foetus of a nun who was pregnant to be reabsorbed, not a story often told in Ireland. Saint Brigid is sometimes known as the Foster Mother of Christ and it is she who offers the cup of the milk of fostering. As a baby she is fed with the milk of from a wonderful white cow with red ears. This cow, known as the Glas Gaibhnenn, is highly relevant to the story of Ethlinn and is discussed in further detail. Another Saint, Ide also is said to have owned the Miraculous Cow, but she shares many stories with Brighid and is simply being invoked by a local name, Ide means thirst. No, the Cow is Brighid’s cow. Hers are the gifts of nourishment that feed the child hero within us. The saint has miraculous powers of hospitality being able to provide endless amounts of food for all in need, including being able to turn water into ale. She is also able to control the weather.
Brighid’s Cloak : Her cloak expands until it covers all the territory that she wishes to influence. She also has a girdle that must be stepped through by those, people or animals, who wish to claim her protection. The story of the cloak and how it allowed her to claim her sacred land in Kildare seems to be of Medieval origin but it expresses her all encompassing influence. It is the white cloak of the winter with the transforming power to alter all it covers to green Spring and the potential of new life.
Brighid’s Fire : Her sacred fire was tended and kept ever burning by her priestesses, and renewed, cleansed, at her feastday. In the legends of the Saint it is said that the place where she slept was habitually haloed in flame and that once she hung her cloak on a sunbeam. She is the Goddess of the fires of the forge, and whether the fires create wonderful artifacts or inspire the power of poetic words, she is the origin of the flame. Therefore it is not surprising to find her White Cow at Goibniu’s forge. In her cauldron she forges the leaf shape flame sword of the Spring which will grow until it is offered to the Young Hero at his arming. The Brighid’s cross is a fire wheel, a symbol of the flame in the cauldron.
Brighid’s Wells: Many wells are sacred to Brighid in Ireland and beyond. There is a well in County Rosscommon, Ireland, known as Lasair’s Well. It is a healing well with coin offerings placed in cracks deep into the huge Ash tree standing above it. (Unfortunately the ash tree was cut down after a storm in 99) St. Lasair was a sixth century saint, the sister of a local priest, but her name means Flame. Here is a memory of the flame of Brighid within the cauldron well. A wellspring is a source of life giving power. It is the bubbling of new potential from the deep earth womb, and a fitting symbol of Brighid’s regenerative gifts.
Brighid’s Snakes : When Patrick drove the snakes from Ireland it is clear that he was trying to reduce the power and influence of the Goddess Brighid. The stories of the Saint do not refer to the snake although it still appears on the badge of her sacred county Kildare, (Sacred enclosure of the Oak Grove). However the snake is a universal and powerful symbol of regeneration. The snake is seen to come from the earth reborn. It is the Brighid power that awakens the serpents of life potential art the start of Spring and sends them out into the world. Several Heroes including Cuchullain are conceived when their mothers swallow a small worm like snake.

Llewellyn’s Spell A Day
January 26, 2020 by Michael Furie
Since winter can take its toll on the body and mind, a bit of selfcare could be in order. To begin, take a relaxing shower or bath and then lie down. Close your eyes and concentrate on the energy of your body. Mentally channel your energy in calming waves moving slowly up and down your whole body, clearing any blockages and soothing any weak spots.
Envision your body being clear of imbalance, feeling lighter and strong, and declare that you are realigned and magically renewed. If you work with the chakra system, visualize each of the energy centers as glowing brightly with power. Once you feel fully clear and aligned, disperse any excess energy by mentally sending it out through your hands and/or feet and into the ground, then open your eyes.
Happy Lunar New Year!
January 25, 2020 by Raven Digitalis
Color of the Day
Incense of the Day
Happy Lunar New Year! Today marks the beginning of the Year of the Rat in Chinese and Taoist astrology. This year is also ruled by the element Metal. In these ancient astrological systems, the Rat represents a potential beginning of great new things. For those of us who have interacted with rats as pets (myself included!), we know that they are very methodical creatures who always look before they leap. Because today’s lunar energy is a springboard of newness, it’s imperative that we invoke clarity and stay true to our intuition throughout the year. Today marks the beginning of action and doing rather than thinking or pondering.
Take advantage of this energy by taking a handful of seeds (of any type) and going outside under the dark moon. Offer these seeds to the earth while speaking your prayers to the energy of Rat. Discuss your desire for success in various projects and ventures, describing the steps you will take to achieve your goals. Meditate for a while and imagine a mischief of rats (that’s the term for a group of rats!) coming to feast on the seeds. If you wish, conclude the night with a firework or light a candle for the new year.
January 24, 2020 by Susan Pesznecker
The dark moon is a term used by magic users to describe the time when the moon cannot be seen in the night sky, while new moon is used by astronomers and astrologers to describe the same period. The new moon stands opposite the full moon; it’s marked by a deep sense of quiet and is often part of new beginnings and renewals. It’s also a great time for divination and introspection.
Just before bedtime on this dark moon night, set up a quiet candlelit workspace with your favorite divination tool at hand. Put on clean nightclothes and wash your hands and face. When you are settled into your workspace, use divination to ask questions about your path, your direction, your choices, or other areas of interest. Immediately after divining, safely extinguish the candles and go straight to bed in a dark room. Your deep dark-moon dreams will bring answers to your questions.
Dark Moon Detox
January 23, 2020 by Tess Whitehurst
A dark moon is neither an inhale nor an exhale but rather the pause between the breaths. It’s the perfect time to energetically detoxify and clear the decks for a fresh and successful new moon cycle and lunar year.
Cover a salad plate with sea salt and sprinkle dried sage over the top of it. Place a black candle in the center of the plate and light it safely. Imagine all heaviness, stuckness, and energetic debris within your body, aura, home, and life being sucked toward the candle and into the sea salt and sage, where it is instantly neutralized and dissolved. Relax and breathe deeply. Willingly release all tension, worry, and other unwanted emotions, feeling them drain from you and disappear. Extinguish the candle.
If possible, enhance this candle spell with physical forms of detoxification, such as clutter clearing, drinking lots of pure water, taking a sea salt bath, and/or eating lots of healthy, natural foods.
Thinking of You
January 22, 2020 by Cerridwen Iris Shea
In January 1673, postal service began between New York and Boston. In honor of this, take a few minutes to write a real letter or card (not an email) to someone you value with whom you haven’t had contact in a long time.
Gather these supplies:
* Paper or a card
* A pen
* An envelope
* A pretty stamp
Bless the supplies in the name(s) of Mercury and/or Iris. In addition to being the Greek goddess of the rainbow, Iris keeps lines of communication open between the worlds.
As you write, focus on how much you care about the recipient. Let that energy flow through your pen and into your words.
You can keep it simple. Even the words I’m thinking about you and wish you happiness can make an enormous difference in someone’s day.
Write the note by hand and address the envelope by hand. Attach the stamp, then mail the card with this blessing:
May this note brighten (recipient’s) day. It will!
Dream of a Lover Spell
January 21, 2020 by James Kambos
Traditionally this was considered to be a good day to divine the identity of a future love. This was done by casting a spell that would reveal the image of a new lover during a dream.
For this spell, you’ll need a pinch each of dried rosemary and thyme, a small square of fabric, and pink ribbon. At bedtime, lay the fabric wrong-side up, and sprinkle the herbs in the center of it. Tie the corners of the fabric together with the ribbon as you say:
With a pinch of rosemary
and a pinch of thyme,
The image of a new lover I shall divine.
Herbs of love, relax my mind,
Let me see a lover, sweet and kind.
Tuck the bundle beneath your pillow and go to sleep. When you awake, record your dream’s images in a journal. Save the herb bundle, and use it again if you wish.
What is Your Dream?
January 20, 2020 by Barbara Ardinger
Today we celebrate the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Go to YouTube and listen to his “I Have a Dream” speech, which he delivered on August 28, 1963, during the March on Washington.
What dream do you have? Cast your circle and set up your altar with four green candles in holders and symbols of what can make your dream come true. Light the candles, call in the four quarters, and invoke the god or goddess who can send the elements of your dream to you.
Speak this invocation:
I dream, and dreams come true.
I dream and make my life anew.
Now speak your dream aloud. Describe it in the minutest detail. Take as much time as necessary so the Invisibles know precisely what you want. Speak the invocation again.
Remember that Dr. King’s dream has not yet come true, although it’s moving along. Your dream will probably arrive incrementally.
Heartwings Lovenotes 915: Taking My Time
Heartwings says, “Your time is there for the taking.”
What does it mean to take my time? Does it mean I can be leisurely, need not hurry, use as much time as I think I need or seem to, to do whatever I am doing? Does it mean I have some time that is all my own, that no one can wrest from my grasp? What is my time? How do I take it? What I’ve noticed is that when I reach for it, it slips from my grasp. When I plan for how much I’ll need, it does not stay where I want it. It vanishes while I am looking the other way. Worse, if I get distracted and wander off, it won’t be there at all when I come back.
Time is something we human beings invented. It was probably thought up by people who observed the natural cycles of nature and the seasons. Wanting to measure ahead, they created calendars and clocks of various types. If I wanted to know more, I could look it up on Wikipedia, however I don’t want to take the time to do so because it’s just more information than I need right now. I’ve written a good many poems about time, and I’ve a long-distance project to put them into a chap book one day. All I need is the time to do it. However, I have to take it to do that.
Sometimes I look at a photograph and think, when was that taken? I look again, realizing that more than 30 years have passed since, and wonder, where did the time go? I don’t remember taking that time and doing something with it, though I probably did. However, now is when I could use it. As I get older it takes me longer to do what used to take less time. I find it is important to me to recognize that there is nothing wrong with that; perhaps I am more thorough than I used to be. Or does time just go faster than it used to do? I’d like to go back and dig up some of that missing time.
As my number two daughter once pointed out: to an eight-year-old, a year is one 8th of life. To an 80-year-old, it’s one 80th. I think about that when I catch myself saying, “Where did the time go?” More than ever as the years pass, every moment is precious. How many are left to me I have no idea, nor do I wish to know. What matters is to take each moment for what it holds and move on to the next feeling contentment and anticipation. I can take my time that way. Long or short, happy or sad, busy or relaxing, each and every moment of my life needs to be passed with awareness.
Ma you find the time you need when you need it.
Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert <email@example.com>

Putting People on a Pedestal
By Madisyn Taylor
When you put somebody on a pedestal, it is giving away your power and saying you are not good enough.
When we fall in love with someone or make a new friend, we sometimes see that person in a glowing light. Their good qualities dominate the foreground of our perception and their negative qualities. They just don’t seem to have any. This temporary state of grace is commonly known as putting someone on a pedestal. Often times we put spiritual leaders and our gurus on pedestals. We have all done this to someone at one time or another, and as long as we remember that no one is actually “perfect,” the pedestal phase of a relationship can be enjoyed for what it is–a phase. It’s when we actually believe our own projection that troubles arise.
Everyone has problems, flaws, and blind spots, just as we do. When we entertain the illusion that someone is perfect, we don’t allow them room to be human, so when they make an error in judgment or act in contradiction to our idea of perfection, we become disillusioned. We may get angry or distance ourselves in response. In the end, they are not to blame for the fact that we idealized them. Granted, they may have enjoyed seeing themselves as perfect through our eyes, but we are the ones who chose to believe an illusion. If you go through this process enough times, you learn that no one is perfect. We are all a combination of divine and human qualities and we all struggle. When we treat the people we love with this awareness, we actually allow for a much greater intimacy than when we held them aloft on an airy throne. The moment you see through your idealized projection is the moment you begin to see your loved one as he or she truly is.
We cannot truly connect with a person when we idealize them. In life, there are no pedestals–we are all walking on the same ground together. When we realize this, we can own our own divinity and our humanity. This is the key to balance and wholeness within ourselves and our relationships.
The Treasure Hunt 4
by Stephen Halpert
Amidst flying furniture and artifacts, Jack and David guided Evelyn to a wooden bench at the far end of the parking lot.
She hiccupped, her body jerked, and her eyes went blank. She began to slump. Jack and David held onto her gently, stroking her shoulders.
“Stay with us, Evelyn,” Jack said, speaking softly. “You’re safe here.”
He looked at David. “Stay with her,” Jack said. “Keep holding her. Don’t let her fall over. Be right back; getting my device and calling Julia.”
David nodded wisely. Being with Uncle Jack made him feel grown up. “I’ll take good care of her, Uncle Jack,” he told his uncle, who nodded quickly and rushed off to his car.
David put his arm around Evelyn’s shoulder. Seeing that she was still holding the wand, he lifted it from her hands. Looking very serious, he waved it and said, “Please make Mrs. Metcalf all better again.” Then he carefully tucked it away in his knapsack.
Jack reached into his car, grabbed his device and punched in Julia’s phone.
She answered. “Hi, having fun?”
“Trouble,” He said emphatically. “Evelyn waved David’s wand and asked for the Historic Society be updated. Now it’s being totally demolished.”
“Just like Aunt Tabatha’s clock,” she said.
“But worse, I fear Evelyn’s in a state of shock.”
Julia gasped. “I hope David’s safe.”
“Yes! He’s tending to Evelyn, poor dear, staying beside her on a bench out of the way of any flying debris. But Julia, judging from the way she looks, I fear she lost her mind.”
Julia chuckled. “Jack please don’t worry about Evelyn. Knowing her the way I do I’d say if she loses her mind she’ll just go out and find another one.”
Rumbling sounds echoed behind him. He turned to look just in time to see the old clock tower hit the ground.
“Hurry please!” Jack signed off and went back to Evelyn. She was sitting up straighter and David was patting her hand and telling her about his arrowhead collection.
Julia hurried to the pool. “All hands on deck,” she cried. “That was your Uncle Jack. Apparently, Evelyn waved David’s wand and now the Historical Society building is self-destructing. We must go over there right now.”
Becky jumped up and looked concerned. “Is David all right?” She wrapped a sarong over her swimsuit and put on her sandals.
Julia nodded. “Jack said he and David are caring for Evelyn.”
“Come on Lisa, Todd said, “Time to dress.” `
“Do I have to?” she whined. “The sun’s just right for my tan.”
“Get dressed,” Becky said sternly.
“Why do I have to go,” Lisa persisted. “This is all David’s fault. He only makes things like this happen to make my life miserable.”
“Stop that,” Todd snapped, anger in his voice “I’ll not have you suggesting our son had anything to do with the demolition of that building.” He wagged his finger at her. “You have no idea the legal implications and expenses that sort of gossip could prompt.”
Lisa’s face reddened. Tears filled her eyes. “It’s not gossip daddy. Everybody at school knows my brother is weird. That’s why boys never call me,” she sniffed. “Please daddy, please make him go away. Send him to a boarding school somewhere far away,” she begged. “Then I can lead a normal life.”
Todd threw up his hands and looked helplessly at Becky.
“Get dressed,” Becky told Lisa. “Now. There could be injuries. I’ll need your help.”
They dressed and got into Julia’s SUV. “We should be there in a few minutes.” she said.
As Jack rushed back to David and Evelyn, he saw her face was ashen. She gave him a strange smile and said, “The driveway needs fixing.”
As he watched to Jack’s amazement the driveway became covered in freshly laid blacktop. Grinding noises drew their eyes to the Historical Society building. Concrete blocks, steel, weathered wood, and oversized panes of glass, a modern edifice in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright had formed up before them. They saw what was once an old building of indeterminate age become a modern architectural wonder.
David grinned at Evelyn. “See it’s become nice new building.”
Evelyn looked and shrank back on the bench. “Oh goodness! How will I ever explain this to the city. They would never appropriate that kind of money for funding. I’ll be investigated. You don’t know what it’s like around here.”
Jack smiled. “I’d just say it was donated by an anonymous Swiss benefactor, who loves the Keys and chooses to remain nameless.”
Evelyn nodded. “That’s as good an explanation as any.”
Julia pulled in.
In the distance police and fire sirens sounded.
“We’d better go in and clean up the mess before we’re inundated,” Jack said. He and David helped a shaky Evelyn to her feet and they went in through the glass doors.
But the inside was as marvelous as the outer façade. New modern furniture gave the space a comfortable feeling. The files were all replaced in new modern cabinets and old historic maps of Key West decorated the walls.
“This is amazing,” Evelyn said. But what will I tell people?”
“The mysterious benefactor?” Jack tried. “Just stick by it.”
Julia’s SUV pulled into the newly paved parking area. She looked in disbelief at the refurbished Historic Society building. Becky and Todd gasped and began to laugh. Lisa sat in the back seat texting on her device, a sullen expression on her face.

Letting go of persistent but pointless battles. This, then, frees you to concentrate on worthwhile challenges. They`ll add excitement to your life and enrich your objectives. For now, explore each. That alone will prove amazingly inspiring.
Silly problems seem to slow everything down to a snail`s pace. Try not to let this get to you. You could easily become disheartened with snags which could have been avoided if someone had been more careful. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes. You could use any time you get to yourself to think through recent decisions and check your work for errors. You long to see results but don`t rush jobs that need careful preparation.
It`s normal to take a few days after any New Moon (24th), for energy to be free-flowing. By Wednesday and the Moon`s arrival in your sign, it may not be possible for you to contain impatience. You ought perhaps to ask yourself whether or not it`s the action you crave a whether or not you really do have a proper plan in mind. There is real danger of energy being squandered. Note too that there are still matters that need to be cleared up before real progress can be made. That in itself should be regarded as progress. Though yet more responsibility seems headed your way, it might be wise to set aside time for serious planning and perhaps, before the end of January, agree a regular meeting with someone who isn`t necessarily a life coach but who similarly has your best interests at heart and will assist in holding your vision.
Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: You`re a sensible earth sign, so generally know exactly how to relieve the crises of others and, equally, who you can help or not. Currently, however, the dramas of certain individuals are almost haunting you and, worse, rousing guilty feelings. It`s a powerful lesson in recognising what you can do and, importantly, what you can`t. Focus developing your discernment, not on others` ups and downs.
A close friend has some great news they want to share with you. Accept their invitation to meet up for coffee even if you had other things to do. Take your time over this, as happy moments like these should be treasured. Some secret suggestions from someone you have just met will sound wickedly delightful but you will turn them down. You may have to avoid them in the future as there`s no point in putting yourself on the path to temptation.
The recent New Moon (24th) accented your career zone. By the time the Moon reaches your sign next weekend, you could have sound plans in place. If there is a difficulty, it`s that others may think you`re acting a little crazed. They may have difficulty in accepting your plans and structure. Note that Venus arrives at Quarter phase with Mars at the start of this week. This could manifest as being on collision course with someone who feels you`re not being clear or abiding by set rules. They may be right in thinking that you are focusing too much on presentation. That said, if you began 2020 determined to launch a new product or service, you could perhaps consider the period between now and March 20th as optimum for a trial or test run.
Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: The places you`re exploring, ideas you`re encountering and people you`re meeting are satisfying your need to broaden your horizons. However, certain individuals are worried, if not impatient, about looming decisions. While you`re currently short of facts, once your ruler Mercury moves to accent such matters, on 3 February, you`ll have the information you need. Better yet, your thinking on these issues will be considerably clearer.
Don`t fool yourself when it comes to money. This is not a good time to give in to any extravagant impulses. Even if you have cash to spare, this could soon be needed elsewhere. So, keep a careful eye on your spending and if you have a partner, encourage them to do the same. Relationships are a source of security and satisfaction. Any disagreements that occur will be swept away with good humour. There`s lots to enjoy with your family and friends.
It would be understandable if you were still in the process of re-grouping, of grieving or accepting a loss. The fact is that the recent alignment of Saturn and Pluto marked a staging post. It could be that you now need to reinvent yourself. Doing this might require collaborating with someone (possibly a Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn). Though obviously much depends on your personal chart, this union might be temporary. Even so, this person`s talent for focusing on the practicalities could prove useful. Whatever, this is thinking and asset management time that could lead to you looking at premises or making changes to your environment; and you`re right, perhaps you`ve outgrown your working scene.
Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: This is a week of insights, both about once-worthwhile arrangements and, equally, about individuals who, in the past, you`ve trusted. That may seem grim, but you`ve been concerned about these, so what you learn will be a relief and, better yet, justify making demands or, where appropriate, rethinking arrangements. Tempting as it is to plunge in, take it slowly. You`ve far more options than you imagine.
If there`s anything about your job you don`t understand, ask for help but choose your mentor with care. If you accept the advice of someone who hasn`t a clue what to do it`s going to feel like the blind leading the blind. Don`t waste your time pandering to a colleague`s over-inflated ego. There are others who are more qualified to guide you. You feel a strong need to be in touch with other people and that`s why, if you`re spending hours working on your own, you will be constantly checking social networking sites.
Much as you might wish to put your best foot forward and get things done before the end of January, that may be an unrealistic timeline. You could perhaps give yourself until the March equinox to make real progress. That doesn`t mean that you can`t make headway in the next seven days. Determining what would work is as important as discovering what would. Designs are always a subjective thing. You may find that what you think is right wouldn`t appeal to others. It`s designs generally that are likely to be major topics of conversation. In fact, this could translate into a heated argument before the end of the month. Yet if an investment is to be made (a down payment?), you`d likely be correct in devoting time to ensuring that what you`re paying for is exactly what you need or has inbuilt flexibility. Given the amount of travel you might need to do and the potential for this to take longer than expected, it might be wise to ensure you always have a notebook with you and to write down the many ideas that are incubating.
Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: Recent unsettling revelations or, perhaps, events have you wondering whether certain longstanding arrangements will survive the current tide of change. For now, wait, watch and, equally, learn; but, also, be aware that neither your thinking nor your priorities will be clear until the Leo Full Moon on 9 February. After that, you`ll be ready to discuss changes that, at the moment, you wouldn`t even consider.
Show your feelings through your actions. You`re a warm and loving person and if you feel someone needs it, give them a hug. This might be all it takes to lift their spirits.. Cancelling social arrangements to spend time with the family will show how important they are to you. Throw a party to celebrate a friend`s good fortune. Someone close is talking about needing a change of scenery. Take this opportunity to start planning a luxury holiday.
It might appear that others are getting all the attention and that you are getting very little.. Don`t expect your voice to carry much weight until the middle of the week.. That though, gives you ample time to observe and to plan. If you focus you might also see presentation ideas that will develop in a couple of months` time. Your general strategy may be questioned by someone (Sagittarius or Pisces?) leaving you highly irritated. Yet this criticism could act as fuel and lead to the conclusion that there is at least one thing you want to see preserved. Whether this is a way of working or an item is immaterial. Fact is that before the end of January, you`ll be reminded of just how important this is and the lengths you are willing to go to preserve it.
Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: While you`d never describe yourself as headstrong, you`ve strong views on several matters, many of which are undergoing radical change. Some shifts are welcome, but others are unsettling yet will achieve little. What`s more, although your reasoning is sound, with so much in transition, even simple facts are unreliable. Once you understand this, you`ll focus on teamwork, both when gathering information and organising plans.
You`re enjoying work that gets you out and about, meeting and mingling with others. If your job involves teaching, nursing or dealing with the public, you will be in your element. It will feel good to help people in practical ways. Some good fortune is on the cards for you. Your money situation is changing for the better and this could come about in a surprising but very welcome way. Good news is reason for a celebration.
Venus is in your opposite sign and reaches its first-quarter phase with Mars at the start of the working week. As you might imagine, there may be many examples of relationship tension around. This is as likely to affect your working life as your personal one.. It may be that it`s time to part ways with someone whose working practices are alien to your own. Uncoiling could take until the March Equinox. In the interim, and with excellent aspects between your ruling planet Mercury and Uranus, you could make some fascinating connexions. These could involve another culture altogether. It might also lead to a research project you feel needs to be got underway before the end of January. It`s entirely possible that this links to back to a contact made in the first fortnight of January which could yet prove a valuable alliance.
Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: Hoping you can get through this complex period without standing up to certain individuals or organisations? Although you`re dreading potential clashes, your facts are clear and you`ve right on your side. The real battle is that Libra fear of such confrontations. This is really about overcoming that. Dealing with the issue in question helps you put those persistent anxieties to rest, once and for all.
Take time to work out how to handle a misunderstanding. Before you speak out, think carefully about what others have been saying. They could know something you don`t. Ask questions about anything you don`t understand. Once all is explained, you will see this situation through different eyes. You`re feeling lively and vivacious but guard against a tendency to be over enthusiastic. Impulsive behaviour could cause an accident. Use safety equipment whenever it is necessary.
True, you could be in super creative mode. It doesn`t alter the fact that you`ll also likely be at loggerheads with someone who feels you`re being inflexible and perhaps just too determined. They may be right. It could take until the end of the month for this to be resolved. Yet if presentation, advertising or the Internet is involved it`s really important that you work hard to get things exactly right before you move forward. Haste at this stage would surely bring error later. A design that works in one place might not work in another. That`s perhaps also true of the way in which you dress. It may be that a different style would now be more appropriate but you haven`t yet found exactly what is correct for you. It might be an idea to take advice. Though you may feel that someone born under either Aries or Scorpio is pushing you in a direction that feels unsafe, it`s possible that their instincts are absolutely right.
Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: During January`s first half, the perplexing events triggered by powerful links to your ruler Pluto were often as challenging as they were unexpected. However, they`re part of a powerful and, ultimately, worthwhile cycle that continues until midyear. These aren`t about a single situation, but a range of matters and, even more, your own shifting perspective. Knowing that, forget about finalising anything and, instead, learn from each day`s experiences.
A new person in your life is demanding and selfish and it`s costing you a lot to keep them happy. Their company drains you emotionally and it`s time you got some distance from each other. Someone wants too much influence over your life and if you don`t start to assert yourself now, they will persuade you into making changes that aren`t good for you. If you`re waiting to hear the outcome of a job interview or loan application, no news is good news.
Venus comes to its first-quarter phase with your ruling planet, Mars. For many, this will result in relationship tension. Of course, this could happen in many areas of life. For you, it may be that the way in which you spend or want to spend is queried. You might even be cross with yourself. Much as you may be drawn to something that looks as though it`s absolutely perfect, you may be right that it`s overpriced or, after careful study, not exactly right for what you really need. Energy then could be squandered this way and that – particularly midweek. It`s then too that you could cross swords with someone who seems so determined on a particular style which you sense is wholly inappropriate. Getting your message across will likely not be easy. Yet with your considerable charm and yes, the force of your argument, you could yet get your message across.
Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: Ordinarily you`ll ignore minor issues, knowing that while they`d distract you from your current activities, if they`re serious, they`ll surface later. Yet certain of these involve practical or financial matters that need attention, in some cases urgently. True, they`re dull. Ironically, these problems will become all the more tedious if you do nothing. Or, alternatively, tackle them now and what you learn will be unexpectedly fascinating.
There is something vague and cloudy in the air which is causing you and a few other people a lot of confusion. Someone isn`t being honest. Worse still, they are withholding information you have a right to know. Do some research to find out what they are trying to hide. A new friend is causing tension between you and a partner. You can`t understand why your amour is so against this friendship. Sit down with each other and talk. This will help you see things through their eyes.
Many will feel as though they`re marking time. They may be unsure as to the way forward. That`s likely to give rise to considerable tension in relationships of all kinds as Venus moves to right angle with Mars. Yet it is also true that Venus conjoins Neptune and with that should come a wave of understanding. Your design skills (as will be the case for many signs), will presumably also be put to the test. At another level entirely, you could have contact with the artistic world. Alternative medicines must also have your attention. Changes to your diet are possible. You might also consider your mental diet and whether or not subscriptions have passed their sell by date and that you now need to join new groups. In short, this seems to mark a gentle change in approach.
Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: While you`ve been able to deal with most of the rather tricky situations that arose during January`s first half, you`re facing practical issues and fallout from those who`re complaining about the resulting changes. Say and do the minimum. That may seem unkind. However, within days almost everybody will become accustomed to these. Similarly, rethink certain of your own decisions, especially where you said a hasty `no`.
If romance has been rocky, a more fulfilling time lies ahead. Super communications will allow you to talk about your feelings in a way you have never been able to do so before. Take advantage of this chance to break down barriers that have been between you. Your leadership skills are evident in the workplace. You put your ideas across with authority. This is your chance to share your vision with others who want to listen.
It`s still not so many days since Saturn Pluto formed their conjunction in your sign. The reverberations of that heavy-duty chord will be felt for some time. For now, you may really need to access the logical part of your brain. It`s normal for you to think prudently and cautiously. Now though, you might need to turn down the emotional volume to almost zero whilst you consider your next move. A strong possibility is that you and a co-worker are on completely different flight paths. Adjusting to one another may be super challenging: taking inordinate time and goodwill. Whether or not you have that could be a huge question before the end of January. Yet it`s also possible that you will attract a most curious but fascinating offer before the end of the month. This will presumably require you to understand take research and detective work but with your interest piqued prove irresistible.
Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: As much as you enjoy learning about intriguing new ideas, that doesn`t mean you`re ready to get involved without at least a little thought. However, since mid-January, you`ve been facing a range of `now or never` situations. Mostly, you`ve taken a chance, said yes, and haven`t regretted it, although events are still unfolding.. Still, regard that as justification to at least explore the week`s sudden developments.
New faces are entering your workplace and you will make many valuable friends who can help you get ahead. People in authority will be helpful and a high-powered professional will put in a good word for you behind the scenes. If there`s some electrical or plumbing work to be done at home and you aren`t qualified to handle this, hire an expert. You don`t want to risk your family`s safety for the sake of saving a little money.
This could so be your week. Anticipate that others really will be listening to your ideas. True, it may be that you refuel best when others put up opposition: and that is likely given the right angle between Venus and Mars. Yet this may be something you positively enjoy. Giving way on certain points might not seem so difficult or terrible. In fact, by the end of the week you could pull onside someone who at the start of the week feels that you`re crossing far too many lines. It`s curious that just a couple of weeks ago Saturn Pluto aligned in neighbouring Capricorn. This marked a full stop moment for many. It was the closing of a chapter. Your sign though looks to be the first out of the starting blocks to prepare for the new. Yes, many people will be resistant and wonder if they can get back to where they were. You though may be carrying a torch and pointing clearly a good way forward.
Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Epigram: The coming weeks will bring a range of situations that demand you rethink both existing arrangements, your priorities and future plans, all without much clarity about what`s next. While, obviously, you`d like more facts, your instincts are correctly telling you that seemingly unrealistic options could turn out far better than you`ve dared hope; but you`ll only benefit if you get involved, and the sooner, the better.
Spending time with your family, especially older relatives, will make you happy. Don`t be surprised if conversations inspire you to start researching your family tree. Stories about a past event that involved an ancestor of yours are worth passing down. The best way to make progress is to stick with what you know. Steer clear of anything you don`t have a clue about as you won`t have time to take it all in and you will only feel defeated before you even begin.
You have a gift for smoothing things over. With considerable tension likely as Venus moves into right angle phase with Mars, that trait will surely come to the fore. You may not need to work very hard at this as Venus aligns with Neptune in your sign. Your charm and ability to see where ideas can be brought together, and how others might work together for the common good should be obvious; and yet: changes to working arrangements, possibly exhausting travel situations and the determination of some to cling to practices that are outworn will provide considerable challenge. Focusing may be particularly difficult. With so many people craving your assistance, it`s not hard to imagine you darting here and there trying to help everyone. Restricting yourself to those situations where you know you can make a real difference would surely be a wise move. In the process, rapport with those born under Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn looks set to increase hugely.
