Light A Candle Today!
In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

Llewellyn’s Spell a Day

Solstice Party Stone Soup
December 22, 2019 by Emyme

In the Northern Hemisphere this is one of the shortest days of the year, and it is hard to believe we are moving into more light. As a welcome to the holiday season and a celebration of more light, share a meal with family and friends. I am reminded of a particular book from my childhood called Stone Soup, in which villagers are tricked into providing ingredients for a pot of soup begun with water and a stone.

With or without a stone, add the ingredients for your favorite soup or stew. Invite family and friends. Add candles and/or firelight to welcome the longer days. Just for fun, obtain a copy of the book and read it aloud.

Carrots, onions, potatoes, and beef,
What more can we add to
make this complete?
Stone at the bottom of this cooking pot,
Bring the magic, then let’s eat!
Sun Day, Sun Day!
December 21, 2019 by Najah Lightfoot

A golden light rises in the sky, its light so bright that if you look directly into it, you’ll be blinded. All life responds to its golden touch.

We call it our sun, but actually it’s a ball of fire burning at more than 27 million degrees Fahrenheit. Thankfully its distance from Earth allows us to benefit from its immense heat, but stand in the sun’s rays for too long and you’ll surely get a sunburn (no matter your skin tone).

Appreciate the power of the sun, which we neither control nor command. Strike a yoga pose, or lift a burning sage bundle to our golden light.

Praise our sun:
Blessed orb of golden light,
Which lights our days and
warms our nights,
Without you we could not be.
We honor you with love,
respect, and humility.
Deep Dark Spell
December 20, 2019 by Dallas Jennifer Cobb

Too often we are afraid of the dark, but as I tell my daughter, “There’s nothing in the dark that isn’t there in the light.”

Tonight, claim the power of darkness. Walk slowly through your home, systematically turning off each light and saying:

What’s in the light is all still here, so
in the dark there’s nothing to fear.

Turn off the last remaining light source and sit down. Sit with your fear or anxiety. Sit with it and breathe. Consciously slow down your breathing, and notice your heart rate responding and slowing. Be aware of your eyes adjusting to the dark as your pupils widen.

As you breathe and slow down, affirm and know:

What’s in the light is all still here, so
in the dark there’s nothing to fear.
I am strong and capable,
confident and brave.
I am at peace with the
darkness, no longer afraid.

Using Sacred Smoke for Spiritual Cleansing
By Minerva Siegel

Smoke cleansing is a great way you can use the power of scent to prepare your energy for a tarot reading. Different forms of smoke cleansing have been used in cultures all over the world for centuries. In Catholicism, censers filled with smoking incense are swung back and forth during some liturgical services. Smudging is a practice common in many Indigenous cul¬tures that involves burning plants (commonly sage) in an abalone shell and fanning the smoke with a feather. In recent years, people have often used the term “smudging” incorrectly to refer to the practice of simply burning sage. The actual act of smudging is a sacred Indigenous ritual. If you’re not of a culture that traditionally practices smudging, please use terms like “smoke cleansing” or “aroma cleansing” to refer to your own sacred smoke practice.

Smoke cleansing refreshes both personal energy and the energy of a room. It clears the auric field, and it rids a space of unwanted and/or negative energy.

Spiritual Self-Care Tip: Cleansing Your Tarot Space

It can be difficult to feel relaxed and ready for a tarot ritual in a messy space. When in chaotic, unorganized places, your energy can often reflect that environment. Infusing a cleaning routine with magical intent is a great way to prepare a ritual location for a reading—plus, it’s just good spiritual hygiene. There are many ways to do this. You can:

• Play recordings of crystal singing bowls or other meditative sounds while you clean
• Use sage-infused cleaning products (sage is an energetically cleansing plant)
• Create a floor-washing solution with spiritually purifying essential oils such as lavender
• Burn magically dressed candles that feature uplifting essential oils

Spiritual Self-Care Activity: Smoke Cleanse with Sage

Smoke cleansing can also be used to cleanse residual energy from objects! You can smoke cleanse all second-hand objects that come into your possession to make sure they’re filled with nothing but positive vibes. Use the following guide to smoke cleanse with sage:

Items Needed:

1 small fire-safe container
1 bundle dried sage
A lighter or matches

1. Use light or matches to light one end of the dried sage bundle in fire-safe container.
2. Use lighter or matches to light one end of dried sage bundle in fire-safe container.
3. Blow out the flame after a moment or two, leaving the end smoking steadily.
4. Walk around the room with the container of sage, making sure the smoke wafts into every corner.

You can also say protective prayers or chants while doing this cleanse. Here is one example: “Chase away things that cause fright. Leave only love. Leave only light.” Perform this ritual weekly throughout your home as energetic maintenance. It can also be done when someone in the home is experiencing nightmares, after arguments, and before spiritual activities like reading tarot.

Filling the space with a cleansing aroma will set the perfect tone for reading tea leaves, trying out a new tarot playlist, or performing any other practice you enlist to prepare your energy for a tarot reading. Be sure to explore different scents as you gain experience reading tarot to find out which ones are most helpful to you.

Heartwings Love Notes 910: The Gift of Christmas

Heartwings says “The gifts given at Christmas symbolize the true gift of this special day.”

While generally speaking Thanksgiving is about being thankful, for many people Christmas is about gift giving. One of my favorite Christmas legends is an Italian one about La Befana. An old lady who missed out on the actual birth of the holy child, and so hoping give to him, she leaves Christmas gifts for all children. Giving at this season is a tradition so old that it is present in a part of humanity called the collective unconscious.

Many people at this time disregard that and deplore gift giving, calling it a symbol of our greedy society. They may be right in their way; however, I wonder if they have considered the inspiration to give that is inherent in Christmas. Note that the focus in many ads is all about buying for others, for those on your Christmas list. No one has much to say about buying gifts for yourself. Actually, it is a good idea to buy yourself a Christmas/Holiday gift-at least one.

I am a firm believer in giving to oneself as well as to others. That way you don’t feel deprived when or if you don’t get much back. To be sure, giving with unconditional love-likely the best way to do so, means giving without expectations. Yet this is much easier when you give to yourself, perhaps purchase something you really want, or buy a highly personal item that no one is apt to give to you.

I believe the true gift of Christmas is the inspiration to give that it inspires. Depending on their belief system, many will tell you what the basis is for this tradition. For them this may be very important, yet from St. Nicholas to Santa, from the Three Kings to La Befana, whatever the inspiration may be, the gifts in the stockings and under the tree spell Christmas/Solstice/Chanukah /Kwanza, and perhaps other holiday days, for us all.

May your gifts to others be appreciate and may you give to yourself what you truly desire.

Blessings and Best Regards, Tasha Halpert <>

PS I wish you every joy the holidays bring. If you have any stories of your holidays to share, I would be ever so grateful. Your emails are precious to me and I treasure them. You will always hear back from me, though it may take a while.

We Are Like Nature
By Madisyn Taylor

As humans, our lives are completely intertwined with the cycles and rhythms of nature.

Nature is a mirror, inspiring and teaching us, deepening our sense of belonging in the world. Wherever you look, you can see that our patterns and the patterns of the natural world are the same. You can find this resonance in every form, from molecules to plants and animals and to planets. We live our lives according to the same principles as the trees, the mountains, the clouds, and the birds.

We begin our lives in the womb, folded in on ourselves like the bud of a flower. We can see our whole lives in the mirror of this natural form. When we emerge from the womb, we slowly begin our unfolding, just as the flower begins to open its petals. At its prime, the flower draws many insects to it and also the eyes of appreciative humans. When the flower’s petals begin to fade and its life cycle comes to an end, it ceases to hold itself upright and returns to the earth. Traditionally, we return to the earth, just as all plants and animals do. Like flowers, we leave behind seeds in the forms of children and other gifts only we could have given. They continue to unfold even after we are gone. Rebirth is encoded into our lives, and death is just one part of the cycle.

Look around you, and you will find connection and insight. Notice how your moods shift from one to another like the sky shifts from bright blue to turbulent grays. Your thoughts are like clouds, appearing, changing shape, passing through, and then disappearing without a trace. The rain cleanses the sky, just as an emotional release cleanses your mind. The sky itself is your eternal awareness, unchanging underneath all these permutations. Let it reflect back to you your own abiding perfection.

As you walk through the world, find your own metaphors for connectedness in nature. Flesh them out fully and follow them as they lead you through the mystery and intelligence of life.

5 Rituals To Ring In Winter

The winter solstice-the point in the northern hemisphere’s calendar when the night is longest and the day is shortest-happens on December 21st. From the 22nd onward, the days will steadily get lighter, so the winter solstice is seen as a symbolic time of death and rebirth, the darkness inevitably giving way to the light.

Because of astrological, energetic, and cultural forces, different days in the calendar have a different type of energy and power to them. Look upon December 21st as a chance to go deep inside yourself and reflect, which is something winter asks us all to do. Create some sacred time to drop anchor, connect with your intuition, get answers, and set new intentions. It’s the perfect day to perform a ritual-here are five ideas to get the wheels turning:

1. Seek answers to the questions that this past year brought up for you.
What in your life has been dark for the past six months since the summer solstice, and what cracks of light are you beginning to see? What has been difficult for you since the height of summer, when the days slowly began getting shorter and darker? Maybe you’ve had some financial worries or issues with your boss, or you might have developed a chronic physical condition like a skin rash or stomach pains. Think about what has caused you the most consistent headache (either figuratively or literally) since the summer solstice.

A seed-planting ritual
Once you’ve identified an issue, sit and ponder some of the cracks of light you are beginning to see around this issue. Find something that has shifted in a positive way around this issue, and feel into the gratitude of that. Close your eyes and let yourself experience warm, thankful, hopeful emotions around this issue for a few moments. This humble gratitude energy is a great place to manifest from! Connect to your spiritual guidance squad and ask for even more light to shine into this situation in the coming weeks and months as the sun also shines more light on the world. Open your eyes and clap your hands. Then say softly, “As it is above, so it is below,” or “On earth as it is in heaven.” You have just planted a sacred seed in the Universe’s soil with your winter solstice prayer. Now it’s time to watch to see how it grows.

2. Connect with your intuition (three times!).
On the morning of the winter solstice, ask your intuition to give you guidance. Whether you are spending December 21st child wrangling or working at an office or getting ready for a holiday gathering, try to be mindful of the sacredness of this day. As souls in human form we are all sacred, but stopping to acknowledge that now and again can be a great way to open up and access our intuition.

A ritual for intuition
On the morning of the winter solstice, while you are in the shower, commuting to work on the train, or reading the news with your morning coffee, ask your intuition or your higher self to send you some important intuitive guidance via one of the four clairs. In my new book Angel Intuition, I offer lots of information and exercises to help you connect with the four clairs-clairaudience (hearing intuitive information as a voice in your mind), clairvoyance (seeing intuitive information as an image in your mind), claircognizance (knowing intuitive information like a download from heaven), and clairsentience (feeling intuitive information like the energy of a room, the emotions of others, or gut instincts). Touch in with this intention to receive guidance from your intuition three times today-once in the morning, once at midday, and once at dinnertime. (Three is considered a sacred or holy number in many spiritual traditions.)

3. Break out your favorite divination tool.
As the winter solstice is a sacred day on the mystical calendar that has been celebrated since ancient times, it’s an excellent time to use your favorite ancient divination tool to get divine guidance. Runes, the I Ching, a pendulum, a tarot deck…grab whatever tool you have handy or are most comfortable with.

A personal divination ritual
Set aside some time on the day of the winter solstice and go to a quiet room where you can shut the door to block out other people’s energy. Take a few moments to center and ground yourself-close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Once your mind chatter has slowed down and you can feel into and connect with the sacred energy of the day, get out your favorite divination tool. Hold the card deck, pendulum, etc., between your palms for a minute, sending this tool clear, healing energy. Your palms contain strong chakra centers! Now give yourself a reading. Remember that you are a powerful spiritual being and a natural mystic.

4. Journal about your winter solstice message.
Often during highly charged times, like Mercury retrograde or the winter solstice, we will receive a special message from the Universe. Discerning what this message is so we can use this helpful advice to improve our lives is all about having the time to mindfully reflect.

A ritual for reflection
At the end of the day on the winter solstice but before you get too sleepy, take out a journal and reflect on all the meaningful things that happened during the last 24 hours. Intuitive guidance from the Universe and your own higher self is often the memories that stick out in your mind at the end of the day. Sift through the worry thoughts and mind chatter to the gold-what interesting synchronicities happened today that popped back up into your mind again and again? Were there wise words you heard from a friend or even a stranger? Did you read an article that had you still pondering its message long after you stepped away from your computer? Did you have any information from your intuition come in today as ah-ha ideas, gut instincts, or strong feelings? See if you can compose your winter solstice message in one or a few sentences in your journal. This could be a fun exercise to do each year, and then look back in your old journals for previous winter solstice messages.

5. Think about what you want to call in in the new year.
What in your life is wanting to die so something else can be born? Is there a job, relationship, attitude, or habit that you know in your gut is on the way out? Maybe you already have had inklings of what might be born in its place, or maybe you have no clue (although, trust me, something better or more appropriate will be born). Winter begins dying tomorrow so summer can begin coming to life-find the parallel in yourself.

A ritual for rebirth
Find a quiet place where you can meditate for a few minutes undisturbed. Get in a comfortable position, put on some sacred music like nature sounds or soft instrumentals, and silently ask your intuition to give you guidance about what might be dying in your life right now and what is waiting to be born. Pay attention to any images you see in your mind’s eye, words you hear, or thoughts you have.

Twinkles in the Garden
by Stephen Halpert

“I fear our world has totally changed,” Twinkles said to the small bush growing beside him.
The bush sneezed. “You’re probably right; I’m not as tall as you, and you can see way off.”
“You are very lucky,” Twinkles said. “Because of just what you are, you can always keep your leaves and nose to the ground.”
“But'” the bush replied, “You think it’s such a big deal to smell everything all at once all the time?” Bush sneezed out his words. “That’s the plight of every bush I’ve ever known.”
In the distance Twinkles saw a light he hadn’t noticed or recognized before.
“I see a distant light,” he told the bush.
“Maybe not distant for all that long,” the bush said. “Light does move amazingly quickly after all.”
“And when it does it usually gets bigger and brighter,” Twinkles added. “It’s the nature of light to do exactly that.” He hoped that the light wasn’t coming from the big truck that took away all of the larger trees and caused everything in the forest to change
The wind increased and Twinkles felt the icy breeze blow through his branches. There was coldness in the air that he hadn’t felt earlier.
“You cold?” Twinkles asked the bush?
“I’m always cold,” said the bush. “From where I am, it’s all shade one way or the other.”
“I guess that’s true, you being so close to the ground,” Twinkles said.
Then Twinkles saw two young crows flying above his branches. They seemed to be looking for a place to land.
They saw Twinkles and perched atop his tallest branch.
“Well'” one said, “that wasn’t too bad.”
The other stuck out its beak. “How can you say that? All was almost lost.”
“But isn’t that the way it always is? If it’s not one thing or the other then there’s something else that’s difficult to contend with. Isn’t that how life always happens?” The other crow cawed
“Oh no”, said Twinkles. “That would be terrible;
The larger of the two crows sounded impatient. “That’s the only way things happen. Isn’t it?”
Darkness descended and magical small soft lights lit up the hillside.
Twinkles felt a sense of expectation. He knew something was either coming or going. But he wasn’t sure which. ” Everything starts and ends and starts again.”
“For really good answers to difficult questions,” the bush said, “it’s best to ask the fireflies. I remember when I was just a shrub hearing to always ask the fireflies.”
“They are very magical,” one crow said.
“They can make things happen, that’s for sure,” the other crow said.
“Like what?” Twinkles asked
“Like getting you off this crumbling hillside and instead putting you in a flower garden.”
Without knowing what a flower garden was Twinkles thought it would prove to be a step up. “How?” He asked the crows?”
“Firefly magic,” they said in unison. “We know it well.”
The larger crow began to caw and soon a swirl of fireflies encircled Twinkles and bush. Twinkles felt gently uprooted, lifted from where he was into the air by the whirling fiery lights glowing in the sky. Moments later he felt himself being set softly into the earth amidst a variety of colors, shapes and scents.
“Oh,” he said. The scent of flowers caressed his branches. “This is wonderful.”
“Sure is,” bush said. “And the ground is soft without thickets and pieces of rock.”
“But why are we here?” Twinkles asked the crows.
“To provide shade and enhance the oxygen,” they cawed. “Once you’re settled and the fireflies have had a rest, we’ll find a few other trees, too. After all, trees are beneficial to a garden.”
Bush spoke. “I guess just because something is a certain way doesn’t mean it always has to be that way. There can be change in the world.”
“Oh yes,” Twinkles agreed. “That’s the way of the world, isn’t it?”
Several rosebushes peered curiously at Twinkles. “What are you anyway? Why are you in our garden?”
“Yes, tell us,” others said.
“I’m Twinkles and I’m a tree,” he said. “I’ll give you shade and protect you from cold winds. And that’s my pal bush, we grew up together on the big hillside.”
The rosebushes didn’t seem impressed.”
“If you say so,” one said. “But we’re very content with things just the way they are.”
“You’ll see,” the crows said. “Everything is for the highest good.”
“”We’ll petition Mother Nature,” a gladiola said.”
“Yes,” agreed several carnations. “Next thing you know they’ll let in skunk cabbages and then invasive ivy.”
“There goes the garden,” moaned several large pink roses.”
“Oh dear,” Twinkles, said. “I guess all I can say is soon enough you’ll be glad we’re here to help out. Don’t you ever want any shade?”
Before they could think up anything more to say another swirl of fireflies swept into the garden and several small trees Twinkles knew from his days on the ill-fated hillside landed, taking root. Then a breeze blew over them all and their branches swayed, swirling the sweet scents of the flowers throughout the garden.
For the first time in longer than he could ever imagine Twinkles, surrounded by other young trees amidst flowers of all sizes and shapes, felt at peace.
“Just where we belong,” bush said. “sure feels good I must say.”
Twinkles felt his branches swaying happily in the breeze, “Sure does,” he said. “Sure does.”

Learning From The Holidays
By Madisyn Taylor

Holding the holidays in your heart throughout the year it can be wonderfully transformative.

Holidays and joy are two elements of our lives that are naturally intertwined. Traditional celebrations awaken within us an ardent desire to reconnect with the people we care about and to share our abundance. During the holiday season, we feel more driven to actively practice compassion, tolerance, selflessness, and gratitude. When we feel stressed, we find peace in the company of loved ones. And, filled with warm thoughts, we endeavor to ensure that others can share in our celebrations. Yet while happiness and holidays go hand in hand, the serenity and optimism that blossom within as we act on our festive feelings need not be relegated to a few days or weeks each year. We can carry the holiday spirit within us all year long if we make an effort to embrace a celebratory frame of mind no matter what the date.

Holding the holidays in your heart can be wonderfully transformative. Changing your life can be as simple as thinking about the uplifting activities you engage in and the positive attitudes you adopt during the holiday season and then integrating them into your daily life. If you learn to always be as open to wonder as you are around the holidays, the world will seem like a more magical place, whether it is December, March, or August. While holidays represent a great opportunity to reconnect with family and friends, there is little preventing you from reaching out to the people you care about throughout the year. The patience, compassion, goodwill, and tolerance you feel while celebrating can easily become a part of your everyday experience. Likewise, you will soon discover that the generous charitable gifts you give once a year mean just as much during other months and are often needed even more.

To remind yourself of your decision to carry the holiday spirit in your heart, consider displaying some small part of your holiday décor to signify your commitment. Remember that giving, whether your gifts are tangible or of the soul, always feels good, whatever the occasion. However you prefer to celebrate the holidays, practicing the ideals of the season every day means experiencing the beauty of the holiday season all year long.

Yummy Dips for Holiday Parties!

How To Make Jalapeno Dip With Roasted Garlic

First, you need to roast the garlic heads. I usually roast them when making roasted vegetable foil packets. That way I have veggies ready as a side (for dinner) and garlic ready for the dip.

How to make Roasted Garlic Jalapeno Dip- Step 2

How long does it take to roast garlic?

It takes about 30 minutes. The whole process is simple. You need to cup about a third of the garlic top off, leaving the cloves exposed a bit. I also peel off some of the outer skin. Then place each garlic head onto a sheet of tin foil (aluminum foil). Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt, pepper and sweet paprika. Wrap them in the foil and bake. Let the garlic cool off before peeling it. It should come out easily, with minimum effort.

Then, get your food processor ready. Measure all the ingredients and throw them into the processor. Process until well combined. Taste it and add more seasoning, if desired.

Roasted Garlic Jalapeno Dip Party Appetizers

Useful tips

Roast the garlic ahead (maybe a day or two before your party) to save some time. Just keep it whole in the fridge (wrapped in aluminum foil) until ready to use.
I like serving this roasted garlic jalapeno dip in a muffin tray with some chips or crackers. Now it is completely up to you what you decide to serve this dip in and with.
You can substitute Greek yogurt with Natural unsweetened yogurt. Sour cream will also work well here.
The jalapenos I used were from a jar (Old El Paso brand). I have not tried using fresh jalapenos to make this dip.
This dip is perfect for entertaining at home.

Homemade Roasted Garlic Jalapeno Dip with Tortillas

Guys, throwing a party might be a little overwhelming, especially when you are new to it. That is why tips for entertaining at home come always handy! They help us set our priorities right, outsource certain tasks (if needed) or just point us to the right direction.

My advice to anyone who is about to throw their first party is to get organized well ahead. When you know what is the theme of your party, then plan the menu. Always take into consideration your guests’ food restrictions/diets … and only then plan the rest of the things (decorations, entertainment, …).

Weekly Horoscopes Beginning Sunday, 22 December 2019

If you`re born within cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you`re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You`re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.

Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don`t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.

Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Recently you`ve been juggling events as exciting as they`ve been unanticipated.. Initially, you tried to impose control, but have since learnt what`s least welcome is a timely breakthrough, if in disguise. It`s the same this week and next. Planning ahead? Wait until early January, when you`ll have a better understanding of what`s taken place, enough you and others will turn the current disarray to your advantage.

An unexpected turn of events or words you overhear may cause you to reconsider aspects of your professional life. You`re wondering whether cutting people off or ending old ties might be the solution to this problem. After all, it is the end of the year, and it feels like a good time to bring chapters of your life to a conclusion.. Think before you speak. Giving a secret away could have unfortunate consequences, either on yourself or on the person you accidentally betray.

Between this weekend and next there is a Solar Eclipse in another of the Cardinal signs, Capricorn. Eclipses bring beginnings and endings. In your case, this one should affect career issues. At the very least it seems likely that by the end of the year you will have determined a fresh course of action. Indeed, this may have been brewing for some time. It is likely however that change will be thrust upon you. Not all Aries individuals are the same: some enthusiastically jump at opportunity whilst others have to be forced into making any changes. Yet both groups could be much affected by decisions taken by others between this Sunday`s solstice. It`s perhaps noteworthy that for the first time in over a decade, the Sun and Jupiter align at the apex of your solar chart on 2th7. It could be that you receive an accolade that makes significant difference to your outlook.

Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20

Your horoscope for this week:

The unpredictable events you`re facing can`t be avoided. However, you can decide to go with the flow, even if that means abandoning plans, some longstanding. With your ruler Venus in a new position, and accenting changes in elements of your life, this isn`t about doing things the way you always have. Knowing that, approach even unwelcome changes as an adventure. You`ll soon find you`re actually enjoying them.

Giving in to unreasonable demands will take its toll on your health and relationships. This is as much your Christmas as anyone else`s. Be sure to make time for yourself to relax, have some fun and unwind. If you feel under pressure to make this a special time for your family and friends, you`re taking on too much. Believing a gossipy neighbour will reflect badly on you. Whatever you do, don`t pass on rumours that you hear. When anyone asks if you have heard them, say nothing.

This week`s solar eclipse obviously affects all signs. Coinciding as it does with Venus` transit of the apex of your solar chart it could be that having been mentioned in dispatches, that it`s suggested that you consider developing your career through training or retraining. A travel opportunity could appear too. By the end of January there is a significant build-up of planets in another of the Earth signs, Capricorn. Again, obviously this affects all signs. For Taurus though, this is all about expertise and recognition. By next Friday and with others encouraging you to explore new areas, you could be breaking out of your comfort zone by considering an adventure that even those who know you well would have thought off-limits.

Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Normally, you`re not only superb at dealing with even unexpected events, you`ll help others cope. Yet this isn`t just about plans but certain already tricky financial or business matters. Tempting as it is to seek a quick fix, take it slowly, knowing Thursday`s powerful eclipsed New Moon will trigger yet more changes. For now, focus on exploring your options, and encourage others to join you.

A fundraising event you helped organise could bring you some recognition. You never expected to receive so much praise for your efforts but it will feel good. People admire your ability to make things happen. It may be a time for giving but don`t be so generous that others start to rely on you too heavily. Refuse to be a servant to your family even if it means reminding them that you deserve a rest from everyday chores too. Take some time out to yourself.

This week begins with the solstice. It also includes a solar Eclipse and, on Friday, a major aspect between the Sun and Jupiter (which has recently changed signs). All told, this suggests a fresh approach will be needed. Yes, you could feel brought down to earth. You might also be apprehensive as to future possibilities. Not everyone can experience highs all the time and there may be moments this week when you feel decidedly down. Note however, that around eclipses, the Earth`s magnetic field is altered and it`s not unusual to feel unsettled as a result. Note too, that others are likely ready to listen to you and your fears. By next weekend they might also be ready to give the practical support you need to launch in fresh direction.

Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22

Your horoscope for this week:

If you`ve already been exploring your options, you`ll already have recognised that both what you`re dealing with and the general mood is unsettled. With two eclipses, on Thursday and the potentially life-changing Cancer eclipsed Full Moon on 10 January indicating breakthroughs, for now you`re urged to focus on what could go. Think ahead, but actual plans should wait until the dust settles, in mid-January.

You enjoy keeping busy and even with help from your family, you could be the one doing most of the planning, nurturing and organising this Christmas. You`re going to be thrown together with relatives from a distance and friends you`ve not seen for some time and you`ll be spending a lot of time in each other`s company. As much as you try to avoid tension, petty jealousies will rise to the surface. Try to stay as cool, calm and collected as possible.

A solar eclipse in your opposite sign on Thursday is not the only significant event this week. That event is followed by the Sun`s alignment with Jupiter (also in Capricorn). Indications are that those close to you will be embracing new ideas and adventures and possibly job opportunities. Yes, this could be unsettling: yet you might also be excited – particularly if you`ve felt that it`s been all work and no play for some time. Change might allow for better balance. won`t be through this storm for some weeks yet. For now, focusing on adventures and in particular, alliances made with those who share domestic challenges and who could perhaps bail you out as often as you assist them, should ensure that you close the year feeling that you`ve grappled with a constant problem and now have a potential solution.

Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Not that life`s been dull lately; but the ideas, offers and unexpected changes coming your way between now and mid-January will be as thrilling as, occasionally, they`ll be exhausting. The trick to dealing with these is to learn what you can at the time, sharing the facts with those who`d be involved, then move on; and, if you must give feedback, do so, but make no promises.

You`ve always been friendly and sociable and you`re excited to end the year on a lively note. Even so, do your best not to go overboard and leave yourself penniless in the New Year. There are many cheap and cheerful ways of having fun.. Make time for your favourite hobbies. You might also want to put some time aside for spiritual pursuits. Studying different types of belief systems or just contemplating the meaning of life will be enlightening.

Between this weekend and next there is a Solar Eclipse. Such events usually mark special moments but not always on the day itself. Celestial drama is often mirrored on earth. That may well be the case this time given that within 24 hours of this event the Sun`s alignment with Jupiter (the largest planet in the known solar system). This then could be an exciting week for everyone. Property matters may be raised again, – and again; and yes, there may be moments when you feel ambushed when it`s revealed that your plans and those of others are not in alignment. Readjustment could take all of January. Whether this affects your work or home environment (and clearly much depends on your personal chart), it would be unsurprising if much discussion centred on environment improvement. What may be important is to determine exactly where and how you work best and indeed, where you want to operate from in 2020.

Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22

Your horoscope for this week:

You pride yourself on keeping your word. While this is a virtue, you and the rest of the world are in a period of frequent, exciting yet often unsettling change. Knowing that, ensure your plans are flexible enough you can adapt to, if not benefit from, those changes as they arise. Better yet, get others to join you in exploring your options. You`ll be glad you did..

It might feel like the bright lights of Christmas highlight the fun everyone else is having while a few, including you, are doing all the work. Delegate festive chores if you feel others are taking your helpful nature for granted. Be versatile to be happy, this Christmas. Your family want to live their lives in less rigid ways and it will only cause tension if you try to rein them in. Don`t be reluctant to break from tradition and celebrate the festive season in new and different ways.

Jupiter has only been moving through the research and development area of your solar chart for the last couple of weeks. So, these are still early days. A solar eclipse in the same area on Thursday should be viewed as a key moment. Perhaps because you`re relaxed during the festival period or because you`re with people you don`t normally see, ideas could flow thick and fast and be rather different to those you were incubating even just a month ago. In short by next weekend you could – at least as far as others are concerned, – appear to `go off on one`. Yes, it might seem that you are chasing a rainbow. It`s as likely that a cosmic message has landed and is full of potential. If you haven`t been given one as a gift, buy a notebook and get those ideas down on paper.

Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Accepting the fact that most of what`s planned won`t go as expected and that everybody, including you, will be on edge isn`t easy; but once you stop worrying about it, you`ll be in the perfect frame of mind to deal with the amazing, if unsettling, events triggered by Thursday`s eclipsed New Moon and the accompanying breakthroughs. Explore everything. What seems least promising could turn out to be spectacular.

Your thoughts are clouded by the contradictory advice everyone is offering. You`re tired of well-intentioned friends giving opinions you never asked for. Past disappointments or delusions aren`t helping either. You will enjoy taking a trip to a secluded spot where you can think. Money and friendship are not a good mix. It`s entirely up to you whether you lend money but bear in mind that it may never be repaid. While you are out shopping, a fabulous outfit could catch your eye.

This week`s Solar Eclipse accents the very base of your solar chart. A day later, the Sun aligns with Jupiter in the same area. These are important events. They come hard on the heels of the Sun aspecting Uranus which is travelling through another of the Venus-ruled signs, Taurus. Put together, all this suggests your working life could be about to change – and quite likely in a good way. You may need to find a more structured rhythm. Given that those of your sign crave balance, this could suit you go so well. It`s possible too that you`ll attract significant attention – and from people who work at some distance away from you or who have international connections. On that note, you should also consider developing a new database or filing system for 2020. The potential for improving your asset base is great but will require effort. Your lazy Libra sub personality might need to go into hiding – at least until next weekend whilst through this week, you focus on strategy.

Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Once you accept the fact sudden and, often, unsettling changes are inevitable, you`ll try to plan for them. That`s your nature. However, just this once, you`re urged to stand back and let events unfold as they must. Then make a point of exploring everything, including what seems unwise if not just plain disastrous. The more you learn, the more excited you`ll be about the latter..

Be sensible both in money and in romance. Pandering to a loved one`s expensive tastes could seriously affect your bank account. A partner needs a guiding influence. Serve as an example of someone who is in charge of their money. Encourage your other half to keep a list of their spending to allow you to work out where cash is being wasted. You are ready to set new goals. Be ready to break away from people or past experiences that are still holding you back.

This should prove one crazy, crazy week for everyone – and not simply because of end of year festivities. Fact is that there is a Solar Eclipse and the Sun makes formidable alignment with both Uranus (in your opposite sign) and then with Jupiter (largest of the known planets). Meanwhile, Venus moves over the base of your solar chart and yes, you might feel the need to retreat into your cave. Yet others will no doubt find their way in: blasting you with ideas and plans. It would be understandable if you wanted to retreat further and further into your cave – finding this noise all too much. Yet consider, it may be that close friends and colleagues simply can`t get on with their plans without your assistance. These then could be exciting times with work opportunities being suggested and yes, the potential for you to move forward in altered direction in 2020.

Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21

Your horoscope for this week:

Usually you`re the first to learn about and delve into intriguing ideas, offers or plans. Yet you`re currently bizarrely unsure what to focus on and, instead, are decluttering your life and plans. The timing is perfect. When fiery Mars moves into Sagittarius on 3 January, you begin a powerful cycle of exploration. The less baggage from the past there is to hold you back, the better.

Christmas cards, letters and other communications will stir up memories of childhood. Don`t be surprised if someone asks you to write down your reminiscences, for future generations to read. Whether you`re working or trying to keep on top of household chores, ask for support when you need it. Delegate festive tasks and make sure everyone does their fair share. Try to make this week a happy one by encouraging goodwill and benevolence in others.

Expect to feel really different by next weekend. Not only is there the solstice to encounter this Sunday, but that`s followed by the Sun making special aspect to Uranus, followed by a Solar Eclipse and then the Sun`s annual alignment with your ruling planet, Jupiter; and yes, it could feel as though the Earth has indeed moved. By next Sunday, 29th, Mercury will have left your sign. Talking through issues before then will surely be helpful – especially as the Moon passes through your sign midweek. Yet festivities could get in the way of discussing long-term career options. Anticipate too that others may well be changing direction and have much to discuss with you. They will perhaps appreciate your take on developments. Your need to broaden your horizons will likely grow too and possibly lead to considering either undertaking a course of study or offering to teach in 2020.

Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19

Your horoscope for this week:

If you`re into astrology, you may already be aware of Thursday`s pivotal Capricorn eclipsed New Moon, which is about breakthroughs, and in a variety of settings. Some have been in the air, but others involve elements of your life you`ve regarded as unchanging. In every case, focus on exploration, not decision-making. That can wait until circumstances, and your own priorities, are clearer.

You might wish you could go back to a time when the magic of Christmas shone through, and there was none of the expectation and pressure there is today. You`re making plenty of time for others but do have any space for yourself? Being able to do something enjoyable every day can make all the difference between enjoying this festive season and simply enduring it. Love is in the air and you could be in the mood to connect with someone on a very intimate level.

By next weekend there will have been a Solar Eclipse in your sign and for the first time in over a decade the Sun and Jupiter will have aligned in Capricorn. Doubtless there will be much for you to discuss. Opportunities it seems are knocking. Obviously much depends on your personal chart and for some Capricorns action may still be some weeks away – waiting for Mars` arrival in your sign. Even so, there should be signs of what`s to come. Property and family matters will no doubt require attention. It could also be that a partner`s career prospects are improving but that they will need greater support. Meanwhile, there is also the issue of you increasing your knowledge base; determining that in 2020 you could improve prospects through greater qualification. In all this, a Sagittarius will likely have a key role to play.

Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18

Your horoscope for this week:

Ordinarily, last minute changes in plan are a nuisance. At the moment, however, they`re a relief. In part they give you a chance to rethink longstanding, but increasingly unworkable, arrangements; but also, this inquisitive mood ensures you`re able to at least investigate the sudden and often thrilling ideas and offers coming your way. Even then, sidestep decisions. They aren`t nearly as urgent as they seem.

Go through what the possible outcomes might be before making any kind of long-term commitment. Instead of opting for purely passing pleasures, think about saving up for something special. If you want a new car or fabulous holiday, you will have to save up for it. Give yourself something to look forward to. Be open to new ideas in the workplace and be willing to give new methods a try. You might discover something exciting about yourself as a result.

Venus is moving through your sign and if you`ve been craving balance in any area of your life, no doubt that need will grow. This week it is unlikely you will be successful! Unexpected developments as the Sun makes excellent aspect to one of your ruling planets, Uranus, suggests you could be hyper excited. The fact that that aspect is on one side of the Solar Eclipse (26th) and is followed by an alignment of the Sun with Jupiter on the other, suggests the likelihood of you feeling that your world is turned upside down – but not necessarily in a bad way. Socially this could be truly exciting period. More than that, and where career matters are concerned, recall that Mars is still travelling through your career zone. It may be that there are developments on that front which give rise to openings in about three months` time. Being alert to all of this should result in you concluding 2020 on a high.

Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Recently, you`ve based plans on a hoped-for outcome, only to face something very different from what you`d anticipated. It`s the same now. Often, others want you to make long term commitments. Tempting as it is to do exactly that, then hope things work out, be frank. Sidestep promises and explain why. Others won`t just understand, they`ll be relieved because they, too, are facing similar situations.

Getting more fun out of life is a happy priority now. You want to spend time relaxing, enjoying the festivities and listening to music. It`s a great week for creative projects and for entertaining. An e-mail, text message or scribbled note in a Christmas card will take you by surprise. Someone will choose this way to share news that gives them so much to celebrate and you will be happy for them. Something secretive has been going on at home.

Between this weekend and next, the Sun aligns with one of your ruling planets, Jupiter. This is usually a special day in any year. This year it could be even more so. This event comes just 24 hours after a Solar Eclipse which itself is a fifth of a cycle from Neptune (your other ruling planet). So yes, this could prove one remarkable week. Your talents should surface. Far from being eclipsed, the spotlight could be thrown on them. Your ability to make magic is set to surface. With fast moving developments in other people`s lives, that magical touch of yours could make such a difference as they encounter great waves of change. Your ability to make fabulous presentation will surely be noted. Let`s hope too, that if you do receive gifts, that these support your undoubted creative abilities.
