From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

Llewellyn’s Spell A Day
Bringing the Autumn Rains
October 07, 2019 by Elizabeth Barrette
In a temperate climate, spring and fall are typically the rainy times. Summer tends to be dry, while winter brings snow. That is no longer as reliable as it used to be. So here’s a spell to bring the autumn rains.
To cast this spell, you’ll need some fresh colorful autumn leaves and some dry brown ones, plus a bowl of water. It’s easier to do this outdoors, but you can bring some leaves indoors if necessary. Dip a handful of fresh leaves into the bowl and sprinkle water in all four directions, then above and below. Say:
“Hear me, autumn rains,
wherever you may be.”
Dip the fresh leaves again and sprinkle water onto the dry leaves. Listen to the familiar sound it makes. Say:
“Come hither, autumn rains,
wherever you may be.”
Preferably, dispose of the leaves outdoors and pour the water over them.
Wish Bracelet Spell
October 08, 2019 by Kate Freuler
Get a piece of thread that is about ten inches long. Hold it in the smoke of burning incense while thinking of your wish, then wrap it around your wrist or ankle. As you make a bow, say your wish aloud. Now your wish is inside the bow, empowered by air, the element of communication and dream fulfillment. Choose the color of thread according to your wish:
Leave the bracelet alone and do not take it off for any reason. Forget about it if you can, and let it fall off of its own accord. This can take hours or days or even weeks. When it does, your wish will start to manifest.

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement in Hebrew culture, when Jews seek to purify their souls. Atonement (at-one-ment) means to be “at one” with ourselves. In twelve-step programs like AA and NA, the fourth step reads: “We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.”
Today, write your own inventory. List your liabilities and assets. Guilt, shame, remorse, self-pity, resentment, betrayal, fear, and denial have a place on this list, as do honesty, openmindedness, willingness, courage, faith, kindness, generosity, and gratitude.
Look at your list and say:
I see all that I am.
Fold the list in half and say:
At-one-ment. I make peace
with all that I am.
Fold the list again and say:
Atonement. I purify my soul. I see my
self, light and dark. I know who I am.
Going forward I am guided.
I am all that I am.
Place the list on your altar. Be at one with yourself. Grow. Change. Atone.
Make a Talisman
October 10, 2019 by Barbara Ardinger
Go out among the autumn trees and look for twigs lying on the ground. Gather several that are about six inches long and preferably forked. If you can’t find twigs, you can use six-inch pieces of doweling or Popsicle sticks or whatever else you think of. You can make these twigs into talismans for yourself and winter holiday gifts for your friends. (If you live where there are, alas, no trees that drop twigs, you can use Popsicle sticks or pieces of dowel rods.)
Gather these supplies out of your art and magic cabinet:
• Magical stones and herbs
• Mini squeeze bottles of sparkly paint
• Embroidery floss and/or ribbons
• Tiny feathers
• Other decorative items that call to you
First, speak aloud your intention for this talisman’s magic. Then paint a face on the twig. Depending on what the magic is for, tie stones, beads, feathers, and anything else that calls to you on the twig. Make it beautiful and fancy. (If anybody asks, you’re Making Art.)
Cast your circle and state your intention. Afterward, set the talisman in its best place or hang it on the wall.
In Service to Equality
October 11, 2019 by Blake Octavian Blair
Today is the birth date of Eleanor Roosevelt, America’s longest serving first lady. Eleanor Roosevelt was a strong civil rights supporter and served as a strong voice in favor of equal pay and benefits to be extended to all races in an administration with official positions that were mostly to the contrary. Even in our current times it is plain to see that there are many civil rights battles that are still ongoing. Let us remember Eleanor and continue to strive for the equality of all people as we examine our relationships to others in society. Light a candle and recite:
Candle burning bright,
Passion for equality may it ignite.
Illuminate the ways for me,
That I may be of service
to those around me.
Contemplate how you can make a positive contribution to civil rights movements. How can you help lift others and create positive change? Journal your thoughts.
Fire Spell for Strength
October 12, 2019 by Ember Grant
This ritual celebrates the characteristics of the fire element, helping you draw those qualities, as needed, into your life. Fire governs the realms of change and transformation, courage, energy, and passion. It can also be used for protection and purification and for banishing negativity.
Focus on your needs, including gaining strength, as you meditate on the element of fire. Light candles or incense or make a fire in a fireplace or patio fire pit. Contemplate the qualities of fire and the ways in which it’s essential for our lives. As with all the elements, fire can be destructive, so we must always treat it with respect. Chant:
Fire, in my darkest hour,
spark my strength and untapped power.
Bring me what I need to thrive,
to persevere and to survive.
Spell for Courage
October 13, 2019 by Melanie Marquis
Use this spell to increase your sense of confidence and courage so that you can face any challenges that arise with greater strength and bravery. Stand outside under the light of the full moon and sprinkle around your feet a circle of powdered cinnamon. Strike your most courageous pose and imagine that you are an allpowerful superhero with supernatural abilities as you invite the moonlight to pour into your body. Howl at the moon if it seems fitting, imagining yourself as a wild and untamable beast, fierce and full of vigor.
When you feel as if you’ve got a good fake courage going on, imagine lions, crocodiles, or other symbols of danger lurking just beyond the perimeter of cinnamon that surrounds you. Take a step or leap out of the circle of cinnamon as you say boo! at the imaginary dangers.
Heartwings Love Notes 901 It’s Soup Weather
Heartwings says: “A hearty soup is just right to take the chill from your bones.”
One of my favorite things about fall is that my appetite returns and I can eat more without gaining weight. Those extra calories burn to keep me warm. However I do not eat more empty calories: i.e. desserts, snacks, sweets. Instead I eat more vegetables and healthy carbohydrates. Soup calories are always good fuel for the body. Hearty fall and winter soups are made with root vegetables, winter squash, beans, and other appropriate ingredients.
Sturdy herbs like thyme, oregano, rosemary and tarragon add flavor and food value to these soups as well. I begin most of my soup recipes by sautéing chopped onion, finely chopped celery, and ground garlic (not garlic powder, it has less flavor) in butter and olive oil. The mung beans in this recipe can be found at any health food store if your market does not carry them, and are a nice change from the more commonly used lentils or other beans.
My mung bean soup is a little different from the average bean soup. For this hearty recipe sauté ½ cup onion and 1 cup celery chopped small in 2 Tbs olive oil and 2 Tbs butter until transparent. Add 1 tsp each of thyme, rosemary, curry powder, and ground garlic . Stir in 2 cups peeled, chopped firm potatoes and 1 cup or more sliced carrots. Add 2 cups beef broth, and 4 cups water. Bring to a boil and simmer for an hour or so, until vegetables are tender and soup is tasty.
Cauliflower has become popular lately. I have seen versions of it prepared in many ways. This is my cauliflower soup: Thinly slice ½ to ¾ of a large cauliflower and 1 or 2 large carrots. Simmer in 2 cups water until soft. Meanwhile, Sauté 1 medium onion and 6 cloves garlic chopped, black pepper and your choice of seasonings in olive oil. Mash simmered vegetables and add sautéed ones. Add 2 cups chicken broth. If you wish, thicken with leftover mashed potato or a roux made from 2 Tbs butter and 2 Tbs flour stirred over medium heat, add 1 cup liquid of your choice stirring until smooth and thick. Stir into soup and cook briefly. Enjoy in good health!
May your fall cooking be tasty and nourishing.
Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert <email@example.com>
P.S. Do you have recipes to share? I’d love to see them. It’s fun to try new ways of cooking and eating, and your emails mean so much to me. Thanks for them.
The Grounding Properties of The Dalmation Jasper Stone
also known as “Dalmation Stone”, is a grounding stone, in terms of the Earth and in reality. It removes disillusionment, helping one to see their strengths and weaknesses more clearly. Dalmation stone brings a sense of fun to one’s life and helps to increase loyalty in relationships. It purifies the blood and boosts the immune system.
Jasper is a methodical and meticulous worker of practical, down to earth solutions, promoting organizational abilities and courage to assertively tackle a variety of problems. This explains why jasper stimulates the imagination and transforms ideas into action. It has the ability to foster and nurture and its energy is used for grounding and protection.
This reputation of being a supreme nurturer is evident in the way it can sustain and support us through times of stress. It can benefit us with support during prolonged illness and has the ability to re-energize both the etheric body and the physical body. Jasper resonates with our bodies since it is a microcrystalline variety of quartz, therefore this is the reason why it brings tranquility and wholeness when it is around us.
It balances yin and yang. Considered more effective if it is used for long periods of time because it works slowly. Use this stone when you wish to encourage honesty within yourself. Jasper has been used to prolong sexual pleasure, especially, red, black and orange jasper. Each color of Jasper has additional, specific qualities when used alone. Jasper is very effective when using on the Root Chakra. Jasper has an affinity to Leo, Virgo and Scorpio.

What is Divination?
Hope/divine assistance. Union with light
Color: White, Violet

Tea: Heart, Heart of an Angel, Chakra Tea, Aura Tea,
Herb: Anise, Coltsfoot, Comfrey, Crocus, Frankincense, Hawthorne Berry, Hazel, Marigold, Mugwort, Rosemary, Wormwood, Yarrow, Yew
Guiding Principle: “Divine Assistance”, “Foretelling So”, “Beneath the Veil”
The Metaphysics of Divination
Traditionally, metaphysics refers to the branch of philosophy that attempts to understand the fundamental nature of all reality, whether visible or invisible. It seeks a description so basic, so essentially simple, so all-inclusive that it applies to everything, whether divine or human or anything else. It attempts to tell what anything must be like in order to be at all.
As far back as the 14th century, divination was considered the art or practice that would seek to foresee or foretell future events. Discoveries of hidden knowledge, usually by the interpretation of omens or by the assistance of supernatural powers was how it was perceived. Today, the idea is not so different.
Divination is considered unusual insight or intuitive perception. As intuitive beings, we often tend to let go of or loose sight of this ability as we age.Children are extremely intuitive and utilize this ability daily. As we grow older, it seems that we tend not to trust these feelings, images or concepts from our mind’s eye. They almost seem odd, irrational or just something that is hard to believe. The Art of Scrying, or another words, tapping into the super sensory powers of your subconscious, are just other ways of “paying attention”!

Holding onto regret is like dragging the weight of the past with us everywhere we go.
Holding onto regret is like dragging the weight of the past with us everywhere we go. It drains our energy, leaving less available for life in the present because we are constantly feeding an old issue. This attachment can cause illness the same way watering a dead plant creates decay. We know that something new and beautiful can grow in its place if we only prepare the soil and plant the right seeds. We also know that we create our lives from our thoughts, so dwelling on the past may actually recreate a situation in our lives where we are forced to make the choice again and again. We can choose to move on right now by applying what we have learned to the present and perhaps even sharing with others, transforming the energy into something that is constructive and creative for ourselves and others.
Forgiveness is the soothing balm that can heal regret. In meditation, we can imagine discussing the issue with the self of our past and offering our forgiveness for the choice. In return, we can ask for our selves’ forgiveness for keeping them locked in that space of judgment for so long. We may also want to ask forgiveness from anyone else who may have been affected and perhaps offer our forgiveness. By replaying the event in our minds, we can choose a new ending using all that we now know. Imagine that you have actually gone back into the past and made this change, and then say goodbye to it. Release your former self with a hug and bring the forgiveness and love back with you to the present. Since we are usually our harshest critics, it is amazing how powerfully healing it can be to offer ourselves love.
Keeping our minds and our energy fully in the present allows us to fuel our physical and emotional healing and well-being today. This action frees our energy to create the dreams we dream for the future. By taking responsibility and action in the present, we can release our hold on the past.
How Healthful Is Your Tea? Try These 4!
The antioxidants and polyphenols in tea may be responsible for some of its health benefits, such as stronger bones, lower cholesterol levels, and reduced risk of heart disease and some types of cancer – all of which are enjoyed by regular tea drinkers. Consider these types of tea in the upcoming winter months for healthful, warming treats that offer added health benefits:
1. Green tea. With tea leaves that are steamed, rolled and dried – a method that preserves the content of polyphenols – green tea is high in antioxidants. Its flavor is a bit earthier than that of white tea. Green tea is available in a range of varieties; Dr. Weil’s favorite is powdered green tea, known as matcha. Green tea provides EGCG, a polyphenol than may help to fight inflammation, lower cholesterol, prevent cancer and boost the immune system.
2. Oolong. This tea’s healthful properties (as well as taste and color) fall between those of green tea and black tea. It has a floral and fruity taste, and may help relieve itchy skin associated with atopic dermatitis.
3. Black tea. This is the tea that the English, Irish and most Americans drink. The oxidation process causes the leaves to change both their color and flavor, reducing the content of polyphenols. It is a hearty tea that has been linked to a lower risk of heart disease, colon cancer and the bacteria associated with cavities and bad breath.
4. Pu-erh. Highly valued in China, pu-erh (pronounced POO-air) is a dark red tea that is bold and earthy and the most oxidized form of tea. It may help to reduce cholesterol and aid in digestion.
An Experiment in Time, Part2 by Stephen Halpert
It was a dank, cloudy morning in April, 1865. The chill air and the threat of eventual rain made Adam huddle inside his inadequate coat. It was well worn and neither fit comfortably nor provided him the warmth he was used to. Feeling completely at sea in his strange situation, for Ann’s sake he did his best to give the impression he felt optimistic. What an idiotic thing I’ve done, he thought, I guess the Dean was right. Holding hands, he and Ann joined several dozen townsfolk along the railroad track as they all awaited the passing of President Lincoln’s funeral train.
A woman came over to them. “Ann,” her voice showed concern. “What’s wrong? You look ill. What’s become of your coloring?”
Ann had the courage to smile. “Just adjusting to the weather,” she said.
But the woman wouldn’t stop. “Are you sure?” She turned and looked askance at Adam. “Has he been pushing you too hard, making you finish those gowns for the Easter communion service?” She wagged a bony finger at him. “Women aren’t beasts of burden you know!”
“Oh I agree,” Adam hoped he sounded sincere. He looked to Ann for help.
“It’s just the changing weather,” she repeated.
“Like so many wives you go on defending him, taking his guff as though its sweet pudding.” The woman frowned and put her arm around Ann’s shoulders. “But Minnie Rathbone can tell when a woman has been pushed to her limits. I certainly have been pushed enough that way by my Willard. We women must organize and stand together for our equality. Once the slaves were emancipated we all prayed that President Lincoln would push for our emancipation too; but now, alas…” she sighed and shook her head.
“Maybe Andrew Johnson will pick up on his agenda,” Adam said.
Hearing the new President’s name spoken aloud, her lips twisted. “That drunken sot! All we ever read of him from Secretary Stanton is that he spends his days inebriated in the tavern.” She shook her head. “I fear he’s not much good to any of us.”
Adam nodded. He’d best be quiet and stay still. That history had condemned Edward Stanton, Lincoln’s Secretary of War, would mean little to these people and only further rile this woman.
“Well at least you finally bought her that sewing machine: second hand Singer though it be. I’m sure if you had your way you’d pinch pennies and make her hand stitch everything.”
Minnie’s husband, Willard, joined them. He clapped Adam on the back. “Don’t let Minnie raise your dander.” He glared at his wife. “You go on talking like that and Parson Wilkie will have words with you, woman. And if his warning doesn’t quiet you down he’ll take his strap to your backside like he does with the ornery children.”
He snorted and turned to Adam. “I hope you’ll help me with the milking. Our two boys are stricken with the croup and the cows need us.”
“Sure,” Adam mumbled. He wondered if he could remember how, from his brief boyhood experience with a school visit to a farm. How did they extract milk from a cow? Pull the udders, he thought and cringed at the idea. What if a cow kicked him?
“Here, dear,” Minnie handed Ann a dish of moldy gray lumps. “Have this porridge I made this morning. It will sustain you and warm you up. Oh Look!” She peered toward the tracks. “Here comes his funeral cortege.”
Thick gray smoke spewed from the slow moving locomotive now coming into view. Adam noticed an honor guard walking alongside one car covered with black crepe.
“I never thought I be this close to Abraham Lincoln,” he whispered to Ann. “What is that stuff she gave you to eat?”
“Porridge,” Ann said softly. “Here,” she showed him the dish of a gray curdled substance that looked deadly.
“Remove your hats and form a straight line,” boomed a stern voice that Adam figured was Parson Wilkie. He looked bent over, his eyes red, his cheeks ruddy. Adam noticed he had a wooden leg, most likely attained during the war. No doubt he was in constant pain.
Children threw flowers on the funeral bier. Both men and women sobbed as if they mourned a dearly beloved relative.
“The Great Emancipator,” several cried. Reverence and respect, was evident in their voices.
A short man dressed in his Sunday best approached Adam. He smiled. “How are my wife’s pantry cupboards coming along? Abigail’s awfully insistent about wanting them finished and installed.” He reached into his coat and extracted a suede bag that jingled. Smiling, he handed it to Adam. “Here’s a small advance that hopefully will speed your progress. I know a master carpenter like you has plenty of work, but her impatience is more than a man can bear.”
Adam nodded, smiled and put the weighted bag in his coat pocket.” He was glad that his father, an amateur cabinet maker, had taught him the basics about carpentry.
“I’ll be at it as soon as possible,” he bluffed. “But right now I must help with the milking. Josh’s boys are down with the croup and he needs my help.”
“Oh yes, of course,” the man said. He patted Adam’s shoulder and turned to leave. “It’s good to be helpful to your neighbor,” he said. “That way we all make it through.”
As the crowd dispersed Adam and Ann walked back across the field to their house.
“I didn’t know you were a master carpenter with a hand for milking cows,” Ann smiled. “I’m sure that will go over great at the faculty club.”
“And I didn’t know you were a fancy seamstress.” He smiled wryly. “I look forward to seeing some of your handiwork.”
“Yes. Actually I have done some sewing, though not on a treadle sewing machine.” She squeezed his hand. “Now I don’t want you to worry one small bit about any of this,” she said. Her voice reflected more courage than she knew herself to have.
“As long as we’re together,” he said softly.
The rain fell harder. Adam sighed and wondered what on earth he had gotten them into. “Sure,” he said and they went inside their chilly house. “After all we two, working together, can surmount any difficulties.”
“Yes,” she said. “We can, and we will. Why don’t you see if you can find some dry wood and get the fire going, and I’ll see what I can find for us to eat besides that…” she made a face, “porridge.”
To be continued.
Scary Vintage Homemade Masks
We tend to be greatly unsettled by photographs of vintage Halloween and the handmade nondescript masks. Why is that? It seems to be something inherent in us to need to see details of faces.
I’m reminded of the Michael Myers mask and why it was so effective. A simple store-bought mask of William Shatner, painted white, and it became one of the most terrifying visages ever!
What is he feeling? Who is he looking at? Is he smiling under that? Is he plotting something? The very vagueness of features leaves a mind to fill in the blanks. That is what true horror demands. It’s not what is shown creaking the floorboards in the hallway, it’s the sounds of someone in the home that makes the movie goer fill in the blanks with whatever their greatest fear would be.
This is the same issue with clown faces. They are painted on and inauthentic, perpetually smiling, and that is unnatural too. What is going on under that clown paint?
Let’s have a look at some vintage homemade masks and consider how very robotic and unemotional they seem. We can’t tell what the faces should represent and so our minds fill it in. Couple that with the fact you have no idea what the person behind the blank face is thinking and, true terror erupts….
Suggested supplies for making your own masks –
Brown paper bags, paper mache, a cheap drugstore-bought mask with a string spray painted, yarn, pillowcases, muslin, cloth flour bags, paper gift bags, muslin, cheesecloth, twine, burlap.
A great use for this would be to fill a box with scrap fabrics, simple sewn sacks, scarves, coats, hats, and plain fabric/paper masks. Allow guests to choose items and put them on for a vintage Halloween party that creeps everyone out! And don’t forget your vintage decor – Ghost Hunting Theories
Recipes Using Leftover Halloween Candy!
Assuming you happen to have leftover Halloween candy – take the raw form and turn it into something dessert-happy. Here’s the recipes –
1 package fudge brownie mix (13-inch x 9-inch pan size)
48 striped chocolate kisses
Prepare brownie mix according to package directions for fudge-like brownies. Fill paper-lined miniature muffin cups two-thirds full. Bake at 350° for 18-21 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Immediately top each with a chocolate kiss. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely. Yield: 4 dozen.
Mounds Candy Bar Brownies
2 Mounds candy bars
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup plain flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Melt candy bars and shortening. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients and blend well. Spread in greased 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350F for 25 minutes. While warm, cut into bars.
Candy Corn Bark
16 Halloween-colored chocolate sandwich cookies, chopped
1 1/2 cups broken small pretzels
1/3 cup raisins
1 1/2 pounds white chocolate, broken into squares
2 cups candy corn
orange and brown sprinkles
Spread the cookies, pretzels and raisins evenly onto a lightly greased small baking sheet. Melt chocolate in a bowl set over a pan of simmering water, or in the microwave, stirring frequently until melted. Remove from the heat while there are still a few chunks, and stir until smooth. White chocolate burns easily. Drizzle chocolate with a spoon over the goodies in the pan, spreading the top flat to coat evenly. Top with candy corn and sprinkles. Let cool until firm. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
Make package brownies per instructions and when you pull them out of the oven, press Reese’s into them so one is in each square.
Chocolate Peanut Butter 7-Layer Bars
1 box Devil’s food cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup coarsely crushed pretzels
1 cup peanut butter chips
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup Reese’s Pieces
1 cup honey roasted peanuts
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Liberally grease a 13×9 inch baking pan with cooking spray; set aside.
2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, egg and butter. Stir in the crushed pretzels. Spread the mixture evenly along the bottom of the greased pan and bake for about 8 minutes.
3. Sprinkle the par-baked bars with the peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, Reese’s Pieces and peanuts. Drizzle the top of the bars with the milk. Return to the oven for an additional 15 minutes or until golden and bubbly, and center is set.
4. Cool completely before cutting into bars. Serve warm or at room temperature. Best served within 1-2 days. Ghost Hunting Theories
Sharing Your Gift with Others
By Madisyn Taylor
Your earthly existence provides you with ample opportunity to explore your purpose and use your gifts.
The gifts we are born with and those that we work to develop throughout our lives vary in form and function. Some we find use for every day while others are only useful in specific circumstances. Yet many times we overlook opportunities to share our unique gifts with others. It may be fear of criticism that holds us back or the paralyzing weight of uncertainty. Ultimately, we doubt that our innate talents and practiced skills can truly add value to others’ lives. But it is the world as a whole that benefits when we willingly share our gifts. Whether you have been blessed with the ability to awaken beautiful emotions in others through art or industry, or your aptitudes transmit more practical advantages, your gifts are a part of who you are. As you make use of those gifts as best you can, be assured that your contribution to worldly well-being will not be overlooked.
Your personal power is defined in part by your gifts. To use your talents is to demonstrate to the world that you understand yourself and are truly attuned to your capabilities. Your earthly existence provides you with ample opportunity to explore your purpose, to utilize your skills in a life-affirming way, and to positively touch the lives of others while doing so. Yet you may feel that your gifts are not as valuable or worthy of attention as those of others and thus hide them away. However, every gift lying dormant in your soul has the potential to fill a void in someone else’s life. Just as your existence is made richer by the love, support, friendship, aid, and compassion of others, so, too, can you add richness to their lives. Your natural ability to soothe hurt, inspire compassion, bake, dance, knit, organize, or think outside the box can be a boon to someone in need.
As you embrace your gifts and allow their light to shine, you will discover that more and more opportunities to make use of them arise. This is because your gifts are a channel through which the universe operates. By simply doing what you are good at and also love to do, you make a positive difference. The recognition you receive for your efforts will pale in comparison to the satisfaction you feel when fulfilling your innate potential.
Weekly Horoscopes Beginning Sunday, 13 October 2019
If you`re born within cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you`re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You`re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.
Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don`t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.
Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19
Your horoscope for this week:
Every Full Moon brings both circumstances and feelings to a head. However, because the one on Sunday the 13th is in Aries, you`ve reached a turning point. Most decisions will involve your own plans and, especially, those linked to others; but, equally, this is about taking time to consider what truly excites you and whether you need to rethink your plans or even reorganise your priorities.
Someone will make it obvious they`re hoping for your help and support. This will cause you a lot of inconvenience. Even so, in doing them a favour this week, they may well pull a few strings for you in November. When you need their help in the future, you can count on them coming through for you. Entertaining at home will be a huge success thanks to a happy blend of friendly company and your wonderful talents as a host. Hosting a last-minute gathering will be fun.
It may be time to push the boat out. There`s strong likelihood that you`ll want to tear something down before rebuilding. In a sense, it doesn`t really matter this is: it`s simply an acknowledgement that to move forward requires clearing the decks. Determining the strategy for doing that should be possible by Thursday, with full steam ahead achieved after Jupiter arrives Capricorn in December. For now, it`s all about clearing space, obtaining estimates, reviewing costs and determining what it is that truly matters. Yes, in the process you could meet some opposition. Nothing you can`t handle and in fact, a useful exercise in that within the debate you make clear choices. Costs however are likely to be high. Before the end of this week you may need to show financial acumen and, over the weekend, determine whether or not a safety net has been compromised.
Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20
Your horoscope for this week:
The secret to dealing with this rather tricky week is to organise arrangements but ensure they`re flexible. That may seem a compromise, especially in situations that you question. However, with the foundation on which they`re based shifting, the less detailed plans are, the better. Meanwhile, get out and about, both asking questions but, also, considering the completely unexpected ideas or offers that come your way.
A friend who has some strange tastes will invite you to a religious or cultural event. All should go well providing you persuade them to stick to convention and not to indulge in any kind of outrageous behaviour. News concerning an old friend will bring mixed feelings. What was once important to you may not mean anything anymore and you could be surprised by how easy it has been, emotionally, to move on.
For much of this week, the Moon moves through your sign. There`s high probability that others will listen to your ideas. It may be that they are in the process of making sweeping changes and need your assistance to rebuild. They couldn`t have come to anyone better qualified. Your ability to work with a team, assessing the talents of others and making the most of their skills should be to the fore. In fact, the strategy that you employ will surely get you noticed and might yet lead to another offer before the weekend. Yes, at some level you could feel exasperated that certain tasks haven`t been attended to before now. You might also feel that a deadline is going to cost many people more than they think they have available. Yet with your powers of persuasion and your undoubted expertise, you could make singular difference to plans and even put in place a safety net.
Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Judging by the current planetary setup, you`re juggling an amazingly wide range of situations. While some involve tedious but crucial details, others are so thrilling you`re tempted to ignore everything else. Obviously, your biggest challenge is balancing these. This means being down to earth when necessary yet, when dealing with those thrilling developments, knowing miracles are possible – but that, still, certain practicalities can`t be ignored.
A team effort might hit a few problems. Although you will not have planned to take control, the only way to move forward will be to take over some responsibilities singlehandedly. A jealous rival will try to undermine your confidence. Don`t let them. You`re making some exciting plans for the future. This may mean pulling out of arrangements that aren`t as much fun as you expected. Not only this, but they`re taking up far too much of your time.
Until the middle of next month, Mars moves through the research and development area of your solar chart. This is the time to make notes, start a novel, and explore options linked to talents first recognised when you were very young. True, this might be made necessary by changes in the workplace that force you to confront difficult issues. It would be wise not to underestimate just how much you`ve learnt in recent years however. Recalling earlier power struggles and how you negotiated these and considering how you would tackle similar dilemmas today, should enable you to get on to the front foot in negotiations. Note that over Thursday and Friday the Moon passes through your sign; an excellent time in any month to articulate your plans. On this occasion, yes, you might wish to hold at least one plan back. This isn`t about being secretive, but awareness that keeping some powder dry will enable you to make amazing strides early in December.
Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22
Your horoscope for this week:
October is tricky, especially this week. Aim to tackle obstacles the moment they arise, as best you can, but then put them behind you. While that may seem a compromise, often, your efforts will be more than enough. This means you`ll have time to enjoy both happy moments and, better yet, be able to respond to frequent, unexpected and, often, astonishing ideas or offers.
There is too little common ground between you and a team you are working with. An ongoing disagreement within a group is preventing a team effort from moving forward. It could well be a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth. The best way to avoid frustration is to focus on your own affairs. Someone you disagreed with earlier in the month might get in touch with the intention of clearing up a matter that caused contention. You aren`t ready to discuss sensitive issues.
It would be completely understandable if you felt exhausted as the week began. That powerful Full Moon on Sunday, October 13th could easily leave you feeling exhausted. It`s probable however that with the assistance of someone gifted at timing (possibly a Scorpio), that your spirits could quickly be revived. Indeed, from Tuesday, you could take the initiative and move your career on to dynamic course. It`s next Monday, 21st`s Last Quarter Moon in your sign that marks significant turning point – capitalising on work begin back in the summer of 2017. Fact is that it should then be clear that you`re the one with the expertise and resources that others need.
Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Accepting the fact that even simple arrangements won`t proceed as planned may irritate you, at least at the time. However, once you learn more about changes going on in the background, you`ll realise why things are so unsettled. Take advantage of this opportunity to delve into arrangements, some longstanding, that are changing if not coming undone. What you learn now will shape your future decisions.
Seize a chance to try something new. You`ve never stopped recently and a change of scenery or routine will make you realise you can`t continue at this frantic pace. Unless you reduce your commitments, you will suffer burnout. You get to receive some first-class news about future travel plans which is gratifying. It will be a relief to escape the pressures of work and family life and explore unfamiliar places. A change of scene will be therapeutic.
A helpful image may be of a war in the skies. Deciding whose side are you are on may be unavoidable. Yet you might also see that as early as Tuesday it`s possible for a deal to be reached. What that might require is an altered approach and a vision. This is perhaps where you could come in. Your ability to see a bigger picture and a positive one should come in super useful. Yes, the property theme does continue and you`re right that boundaries will need to be considered. Yet far from being defeated you could yet triumph. True, the battle will likely get more intense next week but, by building loyalties now you could be in prime position to develop exciting options in early December.
Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Ordinarily, one of your strengths is your ability to focus on facts, both employing what you already know but, also, gathering necessary information. Yet with the foundation on which many arrangements are based shifting, what seems reliable may not be. While revelations may be disillusioning, as frequently they`ll confirm your doubts, even about what seems solid; and decisions? For now, stand back, wait and watch.
Returning to a project that had to be put on the back burner earlier in the year will feel like one of the best things you`ve done lately. You had forgotten how much pleasure some jobs could be and although it has taken longer than planned to complete, you could receive recognition for you`re a job well done. If you`re thinking about buying a new car or computer, this is something you don`t want to rush into. Research into various models before making your final choice.
There`s high probability of considerable discussion but perhaps insufficient action. This will likely not suit you at all and you could fret about this greatly. Yet it`s probable that others are relying on you to ensure that essential and necessary matters are kept on an even keel.. What might confuse you, is not knowing what it is that people really want.. By Thursday it may be necessary to put your foot down and to make clear that unless others reach a decision quickly, that costs are going to rise disproportionally. The fact that there is still so much confusion in the air is partly attributable to an intense planetary formation that becomes exact before the end of October. Know that whatever the situations are this week, that they are a temporary and that the important thing is for you not to feel swamped and overwhelmed by matters over which, realistically, you have little control.
Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22
Your horoscope for this week:
Between the insights triggered by late September`s Libra New Moon and the influence of fiery Mars in your sign until mid-November, you`re juggling a range of options, many appealing. However, some would mean substantially altering, if not letting go of, longstanding arrangements. While familiar, these are contributing little to your life. Saying farewell will be a relief and clear the way for thrilling new developments.
A friend will postpone plans already made because they can`t afford it. You will be disappointed but you also understand. You might even come up with alternative ideas that are more affordable so you can still enjoy each other`s company. You could do with some help with a work-related project. Even though your status in the eyes of your employer is high, there are still aspects of your job where you would appreciate some guidance.
This is supposed to be your best time of year; when the Sun is passing through your sign and this time is accompanied by Mars. Yet there is high probability of you feeling you`ve been drawn into a war that`s not of your making. With the equivalent of mental hand grenades being thrown at you on a near daily basis, maintaining an even keel will likely not be easy. You may be grateful therefore to friends living far away – and also to the advice and support of either a Sagittarius or Pisces – who see how hard you are trying to maintain balance. Amidst all this, the financial gears will likely be churning too. Yet you could turn a near spectacular corner before the Last Quarter Moon next Monday – even whilst knowing that in doing so, there are other rapids to face. You will though have made progress.
Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21
Your horoscope for this week:
Events are making it clear elements of your life are in transition. This is nothing new, but the pace is picking up. This is forcing you to recognise you`re a creature of habit but, even more, if changes are unavoidable, you want plans organised beforehand. Currently, however, that`s not possible. This means plunging in. Worrying as this seems, you`ll be amazed how smoothly things go.
Someone in the family is spending as if there was no tomorrow. You are ready to make some changes to the domestic budget as you can`t afford to handle their debts as well as your own. If a problem between you and a relative you are always clashing with won`t go away, it is time to issue an ultimatum. Your future prospects could take a knock if you ask a colleague for any form of favour. It would be best, for now, to battle on, on your own.
With both Mercury and Venus moving through your sign, your commercial antenna should be tuned and working well.. Having ascertained exactly where someone (most likely an Aries, cancer, Libra or Capricorn) is coming from early in the week, you could trim your sales to make the most of their planning – even if that brings extra work your way. By Thursday you should have a workable plan in place. True, you might be acutely aware of the difficulties to be faced at every possible level before the end of October. It might even feel as though there are several major wars going on and that you have to choose sides. Being true to you though is what matters most. A strong possibility is that you will declare you can`t go through with a deal unless someone understands completely your long-term aims and objectives.
Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21
Your horoscope for this week:
While you`ve been known to alter your plans, sometimes suddenly, you`re now struggling with the changes triggered by others. These are annoying, mostly because it`s unclear why, and some demand a serious rethink of your own arrangements. Bizarrely, even seriously irritating changes are doing you a favour. What you learn in the process will be informative now but, within weeks, could be crucial.
New routines are being established and these will work far better than you thought. A loved one who never takes too kindly to change will actually adjust to these changes with surprising ease. You have more time to focus on a job you want to get finished. It will take steady effort to keep this project rolling forwards but it will be worth it. You might find the help of a Virgo or Taurus friend of benefit.
Jupiter continues its transit of your sign and by Thursday, all eyes could be on you. Fact is that you appear to offer wisdom and understanding to which others are presently drawn. If you were standing on the Sun, it would seem that many of the planets are grouping together on one side. In fact, it`s not hard to imagine a tug-of-war developing. Many people will be confronting deep and difficult issues and yes, choosing sides. In determining what`s best, they may be drawn to you and not just for moral guidance. If there is a drawback however it`s that Chiron, the planetoid orbiting between Saturn and Uranus, is presently moving through another of the Fire signs. In helping others, you could reduce your own energy levels. It may be necessary to address fitness and health issues generally.. Clearly, it`s important not to take on more than you can handle. You should perhaps be wary of those who are a little too regimented and insufficiently flexible and perhaps even dogmatic. Never forget that your inner voice knows what`s best for you.
Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19
Your horoscope for this week:
The developments currently triggering changes in elements of your work or lifestyle may be unwelcome; but deep down you sense they`re timely. That`s not only true, the more chances you take and the more extensive those changes are, the more you`ll benefit. This approach may be out of character for you, as a cautious Capricorn but at the moment, it`s in your best interests.
Something someone says in the heat of the moment should not be taken seriously. They are blowing things out of all proportion and for this reason a difference of opinion should be kept in perspective. It would be a shame to let one mistake come between you and a friend. Failing to plan ahead or a lack of organisation will inevitably result in a project coming to a halt. You just haven`t got the time to give this matter your full attention.
Of course, every day is interesting. Yet this week could throw so many different types of challenges your way. The after-shocks of this weekend`s Full Moon may be felt for some time yet. There are complex configurations appearing on the horizon affecting everyone at the end of October. Yours is a sign with the justified reputation for being cool, calm and collected. Yet even you could be tipped over the edge. It would surely help to join forces: especially with those who understand legal arguments or who are familiar with the minutiae of a contract. Don`t underestimate your own ability to probe as well. Indeed, your questioning could lead to an altered approach being taken: one which operates on the basis of damage limitation.
Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18
Your horoscope for this week:
Ordinarily, when faced with anything from lively discussions or pivotal decisions, you know where you stand, so you respond swiftly and confidently. Now, however, events are taking you into new and very unfamiliar territory. As a result, you`re unsure what questions to ask. It may seem impulsive, but the only solution is to get involved, even if tentatively. At the moment, experience is your best, and only, teacher.
If money has been tight, the tide of financial fortune is about to turn. Expect to see a gradual increase in income. You might use some extra money to fund a creative dream. Accept an impromptu travel or social invitation. You could do with a change of scenery and it does you good to surrender to a desire for fun every once in a while. A good turn will be repaid before the week comes to an end.
Before the end of October your two ruling planets, Saturn and Uranus are each involved in complicated and likely to manifest as – commercial tugs of war. The build-up to this presumably began many moons ago. At this weekend`s Full Moon however, certain facts could be exposed. There might now be a race or urgency to complete a project before the end of the month. With many people taking sides and effectively creating even more traumatic and difficult situations, your particular gift could be to explain and yes, explain again why certain decisions have been reached. True, this will likely be exasperating. However, by Thursday, you could have an operating plan in place that allows for further dramas next week and which reassures those (especially Gemini and Virgo), that challenges can be overcome.
Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20
Your horoscope for this week:
Others` advice is always well-meaning and, often, helpful; but the matters you`re facing are so peculiar and, in fact, unique, that actually nobody can advise you. However, once you`ve figured out what to do, you can go to certain individuals for information, introductions or, if necessary, cash. Explain your plans and others will be happy to do whatever is needed. Still, you must overcome your pride, and actually ask.
An unbreakable date fixed some time ago suggests you will be entertaining a few friends or relatives. Although this will be pleasant enough, it will also be time consuming. You may need to plan your time carefully over the next few days or you won`t get a moment`s peace from interfering do-gooders. Someone in the workplace is trying to turn molehills into mountains. You can do without this kind of drama.
It might feel as though you`re having to dig deep -and at every possible level. For some Pisces, this could translate into actual trench digging whilst for others this is about exploring deep emotions. Career-wise, an archive could assume importance. The care and attention you give to this should get you noticed – in a good way. It might also be that you see the importance of maintaining a paper trail. This might even be a little unusual as those of your sign sometimes have a reputation for being careless or forgetful. Yet you can behave like the best Virgo (your opposite sign) ever. When you decide to be meticulous you excel. This particular trait could be remarked upon by someone either working within the legal community or in further education. In fact, education seems to be an important theme this week – with it being slightly unclear as to whether you are the pupil or the teacher.
