Light A Candle Today!
In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

Llewellyn’s Spell A Day
Fire Powder
August 05, 2019 by Kate Freuler

In a fireproof bowl or container, mix together one teaspoon each of powdered cinnamon, powdered cayenne pepper, and ground ginger. These are all spicy, hot herbs associated with the fire element’s realm of passion, excitement, and vitality. Charge the powder with these transformative energies by warming it over the flame of a candle or bonfire in the fireproof container. Let the power of the fire permeate the herbs.

To boost the energy of a slow or stagnant situation in your life, shake some of the herb mix onto the earth and command, Wake up! Then stomp on it three times, hard. The energy of the herbs, your voice, your intent, and the stomp of your foot will shake up the circumstances and get things moving.

( This powder is hot, so don’t get it in your eyes or mouth because it will burn!)
Enchanted Sounds Fairy Spell
August 06, 2019 by Elizabeth Barrette

The fae are known for their ability to charm people with beautiful music. They play instruments, sing, and tell stories with mesmerizing skill. You too can gain such skill.

For this spell you will need a bell, preferably of silver or brass but definitely not iron. Invite the fae to join you. Think about how charming their performances are. Concentrate on wanting to improve your music, singing, and/or storytelling skills. Then ring the bell and recite:

“Speak and be heard,
Clear as a bird.
Sing and be sweet,
Each note a treat.
Play and make song,
All the night long.
Now ring the bell
And let it tell
All of the fae
To aid your play.”

Visualize your skills improving as the enchantment of the fae drifts over you.

This is a spell you can repeat every time you practice. Keep the bell wherever you most often do musical activities.
Road Trip
August 07, 2019 by Emyme

In 1909, Alice Huyler Ramsey and three friends became the first women to complete a transcontinental auto trip, taking fifty-nine days to travel from New York City to San Francisco.

This is the time of year when many go on a holiday. How about a visit to Salem, Massachusetts? See the sights at what many consider to be America’s “birthplace of witchcraft,” a somewhat dubious historical distinction. Best to go before the secular visitors invade the spot in a few months. Or if your tastes run to more literary vacations, go to Tarrytown, New York, and visit the home of Washington Irving, creator of the popular Headless Horseman legend. Every state, every country, and every continent offers vacation sites both magical and educational. Make this a summer vacation to remember. New sights, sounds, tastes, new experiences and expansion of knowledge— travel brings all of that. Let us never tire of these experiences. Go forth and conquer.
Rue Protection Spell
August 08, 2019 by Devin Hunter

On a small piece of parchment paper, draw a pentagram. Between each point, draw an arrow directed outward, then dress each of the points with rue essential oil. Fold the paper three times, rotating it clockwise between each fold. Place the folded parchment in a small black pouch, along with five pinches of rue, a pinch of salt, and half of a dried lemon peel. Tie the pouch and then place it in the sun to charge for a few minutes until it is warm to the touch. Then place the pouch in both hands, blow over it three times, and say:

“Herb of grace, protector of all,
especially witches, I call upon
your strength and power so that
it may be one with this charm.
Rue, I call upon you to watch over
me and keep me from harm!”

Keep the pouch on or near your person for best results.
Safe Travels
August 09, 2019 by Deborah Blake

Many people take vacations during this time of year, which often means traveling, whether by car, boat, or plane. If you are going on a trip, try saying this spell before you leave to keep yourself and your loved ones safe. Waft yourself with sage or rosemary incense and visualize yourself and your loved ones traveling surrounded by a glowing white shield of protection. Say:

“God and Goddess, keep me
safe on my travels.
Watch over me and mine,
And protect me (us) until we have
returned home once more.”
The Sowing (A Modern Opalia Part 1)
August 10, 2019 by Storm Faerywolf

This is a simple multipart spell inspired by the ancient Roman Opalia, a festival devoted to the sowing of crops and the chthonic Goddess Opis.

You will need:
* Dried bean seeds (green beans, bush beans, etc.)
* A medium-sized terracotta pot with adequate drainage
* Permanent markers or paints and brushes
* Potting soil

Ground and center. Soak the dried beans in lukewarm water for about an hour. While waiting, design a sigil for your magical goal. Draw or paint this on the pot. Fill with soil and carefully plant the beans about two inches apart and one inch deep. Cover with soil. Enchant the seeds, saying:

“Opis, dark and down below,
Life from darkness rises slow.
Into the light, my future bright,
I will reap what here I sow.”

Place the pot in full sun, and water the beans each day while reciting the incantation and focusing on your goal. The final observance of this spell will take place on August 25.

Page of Cups – Reversed | Thinking of Leaving That Job?
by Biddy Tarot <>

The card drawn for this week is the Page of Cups – Reversed

There may be some-doubt sneaking in this week about pursuing a new creative project. Your inner critic may be on over-drive, or others are telling you that you’re dreaming – so you’re stalling and holding back. Ask yourself, “What have I got to lose here?” So what if the idea fails? Isn’t it better to try something and fail than never do it and wonder for the rest of your life what might have happened? And what if you didn’t fail? What if you were to succeed? Again, listen to your intuition to understand if fear is getting in the way and whether it’s time to just give it a go regardless of the outcome.

There is an aspect of your Self that wants to be expressed, but for whatever reason, you’re holding back. If your intuition tells you that your fear is of the criticism of others, then the Page of Cups urges you to move forward with your idea, but wait until you’ve moved out of the conceptual phase to share it.

Ask the Tarot: “How can I open my mind to all possibilities?”

3 Spells For Your Magical Child
Source Tess Whitehurst

When I was five, I had the good fortune of meeting a grownup Witch. Noticing my interest, she generously taught me some magical basics, like how to heal headaches and access my intuition. But even before that, I pined for magical guidance and invented my own little spells that I performed alone in my backyard.

Indeed, magic for children is just life: children are natural mystics, and they have absolutely no problem believing in the power of the wonders they weave. Which makes them all little wizardry whiz kids, as our belief in our magic’s effectiveness has everything to do with how effective it actually is.

Backyard Bird Blessing

To bring blessings, joy, and well being to you, your child, and the birds, and to facilitate a relationship with the birds, simply instruct your child to sprinkle birdseed in the backyard or to add birdseed to a bird feeder (of course, you can help with this part) as she chants,

“Birds be happy,
Birds be free,
Birds bring smiles to [Mommy/Daddy] and me!”

Repeat daily until the birds become a regular fixture, and continue the habit if desired to let your child’s relationship with the birds – along with the entire natural world – deepen.

Bubble Spell to Release Challenging Emotions
To support your child in releasing challenging emotions and cheering himself up, give him a jar of bubbles and show him how to blow them. Then, have him repeat these words after you:

Sadness, tears [or worry, fears], thank you for you.
You’ve been helpful and you’ve been true.
Into these bubbles, it’s you I blow,
So I can smile and let you go!

Explain that it’s great for him to keep feeling his sad or fearful feelings for as long as he keeps feeling them, as long as he keeps blowing bubbles. In time, the old mood will work its way out and transform into a more empowered outlook.

Peppermint Candy Healing Charm
To empower your child to heal her own minor complaint such as a headache or tummy ache, give her a peppermint. Have her hold it in both hands and imagine that it’s filled with very bright, golden white light like the sun. Explain that this light has healing properties and knows exactly what to do to help her feel better. Then instruct her to let the candy dissolve in her mouth, describing how her body will absorb the healing light along with the candy.

Five Flower Rescue Remedy

Five Flower Rescue Remedy is a combination of essences that is used in emergency situations to stabilize trauma situations. It eases fear and restores one’s state of calm and confidence. However, it is not intended to replace emergency care or assistance. This first aid formula of flowering herbs was originally combined through the studies of Dr. Edward Bach, a homeopathic practitioner who pioneered working with subtle flower energies

Rescue Remedy consists of these five essences:

Dosage: Ten drops in glass of water or juice, sipped as often as needed. If the person is unconscious or unable to drink the formula can be rubbed directly onto soft tissues of the body, lips, temples, inner wrists, etc.

Star of Bethlehem
This essence is a restorative remedy for calming anyone who has experienced shock or trauma. It has a balancing energy that is helpful in taking while undergoing counseling or therapeutic healing periods. Aids the grief process.

Rock Rose
This remedy is recommended in the event of life threatening emergency. It calms the individual when experiencing extreme panic, terror, or hysteria, restoring strength and courage.

This essence remedy addresses metal stresses and tensions. It calms feelings of impatience and irritability. It slows the tendency to move to quickly without care or forethought. Calming. Allows one to deepen his/her life experience without experiencing burnout.

Cherry Plum
This essence addresses emotions of desperation and loss of control. This remedy helps one re-connect with a higher power when the tensions and pressures of life are overwhelming. It brings mental calmness and emotional encouragement, allowing stresses and fears to be overcome.

This remedy brings about focused awareness. It retards floaty or dreamy escapes. It is a grounding essence that wakes up the individual to better evaluate the present situation.

Heartwings Love Notes 892: A Patient must be Patient

Heartwings says, “The job of a patient is to learn to deal with issues as effectively as possible.”

The operation went well and I am pleased that it is over. Now the work of healing is paramount in my life and the life of my dear and sometimes frustrated husband. I can’t bend past a certain point which means I cannot pick anything up from the floor or put on my shoes. When I tried to do more than was good for me to do I was incapacitated the next day. He’s not used to cooking or finding things in the kitchen or elsewhere, and it is difficult for us both because I can only help from the couch.

For me there has been a steep learning curve concerning what I have realized is my addiction to accomplishing what needs doing and what I am actually capable of. I have been a “doer” since I was small. I get lots of inner nourishment from this. Being capable and helpful is a great source of happiness for me. There isn’t much I can do now except work on myself to get better. However, as I discovered when I overdid the exercises plus the “doing,” the healing of this body cannot be hurried.

That said, what I am finding is that this opportunity to venture into unknown territory—my current state of incapacitation, is a blessing in disguise. It means that I am getting more help with the chief study of my life which is learning to know myself. Study of the self is one of he principal underpinnings of yoga. When one gets beyond the exercise aspects of yoga, there is a fine body of wisdom awaiting one. The exercise portion of it was actually intended to help the student to sit still while meditating  as well as to develop more awareness.

I studied and taught it for a good many years myself and found it to be very helpful in my personal growth. Now I am applying what I know to my progress as a patient recovering from total hip replacement surgery. In my efforts I have the kind services of the VNA and the good people they send me, as well as that of my dear husband. Their guidance is helpful, however only I can do the work necessary for my healing process to be complete. How happy I will be when the day comes that I can walk freely again. Until then, I will work patiently to be my own best patient.

May you find ways to use your challenges to help you grow.

Blessings and Best Regards, Tasha Halpert

Please feel free to share any of your reactions and responses with me. I do so love your emails and will respond as soon as I am able. It is always a treat to hear from my readers.

Most humans are not born consciously knowing what their purpose is – it must be found through exploration.

Most living things belong to a particular soul group and are born knowing their purpose in life. An animal will spend its day foraging for food, taking care of itself and its young, and creating a home. No one tells an animal to do this, yet it instinctively knows how. Humans, for the most part, are not born consciously knowing what their purpose is.

Purpose gives our life meaning. When you discover your purpose, you can live your life with intention and make choices that serve your objective for why you are here on the planet. Finding your purpose is not always easy. You must embrace life wholeheartedly, explore many different pathways, and allow yourself to grow. Your purpose is as unique as you are and will evolve as you move through life. You don’t need anyone’s permission to fulfill your purpose, and no one can tell you what that purpose is. Finding and fulfilling your purpose can be a lifelong endeavor. To figure out what your purpose is, ask yourself what drives you – not what forces you out of bed in the morning, but what makes you glad to be alive. Make a list of activities that you wish you were involved in or think about a career path that you would love to embark upon. These are the endeavors that can help you fulfill your purpose and bring you the most satisfaction.

Picture yourself working on projects that don’t interest you or fulfill your purpose, yet they help satisfy your basic survival needs. Imagine how living this way each day would make you feel. Next, picture yourself devoting your time to projects that spark your imagination, inspire, excite, and satisfy you. More often than not, these activities are some of the ways that you can fulfill your life purpose. Time spent on these endeavors will never feel like a waste. Live your life with purpose, and you will feel significant and capable because every action you take and each choice you make will have meaning to it.

Miss Mazie
By: Patty L. Fletcher

About The Book…

Blending Adventure, mystery, supernatural, Romance, and Suspense, author Patty L. Fletcher weaves a tale of fiction, all readers are sure to enjoy.

James Landing Tennessee was a peaceful little town just trying to keep up with its neighbors, which seemed to always be growing by leaps and bounds around it. Then one day Roy Dingus took over Friedman chemicals, a lady of unknown origin known only as Miss Mazie bought the old house on the outskirts of town and as the heat of August blazed with no end in sight, what was once a city with no promise came to life.
Follow the adventures of three small-town boys, Joe, Ronnie, and Jake, and their newfound friend Billy Ray as they try to unravel the mystery that surrounds the newcomers and all the strange goings on before James Landing is no more.

The Mid-August sun sank slowly toward the horizon like a hot molten ball of liquid fire. Sweat continuously ran into his eyes, and the wind scorched his face as if it came from the pits of hell itself.
“Why in blue blazes did I ever think this door to door salesmen job was such a great idea anyhow?” Billy Ray grumbled to himself as he trudged slowly up the graveled road toward the old dilapidated looking house at the end of the lane. “Anyone living in a house like that probably don’t have the money to buy a set.” He thought out loud, but he had to try, now more than ever to sell a case of bibles before end of the day. His worn-out station wagon had broken down a mile or two back and he had to have the money to have that old redneck mechanic he’d talked to at the gas station come out and see if he could fix the blasted thing. If he couldn’t do anything for it, he’d have to have it towed.
“WAHOO! WEE!” The three blond haired dirt streaked boys shouted as they came barreling out of the woods to his left. Billy Ray jumped back in surprise, dropping his satchel full of bibles as he did, and the boys stopped dead in their tracks at the sight of him.
“S…S…Sorry sir.” the biggest of the three stammered. “Didn’t know you was there. We didn’t mean no harm. Just havin’ a little fun is all.”
Billy Ray took a breath to steady himself and wiping the sweat from his face he said, “Ah, it’s alright. You just startled me. It’s not been so long ago since I was a young pup runnin’ through the woods with my friends like a bunch of wild Indians.”
The boy who had spoken stood looking at the salesman with mischievous curious green eyes for a moment then asked, “Where ya headed anyhow, if ya don’t mind my askin’.”
“Out to that old house there at the end of the lane.” Billy ray answered, pointing a finger in the direction of the old house, that looked like a good puff of wind would blow it down. “Last house marked on my route for the day.”
“Ah, I wouldn’t if I’s you sir. Miss Mazie aint likely to buy one of them bibles from ya, let alone a whole case.”
The other boys who had gathered around the spokesman for the group giggled shyly behind their hands.
“Don’t think so?” Billy Ray asked dejectedly. “Why not? Don’t she go to church like most other folks in town?”
“Nah. She’s a strange lady to be sure mister.” The middle-sized boy observed. “Keeps to herself, and don’t hardly talk to nobody when she comes to town to buy supplies. Says she’s gonna fix up that old house this year, but it’s middle of summer already and she aint done a thing about it yet. She keeps a big black brute of a dog out there with her too, and while I aint never heard of old Bubba biting anyone, it’s a safe bet he might if she told him too.”
Billy Ray sighed. “Well, I’ve got to try. Damned old car broke down a mile or so back and I got to get it looked at.
“Well, good luck.” The spokesman for the group who looked to be about 13 or so said. “if it was me, I’d charge the bill to Uncle Harvey and move on. Some say Miss Mazie’s a witch. Say if she don’t like ya and don’t want ya on her place, she’s just liable to turn the demons loose on ya.”
“Ah now. TSK…TSK… a smart boy such as yourself don’t believe such nonsense, do you?” Billy Ray chuckled as he picked up his satchel of bibles and made to head out again.
“Sir.” The oldest boy said urgently, grabbing Billy Ray’s sleeve. “I don’t know what I believe and what I don’t. All I know is that strange things been happening since Miss Mazie came here in the middle of spring and I wouldn’t go out there if I was you.”
“I’ll use the upmost caution.” Billy Ray said with a smile as he began walking again. “I’ll see you round boys. Maybe at the Friedman Chemicals Company ice cream supper tomorrow. Saw a sign for it at the gas station when I was talking to the mechanic while I was filling up. Did you say he was your uncle?”
“Nah, he aint’ nobody’s uncle that I know of, just a nice old man the town took in long time ago. See ya round, and don’t say I didn’t warn you. Momma says we’re supposed to show kindness to strangers.”
Billy Ray stopped and turned around, leveling his gaze on the boy. “Don’t that include your Miss Mazie?”
The big boy lowered his head and dug a hole in the gravel with his dirty bare toe, “Well, yeah, I suppose so, but I aint’ got to get the hounds of hell set on me in the process.”
“Well, thanks for the tip. I’ll keep it in mind. By the way? What’s your names?”
“Oh! Excuse our manners sir.” The boy said looking up his strawberry blond hair falling into his eyes, and a flush of embarrassment reddening his cheeks. “I’m Joe, the middle-man here’s Ronnie, and the runt of the pack is Jake.”
“I aint no runt!” The smallest of the three shouted squaring his shoulders and turning to Joe with his grimy hands balled into fists.
“Ah, heck Jake, I’m just messin’ with ya. Don’t get your fur up.” Joe said ruffling Jake’s dark blond hair and brushing a leaf off his chubby freckled face.
Billy Ray laughed. “Yawl sound like brothers. It’s nice to meet you, and you can call me Billy Ray. My daddy was sir.”
“We are brothers.” Joe answered. “I’m 12, fixin’ to turn 13, Ronnie’s 10, and Jake, who aint’ a runt is 8, and It’s nice to meet you too Billy Ray. See ya round.”
“Turned on your southern talk just a bit thick didn’t you Joe?” Ronnie laughed as they walked away. “Shush. He’ll hear you.” “Yeah, and momma’ll switch you if she hears you going on with that junk.” Jake warned. “Whatever. He ought not go out there.” Joe hissed.”
Billy Ray stood watching the three boys as they walked off together, grouped into a tight little knot whispering to one another as they went. Laughing to himself he turned and started again toward the house. “That Joe’s a jokester if I ever saw one. A lot more educated too, I’m sure.” Billy Ray observed. “Well, if nothing else, maybe Miss Mazie will offer me a glass of iced tea or lemonade. Hotter than all hell out here.”
Just as he stepped from the heat baked road into the dooryard a huge black dog slowly raised itself up out from underneath an overgrown bush and lumbering purposefully toward Billy Ray began to growl and show his teeth. “Well, you must be Bubba.”
“That’s right.” A gruff woman’s voice called from somewhere ahead in the shadows, and just who might you be?”

Staying on Track
By Madisyn Taylor

In a world where we have routines to get everything done, we rarely have a routine for our spiritual self.

In a world where we have routines for nearly everything–our route to work, our physical fitness regimen, and our weekday schedule–it’s amazing how many people forget to create a routine for meeting their spiritual needs. We run around in an attempt to be at our many appointments on time and meet our many obligations. In our efforts to be as productive as possible, however, our spiritual needs tend to take a backseat. After all, taking care of our spiritual needs doesn’t directly pay the bills or tone our abdominal muscles. We may even wonder who has time to meditate or write in their journal when there are more pressing matters to see to. The truth is that nurturing ourselves spiritually is what gives us the energy and grounding that we need to make sure that our lives stay on track.

How you choose to nurture yourself spiritually is a personal choice. For some people, meditating once a day may be what they need to stay centered. While spending 10-20 minutes with your eyes closed and your brain devoid of thought may seem like a lot of time doing nothing, this state of nothingness actually allows you to stay calm and focused so you can be as productive as possible. Writing in your journal everyday lets you stay in touch with yourself so that you are always tuned in to your feelings. Repeating affirmations for success, happiness, and well-being on a regular basis can help you live with optimism and enthusiasm and create what you want in life.

Having a routine for nurturing your spirit that you do each day lets you feed energy to your soul and can serve you well if your life suddenly takes an unexpected turn into a difficult period. This kind of routine grounds your spirit in your body so that you stay anchored in yourself as you move through each day. Nurturing yourself spiritually allows you to not only stay on track in your life, but it allows for your life to stay on track with what your spirit wants.

The Time Machine Part 4

The doorbell rang as they were eating breakfast. Emily opened the door. On the doorstep stood two tall men in white shirts, dark suits and narrow ties. Their hair was short and their faces were grim. Both wore sunglasses. The taller wore elaborate cowboy boots, the other scuffed, steel tipped wingtips.

“We would like to talk with your husband, Mrs. Case.”

“Yes,” Hiram said coming up behind her. I’ve been expecting company. Come in.” He turned to Emily. “Coffee for the gentlemen, Dear?”

All three sat at the kitchen table and Emily poured them coffee.

“I’m Smith,” the taller one said.

“Jones,” said the other.

“We’d like a look at your computer,” Smith said.

“I don’t have one,” Hiram said.

“He doesn’t use a cell phone either,” Emily added. “But I do. I keep recipes on mine so I can have quick access to them while I’m doing my baking.”

“Then how do you make people disappear?” Jones asked.

Hiram smiled and sat back in his chair. “I have what I think they call lucid dreams. In the morning I jot down what

little I remember. Truth be told when I read it over it’s gibberish to me.”

“Gibberish?” Smith said.

Hiram nodded.  “But once I’m in my workshop my hands seem to have a mind of their own. They move spontaneously.” He drank some coffee.  “I had no idea that what I was building would turn out to be a time machine.”

“A time machine?” Smith and Jones stared at him and then at each other.

“Last year,” Hiram began, “I bought an oversized antique steamer trunk at our church rummage sale.”

“What’s that got to do with it?” Jones asked.

“That’s when the dreams started.  I was with three men. They told me things.”

Jones cleared his throat. “And their names?”

“Copernicus, Leonardo and Galileo.”

Smith grimaced. Jones shook his head. “So what do they say?”

“I don’t know because I can’t remember.” He spread his hands. “Really, that’s all.”

“And that’s how you make people disappear. They get into your steamer trunk?” Smith’s voice was icy.

Hiram sighed. “I wouldn’t say disappear. It takes people where they want to go, or at least it has so far. That’s not disappearing when they return.”

“Perhaps you had better show us.”

He led them down into the basement.  Emily followed. There stood the oversized antique steamer trunk twined with wires, knobs and dials. He waved his hand toward it.  “Used by European gentry when they sailed the seven seas,” he quipped.

“Primitive,” Smith said, “Looks like something out of a 50’s Science Fiction movie.”

Jones  nodded.

“Look for yourselves, gentlemen.” Hiram opened the trunk. They checked it over carefully. The original cardboard drawers had been removed from one side, as had the clothes rack from the other. There were two cushioned seats built in.

Jones peered at the dials. “What do these connect to?”

Hiram pointed to the wires coiled around either side of the trunk.

Jones shook his head. “This doesn’t make any sense.”

“But it makes things happen?” Smith’s eyed Hiram coldly. “What you’re telling us is hard to believe. You’re holding something back, aren’t you!”

“I’m sorry,” Hiram said indignantly. “What do you want me to say? That some Martians or maybe aliens from Planet X have taken over my mind and they’re behind all this?”

Smith laughed. “Maybe now we’re getting somewhere.”

Emily’s face reddened. “Please, my husband is a well respected inventor and has been all his life.” She drew herself up and looked Smith and Jones straight in the eye. “And now he’s invented something as big and important as anything Thomas Edison ever did.”

“They went out and they came back, my wife and police Sgt Bugle. Ask them.” Hiram said.

“And they both came back? You brought them back?” Smith’s hand hovered over the dials.

“Well, not exactly, no. They came back by themselves. I haven’t got that part figured out yet.”

Emily looked excited. “I figured it out. I remembered how in the Wizard of Oz  that Dorothy could get back to Kansas just by thinking about her home, and I did too.”

Hiram smiled fondly at Emily. “When I asked Leonardo he explained what you did. He said everything happens at once and there’s no such thing as time. When you focus sufficiently on the present, then you naturally return.”

Jones face reddened. “You expect us to believe this hokum?”

.      Hiram shrugged. “You can prove it yourself. Get in and take a trip back to whenever you’d like. Go on, get inside and sit down.”

“Just tell him where you want to go,” Emily said.

“To last year’s White House Christmas Party on 12/18. We missed it then. Let’s see if we can go back there now,” Jones joked.

Smith shrugged. “OK, send us back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.”

“To the White House on 12/18.” Jones reiterated.

“The White House,” Hiram said. He turned the dials to 12/18/

They looked at him, chuckled and squeezed into the trunk. It was tight, and they were bent almost double but they managed to fit in.

“Now remember,” Hiram said as he closed it.  “The best way to get back is to think really, really clearly about exactly where you want to return to.”

Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19

Your horoscope for this week:

As much as you enjoy the good life, and recently things have been exactly that, you`re aware that soon several practicalities will need attention. You`re right and, in fact, the move by your ruler Mars to accent these on the 18th begins a cycle of focus on exactly such matters. So, for now, indulge yourself in each and every one of life`s joys.

Trust your intuition about a money transaction or job-related problem. If you`ve gone as far as you can in a particular field, it is time for a change. You are tired of people who put too much emphasis on making money. Take the chance to promote a pet project. Actions will speak louder than words so if you promise someone you will do something for them, let them see you mean it. Volunteer work for a local charity will cultivate happiness.

Whether you`re on holiday or at work, this could prove one heck of the week. Not only is there a Full Moon on Thursday but that`s preceded by the Sun`s annual conjunction with Venus. Two days earlier on Monday, both Jupiter and Uranus arrive at stations just as the Moon occults Saturn. You might not need to know all this – but it should underline the fact that important cosmic events are taking place. That might well lead to Aries decision making (and risk-taking!). Whether that`s pre-empted by Cupid`s arrow or because you discover at work a passion and depth of feeling for a project that will be under your control for the next couple of years, the point is that you should be geared up to act differently and yes, perhaps to take risks. It`s surely important that there is someone around that you can trust to look after your safety. At every level, having a mentor to guide you would be advisable.

Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20

Your horoscope for this week:

For ages you`ve been tiptoeing around decisions that regard life`s joys. You`d think these would be easy but because they involve new activities, pursuits, pleasures or, perhaps, somebody becoming increasingly important, you`re unclear what to do. While many of these decisions are mostly practical, those that involve your feelings demand exactly that. Go within. Reflect. You`ll soon know what the next step is.

In business and in your social world, first impressions count for a lot. Splash out on some new outfits that enhance your best features. When you look good, you feel good, too. Your friendly nature is a valuable asset in making new friends. It`s a great week to put those loving feelings you have been bottling up inside into words. Hugs always cheer you up and they`ll have the same effect on others too.

Uranus stations in your sign on Monday. That`s followed two days later by the Sun and Venus aligning at the base of your solar chart. These facts, together with the Full Moon at the apex of your solar chart, indicates arrival at a professional turning point. Your entrepreneurial talents are sure to surface. Of course, it might also be that you determine to follow a new investment route. This could be quite out of your comfort zone and yes, require legal or least experienced assistance. It would be unsurprising if you were involved in the world of either further education, extended travel or even publishing. It might be as well however, to be aware of the potential to cross into a minefield. You will before the end of August no doubt require support from those who have an eye for detail whilst holding a long-term vision..

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Does it seem you`re revisiting both practical matters and personal issues you dealt with weeks if not months ago? You are. Your ruler Mercury has been retrograding twice this year, so returned to previous positions, triggering familiar question or issues. This time, however, you`re making informed decisions.. Pause, review past experiences, consider existing plans and your future goals. That clear, make those potentially life-changing decisions.

You`re ready now to discard old financial ties and contracts to replace them with more positive arrangements. Money and job themes are favourably accented. Take this chance to sign a contract and things will begin to change for the better. Questions are asked in e-mails and text messages and you seem to have all the answers. It might seem as if everyone is coming to you for advice and guidance. Later, a friend will be keen to introduce you to a new interest.

Jupiter stations in your opposite sign on Monday. That event is followed by Uranus arriving at its station, and an alignment of the Sun and Venus just ahead of Thursday`s Full Moon. In short, cosmically this is a busy week. Anticipate that others will be ready to take action for which they`ve been primed for some weeks. It`s probable though, that risk assessment is minimal. This is where it is likely important -especially if you`re involved in buying and selling, – that you have someone experienced to guide you. The due diligence required to get a decision over the line will require commitment. Yes, you`re probably right that whatever happens will alter your career path significantly. A strong possibility is that increase communications with those who live and work far away or who inhabit ivory towers, will be increased. It might also be that you determine that there are new areas that you need to study. This might even result in changing a planned course of action for September.

Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22

Your horoscope for this week:

The problem isn`t the pivotal decisions being triggered by Thursday`s powerful Full Moon. It`s that with so much in transition, you`re short of reliable information and so are others. Under ordinary circumstances, that would be reason for concern. However, what you`re facing relies more on intuition than hard facts anyway; and what if others insist on facts? Tell them you`ll discuss these later. Then follow your instincts.

Community activities will be lucky for you. Plan to circulate if you are hoping to meet new prospects. If you`re offered a job with a local charity, take it. Organising a fundraiser will bring out the best in you. There`s a surprise in store on the romantic front. Your partner is arranging something special for you both. If you`re single, prospects for passion look promising later in the week. Romantic developments will be exhilarating.

There is a Full Moon on Thursday. That`s not something to be afraid of but yes, you`re probably right to be on red alert. That feeling though, could also be attributed to Jupiter and Uranus arriving at their station plus the Sun and Venus alignment on Wednesday. These factors together with the occulting by the Moon of Saturn on Monday might result in the financial brakes coming off; and yes, this could feel scary. At the very least this will likely prove an expensive few days. On the upside, making an investment might seem wise. In fact, treasured memories could be created. Career wise, awareness that you`re giving the perfect support to someone who is now in the limelight, might also prompt you to rethink how you plan the remainder of the year. Indeed, it would likely be a good idea to set aside some time for blue skies thinking and for long-term planning. In this respect, interesting conversations should prove rewarding – if only because they offer other perspectives; but yes, you could easily be overwhelmed. It might be as well to make sure that you plan adequate relaxation and recovery time for next weekend.

Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22

Your horoscope for this week:

While you`ll take considerable time weighing up your options, once you commit to a plan, new idea or serious change, that`s that. However, recent twists and turns have meant rethinking even simple plans, probably more than once. True, this has caused delays and, often, been annoying. Despite that, each version has been better than the one before, which leaves you with little to complain about.

Plan to circulate if you are hoping to meet new prospects. You might stray a bit from your usual path and an impulsive move could be to your advantage. Reliable information received from someone in the know will help you make an important decision. Give yourself a chance to think before starting anything new. It`s not a good idea to plunge ahead with a risky project or relationship. Trust your intuition when it tells you this is not a risk you should take.

Midweek the Sun and Venus align in your sign. This isn`t an aspect that occurs every year; but yes, you`d be right to think that you`ll be in the spotlight. That this event comes just ahead of the Full Moon and after Uranus stations at the apex of your solar chart, suggests you could have a real bee in your bonnet – possibly property related. A shift in working career patterns has probably occurred. Now it`s time to plan the next stage. With significant cosmic activity ideas should abound. Where it`s likely essential that you take particular care, is that you don`t jump from the frying pan into the fire. In a few weeks` time the concentration of planets in neighbouring Virgo suggests that dealings will need to be meticulous. It might be wise – especially around Thursday`s Full Moon, to cultivate relations with those who you know have proven and successful experience in negotiations..

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22

Your horoscope for this week:

After confusion, around you and in your own life, you`re eager to tackle that chaos. First, focus on letting go of arrangements, alliances or even passions that were once worthwhile but are increasingly burdensome. While, often, this will be a relief, saying farewell to others will be challenging.. Ideally, you`ll want this done by the 18th, when a powerful new cycle of your life begins.

You will be especially productive behind the scenes as you are driven to achieve a special goal. Working alone helps you stay focused. You don`t want to be distracted by people who waste your time. A relative is interested in an event that is being set up in your area. You can understand why this appeals to them but you won`t be as keen to get involved. It`s just not your cup of tea.

Though it`s your neighbouring sign of Libra that gets the bad press for decision-making, Virgos have also been known to worry so much about doing the `right` thing that a conclusion is either never reached or an opportunity missed. This week you could really be in a flap. Fact is that Jupiter and Uranus both station on Monday, the Sun and Venus align on Wednesday and there is a Full Moon on Thursday. With others apparently arriving at conclusions that are hard for you to understand, and with your concern that due diligence has yet to be carried out, it would be understandable if nerves were frayed. It may be that there is simply too much going on. A valuation could have your attention too. At a slightly different level, you might have anxiety as to how property is being managed. All told it would be easy for you to fall into pressured mode. Of course, if you`re on holiday, concerns will be different; but even then, you might be aware that others are running too many risks. In short, it is perhaps imperative over these next seven days that you do what you can to support your nervous system.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Ordinarily, you think through your options, do whatever research is necessary, then carefully time discussions or requests for others` support. However, things are moving swiftly. This means you`ve little choice but to plunge in, discussing plans and exploring how others will be involved – and suddenly. Actually, that`s best, mostly because it means that, together, you`ll leap from talking things over to taking immediate action.

You work hard for your money and you want to have something to show for it. To shop or not to shop is now the question. You want to splash out on some new clothes that will make you feel fabulous but you also want to stash some cash away for a rainy day. You may have to strike a sensible balance between the two. An unexpected offer is worth considering. Analyse your options by working out where you stand the best chance of succeeding.

First off, Thursday`s Full Moon accents the pleasure zone of your solar chart. This same area is connected to research and development and yes, amazing ideas should surface. Indeed, what happens post Jupiter`s station on Monday is promising. It might be as well thought to be prepared for the fact that a Leo (or someone focused on presentation and drama) could yet take the wind from your sails. Each sign has something different to offer. The fact that you`re moving in one direction and someone else has a different approach doesn`t negate or diminish either. It`s simply that you might need a few extra days early next week, to consider the implications of their proposal. The fusion of the Sun with your ruling planet, Venus, on Wednesday suggests you will have reached a working partnerships turning point. Whether or not you want to invest in a new project or determine it`s too hot to handle, this could prove one amazing time for opportunity and decision making.

Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21

Your horoscope for this week:

A determined Scorpio is unstoppable; but now, as you`re increasingly aware, you must review and, in many cases, say farewell to certain goals, aims or objectives. Listen to the voice within that describes this as a defeat, and you`ll struggle. Or, instead, view what`s going as a valuable foundation for what`s next, and you`ll benefit from the experience but be free to move on.

A job involving lots of travel would suit you down to the ground. Your feet are itching to get going. An adventure is being planned and this will take place very soon. You won`t think twice about taking advantage of opportunities to broaden your horizons. You could learn a lot by watching a rival whose work you admire. They may not have your experience but they are more up to date in knowledge or expertise.

The Sun and Venus appear fused at the very apex of your solar chart on Wednesday. That`s followed just a day later by a Full Moon that draws attention to the opposite point; and yes, at some level you could feel stretched. The backbone of the solar chart is a sensitive area; and yes, at a physical level it perhaps would be wise for you to be careful about how much you are actually carrying. It might also be that you really need a different perspective. The higher up you are, the better.. Scorpio has a reputation for looking at the dark side, and depth. Sometimes though, this is an advantage to being up high and looking down into the depths. It`s possible too, especially since Uranus will have stationed in your opposite sign on Monday, that you could be nearly blown away by the eccentricity or difference between you and someone whose creative ideas are so very different to your own. Whether or not this becomes a permanent working relationship will depend on your personal chart. It`s probable though, that before the weekend you will be giving this deep thought, and undertaking essential risk assessment.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21

Your horoscope for this week:

It`s an exciting time. Existing plans are working well and, even more, you`re encountering appealing new options. However, you`re overwhelmed and concerned that you couldn`t possibly include all of these in your life. For now, explore them all. You`ll learn from some, improve existing ideas because of others and a few will become part of your life; but you needn`t decide which is which this week.

Putting a regular amount aside into savings each month will give you a greater measure of confidence. You will feel more control when you have some cash put away for a rainy day. Look for ways to recycle materials. Putting old things to good use could become a favourite pastime and this will allow you to express your creativity through handiwork. You might enjoy restoring shabby furniture to its original beauty and this will be a labour of love.

Your ruling planet, Jupiter, stations on Monday and until the end of the year appears to be in forward motion. You too could feel propelled in fresh direction. If there is a difficulty it`s that that same day, Uranus starts its retrograde phase. It may be that physically you`re not quite able to manage all that you would like to do or that your working pattern and routine requires adjustment because of new technical challenges. Just to add to all of this, there is both a Full Moon (Thursday)and the Sun`s fusion with Venus in another of the Fire signs (Wednesday). Excited and exhilarated as you may be by opportunities presented, you might also be aware that your language or technical skills are not as good as you would like them to be. This though, could prompt action. Indeed, you could astound others with your determination to master new technologies before the end of August.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19

Your horoscope for this week:

You rarely think about this but, for you as a Capricorn, the line between being determined to achieve your goals and sheer stubbornness isn`t always clear. Yet, recently, you`re increasingly less enthusiastic about certain once-promising plans or passions. Difficult as it is to admit, that`s because they`re unlikely to live up to your expectations. Meanwhile, new and tempting options are on the horizon. At least explore them.

An old friend will be in touch with an exciting proposition. This will come as a big surprise as you haven`t seen each other in a long while. Don`t let the fact that this offer has come from out of the blue stop you from giving it some thought. This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Your social life is about to take a turn for the better and at the same time, your love life will go into orbit.

This could prove one amazing week. Not only do Jupiter and Uranus reach stations on Monday, but those events are followed by the Sun`s apparent fusion with Venus on Wednesday and a Full Moon on Thursday. That there is also considerable attention in one of the Fire signs, Leo, suggests drama – not your natural style unless, of course, it`s on the professional stage. You could though be astounded by the behaviour of others who move naturally to be the centre of attention and cope remarkably well with it. Even so, you may find that there are decisions you need to make on their behalf. Indeed, in some ways it`s as though you`ve been promoted to tour manager. Costs – at every level – may be high (especially around the Full Moon). These though you might consider to be worthwhile investments. You might also feel indebted to someone whose language or technical skills enable you to cope with a challenging emergency situation.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18

Your horoscope for this week:

Usually, the powerful Aquarius Full Moon on Thursday would be a turning point, in terms of events and, as much, your perspective on the future; but with so many ideas already swirling around you, there`s been lots of discussion about what should change, go and just as much, what`s next. Urgent and, often, final as decisions seem, you needn`t worry. They`re the first of many.

Although you may not get to ride through Paris in an open sports car, there will be something special and romantic about plans being made now. Your charisma is at an all-time high. If you are single, don`t be surprised when you become a hot commodity on the romance market. A travel opportunity will be too good to ignore. Think about how you would feel in the future if you let if you let this chance slip through your fingers.

Thursday`s Full Moon is in your sign. Though there is a lunation like this every year, rarely does this come immediately after the Sun`s fusion with Venus in your opposite sign; and yes, you`d be right to think that this could draw you into a relationship crisis. The fact that all this is preceded by both Jupiter and Uranus arriving at stations on Monday, suggests you could be taken aback by a decision. It may be that this has been incubating for some time. This might require that you move into `all systems go` position before the weekend. Travel arrangements might need to be made. Property matters too could have your attention. It may be necessary – even temporarily, – to move somewhere different. It would be completely understandable – especially around the Full Moon, – if you felt that others were pushing you into actions for which you don`t yet feel prepared. This though, is arguably not the time to show your stubborn side. There is every likelihood that events have gathered momentum and that you will need to move forward with our others, if a team is still to be in place at the end of the month.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20

Your horoscope for this week:

You`re well aware you`re sometimes distracted by dramas in the lives of others, from family and friends to, on occasion, those you don`t even know. Now, however, your primary focus must be you, and especially tidying up elements of your life, obligation and, equally, goals that are distracting you from new, and worthwhile, pursuits. In brief, it`s about putting yourself first. While challenging, it`s vital.

Charm can work wonders. You have something important to ask someone. Make eye contact as your eyes have a wonderful way of expressing your feelings. Everyone will melt at this. Be warm and gracious. A journey is on the cards. Take the chance to look at your life from a distant perspective while you`re away on holiday or travelling. A new slant on the future will bring substantial rewards. Planning a reunion could be on the cards.

By the time that the Moon reaches your sign on Friday, anticipate that many people will be seeking you out – both for your wisdom and compassion! Fact is that at the cosmic level, this promises to be an exceptionally busy week. It all begins on Monday when both Jupiter and Uranus arrive at their stations. That`s followed on Wednesday by the Sun`s conjunction with Venus and then a Full Moon on Thursday. Many people will be affected and feel the need (or be provoked!) into action. By Friday they might wonder what on earth they`ve done and need your reassurance that the steps they`ve taken have indeed be wise. You too could get caught up in a near theatrical production. Whether or not you`re trying to assist somebody with a holiday romance, with the creation of a brochure or flyer for an event, the emphasis is very much on presentation; and yes, your particular way of looking at things could be just what`s needed. All this said, there may be moments when it would be wise for you to place clear boundaries to ensure that you are not left exhausted.
