Light A Candle Today!
In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

The Wibby-Wobbly Timey-Wimey Spell
Spell Date: Sunday, March 10, 2019
Have you ever wanted to travel through time? Aside from going back and witnessing the building of the pyramids or killing Hitler, what if we could get back a bit of the time we have spent, so we can spend it again?
For this spell you will need a non-digital clock (one with hands).
Set the clock so that it reads one hour ahead of the current time. So if it is 4:00 p.m., set it for 5:00 p.m.
Ground and center. Focus on the clock the same way you might a crystal ball or scrying mirror. Enter into a trance. Say:
‘It is [time on clock]. (x 3)
Tick, tock, tick, tock,
So go the workings of my magic clock.
Tock, tack, tock, tack,
Slow do we turn now the
hands of time back.”
Forcibly turn the clock hands back an hour so that it now reads correctly, “giving” you that hour. Spend it wisely.

Saturnal Protection Bag
Spell Date: Saturday, March 9, 2019
Saturday’s energies are aligned with Saturn, which makes it a great day for some protection magick. Gather the following items, all of which align with the planet Saturn and have protective energies:
* A small square of black cloth or felt about four inches square
* 1 tablespoon dried thyme
* A small piece of jet stone
* A piece of twine or ribbon
Lay the cloth flat on your workspace, and place the thyme in a pile on the cloth. Add the jet stone on top of the pile, and place your hands over the arrangement, palms downward. Envision your hands charging the items, and visualize them beginning to glow, emanating protective energies. Draw up the corners of the cloth and tie with the twine, holding protective intentions. Then blow three times onto the bag. Carry the bag when you feel you need an extra protective boost from unfriendly energies.

Candle Spell for Women
Spell Date: Friday, March 8, 2019
Today is International Women’s Day. To strengthen your relationships with the women in your life and to focus on awareness of women’s issues, begin by carving the symbol for “woman” into a purple or white votive candle. Place appropriate symbols on your altar, such as goddess statues, pictures of women you wish to honor, etc.
As the candle burns, consider all the ways you can acknowledge the women in your life. Research issues of concern today, and take some action or make a donation. You can also show appreciation for the women in your life with a kind gesture or gift.
In addition, if you’re a woman, do something special for yourself today. As you light the candle, chant:
“To those who suffer, bring relief,
alleviate their pain and grief.
Satisfy all those in need,
honor them by word and deed.”
Allow the candle to burn out safely.

Spell Date: Thursday, March 7, 2019
Thursday is ruled by Jupiter, known astrologically as the Greater Benefic. Jupiter is expansive, bringing opportunities, increase, generosity, good fortune, and luck. Since today is a day for abundance, protection, prosperity, strength, wealth, and healing, let’s use this “great benefic” energy for a self-sufficiency spell. If we are self-sufficient (financially, emotionally, socially, and even sexually), it frees us to make very different choices, ones not based on need.
You’ll need a photo of yourself, some money, a wrapped candy or chocolate bar, and a blue cloth or ribbon. Place the photo on your altar, standing up, looking out. Say:
“Jupiter, expand my horizons,
help me govern my life.”
Place the money in front of the photo. Say:
“I have wealth and resources.”
Place the candy. Say:
“I have sweet sustainability”
Surround these with the blue cloth or ribbon. Say:
“Jupiter’s energy encircles me,
The Greater Benefic blesses me.
So mote it be.”
Repeat as needed.

Forgive Yourself Spell
Spell Date: Wednesday, March 6, 2019
Today we have a new moon occurring while the sun is in emotional Pisces. This is a perfect day to unburden yourself of any feelings of guilt. Use this new moon to forgive yourself for any mistakes you’ve made and start fresh.
For this ritual you’ll need a sheet of plain white paper, a blue ink pen, a few twigs, some dried sage, and a feather. You’ll also need a cauldron or a heatproof dish. On the paper write any mistakes you’ve made and feel sorry for. Break the twigs into the cauldron and ignite them. Crumple the paper and place it on the flames. Now sprinkle the sage over the flames. Fan the smoke over you using the feather. Let the smoke carry away any feelings of guilt. When the ashes are cold, sprinkle them in a garden or compost pile. Forgive yourself and move forward.

Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday)
Spell Date: Tuesday, March 5, 2019
The end of Mardi Gras is upon us, today being Fat Tuesday. Adorn yourself with the colors of the season: emerald green, golden yellow, and royal purple. Partake in pancakes, fried breads, or pastries. All of these foods stem from the tradition of using up all the lard and grains stored for the winter in preparation for the fasting of Lent. Pre-Christian, this fasting coincided with the winter food stores being almost depleted. These modern times allow us to pick and choose the extent of our hunger level. However, to be true to the sentiment, as you prepare for indulgence, take some time today to rid your pantry of some over-comforting foods. Replace with fresh vegetables and fruits particular to your part of the world. Plan some light meals for Ash Wednesday.
After that, raise your glass and start celebrating!
“Look at this abundance of riches,
prepared for celebration.
Tomorrow begins the fasting,
tonight is for the feasting.
Join in, join hands, strike up the
flames, strike up the music.
Fall into the revelry, huzzah!”

Appreciation at Work Spell
Spell Date: Monday, March 4, 2019
Pisces rules over us now and is reminding us that it is important to feel appreciated and respected, especially where we spend most of our time. Cast this spell to bring about a subtle awareness to your employer and coworkers about how valuable you are to the team. Grab the business card of your superior and write your name over their contact information three times, then anoint it lightly with lavender oil. Hold the business card with both hands and enchant it by saying:
“See me for what I am,
someone deserving more.
See me for what I am,
an eagle who can soar.
Appreciate me for what I do,
I need to know you care.
Appreciate me for what I do,
open your heart and share.”
Put the card in your shoe and leave it there until you feel appreciated.

Say Good Luck in Irish Gaelic
By Laura Jean Karr
Irish Gaelic in the Celtic Language Family
There are two branches to the Celtic languages group. The first group being the Brythonic Branch includes the British Ancestral, Cumbric, Welsh, Cornish and Breton. The second group is called the Goidelic Branch that includes Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic and Manx. Although each language is rich in history and full of wonderful expressions, here we are going to narrow it down to expressions in Irish Gaelic.
One well-used group of expressions is that of wishing someone well or bestowing the Gaelic version of “good luck” upon them. In the Irish Gaelic cultures, these expressions are akin to giving someone a good blessing and occur as often as the curses in conversational dialects around the island and beyond. Each phrase will be accompanied with a pronunciation example. All examples of pronunciation will be shown after the original phrases in parenthesis.
Irish Gaelic Expressions
Irish blessings are a large part of the warmth of the Irish conversational culture. There are literally thousands of ways to bestow “good luck” upon someone whether they be a family member or a stranger off of the street. Irish Gaelic itself is full of humorous sayings that show both the simple and interesting aspects of the culture in small snippets.
The following phrases of good luck range from the easy to say in everyday conversation to the more intimate knowledge of the person for whom the blessing is being said. The following phrases are spoken quickly with very little or no pause in between words.
Adh mor ort (awn-more-oert): “Good luck to you!” and “Luck to you!”
Go n-éirí an t-ádh leat (Guh n’ayr’ee an tah leath): “May luck rise to you!”
Go gcuire Dia an t-ádh ort (Guh gir’uh d’eeuh uhn tah ort): This phrase is used to mean “Best of luck to you!” but translates to “May God put luck on you!”
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat (guh n’ayr’ee uhn boehuhr l’aet): “May the road succeed with you!”
Out of these four phrases, the first one is the most common one for bestowing a simple feeling of good luck upon someone. There are more colorful phrases in Irish Gaelic that are close but not necessarily statements of good luck. The following are examples of common expressions that convey blessings to others in a conversation.
Sláinte (slawn-Cha): “Good health to you!”
Slán agus beannacht leat (slawn ogg-us ban-ocked lyat): “Goodbye and blessings with you!”
Heartwings Love Notes 870: Are you saving daylight or spending it?
Heartwings says, “For saving or spending, daylight is useful and important.”
Did you miss the hour the daylight saving system just stole or not? You’ll get it back of course in the fall, but by then it will be long forgotten. Time is such an odd thing. Totally artificial and man-made, even our calendar has gone through several changes over the centuries. Daylight saving was actually suggested by Ben Franklin, though not put into use for a long time later. It has always seemed to me to be something o a nuisance, however opinion is divided as to its usefulness. About forty countries have some form or “Summer Time,” as it is usually called.
Daylight saving, does make for a disruption and an inconvenience. Unless you live in Hawaii or Arizona, the extra hour subtracted from the beginning and tacked back on more than seven months from now is something most of us have to put up with one way or another. Some of us do welcome the longer evening hours. Others bemoan the resetting of our clocks and our bodily systems. Babies, as I remember from my days as a young mother don’t reset easily, nor do pets. At one level it’s a little like jet lag that lasts one day instead of several.
When I need more time to get something done I wish there were some way to have a stash put away in a cupboard where I could take some out to use, like that extra hour we just lost. I remember several different stories I read with such a theme. Each of the protagonists had a way of hoarding up time. I found myself envious of people who could make use of their ability to add more time or else manipulate it so that they could put it to use for themselves for whatever the plot required of them.
How to use time efficiently continues to be the subject of a good many studies. For myself I have to admit that my effective use of it owes more to being strict with myself about avoiding distractions than anything else. Like many I have a way of letting one thing lead to another-oh, I’ll just look at that email, and then I catch a glimpse of another, and then the phone rings, or Stephen needs something, then where was I…and the day slips away until it’s over and I ask myself, “what did I accomplish anyway?” It helps to make a list, and cross off what I manage to get done, and rewrite the list when it gets used up. That and the discipline of “Not now, please” are about all I have to help me.
May you find good ways to use your time wisely.
Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert

The Luck of the Irish!
An Irish Charm For Always Having Money
Take the feather of a black rooster, go to the crossing points of three fairy-paths, and while holding the feather and a gold colored coin, call the name of the Goddess Áine three times, to bring you everlasting prosperity.
Irish Elixir Of Potency
Two ounces of cochineal, one ounce of gentian root, eight grams of saffron, four grams of snakeroot, four grams of salt of wormwood, and the rind of ten oranges. All of this should be steeped in a quart of brandy and kept for when it is needed.
Irish Charm Against Depression
When a person becomes low, depressed and careless about everything, as if all vital strength and energy has gone, he is said to have got a ‘fairy blast,’ and blast-water must be poured over him by the hands of a fairy doctor while saying, “In the name of Lugh with his shining sword, who has strength before the gods and stands among them.”
Be careful to ensure that no portion of the water is sullied. Whatever is left over after the procedure must be poured onto the fire.
Detecting All Types of Negative Energies
Article by Ananya Sen
Greetings everyone! The universe has been giving me nudges for sometime to write this article and I have been ignoring these nudges, cause I do not like writing about this topic, if I can help. So here goes, what kind of negative energies can get stuck to your aura or body? How to detect these different types of negative energies?
To define, negative energy is a thought or a cord or a feeling that makes you feel stuck or unable to break free. Its source is mainly fear, sometimes conscious and often unconscious fear. Negative energy in your aura can also belong to you or other people!
What are the different types of negative energies that can affect you?
1. Negative Thought Patterns or Behaviour – these are often childhood related and can sometimes be past life related. Childhood trauma can block your natural thought process greatly. Childhood wounds do not go away with time, they remain in your psyche for years. They have to be brought out and healed.
2. Past Life Blocks – these are usually deeply hidden in the subconscious mind. You will usually not be aware of these blocks. Also, past life blocks usually affect you temporarily as there are lessons attached to these. Once the lesson is learnt in this life time, the block gets removed.
3. Spells or Curses – Again these blocks may remain hidden for a long time. You don’t get to know you have been cursed or there are spells put on you, till your luck completely runs out. With all curses and spells, the intention of the spell or curse bearer is important. These are easier to remove than others.
4. Entities or Spirits – These are very easily detected. If you feel you are not yourself, unable to concentrate, feel emotions that do not belong to you or your eating and sleeping patterns are disturbed, you probably have an attachment in your aura. Simple prayers and rituals can remove these.
5. Psychic Attack – These are other people’s thoughts and intentions which affect you. Often these are people you regularly hang out with and come back feeling drained. Psychic attacks usually affect the back chakras of a person, blocking out your receiving side. In common terms this is known as ‘Evil Eye.’
6. Cords – these I have already discussed in my “Cord Cutting” article. But these are projections from the aura that connect you to objects, people and situations. They create tension in your being.
7. Negative Space in Office or Home – This is also easy to understand because, it is only when you enter this space you feel drained or irritated. Other times you are alright.
How to Detect these Energies?
I am giving a very simple and yet effective procedure. If you follow this word by word you should be able to detect. Take a few deep breaths and calm yourself. Close your eyes and whisper softly or in your mind “I want to connect with my soul”. Say this 2-3 times. Pause for a few seconds. Then ask “Are we connected?” You should ideally hear a yes.
Now this is the main part. Ask “Am I completely clear?” you may get a yes or no answer. You need to ask the same question 2 more times. The majority yes’ or no’s will give you the actual answer. Which means, if you hear 2 yes’ and 1 no that means you are clear.
Suppose you hear a no. Then individually, pick the types of the above mentioned negative energies and ask about each one 3 times.
For instance, “Am I under psychic attack?” ask 3 times.
“Do I have cords attached to my aura?” ask 3 times.
“Are there any curses or spells on me?” ask 3 times.
“Are there any entities or spirits attached in my aura?” ask 3 times.
“Are there any past life blockages?” ask 3 times.
“Are any childhood memories plaguing me?” ask 3 times.
“Is my office or home space clear?” ask 3 times.
Remember to record the responses in your mind or on paper. This method is good enough for everyone, including Reiki people. However, Reiki people can invoke Reiki before starting the meditative process. You can also invoke the distance healing symbol, as it directly connects you to the type of negativity that is there.
Try this method and share your feedback, no matter whether you are a Reiki practitioner or not. Your channel i.e. your body has to be clear at all times.
Saying Goodbye To A Home
By Madisyn Taylor
When leaving a home, it’s important to honor the time you have spent within its walls and the life you lived there.
When we move from one residence to another, we often get so caught up in the forward thrust of where we are going that we forget to properly say goodbye to the home we are leaving behind. Yet saying goodbye is an important part of moving forward. It gives us a sense of completion so that we are able to fully inhabit our new space, having left nothing of ourselves in the old one. In this way, we honor the space that has held and nurtured us. At the same time, we cleanse it and empty it of our energy so that the new residents can make the space theirs.
Plan a walk through your home that begins and ends at the front door. Ideally, you will be alone or accompanied only by a person who shared the space with you. Prepare yourself mentally to be as present as you can during this process. As you enter the house, you might say, “I have come to thank you for being my home and to say goodbye.” You might touch the walls with your hands as you move through the house, or you might burn sage as an offering, as well as an energy cleanser. Spend some time in each room expressing your gratitude and gathering or releasing any lingering energy from the room. As you do this, you are freeing your home to embrace its new occupants. Remember to visit your outside spaces as well. Plants are especially sensitive to the energy around them and will appreciate your consideration.
As you make your way back to the front door, know that you have completed your final journey through your home and that you have honored and blessed it with this ritual of farewell. As you close and lock the door behind you, say one last goodbye. Now you can walk freely into your future and fully inhabit the new spaces that will keep you safe and warm.
GrannyMoon’s Witches Kitchen
DIY Herbal Mint Melt and Pour Soap
½ cup dried peppermint leaf
4 ounces melt and pour soap (find it at craft supply stores or online)
15 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops spearmint essential oil
glass Pyrex measuring cup
silicone tree molds (I used 2-ounce molds)
Add soap to a glass Pyrex measuring cup, and place in a small saucepan of water on low heat.
Allow soap to melt gently, stirring only as needed. Try to avoid stirring too much as it can cause bubbles.
Once the soap is melted, remove from heat and allow to cool for a minute or two.
Crush dried mint and add to soap, stirring gently.
Add in essential oils and stir to combine.
Pour into molds. I used 2-ounce silicone tree molds.
Cool fully and store in a cool, dry place for 12-24 hours.
Un-mold and allow to dry an additional 24 hours.
Use or store in a cool, dry place.
Once these soaps are fully dry, they can be packaged in tissue paper, tins, or glass jars for storage.

Copycat McDonald’s Shamrock Shake
What does it taste like?
Minty and very creamy. These are the ingredients McDonald’s shares on its website: reduced-fat vanilla ice cream, whipped light cream, and “Shamrock Shake Syrup.” ?? Instead of the syrup, we use peppermint extract and green food color. Warning: A little bit of the extract goes a lonnngggg way.
Can you add alcohol?
Is that even a real question? YES! McDonald’s doesn’t offer a boozy version, for obvious reasons. But when you make this at home, you can add as much as you want. You could use plain or flavored vodka. Marshmallow vodka could be kinda genius…
Do I need ice cream?
As with all good milkshakes, yes, ice cream is key. You could go the way of the fast food chain and opt for a reduced-fat pint. But we went all out with regular vanilla ice cream PLUS a little bit of cream. It makes the milkshake extra-decadent and special. Milk can be substituted in a pinch.
Yields: 1 serving
Prep Time: 0 hours 5 mins
3 large scoops vanilla ice cream (about 1/4 c. each)
1/4 c. heavy cream
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
6 drops green food coloring
Whipped cream, for topping
Maraschino cherry, for topping
1. In a blender, mix vanilla ice cream, heavy cream, peppermint extract, and food coloring until completely smooth, then pour into a glass.
2. Top with whipped cream and a cherry before serving.

This flu fighting tea recipe is an effective way to say “goodbye” the cold and flu. It boosts the immune system and is yummy, too.
Author: Erica Hale
Serves: 1 cup of tea
” 1 bag good quality organic echinacea tea (optional)
” 3 or 4 thin slices of fresh organic ginger root
” 3 tablespoons organic lemon juice, fresh squeezed
” 2 tablespoons raw organic honey
” ½ teaspoon organic ground cinnamon
” ¼ teaspoon organic ground clove
” Cayenne pepper to taste
1. In a large cup of hot filtered water, steep the tea bag and the sliced ginger (you may omit the tea bag if you’d like).
2. Add the lemon juice, honey and spices and stir well. The tea will be cloudy.
3. If you’d like, you may strain the tea through cheesecloth to remove the ground spices and ginger. At our house, we just drink it as is.
This recipe can be found in Dr. Weil’s cookbook, True Food: Seasonal, Sustainable, Simple, Pure.
This recipe is great for a cold weather meal for those of us that might need a little immune system boost.
The sliced, dried astragalus root in this soup is available online and in herb stores; it is nontoxic and adds a pleasant, sweet taste when simmered in soups. Shiitake mushrooms also boost immunity and have an antiviral effect. Garlic is an antibiotic and ginger a natural anti-inflammatory agent.
Food as Medicine
Modern research shows that astragalus root, a Chinese herb long used to ward off colds and flu, has powerful immune-enhancing properties.
1 1/2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
2 large onions, thinly sliced
3 garlic cloves, mashed
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
4 ounces shiitake mushrooms, stemmed and thinly sliced
2 large carrots, thinly sliced on the bias
2 1/2 pieces astragalus root (about 15 inches total)
10 cups Mushroom Stock
2 tablespoons tamari or low sodium soy sauce
2 cups broccoli florets
1/2 cup chopped scallions
1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
2. Add the onions, garlic, and ginger and sauté until soft and translucent. Add the shiitakes, carrots, astragalus root and mushroom stock.
3. Bring to a low boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
4. Add the tamari and adjust the seasoning with salt if needed.
5. Add the broccoli florets and cook until tender, about 2 minutes.
6. Remove the astragalus root pieces.
7. Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with scallions before serving.

Magee at the Reunion 10
It’s me, Magee more specifically Detective Magee. I’m back in the Big Apple. Last time I was here was when I starred on Dig Dog Dig for the Canine Channel and helped Marjorie solve a murder. This time I’m trying to help solve another grisly murder case.
Maybe because I’m a cop and I’m just naturally suspicious but there was something about the cab driver I didn’t like. Maybe it was the way his eyes squinted, or how he sniffed and kept wiggling his nose like a mouse.
I was so excited. As I stood up on the back seat beside Sippi, I looked out the rear window. My tail wouldn’t stop wagging.
I could tell Sippi was excited too. She clutched her device texting madly. Personally I think she spends much too much time on her device instead of giving me the necessary attention I need.
Raven sat up front also texting furiously. He stopped, turned, and looked back at Sippi. I looked over at him. I could tell he was still upset with her for saying no to his recent proposal of marriage. This time he’d even flashed a ring. We dogs can feel these things. Nothing I could do, though.
He gave her a big smile. “I just got the good news. At the reunion we’ll be sitting at the All Stars table with Michael Jordan and Larry Bird.”
She looked up annoyed. “So? Am I supposed to be impressed? Didn’t I say I’d go with you?”
His face fell and he took a breath. “Of course you did. That’s why I went ahead with tickets and hotel reservations. “But you just don’t seem to be looking forward to it.” His face got all scrunched up and sad looking. .
Sippi frowned. “I’m supposed to pretend to be glad to be doing something I don’t particularly want to do but will do just to make you happy.”
Raven sighed. “That would be nice. I’d feel better.”
Sippi shrugged. “Yes, and it’s always all you.”
His face scrunched up again. “Sippi, can’t you even pretend to be friendly?”
“I am friendly Raven. I’m probably your best friend. Can’t you let it go at that?”
“It makes me feel good when I know you’re enjoying…”
All this people talk was boring. I looked back out the window. That’s when I saw the same white motor scooter that had gotten into line behind us when we left the airport. Now it was still behind us as we drove up Fifth Avenue toward our hotel. Something told me I should warn Sippi.
That wouldn’t be easy. She was all taken up with texting again. I made my usual cries and whimpers. Nothing worked. I started barking.
Raven caught on. “What’s up Magee?
Sippi finally closed her device. What’s on your mind Magee? Need a pit stop?”
Once I had her attention I whimpered and pushed my paw against the back window.
She looked out and gasped. “Raven, that’s the same white motor scooter that followed us out of the airport!”
“Many drive scooters these days.” He sounded grumpy.
“But not with fancy British green racing stripes. They’re hard to come by. Magee saw it too. Has to be one and the same.”
Raven frowned, “Already? We just got here. Haven’t even checked in yet. If that’s a reception committee, they didn’t take long.” He turned to the driver. “How about instead of taking us straight to the hotel you show us the Empire State Building, then drive through Central Park.”
The driver squinted and seemed confused. He said in broken English. “You no want to go to hotel?”
“Not right away.” Raven smiled. “Nice big tip for showing us around.”
That made him seem even more confused. “You want tour guide?”
Raven smiled. “Just take us for a look at the Empire State Building, then a drive through Central Park.”
“What’s the plan?” Sippi said
He said nothing but put his finger to his lips.
“Here, Sweetheart,” Sippi fed me a spicy shrimp ball. “Eat it slowly Magee. You only get one treat at a time. You heard what the vet said about us watching your weight.”
Ha! Not me. I gulped it down.
Our driver made a U turn, swerved around and picked up speed. The scooter stayed right behind us.
Sippi took a quick look. “Maybe he knows we’re onto him. Could be there’s a second or even a third tail.”
Traffic was heavy. We crept past the Empire State Building and moved more slowly toward Central Park. As we drove past the Plaza and through the gates I let Sippi know I had to relieve myself.
“Magee needs us to stop.”
“Cool,” Raven said. “Now’s as good a time as any.” He told the driver to pull over into a half empty parking lot. Sippi leashed me and we got out. She walked me over to the edge of some greenery. “OK, Magee let’s get it done.”
I wished there was more time. I wanted to sniff and find the perfect scent, the perfect spot, but no such luck. Sippi was very impatient. Moments later the fancy white motor scooter pulled up near the cab. The cab driver climbed out and moved toward the scooter.
Raven had already jumped out. He was crouching behind his open door.
Sippi dragged me behind a tree. “Hurry up Magee. Do your business.”
Then everything happened at once.
The rider jumped off his scooter. He looked at the cab driver. I saw the cabbie pull a handgun from inside his jacket. He waved it first at the rider and then at Raven. He didn’t seem to know what to do with it.
I wanted to run and help Raven but Sippi held my leash. I tugged at it so hard it almost caught her off balance.
“Ok Magee,” reluctantly she bent down and unleashed me.
I barked and raced toward Raven. On the way I plowed between the legs of the cab driver. He fell on his back and struggled to get up. I stopped and grabbed hold of both of his thick knotted shoelaces at once.
He wasn’t expecting me to do that. He yelled and tried to grab me. I clenched my jaws and continued to bite at his laces. That made it even harder for him to get up.
Crouching low Raven watched. The cab driver stopped trying to get up and took aim at the man on the scooter.
“No,” Raven shouted. He leaped at the cabbie, flying through the air as though he were going for a loose ball before it rolled off the court.
He crash landed onto the cabbie’s chest. The cabbie let out a guttural sound. I growled and hung onto his shoelaces enjoying the delectable taste of cordovan shoe polish.
Sippi ran over to us. “OK Magee,” she said. “You can let go now. I didn’t want to but I did.
Sippi disarmed the cab driver, who lay flat on his back almost breathless. “You OK Raven?”
“Fine, fine,” he said. He pulled the cabbie up and wrenched his arm up behind his back.
The scooter rider stood up, walked over, and bowed slightly. “Perhaps I could be of some assistance,” the he said, and then he smiled. “Although I don’t think you require my services after all.”
He nodded to Raven and Sippi. “Quite extraordinary Agent Jones, Detective Bopp. Your reputation for superb athleticism is surpassed even by your professional skills.”
He cuffed the cab driver, opened his device and spoke quickly in a language I couldn’t understand.
“That’s Russian,” Raven said. “Who are you?”
He was tall, well built and seemed to be in good shape. He nodded politely.
“I am Fyodor Ouspenski. KGB.” He nodded politely at Raven, smiled and looked deeply into Sippi’s eyes.
