Light A Candle Today!
In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It expresses more than words can express. It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit candles in sacred places. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this gratefulness. Or you may want to light a birthday candle for a friend. One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full attention.

Stesubun-Sai Bean Throwing Ceremony
Spell Date: Sunday, February 3, 2019
According to Shinto belief, today is when the spirit world is closest to ours. In Japan, bean throwing is a popular way to mark the end of winter and the eve of the first day of spring. The idea is to employ the mystical powers of beans to scare away evil and usher in goodness. Involve everyone in your home in this ceremony.
First, you need one person to be an ogre, to symbolize evil. An ogre toy or mask or a face painted like that of an ogre will work.
Next, select roasted soybeans with a flavor profile you prefer. Dry-roasted nuts are very healthy. They can be salty or spicy in flavor.
Toss seven soybeans at the ogre.
The ogre runs away.
Then each participant eats the number of beans that represents their age.

For this spell you will need a white candle and a yellow rose.
It is traditional on this day to perform divination focused on the end of winter and the emergence of spring. On Imbolc morning, about one to two hours before midday, go outside and recite the following cantrip:
“If Imbolc day is bright and clear,
Then winter lingers cold and near.
If Imbolc day is overcast,
Then early spring shall come at last.”
Meditate on your environment. Pay attention to the temperature, the sounds, the light, etc. Tune in to the natural rhythms of the land around you. If it is sunny, then winter will linger. If it is cloudy, then spring will soon come. Return inside and light the white candle in front of a vase holding the yellow rose as a blessing of winter moving into spring.

Out with the Old Spell
Spell Date: Friday, February 1, 2019
According to tradition, this was the last day holiday greenery was allowed in the home or church. To leave it up after this date was believed to bring misfortune. Keeping this in mind, this is a good day to freshen up your home. Remove any clutter and discard items you no longer need. If you have any sickly houseplants, replace them. If your budget allows, buy some decorative items. Pillows for the sofa or a cozy throw are good ideas. In the evening, light an orange candle. Gaze at the flame and say:
“Divine Power, everything is
fresh, the old is gone.
Bless my home and prepare me
For spring and the shining sun.”
Watch the candle flame and visualize the strengthening sun blessing you with good fortune. Let the candle burn out in a safe place.

Healing Light Candle Spell
Spell Date: Thursday, January 31, 2019
Carve an image of the sun into a yellow (or white) votive candle. Anoint the candle with eucalyptus or rosemary oil, if you have it. As you light the candle, visualize healing light, like beams of sunshine, streaming and flowing into you (or into someone who needs healing energy). See the light touching every part of the body, dissolving any trace of illness and restoring wellness.
Chant the following spell. If necessary, replace “me” with the name of the person who needs to receive the energy.
“Healing light, light of love,
Fill me with your rays.
Renew, restore, and burn away
All illness with your blaze.
Healing fire, fire of love,
Let your flames devour
Every trace of malady-
Send me strength and power.”
Allow the candle to burn out safely.
Repeat as desired.

Keep the Wheels Turning
Spell Date: Wednesday, January 30, 2019
Most of modern society relies on technology, yet it gets little mention in magic. Our ancestors worshiped aspects of what was modern technology to them, such as smithcraft. Here, then, is a spell to beseech the spirit of technology for smooth functioning.
To cast this spell, you’ll need a representation of a wheel. It can be as simple as a picture or as fancy as fidget jewelry with wheels that actually turn. Visualize your wheel as a personification of technology. Touch the wheel to three working machines of importance to you, perhaps your car, refrigerator, and computer. Give thanks to the spirit of technology for what you have. Ask it to keep everything in your life running as it should.
Afterward, keep the wheel in a safe place. If it’s a picture, you can keep it on your altar. Jewelry may be worn or stored in a jewelry box.

Spell Date: Tuesday, January 29, 2019
For this spell you will need the
* 1 spool of white thread
* 1 needle
* 1 white emergency/blackout candle
* 1 sharp yellow stone or rugged glass bead
* 1 lock of your own hair
Sitting in a sunny location, begin the spell in the early afternoon. Take your measure by cutting a piece of the thread and measuring from the center of your head to the bottom of your feet. Threading the needle puts the energy of your spirit into the thread.
Contemplate one single goal. Picture all of the stages of work ahead. Pass the needle through the middle of the candle so the ends of the thread dangle out of either side. Then thread the stone or bead onto the string on the right side of the candle. Tie your hair to the string on the left side, and bind the two ends together in a triple knot as you cast your intention. Burn the candle today as an offering to the sun and set your goals within sight of the new year ahead.

Cosmos Contemplation to Honor the Challenger
Spell Date: Monday, January 28, 2019
On this date in 1986, the US space shuttle Challenger exploded shortly after takeoff, claiming the lives of all onboard. These men and women lost their lives in pursuit of greater knowledge of the cosmos we exist in.
This evening, go outside, look up at the sky, and contemplate the vastness and mystery of the cosmos. Contemplate how we are only a small part in the vastness, how much we have learned and how much we have yet to learn. Pay attention to the stars. Are any particular constellations visible to you? What message might they be sending to you as they grace you with their presence?
Spend as much time in meditation as you desire. When you’re finished, leave a small earth-friendly offering outdoors. When returning indoors, light a candle and say a prayer of remembrance on your altar for the crew of the Challenger.

Heartwings Love Notes 865: Lessons from My Kitchen in Baking
Apples are versatile and make for good cold weather desserts. They are relatively inexpensive and always available, plus they are very good nutrition.
Needing inspiration for an apple dessert, I checked through my cookbook collection looking for a different way to make one. Because I try to avoid pie crust, I’m not a pie baker. Apple crisp, though very tasty, gets boring. I found that the recipes in my cookbooks for Apple Pan Dowdy and similar concoctions called for too much starch for a healthy diet.
After perusing many recipes, I decided to create one of my own. Toward that end I was careful to note down my ingredients and their measurements in case I wanted to repeat my effort. Sourcing many of recipes I had perused, I tried dried bread crumbs. This proved to be a mistake. They absorbed too much of the liquid and made for a rather stiff end result. Still, the pudding tasted good enough so that I wanted to make it again, but a little differently. Rather than using dried bread crumbs, I decided to try fresh ones. I pinched small pieces off the bread, including the crust.
The pudding tasted wonderful. Unfortunately, my original dish size was incorrect for the change in the recipe. The resultant mess on the oven floor was horrendous. Another lesson learned. The recipe was so good I made it again with different fruit. This one worked well however it stuck to the baking dish. More lessons. The solution to that was to set the container in a pan of hot water for the duration of its baking time. This produced a moister result. All in all the recipe through trial and error has improved to a point where I want to share it.
Preheat oven to 350, use a 2 quart buttered covered casserole
4 cups THINLY sliced peeled apples*
4 or 5 slices of bread
½ cup raisins or chopped dates
¾ cup rough chopped or broken pieces of walnuts (Optional)
½ cup flour
¾ cups brown sugar
1&1/2 cups cider
¼ cup butter plus some for buttering casserole
1 tsp Cinnamon, ½ tsp nutmeg, ¼ tsp clove
¼ tsp salt
Method: Heat cider, butter and spices on stove until butter melts. Stir to blend. Butter well a 2 quart casserole. Pinch off small pieces of bread. Cover bottom of casserole. Make a layer of apples, sprinkle on ¼ cups brown sugar, 2 Tbs flour, ¼ cup raisins and ¼ cup (optional) walnuts. Repeat bread, apples, sugar, flour, rest of raisins ¼ cup (optional) walnuts. End with a layer of bread, apples, (optional) walnuts, sugar and flour. Pour cider mixture over all. Bake covered at 350 for 1 hour. Uncover casserole and bake 10 more minutes to brown. Serve or save for later or next day. It tastes lovely with cream or ice cream or plain. Alternative ingredients: 1 to 2 cups frozen cherries, cut in quarters and 1 to 2 cups frozen blueberries, omit raisins, substitute pecans for walnuts. With berries, you might use a shallow pan filled with water beneath the casserole for a moister pudding that doesn’t stick.
May you enjoy adventures in the kitchen and have fun inventing recipes.
Blessings and Best Regards, Tasha Halpert email@example.com
The Corner Crone: Brigid Butter & Transformation
by Martha Kirby Capo
In the Northern Hemisphere we’re about halfway between the Winter Solstice (December 20) and the Spring Equinox (March 20). Brigid, the keeper of the sacred flame and guardian of hearth and home, offers us not only a chance to tidy away and purify our dwelling places in preparation for the longer days and increased activities of Spring; she offers us an opportunity to do some spiritual house-cleaning and renewal as well.
This is a serious undertaking, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun with your Imbolc celebration. To get yourself in the mood for a little personal transformation, you might try your hand at making some Brigid Butter. You’ll need a few simple materials: clean glass jar with a lid, heavy (or whipping) cream, salt, warm water, cheese cloth (optional), and marble (optional).
Set out your work space, then say a small blessing honoring Brigid. Ask Her blessing upon your physical home and upon the hearth of your heart. Decide on the size jar you need. If you’re celebrating alone you may want to use a larger jar; for a group celebration you may want to opt for baby food jars.
Pour the cream into the jar, filling it about two thirds to three quarters full. (OPTIONAL: add a clean marble to your cream to serve as an agitator and lessen the churning time.) Screw the lid on tightly and plug in some up-tempo Pagan tunes to add to your energy as you start to vigorously shake your jar. Make it an ecstatic dance of joy! Shake your groove thang and booty as you transform the cream into butter!
When the butter has formed (anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes; if you’re using a marble you won’t be able to hear it making noise as the cream thickens) remove it from the jar and rinse it under some warm water to remove the whey. Alternatively, you can put the butter in some cheesecloth and dip it into a bowl of warm water.
Mmmmm butter, Photo by the author.
At this point you might choose to add some salt to your butter. If you’re working in a group, encourage people to bring different kinds of salt to the celebration (or, if you’re working solo, make enough butter so that you can divide it into portions for salting). Serve your butter on bannock cakes as part of your Imbolc celebration, or seal your Brigid butter in an airtight container for use at your next Ritual.
Alexander Carmichael (1832-1912), Scottish folklorist and collector of oral poems and prayers in his multi-volume Carmina Gadelica, collected the following incantation during his travels through the Highlands:
Thou Brigid of the kine
Thou Brigid of the mantles
Shield me from the ban(e)
Of the faeries of the knolls
The faeries of the knolls.
Transformation. Would that the process of transformation, of becoming, of evolving into our highest selves were as simple as flipping a switch, with no time or effort on our parts. But it’s not. Change is hard. It takes work and patience, and then more work and patience. And we are so easily distracted from the long, hard work of self-transformation. Those distractions—those “faeries of the knolls”—can pull us far from the Path we have decided to walk, be it a path toward self-improvement or a path leading us toward a new way of being in the world. Those faeries (negative habits, dead-end relationships, old fears) can be so beautiful, so alluring that we forget that more often than not they’re not very good for us. It’s for a good reason we’re warned to Beware the Faery Folk.
Think of the transformation of the rich, heavy cream into butter. It didn’t just change at the flip of a switch; there was work involved. Agitation. The cream was “all shook up” and kept getting all shook up; you had to commit to the process. Every once in a while you had to check and see how much progress you had made. You probably thought to yourself, “By the old Gods and the new! This stuff is never going to turn into butter!”
But it did. Eventually. With enough perseverance and attention, you turned cream into butter. You did that with your energy. And you will be able to create the same transformation for yourself. Eventually. With enough perseverance and attention. With your energy.
Brigid, as the Goddess of fertility, is associated with midwives and babies. Think about celebrating this year’s Imbolc by becoming your own midwife to the new beginnings stirring deep within you. Nurture that new growth, care for it mindfully and tenderly as it stretches into fruition. Even now, inside you, seeds of change are beginning to unfurl and push their way upward until you notice them, just as the seeds of snowdrops and daffodils are beginning to push their shoots up through the resistance of the earth around them. And soon, sooner than seems possible now, soon you will be transformed.
What You Think Is What you Get
By Madisyn Taylor
You don’t have to know how it will come into your life, just lay the groundwork, follow leads, and prepare for its arrival.
The law of attraction is surprisingly simple: Like attracts like. It becomes a bit more complicated when it comes to training our minds to think in ways that will bring what we desire into our lives. The term “self-fulfilling prophecy” describes the same law. This well-known term explains that we create the circumstances our mind dwells upon, whether positive or negative. So our goal is to practice consistent presence of mind to make sure our thoughts are always directed toward the positive and what we want to create.
A key to the process is the word “frequency.” This is true for two reasons: 1) The frequency you use when you passionately dwell upon or revisit a thought, dream, desire, or goal provides the energy your musings need for creation; and 2) just like a radio station broadcasts on a certain frequency, like the radio you must be “tuned in” to receive it. This means preparing for the arrival of your dream on every possible level–material, physical, and spiritual. You don’t have to know how it will come into your life, just trust that it will. Your job is to lay the groundwork, follow any leads you can find, and prepare for its arrival. This can mean cleaning out your garage to make space for a new car, taking a tour of a model home to get the feel of it in order to feed your fantasies, or thinking of what you want in a mate and then living up to that list yourself.
Just like with any skill, the law of attraction must be practiced. We must decide what makes us feel abundant and use our imagination to create the feeling. It isn’t enough to just want something–you must use the power of your thoughts to attract it. A series of choices is what brings us everything in our lives right now, every moment. When we know the direction in which we want our choices to take us, it is as if we’ve placed an order with the universe. We can then await its arrival with joyful anticipation. If we find ways to experience our dreams right now, we make creating joy a treasure hunt in which the seeking is just as much fun as the finding.
Ambition and Drive with Goldstone
Properties: Goldstone is a man-made stone, just a type of glass with glittery metallic material in it. Its sparkle is due to flecks of copper. Called the stone of ambition and drive, and as such is said to help attain one’s goals. It is a valid classification, as it has many properties of NATURAL glasses, such as obsidian which are modified by its being man-made and having been doped with additives. Originally created when alchemists were working towards creating gold. Gently uplifting, mildly helpful to Solar plexus Chakra. Goldstone is also said to help one stay calm and stabilize the emotions. It can be used as an energy generator and can deflect unwanted energies, making it used as a protection stone. It is also used for long distance healing and revitalizing one’s energy field. Goldstone allows an increased flow of energy to channel through the sender. This makes it a great Reiki stone, for it allows this energy to flow by emanating it from the sender’s hands.
Folk Remedies: Helps to reduce stomach tension, protects the center of the body. Goldstone also has many of the metaphysical properties of copper, including strengthening the circulatory system, strengthening bones and eases arthritis pain.
Feng Shui: Goldstone (brown, gold, yellow) can be placed in the Center area of your home or work environment as it will help calm over excitability and promote a sense of well being. Also, use (black or blue) goldstone in the North (Career) area or (green or purple) goldstone in the Wealth/Prosperity area.
Crystal Cleansing: method 1 – 8
History: Goldstone is actually a man-made glass with flecks of copper suspended in it, which give it the sparkles. Goldstone was originally created by French monks, and in time the secret was lost. Another story had goldstone being (re)discovered or recreated in the 17th century when Venetian glassmaker Vincenzo Miotti was credited with the invention of goldstone. The island of Murano, part of Venice, has been a center of glass making in Italy for centuries. As a major trade good, glass artists were discouraged from leaving and their techniques were safely guarded. Goldstone was especially prized by the Chinese, who called it jinxing boli, “gold star glassâ€. It remained a trade secret until the process was disclosed during the early 19th century. Goldstone is a popular material because of its beauty as well as its metaphysical properties lore. Goldstone was known historically as aventurine glass, from its Italian name avventurina, from the root aventura meaning “by luck”, chance, or risk€. The name may refer to the random nature of its spangles or the difficulty in producing it.

Doing Our Best
By Madisyn Taylor
Your best is always good enough, because it comes from you, and you are always good enough.
We often come into contact with the idea that our best isn’t good enough, as if this were actually possible. If you examine this notion, you will begin to see that it doesn’t make much sense. Your best is always good enough, because it comes from you, and you are always good enough. You may not be able to deliver someone else’s idea of the best, but the good news is that’s not your burden. You only need to fulfill your own potential, and as long as you remain true to that calling, and always do your best to fulfill your purpose, you don’t need to expect anything more from yourself.
It’s easy to get tangled up with the idea of trying to be the best–the best parent, the best employee, the best child, or best friend. If we try to be the best, we run the risk of short-circuiting our originality because we are striving to fit into someone else’s vision of success. In addition, if everyone is striving for the same outcome, we lose out on creativity, diversity, and visionary alternatives to the way things are done. On another note, there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve, but examining where this feeling comes from is important because wanting to be better than others is our ego coming into play.
Letting go of the tendency to hold ourselves up to other people’s standards, and letting go of the belief that we need to compete and win, doesn’t mean we don’t believe in doing the best job we can. We always strive to do our best, because when we do we create a life free of regret, knowing we have performed to the best of our ability. This allows us to feel great personal satisfaction in all of our efforts, regardless of how others perceive the outcome.
It was after breakfast Sunday morning. Sippi expected to have the day off. She turned to Raven. ” I need some time to myself,” Sippi said as they wiped the last of the breakfast dishes and put them away.
Raven looked at her. “You want me to leave? I don’t understand you Sippi.”
“That’s ok Raven. Most times I don’t understand myself. So I guess that makes us even.”
He shrugged. “If that’s what you really want…” He looked at her. She nodded.
How about a parting kiss then?” he said. “I’ll take you to dinner tonight, OK?”
“Sure,” Sippi said. “But I think separate maintenance for us makes sense.”
“So we just go along my not understanding but loving you anyway?”
“To me that’s so romantic,” Sippi said. “Brings out the best in us.”
Raven shook his head. “Maybe Magee understands. I certainly don’t.”
“What’s to understand Raven,” she said. “Let’s just let it flow. One of these days…”
“There you go getting whimsical, Sippi. Sometimes I think you’re the most manipulative woman who walks the earth. It’s always your way or the highway.”
Sippi laughed. “And you know Raven sometimes I think the exact same of you.”
I barked and wagged my tail.
Just as Aunt Bea pulled into Sippi’s driveway, Raven left. Sippi fluffed up the couch cushions where Raven had slept.
Aunt Bea came in. “Hi Sippi.” She picked up Snowflake. “Oh you adorable little darlin’,” she cooed. She hugged her and stroked her the way a child would care for a favorite doll. You’re the most lovely toy poodle I’ve ever seen. And pure white, how wonderful. You must be a show dog. Someone’s taken exceedingly special care of you.”
I waited patiently for my usual treat but that morning all Aunt Bea’s attention was devoted to Snowflake. Snowflake played it to the hilt, making sly little puppy sounds and cuddling against Aunt Bea.
“Here Darlin’ let me give you a treat.” She reached into her bag and pulled out a lobster crab wafer. Snowflake devoured it and sniffed expectantly for more. I wagged my tail and yipped softly to no avail. Maybe I wasn’t her favorite anymore.
“Here Magee,” Sippi tossed me a spicy shrimp ball. I scarfed it down but felt a sad. Compared to lobster crab wafers spicy shrimp balls had lost their appeal.
Snowflake loved the attention. Aunt Bea fed her several more lobster crab wafers and I wondered what sort of indigestion Snowflake might endure later on.
Sippi told Aunt Bea how I had rescued Snowflake when we arrived at the Spike mansion just after he and his wife had been murdered.
“What about his son, Sippi? That juvenile delinquent who tried stealing Charley’s Cadillac?”
“Good question,” Sippi said. “He and that friend with him were detained, booked for attempted theft and released on personal recognizance.”
All this time Snowflake was playing Aunt Bea for all she could. She licked her and made little whimpers that seemed to me to be totally fake. I thought of warning her to take it easy with the lobster crab treats but who am I to get involved. It’s not like we were buddies after all; and if she got indigestion… But Aunt Bea had bought her act hook, line and sinker.
Then Aunt Bea kissed Snowflake’s nose and said, “Oh Darlin’, wouldn’t you like to come and live with me and Charley?” She turned to Sippi. “That work for you Sippi? Be ok my taking home this lovely Snowflake?”
“Sure,” Sippi said. “But just in case it might be a good idea to get her checked out by a vet. I’ve no idea how long she was huddled out there alone in the cold.”
Personally I could have cared less. It’s not like Snowflake and I had any strong chemistry, quite the opposite. The short time she was here with us the little snob avoided me, sneaked some of my breakfast after scarfing down a bowl of puppy chow herself and completely ignored Fu.
“Have fun,” I told her in dog speak. “Eat all you want. Put on a ton of weight. Roll around like a fat white pig.”
Snowflake jumped from Aunt Bea’s lap and stood nose to nose with me. “You’re deplorable,” came her snippy reply. “Plus you shed, your breath smells like a sewer, and you snore.”
I knew for a fact I neither snore nor shed. Her saying that was mean. Sippi brushes me practically every day; she even brushes my teeth. Maybe I make an occasional dog whimper when I nap and am dreaming, but that was far from snoring.
“Just remember I saved you.” The minute I said that I knew it sounded a little lame and was beneath my dignity.”
“Thanks weasel,” she shot back. “But I’d have been rescued sooner or later.”
That weasel crack almost made me growl.
Aunt Bea scooped her up again, all kissy and loving. She reached into her bag. “Here Darlin’ have another lobster crabmeat wafer. Charles has them imported from Denmark.” Snowflake scarfed it up.
Aunt Bea stroked her. “What’s with her collar, Sippi? It looks shabby and feels lumpy like something’s sewn in between the leather folds. I think we should take a look.”
But Snowflake had other ideas. Just as Aunt Bea reached for her collar Snowflake barked, jumped away from her and whimpered piteously. Her strained bark registered pure fear. To me she pleaded, “Help me Magee. Keep them away, please!”
Aunt Bea bent over to pick her back up. “My God,” Aunt Bea exclaimed. “Look Sippi, her collar has been sewn onto her coat. How dreadful is that?”
Sippi mouth fell open. “That’s horrible. You poor little girl; no wonder you acted that way.” She stroked Snowflake gently and said to Aunt Bea. “I think we’d best take her to the vet and have that collar removed surgically.”
“You can trust Sippi and Aunt Bea,” I told her. “They will help you.”
Then Sippi’s device sounded. It was Chief Mallory.
“Bopp get over to the Spike place or what’s left of it. His son Horace Spike Jr.’s body has been discovered along with that of his friend Tommy Murphy who was apprehended with him last night trying to steal Charley Smile’s Cadillac. Both were shot; bullets match those used to kill Spike and his wife. Something very strange is occurring here.”

Weekly horoscopes beginning: Monday, 04 February 2019
If you`re born within cusp period (16 to 26 of any month); you`re advised to read horoscopes of both signs covered by that period. You`re in the border; you may have influences from houses within those signs.
Outlines are longer versions; consists of every possible detail of everyday and based on three parts of each sign: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Decan; that is, any of three divisions of 10° within a sign of the zodiac. Even if you know or don`t know your Decan; I recommend, please read all three Decan.
Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19
Your horoscope for this week: Sometimes obstacles are no more than that; but those you`re currently facing are forcing you to delve into the source of problems, past and present. Why? So, you can learn from them and, better yet, end many of these for good. This review is also about setting goals, for now but also the future. Think carefully. Your decisions will have a powerful, and lasting, influence.
Relationships at work are likely to be lively and animated as you work as one of a team towards a mutual goal. A combined effort will make short work of a difficult task and you will probably make some firm friends along the way. Start trying now, to bring improvements into your life. Farsighted thinking will improve your prospects and although you may have expected things to be different, your family will be supportive of your plans and ideas.
Despite the fact that Mars is still moving through your sign, it could take a couple of days after Monday`s New Moon before you really are all systems go. That may be no bad thing. For the last time in over eight decades, the Sun and Uranus (still passing through your sign), are a fifth of a cycle apart from one another: indicating the potential for highly original thinking. Included in this may be reviewing what you could prove from your life; minimalizing where necessary and determining a budget will likely be imperative. Then, with renewed confidence you can move forward so that by the time the Sun makes excellent aspect to Jupiter on Friday you are ready for grand adventure. Going it alone is a strong possibility. Doing it with the barest minimum seems likely too. One last thought: remember that during 2019 Saturn is passing over the very apex of your solar chart. This is where you can conquer mountains and gain enormous respect and professional recognition.
Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20
Your horoscope for this week: During the recent, unsettling, period you`d struggled to say farewell to familiar elements of your life. Now, however, you`re relieved things are falling into place. Still, regard arrangements as tentative. That way, you`ll welcome the new cycle that begins when fiery Mars moves into Taurus, on Thursday, the 14th. The more flexible your thinking, the greater your freedom to respond to the resulting thrilling developments.
Increased involvement in community affairs, group and cooperative efforts will all enrich your life. Don`t be surprised to find yourself in demand at home, at work and socially. In fact, people can`t seem to get enough of you these days. You may have to get some additional training to make a success of a new venture. Working towards gathering qualifications to help advance your career would be a good now, so any sacrifices you may have to make will be worth it.
Monday`s New Moon accents the apex of your solar chart and coincides with Venus arrival in another of the Earth signs. You may be reminded that there are things you don`t yet know and that now would be the optimum time to undertake a course. Of course, it is as likely that you will be asked by others if you can deliver one! Note that Mars will arrive in your sign midmonth. At that point, you`ll likely have the energy and necessary drive to push things forward. Now, with this New Moon is the time for planning. In that respect, you could have enormous success between Wednesday and Friday. Your design skills will likely come to the fore. With your presentation improving almost by the hour, by the time you deliver important thoughts at the beginning of next week, you may have a ready and willing audience and the promise of considerable reward.
Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20
Your horoscope for this week: You`ve been struggling to find ways to overcome several frustrating situations. Monday`s New Moon may bring timely insights. Still, continue to explore your options. You`ll be excited but also confused. In fact, things won`t be clear until mid-month. The trick is to organise plans and gather those who`d be involved, but ensure any arrangements are flexible enough you can rethink them, probably more than once.
A change of scene will do you the world of good. Whether it is work or friendship related, you will benefit from a willingness to broaden your horizons and experience. Success and happiness will come through exploring pastures new. If finances have been in a bit of a mess, arrangements you are making now should be viewed as a new starting point. This is your chance to plan ahead realistically and nip any potential money problems in the bud.
Monday`s New Moon is in another of the Air signs. (normal for this time of year). What`s special this time is that that lunation coincides with Venus changing signs. For you, this likely marks the start of a working relationship with someone who is familiar with rules and regulations. Exasperating as this may be at some level, bear in mind that their contacts and experience should yet prove useful. Even if things are difficult by midweek (which seems likely), note that they might simply need time to adjust to your ways of working and thinking. A way forward could yet be found. Yes, in the process you may need to learn about which rules can never be broken. Accountability looks set to be a huge issue over these next few months. Be prepared too, that from mid-February you may need to dig deep into archives. This week then it would be as well to learn how these can be accessed with ease when that task becomes necessary.
Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22
Your horoscope for this week: Don`t be surprised if others seem unable to make even simple decisions or are worryingly hesitant about committing to joint plans. They`re still wrestling with practical uncertainties and will be for a week or so. Support them but discreetly withdraw, busying yourself with personal matters that need thought, then to be put into order. By the time you`re done, others will be ready to make their move, too.
A special project will get the green light. There will be problems to overcome, as you are expecting, and the more organised you are, the easier you will find it to keep on top of everything. You may not have realised how tired you were of the same old routine until you start making some changes. Family life can be improved through trying new things together and events later in the week will bring reason to enjoy a small family celebration.
It`s interesting that Monday`s New Moon coincides with Venus` arrival in your opposite sign. There is every possibility of a new working partnership forming over the course of the next few days. In some ways this could take you by surprise. You may be astonished to discover that your place on a team has been secured – even without you are actually applying for it.. It is also likely that someone with whom you are already in financial partnership will be offered another and yes amazing opportunity. If there is a difficulty here, it`s that the person concerned may be reluctant to take on extra responsibility. Your task may be to persuade them that they`re more than capable of accepting the challenge and that it need not be a burden. One way or another, by next weekend there may be much to discuss as regards opportunity and options. Note that Mars changes signs midmonth. At that point, your social life should soon go into overdrive. This may well include a networking opportunity which again results of career doors opening.
Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22
Your horoscope for this week: After weeks of unsettling events and the twists and turns triggered by eclipses, you`re eager to turn ideas into plans, and those into action. You will, but changes of which you`re unaware still need to be discussed and dealt with. These will surface between now and midmonth. In the meanwhile? Declutter your life, especially of once-prized projects that are now unrealistic and, equally, impractical passions.
It will be a pleasure for you to work alongside people who value your aptitudes and attitude. Teamwork brings tremendous rewards. A lot will be achieved in a practical sense and you will be introduced to people who will be important in your future. If you`re thinking about entering a long-term deal, whether this is a loan, investment plan or mortgage application, all seems to be looking good. The terms of a contract will be financially beneficial to you.
Monday`s New Moon is the regular one in your opposite sign. What`s different this year, is that that same day Venus moves into Capricorn and over the next few weeks will be moving through one of the risk assessment areas of your solar chart. You may then feel the need for time to grapple with all the different options that are presented and though true, a large part of you might want to sign on the dotted line, another part might urge caution and seek reassurance that by acting in haste you won`t repent in leisure. Fact is that you likely need time to listen to your inner voice. It might also be an idea to discuss options with someone who doesn`t know you at all. In fact, the more detached that person can be, the better. Before the Full Moon on February 19 you could yet be propelled on new career path.
Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22
Your horoscope for this week: Gathering all the necessary facts is one thing, and you`re actually doing very well at that. However, acknowledging your feelings about certain potential changes is challenging, so much so your priorities are becoming more confused by the day. Be patient. The Virgo Full Moon, on the 19th, will bring these together, dramatically but also with the variety of clarity you`ll need to make lasting commitments.
Think about increasing any effort you are already making to get into better physical shape. Taking regular exercise and eating nutritious food will pay off handsomely. If you`re thinking about improving your diet, prepare healthy meals at home that you can take to work. You`re highly sensitive to your environment and this means you are more able to understand how it feels to be in another person`s shoes. A neighbour will be grateful for your help and compassion.
Pinning others down and getting them to focus on the tasks that you feel to be imperative will likely prove a challenge – especially during the second half of this week. yet early next month the planet Uranus yes, the planet of `doing things very differently`, changes signs. This week it makes one of its last major aspects to the Sun. For some people (notably those born under the Air or Fire signs), this could coincide with flashes of inspiration. They might want to develop these thoughts rather than focus on the detailed negotiations that you feel to be imperative. In short, you may be on a collision course with those who are determined to follow a new path when you don`t feel that old issues have been given sufficient attention. You are likely right to conclude that this does need to be resolved this week if it`s not to be a hiatus next week. Note too, that it would be a good idea to do whatever you can to support your very finely tuned nervous system which presently, may be under considerable stress.
Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22
Your horoscope for this week: Unsettling as recent changes in circumstances or in your own position may have been, they`ve led to timely discussions about ways to improve on existing plans and, better yet, exciting breakthroughs. True, this means taking certain once-settled arrangements back to the drawing board; but with the foundation on which these would be based shifting anyway, and you having questions about what`s wise, the timing couldn`t be better.
Some interesting challenges face you and there`s unlikely to be a dull moment. A creative project provides the perfect chance for you to share your ideas and imagination. If you have ever wanted to make pottery, jewellery or furniture this would be a great time to begin. A close friendship is important to your happiness. It may be necessary to give someone more breathing space. Just because they`re spending more time with a new friend it doesn`t mean you`re out in the cold.
It might be as well to think of yourself as being on a grand adventure as of Monday`s New Moon. That same day Venus arrives at the very base of your solar chart and whatever this adventure is, you could feel quite at home within it – and very quickly. True, plans could be overturned midweek when the Sun makes aspect to Uranus (still make making its way through your opposite sign); and yes, this could lead into another hiatus of activity in the middle of next week. For now, though, it does appear that all eyes will be on you – and especially over next weekend. It may be the key decisions have to be taken. If at all possible, then between Wednesday and Friday it would be a good idea to walk near water and preferably in silence. Listening to your inner voice should give you good clues as to what direction to take. It`s well known that Libras tend to procrastinate. It may be imperative that you don`t show this side of your nature next week. Indeed, before the Full Moon on February 19th having a set plan and schedule to work to would be a very good idea.
Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21
Your horoscope for this week: Having waited, and very patiently, for all the necessary elements to be in place, you`re still wondering when certain plans will come good. Actually, with the foundation on which these are based shifting, it`s best that arrangements are still flexible. Tempting as it is to keep things as they are, at least explore your options. What you discover could be as exciting as it is surprising.
If you have a big family, don`t expect to get much peace at home while some major renovations are in progress. If you aren`t refurbishing your place yourself, a friend will ask you to help them do their place up. Are you thinking of moving? Look for a property near water. Take your time when dealing with important business matters. You may not be seeing things for what they really are. Someone who appears to be offering reliable advice could turn out to be a disappointment.
There are times when you have the gift of thinking way out of the box. Challenged this week by someone who tends to play always within the rules, you could present an argument that even they can`t refute. True, they might read this as you are trying a play for their job; and yes, there could be an undercurrent of power struggle. Yet it`s doubtful that this really is the driver and far more likely that you can see an opportunity which, if played correctly, could yet be to everyone`s advantage. Before Mercury leaves the base of your solar chart next weekend there`s every chance you could persuade others round to your way of thinking and even – if you choose not to be team leader, – result in your profile being much enhanced.
Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21
Your horoscope for this week: While you`re by no means resistant to rethinking existing plans or new ideas, you`re also getting exasperated with frequent changes, mostly because they`re delaying progress. Eager as you are to proceed, you`ll benefit from the resulting discussions. Each is adding to your perspective about what`s possible and the direction plans would be taking you. What you learn will prove far more valuable than you imagine possible.
You aren`t expecting new ventures to be a piece of cake, but neither are you expecting some people to pull out at the first hurdle. You enjoy a challenge and even if it takes longer than planned or anticipated, you know you will succeed in whatever you set out to do. You are feeling lucky and your optimism shines through. Life will offer an unusual amount of variety, so this is your chance to test your abilities in a wide spectrum of directions.
You only need to watch the news for 5 minutes to realise that we are living through a chaotic and challenging period. Even if only watching from afar, it would be understandable if you got all fired up about developments and particularly interested in the legal arguments that are presented. Whilst at one level it might seem imperative that you act to protect your position, it`s perhaps also the case that you will sense that what you really need to do is to be prepared that acting when there is greater clarity. That should come around the full moon on February 19. This week then may be all about information gathering obtaining estimates and, as though you`re involved in a complicated game of chess, positioning yourself for a major move.
Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19
Your horoscope for this week: Once you understand that, no matter how many facts you explore or questions you ask, unexpected twists will still demand you reshape plans, you`ll be less aggravated by frequent, and sudden, changes. They`re taking place during a period that`s unsettling for every sign. It`s just that, because you plan so carefully, you worry you`ll miss something. On the contrary, what`s least expected could benefit you most.
A change of scenery would make the pressures of daily life seem very far away. There will be a few small hiccups on a journey or if you find yourself in faraway places but the pleasure you gain through these experiences will outweigh any difficulties. Don`t make this a week of all work and no play or you will miss out on some wonderful opportunities. If you are single, someone you meet will bring a romantic quality to your world that you can hardly fail to ignore.
Monday`s new moon coincides with Venus arrival in your sign. This is not an insignificant event. The combination suggests that others will be looking for you to join their team. Indeed, an overture could be made before next weekend. Determining with whom you want to work and the circumstances under which you would negotiate may be something that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later. Involvement with those who work with cutting edge technology is probable.. You might also need to deal with what is best could be described as a quirky situation involving someone who is wholly eccentric and perhaps even, as far as you`re concerned, fractionally unstable. On this occasion, you might need to address risk assessment during a presentation or key meeting before the weekend.
Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18
Your horoscope for this week: Ordinarily Monday`s Aquarius New Moon would mark your personal New Year. However, with your ruling planet Uranus moving into a new position on 6 March, life`s about change, discovery and growth. So, explore every idea or offer, more for what you can learn than as something to pursue. Equally, review as yet unrealised dreams. Over the coming weeks, events could turn them into reality.
This would be a good time to find ways to break free from anything that feels tedious and predictable. Take positive steps to make life more enjoyable by doing something different. No matter what is getting you down, a few days off will renew your zest for life. There is more going on in a group situation than what is being said. Keep your eyes and ears open. Body language will help you come to understand what some people can`t, or won`t say.
Monday`s New Moon is in your sign. That event coincides with Venus arriving in neighbouring Capricorn. The combination suggests that a new working partnership could easily develop over these next few days. True, it will likely take some time to assess the other person`s skills and talents; and yes, at some level you might feel irritated that you`re being forced to accept this person on your team when you may not have chosen them in the first place. You could yet though be taken by surprise by their creativity and unusual approach. Equally of course they may be surprised by yours. Before Mercury leaves your sign next weekend, bonds could yet be forged. What`s interesting is that you may have increased contact with those whose first language is not your own and whose network is considerable. This may be something you want to make the most of next month.
Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20
Your horoscope for this week: While many have contended with changes as sudden as they`ve been unsettling, what you`ve faced could be regarded as breakthroughs, both in past issues and situations involving others. The only problem is helping them feel comfortable with what`s happened. Some won`t, at least for now. Tempting as it is to be sympathetic, do the minimum. Pressing matters of your own must take priority.
A spirited exchange of ideas will give you plenty of food for thought. A memory you have of a past event doesn`t seem to match what other people who shared the experience are telling you. Be prepared to review opinions you`ve held for a long time. Rumours that you have a secret admirer will amuse you. If you are single you could want to find out more. If you are already in a committed relationship, you might hope your partner doesn`t get to hear what you have heard.
You probably know, that your sign is depicted as two fishes swimming in opposite directions; and yes, there are times when those of your sign appear unsure as to where you are headed. You can appear confused and dazed. It`s likely imperative that you don`t give that impression midweek especially as the Moon passes through your sign. Though others might state frequently that they can`t be expected to read your mind, it`s perhaps true, that you haven`t spelt things out clearly. Doing so before a key meeting on Friday may be imperative. Note that in 2019 Mercury has an extended time in your sign. That may well be indicative of you taking circuitous routes to getting to where you want to be – but getting there in the end. En-route it will surely be imperative for you to explain to others frequently – and at each stage – your game plan.
