Llewellyn’s Spell a Day

Eagle Spirit Bag for Courage
Spell Date: Sunday, February 11, 2018

February is a great time to pack up the family and go birding. In my neck of the country, eagles can be seen dotting the nearby rivers and tributaries, feasting on spawning salmon. The eagle is a powerful symbol for courage, so why not bag up some of that eagle spirit power for a little spiritual pluck? You will need:

* A drawstring bag
* 1 to 2 eagle’s claw seed pods (Uncaria rhynchophylla)
* A pinch of dried chili pepper
* A bloodstone

Put all of your ingredients in the drawstring bag. Hold the bag in your hands and focus on the eagle’s inherent energies. Imagine yourself set free from insecurities and doubt. You are powerful and courageous. You can endure anything. Now say:

“Eagle spirit, as my guiding power,
Set me free from anxiety’s bower.
Lend me courage three times three,
As the spirit wills it, so mote it be!”

Carry your eagle spirit bag with you as needed for extra courage.

Simple Magic
Spell Date: Saturday, February 10, 2018

Magic is like food. There are many different cultures, tastes, and techniques. Tools and ingredients can be obscure and difficult to find, or they can be everyday kitchen items. Preparation can be elaborate or simple. My household is busy, and mealtime is often time to “perform miracles”— to make a five-minute meal that tastes great and nourishes us. Magically, I rely on simple magic I can perform in a crisis—no lengthy preparations or hard-to-find ingredients.

Today, make your own simple magic spell. Take something you do every day ( like showering or drinking tea) and turn it into a magic spell (for protection or invoking clarity and focus). Everyday objects and practices can anchor our consciousness, facilitate self-awareness, and remind us of our ability to choose change. Like a hot meal when you’re hungry and tired, simple magic can transform energy. At the end of a long day, if it ain’t simple, it won’t work.

A Snow and Stone Spell
Spell Date: Friday, February 9, 2018

You may use this ritual to end a habit or problem in your life. You’ll need a small stone no larger than a walnut, some black paint, and some snow or crushed ice.

After you select your stone, paint it black as you focus on blocking or getting rid of your problem, then let it dry. Next, using snow or ice, form a ball around the stone. Place the snow/ice-covered stone outside where it won’t be disturbed and say:

“Snow [Ice] and stone, end my
problem, and may it leave me alone.”

Let the snow or ice melt naturally, even if it takes weeks. After the snow has melted, return and press the stone into the earth. Leave it undisturbed. Your problem will fade as the negative energy from the stone is harmlessly absorbed by Mother Earth.

Four Corners Household Protection
Spell Date: Thursday, February 8, 2018

The house and home are sacred. At home we can fully be ourselves and let loose. At home we can rejuvenate our bodies and minds. At home we can plan ahead for the future while we take a breath and find our center.

To add a little boost of protection and calming energy to your home, gather five stones of the same type. My suggestions include fluorite, agate (especially moss agate), amazonite, jasper, or turquoise. If nothing else, simply use five small quartz crystals.

Secure four of the stones in the corners of the house, whether buried outside or somehow affixed inside. Place the fifth stone as close to the center of the house as you can manage, equidistant from the others. Visualize the stones linking in a boxed X formation, creating a shield around the house and within. Visualize this connection any time to reinforce the magick.

Feel free to modify this spell for a bedroom or apartment in any manner your intuition guides you. Get creative and have fun!

True Love Waits
Spell Date: Wednesday, February 7, 2018

Valentine’s Day brings the opportunity for romance, and this spell increases your chances for love. It will not bring a reluctant lover to you, though, so don’t try to control anyone’s free will. This only works if the two of you have some chemistry and a real chance at creating a relationship.

You’ll need two stones and a sunny windowsill for this spell. Put one stone in the left inside corner of the windowsill and the second stone in the far right corner. Every day, move the stones a little bit closer together, only a centimeter or so each time. As you move them, say the following chant:

“Bit by bit, if it’s meant to be,
You’ll open your heart and come to me.”

If this person truly is meant for you, then by the time the stones are together on the window, you’ll be in each other’s arms!

Music with a Message
Spell Date: Tuesday, February 6, 2018

Today is musical artist Bob Marley’s birthday. Marley’s music was known for conveying a variety of messages, so take the opportunity today to make a statement through song.

In honor of this well-loved artist, listen to a few of his songs today. Do any of them seem to speak to you about something in your life or a philosophy you have? Do some journaling on the topic, if you feel moved. Then do a bit of magick to work on that area of life. Cater your magick to your topic, but keep it simple, perhaps with a color-coordinated candle and oil. You can play your chosen Marley song as your spell candle burns down, reinforcing your intent.

Music is magick. Today, let Marley’s magic be a catalyst for your own!

Clean Slate Spell
Spell Date: Monday, February 5, 2018

Snow is a common occurrence during the winter months and in the mountains. If you live in an area where snow is common, you can utilize that in your spells. If you live in a climate that does not typically have snow, you can create your own by shaving ice in a blender and then pouring that onto a flat surface.

For this spell, write out a word or phrase in the snow. Fresh snowfall will accumulate on the word or phrase and obliterate it, or you can wipe your hand through the snow to create the effect of a clean slate. This will give you a fresh start regarding the matter.

For example, you may want to quit a bad habit. So write the habit out in the snow with the intention that you are starting over and this will no longer be a part of your life. You are giving it up and the higher power will work with you to obscure this from your higher self.

Heartwings Love Notes 813: The Many Kinds of Love

Heartwings says, “Romance is only one form for the expression of love.”

A dear friend was bemoaning his recent breakup with his former girlfriend. “Nobody loves me,” he mourned. “I love you,” I replied. “But you love everybody,” he retorted. I sighed and nodded. I wished I could cheer him up, however he seemed determined to be sad. Many crave romantic love and are not comforted by the fact that they are loved in other ways. Valentines and Valentines’ Day aside, romantic love, while nice to have in one’s life is not necessarily the most satisfying.

According to the Internet, the Sanskrit language has 96 words for love, ancient Persian has 80, Greek has three and we have only one. What a sad state of affairs! There are synonyms that express a loving feeling for someone or something like fondness, affection, adoration, and so on. Regardless, they do not adequately describe the love of a child for its parents, of the attachment many feel for their animal companions, or even where they live. You probably would not say, “I am fond of my baby, my cat, or feel affection for my home,” you would usually say, “I love…”

The fact that we have no other word for it means that we apply the term love to many situations and individuals. We say we “love” this or that or them, yet we do not mean we have romantic feelings. Does this weaken the impact of the word? My friend’s dismay when I told him I loved him might indicate that the love I had for him was somehow not as desirable or as important as the love of his girlfriend. Yet my feelings for him were actually less tinged with judgment nd more comprehensive than the ones he craved to hear from her.

Unconditional love or in Latin Caritas and in Greek Agape may be the most important of the kinds of love we can express for others or even for dwelling places or animals. That kind of love carries no criticism or parameters, no qualifiers or desire for any return. It is simply and purely love in its most beautiful form. When we are at our most loving is when we can give this love to others. It has the power to transform and to heal as well as to uplift. It is this love that the martyred St. Valentine back in the days of Rome portrays to us. Perhaps his love as he expressed it to others before he was executed might be seen as an example for us all.

May you feel as loved as you wish, and give as much love as you receive.

Blessings and Best regards, Tasha Halpert <>

I always appreciate readers’ comments and am happy to respond. Do you enjoy romantic love? Or do other forms of love seem more important to you? Do write and let me know how you feel.

New Moon in Aquarius February 15, 2018
by Patty Shaw

An Aquarian moon is a trip The new moon stands alone in February. While the full moon hangs off the end of January and ushers in March the February new moon is holding down the fort and basking in the delightful energy of Aquarius.
This is my favorite zodiac sign because it’s so eccentric, full of rich rebellion and being outside the box. Doesn’t it seem like the perfect time to start a novel, invent the next better mouse trap or delight us all with soulful art or song? I’m floating away just thinking about it.

When the muse bites you during this new moon, don’t take Benadryl, go ahead and get spacey.

Let go of your limitations and let those creative juices flow. You’ll find it’s very healing for your soul. This is because you are a creative creature and you need expression to keep away depression. Oh look I made a rhyme. Let’s light a candle together to keep this wonderful vib going. I’m going to light Inner Beauty Affirmation candle and dress it with Neroli Energetic oil to lift my spirit and let it soar. What candle and oil combination will you choose to ride this new moon’s wave of creativity and imagination?

Casting A Circle
by Tina Vickers

This is known as a Magic Circle or Ritual Circle. The Ritual Circle is an area marked by a person as a sacred and protective area for them to complete their rituals or spellcasting. The Circle blocks unwanted spirits and energies that may be attracted to your energy. Creating this space is what is known as Casting a Circle.

There are a number of ways to Cast a Circle. You can physically mark it out with crystals or stones, salt, chalk, etc., or you can simply visualize it. One of the more common ways to Cast a Circle is to use your finger, wand, or Athame and trace around the edge of the Circle going clockwise three times. For greater protection, you can start in the East and trace to the South, West, and North. Candles representing each direction’s Element (Air, Fire, Water, and Earth, respectively) are often placed along the edge of the Circle as well. To close the Circle, trace around the edge of the Circle three times counterclockwise.

The Circle is considered a solid protective barrier, and as such, one should stay in the Circle until it is closed to avoid weakening or dispelling it altogether. If you have to leave the Circle, you should create a “doorway” of sorts using your Athame or wand. Just remember to close the “doorway” once you have passed through.

Stephen Halpert
The Magic Wand, #6 Conclusion

The following morning Uncle Jack joined Todd and Becky for breakfast. He looked hail and hearty, buoyant and boy like, his old mischievous look danced in his eyes. “My appetite’s back. I could eat a horse.”
“You’ll have to settle for scrambled eggs and toast.” Becky smiled and hugged Jack. “Any thoughts on the day?”
“I think I’d like to pay a visit to that museum.”
“I’ll take you,” Becky said. “After we see Dr. C.”
“Do I have to,” Jack said.
Becky recognized his old boyhood truculence. Some things never change, she thought
“Besides,” he quibbled. “Don’t you have to make an appointment for months in advance.”
“Not with Dr. C,” Becky said. “He’s an old fashioned family doctor, there when you need him.”
“A throwback to the early days of medicine before insurance companies and big Pharma ruled,” Todd added.
“But I’m fine. I feel like a new man,” Jack said.
“Yes,” Becky said. “I hear you. And you look wonderful too. But I’m not taking any chances. I treasure you too much for there to be any doubts.”
David ran in from the back door. “They’re gone. I went to feed the mice, but they’re gone.”
“First the crow now the mice,” Todd said.
“The turkey not in the back yard,” David added. “Maybe it’s gone too.”
“Or ran off and eloped with the cat,” Todd chuckled. “These days nothing would surprise me.”
“No, I’ve seen the cat around looking mournful, but no turkey,” Becky said from the stove.
Jack grinned. “What happened to that empirical insistence of yours?”
Todd chuckled. “I guess David’s magic wand put all that in a new perspective. Why I wouldn’t be surprised if in fact that cow really did jump over the moon.” He went to the stove and helped Becky serve the breakfast.
Midway through breakfast Todd asked, “Any thoughts on the inscription on the wand. They couldn’t figure it out at the museum.”
“I don’t think it’s really words,” Jack said. “More like notches made on the wand by the spirit within the medicine man after each healing.”
“That would make sense,” Becky said.
The phone rang. Todd answered it. “Yes he’s here. Oh just a moment, no problem at all. I’ll put him on.” He handed Jack the phone. “For you.”
Jack looked quizzical. “Hello.” His eyes lit up and he smiled broadly. “Julia. Oh it’s so good to hear your voice. Yes, we had a major miracle and I’m feeling considerably better. Remember that wand I told you I was giving my nephew David for Christmas? Well it saved my bacon.”
There was a pause. “Of course I’m not kidding. Me? Whatever gave you that idea. You’re what? Flying to Boston? But why? I’m fine.”
Becky thought she heard a voice from the phone say, “to see you.”
“I miss you too,”‘ Jack said. “Oh absolutely. Yes check into the Inn and we’ll all do dinner. It’s time you met my family.”
Becky saw that far away look in his eyes, the sort of expression a man demonstrates when his heart’s been touched.
“Yes, take the express bus to Framingham and then the limo to the Inn. Give a call when you’re settled and we’ll be over.”
He signed off and handed the phone back to Todd. “Julia’s coming to see me. She said she was worried. She’s been with me since that first diagnosis.”
“You look smitten,” Becky said. “And you a confirmed bachelor too.”
Jack’s eyes misted over. “Julia’s the maven of Key West. She and her late husband were friends with that Hemingway crowd. Imagine finding time to come all this way just to see me.” That’s certainly the best thing about today.”
On their way to Dr. C’s clinic Jack filed Becky in about Julia Cassidy. The maven of Key West, as he put it had been his landlady renting him a room in her Victorian mansion when he returned to the states after traveling in Africa before he bought his condo. Since her husband’s passing she’d remained continually busy with social and charitable activities, helping out wherever she was needed.
“Maybe she’s the one,” Becky said.
Jack wrinkled his nose. “Well I wouldn’t go quite that far but we’ve become dear friends over the years.”
At his clinic Becky introduced Jack to Dr. C.
“Jack Hamilton.” Dr. C seemed to search his mind. “The author and explorer?”
“Guilty as charged.” Jack smiled.
“I’ve read your stories in The New Yorker.”
Jack grinned modestly. “I’m glad somebody does.”
“Tell him what you told me about the CA125 test,” Becky said.
Jack frowned, reached inside his jacket and handed Dr. C. some medical forms.
Dr. C. ushered him into his office.
A half hour later they emerged. “Are you serious about your nephew waving a magic wand over you? That sounds more like one of your short stories than what actually happened.”
“It’s astounding but true,” Jack said.
Dr. C, nodded. “I’ve always been a supporter of folk medicine and remedies but this is just a little too over the top for me to even try to comprehend.”
“That makes two of us,” Jack said.
“Well I’ll get the blood to the lab and let you know what they come up with. Might take a few days. I want a comprehensive analysis. But you certainly seem strong and healthy to me.”
.The two shook hands and Jack and Becky left.
“Satisfied,” Jack said as they climbed into her car. “Now let’s run over to that Museum.”
But the Museum of Antiquities was closed. The windows were draped, the parking lot empty. Jack noticed padlocks on the front and side doors.
“Looks like they’re shut.” Jack said.
“Apparently,” Becky said. “Maybe the Director and his staff took those royal jewels and fled to the four corners of the world.”
Later that afternoon Todd, Becky, the children and Jack drove to the Inn to meet Maggie.
Todd was quite taken by her. He admired her aristocratic cheekbones, intense eyes, styled hair and long lanky legs. “You look like Lauren Bacall,” he stammered as he, Becky Lisa and David stood in the lobby.
Julia Cassidy grinned at Todd, hugged Becky and smiled lovingly at Lisa and David. “Thank you, Todd. I’ll take that as a compliment.”
On their way to the dining room Julia turned to Jack, took his arm and lightly kissed him. ‘Well,” she grinned. “as Lauren once said, “All you have to do is whistle.”
Over the next few days, with Lisa and David back in school Todd took time off and he and Becky showed Jack and Maggie the sights. Julia enjoyed their company so much she invited them all to stay with her in Key West over the children’s Spring vacation.
Despite the shared festivities Becky felt anxious and was relieved when several days later, Dr. C. called. “Everything checked out fine,” he said cheerfully. “Your Uncle Jack’s in perfect health. Perhaps one day he could bring that medicine man of his to Boston. I know my colleagues in the profession would find him intriguing.”

Five Ways to Use Energetic Oils in Your Daily Life

Are you on team candle or on team oil? I find that many of my customers are committed to using the Coventry candles in their spiritual practice and don’t get how to use the oils, or they are masters of the magical oil and don’t feel the same connection with the candles.
We all have our preference for our magical tool kit and I want to widen your horizon just a bit more with the energetic oils.

Oils are a wonderfully portable magic. I travel with mine as well as keep them in my house, on my desk, and in my car. The Wicked Good Energetic Oils are perfect for hitting that perfect magical note or blending on the fly to get a custom charge in the moment.

I have my favorite blend-able oils to share with you in 5 ways to use them in daily magical life.

1 – Cleansing on the fly – Grandma was right when she said a peppermint candy would calm an upset tummy. A cup of peppermint tea can soothe a troubled spirit and peppermint gum is a must after a garlic meal. See the rhythm here? When things are upset or unpleasant, peppermint it the energy you need. I defuse the Peppermint Energetic Oil in the air, to keep the calm and clear the crud. Peppermint is really good for cleansing overwhelming emotions.

2 – A handshake of power – Shaking hands in a business environment can be a power play. The hand crushing, the limp noodle, the clammy, the never ending, the touch and go handshakes are ways to read the room, but you can be the quiet power that quickly seals everyone’s attention with a bit of Amber Energetic Oil. Rub a little of the oil on your hands while you fill your aura with calm, grounded, powerful energy. Next thing you know, your voice and demeanor will follow.

3 – Zen on the go – Sandalwood can just transport you away from your stressors. It’s a calming and uplifting scent that can change your day in an instant. Keep the Sandalwood Energetic Oil on your desk. All you need is a cotton ball, a few drops and few long inhales. You will be ready for that next meeting. (run that scented cotton ball on the edge of the conference table and see if everyone gets a bit zen?

4 – Make more money – Date reminds us of the sweetness of life and vibrates with the power of abundance. Put a few drops of the Date Energetic Oil on every bill you spend with the intention of 10 more coming home to roost. Hunting money on the fly!

5- Stick to your goal – Getting your paper done, sticking to your new healthy routine, staying strong in your goal are all empowered by the Juniper Energetic Oil. Juniper helps you stay true to your own resolve and clear out that self-sabotage. Put a few drops in your shoes and walk tall and strong through your day!

Now you can expand your magical tool kit and be both team candle and team oil!

Keep living that magic!

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
12 ounces white chocolate chips
Valentine’s sprinkles optional

Combine the baking chips and sweetened condensed milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on high for 1 minute. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted. Heat in increments of 10 seconds if additional heating is needed.

Stir in the cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne.

Spread the fudge mixture evenly into the bottom of an 8×8-inch pan lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until set.

Lift the parchment paper and fudge out of the pan. Slice the fudge into 1-1/2 to 2 inch pieces.
Place white chocolate in a heatproof bowl and set over a pot of barely simmering water. Stir continuously until chocolate is fully melted and smooth.

Using a fork, dip each fudge piece into the melted wafers. Tap the fork on the side of the bowl and wipe any excess off on the rim. Place the fudge bite on parchment paper.

Top with sprinkles if desired. Allow fudge bites to set for at least an hour before serving.

Long to hear from someone
You know…

That person who is lousy at keeping in touch with you
Someone who very rarely ever returns your phone calls
Never writes you a note

Sends an email your way

Here’s a Magickal way of changing that

To begin…
While you’re imagining them thinking of you
Take a piece of paper and write their name on it
Along with a picture of that person
Place those items in an envelope

Also place in the envelope with the picture and paper a birds feather and one straight pin

With this feather my message flies to thee
A pin to wake to prick a memory a stir of me
Til your thoughts return to me
I wait for you so make it be

Then seal the envelope with the items closed tightly inside of it
Place the sealed envelope by the…

Any means of communication that suits you
With Magick…
Your message will soon reach across the miles

Magical Novels and Thrillers
by Theresa Chaze

I invite you to find the magic with the pages of my Wiccan based novels.

A chance encounter opens a karmic door that awakens memories of a previous lifetime when a breaking with a clan tradition led to power struggles and murder. This time as in the last Alyssa finds herself the target of a violent obsession by a man, who again sees her as a bane to his existence. Using his badge as the shield and a weapon, he sets out to once again kill her. Will a love from the past be able to save her this time or will the violent obsession once again kill her and all she loves? Nict for Ure Selfe (Not for Ourselves) is a suspenseful tale of betrayal and murder brought about by changing times and greedy men.

Sisters, Mothers, Daughters-Tales of the Relationships Between Women uses the fantasy genre to explore the complicated and ever-changing relationships between women. Other worlds, differing religions, and political viewpoints come together as women explore themselves and their life’s path. Sometimes controversial, sometimes frightening this collection of short stories reveals the multi-dimensional spirit of the every changing woman.

And Freedom for All Politically relevant and controversial, What life would life be like once the religious right has gained power over the United States. Laws would be acted and interpreted according to their Christian doctrine, leading to a great division between the states. Pregnant by a man who sees her more as a possession than a partner, Daphne asks childhood friend, Melanie to help her to escape to a free state.

It’s My Funeral, I’ll Disco if I Want Resa has prearranged her own funeral according to her Wiccan beliefs. Caroline, her spirit guide to the Summerland and longtime friend, arrives to escort her to the other side, only find that Resa refuses to leave until after her funeral. Instead, she wants to watch as her frustrated birth family is forced to accept in death what they couldn’t accept about her in life.

Seize of HonorSeize is an otherworldly tale of how Kelly O’Dell accidentally killed the children of the natives she is attempting to communicate with them to save her people. If she can’t find a way to fix it millions will die.

These are only examples of the tales told in Sisters Mothers Daughters as women strive to understand themselves and each other. Each of these women must look to their own hearts and ask themselves–am I strong enough?

Written by a Wiccan Priestess and Ordained Minister, Out of the Shadows and Into the Light is a modern-day Book of Shadows. The rituals are not based on one tradition but are written to be inclusive. In addition, it gives a brief explanation of what Wiccans and to some extent Paganism believes. There are chapters on the basics: Building an altar Holy water Sabbaths The general topics include rituals of Protection Justice Love Prosperity Dragon Healing Within these chapters, there are rituals to invoke the Harpies, break karmic ties, and healing issues with prosperity. There are also essays on praying for peace, raising your Kundalini, working with the elementals and being more aware of what you are manifesting. Unlike many Book of Shadows, Out of the Shadow and Into the Light has information that will be valuable no matter how much experience the person has. It opens the door for you to walk through to find your best and highest self.

One Day at a Time
By Madisyn Taylor

Taking one step at a time makes life much easier to navigate rather than always looking at the big picture.
The years of our life do not arrive all at once; they greet us day by day. With the descent of each setting sun, we are able to rest our heads and let the world take care of itself for a while. We may rest assured throughout the night, knowing that the dawn will bring with it a chance to meet our lives anew, donning fresh perspectives and dream-inspired hopes. The hours that follow, before we return to sleep once more, are for us to decide how we want to live and learn, laugh and grow. Our lives are sweeter and more manageable because we must experience them this way: one day at a time.

Imagine the future stretching out before you and try to notice if you feel any tension or overwhelm at the prospect of the journey still to come. Perhaps you have recently made a lifestyle change, like beginning a new diet or quitting smoking, and the idea of continuing this healthy new behavior for years seems daunting. Maybe you have started a new job or are newly married and can feel an undercurrent of anxiety about your ability to succeed. If you can shift your focus from what may happen years down the line and return it to the day that is before you right now, you may find a measure of calm and renewed confidence in your capabilities. You may also discover an inner faith that the future will take care of itself.

The way we show up for our lives today and tomorrow has an enormous affect on who we will be and what we will be experiencing years from now. If we can remain fully engaged in the day at hand, enjoying all it has to offer and putting our energy into making the most of it, we will find that we are perfectly ready and capable to handle any future when it arrives.

About The Morning Feast and – The teachings here are based
on ordinary magick, the principle that the mundane and the Divine are not
separate, but peacefully coexist in all things. Know Mother Earth as the
ultimate healer, and learn to utilize her gifts of nature. Inside each woman
is a being of wisdom, deeply connected to the phases of the moon and the
tides of the sea. All we need to do is trust our innate wisdom.
