Llewellyn’s Spell of the Day

Knights Templar Protection
Spell Date: Saturday, January 13, 2018

It was on this day in 1128 that the Knights Templar were officially sanctioned by Pope Honorius II. The Knights Templar were a fierce military organization and were declared “God’s Army,” or “Soldiers of Christ.” This spell offers uncomplicated yet proven protection. Don’t let its simplicity fool you! If you’re going through a patch of bad luck or feel that someone’s holding something against you, this will set things right.

You’ll need a token that you usually wear. An amulet is great, but even a pendant, a ring, or your fitness tracker will work. Bend down on one knee, focus on your deity, and while holding your chosen item in your non-dominant hand, repeat this chant:

“Lord, in all your glory,
protect me with your grace.”

Repeat the chant until you feel your deity’s peace descending upon you, and let your charmed item recall this protection whenever it needs a boost.

Bye-Bye Bills
Spell Date: Friday, January 12, 2018

Did you make a New Year’s resolution to get out of debt this year? Move it along with some magical help to make your bills disappear. You will need a copy of your bills (don’t use the originals) or a list of whom you owe and how much, a lighter, and a fire-safe container. After dark, take your supplies outside. Begin by tearing the copies or your list into thin strips. As you do so, chant:

“I shred these bills down in size.”

Add all of the strips to the fire-safe container. Light the pile of strips on fire. While it burns, chant:

“I burn these bills down to nothing.”

When the fire has gone out, toss the
ash into the air and say:

“Wind, take what is left behind.
Bye-bye, bills, so mote it be.”

GG’s Toddy
Spell Date: Thursday, January 11, 2018

Beautiful as the winter season can be, it’s also prime time for cold and flu viruses to attack. Fortunately, we magic people can fight back! One of my favorite healing weapons is my grandmother’s healing toddy.

To make the toddy, squeeze the juice of one-half lemon into a warmed mug. Add a tablespoon of honey and a half teaspoon of grated raw ginger. My GG added a jigger ( probably overflowing) of whiskey or brandy; you can leave this out if you prefer. Fill the mug with near-boiling water and stir well, stirring sunwise (deosil). As you stir, repeat:

“Lemons full of vitamin C,
Heat of ginger, honeybees,
Whiskey, soulful, rich, and warm,
Keep my body safe from harm.”

Sip the toddy while it’s as hot as possible, breathing the steam as you do. Envision its healing qualities imbuing your body with protective vigor.

Healing Spell for Mother Earth
Spell Date: Wednesday, January 10, 2018

Gather some clean, dry garden soil and place it in a large bowl. Add some coffee grounds and chopped-up leaf matter, and mix well. Fill a small pitcher or spouted measuring cup with a cup or so of water. Draw a “river path” through the dirt with your finger. Inscribe a green candle and a blue one with symbols or runes of healing. After you light them, pour the water into the river and say:

“Her blood is the water, and it’s
healing-blue. The earth is her body
and it’s healing-green. May the Mother
be healed of all that’s unclean.”

Continue chanting, mixing the water into the soil until lightly damp. Let the power peak, sending the energy into the damp soil. Afterward, sprinkle the charged soil wherever you feel the earth needs healing.

An Onion Spell to Peel Away Pain
Spell Date: Tuesday, January 9, 2018

Pain is multi-layered. Peel it away with this magical working. You’ll need a pen, an onion—and maybe some tissues.

Write your fear, issue, or problem on the onion. Don’t try to analyze it, just write the first words that come to mind. Visualize it, then peel away the words and the first layer of skin. Now search your heart and see what rises to the surface. Write that on the exposed skin, visualize it, and peel it off. Continue exposing layers and writing down the revelations that come with each pass, then peel them away. Speak each revelation as you write it. Peeling the onion may make you cry, but this isn’t a bad thing; tears are cleansing.

When only the onion’s core is left, bury it and all of the layers, letting the earth purify the energy at the heart of your dilemma.

Inducing Prophetic Dreams
Spell Date: Monday, January 8, 2018

The winter months are generally a time for introspective work. Utilize those energies and the lunar energies associated with Mondays and work on channeling prophetic dreams.

You will want to create a sachet that will aid you in your workings and place it under your pillow. A common herb that can be used is bay leaf. You can also add peppermint, mugwort, yarrow, holly, or cedar. Once you have combined the herbs into the bag, place it under your pillow. When you awaken from your slumber, you can write down any of the details of your dreams to interpret throughout the day.

Heartwings Love Notes 810: Intentions versus Resolutions

Heartwings says, “What we resolve to do may not get done without a deliberate intention.”

The flu season makes it incumbent on us all to remember to wash our hands each time we come home from being out in public, especially when we’ve been touching things others have. The handles of grocery carts comes to mind as well as restroom door knobs and even counters or tabletops. The other day in a restaurant a woman near us was coughing hard into her hand as well as the air around her. Washing hands is more effective than sanitizers and better to do.

Last week I picked up a germ that invaded my sinuses and worse, my right eye, causing me great pain and rendering me unable to read for any length of time. Since I spend much time on my computer this was difficult to say the least. As a result I have made a strong resolution to be sure to wash my hands very carefully not only when using the restroom anywhere but most especially immediately upon arriving home. I hope to avoid not only the flu, but also any other germs. I also take a homeopathic remedy as a preventative.

Resolutions are better kept when we have a reminder to do so, and a deliberate intention is well bolstered by any negative experience that happens when we haven’t. Hand washing is now an imperative for me, and while I regret the suffering and pain of my illness, I am grateful for the positive reinforcement of my intentions. Powerful reminders are not always pleasant, however they certainly are useful. Making lists helps too. Without a list, my intentions, let alone whatever I have resolved to do may be forgotten.

Getting older has its good and its bad aspects. Becoming wiser, for instance by virtue of experience is helpful. Becoming more mindful as a result of that experience makes a big difference. On the other hand, becoming forgetful is a nuisance. However, lists do help considerably. The trick is to remember to write things down and then also to look at the list. When I was a young parent, in order to stay on top of things I had to outwit my children. Now instead in order to stay awake and aware, I have to outwit myself.

Stephen Halpert
The Magic Wand, Part 2

Lisa shook the snow off her boots and breezed in through the kitchen door. “I’m back from Boston,” she called. Getting no answer, she hung up her coat and went into the living room. All the presents, including hers were still under the tree. Seeing her gift from Uncle Jack, she opened the package and drew out a soft, beautifully multi colored cape. The tag said it had been made by a woman’s arts collective in Kenya.
Then she spotted a long narrow box wrapped in animal hide. She picked it up and read the card. It said, “To David from Uncle Jack, handle with care.” She shook it. It rattled slightly. Curiosity got the better of her and she unwrapped the hide and opened the box. The polished wooden wand with a silver tip found its way into her hand.
“Wow,” she said waving it dramatically. “Uncle Jack always gives David the coolest presents.”
She blinked. A black crow appeared, flew across the room, and perched atop the mahogany bookcase beside Todd’s leather bound Collected Works of Poe.
Lisa’s eyes flew open. “Where did you come from?” she cried
The crow cawed at her. Then it flew up, perched on the drapery rod and cawed even louder.
Lisa shook her head. She had never seen a crow in her parent’s living room. That in itself was startling. But this bird acted like it had all the right in the world to be there.
The kitchen door banged. Hastily Lisa put the wand back under the tree.
David came into the room. “Hi Lisa.” said. He looked up and saw the bird. “Did Grandma give you that crow for Christmas?”
Becky followed David into the living room. She hugged her daughter. “What a beautiful cape. Was that from Uncle Jack?” Then she too noticed the crow. “How’d that bird get in here?”
“Err,” Lisa said. “It just appeared out of nowhere.”
Lisa’s mother looked at her, then at the unwrapped wand under the tree. “Really?”
“Well, sort of. I was just looking at David’s present and um, the bird appeared.”
“You touched my present from Uncle Jack?” David’s voice dripped indignation.”
“I’m sorry.” Her voice quavered. “I promise I never will again.”
“Well you see dear Uncle Jack gave this gift to David and as you can see, well, it’s magical.”
Lisa nodded. “Oh. Can you somehow make the crow go away?”
“Would that I could,” Becky replied. “The wand doesn’t seem to take things away, just bring them forth.”
David clapped gleefully,” maybe we can keep it like the mice, and then if it wants to it can fly away in the spring. Tell her about the mice, Mom,” David giggled.”
“Mice,” Lisa’s cheeks reddened. “What mice? I hate mice!”
Becky sighed. “Two adorable little white mice. Now they’re living in a shoebox at the back of the garage. David seems fond of them.” She frowned and looked up at the bird. “But a big black crow, that’s a little different.”
“Well I hope none of my friends find out about it, or my social life will be ruined: kids at school will call me Crow Girl or even worse.”
“Who’s Crow Girl,” David asked.
Todd’s car pulled into the driveway.
Daddy’s home,” David shouted.
Lisa had a weird feeling that the crow was watching her. It made her uncomfortable.
Todd came in, hugged David, kissed Becky and Lisa, and asked after grandma. He was about to mix himself a gin and tonic when he saw the crow peering at him from the top shelf of the bookcase.
“Maybe I don’t need a drink. Maybe I’m intoxicated sufficient.” He looked at Becky hopeful that she’d find a solution as she always did.
Becky sighed. “Lisa saw David’s wand, waved it and the crow decided to join us for New Year’s.”
“Of course,” Todd said. He shook his head and shrugged. “Things like that happen every day.”
“We’ve got a turkey in the back yard,” David told his sister. “It snowed too hard so we couldn’t go out for Christmas dinner, and daddy asked for all the fixing’s but none of us wanted to kill it.”
Todd sat down heavily in the nearest chair. “This is all your Uncle Jack’s doing.” His voice rose until he was almost shouting.
“Laying the blame does no good,” Becky said softly. “Besides I’m sure Jack spent quite a bit on this antiquarian wonder.”
“Then sell it,” Todd’s voice rose further.
“No,” David said. “It’s my present.” He picked it up and clutched it to his chest. “Besides, I love my little mice.”
Lisa glared at him. “Don’t ever bring them upstairs anywhere near my room.”
Becky played the distraction card. “Let’s all go out for pizza before we’re snowed in for another three days,” she said.
David grinned. “Why not just wave the wand and ask for one,” he said.
Becky nodded. “That sounds reasonable.” She rubbed David’s blond hair and looked at Todd. “How about you?”
“Sure,” he said. “First,” he began “I’d like a pizza with extra cheese for me, and maybe some anchovies.”
“I want a plain cheese one,” Lisa said.
“Me too,” said David.
Becky picked up the wand. “Mushrooms and broccoli for me please,” she said. “And let’s have the anchovies on the side.” She waved the wand. “More fun than going to the pizzeria in this cold.”
Within seconds what appeared was a pizza crust the size of their coffee table. Live anchovies bounced about in pasta sauce.
The crow swooped onto the pizza and started pecking at the anchovies, Tomato sauce splattered in all directions.
“Put that wand away,” Todd snapped. “Enough of this. I don’t care how cold it is we’re all going to go out to dinner.” He reached for his coat and began to put it on. Everyone followed suit.
“Do we really have a live turkey outside in the back yard?” Lisa asked.
“Oh yes,” David said. “Want to cut off its head so mom can cook it. Daddy didn’t want to.”
“It isn’t quite that simple,” Becky said.
“We’ll not talk about any of this, Todd insisted. “As far as I’ concerned none of this ever happened. It’s just a bad dream and perhaps tomorrow we’ll all wake up and go back to living normal lives.”
David looked up at his father. “What’s a normal life, Daddy?”

Lunar Tinctures
by EarthBone Forest

Making your tinctures following the phases of the moon allows the powerful gravitational pull of the moon to draw out the properties in the plant and also adds a bit of ancient wisdom to your mixture. Just as the gravitational pull of the moon affects many things in nature and our lives, it’s thought that this very same phenomenon affects the strength of our tinctures. Although there is no scientific proof that the moon gives our tinctures a little something extra, herbal traditionalists have long believed in the power of the moon in regards to making plant medicine.

Herbalists of old knew how to plant, harvest, and preserve food and herbs, among other things, following the phases of the moon. For instance, seeds for above ground plants were planted with the new moon, as the lunar gravity pulls water up from the ground creating perfect conditions for a seed to sprout. As the moon grows the pull lessens; however, the moonlight is strong, which creates wonderful leaf growth. When the moon wanes after the full phase, the light decreases, putting more energy into roots, and that is when root crops were planted (Gardening by the moon, n.d.).

How To Make Lunar Tinctures

Lunar Tinctures 101 | Growing Up Herbal | There are many different ways to make tinctures, and one of those ways is to make what’s called a lunar tincture. Learn today how to make your own!

Traditionally, lunar tinctures are started on the New Moon or Dark Moon phase. This marks a time of new beginnings and is the perfect time to start your herbal brew. Beginning at the New Moon phase allows your tincture to infuse as the moon grows into a full moon.

Once your lunar tincture has finished macerating (or sitting for 2-6 weeks), it’s time to decant it.

It’s best to decant and bottle the tincture at the Full Moon phase, which is about 2 weeks from the New Moon. If you want to infuse your tincture longer, just bottle it on the next Full Moon, giving your tincture a 6 week maceration time. The New Moon and the Full Moon both have a 3-day cycle and you can infuse and bottle during those three days, which are the day before, the day of, and the day after each phase.

Making lunar tinctures is a fun way to attune with the natural cycles around us and honor the old traditions!

A Lunar Dream Tincture Recipe to Try

Here is one of my favorite lunar tinctures to make following the phases of the moon.

Simply take this wonderfully calming tincture before bed to encourage a restful sleep and peaceful, but vivid, dreams. Feel free to make this tincture with freshly wilted or dried herbs—preferably organic.

Dream Tincture

¼ cup mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris)
¼ cup lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
¼ c. rose petals (Rosa damascena)
¼ c. chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)
¼ c. lemon balm (Melissa officinalis)
100 proof alcohol such as vodka (use glycerin for an alcohol-free version)

Place the herbs in a quart Mason jar and cover completely with the alcohol. Place in a cool, dry area and allow to infuse.
Allow this to sit for 2-6 weeks, or until the full moon of your choosing, before straining your herbs from your liquid. Compost the herbs. Bottle the liquid in a clean glass jar. Label well, and store.

To Use:

Place 30 to 40 drops in a cup of your favorite nighttime brew, glass of water, or juice. Sleep well!

Charm for Victory [Spell Saturday #20]
July 30, 2016

Sometimes you just need to win. Whether you’re at a sporting event or a court case or it’s just trivia night at the local bar or a big exam is coming up, victory is sometimes necessary. This will help.

You’ll need:

Bay laurel
Oak leaves
Cinquefoil (Five Finger Grass)
Sturdy Green or gold bag

Collect your herbal ingredients and grind them into a powder. As you grind them, put a lot of energy and effort into it, more so then usual. Work up a sweat. When you’re happy with it, place all of the ingredients inside a sturdy green or gold bag. Carry with you when you need victory.

The easiest material to make the bag out of it felt. Leather, wool, canvas, or dense cotton also works.

Happy casting!

Crystal Therapy: Investing In Change

Change is inevitable. Our lives are made up of the building blocks of
change. Change creates the person we must grow to be. Change happens
for a reason. That reason is to allow us possibilities we may not
have seen in the first place. This can be traumatic or it can be less

The single most important point you can make about change is that in
most cases it’s not what faces you that’s the problem, it’s how you
react to it.

How you react is determined by how you perceive a particular change.
The Chinese word for crisis is “weiji”. Two characters that
separately mean danger and opportunity. Every problem we encounter in
life can be viewed that way. It is a chance to show that we can
handle it. Changing the way you think, can change a life of stress
and discomfort to a life of challenge and excitement.

Change shows itself in many forms. The move to a different career, by
choice or not, the loss of a loved one, the loss of a relationship,
the move to a new home or simply the change in the weather and how we
feel. It is important to embrace the transition!. Struggling, kicking
and screaming and dragging your heals will only prolong trying to
control the uncontrollable. Learn to recognize strengths you may have
overlooked. Embrace optimism and reform your old belief system.

-Bloodstone brings the ability to adapt to change more easily.

-Cerussite is grounding and shows us how to understand change as it
happens around us.

-Chrysanthemum Stone bring equilibrium to changing situations

-Chrysocolla allows us to accept change with calmnes s and serenity It
makes for smooth transitions.

-Larimar gives us the ability to “go with the flow”. It is a heart
soothing stone that brings awareness to change.

-Malachite is a great stone to have, which encourage change to occur.

-Mookaite (Jasper) helps to emphasize the flexibility with change and
encourages new experiences.

-Moonstone makes one conscious of the fact that all things are part
of a cycle of constant change.

-Rose Quartz assists in the acceptance of change that is necessary.

Treatments for Change

Carry 4 of the above stones with you in a pouch, pocket or purse.

A “Change” gem essence can be created with rose quartz, malachite and
chrysocolla. Mist over the entire aura. Take 8-10 drops under the
tongue every 4 hours.

Laying of Stones: Place Rose Quartz at the Heart Chakra. Use
Malachite and Bloodstone at the Heart Chakra. Lay a piece of
Chrysocolla at the Throat Chakra. Chrysanthemum Stone and Cerussite
can be placed at the Root Chakra, at both hip bon es or between the

Emphasis on the Heart Chakra. This chakra helps us to embrace a
changing world. It allows us to love and accept change as it passes

Most cultures use storytelling to pass down family history using the power and energy of the human voice.

Ever since our ancestors could first communicate, we have gathered to share our stories. We have passed along creation tales and tragic stories of love lost. We have repeated accounts of real heroism and simple stories of family history. When our forebears lived closer to the land and to each other, the practice of storytelling was imbued with ritual and occasion. Members of the tribe would often gather around the fire to hear their genealogy recited aloud by an elder or master storyteller. Listeners could track how their own lives, and the lives of their parents, interwove with the lives of the other tribe members, as everyone’s ancient relatives once played out similar life dramas together.

As a custom, some cultures’ storytellers repeat the same tale over and over because they believe that each time you hear it, you come to the story as a different person and view the plot and characters in a new light. Hearing the story over and over is a way to gauge where you have been and where you are now on your path of personal evolution. It also helps the younger generation learn the stories so that they can pass them to forthcoming generations.

When we hear others tell stories, we can laugh at their humorous adventures, feel the thrill of exciting encounters, see parts of ourselves in them, and learn from the challenges they face. Though most of our formal traditions of storytelling are lost, it does not mean we have to be without. We can begin new practices in our own families of listening to one another, of honoring our own journey, and witnessing the journeys of those around us. We can revive the fireside communal by gathering around the campfire or hearth with family and friends, sharing in stories. By building new practices of storytelling, we give ourselves and the ones we love an opportunity to draw ever closer in our shared human experience.

Compulsive Apologies
By Madisyn Taylor

Apologizing chronically can be a sign that you are not feeling that you have much self worth.

Many people suffer with the tendency to apologize all the time, chronically, for everything. On the one hand, apologizing is a social convention that keeps interactions between people polite, and in that way it can be very helpful. On the other hand, if we find ourselves apologizing for everything, it might be time to look at why we feel compelled to say “I’m sorry” so often. Ultimately, saying you’re sorry is saying that you are responsible for something that has gone wrong in the situation. Whether it’s negotiating a parking spot, moving through the aisles of the supermarket, or reaching for what you want, there are times when sorry is the right thing to say. But there are other times when “excuse me” is more accurate.

Sometimes saying you’re sorry is like saying that the other person in the equation has more of a right to be here than you do. Of course, it’s true that using the word sorry can simply be an innocuous way of defusing tension. However, if you find that you say sorry all the time, you might want to look a little deeper and see where in your psyche that might be coming from. If it’s a pattern, breaking it may simply take some awareness and practice.

The first step is observing yourself each time you say it, without being hard on yourself about it. Throughout your day simply notice when you apologize. At first, you might be surprised to see that you do it even more than you first realized. After a day or two of simply observing, try to tune in to what it is you are feeling right before you say it. You might be feeling threatened, embarrassed, intensely anxious, or a variety of other feelings. Over time, try to stop yourself before the words come out and just be with the feeling that’s there. You may recognize it as one from your childhood, one that’s been with you for a long time. The more you are able to see it, the freer you will be not to be sorry all the time.

Personal theme: I am!!
Fire & cardinal sign: March 21 — April 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Suddenly you`re facing a combination of situations. In some, decisions are up to you but, in contract, in several, you`ve little choice or must relinquish their reins to others. What`s most challenging is that with things moving swiftly, there`s little time for discussion. The solution? Do your best. The good news is, that in most of these situations, you`ll be able to rethink plans when things are calmer..

You`re about to take a step closer to increasing a dream. Keep your eyes on the prize as this is what motivates you. Visualise the eventual reward and keep up the momentum for if you stop now you may never get it finished. Someone has the ability to make you laugh no matter how low you`re feeling. They will add sparkle to your days so arrange to spend some time in the evenings just being together.

You may already be well aware of responsibility headed your way. True, this may not be something you either wish to think about or discuss. Yet it`s likely apparent that between now and the end of 2020, demands on your time will be considerable. As early as Wednesday`s New Moon you should be aware of the list of tasks to be tackled. True, it may be possible to delegate some. And yes, it`s perhaps also true that if you`re prone to flying off the handle, that you could lose your temper if others don`t react with sufficient speed to your request. Before the weekend however someone (most likely) born under either Taurus or Scorpio will be ready to let their star shine and has the exact level of expertise required to make things happen. Whilst nothing is ever perfect, it may be that this is a working partnership set to go far in 2018.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I have!!
Earth & fixed sign: April 20 — May 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Having invested a lot of time, thought and, in some cases, heart in certain ideas or ventures, you`ve no intention of reorganising anything. Yet you`ll soon discover this isn`t just necessary, it`s wise. The trick is to regard what you`ve already done as research. Once you`re viewing it from that angle, then you`ll have no problem exploring different and, perhaps, better ways of getting things done.

Try a different approach if conventional solutions to problems aren`t working. Don`t be shy about asking an imaginative friend for help. Their suggestions may sound weird at first, but give them a try anyway and the results could surprise you. People will pull together to complete jobs on time so make the most of this team spirit. A joint effort will be more productive than anyone expected and as a result, an extra bonus could soon be coming your way.

For many people this week is all about connections. Those of your sign are likely to benefit: particularly from those made with people from other countries. Actually, it doesn`t need to be a person that you make the connection with. It could be an item that`s produced abroad. Whatever, by Wednesday`s New Moon, it should be clear that time invested in learning more about this person or item will be time well spent. On Thursday, Venus arrives at the apex of your solar chart bringing with it an opportunity to partner with someone working in similar fields to your own. This person may be born under your opposite sign of Scorpio, and have connections that would be of benefit to you too. Though effort will surely be required, – and perhaps you will balk at the amount of travel or meetings that would be necessary, – you could, as early as the weekend, feel you`ve made a useful link.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I think!!
Air sign: May 21 — June 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Only days ago, you were complaining about requirements that involved extensive research or that you provide unnecessary information. Yet between the current swift pace and the numerous unexpected twists and turns you`re encountering, you`ll be relieved you have all those facts to hand. Better yet, since then you`ve discovered new things to do and ways to turn those ideas into arrangements as worthwhile as they`d be exciting.

Sharing your thoughts with enthusiastic people will boost your prestige. Take this opportunity to organise a recreational project. Your versatility will come in useful in a community event and your ability to think on your feet will please people in power. You sensed your luck was about to change and exciting news will confirm you`re even luckier than you thought. An unexpected opportunity will be both challenging and rewarding. Have faith in your ability to succeed.

It`s probable you already have a sense that things are building up to a head. They`ll likely reach that by the lunar eclipse on the last day of January. For now, all focus might need to be given to keeping the wheels on the track. As a result, your workload may be considerable. It`s likely though that you have considerable support, – and possibly from someone whose first language is not your own. It`s equally likely that they see in your qualities which for a long time have not been given sufficient recognition. Through their connections, you could be introduced to someone of similar professional standing who is already a member of an organisation that would benefit you too. As of Thursday, Venus moves into another of the Air signs. From then, and through to February 10 would be an excellent time to explore a network or make subscription to an association providing exactly the kind of support and advice you now need.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I feel!!
Water & cardinal sign: June 21 — July 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Although the Cancer Full Moon was in early January, you`re still mulling over the personal insights you gained and, equally, unsettling but timely changes in circumstances. Back then, some of what arose seemed overwhelming. But as things have progressed, you`ve not only embraced those new ideas, you`re still discovering ways to make them part of existing arrangements and, equally, add something new and rewarding to your life.

It`s tempting to maintain the status quo because this makes you feel comfortable. This is also the reason why you won`t support plans to change your routine. Things can`t stay the same forever and people are getting restless. You may have to go along with their suggestions to break out of this rut. Inner peace can be cultivated when you have a supportive social network so do your best to make sure harmony prevails. A small sacrifice will pay off in the end.

This week`s New Moon is in your opposite sign and for many Cancerians it should feel as though this is the real start to 2018. Coming within hours of a crucial aspect between Jupiter (moving through one of the more creative zones of your solar chart) and Pluto in the sign of partnership, it`s always possible that an offer is headed your way. Of course, you don`t need to accept. It`s perhaps the case that you are now in the limelight. It seems others want to do business with you. From taking part in a survey, to agreeing to be part of a research plan or, at another level, showing others how best to work with limited resources, all eyes could be on you by the weekend. Delightful as this may be, there might also be important discussions to have with a very close colleague or partner who is coming to the conclusion that they need a change of direction in 2018. It`s just possible that they want to give notice by the end of January and that though their risk assessment is good that you will feel a little daunted by the prospect of these developments.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I will!!
Fire & fixed sign: July 23 — August 22

Your horoscope for this week:

Nobody would blame you for battling changes as sudden as they are unpleasant. The disruption you`re facing is one thing, but the fact others are unsympathetic about the problems you`re having only makes it worse. Tempting as it is to go to battle over those changes but, even more, this lack of support, ask others why they`re so enthusiastic. What you learn will make a huge difference.

Getting involved in a volunteer project will give you the `feel good` factor. You care passionately about a good cause, which is very sexy. Just don`t let this make you argumentative and be sure to temper harsh remarks with diplomacy. Pouring energy into outside interests could cause your best friend or partner to feel neglected. Ignoring the needs of someone you love can have unfortunate consequences. One solution would be to treat your amour like royalty.

You might now need reassurance or the considered expertise of someone in whom you have great trust. Arranging that meeting could take a few days however. Whilst awaiting that, you could – especially in the days leading into Wednesday`s New Moon – take an inventory. This is more than just about actual assets but also about your energy levels, your state of health and your willingness to break new ground. It`s very likely that an opportunity is about to open up. Though you may sense that this is something you can`t embrace for some weeks yet, it`s perhaps the case that you have to close one door completely before opening another. In being clear as to what it is that you want to happen and engaging with that mentor or adviser, the weekend you should have a more solid idea as to where you`re going and the most appropriate timeframe to work toward.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I analyse!!
Earth sign: August 23 — September 22

Your horoscope for this week:

When you`re able to think through a plan in detail, it`s not only satisfying, you regard it as a personal accomplishment. However, recent difficulties have required compromises as time consuming as they were irritating. The irony is, what you learnt in the process has made it far easier to deal swiftly with ideas as new, and surprising, as they could prove to be worthwhile.

You can`t please all the people all of the time. Connecting with your own needs and desires should be your first priority. It`s important to listen to your inner voice and don`t feel guilty about putting your wants and wishes first and foremost. Your imagination is firing on all cylinders so try to devote a little time each day to creative projects. Cook a special dish, paint a drab room a different colour or enter a photography contest.

Mid-week brings one of the more promising New Moons of your year. Assuming you are organised (and that`s likely), and that your efficiency streak is in good working order (and that`s likely too), then as of Wednesday you should be ready to break out into pastures new. The impact of words spoken (someone with international connections) could be considerable. It may be that they recognise that your star could burn even more brightly and that what you really need is to extend your network – and with their help. All this is possible. Behind-the-scenes, others may also be ready to move on leaving a gap for you to fill. Focusing on your undoubted yet arguably hidden talents and showing off your particular unique creative abilities would surely be a wise investment of your time.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I balance!!
Air & cardinal sign: September 23 — October 22

Your horoscope for this week:

As a Libra, you`ve a talent for making things happen, yet giving everybody else the impression their contribution was important, if not essential. Now, however, somebody seems to have taken this flattery too seriously, and is reorganising plans without even discussing it with you. Deal with this swiftly and frankly. Their intentions may be good, but what they do or say could be seriously troublesome.

You wonder what your chances are of achieving a financial goal. On a scale of one to ten, it`s about eight. It will be a relief to know you can cover expenses and still have money left for a glamorous trip or luxuries. This is a great time to splash out on some new clothes. You`re very intuitive about family matters so if you sense a relative wants to make up an argument, extend an olive branch.

Wednesday`s new Moon could feel like the real start of 2018. Certainly, by then you should have a clear idea as to a project that you want to complete – preferably before your birthday. You know better than most where obligations already lie. It could be that family commitments will limit time available. Yet with Venus moving into another of the Air signs on Thursday, and, until February 10th moving through the creative zone of your solar chart, you should soon feel to have foundations firmly laid. All that said, you could be unsettled by the whirlwind activity around either a Sagittarius or Pisces who plainly wants you to be involved in an adventure. This should leave you with much to think about over the weekend.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Scorpio & Ophiuchus
Personal theme: I desire!!
Water & fixed signs: October 23 — November 21

Your horoscope for this week:

While there`s no doubt the ideas and offers coming your way are thrilling, you can`t help but wonder if they could be organised in a manner that`s less disruptive. Equally, you`d rather slow the pace, so you can think things through. In every case, this not only isn`t possible, it`s unwise. You`re in a cycle of dynamic and rapid growth. The sooner you accept that, the better.

Why struggle alone when there is help available should you need it? Someone would like to show you a better way of doing things. The more flexible you are, the faster you get results. Take any opportunity to venture into unfamiliar territory. Your chances of meeting someone who will help you promote your skills are strong. Take extra care with your appearance later in the week as you`re likely to find yourself in the public eye.

It seems that your star really is rising. As you know, Jupiter is travelling through your sign. Theoretically this should be a special year for you. By the end of what could be a tumultuous week, it should be clear exactly who you can work with and where your sparkle and energy will be best recognised. Of course, nothing is entirely smooth sailing, and you might need – especially after Wednesday`s New Moon, – to make it clear that your support is not unconditional. You may need to stand firm as to what you feel is acceptable and what is not. A moral compass (not necessarily yours) may be tested. Venus` arrival at the base of your solar chart also suggests attention will need to be given to assets and insurance.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I see!!
Fire sign: November 22 — December 21

Your horoscope for this week:

As an independent-minded fire sign, you prefer to make your own decisions. But with your ruler Jupiter and the dynamic Mars both in the most strategic portion of your chart, you`re in a period during which you`ve no choice but to leave these, and similar, matters to others. While you may disagree with the decisions being made, you`ll swiftly realise how worthwhile they are.

You or someone close will have good news about money. This may also mean you will be taking on new commitments. Hard work will satisfy your need to be active as well as boosting your income. Hosting a family gathering could be on the cards. Relatives will be counting on you to find suitable accommodation. Entertaining will bring out the best in you and spending time with family and friends will be great fun.

Priorities may now be very different to what they were even just a few months ago. Saturn has now moved into neighbouring Capricorn and your will is likely to be tested. That could actually be literal. It may be that you give thought to a legacy or estate planning. It could be argued that the period around Wednesday`s New Moon would be perfect for this. Whatever, you are likely to be thinking very deeply about the future.. Your imagination might also be in overdrive: but in a good way. True, yours is not a sign known for enjoying the process of due diligence. Yet, like a master chess player, you might actually enjoy an intellectual challenge before the weekend. Note that by then, giving thought to short journeys and contact with those working in the field of education is probable. You have much to offer and the before the end of the month, your expertise will likely be sought. This week could prove a good time for reviewing archived papers.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I use!!
Earth & cardinal sign: December 22 — January 19

Your horoscope for this week:

Usually, planning ahead is both wise and a virtue. However, certain longstanding arrangements are already beginning to shift. Note these, but bear in mind that it`s unlikely your perspective or views will be clear until after Wednesday`s powerful Capricorn New Moon. Knowing that, explore your options and, where necessary, talk over plans with those who`d be involved. Then, once everything is clear, finalise your plans.

You`ve been going along with a situation that isn`t making you happy. Suddenly you will be given the freedom to do what you want. Any changes you make now will be to your future advantage. A prominent executive will recognise your talent and will reward you for it. At last you`re getting the recognition you deserve. Someone with your practical skills should not be relegated to the background so get used to being in the spotlight.

Wednesday`s New Moon could leave you feeling as though the year has truly begun. It`s probable you`ll have much to think about – not least of which the number of people now reliant on you. Of course, you don`t have to accept responsibility for everything: yet it is probable that many people feel you have the right expertise and approach to guide them. A major issue could be new technology. Whilst explaining systems, you might also know that what you really need is to focus on networking. Initially, the focus may be on how you can best work together, once Venus moves into neighbouring Aquarius on Thursday. Thoughts then must surely turn to financial exchange and how you are to be rewarded for your assistance. It may be that before the end of the month you have to make a decision as to who you can or should work with.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I know!!
Air & fixed sign: January 20 — February 18

Your horoscope for this week:

This won`t be the easiest week of the year, at least as you`re living out its days. Yet when you look back on the challenges you faced, you`ll realise that each forced you to face and deal with matters you`d been hoping you could ignore. Bizarrely, as you face each, you`ll become more intrigued by the next until, within a short time, you`ll be tackling them enthusiastically.

You crave peace and cooperation within the family. Make a start early in the week on keeping things harmonious. It might seem as if you`re the one who has to make most effort to please everyone, but the sacrifice will be worth it. A secret will come out into the open and this will fill you with relief. Someone will admit to having made a mistake and will ask for your forgiveness.

By Thursday, both the Moon and Venus will have moved into your sign. Coming soon after a New Moon when many will feel the urge to make a fresh start, it could be that all eyes are on you to lead the way. You could indeed be at your sparkling best. Those of your sign often have a unique perspective to offer. What may be obvious, especially in the first half of the week, is that others are being held back by convention. Though you too have great respect for history and the way in which things have always been done, you perhaps see that there are new dynamics at work and that a different approach would benefit all. True, you could find yourself at odds with someone who is so committed to doing things as they`ve always been, that they cannot embrace the future. Bringing humour to a discussion would surely make all the difference before the weekend. You are probably right in concluding that it`s now time to heal an old wound and to focus on what unites rather than what separates.

———— ———– ———- ——— ——– ——- —— —– —- — — –

Personal theme: I believe!!
Water sign: February 19 — March 20

Your horoscope for this week:

Even the most logical of Pisceans has a tender heart, and can be distracted by the problems or struggles of others. At the moment, however, you`re urged to be wary of this, since what seem straightforward problems could be more about the individual in question seeking somebody who`ll shoulder their burden or their difficulties. While this won`t always be the case, you`re sure to encounter it.

Whenever your confidence starts to falter, a friend will be there for you. This relationship will help bolster your ego and through their support you will find the strength to stand up for yourself. A change of pace in the home or workplace will take some getting used to. It may be hard to get your head around all that`s happening but by the end of the week it will start to make more sense to you.

It`s often said that it`s not what you know but who you know that makes the difference. Connections are always important but perhaps never more so than around Wednesday`s New Moon. You could by then be in touch with a powerbase that would propel you forward. Though in some ways this might seem less than perfect, hold the thought that the whole world is getting used to a new dynamic now that Saturn has joined Pluto in Capricorn and that it will take some time to adjust. By next Monday, you could be repositioned. In fact, by then you may have proved indispensable to someone who is as in awe of your network as you are theirs. This embryonic working partnership could yet go far. As an aside, but perhaps as important, news from someone who`s been traveling, could impact arrangements for later in the year – prompting you to feel more optimistic about a planned event then you have been.
