Llewellyn’s Spell A Day

Create a chakra stone by painting a column of color on your stone from root to crown ( bottom to top). You will need a set of paints and brushes.
Go for a walk and find a stone that feels good when held in your hands.
With your paints set up and your stone before you, ground and center. When you feel calm, visualize your root, say I have, and paint a red dot near the bottom of your stone.
Visualize your groin, say I feel, and paint an orange dot above the red one.
Visualize your solar plexus, say I will, and paint a yellow dot above the other two, forming a vertical column of dots.
Visualize your heart, say I love, and paint a green dot.
Visualize your throat, say I speak, and paint a blue dot.
Visualize your third eye, say I see, and paint an indigo dot.
Visualize your crown, say I know, and paint a violet dot.
Breathe calm, balanced energy into the stone.
Hold the stone whenever you need help balancing or when you feel disconnected.

Block-Removal Threshold Wash
Spell Date: Saturday, December 16, 2017
Today, the moon, which has almost completed its cycle, resides in Sagittarius along with the sun, making it an excellent day for all forms of block removal. Harness the potency of the energy today by preparing ritual oils, incense, ointments, and herb blends for later use, and set time aside for meditation specific to this work.
In a saucepan, combine two cups water, the fresh peel of one lemon and one orange, and a handful of clove. Bring to a slight boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for nine minutes. As the mixture simmers, hold your hands over the pot and chant:
“Ain’t nothing gonna stand in my way,
Ain’t nothing gonna keep me down!
Ain’t no worries gonna steal my light,
Ain’t no sorrow gonna make me cry!”
When finished, let the mixture cool to room temperature. Strain the mixture and use the brew to wash the threshold of your front door.

Lemon Cupcake Day
Spell Date: Friday, December 15, 2017
Today is Lemon Cupcake Day. What’s so special about lemon cupcakes?
As an herb, lemon has many uses. It is antibacterial and antifungal. It contains a lot of vitamin C, which explains its use in cold remedies. It also soothes throat irritation and supports the voice. In aromatherapy, lemon is cleansing and uplifting. It helps you wake up in the morning or cheer up if you feel down.
Cupcakes are lovely little treats. They’re miniature cakes. You can indulge in a bit of sweetness without going overboard. They’re cheap to buy and easy to find. If you bake your own, you can have a healthy dessert as well as a scrumptious one. Choose just the lemon cake for a mild effect. If you really want an herbal kick, fill the cake with lemon curd or soak it in lemon syrup or rosewater lemonade. Try your hand at kitchen witchery!

The Gift of Giving
Spell Date: Thursday, December 14, 2017
Every year a few weeks before Christmas, it was tradition for my grandmother to create magick. She would set up a folding table in the spare room and wrap gifts. How special to watch as the tower of gifts grew! Much love and affection went into the decorative and clever wrapping she fashioned.
Should you wish to start such a tradition, or if this is currently a part of your holiday preparations, be sure to cleanse your workspace properly before you begin. Wash or wipe down the table or counter with a saltwater mixture. Smudge the room, the gifts, and the wrappings with sage. Play holiday music and perhaps allow yourself a glass of your favorite winter libation.
Although this may not seem like a traditional spell, when you are done, relax and close with cakes and ale.

Call the Light Candle Spell
Spell Date: Wednesday, December 13, 2017
This spell will empower spells already cast and in process. It can also be used to shed light on a confusing situation.
Anoint a white candle with rosemary, myrrh, and rose oils. Anoint from the center of the candle to the top and then from the center to the base. Repeat this seven times. As you anoint the candle, become a channel of cosmic and limitless light as it flows through you and charges the candle. When you are ready, light the candle and briefly hold your hands above the flame and then bring them in a wave motion over your head, into your heart, and into your whole self to bring the magic. Let the candle burn down completely.

Spell Date: Tuesday, December 12, 2017
With the moon in Libra today, it is a great time to focus on balance. Autumn has zoomed by, and we quickly approach the holiday season: Yule, Christmas, the New Year. It’s time to attend to the details of our inner and outer lives, readying ourselves before we plunge into the weeks of merrymaking.
Today, tune in to the Libran energy of restoring balance. Take time to put your home in order. Sweep and mop. Throw in a load of laundry. Decorate your home for the festive season. Rearrange furniture and declutter. Attend to your altar, cleaning, clearing, and preparing it for Yule. Sweep the altar with a small bough of evergreen, cleansing and purifying. Light a candle and say:
“I’m ready, my home’s ready, my altar’s
ready, my heart’s ready. I’m balanced
and ready for the holidays. Time now
to indulge in luxury.”

Spell Date: Monday, December 11, 2017
For this spell, you will need:
* Bon Ami powder cleanser (or Bar Keepers Friend)
* 3 tablespoons asafoetida
* 13 drops pure essential frankincense oil
* 1/2 gallon distilled white vinegar
* Frankincense and myrrh incense
* A small white candle
Begin by thoroughly scrubbing your bathtub with Bon Ami. Combine the asafoetida, frankincense oil, and distilled white vinegar and shake this banishing mixture very well. Asperge the tub and any nearby tiles with the mixture as you demand the following:
“Be gone, dark shadow; I command you,
wonder not beyond your rent veil. Stay
bound within your own dimension,
for you are expelled from mine. Get
out, uninvited host. Neither thief nor
demonic foe will steal entry here. By
my driven will, I banish thee with this
etheric alchemy. I fortify this space with
light. With my right hand, I cast and
seal a fiery pentacle. This consecration
is complete. So mote it be.”
Light the candle and incense inside the tub and leave the room to rest for twenty-four hours. Make sure the candle is in a safe, clean area, free of any overhanging flammable material.

Heartwings Love Notes 806 Love for Christmas Giving
Heartwings says, “The most wonderful present is a gift of love.”
Every Christmas I bake up several batches of cookies and make up plates to give people who have been helpful or kind to Stephen and me in the past year. The newspaper delivery people who bring the paper to our floor, the ladies of the library where we take advantage of their services all year long, the fine gentlemen of the garage where we take our car for repairs and upkeep, and several others.
Favorite cookie recipes include my Disappearing Caramel Brownies, Jiffy Jam Delights, and Unexpected Company Bars, all reliable and relatively easy to make recipes. This time of year there are cookie recipes everywhere to be found, and these are my personal favorites for giving, however those with more time and energy than yours truly might make cut out cookies to decorate or bake up even more fancy recipes. To my way of thinking, however one wishes to express love is what counts; spending time on a gift is my favorite way.
While feeding people is one of the ways I use to express my love, I also appreciate recipes that take less rather than more time, yet still provide delicious tasting healthy food. I also collect recipes from others when they have something unique and special to share. Sometimes they even write them out for me. I have loose leaf notebook where I keep these, along with others. Within its plastic sheeted pages are pressed their treasured, handwritten pieces of paper.
The following recipe wasn’t written out by my late friend because it was so simple. Avocado and Grapefruit salad requires one grapefruit and one avocado per two people, so if you are serving a family you need to double or triple, depending. Think kind thoughts as you peel and section grapefruit, removing membrane and preserving juice. Cut one avocado in half, remove seed and section into slices. Combine all and add a tablespoon or two of a good tasting olive oil, stir, chill slightly, and serve with love for the holidays or any time
May your gifts of love be a pleasure to make and to give.
Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert
If you have a recipe you would like to share with me or if you would like one of my recipes, please do let me know? I am always so happy to hear from readers.
Stones, Gems and Crystals: Their Effects
by Ghost Hunting Theories
Rocks, gems and crystals have long been used for healing but some might not understand how, why, or the effects on our health, hauntings, and the earth.
Let’s begin with a comparison:
Crystals are like generators that put out energy to make things happen. These are best for manifesting, giving energy to a wish or desire.
Gems are like light bulbs that take in the energy and radiate it in a condensed area – concentrated and contained. These are best for healing.
Stones are like the power cord from the generator to the light bulb. These are best for directing energy to focus.
The use of these correctly can create amazing things.
If you put stone beneath a house or in a home’s foundations or walls and then you have it sitting atop a geology with crystals going through it – like quartz, you get an energy center. Whether that energy is good or bad depends on other factors like the feng shui (layout of rooms, doors and windows) and the emotional and physical history that played out in the building (an old sanitorium versus a happy family home).
So, a home that is an ideal spirit vessel for ghosts can be the best home you ever lived in where people come back to visit and everyone wants to gather or it can be a thing of disruption, rage, and disease. It depends on what played out in the setting formerly. And it can also depend on what you do while you are a resident.
And, yes, you can change the energy of your home from a negative past resident or negative history. More on this aspect in a future post.
Rock stacks are a wonderful use of stones and the power we hold within to feel and balance the tiniest nuances to create a lightning rod to positive energy.
The act of looking for a balance in stones and handling them can be a very rewarding one. As you handle each stone, feel its weight and texture, but also get a sense of whether it will cooperate or not. When you get a rock stack built and balanced, it’s as if each stone cooperated in the process. And what occurs is an interesting focus of energy. Ancient masons surely knew this skill and the power behind building with rock. I have a rock stack in my home and it is topped by a hunk of amethyst. It is like a lightning rod for good fortune.
Some good music to build rock stacks to (rated as the #1 most anti-anxiety song ever created)
If you want to begin to explore the world of stones, begin with the practice of rock stacking. You will begin to see the grounding that takes place.
12 Benefits of Witchcraft
There are many benefits of witchcraft as a spiritual practice. There’s no one way to practice magick, and no two witches are alike. People practice magick from all religions, backgrounds, and for a variety of reasons. That being said, there are several underlying traits that those who practice can benefit from. Here are twelve benefits of witchcraft:
Anyone Can Be A Witch – Witchcraft is often associated with the religion of Wicca, but one doesn’t have to be Wiccan to practice it. People from all religious backgrounds practice magick, and nonreligious people do as well.
There Are No Rules – Sure, there’s spell books, guides, tools, and different things people recommend, but your practice is your own and it can be as complex or as simple as you like.
You Can Do It From Anywhere – A lot of witches have designated sacred spaces and altars to perform magick, but in reality it can be performed anywhere. All you really need is you, your intent, and a space where you can focus.
Time In Nature – One of the biggest benefits of witchcraft is that it gets you to spend more time outside, working with nature, meditating, and developing more respect for your surroundings. It also gives you time to unplug from the internet.
Knowledge – Witchcraft requires a lot of studying, and you never really stop learning. You can learn a lot about herbs and their medicinal benefits, the phases of the moon, astronomy, flowers, trees, animals, crystals, meditation, chakras, natural healing, tea, myths, history, and the magical uses of all these things. You can also learn more about yourself!
Knowing What You Want – Spellwork requires you to be clear about your intent, and this can give you a lot of clarity about what you really want in life. As a result, it can help you to take more steps to work toward those things.
Time To De-Stress – Witchcraft is, at its heart, a nature-based spiritual practice. As children of the Earth, few things can ease our minds more than connecting with nature and the elements. It also helps you to meditate and reflect on a regular basis.
There Are Many Paths – Since there’s no one way to practice magick, you can find the path you resonate with most. You can be a green witch, a sea witch, or a hedge witch. You can practice with a coven or on your own. You can follow spell books or create your own rituals.
Reasons To Celebrate – There are many sacred days that some witches honor, including the summer and winter solstices, the spring and autumn equinoxes, Samhain, Beltane, and others. People celebrate in different ways, but they often include preparing a special feast, rituals, nature walks, meditating, honoring ancestors, bonfires, and gratitude.
Inspiration – A lot of witches share their inspiration, positivity, and light with others, and social media makes it easy to soak up all that wisdom.
It’s Inclusive – One reason I think witchcraft resonates with so many people is that it’s inclusive. It empowers women and doesn’t discriminate against the LGBT community. It gives people space to explore spirituality in a judgement-free environment that also promotes kindness, self-care, balance, and healing.
It Promotes Healthy Habits – Drinking tea, cooking with herbs, spending time outdoors, journaling and reflecting, meditation, getting clear on what you want, connecting with the elements, taking care of the earth, caring for plants, reading books, and expressing your emotions are all things you may do more if you practice witchcraft.
These are a few benefits of witchcraft as a spiritual practice. Above all, I see it as being about connecting with the Earth and taking care of yourself. Thanks for reading. Blessed be! ?

How to Make Heat Activated Spell Sachets
by Moody Moons
Get cozy with this unique, creative, winter-friendly take on the traditional spell sachet or “mojo bag.”
This heat-activated spell idea upcycles your scrap fabric, herbs and leftover essential oils for a custom magickal spell charm that’s sure to warm your heart.
So pull up a chair, grab a cup of hot tea and start witch crafting!
The idea for heated spell sachets came to me during one of my deep dives into the creative abyss of my Pinterest feed.
Stuffing stockings became a favorite Yule tradition of mine from the very first year I took home a real paycheck and finally got to give gifts of my own.
So I took an immediate interest in the trend du jour for DIY stocking stuffers this year—DIY hand warmers.
You essentially make basic sachets, stuff them with microwave-safe natural filler (like rice or flaxseed) and heat them up to warm your hands/pockets when you venture out in the cold. Cute, right?
Then it occurred to me, what a great basis for a spell sachet!
Today, I’ll show you how to create your own “heat-activated” customized spell sachet step-by-step, including plenty of ideas on how to infuse your sachet with intentional energy and carry it out into the world with you!
You will need:
*scrap fabric (see selection ideas below)
*needle & thread
*filler (rice, buckwheat, flaxseed, ect)
*appropriate essential oils (more on this below) and/or
*appropriate herbs (more on this below)
Step 1: Decide on your intention.
Of course, the first step to any spell involves the basic presumption that you have something you want to accomplish. Do you want to carry your spell sachet to calm stage fright, assist with a court case, attract love or help you dream peacefully?
Your intention informs the remaining steps, so have a clear goal in mind before you begin.
Step 2: Select a fabric.
To begin with, not all fabrics are microwave safe. Choose a natural fabric, like 100% cotton, hemp or linen to avoid a messy meltdown in your microwave oven.
Beyond that, fabric offers an excellent opportunity to choose something that fits with your intention. Choose a color (like red for love, or blue for healing) that suites the goal.
Alternatively, use the pattern itself to convey your meaning. For example, I chose the foxes below to symbolize a “courageous heart” and give a friend a much-needed confidence boost during a job hunt.
Cherry prints work for love and attraction.
Perhaps use a dollar sign print for financial success or maybe pick something printed with images of your spirit animal for an empowerment sachet.
You get the idea. Use your creative ingenuity to pick something uniquely you.
Step 3: Choose a Pattern or Shape.
Similarly, make a simple pattern out of sturdy card stock or even an old cereal box and draw/cut out a shape that conveys meaning. Shapes get less attention in modern witchcraft than colors and numbers, but briefly:
Circles: Healing, friendship, cycles
Squares: Emotional stability, protection, financial success, balance
Hearts: Love, friendship, attraction, family matters
Triangles: Triple goddess, pyramid magick, moon magick
Pentagon or Star: All-purpose (symbolizes the pentacle)
Trace your pattern on the fabric and cut it out.
Step 4: Pick a stitch.
Don’t worry! If you’re new to sewing (or if you’ve never sewed) this project is an easy one to begin with. This article touches on some basic hand stitches for beginners.
Personally, I like the whip stitch because it creates a spiral, which has meaning to me in my practice.
I strongly recommend hand stitching your sachet rather than using a machine. The concentration lends power to your intentions. You can even repeat a chant with every stitch or simply allow your mind to fall into the meditative trance of the repeated motion.
Step 5: Pick a filler.
The Pinterest rumor insists that flaxseed makes the most cost effective and heat-retaining option, but I had good luck with plain old jasmine rice.
One blogger apparently went to great lengths to experiment with various microwave-friendly fillings for hand warmers and goes into pretty deep detail, complete with charts, in this article.
Step 6: Select Essential Oils & Herbs–BE CAREFUL!
Include a few drops of essential oil or a pinch of herbs to kick your magick into high gear usually poses little risk, however: some herbs flare in the microwave no matter what, too much of any herb definitely will and essential oils may as well.
Go light with the herbs and oils, and only microwave in 20-30 second intervals, especially in the beginning. Watch your sachet carefully until you know what works.
Once you fill your sachet and stitch it up, it’s time to use it!
Heating it up before you use it—whether for a big job interview or simply to sooth your mind during meditation—-makes a lovely, heartwarming way to “activate” the energy you used to create it.
Wear your sachet on the inside of a coat close to your heart, in your pockets or gloves, or anywhere it will “warm up” your soul and create positive energy in your life.

Walking meditation is a simple way to connect with your spirit and mother earth in a very grounded way.
Many of us take the benefits of walking for granted. Each day we limit the steps we take by driving or sitting for long periods of time. But walking even a few blocks a day has unlimited benefits – not only for our health, but our spirit as well, for as we walk, we connect with the earth.
Even when walking on concrete, the earth is still beneath us, supporting us. Walking lets our body remember simpler times, when life was less complicated. This helps us slow down to the speed of our body and take the time to integrate the natural flow of life into our cellular tissue. Instead of running from place to place or thinking about how much more we can fit into our day, walking allows us to exist in the moment.
Each step we take can lead us to becoming more mindful of ourselves and our feelings. Walking slows us down enough not only to pay attention to where we are in our body, but also to our breath. Taking time to simply notice our breath while we walk, through the length of our inhales and exhales, and becoming attuned to the way in which we breathe is taking a step towards mindfulness. When we become more mindful, we gradually increase our awareness of the environment around us and start to recognize that the normal flow of our thoughts and feelings are not always related to where we are in the present moment. Gradually we realize that the connection we have with the earth and the ground beneath our feet is all that is. By walking and practicing breathing mindfully we gain a sense of calm and tranquility — the problems and troubles of the day slowly fade away because we are in the ‘now’.
The simplicity and ease of a walking practice allows us to create time, space and awareness of our surroundings and of the wonders that lie within. Taking a few moments to walk each day and become more aware of our breath will in turn open the door for the beauty of the world around us to filter in.

Riding in the cruiser back to the burnt out mansion in Twin Falls I could feel the tension. Chief Mallory and Heidi Croft sat in front, me and Sippi in back. Sippi’s hands were balled into fists; her lips were tight. She checked her handgun. Not the usual Sippi full of fun and handing out treats.
Mallory turned to Heidi. “So you two grew up together. Do you know what started him out as an arsonist?”
Heidi shrugged. “Rod always had a thing for fire. When he was seven he torched Uncle Theodore’s barn. Maybe he was just playing with matches or maybe he did it on purpose. The barn was full of hay. I saw him. He just stood there watching it burn. Looking back I guess that was when it started.”
“And you kept mum.” Sippi said.
Heidi nodded. “No one but me knew how much he craved playing with fire. I’ll admit that us Crofts are one messed up family but push come to shove we keep our perversities to ourselves and even stick up for one another.”
“So it would seem,” Mallory said.
Heidi laughed. “Times were different back then. What was once ignored as idiosyncratic behavior, today would land you in analysis or worse.”
“When you dig down deep enough that assessment’s true about most families. Sippi said. “If you ever met my Aunt Bea…”
Mallory glanced back at her and chuckled. He looked at Heidi. “So you two grew up together.” you and Croft?”
Heidi sighed. “No crime us being related. Mom always stood by him, thick or thin. Women usually protected Rod.”
We pulled up by the troopers at the entrance to the burnt out mansion. The two other cruisers arrived. We parked, got out, and assembled. Ready to go to work, I pulled at my leash. But as usual Sippi was acting her overly protective self. “Hold it, Magee, let’s see what’s going on first.”
Raven and the men from the Bureau of Prisons went to the right. Sergeant Hacksaw and his two state troopers entered from the left.
I pulled again. Enough already.
“Not yet Magee. Calm down.”
But all wasn’t lost. At least she tossed me a spicy shrimp ball.
Chief Mallory, Sippi , Heidi and I proceeded into the cave entrance and down a narrow incline. It felt familiar, the same place I had been carried by the ghost. Moving downward after about twenty yards the land leveled out onto flat damp floor.
Sippi unhitched my leash. “Ok Magee, but don’t go too far.”
I ran ahead and started sniffing. I remembered the way Blackie would pause every few feet and let the full scent engulf her. After absorbing it, she’d dash ahead.
Unexpectedly Chief Mallory called out. “We know you’re here Croft. Make it easy on your self and surrender.”
“Don’t expect him to reply,” Heidi said. “My guess is he’s waiting to pick us off like ducks in a shooting gallery.”
“Is he that good a shot?” Sippi said.
Heidi looked out over the ridges and pointed up. “From the right spot he could cause serious damage.” She lowered her voice. “Those ridges in the cliff for instance.”
Mallory motioned us to take cover then he pulled out his pistol.. “Stop playing games Croft.” He yelled. He fired twice. The shots reverberated in my ears. I lay flat as I could get to the ground and edged forward.
A hand brushed against my back; there was the same strange scent I remembered from being carried befpre by the ghost. Then I saw the misty figure of Marjorie. She pressed her finger to her lips and I heard. “Hush now Magee.”
“You heard me Croft,” Chief Mallory shouted. “Surrender and live another day. You haven’t a chance. You’re surrounded.”
The hand lifted me off the ground and swept me deeper into the darkness of the cavern.
“Magee get back here now!” Sippi shrilled. I was unsure what to do. Was it all right to trust this ghost? I twisted around and looked. I was being carried by a soldier in a bloody blue uniform with a ragged bandage stained with blood tied around his head. He smiled, and I realized he really was friendly.
Mallory’s voice followed me. “Do your thing Sherlock.”
Ahead of me I saw the red eyes of the rat. It hissed. The thing looked very fierce but I’m a cop and I’m not supposed to be afraid of anything.
“Magee,” Sippi shouted. “Where are you?”
The hand held me over the rat. It hissed, then scuttled backward and disappeared.
I wanted to run after it but the hand still held onto me. I looked behind me and saw Sippi, Mallory and Heidi Croft crouched behind large rocks.
Then I saw the rat creep closer to them. It hissed again. A man in worn clothes appeared. He held a rifle and I saw a pistol sticking out of his pants pocket.
“You hurt the rat and you’re all dead.”
Mallory aimed his pistol but he held his fire.
Heidi Croft stood up and went over to him. “Rod baby, it’s time, time to go home,” she said softly. “It’s me Heidi. Time to come back to the house with me.”
He looked at her. His eyes opened wider and looked calmer. “This ain’t your fight Sis. This is about Ebenezer and me. He wants me to have his treasure. I’ve already found a bag of diamonds he liberated from one of the plantations he sacked.”
Heidi shook her head. “Come now Rod, it’s time for us to go home.” Her voice was soft.
I saw his hair was blond just like hers. They almost looked like twins.
He shook his head. I saw Marjory again. She smiled at me and rubbed my ears. I felt better. Though I was back on the ground at the moment, the ghostly hands still held me. The rat turned and ran back to the crazed man. “Caligula, my cellmate, you can’t die.” The rat ran up and sat on his shoulder. For a moment I thought he would put down the gun. Instead he whirled, and aimed his gun at Chief Mallory.
