Monday – Day of Emotions ( Day of the Moon )
Monday Magick Power Hours: Moonrise. Key Words:
Magick, dreams, health, love, home and family In the word Monday, we can see
part of the word Moon. In the romance languages such as Italian or Spanish,
this day of the week is called Lunes and clearly relates to the word lunar.
On Mondays, a variety of magick may be worked.
Because Monday centers on the energies of the Moon, things like psychism,
dreams, feminine energy, health, success in spiritual pursuits, domestic
matters, and things of family origin are especially important this day.
Mondays are best for love magick and anything concerning home or family,

the king of the angels of air and the “ruler” of Monday. Abuzaha (Abuzohar)
serves Monday, and is very responsive to invocations and ritual magick.

A Candle Spell: Your Voice in the Universe
Spell Date:  Sunday, November 27, 2016

If you feel that your own personal voice in life has gone unheard lately, try this spell to increase your presence and shift your energy from an introspective place into one that is more extroverted—at least temporarily. You can repeat this exercise whenever it feels like social pressures are too overwhelming, or during times when you are required to be socially active but feel like isolating yourself.

Begin by making “big” body movements. By making yourself big, and by using vocal intonation, your field of energy expands. Jump up and down, windmill your arms, flail around, and dance like no one is watching (please note that no one should be watching!). Vocally make your presence known to the universe by declaring:

Me! Free! Me! Free! Me! Free!

After you’ve sufficiently stirred up your energy, close your eyes and place your hands on your Vishuddha (throat) chakra. Visualize the energy that you’ve just raised as a vibrant blue color that surrounds your body. Consciously direct and channel all of this energy into your throat. See your throat as expansive and expressive— just like you were moments earlier. When you feel you’ve recharged this area with the blue light of communication, regularly practice speaking your mind with eloquence and grace.

Spell for the Hearth and Home
Spell Date:  Saturday, November 26, 2016

The winter holiday season is upon us. Why not celebrate with a hearth and home spell? No matter where you live, the hearth is often the heart of the home. These days, that “hearth” is often the kitchen. Call on Hestia, the Greek goddess of the hearth flame. Hestia was a powerful deity, as she was traditionally the first and last of the gods to be invoked.

To begin, light a red candle and display it safely in a place of honor. Then say:

(Hestia, goddess of the hearth’s flame, I honor your power now and call your name. Watch over our home and bless us all during the holidays, May your power shine forth and brighten up these dark winter days.)

Let the candle burn out in a safe place. If you wish, you can rework this spell throughout the holiday season.

Saint Catherine
Spell Date:  Friday, November 25, 2016

Saint Catherine of Alexandria— who is aligned with such magical superstars as Athena, Fortuna, and Hypatia—is honored on this day. Although she’s no longer recognized as an official saint, her spiritual vibration is palpable and potent, and she can be petitioned effectively for help with romantic matters, especially related to marriage and lifelong partners. To do this, place an image of Saint Catherine on your altar. Add a few drops of essential oil of sandalwood to some sunflower oil, and anoint a red pillar candle with the oil. Place the candle on a holder, and sprinkle a pinch of gold glitter on and around it. Earnestly request that Saint Catherine powerfully intervene to help bring about ideal conditions in your love life. (You can hold a specific desire in mind, but it’s best to trust the details and outcome to her.) Then thank her. Light the candle and allow it to burn all the way down, extinguishing and lighting again as necessary.

Throwing the Turkey Bones
Spell Date:  Thursday, November 24, 2016

Throwing the bones is a traditional Hoodoo means of divination. Chicken bones are most commonly used, but on Thanksgiving Day, think big and work with what’s at hand. After your Thanksgiving feast, clean and dry (and paint if you wish) four bones from your turkey: a leg bone, one of the small single bones from one of the wings, the wishbone, and a broken bone of your choice.

Blindfold your querent, and mix and arrange the bones on a table in front of the person. Make predictions based on what he or she selects:

Choose the large leg bone, and big change is afoot.

Choose the small bone, and expect small changes in day-to-day life.

Choose the wishbone—your wish is granted!

Choose the broken bone, and know that something needs to come to an end—perhaps a bad habit or a project that needs finishing.

To See Clearly Through Anger
Spell Date:  Wednesday, November 23, 2016

We all have times when our emotions overcome our good judgment. Anger, in particular, has the ability to distort our perception and understanding. If you suspect that your anger is clouding your thoughts, take time out for a few deep breaths. When you are calm, recite the following:

Let my anger depart and soothe my wounded heart.

Remove the scales from upon my eyes, help me to see through hate and lies.

No more my thoughts shall clouded be, instead it shall be the truth I see.

Let me understand with clarity and return to a mind of acuity.

Repeat as necessary while the problem persists.

Heartwings Love Notes 751: Full of Thanks and Grateful for It

Heartwings says, “Awareness of blessings generates a sense of thankfulness.”

I wasn’t always aware how important it was to be grateful. To be sure, I was brought up to say thank you when given a gift and often to write a letter of acknowledgment to the giver. However, having an actual attitude of gratitude, as the saying goes, was foreign to my thinking. I can remember my mother saying things like: “Finish your liver, there are children starving in China who would be happy to have it.” Of course, the thought that goes with that is, well send it to them then, however that would have been considered a rude remark and would have merited disciplinary action.

As a child, like most I took my safety, my freedom from hunger and cold, and my warm surroundings for granted. I was sheltered from the knowledge of others’ circumstances because the only outside source of information besides the newspapers was the radio. I knew much less about the world than do children today with access to TV and the Internet. Whether that makes one more or less apt to be grateful is moot. It might make an interesting study. It is very easy for children to take their blessings for granted. Most probably even today gratitude is something most become aware of as adults.

My change of heart began with a simple prayer I was taught by someone I met only briefly who had a profound effect on my life. In a conversation with her I was complaining about my circumstances when she corrected me saying that rather than bemoan what I did not have, I rejoice over what I did. Her suggestion was to repeat three times a day, “Beloved Lord I do greatly thank Thee for the abundance that is mine.” The phrasing can be changed to suit those who have a different belief system to honor whatever higher power they may acknowledge–Divine Providence, the Goddess, Mother Earth and so on.

Oddly once I began to do that, my abundance began to grow and has continued to do so. On another occasion I briefly met a wise woman who among other things, told me to take nothing for granted. I took her advice to heart. As I have continued to be grateful even for simple gifts and to acknowledge my little blessings, they have continued to expand. Eventually I even learned to be grateful for difficulties and disappointments because of the opportunities to learn and grow they provided. At this Thanksgiving as always I will sit down at the table with a heart full of gratitude, and for this I am exceedingly grateful.

As you celebrate your Thanksgiving may you find much for which to be grateful.

Blessings and best regards, Tasha Halpert

Stephen Halpert:
Magee Goes Trick or Treat, Part 7

Sippi looked at Aunt Bea and grinned.” Was that phone call from your gentleman caller?”
“More than that,” she smiled and Sippi saw that far away look in her eyes-like a woman in love. “Yes, Sippi, considerably more than that. I have to say that I’m one of his one and onlies.”
Raven caught on and grinned. “Is he why you’ve come back after all these years?”
“One of them,” Bea said. “I’d say the major one now that miscegenation and disinheritance won’t keep us from spending our golden years together.
Sippi was poised to hear more. “One of ‘um, what? What I don’t know about you Aunt Bea!”
The doorbell rang. Sippi sighed and went to answer it. She came back with a big bulky package for Aunt Bea from Victoria’s Hideaway.
“My new dress, cape and shoes. Now I’m all set. Then she laughed. “Set as I’ll ever be.”
“Set for what?” Sippi asked.
“Set to see him again?” Raven said.” Set to throw her arms around the man of her dreams.”
“That all goes without saying,” Bea said.
I went over and sniffed the box. It had a perfume smell that made me want to sneeze.
With a flourish Aunt Bea opened it, pulled out her dress and held it against herself. Raven whistled approvingly.
Sippi’s eyes widened. “Sheer! You goin’ in for that revealing Josephine Baker look?”
“Ya think?” Bea chuckled. “Believe me Sippi I wouldn’t be wearing this number to the Sunday school recital. But I figure for tomorrow night, it being Halloween as well as the twentieth fifth anniversary of our first meeting that anything goes for me and my size 14.  Besides it’s got a cape.”
Sippi chuckled. “Oh sure,” she said as she ran her hands over the clingy
material.  “That’ll make a big difference I’m sure.”
Raven looked at Aunt Bea. “You’re one fine looking woman.”
“You oughta be saying that to Sippi not me.”
Raven’s sighed. “If only she’d let me. I’m not perfect. The right looks and I’m distracted. But with Sippi it’s different. I love her and I hope she knows it. I’ll follow after her to the ends of this earth.” But Sippi turned her head away.
Bea patted his hand. “Then you have to convince her.”
“Will you two stop!” Sippi’s lips tightened. “It’s best to let things be.” She stared at the tall sequined heels and laughed. “I’d be lame for a week if I dared try dancing in those.”
Bea grinned. “All the better to strut my stuff, my dear. I bought them so as to accentuate my positive.”
Raven smiled.”Kind of reminds me of what Tina Turner wore for her Amsterdam concert only her dress was way shorter.”
“You’d rather I wore my Girl Scout uniform?”
Sippi laughed. “Aunt Bea, if you were a girl scout you’d win a badge for minding other people’s business.”
All that talk they were doing. It was time for a treat. I yawned and began to whine–just a whimper really, but enough to get Sippi’s attention.
She disappointed me. “Forget it Magee. You’ve just had supper.”
Bea put her hand on Raven’s arm. “A part of you feels like he never gets enough! No wonder you’re not ready yet to settle down.”
“What do you mean?”
“Just keep on showing that niece of mine love and heartfelt affection. Slowly that part of you will realize what you have is better than anything you could find by looking and won’t feel the need to go elsewhere.”
“Aunt Bea did you smoke something today?” Sippi said. “You sound a little overly enthusiastic.”
Bea paid Sippi no mind. Instead she looked warmly at Raven and
patted his hand.
Sippi sniffed. “Please, Aunt Bea! Please don’t give him encouragement. Raven and I are on different paths.”
“Doesn’t have to be that way,” he said.
“Oh Sippi be forgiving,” Bea said. “He’s just a man for goodness sake.”
“That’s right,” Raven said.”It’s always been you, Sippi even when it wasn’t.”
“Don’t go there Raven.”
Sippi’s cell phone interrupted them. Chief Mallory’s voice boomed. “Bopp get Magee over here! I’m at the municipal tennis courts by the high school. We’ve found the missing head. I want Magee to do his sniffing before the crime lab gets here.”
I saw the excitement in Sippi’s eyes and knew we were finally afoot.
“I’ll drive,” Raven said. “If you’ll let me, that is?”
Sippi sighed. “Sure.” She attached my leash, then to make nice she tossed me a spicy shrimp ball.
“Ok Magee,” she said, “Show time.”
Sippi sat in front beside Raven. I was in the back on cold, firm leather seats.  I wished there was a blanket but who asked me? I’m only a dog.
When we arrived at the tennis courts people were standing around, clutching their tennis rackets, looking nervous. Several patrolmen were taking names and gathering data. Mallory joined us at Raven’s car.
“Over there.” He pointed to the last court.  Down at the end.” We started walking.
“Two women came by after work and discovered it. Someone for sure has a sick sense of the macabre.”
When we got there we saw a man’s head jammed on the top of a dead branch. He had long, thick matted hair. Dried blood had congealed in his beard.  There were two gaping holes where his eyes had been.
Sippi removed my leash. I went to the branch and started to sniff. Like I usually do, I was sniffing to find a scent that didn’t belong there. Then I detected a whiff of perfume. It was barely noticeable, but this time enough to make me sneeze. I followed it past the tennis courts, back to the parking lot, then down a stretch of dirt road that wound behind the gym.
“Right behind you Magee,” Raven said.
The scent was very faint, but enough for me to follow. I scurried down a dirt path As I got closer the scent was stronger.  There was something under a clump of bushes. I barked to make them notice. Then I tried to get my teeth around it to pull it out. Mallory, Sippi and Raven caught up with me. Mallory aimed his flashlight.
“Give me a hand you two.” Together they managed to yank out an old rusty ax with a wooden handle. There was dried blood on the blade.
“Good work Sherlock.” Mallory started talking into his phone and I knew the crime lab was on its way. I yawned. Time to go home.

Activating Herbs For Magical Use
Posted by Michael Shirley on November 16, 2016

Whether you’re using herbs for incenses, powders, lotions, potions, or the like – empowering them and charging them with your intentions is the first and most important step in activating the magical properties of your plants. It’s very simple and the most you will ever need is a mortar and pestle, but you will always need your imagination.

Activating an herb is much like activating a crystal. Just hold it in your hand and with your eyes open or closed, imagine the things you want the plant to do for you. Imagine all of those magical properties glowing within your hands, and activated by your thought and touch. See the plant and it’s magical properties aiding your magic and bringing forth the outcome you desire.

If you are using a mortar and pestle, you would perform similar mental visuals as you grind the herb, but knowing as you grind and break apart the herbs – you are driving your intention into them as their magical properties are released under the pressure of the pestle. If you are using a really fine herb that has already been ground, you can grind it a little more if you like or just press your fingers into the powder and charge it through touch, as mentioned above.

The only time you can really go without empowering an herb is when you empower an entire concoction of various ingredients all at once. Say you are making a special powder which has almost 10 different ingredients and empowering every item would seem counter-productive to you or your goal. In this case, you might want to empower everything all at once to reach a particular goal. Some witches prefer to only work this way and some like to nurture each plant individually. There really is no wrong or right, as long as you feel connected to your magic and chosen process.

Burning Aromatic Dried Herbs

Burning aromatic dried herbs are referred to as “smudging.” Tied bundles of dried aromatic herbs, or smudge sticks, often figure in spiritual healing and cleansing rituals. However, you can simply choose to burn aromatic herbs to enjoy the scent. To make your own smudge sticks, gather a large handful of aromatic herbs and use a natural string {cotton is best} to tie it at one end. {Leave both ends of the string hanging evenly.} Hang the herbs to dry. When the leaves are ready, wrap the string around them, making a compact, cigar-shaped bundle, and knot the string up top.
To burn the smudge stick, light the herbs on one end, and let the stick smolder and release its aromatic smoke. You may hold the smudge stick, gently waving it in the air and carrying it from room to room, or simply prop it up on a fireproof plate, bowl, or ashtray and let it smolder. When you’re ready to extinguish the flame, lightly tamp the lit end of the smudge stick into sand or salt and make sure the fire is out. Continue to use your smudge stick time and time again until it has burned completely.

You can use a wide variety of herbs for smudge sticks. The herbs need to be long enough stemmed to be cut, bundled and dried. White sage, pinion, cedar, and sweetgrass are very traditional smudge herbs; they all smell wonderful either alone or in combination.
Other good smudge herbs include lavender, lemongrass, garden sage, pineapple sage, rosemary, mugwort, any aromatic evergreens, mints, thyme, eucalyptus, and sweet woodruff. Experiment with fragrant herbs found in your garden.

You can also burn loose dried herbs, such as lavender buds, rose petals, white sage leaves, or pine needles, using self-lighting charcoal discs designed for burning incense. These charcoal discs are inexpensive and very easy to use. {Caution: The type of charcoal used for grilling food is not suitable for burning herbs.} Light the disc using a match or lighter, then place it in a fire-proof container such as a ceramic bowl or ashtray. It will spark, then begin to glow red. Then simply sprinkle your dried herbs on the disc. They will smolder and burn, releasing their aromatic smoke. You can use nearly any fragrant herb for incense. I recommend gathering a selection of dried herbs and burning small quantities of each, one at a time so that you can experience how each herb smells while it’s burning.

Some of my favorite herbs to use as loose incense include white sage, lavender buds, sweetgrass, costmary, cedar wood chips, bay leaves, lemongrass, and rosemary.

About The Morning Feast and Goddessschool.com – The teachings here are based
on ordinary magick, the principle that the mundane and the Divine are not
separate, but peacefully coexist in all things. Know Mother Earth as the
ultimate healer, and learn to utilize her gifts of nature. Inside each woman
is a being of wisdom, deeply connected to the phases of the moon and the
tides of the sea. All we need to do is trust our innate wisdom.
