The Goddess School Grimoire
By SOTBB Goddess School
Hardcover: $39.45
Softback: $26.95
eBook (PDF): $6.25
The Goddess School Grimoire is a collection of recipes, artwork, poetry, prose, prayers, rituals, spells, and practical Goddess wisdom put together by the teachers, students, alumni, and friends of The Sisters of the Burning Branch Goddess School. The sisterhood is dedicated to restoring spiritual balance by returning the Divine Feminine to her rightful place and by assisting women in their personal and spiritual development. Since being founded by Head and High Mother Priestess Grandmother Moon in 2000, The Goddess School (www.Goddessschool.com) has grown into a large and beautiful global community of women.
We learn from Our Mother…the Earth, the Moon, the weather, from the elements, the animals, the stones, the seasons, the trees and all manner of living and breathing things, as well as the inanimate. They have much to tell us, much to share. We learn the language of the Earth and her inhabitants, but we must resonate with them to understand. This is a fun 13 week E-Course, with hands-on projects that you will love!

NOTE: Because of the large number of ancient calendars, many in simultaneous use, as well as different ways of computing holy days (marked by the annual inundation, the solar year, the lunar month, the rising of key stars, and other celestial and terrestrial events), you may find these holy days celebrated a few days earlier or later at your local temple.

Today’s Goddess:Gujeswari
Gujeswari Jatra (Nepal)
Themes: Earth; Water; Abundance; Offering; Prayer
Symbol: A Bowl of Water
About Gujeswari: Gujeswari is a potent Nepalese Goddess of Earth and all its bounty, and today is her
festival day. In many temples, the Goddess’s presence is represented by a simple bowl of water, the life-
giving substance and purifier of body, mind, and spirit.
To Do Today: Buddhists and Hindus in this region honor the Mother Goddess Gujeswari today by giving her
offerings, usually preceded by fasting and prayer. Follow this example, and put a bowl of fresh water on your
altar or a special place where it won’t be disturbed for the day. If physically feasible, abstain from eating one
meal today to honor the earth and Gujeswari’s goodness by returning (or preserving) some of her bounty.
Otherwise, simply abstain from a favorite food for the day as a kind of sacred sacrifice.
At the end of the day, just before you go to bed, sprinkle the water from the bowl around your living space.
First, go counter-clockwise to banish negative energy that hinders free-flowing blessings. Then go clockwise,
allowing Gujeswari’s water to cleanse and renew the ambiance in every room. If you have some left over, sprinkle
your pets (for health), your car (for safety in travel), and children’s beds (to protect them from nightmares), and
dab some on mechanical objects to keep them working smoothly.

Healing Arts and Pagan Studies ~ Clove Protection Spell
Cloves have protective properties in magical spells. Here is a relatively easy and long-lasting charm using cloves.
First, soak fifteen or twenty cloves in warm water for one hour. Using a needle, string the cloves on a red thread.
You can hang the string in an inconspicuous place, or, alternating the cloves with beads, you can make it into a
pretty necklace. Tie the thread and hang it up to dry. It will give an interesting spicy smell to your house, and also
ward off evil spirits.

Healing Arts and Pagan Studies ~ Tofu Turkey for Thanksgiving!
Ok, you have all been asking…and if you haven’t asked…I know you wanted to…here is
that vegan alternative especially good for Thanksgiving dinner! Serve with a vegetarian gravy
and all the fixings. Makes 10 servings. Enjoy!
5 (16 ounce) packages extra firm tofu
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 red onion, finely diced
1 1/3 cups diced celery
1 cup chopped mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/8 cup dried sage
2 teaspoons dried thyme
salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary
1/4 cup tamari
3 cups prepared herb stuffing
1/2 cup sesame oil
1/4 cup tamari
2 tablespoons miso paste
5 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon honey mustard
1/2 teaspoon orange zest
3 sprigs fresh rosemary
Directions
1 Line a medium sized, round colander with a cheese cloth  or a clean dish towel. Place the crumbled tofu in the
colander. Place another cheese cloth over the top of the tofu. Place the colander over the top of a bowl to catch the
liquid. Place a heavy weight on top of tofu. Refrigerate the colander, tofu and weight for 2 to 3 hours.
2 Make the stuffing: In a large frying pan sauté onion, celery and mushrooms in 2 tablespoons of the sesame oil until
tender. Add the garlic, sage, thyme, salt and pepper, rosemary and 1/4 cup of the tamari. Stir well; cook for 5 minutes.
Add prepared herb stuffing and mix well. Remove from heat.
3 Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a cookie sheet.
4 Combine 1/2 cup sesame oil, 1/4 cup tamari, miso, orange juice, mustard and orange zest in a small bowl; mix well.
5 Remove the weight from the tofu. Hollow out the tofu so that there is one inch of tofu still lining the colander.
Place the scooped out tofu in a separate bowl. Brush the tofu lining with a small amount of the miso seasoning.
Scoop the stuffing into the center of the tofu shell. Place the leftover tofu on top of the stuffing and press down
firmly.Turn the stuffed tofu onto the prepared cookie sheet.Putting the leftover tofu side of the “turkey” (the flat side)
down. Gently press on the sides of the “turkey” to form a more oval shape. Brush the tofu turkey with 1/2 of the
oil-tamari mixture. Place the sprigs of rosemary on top of the tofu. Cover the “turkey” with foil.
6 Bake for one hour. After one hour, remove “turkey” from the oven and remove the foil. Baste the “turkey” with the
remaining tamari-oil sauce (reserving 4 tablespoons of sauce). Return “turkey” to oven and bake another hour or until the
tofu turkey is golden brown. Place the tofu turkey on a serving platter, brush with the remaining tamari-oil mixture
   and serve hot.

The Goddess Companion
I prayed, and I received understanding.
I called upon the divine, and Wisdom came to me.
I loved her more than scepters and thrones.
Wealth is nothing compared to Wisdom.
I cannot compare her to any jewel,
for gold is like sand compared to her,
and silver is like dull clay.
I love her more than health and beauty.
I love her more than light,
because she is unfailingly radiant.
All good things come to me because of her,
and from her hands come all treasures.
~Wisdom 7-14
The Wisdom scriptures from the Hebrew Bible show a different aspect of the divinity than the scriptures
that focus on god. Wisdom is near to us, is indeed our companion. And she is a woman, the corollary to
the male god of the majority of the texts.
Wisdom’s songs are magnificent expressions of the human need to relate to a divine feminine figure. We live
in a world in which we see a continual connection between apparently opposing forces. Ours is not a world of
light alone, nor of male alone. We must have darkness and the feminine, just as we must have winter as well
as summer, death as well as life. We cannot truly conceive of one without the other. Thus whenever a religion
has emphasized a singular male god, another figure has emerged to create balance. Wisdom is as necessary
to the Bible as Jehovah is. She, the mother of our souls, is as necessary to us as the father.

Hugging is good medicine. It transfers energy,
and gives the person hugged an emotional boost.
You need four hugs a day for survival, eight for maintenance, and twelve for growth.
A hug makes you feel good.
The skin is the largest organ we have and it needs a great deal of care.
A hug can cover a lot of skin and gives the message that you care.
It is also a form of communication.
It can say things you don’t have words for.
The nicest thing about a hug is that you usually can’t give one without getting one.
